Who says I don't? I know a lot of cops. These are the sort of questions they ask. No-one saw ya, so you have no alibi. That makes you a suspect, no? I'm ain't throwin logical possibilities away, see. Don't get me wrong. I ain't sayin you did it. Honestly, I doubt you did. But I ain't rulin the possibility. Could've been Setsuna. Could've been you. Could've been anyone, really. We all have motive. Not all have an alibi. Those are the people we should be lookin towards first. *Jack smirks at Gazette.* Or am I wrong?
As it stands, for me at least, we need to talk to Geoff and Jin to get more info on what they are doing. Though i doubt we have enough time to do either, so I'll go see if i can find anything else out. Gotta look good when you're going to court!
[After a quick trip to the Storage Room, Jin saw Gazette and Jack talking.] "News, Cards. You guys find anything useful?"
Mitsuko saw the explosion, but showed no notable change on the outside. Though she wanted to invesfigate the body, she decided to grab a Monokuma file and leaf through. Something caught her eye immedietly, and she used a nearby pen to circle it. She decided she needed to talk about this to the group, so she decided to at her earliest possible opportunity. She thought to herself again "Well, I can't tell everyome right now; might as well go see that reporter girl to get my name off the suspect list." This in mind, she went to gp find Gazette.
Shoji grabs the Monokuma file and looks at the info "Well this tells me absolutely nothing, I guess I gotta see what the others find" Shoji goes over to the storage room and notices Jack, Gazette and Jin there "Hey, have you guys found anything?"
Gazette turns to Jin and kinda shrugs Not much yet, but now that you're here, can i ask you a few questions? I'm trying to get everyone's story straight so we can find the culprit. Elm might have found something though. Gazette sees Mitsuko coming up at the distance, waving her over to talk. (With any luck, i can start do alot of these at once) And with luck, Shoji came over to them and then Gaette took a step back to answer them As it stands, i just want to ask our 3 newcomers some questions to make sure we understand whats happening. We can do it privately or together. (Wouldn't be the first time i took 3 at once)
"You want to question us? Well that's fine with me, I don't really care if we do it as a group or not so i'll let these two decide"
"Well, I woke up, heard Monokuma's announcement, ran to the cafeteria, and decided that I'd fuck with people. So I wrote a note saying I ate the stuff in the fridge."
(Wouldn't be the first time i took 3 at once)ooc: there's no way that's not a sexual euphemism
Shoji looks at Jin after hearing what he had to say "Wow, you're kind of an asshole, but that means it's absolutely not you, in games it's never the asshole in the group who actually does anything really bad"
Elm turned to look at Jin. "Wait, Jin, you didn't eat the food, but to mess with people you told them you did? That's really fucked up. You know we're all starving to death, right? I mean, it's true that a bomb was put in the fridge at some point, but we were all still starving!'
"I know right? Prank of the century."
Trying to decide on whether he should believe Jin or not, Elm stepped back to leave the interview to the professional.
Geoff would walk into the storage room.
After spending some time in her room, Setsuna stretches and breathes out a sigh, leaving her door open as she heads out towards the Library
(Apart of me now wishes it was Jin would die instead of Nobidy. There's still alot we don't know about him.) She sighs and jots the information down, looking back up at them A few questions, to anyone who hasn't answered yet, what were you guys doing? Also at the time of the announcement?
Geoff would come out of the storage room "Hey, does anyone know what this black powder is? It looks like there's a trail of it from here to the kitchen and there's literal assloads in here."
passing by, Setsuna glances back to the sound of Geoff's voice, she pauses for a moment, tapping her foot before her eyes light up that black stuff? Apparently its called gunpowder. Tastes pretty awful so I dunno why you'd want it in the kitchen. Unless you were really desparate
[The sound of Monokuma's voice was heard all over the building.] "The Class Trial is about to begin! Head to the elevator immidately!" [And so, everyone entered the Elevator. Among them was the killer. It was their duty to find out who it was.]
(edited by MonoShadow)
Gazette shivered as she wa surrounded by her classmates. Among them a monster who will stop at nothing to escape.it was a trial of life, a trail of death, one last stand to catch the culprit the same way they're escaping, through this game. (I just hope I can live long enough to tell the story!)
