Christmas in Shibuya
The snow left by Old Saint Nick remains throughout the city. And the shops are mercifully closed. At the station square, a gigantic Christmas Tree was erected. It was through this snowy scene that Haruko was walking, ducking the occasional snowball from others. Everything seemed fine... j-just ignore the people seemingly consumed by total apathy to living in the alleyways. Totally normal, the world isn't ending. "So, first Christmas alone, huh? .... This sucks, especially with this whole Fall thing going on now."
A boy would be sitting on the bench. He was wearing tinted goggles over his closed eyes and seemed to be watching the people with apathy syndrome. His eyes would open as he sighs in curiosity. His eyes would display a multitude of blue glowongnpatterns that seemed to cover the entirety of his eyeballs. His expression seemed almost worried as he watched the people. "A Christmas alone isn't too bad but spending time with friends can be pretty fun too. Those people's auras...why are they so weak? I've never seen anything like that before. Are they going to be okay?"
(edited by Leonardo_Watch)
I can't say.... I guess it's due to this whole "Fall" thing. And honestly most of my friends are busy trying to stop it, in various ways. Or just to ensure that people aren't dying in other ways.
*Urumi was sitting on top of a building, watching the city. Urumi had recently completed a mission* *Urumi soon looked up at the sky, sighing* Well, at least I can take a break at least for the rest of the day... At least MG is at the mountain base having fun with the others... Hmmm, maybe I can use this time to train myself.
"The Fall? Hmmmm..." Leo would think to himself for a while before looking back at Haruko with his eyes closed. Finally he would utter a few words in response. "What's the Fall?"
Well... apparently it's the end of the world. Caused by something called Nyx. And there's a giant cult involved, and apathy... *Judging by what she's saying, she really has no idea what it is. Only that birb man has to die...*
An odd sight on any day is a suit of armor walking around, holding a glowing sword. Knights in the Nexus were uncommon, and having a weapon wrapped around their hand with glowing chains was almost unheard of. They give a small wave to the two chatting nearby as they continue down the street.
Leo would open his eyes fully for a moment as he seems to be looking in the general direction of Tartarus. Suddenly he shouts. "W-what?!? What the heck even is that thing? A tree on top of a weird looking tower?!? And what's with this aura?!? I've never seen a aura like this, it's like some sort of negative aura..." Leo would begin shivering as a chill goes up his spine.
Yeah, that'd be the problem right there. I.... can't really do anything about it...
*A mask digitals over Urumi's face before she jumps down and lands on the ground* *Urumi looks around before checking herself to see if anything is broken*
"Times like this I really wish Mr. Reinherz was here. I'm not sure if I could really do anything about this either. I'm only really good at seeing stuff." Leo would smile as he closes his eyes gently. "I used to question wether I even belonged in Libra or if it was only my eyes they needed but sometimes you have to realize that it's not your usefulness that people value but something else. I'm sure your friends will be able to handle this though, don't you believe in them? Your friends for a reason right? Because you believe in one another."
The armor begins to approach the two at Leo's shouting, but whirls around upon hearing something land on the ground. Very hard. Did you just... are you okay? The sword is pointed at Urumi's feet.
I believe in them.... I just wish I could do something to help them. I try to fight and I just get told not to, I try to solve the puzzle and I get it wrong.
*Urumi looks at the armor* Yeah... by the looks of it, im ok Guess this is a good part of being a robot... no fall damage
(edited by Urumi_Koto)
"Just focus on what you can do. Everyone can do something and even if you fail they'll still forgive you if you really are friends. Everyone helps and supports eachother." Leo would sigh with a smile as he turns his head towards the gigantic Christmas tree. "Maybe that's just how I feel though. I don't want to dissapoint people either but also want to remain who I am. I guess that's my reason for not fighting at least. It's different for everyone though."
Robot...? Fall damage...? What is this, a video game? The sword's tip taps against the concrete sidewalk. Its wielder doesn't show any clear expressions due to the helmet, but they're clearly not in the most cheerful mood. Can't I go one day without meeting a weirdo? ... I said that out loud, didn't I.
*Shade appears from the shadows.* Well, this is quite the party. Though, I suppose it is the end of the hours of Christmas, so parties are to be expected.
