It was to hard to fix The problem with FFXVs story anyway. But I just hope it doesn't impact Squares other games that much.
On the contrary, I hope this does impact their games.
They had gone full "Games as a Service" and stopped developing games as just honest to god games, and were planning on giving us more piecemeal products with repair patches and non-optional DLC.
I hope this rights this wrong and Square goes back to making games with non 10+ year dev cycles.
I'm actually pissed off about this. I was so looking forward to Episode Luna and Episode Noctis. Mainly because Luna is literally so underdeveloped, Sarah from a collab was a better pair with Noctis than her, and Noctis is also best boy. Also, I thought Comrades was like $20 on DLC for FFXV if you have the original disc and not the special edition or whatever it's called.
I can get that frustration, but with how short the other episodes were, you probably were not going to get any additional character development. Just like with Prompto's episode, you don't actually learn anything new about him. They just extend gameplay with what we already know, using a different play style.
Episode Noctis was allegedly going to be an alternate ending for the game.
All Episodes are only about 2 hours long on top of that.
In December, Comrades is suppose to release for $10 stand alone for people who don't own the game, and apparently it's adding in new bosses, weapons, and costumes. I don't know how much of this will remain true now that they had to file the losses.
