The Devil of the Manor
Note that I will not necessarily get very far in right now, most of this will probably occur tomorrow, and as such if you will be busy most of the day you may wish not to join in. With that said, let us begin Well outside of the main city of Tokyo lies a variety of smaller towns, as with any country. This small town has been the center of a number of missing person's cases, roughly fifteen women having vanished from their lives seemingly without a trace. The town is a rather small, farming community with few stores nearby and only one bar, likely where most of the people meet with so little else to do. A few police cars are parked outside the bar, probably sent to investigate this occurrence if nothing else.
Although not of age to drink yet, Weiss decides to drop by the bar anyways, drawn there by the missing person cases. She walks inside, a bit nervously, but keeps her head up despite it, trying to exude an air of confidence. She decides to talk to whoever in close vicinity of the door looks the most... trustworthy, getting their attention with a quick clear of her throat. "Er, excuse me, could I ask you some questions about the missing person cases? I'm interested in the details."
The inside of the bar is almost as worn out as the outside, clearly well behind on the times, most of the patrons, four police officers, are sitting by the counter while a gruff-looking man leans on the other side. They seemed to be finishing a conversation when Weiss stops in Gruff man: So that's it, you're just going to leave? Officer 1: We work on evidence, not hunches. Besides, maybe they'll simply turn up Gruff man: My daughter's been missing three week!! Officer 2: Maybe she just ran off on ya. Tired of living in such a rundown place she just up and left. Gruff man: My darling Velouria would never just leave us behind, not a single word!! Officer 3:That's what you think mate. All this yelling certainly isn't going to get anything done. Gruff man: Then what els.... Officer 4: That's enough, we need to head back to file a report, don't go causing any more trouble about this whole incident, hate to see it get worse with that, the officers put on their caps, headed for the door. of course they would simply move past Weiss, the fourth one, apparently the one in charge shakes his head Officer 4: There are no details that we are at liberty to discuss at this time. Would have rather it be kept a secret, but you know how investigations go. Just believe me when I say we're doing all that we can. Oh, and you might want to head home before dark. No reason to risk anything.
Normally, Weiss would be one to obey the orders of an officer. But after hearing what she had, there was no way she'd sit still. "You seriously expect me to believe that? Ugh, officers like you are the worst. Leaving these poor people to fend for themselves, missing their dear friends and family!" She huffs and turns away, hands on her hips and nose in the air, before dismissing the officer and walking over to the counter, taking a seat across from the gruff man behind it. "Um, I'm terribly sorry you're having to go through this. If there are any leads towards the culprit, please, tell me. I'd be glad to do an investigation in place of those feckless officers..."
officer 4: Go ahead, insult us all you want. Far from the first today. After adjusting his hat, him and the other officers exit the building, leaving Weiss alone with the gruff looking man, who slams his hand against the table in frustration, yet another day nowhere closer. He raises an eyebrow at Weiss, before sighing and laying his head on the counter Gruff Man: You.. Seem a little young for a PI. You.... Probably shouldn't be involved. Two of the people who went missing were about your age, one even younger. Its too dangerous for a kid like you. The man sighs, looking off to the side for a moment as he comments Gruff Man: Wouldn't want you to go missing too after all.
OOC: Too late to join? It's been a while since I've done anything with my teammate here after all so if not, I'll hop in.
I plan for this to be open for most of the thread, so of course you can join
In that case, I guess I'll appear. A young woman with a black bow on her head walks through the streets, upon seeing the odd gathering of cops outside she'd walk in. And after spotting Weiss talking with a group of people she'd saunter over and examine everyone present. She'd overhear the last bit of the man's comment as she walks in, somehow. "Weiss, what's going on here exactly? Seems to me like something's happening right now... And I wouldn't worry about my friend there or myself. We may not be that old but we can handle ourselves, Blake Belladonna, by the way. Now then, what exactly are we getting into here oh teammate mine?" She shoots Weiss a wry look, clearly curious about what exactly might have drawn so many people in this tiny town... 4 cops might not be much most places, but it's too many for a tiny little place.
She laughs a little, putting the back of her hand over her mouth. "Please, don't worry about me. I'm much tougher than I look." She moves her left hand down to the handle of her blade. She then turns to see a familiar face, hopping up from her stool and running over to her. "Blake? What are you doing here? I thought you were back in the city?" She sort of just stands in silence for a moment, before turning back around and sitting down in her stool again. She looks back over at Blake, tapping her hand on the stool next to her. "Well, all I really know is there's been a lot of people going missing around here, specifically women. I got interested by the rumor, and came to check it out. Seems it was true after all." She turns back to the man behind the counter, sitting up prim and properly. "So, sir, would you be able to tell us more details? I'm sure the two of us together could uncover this mystery."
Apologies, I'm going to have to leave for the night. I should be around at ~8pm PST tomorrow.
If you'd wish to simply pause for now then I can show up at that time as well, or keep going for a bit.
A short girl, seemingly high school age, arrives to witness the current situation. Not wanting to be seen right away, she quickly flees behind one of the police cars... Did something happen here...? Setsuna thought maybe she should just pass by quietly, but.. Being quiet wasn't so easy anymore. At any moment, her friend could take over, and he was quite loud. For now, she simply listens.
Gruff man: "Tougher than you look." That's exactly what Velouria told me before she.... The man stops himself from going any further, reaching behind the counter for a quick drink, shaking his head, as though trying to clear away any cobwebs Gruff man: "I... I shouldn't have told her anything. You two have families, right? Imagine how they'd feel. Just... Up and never returned. I don't want to be responsible for that" The man takes another drink, before setting the stuff back behind the counter to a small collection of similar bottles, possibly his personal stash.
I suppose we would be best off getting past this phase, almost done here anyways, and finishing tomorrow night. Had hoped to start a while before 8 PST, but if it can't be helped
this is around the time Heiress here claimed they would be back, so here's a bit of a bump. That is all
Can confirm I exist, unless I'm just a figment of everyone's mind.
A out of place man walks into the bar ignoring all the commotion and sits at one of the vacant stools and orders Whisky on the rocks. After he finishes his drink, he leaves a bill under the empty glass and decides to leave. He goes in the opposite direction of the cops walks into an alleyway and vanishes leaving behind only his Trench Coat and Hat. Woooooooo spoooky
Star suddenly appears...by walking on to the scene like a normal person. She's got two new and shiny rifles on her back, held there by seemingly nothing. Hey barkeep, I'll have some beer.
well, seeing as I am obviously here, might I suggest the novel concept of you replying Blake? Or would you rather just wait for Heiress to eventually be open?
I was giving them a bit of time, but yeah I'll just get things moving at this point it's been 30 minutes past.
Family? Hah, she'd chuckle a bit upon hearing the man mention that. "Haven't seen them in a while actually, neither of us has seen our families for a while really... Let's just say going back isn't an option." Not in the least bit, but that's a story for another time. She'd shake her head and give the man an intense stare. "I'm not leaving it alone either way, kinda my job to make sure people are safe. Granted, this isn't what I'd normally deal with. But trust me "normal" is pretty dangerous." Gunfights, monsters, and way too many close calls with both of those to really call things safe. That's being a huntress for ya. "So, either I go out looking without a clue, or I get one. I'm fine whichever way things go but one is easier."
The gruff-looking barkeeper raises an eyebrow at the young, orange-haired girl walking in. Gruff Man: We don't serve alcohol to minors. I know some places do, in spite of the law and all, but I'm afraid this isn't one of them. We do have other drinks too though, water, lemonade, tea, even orange juice for those rare occasions someone brings a really young one in. Not like the door's locked after all. With a huff, the gruff man looks back to Blake, shaking his head for a moment before finally giving in Gruff Man: There's a wealthy man who lives a short while outside of this town, in a rather large manor. Name's Sateriasis. He's been a bit of a recluse ever since the accident a few years back, rarely leaves his home. My daughter was bringing them a delivery, you know how it goes with the rich folk. Never returned. Officers claimed they investigated and found nothing, but I'm not so sure.... The man sighs, rapping his fingers against the counter before he finishes Gruff Man: Right now it seems like the only lead we've got.