*She sighs....* Well if you figure out what I can do let me know, huh? *She'd kick at the snow, looking over at an alleyway where a few days ago a number of people gathered. Now it's quiet, snow blowing out of it.*
Yeah, you did and it's okay... and I don't even know why I said fall damage, I could have easily said not hurting myself when landing from a fall
A woman wearing a green jacket and black skirt wanders the city, if not for being seemingly brain-dead passer-bys might stare at the metal greeves on her feet. "Geez, where the heck am I this time? One minute I'm heading out to train... And suddenly I'm in freaking Tokyo for no reason!" Chie sighs and looks around, for some reason this whole suddenly shift in local isn't exactly giving her a good feeling. But, upon spotting people who do not in fact appear to be zombies. she'd walk up to them and wave casually. "Yo! Chie Satonaka nice to meet you and all... But um, does anyone know what's going on around here? Most people I've seen have just stared, almost like those Apathy Syndrome cases from back in the day or something..." She pauses, yeah could very well be that, couldn't it? Chie shrugs before going on. "Oh well, I guess I shouldn't play at solving some case now! Though, uh just to be sure. None of you guys suddenly ended up in this city or anything right? I'm... A little lost on how I got here honestly!" Despite knowing nobody and having no clue, Chie still sounds fairly friendly and upbeat as she speaks to the group. The only sign of her anxious being the odd glance toward the near motionless people in alleyways.
I'll just... Go now... The suit of armor walks off, soon vanishing into the crowd.
Within the alleyway, Haruko is able to catch sight of a pair of familiar, beady red eyes, looking towards the distant tower of Tartarus. The creature they're attached to doesn't break from its vigil upon being noticed, instead, it almost seems to be waiting for something
Another wandering soul, it seems. Welcome to the Nexus, miss Satonaka. Something something Demon's Souls referance.
*Urumi looks at Chie for a moment before the mask on Urumi's face vanishes* *Urumi quickly noticed this and just looks away from the group*
She stares at Shade curiously, Nexus? And for that matter, Demon's Souls? "I have no clue what either of those are... Nexus, I thought this was just Tokyo? Granted Tokyo with a giant tower of doom, but still Tokyo." Upon saying that, she'd look up at Tartarus for a moment, hmm... Reminds her of something some of the Shadow Ops had mentioned once... Could this be Nyx?
"I think it's about time for me to head hom. I need to write a letter to my sister so she doesn't get too worried. Not sure when I'll be able to deliver them but I'll figure it out eventually. Anyway, good night, miss. I hope you think on my words at least a little." With that Leo would walk away with his hand in his pocket. It was impossible to know where he was going but he seemed in no rush to get there.
Huh? Er hey miss... Chie? *Her eyes glance back to the alley, noticing the red eyes and following their gaze to the tower* Um.... yeah the tower is new.... *She then looks back at the eyes, before thinking a simple question..* Kyubey?
Of all night's for Yu to be walking around tonight was a night in which he was walking through the town square in quite a hurry. On his face he wore a dead serious gaze as he was deeply lost in thought investigating the current situation. He hadn't seen anything of this scale since the murder in Inaba nearly five years ago and it was certainly something he knew he didn't have much time to figure out. "This isn't good at all...but how can we even do anything about this. I'll need to find a replacement."
Chie glances in the direction of Haruko's own eyes... Could of sworn she saw something, red eyes? Tch, might be a Shadow if that Tower's what she thinks. "New, yeah and not exactly a great addition if you ask me! Tch, they oughta smash it down!" She'd glance around again, this seeing... Yu!? Chie runs toward him with a grin on her face, geez at least there's someone who she knows in this crazy "Nexus". "Yu-kun! Man am I glad to see you around, judging by the look on your face I'd guess I'd say you're thinking about whatever the heck's going on around here?" She smirks at him, her voice sounding wry as she continues on./ "Well, I'm no detective quite yet. But you already know I'm there if you need any help with something! Just say the word and I'll do whatever I can."
The eyes don't move, instead watching the tower intently. They're clearly attached to a small, catlike creature Haruko would find familiar. It doesn't respond immediately, but in moments its voice can be heard Unfortunate that Leonardo left. I was quite interested in his abilities. Oh well, perhaps I'll find him another time. Is there anything you wanted to talk about? You seem rather hesitant. Maybe you simply don't want to help out after all. Not that its a problem. I'll simply be on my way. The catlike creature finally turns around, and begins walking deeper into the alley
*Seeing Chie talk to Yu gives Haruko the perfect chance to bolt into the alley, trying to catch up to the white blur against white snow.* W-wait! I never said I didn't want to help! I do!
