Armory, like, maybe 13?
A beautiful summer sunset fills the sky, the horizon now a deep orange hue. Yet, despite the heat, some stay hard at work. Emerson, in his infinite wisdom, decided to stay inside the hot forge and work all day long. Now on to another batch of weapons, being a plethora of axes, he wipes the heavy layer of sweat from his forehead with a nearby cloth, before leaning over onto the counter. "Whew, what a day... A lot of work got done. Once this one's finish, I think I can call it a day and go enjoy the air..." Stretching his arms as he walks, Em flips the sign to 'open' on the door, before walking back to behind the counter, continuing his work.
Niko enters, taking a look around and looking at the selection of weapons. "Wow, this... Looks like a shop from your average RPG." He walks up to Em if there's no sort of counter, if there is then he'd walk up to the counter. "Hey, what do you got in stock? I might need weapons to defend myself."
Em turns to face the unfamiliar voice, giving him a small wave after seeing he had a customer. "Ah, a better question would be what don't I have in stock... Really, name what you want, and I've probably got you covered..." He looks the boy once over, before leaning over on the counter. "So, what's your deal, exactly? Not that I'm one to judge but, er... you seem a bit young to be a fighter."
Niko scratches the back of his head. He hadn't given what he wanted much thought. "Uh well, heh, I'd have to think about what I want... Also the answer is that I'm in a tournament plus the fact this place is dangerous and..." He unholsters his evoker. "Just having a persona won't cut it, you know?" He then ponders over a weapon. "I guess show me some... I dunno, swords? Maybe scythes or something?"
The door to the place bursts open and a girl with short hair and a red cloak peeks in. "Scythes? Did someone say scythe?"
Em's eyebrows raise as he hears Niko's request. He then smiles and laughs to himself, before running off into the back room. He comes back a few moments later, carrying two boxes, both fairly long, but one was a tad wider. "Well, I've got some... special things that might interest you." He opens the thinner box, revealing a light-blue hilted shortsword. He pulls it out of the box, and runs his hand down the blade. "This is an old original of mine. It never really got a name though. It's a shortsword with Dust compatiblity, er, which essentially means it can change the element it uses as the change of a cartridge." Em clicks a button on the hilt of the weapon, causing an empty cartridge to pop out of the bottom of the sword, landing on the floor. He grabs another from a box sitting on a nearby shelf, this one colored red. He pops it into the sword and squeezes down on the handle, causing the blade of the sword to flash to red. He grabs a small strip of paper from under the counter and places it against the place, where it bursts into flames. "As I demonstrated, this sword can take on multiple elemental properties. It, er, also doubles as a gun, which can similarly use the elemental properties." Emerson then flicks a level on the rear of the handle guard. The weapon begins to click, before the blade pops upwards from the handle before sliding along to where what was once the tip was now sitting on the handle on an almost 90 degree angle. After it finishes, he looks over at the door, seeing a new face walk in. Or, at least a somewhat familiar one, with all the multiverse activity. "Er, welcome to Armory, miss. And yes, I did say scythe. I happen to have a few in stock, even." He turns away, muttering to himself. "Although nothing as impressive as yours..."
Niko nods. "Interesting, but what's in the wider box? Not saying the shortsword is bad but I'd like to see what else you have in store."
"Well, I'm not sure if it'll interest you. It's a bit... complicated. But, sure." Em sets the sword back in it's box, and opens the lid to the second, revealing a light blue box with most likely familiar grooves on it for Ruby. He picks up the box the throws it over his shoulder, before pressing a button. one half of the box folds open, and the middle between the two extends outwards, leaving Em with a pole in his hands, with either end having identical boxes on them. He taps another button, and the upper portion extends out into a curved scythe blade, with the distance from the center of the shaft remaining constant throughout the curve. "Well, you asked for a scythe, so I thought I'd throw this out there. It's got more features, but... honestly it might be a bit much."
Niko nods yet again. "Tell me about the features, I've got all day so, you know. I'd like to hear what this one does before I make my choice."
He shrugs, before spinning the scythe around with the opened blade towards the ground. He presses another button, causing the block on the top of the scythe to extend out into another scythe blade, mirroring the other. "And this is where the thing gets it's name, 'Full Moon'. It's a bit unwieldy, and takes a fair amount of training to get used to." He spins the dual-scythe around with his hands, before shifting his hands up to choke the heads of each end, holding down a button on each. This causes the center of the shaft to split, turning the scythe into two smaller one-hand blades. "It has this alt mode too. Also, each mode has different firing types. The single-blade is similar to a sniper rifle, as it is with both blades out, although it can be fired from both ends. With them separated, it's more rapid-fire. They're also compatible with Dust, the same thing that changes the element of the sword, although for these, it's used more conventionally as elemental ammunition." He snaps the two halves back together, before slamming one butt end onto the ground, causing the blade on that side to collapse back into its box form. He presses a button to do the rest, and it finally returns to it's base box state. "Well, interested in either?"
Niko thinks over it for a second. "The scythe is obviously way cooler, but the sword is easier to use but less flashy..." He decides the easier to use one would probably be a better choice, less training that way, you know? "I'll take the sword, please."
Em smiles, before pushing the box across the counter towards Niko. "An excellent choice. This blade served be well for a long time... Unfortunately, my style outgrew the poor thing. Hopefully it'll find a better home in you. ... And, um..." He stops and thinks for a moment before putting his hands over his face and slamming them down on the table together. "Ugh, why do I do this to myself..." He picks himself back up and tries to force a smile. "You don't have any money, do you? You're like, a middle schooler at best. No way you'd have the money for a damn sword..."
Being presented with it for free?... Niko actually sorta feels pity and takes out his wallet. "Hey, it may not be much but I'll try to give you what I can dig out of my wallet." He pours some change out of the wallet onto the counter. 5 quarters, 3 dimes and a nickel.
He sighs before sliding his forehead into his palm. He lets out a little laughs, before pushing she change back to the kid. "Just take it. The sword too. Honestly, out here, you'll need it. So just keep it safe, keep it sharp, and don't get hurt, all right?" He picks his face up and smiles, bringing his hand over to the kid's face and bopping him on the nose, before heading back into the rear of the building, once again working on his weapons. And with that, I must sleep. Good night.
Niko smiles as he takes the change and the sword. "Thank you so m-..." He recoils back a bit after... Whatever happened. He's unsure of how to feel. "I'll just... Uh, go." He leaves, hey, at least he has a real weapon now.
As Niko leaves the store, a familiar girl glares at him before entering. Rosie then approaches the shopkeeper with a mysterious briefcase and removes a pair of Dapple Dualies from their sidearm holsters, placing them on the counter. "I have no time for small talk," says Rosie. "First, I want you to do a custom job on these Dualies. Since the ink compressor has no use to me, I want them to shoot something other than ink." She unsheathes her next weapon, a simple rapier, from a carbon fiber scabbard around her waist. "Next, I'm looking for something between this and a broadsword," she continues. "I'd also like for you to appraise my current rapier." Finally, she removes a steel naginata from the sheath on her back. "Finally, I'd like a removable blade on this naginata. I've always wanted it to multiply its usefulness, and with a removable blade, the handle itself can double as an ordinary staff; the blade can also be used as a knife or dagger." With the details of the job explained, she opens the briefcase. Inside, there is a large sum of cash. "I hope $30 million will suffice," says Rosie with a deadpan expression, closing the lid.