Lemonade, huh? Fine then, I'll have some of that. No ice, please. Star slaps a five hundred yen coin on the counter.
A rich man... And a vanishing, almost like dealing with Weiss's family except likely worse. Blake would sigh and run her right hand along a blade resting atop her back. "Right then, can I get some directions to this place? I'm... Willing to go ask some of my own questions. And yeah, I know all too well how it goes with rich people." She reaches down and pulls a device out of her pocket, Weiss seems to have vanished for now. But the girl would find a message from Blake sent to her scroll detailing whatever directions Blake's given. Assuming she's even around anymore, it might be relevant later. "Anyway, I guess I should head out and go over there... Doesn't really sound all that safe, but I can't exactly this sit around and keep going on without searching.
Gruff Man: Course you do. The man grumbles before getting out a pen and pad, writing down the manor's address before tearing the page off and handing it to Blake Gruff Man: You see anything dangerous, get out of there immediately you hear me? I don't wanna be responsible for the next one. The bartender sighs and heads to the back for a moment, bringing out a glass of lemonade and putting it in front of Star, leaning casually on the counter Gruff Man: Here you are miss. Care to tell me what brings you all the way out here? Don't look like you're from around these parts. Rare we get visitors really
"Alright... I'll be careful, you might not know it but well I'm always careful!" The girl walks off, wandering away from the bar and looking at the address. "Well then... Sateriasis huh? Guess I'll have to try figure this one out quickly." She'd continue off in the direction of the place written down, rushing through the small town as a blur of motion. Far more quickly than humans really have a right to move, but by her standards, more of a light jog than anything else.
Well, I felt like something crazy would be happening around here, so I came here. That's pretty much it. I get involved in a lot of things, most of the time where I have to defend myself. I just got these guns, and already I had to use them. I can also tell when someone is about to get into something crazy. That girl you just talked to, she's probably gonna have a crazy time. And that's all the reason I need to follow her. Take care. Star downs her lemonade as fast as she can before she follows Blake from a distance, floating above the ground by a few feet with her boots.
The bartender raises his hand to protest, but by the time he gets to say anything Star and Blake are already gone. The man sighs and begins cleaning Star's glass. Nothing for him but to wait and hope for the best Blake and Star dash through the small town, a few people leaning out their windows as the pair go by, not exactly the stealthiest of approaches, but what could that matter? Anyways, they head through the town with little incident, and within a few minutes can see the massive, ancient building on the outer edge. It seems a little out of place, with a distinctly European feel to its towers and plain exterior. A garden extends out towards the back, though it seems as though it hasn't been tended to for some time. The building is easily three floors tall, with dozens of rooms and windows stretching out along the sides. A few security cameras can be seen pointed around the place, most focused on the massive wooden front door, with others seemingly scattered simply to discourage thieves, rather than actually keep an eye on things
Cameras, Blake knows a thing or two about evading those... But the question is does Star, and will the people who saw them cause any issues? No telling for now, so Blake would simply do her best to observe the building closely and search for a way in that can be used quietly. "Oi, Orange-haired lady? What's your name, that floating stuff tells me you're not exactly normal so I won't worry too much. But how's your stealth? I'd prefer to go about this fairly quietly if we can, and I have no doubt he's not gonna be forthcoming with much of anything if we just ask nicely. Oh yeah, Blake Belladonna, by the way, yourself?" She'd smile a bit and wave at the girl, stopping her search for a moment to properly introduce herself to her new ally.
I know a thing or two about stealth, and the name's Star Sakura. Give me a moment. Star throws on a expertly made ninja disguise. So, how do we do this? The doors are obviously out of the picture. Think there might be a cellar we can take?
There seems to be a few unobserved rainspouts one could use to climb to the roof, if they were so inclined, though there's no apparent promise of entry on the manor's flat roof. Of course, the walls are lined with windows, but at this time of day there's no telling whether or not they'd be locked, save for a single, open one on the second floor. A faint humming can be heard from this window, suggesting someone's continued presence in the area. Then of course there's the massive front door, complete with knockers
Rooftop... Might be something up there, and if not it's a decent-ish place to go looking for one. Worst case she has to fight, but that's fine in the end too. "I'm thinking a check up top for a start, or we could go for the open window somebody is in... But that's just pushing our luck a bit more than I'm fine with doing." Despite that she could show off, Blake would simply aim to quietly climb up one of the rainspouts. After checking it once again for any signs of observation, not to mention aiming to see if anything seems to watch the roof. Assuming however that she found nothing, she'd begin going up. Followed by looking around from said roof to see if there are any less obvious entry points on it.
Okay. I'll just...Wait here for a signal. You know, for if it's safe. Star climbs up a nearby tree to get a better view.
Atop the roof Blake finds a few skylights opening up into a massive ballroom all the way on the bottom floor, the ballroom almost looks to be made of silver, though its likely some shiny substitute, with a crystal chandelier overlooking the place. In addition, two tiers of balconies overhang the edges of the gala, for the second and third floors, though no cameras or sensors are visible, it would be hard to imagine a place so suited for large gatherings not to have some form of security
Too obvious, maybe some kinda lasers or something? She'd call out to Star as she examines the entry into the ballroom more closely. "Oi, you got any way of checking for stuff human eyes can't see? I've found a way into a ballroom, but there isn't any visible security. And trust me, as someone who's broken into plenty of guarded buildings that just means there's invisible stuff of some kind."
Oh, uhh, yeah, give me a second. Star walks back a bit before running and turning on her boots right as she jumps, causing her to jump up to the top of the manor. ...I didn't think that would work. At least I didn't break the floor. Thank you hover boots. Now then, let's see here... I've got something for infrared lasers. Star flicks a tiny switch on her glasses and they are suddenly able to see infrared lasers.
after spending the past 40 minutes doing their best to be entirely undetected, Blake decides to yell from the rooftop in the area she previously saw an open window into an occupied room. This prompts its sole inhabitant, a young girl dressed in a fine silver gown to look out the window in time to see Star leap a tall building in a single bound, mouth wide open as the girl passes to the side of her window. As for the skylights, Star is unable to find any lasers, infrared or otherwise, or any kind of observation on the windows at all. Though of course that is not to promise there aren't any cameras inside, it seems he wasn't exactly worried about his guests flying away
...so...I don't see jack shit for lasers. Cameras could be in there, but we could just stick to the walls. I say we try to go in from here and try to find a security room. This place must have one, it's so big. Other than that, stick to the shadows like normal and dodge any guards inside. Sound good?
Hello, I exist now! Sorry for being a bit late, I had a friend's concert to attend, and it laster longer than expected. Plus I'm just tired generally now. Weiss, finally catching up to the others, puts her right arm out towards the side of the building, creating a line of white glyphs up it, although attempting to keep their soft glow and herself out of the line of sight from the cameras. She braces herself before running towards the wall, the glyphs allowing her to begin running up the wall, eventually pulling herself atop the roof. As she hears Blake yell across the area, she bolts over and turns her around by the shoulder. "What on earth are you doing? Are you trying to get caught?! I can't believe you, I'm gone for a few minutes, and you already screw up!" She tries to keep her voice down, but she's clearly frustrated. She takes a deep breath, trying to restrain herself from drawing any extra attention. "Well... whatever. I suppose we can follow her plan, if there's really no major security." She looks over to Star, nodding her head, before heading to the edge of the roof, dropping down to a knee. She looks back, giving Star and Blake a smile. "After you."
Star drops down and uses her hover boots to not make a sound when landing.
