What Stands Out To You When Picking A New Watch?
You know when a season of anime starts or new shows suddenly appear and your still deciding what to try? Yep it's that time of year people and I wish to know what stands out first to you when picking something new. Personally when I am lurking about looking for new shows to get into I first take notice of the aesthetic and music. I really love all kinds of animation and enjoy seeing new styles every season. This especially stands out to me if I follow long running shows that usually develop in style. I also take notice of the musical score since music is a great addition to any viewing experience.

It tells the time. That's a very important, must have feature when I pick a new watch. It's also very good when it attaches to my wrist. Such a thing stands out very much when I choose a new watch.
I don't try new animes on a whim. Only if they're new adaptations I'm familiar with in one way or another, for me solo. Other than that, I watch a lot of review shows and if I hear good things about something new, from either a critic or friend, then I'll also check them out. Apart from that, new anime doesn't particularly interest me. The biz is in the toilet right now.

Heh you forgot the secret forget me darts my friend~ Any true watch must have some amnesia gimmick so you can start a spy career in style.

You know the whole three episode rule deal or studio hounding.
I usually read anime descriptions and that mainly catches my attention. When I first started getting into anime, the Funimation channel was still a thing on Fios, so that's kinda how I discovered new shows. Word of mouth rarely works on me. If something is constantly shoved in my face, I won't watch it. Don't know why I'm like that, I'm just not into watching things that are popular in that moment in time, which is why I haven't seen One Punch Man and it took me a while to get into Attack on Titan.
I usually read descriptions and try suggestions I hear from word of mouth, however i never knew about the 3 episode rule, I ussually decide by episode 4 or 5
I've got a few rules I follow when looking for new Anime to watch. First, I'll watch pretty much anything from Studio Trigger. Kill La Kill was one of the first anime I watched, but I really became a fan of the studio when I saw a CrunchyRoll Summer Simulcast panel promoting Kiznaiver and Space Patrol Luluco back at Momocon 2016. Second, I follow CrunchyRoll and Funimation on Twitter. They'll usually do sizzle reels of shows premiering each season, and if I see a show that piques my interest, I'll look into it. Third, if I can't find any new shows I want to watch, I'll just take around 30-45 minutes browsing CrunchyRoll to see if anything has an interesting poster or description. If it does, I'll watch the first 10 or so minutes of the pilot to see if the show catches my interest. Fourth, I'll look into sequels of existing anime or adaptations of IPs that I already enjoy, such as Food Wars (for the former) or Persona (latter).

You know the whole three episode rule deal or studio hounding. Watching anime isn't a priority anymore. I have other things to do. Sites like MAL have grossly inaccurate ratings, reviews, etc, hence why I prefer word of mouth to be from one trusted source. I forgot to mention too, I'll watch animes given to me by friends or whatever, even if they just pick them out on a whim for me. I've actually found a lot if great stuff like that, including my favorite anime series of all time, Shakugan No Shana, because I never would've checked them out otherwise, and they're too obscure to be on review series. But that's life, really. Luck of the draw. Right place, right time.
Generally I go off of recommendations from friends. I know a lot of people who are super into anime, so I can generally get a good idea of what people are watching each season. When I'm on my own though, I tend to look for shows with a nice aesthetic or appealing character designs, just cuz that's really the most I can go off of. Sometimes I'll watch based on the Crunchyroll description, but generally if it looks pretty I'll watch. I never really liked the whole 3 episode test. Yeah, it generally takes 3 episodes to figure out what the main story is, but I find that I can figure out whether or not a production will be competently made in just 1 episode. No show I like has ever had a first episode that I think was poor.
