Persona 4 Golden: A Tall Tale
[In the center of Shibuya a grey haired man pushes his glasses up to his face as he adjusts his black jacked, looking over the Nexus as he summons a Golden card in his hand. Laughing to himself as he crushes it. Then. Just like that. Thousands and thousands of Golden Towers rise up from the floor, demolishing buildings and other structures, nothing being a match for the Golden Armada. The most curious thing however is the common people. They seem to gather around the towers, no fear in their eyes. Only a Golden Hue about them. Chanting mindless whispers. The only people seemingly unaffected are those attuned to magic or some other mystical thing. The man in charge of this catastrophe stands in the middle of Shibuya square before a gaping portal, a threatening aura surrounding him as he awaits for those who oppose him to gather...]
A similar looking man would begin approaching. His face would take on a serious expression as truth shined in his eyes. He would speak confidently as he took up his blade and pointed it towards Golden Yu. "Thought you might be up to something but I wasn't sure when you'd act. Either way, don't think I'll let you get away with whatever this is. I almost feel responsible for what you do in a way so I'll be the one to stop you if I have to." Yu would look directly at Golden Yu waiting for a response. There was no hesitation in his eyes for once as if he was facing off against a shadow rather than a person.
Yet another grey-haired person jogs into the area, they begin panting, as though out of breath, perhaps they had even run the whole way here, or maybe they just weren't so used to physical exercise. After taking a moment to wipe the sweat off of their forehead, the teen stands up straight, a goofy smile across his face as he looks at the other Yus Took you long enough. Kinda thought this whole "Yuniverse" thing mighta blown over. Or maybe hoped is the word. Oh well, there's no avoiding this, is there? The teen seems to relax a little, stretching both of his arms behind his back, however, one might notice his left remains very close to the katana at his side, as though ready to spring into action at any moment
Reading a book in a nearby park, Blanc feels a rumble, only to now see golden towers standing in the once normal skyline. She stands up, noticing the common people, with their golden glow and gathering. "Wh-what..? Is this... no, they never had anything like this. Hmm... it wouldn't hurt see what the cause is." Blanc decides to start today at her max, quickly absorbing the power of her remaining Share energy and going HDD, materializing her axe before swinging it over her shoulder. After flying off towards Golden Yu's location, drawn by his aura, she drops down next to the other Yus, looking between the three. "Hey, why do you guys look so similar. This some sort of personal feud? I'll get out of your hair if it is, I understand."
A man with brown hair and a red coat walks into the area. After looking around for a while he'd just sigh to himself. A gleaming silver revolver takes shape in his hands and he walks forward, glancing between the two versions of Yu curiously. "Huh... Yu, uh other Yu who I've only met briefly. And then we have the shadow of course. Well, there's nothing to be done now except fight I'd guess?" He looks toward the man behind this madness, that annoying Shadow with an ego the size of a blimp. "But hey, maybe we can talk things out instead? I'd prefer to avoid a pointless battle if we can, so why don't we all just agree to disagree, you let these people go, and cease any attempts at taking over from here on. Then we can all get along!" The sarcastic tone reveals he's nearly sure this won't work, yet the offer is in fact there. If G.Yu were to stop then Tatsu would have no reason to fight... Still, he's not fool enough to put his gun down.
G.Yu watches the crowd gather before him as he stands with authority, lacking a weapon or the typical Golden Card he holds onto, after waiting for everyone to gather he clears his throat and begins to speak to people with a strong booming force behind his voice. Ah. Yu Narukami. You should feel no guilt. It isn't too late to join us. I offer my hand to you. I have shouldered a great burden so that you will not have to. I shall bring Salvation to this universe and beyond! To create my perfect Yuniverse! There is still time. You can still escape with us. That goes to the others as well! Another Yu.. No I was simply biding my time. Today is a very special day. Do you know what it is? It holds a lot of significance for me... No no no. This concerns everyone. Today I bring the residents of this world to a haven! A safe place where no harm shall fall on them! This old world will be wiped anew to make room for the chosen ones, and I have chosen all of you! Everyone will be safe under my rule. You must simply join us. Tatsuya.. Your violence is unnecessary, try as you might. Conventional warfare will only get the innocents killed here. You don't want that do you? An entire world's blood on your hands? Haven't you spilt enough blood? I have. Please do not attempt to fight. I have no desire for combat, nor do I have any desire to give up my goal.
Yu would simply stare at Golden Yu in disbelief. His motives made no clear sense. He would once again speak up to Golden Yu in a calm tone trying to gain more info on his exact goals. "What exactly would you be protecting them from? There have been incidents here in the Nexus that have put people in danger but how can you possibly guarantee their safety? Besides, I've seen first hand what your influence does to people. You only wish to expand the Yuniverse for your own selfish reasons. Give me one good reason why any of us should trust you here."