Why exactly did she do something like that? Hmm, might be best to just leave and never come back but oh well. "I guess so... I'm making stupid mistakes tonight apparently though as if I'm being written poorly because of some idiot. And oh, Weiss... Yeah uh, we should be fine, I think. Maybe." That's just silly, however, and despite what she may have said the fault is clear her own to Blake. And it can't exactly be called off at this point... As for Weiss, well like she said this plan can work in theory. "Anyway, I'll go first I guess... Hopefully, we can figure out what the hell happened to that kid who came up here." She looks around for somewhere that appears fairly out of the way inside of the large room. Naturally, it's unlikely to remain entirely hidden at this point, unless people are dumb enough to think themselves crazy because of Star's display of abnormal power. Regardless, Blake enters and does her best to stay out of plain sight or view of a camera for now. Either way, she'd land quietly... Despite it likely being pointless at this time.
Kneeling on the edge of the roof, Weiss doesn't see anything abnormal, at the very least it seems no one's been called yet, nor is anyone looking out the window in hopes of finding anything. As for Blake, she would find the most out of the way point of entry to be the skylight directly overlooking the top balcony, there don't seem to be any cameras in the immediate vicinity, and so she drops down, finding a few doors scattered about the balcony, two in each cardinal direction, with one of the eastern ones being left slightly ajar opening up into the hallway. Finally, Star immediately descends to the first floor of the ballroom, avoiding the chandelier on her way down. She doesn't see any cameras looking out into the middle of the room, though a few focus on the entrances scattered to the north, south, east, and west of the room
Okay...if I were a security room, I would probably be either east or west...so let's go west and see what's there. Star goes to the western door and opens it up enough to peak inside.
Weiss picks herself up and heads over to the skylight Blake dropped down, following her onto the balcony. After looking over the area, she makes her way over to the slightly open door, keeping it as is for now, but simply looking through the crack for anything suspicious. If nothing of note could be seen, she would push the door open further to get a better look of the hallway.
Well then, Blake would sigh to herself and move towards the ajar door. Carefully looking through the crack of it and aiming to see if anyone is present on the other side. Assuming not, well like Weiss she'd aim to see a bit more. Keeping quiet for now.
Star looks into one of the west doors, finding a large kitchen stretching down nearly the entire ballroom in length, with various stoves and ovens to keep going, though it seems as though there aren't any cooks there at the moment, and the area seems dusty, almost as though it hasn't actually been used in years. Of course, all sorts of cooking utensils, knives, spoons, whiskers, rollers, anything you could imagine remain in there, rust-free in spite of their apparent age. Blake and Weiss check the open door, getting a view of a long hallway lined with red carpet, decorated by the occasional portrait, likely of some of the more distinguished family members. The hallway extends in both directions, wrapping around the ballroom, on this side there are roughly three doors, which we will label 1, 2, and 3 from left to right. All three of them would hear a frustrated shout from the second floor's balcony, a man's voice, possibly the owner by his commanding tone Frustrated voice: "I know you're there somewhere, come out now and I promise this won't escalate any further. I'd rather not call the police on some adventurous brat, but I will if I must."
Do not take anything I RP seriously, I just like being a background character that provides comic relief and casual shrugs in lax situations. Though, if that ruins everyone's experience please do tell me and I will cease such conduct immediately and never do it again E-=
hmm... should I...? Nah, this place seems to be kinda creepy, what with all the dust around. Still, creepy kitchen means I can get stabbed...but oh well. Star sneakily walks into the kitchen, looking for another way out.
She'd speak to Weiss in a low tone, getting near the other girl's ear and whispering into it. "Think we should do it? I could always go by myself... Distract him, but I'm not so sure that's a good idea. Or that anything here is a good idea." For the moment she remains still while evading cops isn't exactly anything new to Blake. It's something to be dodged where possible. Be a real pain if they had issues back in Tokyo after all... I see, well I wouldn't say anything was ruined or anything. You seem alright enough in fact I guess.
Weiss jolts at the man's voice, quickly and quietly heading through the door into the hallway. She calms herself before turning back around to speak with to Blake, whispering as well. "We could try the doors. Maybe one of them... I dunno, has a laundry chute we could escape through? It's better than trying to engage, at any rate..." She move back down the hall, but stops to look at the portraits for a moment. "Remind me of back home..." She sighs before heading onward, deciding to try door number 2. She slowly tries to turn the doorknob, aiming to be as quiet as possible.
Right then, engaging is... Not exactly a great plan for now. Even if part of her would prefer a straight fight in some ways. Regardless, girl follows behind Weiss and nods. Naturally, she'd aim to keep quiet as well for now. Though part of her can't help consider sending a clone out there just to see what happens, for now she remains still as Weiss opens the door.
The kitchen doesn't seem to lead much of anywhere aside from itself, it is streamlined to allow people to go through one door and out the other quite easily, such as if needed to bring appetizers around a party. Looking carefully there's one door that leads to a rather small bedroom, likely an old servant's quarters that has long gone unused, but there is a window to let natural light in. Because apparently we're breaking into a place purely to try leaving it. Weiss opens the door to reveal a rather large bedroom, stocked with two beds, each bed complete with a set of currently open curtains, a wardrobe, a fairly large walk-in closet, two windows to allow natural light, and absolutely no signs of anyone having lived there in some time. It seems as though whatever cleaning may occur has left this room untouched for some time, resulting it in gaining a rather dusty air Elsewhere in the mansion, like a responsible citizen whose home has probably been broken into, the frustrated voice calls the police Frustrated voice: "Yes, hello, sorry to be such a bother, I'm here to report a breaking and entering and likely attempted burglary in progress... I know its quite a ways out, that's why I had to call you before making sure. Someone was spotted climbing onto my roof, add in the now-open skylight in my ballroom, and I somewhat doubt they're simply here for fun. Of course, sorry for the trouble."
that's bad. Maybe I could... possibly... Star checks to see if she could possibly squeeze into any of the cabinets in the kitchen, or make room to get into one.
Weiss sighs, seeing as there's little of importance in the room. She turns back around and exits the room, motioning for Blake to do the same. Should she follow, she's come up close and whisper. "Let's try and make good use of time. I'll go to the door on the left, you go to the one on the right. Message me if you find anything, I'll do the same." Weiss digs her Scroll from her pocket, (Note for non-RWBY fans, it's basically a phone) before heading to door number 1, opening it much the same as she had done the one before.
Of course, gah... Might be easier to just k- no. What is she, Adam? Even so... There's gotta be something important here right? For now, Blake continues moving forward. Mostly aiming to look around the room for any signs of... What even are they looking for at this point? Signs of the girl of course, but the sign of such a thing is quite frankly unlikely to be found easily. Beyond that, she'd also search for any less than obvious hiding spots. Which seems unlikely at the moment. Of course, with her search done enough she'd do just that. Moving on from the room and heading to the door on the right.
Star hides in the kitchen. For some reason. Because that's easier than just leaving in the time it would take for the police to drive from the nearest actual city apparently. Or just talking to the guy, that was also an option. Weiss finds what seems to be a servant's room, plainly decorated as it is, not much larger than a broom closet, and notable only for the dumbwaiter (think really small elevator) over to her left. Like the previous room, it looks like it hasn't been used in quite some time. Blake finds a stairwell, leading down to whichever floor they may desire, first through third of course. Like most of the manor it is fancily decorated, as one of the many places guests might arrive, and lined with gilded candelabra, none of which are lit at the moment, instead overhead electric lights serve the part of actually illuminating the area
Hey, who said I was hiding here!? I'm looking for a spot to hide in case the cops show up! But, I might as well go check out the east side now. And like that, Star walks out of the kitchen and to the eastern side of the manor, keeping to the shadows as she opens the eastern door enough to see what's on the other side.
Once again unable to find anything, Weiss simply groans before heading over to Blake's door. Seeing the stairwell, she looks down it before heading to the second floor. "Perhaps she's being kept on the middle floor. I would say it's the hardest to reach..."
