As for the other things:
-Akechi cameo is to give him more of a spotlight so maybe we'd think he's not the traitor. They didn't need to do that sicne it's unnecessary, but that's what I think they're getting at. Still, is it just me or does he seem to having more of a character built then even the supposed Main Characters. I wouldn't be surprise if it's Akechi that kills Yaldabaoth in the end in place of Ren at this rate.
- I think they gave the budget from animating the shadow's being damaged to actually adding the game background. Either way, pretty unimpressive.
- I'll play devils advocate and say that skipping or cutting down on things is normal for adaptions like this. I will, however, say that the still animations on some of the characters (Like Ren in a lot of the scenes he's in having the same expression for the entire scene) is getting really noticeable. This is the first episode I've noticed it without having to be explicitly shown or told about it.
- The Yusuke scene was more built up in the game then just an off hand mention before they confront him. Still, it was a post credit scene, so maybe they'll redo it and flesh it out in the next episode.
