Start: Sequence

The police are at a loss. There's been rumors of disappearances. People gone without a trace. At least, they were rumors, until they began happening on a larger scale. A large crowd is gathered around the entrance to a subway platform. A few officers are searching around some empty subway cars.

A small white crystal clatters to the ground near the edge of the crowd. Someone in a trenchcoat backs away from it.

JarJar-Binks

[A cloaked figure bends down to pick it up. Previously distracted by the crowd, his attention was immediately pulled away by a sound.] "Did yousa drop dis buddy?" [The cloaked figure asks the man as he examines the crystal from under his hood.]

The man looks away, pulling out a cell phone. "Wasn't me. Dunno why I'd want some junk like that, anyway." As he speaks, he stares directly at the screen, not even glancing up.

Quintus_Geminus

The young man Quintus would appear on the scene. He would be walking as he usual does on this bright winter day before noticing the large crowd. With a sigh he would decide to investigate to see what's happened this time. "Another incident? It's non-stop here. Seems the police are pretty, well, unhelpful?"

Sayaka_Miki

One young, blue-haired girl had been looking into these disappearances the past few weeks. Of course, there was never anything at the scene by the time she got there, but that never deterred her. Today, she was passing by the subway tunnel, when she found the police nearby. Curious, she made her way through the crowd to the nearest available officer Excuse me, did somethin' happen here? I mean... I understand if its a secret or somethin' I was just.... Hoping for some sort of answers at least

"Okiday! Meesa going to keeps it!" [The hooded man places the crystal in his pocket before approaching the man. He was oddly enthralled by his screen, surely there must be something fun on it! The figure sidles up to the man and peers over his shoulder, speaking directly into his ear.] "What yousa doin buddy? Somethin funny-funny?"

One of the officers looks down at the girl and sighs. "It's pretty obvious, but everyone on this subway here... vanished. No passengers, no conductor." Another officer speaks up. "You think it's another one of those cases?" "I can't say for certain, but..." As this chatter goes on, the trenchcoat man taps his screen. Trenchcoat: "Just checking the weather. And... aw hell, go ahead and keep it. I don't really need it anyway." ooc: I'll vanish a short while to eat. My apologies.

Jiyu-Hatanaka

A blue haired teenager wearing a blue heavy coat walks next to Quintus upon seeing the commotion with the police. "What's happening? Did someone jump in front of a train or something?"

Sayaka_Miki

Based on all the people still here, Sayaka figures it probably happened very recently. So, the young girl searches her bookbag for a notepad and pencil. After turning through a few pages of other various notes, the girl arrives at an empty one and continues questioning the officer Did anyone witness this thing? I'm a bit of a reporter in-training, so I was wondering if I could get any statements before the whole official thing is released. I hope ya don't mind if I ask a few more questions, do you? Sayaka would put both arms behind her back and grin at the officer, she plays up the "cute kid" aspect in hopes of getting as much out of him as she can

Quintus would simply watch as other people began searching for clues. Perhaps it was just his mood but he wasn't exactly up for the process of interrogation. Even when he forced himself it wasn't exactly something he was comfortable with. He would instead search for an alternative entrance to the subway outside the crowd. "Maybe there's a entrance in the sewers or a different platform? Not exactly excited about the idea of walking along railing but I can probably manage if a subway car is approaching... Take this one step at a time...maybe there's a map around here?""

Starwaddle

A strange girl walks down into the subway, hearing something about a disappearing. Oh boy, another event. Been awhile since I've been around here, so I have absolutely no idea what's going on... should I ask someone? Nah, I'll just wait around and listen, maybe join a conversation. When crazy stuff starts happening then I'll take action.

"More like there's nobody in front of the train, much less on it." After that quick remark to Jiyu, the officer's gaze softens a little as he listens to Sayaka. "Nobody we've questioned saw anything, and there's nobody on these subway cars. However, it's possible someone snuck out... although it would be pretty difficult, since we had to pull the doors open once we got word of it." Fortunately, there's a map of the tunnels right by the entrance. There's even alternate entrances shown throughout the city, some of which are along this line.

swat_squad

A swat van parks near he subway, 7 swats hop out and begin patrolling the area on alert. Weapons up.

The crowd parts to let the SWAT squad through. The officers outside the car stand at attention as the squad approaches.