Hmm... Maybe now would be a good time to leave? Well, who knows at this point. For now, Blake simply keeps going and looks around for places to hide. Hoping to find some trace of the girl who's gone missing, though at this point she's starting to think that maybe talking it out would have served them better... There's nothing to be done for it at the moment, and dodging cops isn't that hard if worst comes to worst. Of course, Weiss has a point there. Middle floor it is.
checking out the eastern side, Star opens the door to find a largely empty hallway, decorated much as those described above, with red carpetting and several portraits. One of the three doors is left slightly ajar, and sounds of a conversation can be heard from within, a pair of feminine voices voice 1: Rather strange, first there were those officers, now what is it? voice 2: Some child screwing around on the roof. Voice 1: How would she even get up there? Nevermind that, its just one weird thing after another. looking through the identical room on the second floor, Weiss and Blake find the second floor hallway to be already occupied, a younger, brown-haired woman, probably not much older than the two wearing an intricate, silvery dress stands in the arms of a somewhat older man, perhaps mid twenties. The man's long, purple hair manages to go lower than its female counterpart, leading down his own, old-fashioned purple suit, bringing attention to the sheathed katana at his side Man: No need to worry darling, the police will be here soon enough to sort things out. Its just a child so they probably aren't wanting to hurt anyone, just sneak in, grab whatever gold they can and get out. Worst case we'll just have to redecorate a bit, hardly the end of the world.
... I'm seriously starting to think all this was just a misunderstanding...but I can't give up now! If I do, I'll never be hoka- hahahahah! I can't even think that with a straight face! Star sneaks up to the ajar door and pulls out a tiny mirror and holds it near the crack of the door to look inside.
There's not much hope of going around, so Weiss chooses to do the only thing she can; blend in. She's a good fit too. Although not the fanciest thing she owns, her outfit fits her well enough within the crowd of the wealthy, which she herself is a part of anyways. She motions for Blake to stay back, then uses some make-shift hand signals to try and tell her to sneak around to the left of the people, before boldly stepping out of the room and into the hallway. She keeps her posture straight, her face bright, and approaches the two strangers. She specifically puts herself to the right of them in comparison to the door, allowing Blake to potentially sneak to the left unnoticed. "Good evening. May I ask the two of you of your names? I'm quite unfamiliar with most here, after all."
Weapons... Well then... Weiss's idea is risky at best, but even so, Blake will do her level best to run with it. She'd slip past in a blur if possible, moving entirely too quickly... That is, of course, assuming she spots an opening of any kind, however, if not she'd simply remain in the shadows and keep searching for a decent chance to make her move.
Star finds two older women, older than her anyways, between their mid-twenties to thirties in what seems to be a smaller meeting room, likely for clubs, the pair are working on individual sewing projects while discussing the occurences of the day, though what they discuss from there is rather dull and not quite worth mentioning. Or even making up at this point at night. at Weiss's sudden appearance, the older man raises an eyebrow, gazing into his companion's eyes for a moment Man: Is that the child you saw? Woman: Not that I can recall, the other one had orange hair, quite hard to forget. Man: Strange, I wasn't expecting visitors. That said, the man woul let go of his companion's arms, stepping towards Weiss and bowing low to the ground. Now that you get a better look at him, he seems rather charming, with near-perfect facial features and voice like that of an angel Sateriasas: But where are my manners, my name is Sateriasas Venomania, the owner of this here manner. And I must say, you seem rather young to be wandering about like this. Really you should be more careful. Highly fortunate my door was unlocked, much safer than outside. Finally, with Sateriasas preoccupied, Blake is able to dash across the hall, finding one of similar size with three doors, as before, covering the northern part of the manor, though there doesn't seem to be much in motion at the moment, a faint noise can be heard from the middle door, probably somewhere between whistling and singing
Star looks at the other two doors nearby and sneaks over to door number 2 before doing what she did before and opening it up enough to see what's inside. Okay, they have cameras, so there must be a security room somewhere! Right!? It's either that, or it's hooked up to a security company... actually, it's probably the first one. Shit. Oh well, might as well keep going until I find something interesting...and then take a picture of it. Actually, what should I do if I get caught? Probably ninja vanish. Seriously, what would an ordinary person think if they saw a fucking ninja in their house? They'd panic. It's a fucking ninja, of course they'd panic. That, or say nothing or else the ninja kills them. Which, I could do...but that's with my guns. I'm not Deadpool here. Okay, head? Shut up. Stop ranting.
Blake would attempt to peer through the door, quietly moving forward and hoping to get a look at whoever might be inside of that room... Something is giving her a guess it might be who she's looking for, but that's just a guess as of now.
I think we can officially shift this over to post whenever, if either of you have access to Heiress i would appreciate you reminding them this exists, I will phantom bump this occasionally and update whenever everyone has responded. Somewhat expected, but since it is unusual for this group, I figured it was worth noting
Alright then, I can work with that. And yeah either of us can contact em when needed.
though I myself must be off soon, this is a reminder, primarily for Heiress, that we have shifted over to post whenever, I'll likely have to update in the morning, but as this is when they have mentioned being on most consistently, this is when I intend to bump for them
Don't worry, I saw. I'm only gonna be around for a little while longer tonight, so post whenever works well for me. Weiss steps back with her right foot, grabs her skirt, and formally curtsies to the man. "It's a pleasure to meet you, Mr. Venomania. My name is Weiss Schnee. I'm the current inheritor to a large company known as the Schnee Dust Company." She smiles, laughing a little. "It's funny, really. You needn't be so worried about me. After all, I'm the same as you." She shifts her right hand down to the weapon on her hip, reflecting the man's own sheathed blade.
Behind door number 2 lies a seemingly ordinary storage room, several boxes of fairly ordinary objects, from toys to clothing stacked around the place. In an open space next to one of these boxes, there seems to almost be a small seam in the floor, as though the boards don’t quite fit together properly Blake finds another bedroom, decorated similarly to the first, with only a single bed, a wardrobe, and a desk going alongside the usual red carpet and portraits. Sitting at the desk by the window is a blonde woman, maybe in her mid thirties, looking out the window as she hums some sort of tune to herself. Sateriasas laughs along with Weiss, of course noting the weapon at her side, though he doesn’t seem even slightly unsettled by the idea Sateriasas: I promise you, search as much as you wish, and you’ll never find another like me. Sateriasas steps closer to Weiss, maintaining a gentle, yet stern eye contact as he offers his hand Sateriasas: to what do I owe the pleasure of this unexpected visit. No need to worry, I don’t bite Before she knows it, Weiss’s hand Almost seems to be drawn towards his, it would be so much easier to simply tell the truth, after all, the man clearly didn’t mean harm from the start
you know, if half these posts are going to be me bumping it, kinda makes me wonder if there's actually any interest, I won't be offended if you just don't care or whatever, far more annoying to have to do this over and over again
Ah, my apologies, I intended to post a little while ago but life got the better of me, and I'm currently busy in the King of the Nexus thread which is a bit of a scheduling enigma so I need to take the chance to proceed when when available. Once the weekend comes I'll be sure to post as much as I'm able. In any case, I'm actually enjoying this thread a lot and I'm honestly eager to get back to it.
I agree in that I do enjoy this quite a lot. It's fun! End of story. JACKPOT! Come to mama, motherfucker! Star tip toes over to the seam and tries to carefully remove a board...with a crowbar she conveniently has for just such an occasion. Sure, she could have just used her strength, but crowbars are fun.
Weiss takes his hand, giggling a little. She draws herself a little closer, hoping to keep him distracted for longer in case Blake happened to come back out into the hallway. "Well, Mr. Venomania, I was... in the neighborhood. And I'd heard of you, so I wished to pay a visit, knowing you'd be kind enough to offer a stay here for the night. But... your mansion is so large, with so many rooms, I was worried I'd never find you..." She thought for a moment, before deciding to finally slip a little truth into her words. "I've... also heard rumors of missing women around these parts. I was wondering if you'd, perhaps, heard anything yourself..?"
Despite my lack of recent posting, I am quite enjoying it. Simply put, I've been writing too late and too tired with it as of late but I'm hoping to avoid that. She stares at the woman in front of the window... That's the one who saw them before, isn't it? Or maybe she's older than that one, Blake didn't get the greatest of looks... Either way, nothing ventured nothing gained right? She'd close the door behind herself, and walk up to the woman. "Um... Hello, I guess." Great start Blake, genius. Now how to go about this best? Hmm... Being direct might work? "I'll start with this alright, I'm uh looking for someone. Rumour has it women have been going missing around here, and I'm attempting to see if there's any truth to it... You wouldn't be to tell me anything, would you?"