Yu's eyes would widen as he noticed Chie come out on no where. He couldn't quite believe that he'd see another one of his old friends from before in this place. "Is that really you, Chie? You are the real Chie, right? Not some weird God in disguise like last time?" He knew his question would sound strange but what was even stranger was what happened the last time he thought he saw Chie. He would try to look at her to see if he could find any inconsistencies from what the Chie he knew looked like.
*Shade glances over to Haruko* Who are you yelling at?
Chie stares at Yu... Wait no, it's not odd considering the fact that Izanami exists. "Hah, don't worry about that! After all, no god could do this right?" A blue card forms in front of the woman's chest, she'd spin her left foot around in a twirling kick through the card as blue flames burst around here. Taking shape as a tall armored woman, a long white ponytail flows behind her and she carries a large double bladed red sword, the blade appearing akin to a laser as Chie smirks. "Gods might be able to ape how somebody looks, but I've never met one who could keep a Persona the same! Even those fakes in that stupid tournament just felt wrong the second they summoned something." Haraedo-no-Okami vanishes as her summoner grins curiously. "And, what's this about last time anyways? Some crazy god actually decided to be me for some reason?"
*Urumi just sighs and soon sits down in the snow...* *Urumi soon begins to think "So this is what begin alone on Christmas feel like which I don't even get what Christmas is"*
The creature ducks into a side of the alleyway, now well out of sight of those in the main square. its voice rings out again from its new, hidden position Well, if you're interested, you should hurry before something happens and you're useless again. It doesn't take very long after all. Plus, with the Nyx situation happening, more of the... Unique individuals are busy now. It would be quite useful for you to cover for some of them. So, I ask you again, do you wish to form a contract or not? I don't really mind either way, but the longer you wait on a choice, the worse things are going to get.
Yu seems to relax upon seeing Chie summon her Persona. He thinks about possibly telling her about the last time but he thought maybe he should just keep it to himself. The details might freak her out, after all. "It's nothing important. I should be more embarrassed considering the fake you last time wasn't much like the real you at all. It was almost like some badly written parody. Anyway, I was just gathering information about the current situation. It seems a little more serious then I thought when I first heard the name, "The Fall". Apparently there's some being on an even higher level then Izanami and what's worse is apparently they have a hostage of some kind. There's still some details I'm missing but apparently in order to save the hostage something called a Plume of Dusk is needed. I'm not quite sure where to get whatever that is though."
*She stops in her tracks after ducking to the side as well... Here it was again, the offer. A wish granted, the power to help fight Witches and other evils, but the cost would be great indeed.... And yet, in that moment, the thing that came to mind most was how she was so often told that she could only help by staying back and "training." Train what, even!? The evil, cute critter must have known the state she was in, because with only the slightest pause to think she said...* I'll do it.
Chie's eyes go wide as Yu explains what he knows, a dark look crossing her face as she glares up at the tower. "Well crap, Alright I know a little bit more than you for once... Mostly thanks to Akihiko-senpai. But, long story short?" She sighs and turns back to Yu, Plume of Dusk... That one she's not sure on, but "The Fall"? "Yeah that being is called Nyx, she's the reason the Shadow Ops old leader was well... Ya know, not around. Can't help with the Plume or this hostage sadly. But, The Fall's the end of the world they fought against back in 2009. These people must be the victims I guess, and yeah she's higher than Izanami for sure... To hear them tell it? Nyx is Death itself." She shivers at that thought, once upon a time it was stopped by the leader of SEES giving up his life. Now... Who the hell's gonna stop it now? Well, she'll do what she can regardless. She'd raise a fist into the air and force a hopeful smile. "Despite that though, I'll stand and fight if I've gotta! No way I'm laying down to die or something!"
*Hunter digs out of the snow next to Yu while holding a bag of gifts* Hey Yu. Long time and happy holidays!