Note-God

"Not on my watch you motherfuckers." Hundreds of notes come flying down,surrounding the SWAT members and sticking to them,preventing them from moving.

Quintus would decide to try the closest subway along the line. He would walk over to the entrance to see if he could access the subway from there. "Hopefully this'll be okay...Feels nice to avoid all the information gathering. Anything to avoid unnecessary conversation." Quintus would smile with a hint of relief. He was by nature someone who preferred to do things his own way.

Jiyu-Hatanaka

Jiyu looks over to the officer with his arms crossed in confusion. "Huh, what do you mean that there's nobody in front of the train?"

Sayaka_Miki

Surely someone saw somethin' this platform's usually pretty busy. Sayaka takes the chance to write a few things down. "Vanish in Subway. No witnesses. Someone left car?" But if someone did sneak out, where do ya think they'd go? I mean, you probably know this place a bit better than I do. It might be worth checkin' out

Starwaddle

Hmm...going by the direction the train is facing, the culprit is in the opposite direction most likely. In that case, if they can make people disappear, I might need back up for if I get sealed or trapped or something. Using that logic, I'll wait until people start moving towards that direction before joining them.

swat_squad

"What the f-" The swat members begin struggling, one swat member breaks free and begins to help the other officers.

Note-God

"Nope." More notes appear. More and more. They start sticking to the SWAT members. Actually sticking to them. It is nearly impossible to get rid of them. "Will you listen to reason?"

ALRIGHT, ALRIGHT, WHATS GOING ON HERE!!!

OOC: This is quite bs, but fine. The swats begin struggling, the people nearby attempt to remove the notes, they make okay progress, attempting to remove the notes.

"Well, there are some doors along the sides of the tunnels, but they're pretty far apart and are usually lo-" He whirls around, finally noticing the... attacking sticky notes? "Stay calm, everyone! I repeat: Stay. Calm!" Quintus wanders off, reaching another subway entrance. It's rather empty, and there's the sound of a rattling train of cars in the distance. The subway here probably just left. There's a flicker of movement in the shadows of the tunnel.

...well, that's starting to become hilarious. Oh, I should take a picture of the map and schedule so I know where to look exactly. She pulls a strange phone-shaped device out of her pocket and takes pictures of the map and schedule. Right before she puts it back in her pocket, she gets the idea to play a game on it, which she does with great vigor.

Note-God

OOC:The Note God is an asshole who came to the Nexus purely to fuck with people. He is quite tired of the SWAT and wants to know why they are such asses. Otherwise,he doesn't have a problem. The notes all start flying away voluntarily,though the now freed SWAT team hear a singular voice in their heads. "Why do you bother with this?"

With the SWAT team's arrival it seems like this interview is over.... Sayaka can see a few of the doors, and if someone's leaving in a hurry, they probably wouldn't care which one they go through, so, Sayaka sneaks her way acros the tracks and goes through the nearest side door, if they're lucky the culprit left a few clues behind

The people back off, the swats pull out their rifles and whatnot, and begin immediately searching the area. 3 of the swats attempt to make the subway trains on lockdown, perventing anyone from coming in, or out.

Quintus_Geminus

Without hesitating much Quintus would try to jump down into the subway railings and try to approach the other platform this way rather than navigating past the crowds and police. He would notice the shadow slightly in the distance and regardless of its presence keep his focus up to summon his Persona on the off-chance another subway car was heading his way. With a sigh he would begin moving. The dark tunnels were definitely unnerving but this was the choice he made and he was too stubborn to change his mind now. "Well, guess I should take a step forward...It'll be fine, I'm sure. Dammit, I'm talking to myself again...Yes, I know you're here too, hook!"

Jiyu-Hatanaka

*Sigh* "What a waste of my god damn time... Unless I can sneak past to police and investigate this shit myself." Right when the police are distracted by the attacking notes, Jiyu tries to slip past the officers and into the subway when they're not looking.

"Ignoring me,are you?" "Clever little bastards." "Not." A loud buzzing is heard by the SWAT and only by the SWAT.

And now people are leaving...may as well follow. She suddenly disappears and then reappears on the other side of the tracks while no one was looking and walks down the path the train went. Ah, teleportation, how I love you so.