I was actually intending to bump this, only to be beaten by Heiress's actual post, so color me impressed I guess. Anyways, here's the update before I go to bed Star has quite a bit of difficulty wedging her crowbar into the small seam, damaging the floorboards some as she finally gets it in there, only for it to swing open effortlessly upwards like a trapdoor. Fortunately it wasn't so loud as to inform the entire manor, though anyone in the hallway outside could have easily heard. Sateriasas laughs faintly, a warm smile playing across his face, after taking his hand you notice he seems to smell like lavender, probably can be assumed to be a perfume of sorts. His smile drops immediately upon mention of the rumor, replaced with a faint scowl, he takes a deep breath, letting out a sigh Sateriasas:"Oh don't worry, I've heard more than enough of THAT rumor, just the other day I had those media hounds pressing for an interview. Its a relief that they're finally gone. But there's no need to worry, you'll be safe with me." Weiss finds it starting to become difficult to think as Sateriasas attempts to pull Weiss into an embrace, its far easier to focus on his warm hands, or the faint light in his eyes. The blonde woman immediately checks out the window, ceasing her humming upon hearing the unfamiliar voice. Finding nothing there, she turns around to Blake, shifting her chair to allow more comfortable viewing. The woman sizes up Blake at a glance, and huffs Blonde Woman: "hmmm, poor Velouria, hardly kept his favor two weeks and he's already brought in another one. Look a bit young though, I never would have thought...." The woman taps her fingers against her chin, muttering something underneath her breath as she glances back out the window. A few seconds later she would stiffen up in her chair Blonde: "But where are my manners, my name is Mirigan, Mirigan Adi. I've never heard of any such rumors I'm afraid."
I hope nobody was going for a midnight glass of water...oh well! Now then, let's see what's inside! God I love my glasses. Star activates her night vision on her glasses and looks down the hole...after hiding behind something for a short bit to make sure nobody would walk in after hearing that noise.
... Unfortunately, Weiss is smart enough to realize her situation. Sure, he's pretty handsome, he dresses well, he's wealthy... but he's also the prime suspect of a kidnapping of young women. Young women like her. After shaking off the distraction of him, she tries to pull herself away a bit, still giving a smile. "I do indeed feel safe, Mr. Venomania. It's just... well I'm, um... a bit hungry. Oh, I've been without a good, proper meal for a fair few days now, traveling is such a difficult thing..." Weiss does her best to act out her supposed hunger, trying as hard as she can to be convincing. Clearing the hallway for Blake would certainly be a good idea.
Brought in another one? Sounds sketchy from where she's standing... And besides. "Who's Velouria? I'm gonna guess she was here for a while, but hey maybe I'm wrong..." She smirks a bit, tone going ice cold as she looks at the woman just a bit more closely. "Despite you talking about her only lasting two weeks, and who's this other one he brought in anyway?" Blake pauses, well she could have some manners herself. But giving out her real name seems just a bit foolish. On the other hand, if she lies and Weiss uses the real one... "As for my name, Blake Belladonna. And it's too bad you haven't heard anything, I was really hoping I'd be able to help." Of course, she has to question if Mirigan is simply unable... Or unwilling, and, given those mutterings Blake would put cash on the second.
A few minutes pass with absolutely no one visiting the room Star's in, and she enters the hole, finding a ladder embedded in the wall just within to bring her all the way down a floor with no uncomfortable drop, finding a similar, if somewhat empty room below, Star can hear the faint sound of chatter through the closed basement door, but it seems to be quite distant. Sateriasas raises an eyebrow, but lets Weiss pull away, the man lets out a sigh, keeping one arm around Weiss as she feels the pressure on her mind lift somewhat, making it much easier to think as normal. Sateriasas: I'm afraid the main kitchens have gone unused for quite some time, but we probably have something acceptable around, if you don't mind me leading? Sateriasas would keep a firm hold on Weiss's hand as he leads her to the staircase, and on down to the first floor The blonde woman crosses her hands on her lap, gazing away from Blake and back out the window as she goes on Mirigan: I first saw Velouria a little over two weeks ago, she WAS Sateriasas's newest little crush. I guess he hasn't intro..... the woman pauses, thinking for a moment, before she begins grinning Mirigan: I was talking about you darling, but if you really don't know what I'm going on about, that makes you the thief young Velouria was shouting about, doesn't it? Mirigan sighs and continues staring out the window, before putting one finger to her lip Mirigan: Whatever you were here for, its best you stick with that story, get going. Can hardly keep the peace with fifteen of us, can't imagine adding another. Just take a candle or something on your way out, we've got plenty. Not from this room though, otherwise he might start asking me questions and I'd rather not deal with that.
could I join
yes, 82 posts and 5 days in is a little late to be adding people, thank you for asking
I don't think you bothered reading my post, so allow me to restate it. 5 days and 82 posts is a little late to be adding new people. That includes you
Is it okay if I make a cameo post or something
yes, 82 posts and 5 days in is a little late to be adding people, thank you for askingyou said yes...
OOC: Pretty sure what they were doing was something called sarcasm.
(That was sarcasm, Alex. Point is, thread's over, leave and have a nice night k thnx edit: alright, not over, but too late for new peeps)
(edited by Cait_Sith)
I think it was less sarcasm and just a way of speaking misconveyed through text. Either way, the message is clear enough. Weiss smiles, not for his sake, but for the fact she's finally able to give Blake some breathing room. She allows him to take her hand, following him. "I wouldn't mind in the least." After taking a quick look back at the door Blake entered, she quickly brings herself back towards the manor's owner, still attempting to keep her ruse as convincing as possible.
If you could be bothered to read more than 3 letters in, then you would notice I said "5 days and 82 posts is a bit too far in to add new people". Astonishing what those who can read will find However, I will let you join in on Slenderman's cameo if he does his thing on you
sorry, my bad
A hidden basement? Looks like I'm on the right track. I'm looking for teasure, right? Nah, it was something about kids? Yeah, that sounds more right...but if I do just so happen to come across a little gold, welp, finders keepers! Star sneaks up and tries to listen through the door, making sure she doesn't get caught if it suddenly opens.
The girl would frown, thief? No, not quite the story behind her. "It's no lie, I'm here to find answers not cash. Trust me Miss, if I wanted to steal something I wouldn't have stopped to have a chat with you." Fifteen huh? Sounds strange... And his latest crush, all adds up to something screwy going on here. Blake would turn around and walk toward the door, pausing for a moment to speak a tad more. "I know you know more than you're letting on, and if you won't tell me that's fine. But if this is anything like what I think... I've gotta get to the bottom of things here, somehow." After giving the woman time to reply, she'd walk out the door as quietly as possible, after peering through the keyhole to make sure it's still clear. Assuming so, she'd then search around for a way to move forward without being seen.
Sateriasas doesn't seem to notice Weiss's sideways glance, focused as he is, he leads Weiss down the staircase to the first floor, chattering the whole way Sateriasas:"apologies if it seems like a bit of a mess, enexpected visitors after all. And so quiet too...." Sateriasas gives Weiss a sideways glance, but doesn't push the subject any further before coming out on the first floor, stepping outside of the stairway and into the nearest hall, they turn to find... The middle door left open. The man doesn't seem too bothered by this, and brushes aside a few stray hairs with a sigh Sateriasas:"Seems someone forgot to shut the door, how embarassing. Well, its no bother, we're headed there anyways." Downstairs, Star listens to the doorway, though the talk doesn't seem to get much louder for it. Its a bit too far away for her to hear, which at least guarantees there's no one on the other side Mirigan lets out another sigh, tapping her fingers along the desk as she continues Mirigan: My god, I'm starting to understand miss Eve's distaste for you commoners. Whatever you think you're doing snooping around, get lost. With that, Mirigan grabs a nearby brush and begins combing her hair, quickly and harshly as though in an effort to let out some steam. When Blake looks out the keyhole, she finds the hallway apparently empty, with Sateriasas's voice coming distantly from the stairwell they came down through
and here we go with the bumping again. Lovely
Star opens the door just a bit to take a look inside, as per usual.