Not quite death itself. Nyx, better known as Nox in Roman culture, is the primordial goddess, or titan if you will, of the night. She's not death, she's darkness which is arguably worse if you ask me. Even the king of the gods is said to fear Nyx however. What sort of opponent is you all planning on facing?
(edited by -Shade-)
The alley's side is rather nondescript, simply another dead end leading up to a fire escape. Various bits of refuse and garbage can be seen scattered within it. Near the entrance to this side trip Haruko almost immediately finds Kyubey, red, beady eyes staring at her expectantly from atop a closed trash can. Its far from a beautiful place, but it is what it is In that case, just step a little closer, close your eyes, and name your wish. I'll take the rest of it from there. After that, whatever you do with your powers are entirely up to you. Kyubey tilts his head, floppy ears hanging loosely as he awaits Haruko's choice
*Shino walks down the snow covered streets, her face buried in a book, luckily she's dressed in warm layers* Huh.... I don't remember that happening... Hana must of got me the unabridged version.
"If you want to fight Nyx head on then I'm not the one to talk to. I've found around here there's people more suited for direct fights then me. It's not that I don't think I might be able to fend of most threats but more that someone needs to play the cleanup crew. It's nice to see you though Chie. I know that if you were to help everyone in this fight that they'd be much better off." Yu would smile with sincerity as if he's glad to see someone he knows from his own reality for once.
*She steps forward... into what could best be described as the center of the little alley offlet. Closing her eyes....* I wish.... to become strong enough... to protect the people of this world, and my own. To change their fates for the better. Everyone.... even my friends.
*he climbs out of the hole and gives Yu a sword shaped gift* I made ya a Rakuyo blade if you have a sword collection.
Chie grins and rubs the back of her head, sure this place doesn't make any sense. And the world is ending, but they'll sort this mess out somehow. And Yu being around has already made her feel a bit better, maybe someone else will show up too? "Well, if you think you're better for cleanup I might be right there with you. But, I'll find something to help! And yeah, good seeing you too..." She smiles a bit sheepishly, geez it's a pain saying this but... "You wouldn't happen to know anywhere cheap to live for a while, would you? I'm sorely lacking in funding as a rookie cop, and suddenly without a job since I'm now in this city. So, better get cracking huh?"
Kyubey remains still and silent as Haruko closes her eyes. As soon as they are closed, his "ears" reach out towards the girl's chest. Her chest glows with a bright white light, bright enough to be seen within the alleyway as the creature reaches inside of it, causing some discomfort as the limbs pass through the girl. From inside Haruko's chest, Kyubey draws forth a small, glowing, egg-shaped gem, satisfied, Kyubey lets go of the gem near the girl, and it begins to fall There, accept it. This, is your destiny. The gem falls toward Haruko, though nothing major seems to have changed for now, Kyubey retracts his ears and continues watching for the moment, its fairly obvious what is left to be done
Pulling into the center of the square is an odd green train. Its origin is unknown, as is its destination. The mechanical beast lets out a roar. The horn almost drowns out the metallic screeching coming from the wheels. A small door opens on the side of the cabin, and something clad in black leaps down onto the icy pavement. Its face glints in the twinkling lights of the square, its eyes greener than the freshest grass. "This might be the first time... a Christmas without Yuuto. No time for sulking, he'd get mad if he caught me like this! Alright! Let's get celebrating!" The thing pulls out a basket of small wrapped candies, and begins tossing them about. From the open door of the train drifts an enticing smell, the smell of a Christmas Feast, but there does seem to be something odd about it. Perhaps a hidden ingredient?