This door is unlocked, yet something is odd. On the other side of the door, there's a few red drops of what appears to be blood on the handle. Why isn't it on the tunnel side? Quintus sees a faint bit of purple that soon disappears as it fades into a wall. Voices of the people in the other platform echo through the tunnel. Jiyu and Star take advantage of the chaos to run through the tunnel. Aside from Sayaka opening a door, there's not much of note.

"I don't particularly need cheering here pal." "Actually,it's quite annoying." Suddenly,a foot long appears in Zane's arms. "Preoccupy yourself with this and leave me alone."

The swats pull out their radio and turn it on. "We need additional standby units, we are putting the subway on lockdown, over."

The strange purple coloration would definitely stir up his nerves even more as he jumps at the sudden oddity. After it fades away he would try to muster his courage after taking a few moments to collect himself. He would continue trying to walk forward but even more on guard than before. It was clear that this subway was not normal and the voices of people from other platforms would only provide mild comfort for him. "Okay...it's alright. I'm not alone, right, Hook? ... Yeah, we can handle it. Our power isn't about to be beaten by some monster or something, even if it is a ghost...maybe..."

Note-God

"Whoops." The foot disappears and in it's place comes a footlong,of the sandwich variety. "Now stop bothering me."

Sayaka_Miki

Sayaka takes her notepad back out and writes "blood on other side of doorknob. Unrelated?" before putting it away again. She might have just stumbled upon evidence of some kinda sturggle. Sayaka walks through the door, keeping her right hand over the silver ring on her left just in case its needed

swat_squad

Additional forces arrive, 2 police cruisers park near the subway, 4 police officers head down and begin reinforcing the attempt to put the subway on lockdown.

Jiyu-Hatanaka

As Jiyu makes it to the tunnel, he looks around, trying to look around in the darkness. "Heh, this reminds me a lot of Mementos, except there's no shadows and it doesn't look like literal hell."

Quintus would notice a bit of purple and red, though faintly, out of the corner of his eye. It seems to be shifting upwards. Sayaka soon notices claw marks on a wooden bod nearby, as well as some light scratches on the railing of some stairs. Another bit of blood is a few feet away from the door, but it's not much. About the level that would drip from a light scratch. Jiyu hears a voice up ahead...

Note-God

"Enjoy it." The SWAT members start hearing various other noises from laughs to screams to more buzzing. It is very loud. "Still ignoring me?"

swat_squad

The swats continue to investigate what the hell is going on, 2 of them hop down onto the subway tracks and pick their flashlights and turn them on.

Starwaddle

Star pulls a large flashlight from her pocket and turns it on. Hammerspace is also useful. Still, doesn't look like anything is around. Maybe if I go deeper? Wait, was a noise? Meh, probably just my imagination. Could also be a rat. Wait, which direction am I going? Does it matter? Probably not. And so she does walk deeper into the tunnel.

Sayaka_Miki

claw marks.... blood.... Good sign that somethin dangerous is going on. Without further hesitation, Sayaka removes her silver ring, turning it into a small, egg-shaped gem. The young girl sets down her schoolbag, taking note of its position near the doorway, and transforms into her Magical Girl outfit Alright, whatever's goin' on, I should be able ta handle it pretty easily. Now, without further ado. Sayaka draws her sword and dashes down the tunnel, eyes out for any movement in the area

Note-God

"You guys are some tough nuts to crack." "Fair enough." The SWAT members' heads clear. "I'll still be here next time!" And The Note Man's voice dissapears.

A swat member yells, while traveling through the tunnel. "Continuing INVESTAGATION! Pushing forward!

ooc: Another temporary setback: family wants me to watch something with 'em. I'll be back soon. The tunnel travelers (save for Quintus) can see the beams of flashlights behind them. They better be cautious...

Quintus would only grow more uneasy as the colors seemed to appear around him more and more. He would notice their upward momentum and finally decide to try looking towards the ceiling of the subway while moving forward slowly. "Please don't be a ghost...please don't be a ghost..."

(Suddenly, Zane is right behind the tunnel travelers) ay

Well, that's not good...oh wait, I'm a goddess, I have higher authority than the police and SWAT. At least, I'm pretty sure I do? Man, the times have changed. Still, might want to wear something darker. With a snap of her fingers, Star is suddenly wearing a black robe over her clothes. Good thing I kept this old thing. Star starts running down the tunnel, careful to not make much noise.