Oof. Well uh, I'll attempt to get it moving. Hmm, she'd pause and think for a moment. Clearly, the rich snob won't be of any help, and that seems a good bet on anyone else in this place. For now, she'd leave the doorway, quickly and quietly heading back out into the hallway. Assuming that it was actually empty, she'd begin to look around a bit more closely. Hoping to spot some way forward outside of simply going back how she came. If that were not possible, however, the girl would sigh and creep back up the stairs, a wary look on her face as advances silently.
Sorry for the long delay, I've been wrapping up my High School career for the last few days. "Oh, it's no trouble at all. I've had similar situations myself, so it's really nothing to fret over." Weiss follows along, trailing a little behind Sateriasas. Once she sees the open door, she pauses for a moment. Was it the orange-haired girl from before..? She might have to bail her out if she gets caught. She shakes herself out of the thought before picking up her pace again, walking alongside Sateriasas. "So, Mr. Venomania? What other guests do you have here? So far I've seen the lady from before that you were talking with, and I think I saw someone in a window when I walked in."
Star opens the door to see a hallway much like the one above, though wider than before, in addition to the two doors remaining on her side, there are also a pair opposite. More importantly, she would be unable to hear the faint speaking from earlier, as they are being overridden by a pair of footsteps above her, and the sound of Saterias and Weiss's voices Blake wouldn't find any apparent secret passages on this floor, though of course the hallway bends around, and there are a few doors in the center opening back up into the grand central ballroom. So for this hallway, there is one unchecked door, the stairway she came through, Mirigan's room, and the central ballroom. As for upstairs, the layout is similar, with three already checked doors, the central ballroom, and another similar hallway bending around the ballroom. Sateriasas leads Weiss to and into the open doorway, chattering on all the while Sateriasas: Ah yes, miss Velouria. She was the one to inform me of the intruder. The sight rather worried her. As for my other guests, there's miss Lukana, a pleasant woman, I'm sure you'll be able to get along with her quite well, Mirigan, who last I checked was also on the second floor. We'll probably meet miss Mikulia fairly soon, she's always eager to welcome me back. There's also miss Priema, both of whom are of somewhat lower stature than yourself, but I have no doubt you can get along. Similarly there's a miss Lapis, pretty girl that one. Oh, but I am going on too long I suppose, you'll have plenty of time to meet them all soon enough.
Once again, Weiss pauses. Velouria? Wasn't that the name of the man's daughter..? Realizing she's probably acting a little odd, especially having done it twice now, she laughs it off before continuing her walk alongside Sateriasas. "Oh, so it's just women here besides yourself? How, erm, delightful to get a chance to meet so many other women of a similar status to myself."
Star listens in to the conversation. Hmm... interesting...it seems my machinations lay undetected! Except for the part where they probably saw me jump onto the roof. Still, that makes umm...from what I guess, six girls besides team WBS? What would that stand for anyway? White BullShit? Fuck it. Also, might have miscounted. So, let's see here, counting the four I heard, that leaves two other girls left. I think. Welp, might as well find them. See what else I can find as well. Oh wait, I can't contact the others. We didn't share contact information! Shit! Well, I'll just have to find them and tell them what I know later. Star hovers over to door number one and waits to try to locate the voices before she opens the door.
Hmm, which way to go? Star already went through the ballroom so there's no sense checking that out... There is that hallway going around it though. After thinking for a moment, Blake would begin walking down the hall that bends around the ballroom. Carefully checking it as she moves through, might just be something worth looking into around here right? Of course, there's always the chance of running into someone. But well, nothing ventured nothing gained.
Sateriasas turns back to Weiss, but makes no issue, leading her through the open door to a smallish storeroom, easily enough space for the pair of them, and largely empty aside from a few small stacks of boxes Sateriasas: I know, I know, you were probably looking forward to a bit more... Solitude. But I'm sure you'll all get along just fine. I'll take you to see Lukana first, she's the one who will be making your dresses. I'm sure she'll be able to help you get to know everyone too. Sateriasas reaches down to the floor, raising an eyebrow at a few noticably damaged boards, but makes no big deal of it as he slowly opens a trapdoor Sateriasas: Now now, its perfectly safe down there. You should go first and I'll close it for us. now that she's somewhat closer, Star can hear the conversation from earlier, it seems of the girls have been aruing, likely the talking she heard earlier woman 1: You could at LEAST call him by his actual name woman 2: You're just jealous that my prince found me well before you woman 1: And you're actually not smart enough to remember anything, are you? Woman 2: I'm every bit your equal and you know it. Continuing around the ballroom, Blake finds another hallway, shorter than the previous, with only two rooms off to the side. In addition to the normal decoratons and things that could be found in the hall, there's also a single girl, around Blake's age, wearing an elegant silver dress, the same girl she'd have seen with Sateriasas earlier. She doesn't seem to have noticed Blake, rather, with a rather sad look in her eyes, she braces herself, and enters the second room. If Blake were to wait a few minutes, she'd hear what sounds like a piano playing a slower, lower tune
She can't help but stop herself once they reach the doorway. Should she really be following this man as far as she has..? "E-er, I'm sorry, but where are we going again? And why would I need dresses? I'm not... staying that long..."
and another bump before I go to sleep for Star and Blake, since this is when you're most commonly active after all.
Another one... Closer to Blake's age? Something here tells her that this one just might be the person she's looking for, at the very least she doesn't seem too happy to be in this place. That in mind, the girl walks forward and waves as she begins to hear the piano. "Nice song, not exactly cheery but hey you play well." She'd pause for a moment, glancing around the room warily before turning back to the girl. "Anyways, you don't really look too happy being here... So I'm curious, when did you end up here? Say a couple weeks ago maybe? I've heard about people going missing after coming here, and something says you might be one of those people."
...oh shit, I think they might be coming this way. Quickly! Into a different room! Star, in a bit of a panic, floats over to a different door that voices aren't coming from, opens it, floats into the room, and closes the door before looking around the room she just went into as quietly as she could.
Sateriasas gives Weiss a little space, a flash of confusion shown before he regains his composure, the man bows low to the ground. Sateriasas: My apologies, I thought you had planned to stay a little while. Is it not appropriate to exchange gifts? I can at least extend that much hospitality. Sateriasas's smile drops as he glances to Weiss's weapon, then looks to make eye contact with the girl herself Sateriasas: Unless your business is of the... Less savory variety. But I do trust it won't have to come to that. Blake follows the girl into a small music room, much of the space is dominated by the grand piano seated by a window looking out into what was once probably a beautiful garden. The walls of the room seem to have been freshly hand painted with music notes and signs, with a few folders of sheet music laying on a nearby desk. The girl pauses, dropping the music for a moment at the sound of an unfamiliar voice. She's visibly shaking as she begins to play again, yet it doesn't seem to have much of an effect on her playing Girl: Lord Sateriasas brought me here about three weeks ago, or rather, accepted me in. I just.... The girl looks out the window for a moment, taking a deep breath before she continues Girl: Well, I ran off rather suddenly so I wish I'd gotten to tell my father about it... But he'd probably never approve. Star hides in a nearby broom closet, it actually looks rather nice, all things considered, all of the cleaning supplies are well organized leaving a little more than enough space for someone to step in and look for whatever they need, with all of the chemicals having appropriate labels for usage to make them far easier to identify even for those who've never used them before
Whew, moving is finally done. I'll be around now. "A-ah, no, of course not! I... just..." Weiss' eyes fall to the blade at Sateriasas' side. While she's a strong swordswoman in her own right, with unusual tricks up her sleeve as well, picking a fight with him might not be the best option. She lets out a light cough, then puts her hands over the center of her chest and bows her head. "My apologies, I hadn't taken such things into consideration." She brings her head back up with a smile, before walking to the trapdoor. "Now, let's continue. You said we were meeting a Miss Lukana, yes?"