*Accept it? Well, she's come this far, there's no reason to turn back anymore. She reaches her hand out and snatches the egg as it descends. Holding it tightly.... protectively....*
As soon as Haruko grabs the egg, the contract is complete. She sees a vision of a massive crater in the middle of this very city, towering above the skylines is a humanoid figure, its shape is that of your typical, faceless puppet, segmented, wooden fingers stretching out through the area. The creature is a strange, dullish-grey, like one would expect coming from a being that had merely been stenciled in with a pencil. From each of its fingers extend hundreds of strings, which stretch out into the city. The vision's focus moves from its fingers, looking upwards towards where its face would be. Another pair of strings can be seen coming around the neck of the creature itself, which extend high, vanishing into the sky. It is there that the vision ends, and Haruko is brought back to see a grinning Kyubey turning away from her and leaping up to the fire escape. The creature looks back over its shoulder at Haruko Your wish has been granted, you know have the ability to see fate and change it. But of course, changing destiny never comes easy. Especially somewhere like here. With that, the creature would leap further up the fire escape, across the rooftops and on his way OOC: Now for functionality. This wonderful little ability you wished for gives you a reason to know when others are potentially in danger, and thus can function as an excuse for you to pop up in any similar thread, so long as you don't put too much attention on it. On top of that, go ahead and decide on a weapon and fighting style, just don't go too nuts on it, since your unique ability is kinda useless in that regard. As for the vision I described, you can PM me on the Sayaka account, or DM me on Discord if you ever wish for an update on it. Good bye, and thanks for the help :3. P.S: one last note, I do plan on starting, perhaps once every other week, a dungeon much like what I promised you and Tatsuya last Saturday. I aim to start it around 10 PM CST Wednesday, and go from there, but if that is an issue for anyone, please make sure to contact me so I can work around it. Thank you for being understanding
(edited by Incubator)
*Haruko snaps back after the vision, holding her head a bit.... seeing... whatever that was was quite a rush. See fate? Then... could that have been.... no, there's no way, right? Either way, with Kyubey gone for now she finds her way out of the alley and back to the street. Looking around to see if anyone is left there.*
*Urumi was now looking at the sky...*
(edited by Urumi_Koto)
*Shino continues walking down the street, until noticing a figure come from an alleyway from the corner of her eye* Strange.... Then again, there's been stranger.
*She'd look over at Shino, before startledly saying* O-oh, hey there!
*She closes her book and glances at Haruko* I would ask why you were in a dark alley on Christmas night, but I have a feeling it probably involves some massive dilemma that will hit the Nexus soon...
A M.... Massive dilemma? *She remembers that vision she saw..... the crater, the puppet....* I think all there is is that tower.
*One of Shino's pupils suddenly changes shape, looking strangely like a scope sight cross* Let's see... Your heart rate is high, as is your body temperature. Add to the top of that, you're stuttering, and you have a strange energy residue hanging around you... *her pupil returns to normal after stating this* So, I'm pretty sure it's not just the tower... Being half ASW has its perks.
(edited by -Shino-)
Hmph, I'm not sure what it is, honestly. It was just some giant puppet thing.
*Urumi looks at the two and just sighs*
Giant puppet thing.... You know what, that's not the strangest thing I've heard before. *she then reaches into her pocket and pulls out a card, handing it to Haruko* Take this....it has my phone number on it. If that giant puppet thing or anything like it show up, give me a ring. I think it's time for me to stop sitting on the sidelines.
*She takes the card.* Sure thing. *She can't help but smile. She literally just contracted tonight and already people are treating her more seriously. This power is great!*
By the way.... You look slightly more confident than when I've seen you before... Keep that up. We have enough people with angst hanging around them as is, we need more confidence around here.
You got it....!
*Urumi gets up and begins to walk away*
*Urumi gets up and begins to walk away* Can't you just shut up? Nobody cares what your fucking character does. If you can't rp then leave this site. I'm trying to enjoy the rp then all you do is "Urumi sucks big dicks blah blah blah" Shut up! Nobody cares!
Whispers Someone has anger issues.
Fuck off..
Oh no! How did you hear me when I was whispering?!?
https://trialofheroes.files.wordpress.com/2017/01/2-kamen-rider-ex-aid-12-salty-returns.jpg?w=700
The thing is.. I didn't hear it. I saw it with my two eyes.
The thing is.. I didn't hear it. I saw it with my two eyes. >Complains about someone not RPing >Doesn't acknowledge someone making a common RP action.
Who asked you, smartass?
Seeing me whispering with your own two eyes? How did you do that? Do you have some sort of unique power?
Yeah. I have the power to break the fucking fourth wall
Oh, I see. Why didn't you say you had the power to RP badly? Such an incredible power. I am certainly jealous.
I don't care what do you think. You can fly away with your stupid anime wings.
Anime? What is anime? I do not understand this strange concept you present.
*Urumi walks around the corner and is soon gone*
Shinsuke walked up on Ryuji, And asked him if he would like to be a cat. Then Morgana got pissed off and stabbed Shinsuke in the back with his claws