Setsuna heads through the elevator, glancing around distrustfully at the others before they finally arrive in the meeting room. The girl steps up to her own podium and leans on it, breathing out a sigh Alright so how's this mess gonna work? We just supposed to yell at each other until somethin' comes out?
"You've got the basic idea! But to go into more detail, you'll have to debate, and, after I've had enough, you'll vote for who you think did it! If you're right, the Blackened will be punished! If note, they'll get to go while you'll all be punished!"
Elm stares in awe at the trial room. “This... doesn’t look like any trial room I’ve ever seen.”
Alright I guess we should start with the introduction of how he died. She flips around her notepad, even pulling out her Monopad The Victim was Nobidy Hear the Ultimate Agent He was killed in an Explosion at The Cafeteria at 12:30 PM. She takes a breath The first obvious question is: what was everyone doing at the time?
"I was in my room and hoping that I wouldn't end up starving to death"
Geoff would have his head down, sweating nervously at the scene before him. "I uh, I was in my room trying to make stew so we wouldn't need to kill one another."
"I was just dicking around in the cafeteria."
Setsuna closes her eyes with a sigh I already told you, I was reorganizing some of the stuff in my room adding the sports gear I took from the storage room yesterday
“I was asleep at the time, and I was awakened by the explosion. I ran over and heard the announcement on my way over. When I got to the kitchen, there were already around 6 people there.”
Gazette glared Geoff and then sighed, turning her attention to Elm Just to clarify, who were the 6 people you saw? Of course, not everyone was there to see.
“If I’m remembering correctly, there was Hana, Jack, Shoji, Geoff, Mitsuko and Jin. And maybe Setsuna. They all got there before me, and Jack looked like he was about to start laughing his ass off.” Elm glared at Jack.
"Kinda fucked up, Cards."
"What about that was funny?" Geoff would ask, staring at Jack. "What the fuck about a man being blown up is funny to you?"
T’s all about circumstances. I mean, the guy got killed by an exploding fridge. That’s just not something you see ev’ry day. *Jack chuckles, shrugging slightly* What can I say? Laughter is the best medicine. It’s also a damn good copin mechanism when shit hits the fan.
Setsuna clears her throat, raising her voice to the group "First off, that's kinda sick doofus. This is definitely no laughing matter. But putting that aside I think we should focus on who could have done the murder, not who's the biggest jerk here."
“I’m not gonna deny that it is actually a coping mechanism, but that still was quite fucked up. Whatever. That doesn’t matter right now. What matters is finding out who killed him.” Elm looks around, making eye contact with everyone.
(edited by ElmTully)
I agree. With Setsuna. Gazette turns her gaze to her We need to know exactly what went down in that room if we're ever going to solve this cause. Any objections?
Mitsuko decided to speak up. "Gazette, right? Well asking for our alibis may be the most obvious question, but there's a clear question that's so clear I'm scared it has been overlooked. The question is this - was Nobidy *really* killed by someone? Or was he punished? Then we need to follow that up with - if he was killled by someone, how did they both get into the cafeteria after 10pm when it's closed and punishable to enter?" She shot a look to Gazette. "If you don't mind, I think this may be a little bit important right now." She said, a sarcastic tone hitting her voice.
"Uh, who was in the cafeteria last night? Before the curfew I mean."
[Monokuma turned to Mitsuko] "The Culprit's one of you! If Ultimate Agent had been punished, we wouldn't be having a Class Trial!"
"Let's look for whatever leads we have." [Jin took out a list.] "Here's my contribution- An Inventory of the stuff inside the Storage Room. I've read it pretty thoroughly, and the stuff that went missing from one day to the next are a few sports things... And the exact things you'd need to make a bomb."
Well duh, of course. I thought of suicide too. I want to lay this out there... Gazette looks over at Mitsuko They were killed at 12:30. We wake up at 8. That's four hours to set up a bomb in these. It in my opinion that the killer built the bomb over night then painted it when the kitchen was empty. However, suicide is always a option. Killing himself for everyone else to eat and survive, without making any of us the killer. So you tell me, Miss. Hunter, who would want to kill Nobidy?