Oh, you were moving too? That makes two of us then I guess? huh...I knew there was a closet here! Now then, what to do...besides the obvious part where I try to listen in. Well... there's a lot of cleaning supplies...bah, I'm sure they won't miss just ONE broom. But I'll pick that up later. It might give away my location. Oh, maybe also take some soap. Never know when slipping someone up might be useful! Star just floats perfectly still and tries to listen for anything.
Brought her here... Or accepted? Which of those is true though. Of course, getting a straight answer seems... Unlikely. "So why can't you go tell your dad now? I can't think of any reason why you wouldn't be able to leave for a bit..." That's a lie, she can think of a few ranging from magical to mundane. Not a one of them is pleasant however, and stating it outright is a good way to spook the girl. So Blake rubs the back of her head and shrugs. "I dunno, maybe that's just not how things go around here? But if you ask me, seems like leaving for a bit is something you should be able to do."
a few minutes pass before Star hears one of the girls as they leave the room, shouting back as they head past the broom closet, the other remaining more distant and faint from within the room woman 1: I'll never understand how Sateriasas puts up with you. woman 2: And I'll never understand how you got by as a performer, not with those looks. After that remark, there is an almost blessed silence once the first woman gets down the hallway Sateriasas follows Weiss's eyes, a smile growing on his face before shaking his head with a sigh and brushing a few stray hairs out of his face with a white-gloved hand Sateriasas: Darling, I think its about time you drop the act now. You've been avoiding eye contact the entire time we've walked together, nervously glancing about as though trying to make up your mind. In addition, if you had merely sought to request my hospitality, you would have undoubtedly went through the front door, with nothing to fear. The older man shrugs, shaking his head once more Sateriasas: That and I think we both no no real member of high society would carry a sword around. At least not at such a young age. If anything, you'd have a bodyguard around to make sure nothing happened. Sateriasas drops his smile, taking a few steps towards Weiss, arms open Sateriasas: Now then, let me guess as to who hired you, it was that OH so sociable judge Gallerian, wasn't it? He's been looking for a reason to bury me for years. Though of course, he must know you can't kill me. Sateriasas grins, pausing a few steps away to try looking Weiss in the eye again Sateriasas: No, you're simply here to...... That's about when Sateriasas is interrupted by the shouting from downstairs, as seen above. The man sighs, letting out a little laugh as he takes a step back, taking a much gentler stance as he tries looking Weiss in the eyes Sateriasas: Sounds like miss Lolan and Mikulia are at it again. Terribly sorry for the timing, seems they have an argument nearly every day. Ah well, guess you can't keep everyone happy. As for Blake, the young girl stops playing for a moment, pulling at the collar of her dress as she glances out the window girl: Well, its just... We can't really let people know we're living with him. Otherwise they'd talk and it would end up all over the news, just like those lame reality TV shows. Just imagine the scandal, one young bachelor living with fifteen women? We'd never get a second of peace. The girl giggles a little, idly twirling the ends of her her short hair between her fingers girl: Though I imagine some of us would like that, Mikulia especially. She seems to appreciate every bit of attention she's given. Or at least, every bit she can get from Sateriasas
I'm about to be gone on a trip for about a week. Unfortunately, I'll have no access to the site. Not that it won't delay this that much more than it hasn't already been, sheesh... Wish I was more available recently, but life grabbed me. Once I get back I should be around, although I think I've said that every time now... "Tch, you're certainly sharp, huh? I took you for a fool... I guess we were both acting. But please, I take care of myself. No bodyguard I know could dream of protecting me before I protect them..." She can't help but sigh at being found out. Idly placing her hand on the pummel of her sheathed blade, Weiss shakes her head. "Anyways, Gallerian? I honestly have no idea who that is. Like I said when we first encountered, I'm really just here to determine the cause of the recent occurances of missing women, namely miss Velouria, who you confirmed to be on the premises. And kill you? Please, I have no reason to dirty my hands with your blood. I'd much prefer solving this peacefully." "Well, now that I've come clean about why I'm here..." She takes a step towards him, left hand on her hip and the other pointed right at his face. "How about you do the same and tell me why you happen to be harboring all these young ladies here with all their families worried sick?"
That'll be fine, I'll simply initiate the second part of this series primarily for 33 and Quintus while you're gone, hopefully they'll both wrap up around the same time and things can get a bit more interesting from there. Good luck on the trip, and I'll see about bumping this to make it easier to find in a week
Not sure if you know or not, but threads get locked after 7 days of inactivity. So... yeah, you can bump then delete the post to keep it alive.
its two weeks, I've already checked by looking at older threads, it informs you if they're locked
Hmm, looking at it, it seems like it's 10 days, as anything of that age or older is locked from inactivity. In any case, it used to be exactly a week and I've confirmed with others that I'm, in fact, not crazy and it was changed.
And here too for Blake and Star now that Heiress exists again and we can proceed once they have acted
...drama. okay then. Just keep waiting and hope nobody needs to mop anything. Star keeps waiting in the closet, doing nothing but listening.
Hmm, cause a stir huh? There's something a bit more going on... Or so she'd guess, no reason to bother this girl too much. "Hmm, so you're really here because you want to be? Well, that's good to know... Can't say I quite get it myself though, but hey unless you're having problems with being stuck here good for you." She'd walk off, just a bit slowly to give the girl time to respond. Assuming however that there's no talk of being held captive. In which case she'd begin returning to where she had last seen Weiss, hopeful that by this point there would no longer be anyone in said area.
Sateriasas sighs and closes his eyes as he shakes his head, both arms out open to the side almost as if preparing for an embrace Sateriasas: Darling, I think there's a misunderstanding here. I'm not harboring anyone against their will, if that's what you were thinking of. Sateriasas opens his eyes again, a piercing violet stare meeting Weiss's own gaze. At that moment, something happens. It becomes very easy to believe him, After all, he has shown nothing but hospitality in spite of knowing your intent was against him. In fact, even now, he seems quite forgiving. Kind. Attractive even. Sateriasas: In fact, most of them asked to remain with me. You'll find not a one of them mistreated, not by me anyways, as I said, misses Mikulia and Lolan don't get along very well. Still, for many, I provide a shelter, a safe haven from the ever maddening world around them. I'm sure you must understand. Sateriasas glances to the sword at Weiss's side, it almost seems like a shame for her to have to bring it around so much, yet that's the only way the world works, doesn't it? Sateriasas gently reaches to hold her right hand Sateriasas: Perhaps you would care to join us? Its a bit to get used to, but we could really all live happily together, safe from the tempest of chaos around us. Is that not enough? Another few minutes pass and Star hears the shutting of a door, followed by silence. Its likely that no one is in the hallway outside anymore. Unless you think someone enjoys staring at broom closets or something The girl nods, waving to Blake as she goes, a bright smile lighting up her once gloomy face girl: I'm glad you understand just.... Please don't let anyone know you were here. That would just cause us so much more trouble. Its probably for the best if you just forget what you saw here. With those parting words, Blake quickly makes it over near the staircase where she and Weiss split, leaving her at a hallway on the north side where there is miss Mirigan's room, the staircase, one door leading into the ball room, and one door currently unchecked, which is, of course, utterly silent
Star walks out of the closet after she hears nothing else. hmm...I heard that white haired girl a few minutes ago...is she okay? Star goes back to the entrance down to the basement that she took, thinking it's time to take a risk and figure out what's going on.
a little bump when Weiss and Blake are usually around and hoping for the best I guess
Weiss simply swats his hand away with the back of her own. "Enough! I'm returning these women to where they belong! The world may be harsh, but they've got people in their homes who care for and protect them, and they want them back so they can do just that!" She puts her left hand down onto the handle of her sword, along with placing her pointer and middle fingers together on her right, and readying herself for resistance. "Take me to Velouria and the others before I make you!"
