A Devil in the Mountains? An Unlikely Meeting Between Hunter and Persona User
Deep in the mountains near the city, a monstrous cry can be heard and for a split second, the form of what could only be described as Satan can be seen above the trees. Upon disappearing the temperature temporarily drops before returning to normal. A man wipes some sweat off of his brow and looks to the sky in satisfaction. Delta takes a deep breath and once more summons Satan to appear. Not expecting anyone else to be around, he leave the Persona out and continues to go about his training.
A young man in a red coat wanders the mountains... Rumor has it some powerful demon is wandering around in this place, but what are the odds right? "Man, I really hope this isn't just a goose chase! I've been getting bored since that last fight. Days ago I swear, no-" Dante's muttering is cut off as he looks downward and spots... Is that the frigging Devil or something!? Holy crap, he'd better take care of this one before somebody gets hurt. A black blade with a skull on its hilt forms in his hands, Dante quickly leaping through the air and attempting to stab his blade down into the demon's chest with a falling strike. "Ya know, when I hear rumors about wild demons running around I don't expect to meet any! Name's Dante pal, pro demon hunter. Now do me a solid and don't die too fast, this is my entertainment after all!"
What the- Delta's surprised outburst is interrupted by the random man with a sword stabbing his Persona. The damage dealt unexpectedly hits him and Satan roars in pain before disappearing. Delta recovers quickly and jumps back from this crazy guy that came out of nowhere. A purple and blue mask appears on his face that he rips off almost instantly to summon Beelzebub behind him. He addresses Dante with more calm than one would expect a man that was suddenly attacked to have. Who are you and why are you attacking me? If I don't like your answer I won't forgive you so easily. Taking a defensive stance, he stare Dante down and watches him closely for any sudden moves.
Dante stares at the man... Wait a damn minute, these things don't feel like normal demons at all, in fact, he can't tell what the fuck they are. Just that this guy seems to be in control of them. "Name's Dante, word on the street was this place happened to be infested with "dangerous demons"... But, those things of yours don't seem like demons I've fought before, not wild enough, not enough burning desire to kill." He sighs and rubs the back of his head with his free hand, muttering something about checking better next time before turning back to Delta. "Alright, since I'm pretty sure you're not trying to destroy the world with demonic forces or something... How about we keep going anyways, without trying to kill each other, but I'm bored as hell and I wanna see how you guys from around here stack up with my powers!" He'd grin at the other man, stance showing he's clearly waiting for Delta to attack in kind... Bit of a cheap shot before so might as well let the guy get his bearings if they're gonna do this.
Infested? I- Standing back up and sighing he continues. And here I thought nobody came up here at this time... Well then, it's been a while, but I could use a work out like this. I'm called Delta, Dante. I hope you're as good as you seem, I don't intend to hold back. Beelzebub raises his staff and an orb of darkness appears in the air above Delta. Splitting into four pieces, they attach to Delta's limbs and form claws on his hands and feet. With a brief, slight grin, Delta rushes at Dante as Beelzebub takes to the skies. When the distance between them is crossed he launches his right palm towards Dante's chest while stomping his right foot on the ground. The darkness covering his right foot seeping towards Dante fairly slowly.
Dante grins upon hearing that, better not hold back against a Son of Sparda! "Alright then, here's to a fun fight I say!" As Delta's claws begin to form, Dante's sword vanishes. A set of gauntlets and greaves forming upon his hands. A wicked set of claws rests upon both, and light energy flows through them. Dante would slam his own right foot, send a quick blast of glowing light to meet the seeping darkness of his foe. "Two can play at the punching and kicking game! Though I won't lie, Beowulf isn't something I use that much... Meh, it'll be fine." His tone is flippant and cheery, utterly unconcerned by anything that might happen in battle.
The flash of light causes Delta's darkness to retreat back onto his body, but it doesn't dissipate. I assure you my martial arts make my attacks more than mere punches and kicks. Sounding a bit annoyed at Dante's simplification of hand to hand, Delta would duck low and quickly rise upwards, attempting to claw at the demon hunter's chin. Following up by pushing his elbow towards Dante's face, Beelzebub begins forming spheres of darkness above the two that hover in the air. If you aren't going to take me seriously you'll be getting acquainted with the ground really soon.