Setsuna looks back at her Monopad, looking up what little info was known on the case before piping back up apparently he died a little after noon, when the cafeteria was open. So you'd be kinda stupid to assume either he or the culprit had visited the cafeteria the night before.
“Wait.” Elm turns toward Jin. “You said that everything missing from the storage room is all components needed for a bomb, so therefore the bomb was made by the culprit. Which means the culprit is someone who knows how to build a bomb.”
"Yyyup. I admit, I know how to do it, so I'm pretty fishy. But I didn't do it."
"Well, Jin is pretty suspicious, but the more I think about it, there is a possibility that it isn't him."
Setsuna breathes out a sigh and crosses her arms So I'm supposed to believe it wasn't the person who makes bombs and has been in storage room multiple times before?
"Hey, if I had made the bomb, it would have injured him at worst. I hate it when stuff is perfect."
“He has been in the kitchen the most since the announcement of the motive. He also claimed that he went into the fridge and ate the food, meaning he was in the fridge more recently. I don’t know if I’m ready to believe it isn’t you, Jin.”
(edited by ElmTully)
"Maybe there is some bomb kit around here, knowing Monokuma, there probably is. If not, then Jin is super suspicious. Or hell, maybe Monokuma did it to start the game "
"Wasn't me! I can't personally go and kill one of you! It's against my programmi- I mean, the rules!"
"So we have a person controlling you? Yep, boredom would kill someone."
“It’s possible that there was a bomb supply kit, but where would it have been? And if it was a kit, why were all the individual materials missing if the killer had a kit? I personally doubt that there’s a kit, though it is possible that there was an instruction sheet somewhere, listing all the materials and how to put ten together. It would also explain how the bomb was ‘perfect’, like Jin said, because it was put together very precisely according to instructions.”
"I was meaning 'Perfect' in the sense that it killed someone- my inventions aren't good enough to kill anything. Well, aside from the Giant Robots, but I don't have the stuff to make one here."
"Yep, maybe there was instructions in the storage room? If there was, i didn't find it."
Don't be ridiculous Setsuna bursts out while pointing at Jin "it couldn't have killed someone" is the lamest excuse I've ever heard. Besides, if it wasn't you who else could it be?
"But doesn't it seem sort of out of character for Monokuma to do that? Just leave something lying around in hopes of someone finding it? It seems more like him to announce it, if I'm being completely honest."
"Ah, true.. Sorry, I am just being dumb. But Jin is still suspicious. He could have just said that he didn't eat the real food and planted a bomb in it."
"Yea, gotta agree there Jin. I mean, I can't speak for all the others, but it seems most likely for the 'Ultimate Mechanic' to build a bomb that could kill. Of course, if we can find bomb instructions, that opens up a lot more avenues. But hell, even me, the only mechanical thing I know shit about is how to operate, fix, and clean a gun. Other then that, I'm incompetent."
Jin, to help relief your suspicion how about you explain what you were doing this morning and yesterday night. There is also.. Gazette looks over at Geoff What was in the stew exactly?
"Yeah, what is supposed to be in the stew exactly?"
"yeah that is some very interesting stew" Oliver finally said
(edited by Oliver_Romero)
Elm chuckles to himself. "Heh. After all this bomb stuff, I almost completely forgot about Geoff's 'mystery stew'. I'm intrigued as well, even if it has nothing to do with the murder."
"Oh the stew? Well, There was a lot of leather bound books in the library, and you had mentioned eating leather before so I thought I could try making a stew out of the books but uh." Geoff would raise his arms, both of which were red and lightly burned. "I'm not really a the best chef, and spilled it on me when the announcement happened."
(edited by dopl)
I see what you mean. I was going to eat Elm Out gator skin clothes. Alright, but isn't burning books against the rules? Don't they count as school property?
"Huh. So that's what it was. I mean, eating leather is better than better than starving to death, but doesn't that count as damaging school property? I'm surprised you of all people took that risk." Elm smiles a bit. "So, back to the trial. What have you been up to this whole time, Jin?"