She'd sigh and look around... Well, at this point it seems like now might be a decent time to go looking for Weiss. She could have sworn she heard shouting in fact, but that might be paranoia... "I really hope this isn't going to become an issue soon, but for some reason, I feel our luck won't hold." The girl walks off for Weiss, heading back up and aiming to go after her teammate as quietly as possible for now. Of course, who knows how much that's worth by this point? Either way it seems as if things are about to get "interesting".
I'm sorry Blake, did you mean down? As you are on the second floor and Weiss is on the first, either way you'll head to the staircase for now, close enough to overhear her conversation with Sateriasas at least. Similarly, Star rushes by the room where she heard the ladies arguing, the door shut and a much quieter level of conversation being held within, and returns to the area she got to the basement from. She would also be able to hear the conversation with Sateriasas. As for Sateriasas and Weiss, the duke sighs shaking his hand off in the air as he maintains eye contact Sateriasas: So you would seek to separate me from my loved ones against their own will? And this is justice how? You claim to be returning them where they belong, but their rightful place is at my side. Can you not see that? Sateriasas: Not only their rightful home, but yours as well. Weiss faintly sees a purple flash from the Duke's eyes before..... Nothing around her seems to have changed. But she finds a sudden blossoming affection for the duke, its easy to understand his plight, and rather feel a little sad for how far Sateriasas had to go. In a way, that makes him even more perfect, so much so that she'd gladly do anything he said, save something that would force her to leave his side. And a few notes on what just happened, Sateriasas here has a charm ability strong enough to be typically referred to as brainwashing and works on any members of the opposite gender, regardless of orientation (yes, this is specified). If you're uncomfortable with playing this out Heiress, I can take control of Weiss until the spell has been removed, as I can understand it might be a bit awkward, though I could have flat-out taken over, I thought it better to ask what you thought of the matter.
a bump around when Weiss and Blake are most active, probably should have done this two hours ago, but I digress
For now, there's... Well, there is one obvious choice here isn't there? Attacking seems like a decent idea, but for how long can she keep it up? The man is quite clearly taking over people's minds... So how to stop him? He has to be sleeping sometime right, so how's the security when he's doing that is the issue here. For now, Blake would simply aim to keep in the shadows and continue listening in to this madness, but if she can get a good shot... Well, she's never been one for fair fights.
alright, I guess I’ll try bumping this again
So, that's what you've been doing, huh? Controlling people isn't exactly very nice you know. I'll just assume that your method of control involves sight, as that's the usual method. Star gets out of the basement and onto the first floor, pulling a piece of cloth out and tieing it so that her eyes would be covered. Now, I might not be able to see, but who said that I have to see in order to hit you. Now prepare to eat...lead? Star pulls from her back two fairly sized guns. ...oh yeah, I only brought these guns. Shit. I'm supposed to use swords, not guns. Now the whole ninja theme is ruined.
I figured his powers would be something of the sort. I'm all in for this. I've ended up taking a little longer break from the site than I initially intended. I didn't think I needed it, but I ended up in need of it anyways. Hopefully I'll be back in full force now. "My... home?" Weiss suddenly giggles at the thought of it. She lifts her hand off her sword and brings it up to Sateriasas' own, warmly placing it on his. "You'd really accept me, despite all the terrible things I've said. My, what a lovely man you truly are..." Deep inside herself, she's fighting back against her own words, but nothing she does can halt his charm. Hearing Star enter the scene, she turns to her, almost reluctantly retracting her hand from Sateriasas and bringing it down back onto her sword, this time facing her ally. "You'd separate me from my beloved? What a pest. Lord Satriasas needn't sully his blade with your putrid blood, I can eliminate you myself..." Keeping a hand on her blade's handle, Weiss stretches her right arm out to the side, with her pointer and middle fingers locked together, a small white glyph encircling them.
Sateriasas looks over to Star with surprise, one eyebrow raised as he shakes his head Sateriasas: Are... Yes, you're the intruder miss Velouria saw. Not sure what's with the get-up, but I'm sure there's no need to be s... He stops as Weiss gives her own speech, taking a few steps to get between Weiss and Star, holding out an arm in front of Weiss and looking at her with genuine care in his eyes Sateriasas: Miss Schnee, please wait upstairs. I can take care of myself, and besides, I could never bear to watch you get hurt. Especially for a quarrel that has naught to do with you While he is ordering Weiss to do something, its far from mind control. She still has primary control over her actions, merely causing an infatuation and with it tendency to want to help Sateriasas rather than full on mind-control. With his request given, Sateriasas looks back to Starwaddle, both arms well away from his own weapon Sateriasas: Just how old are you anyways? You seem rather... Young to be an assassin. But no thief would have stayed here for so long. Just how low are they willing to stoop? Sateriasas is of course, focused on Star in the closet, rather than behind him near the stairway where Blake would be. If Weiss were to listen to Sateriasas, she'd no doubt pass by Blake. sorry for the delay, pretty rough few days, but I'm ready to get through this when everyone else is
bump for... Everyone really. Should have bumped the other one earlier when Alex was around
alright, lets try this again. Heiress should probably post first as their actions would likely affect that of others, We're getting kinda close to the end so I'd really like to finish this
Not gonna lie, I'm not sure why I gravitated directly to full on shift in stance of the situation. Uh, might end up taking her in a different direction that contradicts before, but whatever it didn't make sense anyways. She thinks for a moment, before putting down her arms and backing away. "Very well. I'll allow you to handle the situation, Lord Sateriasas." She turns around, heading back towards the stairs, coincidentally towards Blake.
ok, now for blake and Star I guess, whenever they're around
Cat ears are at least good for something, and the young woman would hear Weiss coming long before she sees her teammate. On the other hand, hiding isn't quite what she has in mind and she'd instead wave casually to the other girl as the door opens. "Heya Weiss, so how's it going anyways? Gotta say, didn't know your tastes ran so old." She'd chuckle softly, walking a bit closer to her friend with a grin on her face... Granted, at the moment running sounds good but she's not about to just give up. Even more so with someone she knows in danger. "Seriously though, shouldn't you think about other things? I think he's got enough girls, our team on the other hand barely exists... Kinda need ya around. Besides, when exactly did this happen? You've known him for less than an hour, maybe take a step back." She'd shrug, reaching up to her head and pulling the bow off it to reveal a pair of cat ears. "I know we've had our issues, but despite that, I do in fact care. I trust you and all, so if you really think this is best I guess I won't stop you..."
Hey, I'll have you know I'm seventy years old, even if I do have the mind of a eighteen years old who has no life! And I'm just here to steal your brooms and soaps. Seriously, that's fucking stupid and I'm going through so much trouble just to steal that kinda stuff, but fuck it! I'm insane! Why else would I bring guns to a sword fight, and then blind myself for said fight when I could just shoot and be done with it!? It doesn't make any sense! AHHHHHHH!! Random screaming!! Star shoots wildly with blanks, hitting everything but Sateriasas. Her aim sucks. Finally got around to doing this.
A few shots pass close to Sateriasas, causing him to reflexively raise his arms to cover his face, but after a moment passes with only the nearby storage boxes being destroyed, Sateriasas breathes a sigh of frustration and adjusts his hair Sateriasas: I must say I was hop.... Sateriasas is interrupted by another shot passing close by, he briefly glances back behind him to make sure Weiss had left the room, before grinning back to Star Sateriasas: Hoping to avoid this, b.... Another one of the wild shots trims off the ends of Sateriasas's hair, leading the man to touch the point on his cheek where he was nearly hit before sighing as he seems to grow a little, his ears and fingernails seem to get longer as Sateriasas Sateriasas: Just STOP that already Sateriasas's grin vanishes completely as his tranformation completes, a pair of feathery, raven-like wings emerge from his back, ripping through his back as a full set of curved, goat-like horns come out from the top of his head. Finally, his ears grow longer and.. Furrier, also like that of a goat, as the man lunges towards star and tries to slash straight through her guns with his claws, likely getting himself shot in the process. Weiss and Blake are undoubtably close enough to hear the gunshots, though it might be a bit difficult to hear Sateriasas over them. The spell on Weiss would still hold firmly, at least for now