The first blow is dodged easily enough, a quick duck down allow Dante to send it flying above his head. The second he's already rising up in a blur as it moves, it'd slam into his chest rather than face, sending the hunter stumbling back for a moment with a chuckle. "Lighten up! I don't take anyone seriously even when they want me dead ya know, it's part of the charm!" Despite his words, the man does appear just a bit more serious after Delta's landed a good hit on him. Beowulf vanishes, replaced with a pair of handcannons, one with black metal, one silver, both with polished wood and the words "Ebony and Ivory" upon the barrels. He'd dart backward in a blur as they take shape, aiming to put some range between himself and Delta as a red glow forms in the gun's barrels. "Now, I don't like what that Not-Demon is cooking, so how bout a counter offer!" His movements cease about 40 feet away from Delta, the red glow in his guns turning to a pair of mid-sized demonic energy blasts that rush right for the large fly in front of him. Blasting towards the skull of the beast as he follows up by pumping out much smaller quicker shots down its chest before settling on Delta.
In response to Dante shooting at him, Beelzebub sends the six spheres of darkness it was able to make right at Dante instead of going purely on the defensive. The fly lord manages to create enough darkness on the head off his staff to clash with the energy blasts, but it isn't enough to stop them. The Persona is hit hard by the flurry of bullets as well, causing it to vanish for the damage. You might have been better just focusing on me you know! While Dante was occupied shooting at Beelzebub, Delta channeled the darkness all to his right hand and condensed it into a ball. While the hail of bullets were sent at his Persona, Delta placed his left hand on his right arm to brace for the recoil and launched the dark energy right at Dante. Without missing a beat, he took cover behind a nearby tree to deal with the pain of another Persona breaking as he called forth another mask, this one an icy blue color.
E&I vanish as the man leaps up into the air, two of the spheres fly under him as he's already moved up. A glowing red platform forms beneath his legs, allowing the man to once again evade by kicking off it and right toward the tree Delta's hiding behind. The final pair, however, isn't so easily evaded as they'd smash into him mid-dash, this serving to stun Dante long enough that he tumbles back down in a roll... Only for the orb Delta had formed to slam into the man, he'd shake his head in pain for a moment, had worse to be sure, but that ain't fun. "Ya got a point there, maybe I need to get a giant bug swatter or something instead!" That cover is pretty neat, but he's got a decent sense of where Delta is... A large high caliber sniper rifle forms in Dante's hands, he'd actually aim the thing toward an odd rock formation and fire off a quick shot, the bullet bouncing around and somehow gaining even greater speed before it rushes into the side of a cliff, and bounces down toward Delta's left shoulder.

A bug swatter won't help you much with this next one! Hearing the shot but not seeing where the bullet was, Delta rips the mask off of his face and summons Snowxodia, the mechanical giant mech made of ice, in front of the tree he was hiding behind. As he's about to make another remark, the bullet slams into his shoulder from all it's weird ricocheting across the terrain. Gah! Not used to taking bullets to any part of his body, Delta silently curses letting Beelzebub break. Freezing the wound by channeling Snowxodia's power, Delta has Snowxodia point it's left fist at the demon hunter. Try this on for size! Ymir's fist! The left hand of the mech flies off and rockets towards Dante while Delta regains his composure and dashes around the trees to get closer to Dante himself while attempting to remain hidden.
"Heh, wouldn't expect too many bugs to be around!" He would say more, but the giant fist of ice being aimed at him warrants a reaction, Spiral vanishes into the air and a pair of curved blades forms in his hands, one blue, one red, and both start to speak up before Dante slams their hilts into each other. "Don't bug me you two, not in the mood for it just... LIGHT UP THE NIGHT!" From the blue blade, wind begins rushing behind Dante and casually takes the shape of a roaring cyclone. From the red, flames burst forth and begin spinning inside the raging cyclone. By this point, the fist has nearly reached him, but Dante quickly sends his firey winds rushing toward it as he spins in place with the blades to rotate his attack. Fire and Wind clashing against ice and causing the construct to melt, of course in his haste to dispose of that, Dante hasn't notice Delta at all.