(edited by ElmTully)
"If using school property to make food is against the rules, then we wouldn't be able to eat even after someone has died. Dicing a tomato or mashing potatoes would break school rules then." Geoff would reply
"I highly doubt that food is school property..."
“I don’t really understand what’s even going on right now, I’ll just continue to let the smart people talk”
"Okay guys, let's not worry about the stew right now and get back on track. Who killed Nobidy?"
OOC: We're just waiting on Jin for the moment, they're the one in the spotlight so probably best to wait on them
"Umm.. Then I'll explain so far what happened. So gunpowder barrels were used to make a track to the cafeteria, specifically, the fridge. Doesn't help that the storage had a lot of stuff to make a bomb or even a fire. The broom was used to clean up the gunpowder trails afterwards. What some people know, behind of a fridge is very flammable. Mostly for the cooling for the fridge. Maybe a bomb wasn't made but rather a fire instead!"
"From an explosion like that? No way. It was most likely a bomb. The most the fridge's circuit's could probably do is give him some second degree burns, but not send him flying back, melting his flesh. And, it went off when the fridge was opened. Therefore it couldn't have been a fire in the fridge, because it would've been seen or smelled by Nobidy before he opened the fridge." Elm takes a deep breath. "And don't forget that bomb-building materials went missing from the storage shed. It's impossible for it to be a coincidence. It was most definitely a bomb."
(edited by ElmTully)
"Hmmm... You are right, gah.."
"Well, getting everybody in the same headspace is good, so if anybody else has any theories, no matter how outlandish, say them. So we can either disprove them and put the idea to rest, or to follow along to possibly find more evidence."
(edited by ElmTully)
"Still, Jin is in suspicion, yes? Mechanic and all, and just overall acting strange."
"True. What do you have to say about that, Jin?" Elm turns toward Jin.
"Well, I know I'm very suspicious, but trust me. I ain't killed anyone. I was in my room last night, trying to tinker with the TV. I got tired, so I slept. Then, I heard the morning announcement, and went straight to the cafeteria to put my note on the fridge. That's all, folks."
It was this morning, shut up
Elm recalls. "You didn't leave the note on the fridge today, that was a day ago! What were you doing this morning?" Elm doesn't trust Jin. (no that was yesterday, elm went and investigated the note on the fridge, but was asleep up until the explosion)
"I was in the cafeteria this morning. And the day before, I guess. But tell me. What were you doing yesterday?"
"I was in the library reading for a bit, and then I hung in the common room for a bit to see who had woken up. I then came across you in the kitchen, finding out you had eaten the only piece of food. I started walking back to my room when I overheard Hana saying that Geoff was making stew of some kind, in which I went to check it out. While I was in front of Geoff's room, I ended up meeting up with Jack, Leo and Hana. Just as Jack offered to pick the lock, the 10pm announcement was made, in which I went back to my room."
"I was the same; last night I was out with Hana walking around, went to bed, and woke up with the 8am announcement. After that, I started heading to the cafeteria, ran into idiot and Hana, hung with them for a while, and then the explosion went off."
"Who are you talking about when you say Idiot? For the investigation's sake."
"Geoff, but not to imply I think any better of the vast majority of you."
"Hmmm... I've been thinking. Monokuma, what's Tree's talent?"
"Upupupu! You sure you want me to drop that bombshell?"
"It could help the investigation. The game'll stop if the killer gets away with murder, so what if it turns out Tree being the Ultimate Whtaever's pivotal?"
"I've been wondering that too, but even the key he gave me, which usually has something to do with all of your ultimate talents, has a question mark. I am curious, but I don't really care about it at this moment. I'm focused on finding the killer." Elm reassures himself. He then began pondering what his ultimate talent could be.
Ah! Gazette looks back over at Elm. (Of course, if he was a builder of some sort then it would make sense but....) I don't think it matters. He doesn't remember anything of his talent, with that in mind he can't be able to make something like that even if he tried!
"How are you so sure? For all we know, he could be something like, I don't know, the Ultimate Schizo."