Yu chuckles lightheartedly, looking over to Blanc, never seen them before, for now he bows low to the ground, gesturing to himself, Yu, and Yu Pleasure to meet you, my name's Yu Narukami. And so is his. And his. Its a weird multiverse thing, can't say I understand it all myself, but unless you also want to legally change your name to Yu Narukami I guess you might want to disagree. Yu straightens up, cracking his knuckles as he turns back to G. Yu Well, today is my birthday, but I understand that much probably isn't very consistent across universes, so I don't think it applies to you. Finally, Yu stretches his arms towards the sky, taking a deep breath as he quips If we'd rather not solve this with violence then its obvious the only solution is a dance-off, that way everyone will be happy and not a single soul will end up stabbed
Blanc just rolls her eyes as she hears G. Yu's almost comically ill-intentioned plan. "Ooo~oh, a haven, huh? Unfortunately for you, that's my job! And I sure as hell ain't letting you do it this way! I can see what it does to the people! You're a sick bastard, y'know that?!" Blanc spins her axe around once again, bringing it down in front of herself and slamming it into the ground, ready to smash his head like a watermelon in the middle of July.
The man sighs... A whole world of blood huh? There's another way, and it sure as hell isn't giving up. "Like Yu said, none of us have any reason to trust you in the least bit now do we? I've seen it too, and if your idea of safe involves everyone just being like you... I'd prefer the danger." He takes his free hand, gun still held in the right as he flicks on a lighter using the left. "So come on Golden Yu, give us a reason we should trust you. I'm not exactly holding my breath over here, but I'll at least hear what you have to say." Despite his serious words, the man would smirk a bit upon hearing A.Yu's quip. A dance-off, yeah right.
I need not your trust. Trust is worthless to me. What I need from you is compliance, I need you to follow my will. If everyone follows my will no harm shall fall upon anybody. I've thought long and hard. For a solution to the worlds problems. Hunger, war, death, disease, and inequality. You wish to rid these things as well do you not? The answer to remove these things is simple. Having everyone become Yu. If everyone is the same, then nobody is different, wars will not happen as there will be no conflict, hunger will not exist as everyone will share, disease can be contained and cured at breakneck speeds as everyone contributes. Nobody is poor or worse off as everybody is the same. It's a perfect world. Birthday, an insignificant day compared to the magnitude of what it truly is. It is Golden week. I am at the height of my power. The Yuniverse has unlocked itself to me, giving me ultimate power. Lvl 1 Izanagi has evolved to Lvl 1 Izanagi No Okami. With this power I shall wipe away the Nexus and remove filth from this universe. Saving as many as I can, their physical forms cannot survive the transportation, so I shall rip their souls out with those towers and bring them to a new body. A Yu body. Then at the end of this week any left here will be wiped away in an Armageddon releasing all my power. Nothing will survive. Then I shall await the next Golden Week to come around and the cycle shall continue. Hpmh.. I have already succeeded once before. I would like to see the fruits of your labour. I see nothing of this haven. The Yuniverse already exists and has revealed it's power to you! You would be a fool to refuse. You may prefer the danger.. Then you shall be wiped away with the rest of this corrupt place. I have no reason for you to stick around as a thorn on my side. G.Yu then adjusts his glasses again before moving to the side of the strange Golden Vortex, pointing within the endless corridor However, due to the contract I must uphold. You all have some semblance of hope in stopping me. Not with a battle, not yet. You all will experience what I have gone through to reach the Core of the Yuniverse, there you will have a chance to destroy my Utopia. When you enter I take no responsibility. You will suffer how I have suffered.
Blanc grits her teeth and brings the axe back behind herself, bolting towards G. Yu. "Like hell we're gonna play your dumb game! Just fight us or die already!" The goddess tries to bring her massive white axe straight down on G. Yu, aiming to end this conflict before they're forced to do anything ridiculous.
Yu would finally hesitate for a moment. To go through what Golden Yu has? He wondered if such an experience was really one that would be worth the price. If the experience changed him in an irreversible way so that he may end up like Golden Yu then it'd all be for naught. He already knew that Golden Yu was delusional. To think he had strayed so far from the truth was something Yu couldn't understand. He was Yu too, wasn't he? So, he must know what they've been through as well fighting Izanami while trying to save his past friends. In the end, Yu knew that there was only one way to end this. He'd have to take the dive regardless of how it might change him. As long as he held onto the truth he knew that he'd be able to pull through this. "I'm guessing beating you here would do nothing but this contract you've suggested, it seems strange but I don't really see why you'd lie right now. You hold all the cards right now and while I don't agree with you, you also don't seem the type to deceive others. We're both Yu Narukami whether I'd like to admit it or not." Yu would look over towards Tatsuya and the other Yu who had arrived shortly after him. "What do you two think? I'd hate to make any drastic choices right away and playing by their rules seems risky, but I don't really see another choice here."
Oh, did someone say loopholes? Yu keeps up his nonchalant grin as he assesses the situation, it could easily be a trap, but on the other hand it might be the easiest way to get past this whole mess too. Worst comes to worst its still basically a fight Really, I don't think we've got much to lose going for this. Besides, I know something you don't. Yu winks at G. Yu before confidently declaring to those around This isn't the first time we've danced after all, and you know what they say about settling scores right? Second Verse, same as the first.