Jiyu-Hatanaka

Jiyu would look in the direction of the voice, just wondering who the voice belonged to. "Hmm? There's someone up ahead..." Jiyu would mumble the word "Persona..." under his breath just before a ghostly man riding a white horse appears next to Jiyu. The man on the horse would jump off of the horse and fade away just as Jiyu jumps on the horse and speeds away towards the voice, ignoring the flashlights behind him.

The swat on Star's partmof the tunnel stops for a moment. "Huh?" The swat continues forward, but at a faster pace, trying to not make noise.

Shit, probably shouldn't have snapped my fingers. Maybe some levitation would help... actually, it would if I keep close to the floor. Besides there wouldn't be sound from my feet. Star starts floating down the tunnel, keeping a grip on her robe's pockets so that nothing would fall out of them.

Six ghostly hands fly downwards towards Quintus, surrounding him from all sides... but they fly back up and sink into the ceiling along with the main body. The reason? Probably the banjo, which started playing just as the group caught up with Quintus. Of course, this would make the SWAT officers notice the group as well because banjos aren't exactly stealthy.

"Huh?" The swat officer opens his radio. "Requesting present forces, on my location. Over." The swat officer walks a bit more faster, gun drawn.

OOC: Wait, am I part of this tunnel group, or am I somewhere else after going through the side door?

Quintus upon seeing the hand would immediately begin panicking. The hands being ghostly obviously directly played onto his fears of there being ghosts. "Y-Yggdrasil Prime! Armed Mode: Hookworm! Everything! We're taking all the steps forward we can! Just get the ghosts away!" The tree would seem to grow more rapidly than usual as it doesn't even take any time to adjust its size with the environment and crashed into the ceiling instead. Four roots would also surround Quintus and whip away at anything that approached him while his hooked blades as usual appeared in his hand connected to chains that also linked to his palms. He would swing the blades directly at the ceiling without even knowing what he was aiming at. This process of swinging the blades was only when a golden serpent appeared out of his coat and wrapped around his arms to calm him down.

Yeah..from that I probably should stop (with that, he stops, but then he pulls out his 7'2 claymore covered is carvings, gold, jems and all that stuff called "the jeweled beauty")

Sayaka, turning to see all the others around her, was about to mention something when Quintus's panic is apparent. Not sure where the hooks came from, she attempts to dodge through the whipping roots to get over to Quintus Hey, calm down there. Its alright Quint. Looks like I came just in time, huh? She flashes the older man one of her usual, confident smiles, and briefly glances up to see if she can locate the source of the arms

The tree smashes into the tunnel ceiling, sending cracks scattering throughout. A flash of purple is seen again, but obscured by the tree. Quintus can sense many somethings grabbing onto the Persona, and his vision starts to blur. Anyone watching will see both his body and the Persona's glitch and flash rapidly.

So... should we start breaking things or no? I mean, I'm all for destroying public property. Especially since I can't be fined for it if I fix it.

More police converge, they are very close to the tunnel exploration group, the swat begins to dash forward, after seeing a bright flame like colour, along with some voices.

Sayaka looks over to Star, eyebrow raised, fortunately she's seen this kinda glitching before, so she knows its nothing lethal or anything. She approaches Quintus and shouts Don't worry, its not goin' ta kill ya. Its part of some weird project on digitizing people.... If you don't like the idea of bein' brought into a computer, might wanna dismiss that tree thing of yours. Somehow Sayaka still doesn't know what a Persona really is, but she does know the purple creature is hiding behind his tree. So, Sayaka looks up near where Yggdrasil touches the roof, eyes open for that flash of purple again

... I'm not hearing an answer. Seriously, I want to burn stuff with magic. It's been 3 hours since I've burned something. I could also go with slicing, dicing, chopping, cutting, slashing, and any other kind of violence. Not a murderer, just like destroying things.

Jiyu-Hatanaka

Jiyu makes it over to the rest of the exploration group but focuses on Quintus and his persona glitchjng and getting grabbed, ignoring the purple flash. "W-What the? What's happening to him?!"