Then it would prove he wouldn't have the skills to make the bomb!
"Yeah?! Well Monokuma, fuckin' say it!"
"Upupupupupupupupu... Elm Tully is actually... The Ultimate Terrorist!"
"Ha! I was right, it's gonna help!... Wait... Ultimate WHAT?!"
"Did you say... Terrorist?" Setsuna's eyes widen, though she hadn't had much experience with them herself, its definitely a buzz word "So, let me get this straight, we've got a terrorist here and let him in to the storage room, unwatched, frequently?"
Pff. I already fallen for your lies, teddy bear! How do we know you're not lying?
"aren't you supposed to be an investigator?" Setsuna glares at Gazette out the corner of her eye "We'll know he's not lying as soon as there's proof. So where is it?"
"I don't lie! You wanna know something else? Jin's robophiliac!"
"Shit, he knows."
"I'm..confused... So can we go back to the original topic, please?"
Elm looks stunned. He's frozen with fear. "Y-you... you can't be serious...! I'm a..." Elm looks down, and stops talking.
(edited by ElmTully)
Elm... Gazette looks forward at them, then to Setsuna You're right, unless he knew about his talent to begin with, then it's useless to talk about it.
Setsuna breathes out a sigh and shakes her head Alright idiots, lets take it from the top, what all was taken from the storage room in order to make the bomb?
"Gunpowder Barrels...and that's all we have. Well as evidence at least."
"Gunpowder, Nitroglycerin, a fuse, and a motion detector- That's the stuff missing on the list. You know, aside from the Basketball and Baseball bat."
"Gunpowder's used for explosives?" Setsuna pauses for a moment, shuddering for a moment at the thought of her eating it, before breathing out a sigh "Nevermind, that's good, because now we have a time frame."
"I guess so, that's kinda the reason why I brought up fire."
"Its much more than a mere fire Hana." Setsuna grins and taps her foot, closing her eyes before finally declaring "I know for a fact the bomb was made yesterday because there was significantly less gunpowder left when I looked into the storage room after the murder, than I saw earlier when I grabbed the sports gear. Therefore, the killer has to have been in there some time after I was."
"In that case, the people before you are suspicious, right?"
Elm snaps back to reality, realizing something. "Wait... What if it's a two-man job...? One person got the materials from the storage room, the other assembled the bomb and they rigged it up together?"
"Ah, that could be the case, but do we have proof of it though..?"
"That..... Is the exact opposite of what it means." Setsuna breathes out a sigh and closes her eyes for a moment before looking back up at the group "The people in the storage room before I was don't matter, because they didn't take the gunpowder, its only the people who were there AFTER I was that can be the culprit." Setsuna casts Elm a sideways glare "Don't be ridiculous. Unless we are given a good reason to assume there were multiple culprits, its just a dumb thing to worry about."
" Oh..I misheard, sorry about that.. "
You're denying the reality that the killer could have made the bomb in the 8-12:30 timeframe in the morning. Unless you have proof of it?
"So...who does that leave as suspects?"
"To the contrary" Setsuna waves her finger with a grin "8-12:30 the morning of the murder would be an excellent time for the culprit to have come in, either that or the afternoon the day before. Any time before then can be considered irrelevant"
"So basically we have no proof of who did it? Not even a single hair? Oof..."
Yeah, especially if the culprit can get in and out in only a few minutes. Especially from their dorm to the kitchen. All depends really.
"In that case, alibis are the most important thing right now..."
"If you're trying to imply something" Setsuna slams her hand on her podium as she looks at Gazette "Best to come out and say it, none of this passive-aggressive stuff"
Answer this then runner: How do we know you're not lying? As i stands, you're the only one who saw the amount of gunpowder change. If you we're the killer then of course you would stretch out the time frame to try and include more people! She slams her podium and looks at her
"Okay, people are lying here... Let's see... Was there any crates in the storage?"
"That is true. If Setsuna was the only one seeing the amount of gunpowder change, we can't be fully sure. And frankly, I'm not sure if I believe it. I'm not sure how much gunpowder is needed to create a bomb, but surely not enough to leave a big enough dent noticeable in a large barrel by someone who isn't looking for it."