With it's left hand melting, Snowxodia would continue it's assault regardless and point its remaining hand at Dante. A blast of icy wind would fire from it to clash with the fire cyclone once the left hand had completely melted away. Delta would get to a tree behind Dante as he fought against the Persona mech and watch for a second before rushing in to hit him with a sneak attack. When he gets behind the demon hunter, Delta kicks him towards Snowxodia and has the Persona make a grab for him. Don't hate me for this one Dante, but you're a lot tougher than I could have anticipated. Snowxodia, Eternal Ice Age! Regardless if the Persona grabbed Dante or not, it would begin to glow brightly before exploding in a burst of energy, meant to freeze everything besides Delta in the immediate area at the cost of his Persona. Dazed from the expenditure of energy, Delta staggers back and breathes heavily before focusing his eyes to see the result. Maybe I shouldn't have decide to try that here. Fixing the plant life is going to be a pain...
Dante's eyes go wide, geez he wasn't expecting that much power... Ice covers the man despite the burning winds swirling around him, for a moment he's simply entirely still inside of the ice... Until flames suddenly begin blazing from the red blade in his hands, his skin would transmute to something more like scales as a series of spikes pointing out. grow from his back, something akin to fins grows on his shoulders, a set of claws can be seen on his feet, and his head is that of a fish-like beast covered by a "helmet" that's just more spikes pointing behind it. The fires grow and grow, finally ending in him standing in a puddle of melted water and steam as he looks over at Delta. "Gah, you're strong as hell clearly... Are you even human man? Or is this the part where ya bust out a Devil Trigger of your own on me?" In contrast to his words before, by this point Dante seems impressed with such a display. He'd quickly rush over to his foe, a blur of motion that few could see, let alone keep up with. The elements of his blades trailing behind him as he moves, he'd toss the blue one behind Delta, a whirling cyclone forming on it and sending the thing rushing right at the man's back in an effort to knock him forward. With the red sword in hand, Dante slams it forward in a great gout of flames. An upper slice from the weapon sending a huge wave of fire blasting toward Delta, only to meet with the winds in the middle and become even larger for a moment as it's fanned, if also causing it to burn away faster and leave neither attack behind when he's done. "Phew, wasn't expecting to bring out something like this, but damn if I'm not glad to see people worth fighting!"
Devil Trigger? Can't say I know what you're talking about, but there was this one time I transformed a bit. Not sure if it really made me stronger though, hah. While sounding a little nonchalant, Delta's stance is clearly not as sharp as it was earlier, and he's very much caught by surprise at Dante's increase in speed. Not able to fight against the winds, he's pushed into the fire as it's fanned by the cyclone. Delta nearly faints from the intensity of the flames, but as he's falling to the ground his eyes snap back open and he catches himself. Left on his knees, Delta unconsciously summons Ramses II behind him. The Pharaoh looms over Delta while pointing his staff at Dante. Bolts of lightning strike down from the heavens at his position and around Delta while he struggles to his feet. Ramses you always try an save the day... Let's show him what we can do. Not looking like he can put much more power into another attack, Delta is picked up by Ramses and struck by a bolt of lightning sent from the Persona's staff. Delta is thrown towards Dante by Ramses while the lightning remains inside his body and with the last of his strength he aims a kick at the transformed demon hunter. Neo Lightning Dive! The lightning inside of him encases his entire body en route to Dante and for a split second he seems to become one with the electricity itself, but it was likely just a trick of the light. Landing the hit would transfer all of the energy into Dante before Delta falls to the ground unable to get back up for a while. Missing would result in the lightning violently erupting out from him to try and catch Dante with the blast before ending the same way.
"So... You're a human, damn and I thought Lady was tough for someone who ain't part demon. Magic or not, I'm actually impressed!" That's quite a bit of energy in this one attack... It's clearly a last-ditch effort, and Dante would easily side-step the blow despite its high speed, he's still the faster one in this form... What he didn't expect was the resulting electric blast that would rush out behind him, that easily slams into the man and sends him down to one knee for a moment. Arcs of energy flowing through his body as Dante winces, though thanks to his Devil Trigger's powers it can't put him down for any real length of time, the pain is still quite something. Either way, he drops back to normal and turns around to face Delta. "Anyway that was one hell of a fight, in fact I was wonde-" Upon seeing the man knocked out Dante sighs, geez overdoing it like that is something he'd pull. Well, despite grumbling about it a bit he'd pick Delta up. Not really wanting to leave someone knocked out and no doubt injured alone in the mountains, instead he'd drag the guy along to his shop/place of living. And upon Delta stirring, he'd be asked to join a little team for some kinda tournament, Dante ain't sure of the goals, but the name is... "Personas Can Weep".