Quintus would begin to be calmed upon hearing a familiar voice. "I-I'm sorry. Those hands they..." Upon the hand grabbing onto his Persona his vision would grow blurry as his form begins glitching. "I...I don't feel well...Yggdrasil Prime...Do something..." The tree still there but beginning to glitch as well drops its fruit onto the ground. The fruit would drop noticeably slower than usual.

Quintus's vision begins to fade as his body starts fading out of reality. This allows the others to see the culprit: a floating creature with six hands separate from its body. Its single red "eye" blinks at those present- and at the approaching SWATs. Sayaka would recognize this being...

...well fuck this shit. Star pulls out a gun and starts shooting at the creature. Murder murder murder murder murder murder yay! Still not a murderer, just like killing things that are obviously dangerous and probably evil!

Quintus would simply drop to the ground staring at his own hands. Fear would fill his eyes as he could feel himself disappear. "No...no, no, no! I...I don't want to stop existing...I don't want to be erased again! Why, why! Even when I try to change is this always what I'm doomed to return to..." He would begin to cry as this was all he felt he could do now. His fears faced him directly as his existence was once more put into question. "Hook, I'm sorry...leave me behind. You shouldn't have to fade away too..."

Oh c'mon (he grabs quin and puts him on his shoulder, walking away from the creature) YA CAN BE DEPRESSED LATER, C'MON

Seeing Star start shooting, Sayaka leaps into the gun's path, forming a circle of musical notes to block the attack while she shouts WAIT, STOP, its not evil. The thing's name is.... I actually don't really remember, Sam called it Shodan. Sayaka would wave at the creature on the ceiling, it wasn't such a bad thing last time she met it, so she would try shouting to it HEY, WE'RE GONNA NEED YOU TO STOP, THIS GUY DOESN'T WANNA BE DIGITIZED, JUST LET HIM GO FOR NOW, I KNOW YOUR MOM MIGHT WANT YOU TO DO THIS, BUT YOU SHOULD REALLY RETHINK THINGS. FOR ME, OK?

Jiyu-Hatanaka

Jiyu would jump off of his horse persona just as he sees the six armed monster and pull out his flintlock revolver. "It looks like we have to take care of this six armed freak!" Upon hearing Sayaka, Jiyu would put his gun away "Oh, so it's on our side..."

She stops shooting. Oh...okay then. Sorry, force of habit. It looked evil. I'll make sure to use rubber bullets next time. Wait, am I using rubber bullets right now? Probably not. Am I going to stop asking myself questions? Yes. When? Right now.

The swats arrive at he scene, their jaws drop, 3 of the squad, 2 being the officers and the other being the swat stay, the rest retreat.

Upon being shot, the creature lets go, returning to a ghostly form as Quintus turns back to normal. But... Mom says I should do it... But it doesn't have much of a choice. There are multiple very strong people here... and the guy it tried to digitize looks so upset... ...Okay. I won't digitize this one. With that, it phases through the ceiling. Try as they might, nobody would find it tonight, no matter how hard they searched... ...although this is at least a very strong hint as to what occurred here. ooc: And with that, I must say goodnight, and happy new year!

So... anyone mind explaining what just happened? Because I'm kinda lost here. I don't need all the details, just a short summary of what's going on would do.

Sayaka looks up at the ceiling as the creature goes, that mom of his sounds like she's lonely or somethin' being a program. She reaches out, as though trying to touch the thing, but as it leaves... Sayaka sighs and looks at the others I wouldn't say he's a friend, more like a confused kid. Its a computer program come to life with the ability to "digitize" people, bringing them into a computer network. His mom's name is "Coda", and for some reason they really want him to keep doin' it.... We might have to go in there if we want answers, but for now.... Sayaka runs down the tunnel to get to where she left her schoolbag. Once there she'd write down a few notes on what happened today before continuing on her way

Quintus would return to normal as he falls to the ground. He lets out a breath of relief before getting back up and recalling Yggdrasil prime. "I...I'm alive? What...just happened anyway?" He would look around to ensure that everything was actually back to normal. There was still fear in his eyes but it had mostly subsided for now as he looks over himself as well to make sure everything is okay.

Okay then. I'll be sure to look up digitization equipment on Amazon when I get home. For now, I'm gonna go look for decorations for my shrine. Later. Star suddenly disappears...