Tatsuya just sighs, he's all for killing first in most cases. But in this one... That won't work, so they'll have to play this stupid ass game and find a way to win it. He can toss out whatever suffering he'd like, but in the end, it won't help matters at all. "Sure thing pal, my new ally's attempt to kill you aside we'll go through your little tests. And in the end? I'll cut your damn head off myself without a second thought, toss whatever suffering you'd like but I can assure you I've been through enough that it won't matter." He'd look at Yu, of course, the idea of it being a trap comes to mind... But as Yu himself said. "The guy has no reason to lie unless he just enjoys being a douchebag that is. Personally, I'm not banking on that one so I say we go for it. " As for the one in white, he's just got this feeling... No, not a feeling, it seems like a simple fact that there's no ending it here. "Anyway, when you're done swinging the ax around I guess we'll get to the task at hand."
Disappointing... G.Yu frowns at CPU White Heart attacking and gets chopped in half, his body disintegrating into the air. After a little while however another identical copy appears as he adjusts his coat, setting it straight before staring towards a group of npcs as he crushes a card Lvl 1 Izanagi No Okami. Then, the iconic persona appears before him and sends a shockwave towards a group of people, shocking them to death as they fall to the floor. Cold. The other people not even batting an eye. They wanted to live in a society far far away from this. G.Yu speaks again after the attack with a sigh Try as you might. I have a Yuniverse behind me. An infinite amount of bodies at my disposal, your killing an innocent by killing me, and forcing my hand on the innocents around you. I do not wish to end more lives but if that is the cost for my Utopia it shall be done. The ends always justify the means. That is correct. I do not wish to deceive you. I've been completely transparent my whole stay here. I still uphold my Truth as dark as it may seem to you. Comply and I will uphold my end of the bargain. As another has done for me. My suffering is one that will strike true to us wildcards. Drastic times called for drastic measures, and this was my measure. When you are ready you may enter. G.Yu then stands to the side of the vortex and awaits the others to enter. Standing still and unmoving. Statue like and dead pan.
Blanc simply stands there in horror of what she'd caused. Really, she had half a mind to cut him down where he stood... before remembering the faces of the innocent civilians who'd lose their lives if she let her anger get the better of herself. She takes a deep breath, before looking back to G. Yu. "Y-you... fine. I'll play your game, bastard. But the moment I get a chance, I'm tearing you in half." Blanc simply stares at the bodies, head lowered as she walks into the vortex, her axe de-materializing to keep her movement more free.
Yu looks out to the crowd, more specifically the few who are gone now, it was.... Rather sudden, and it seemed so unneeded. The young man shudders for a moment, before clearing his head. Yu sighs and steps into the portal, maintaining a cheery, loud tone to hide his shaking No reason to make this take any longer than it has to. Lets all head in, get this party started, and who knows maybe even make some friends along the way. Sounds like a GREAT time to me right?
The man just walks into the portal, he doesn't have a word to spare for any of this crap any longer. Nor does he really have any planning to work out since they don't know what's inside. For now, all he can do is enter the portal and look around carefully, checking all his sides, above, below. However, upon hearing A.Yu he'd look back and pause before walking in. "Great time right... You alright over there? I'm not the best with people or anything, but seeing that isn't the most pleasant thing." The deaths are blood churning really, but he's seen it in bigger numbers and worse methods. It's another reason to stop this madman. But in the end, he can't say it scares him or anything. With that cheerful thought, Tatsuya walks into the portal.
Yu would walk up to the portal last. Something didn't feel right about all this and it wasn't Golden Yu's intentions either. He had to think about what they were doing for a moment, the plan was to possibly destroy an entire world. A world full of copies of himself apparently. He would take one final look at Golden Yu and speak what was causing such a sour taste to appear in his mouth. "I don't want this to end with the destruction of this Kingdom you've built or even with your death. Things don't have to be like this and you're already aware. When we reach the end and you know we will you should give yourself up peacefully. Otherwise, you and I both know this won't end well." Having finished giving out his thoughts, Yu would walk through the portal to whatever might await.
G.Yu watches the group enter with a black stare, he had nothing to say to them. However when Yu enters and speaks to him, he grabs him by the arm and speaks a few words of wisdom before letting go, the vortex sucking Yu in You know I cannot do that. It's simply not apart of our game. You play hope, and I play despair. That's how it's always been. There can only be one winner. The others must lose. Meanwhile the rest of the party enters in the vortex a rush of memories hit them, a train ride to a town out in the country side, staying a year in a place known as Inaba with your Uncle Dojima and niece Nanako, going to a new school called Yasogami high with a horrible teacher "King Moron", a quirky friendly person named Yosuke, a spunky tomboy named Chie and a mysterious other girl clad in red known a Yukiko, a string of strange murders, a strange alternative world inside a TV, awakening to a persona as well as Yosuke, meeting a bear, and finally at the end of all the memories, the party finds themselves in a blank room with various doors, each titled a different name. The ones available would be Magician, Chariot, High Priestess, Justice and Hierophant... End of episode one, please await episode two