"If I were the killer, I'd've let you run around in circles accusing Jin and Elm." Setsuna shrugs, glancing back at Gazette with a smug grin "though I'll admit I'm surprised you took this long to accuse me. Honestly I thought you'd be happy since, far as I can tell it excludes your boyfriend." "And of course there were a few crates and barrels in there, but I don't see what that would have to do with whether or not I'm lying. There's no denying I was in the storage room."
Woah hold on now... Gazette fidgets slightly and turns to Setsuna with a angry glare You know, sure. If helping my "boyfriend" sets the killer in jail then its all fine with me. BY THE WAY! She points at her Its called leaving suspicion off of yourself.
"Wait... what?"
Hush honey.
Setsuna chuckles before breathing out a sigh “All it did was remind you I exist. But anyways. Now that we have a known timeframe, we need to know who all entered the storage room in it.”
Of course i remember you. You're one of the few people here making sense. (Or talking for that matter) For one, I never in my life stepped in there. So i wouldn't know what was in there.
(edited by Gazette_Luizen)
"...We can't find proof that someone did it huh? Only words can help us find the killer. I doubt Setsuna or Gaz did it."
"The problem is, we can't have people who we don't think it is, or we won't suspect them at all. If we're gonna find the killer, everyone needs to be a suspect. Personal feelings don't matter, hard evidence does. Saying 'I don't think so and so did it' isn't going to get us anywhere. We need to figure this case out, for Nobidy's sake."
(edited by ElmTully)
"And one other thing. Clearly no one entered the storage room between the times Setsuna went in, which means there is no murderer among us. But that's not possible. So we need to look at everyone who went inside the storage room before the murder took place. Another thing, if we eliminate Setsuna's timeframe, we are left with a very vague guess at when the culprit set up the bomb. So, we know it definitely wasn't after 12:30 today, because that's when the murder took place. But, we can eliminate anytime before the last person opened the fridge. I'm not sure about anybody else, but the last time I opened the fridge was almost exactly 2 days before the murder. If I was the last person to open the fridge before the culprit, that would leave a timeframe of approximately 2 days. If anybody has anything that could narrow down this timeframe, speak up." Elm looks at everyone around the room.
Oliver stayed silent throughout the trial, gathering all the information he can without trying to get involved. As of now he agreed that alibis are the most important thing as of now, but that also is the reason he's getting frustrated. There's not nearly enough information to even point a finger accurately. "Alright, so to refresh where this trial has been going it's a bit like this: Killer planted the bomb between 8:00am to 10:00pm Killer had to be able to make a bomb or had instructions to make one. Catn was in her room from: ??? Jin claims to be have been dicking around in the cafeteria from some time but then changed his alibi to say he was in his room last night tinkering with his tv before sleeping and waking up to the announcements. The time he spent is his room was: ??? Stuff needed to make a bomb came from the storage room. Time of death was 12:30pm. Geoff tried making leather stew from the books at the library. Gun powder barrels was used to make the bomb. Elm was in the in the library reading for: ???, then he hung out in the common room for: ???, then he went to the kitchen to find out Jin had (falsely) ate the only piece of food. He started walking back to his room when he overheard Hana saying Geoff was making stew, so he checked it out. While he was in front of Geoff's room he met Jack, Leo, and Hana. As Jack picked the lock the 10pm announcement was made, so he went back to his room around 10pm yesterday. Mitsuko was with Hana walking around at: ??? and went to bed at: ??? yesterday. She woke up at 8am to the announcement. She went to the cafeteria and then hung out with Hana again from: ???, and then heard the explosion which would mean she hung out with Hana from 8am to 12:30pm at most. Elm's true ability is the Ultimate Terrorist, however he looks as shocked as I was to hear it. Jin claims the items that were used from the storage to make the bomb are gunpowder, nitroglycerin, a fuse, and a motion detector... which would make sense but I think since Nobidy fully opened the fridge door the bomb was triggered by a wire attacked to the fuse. Though that's just me. Setsuna claims that the bomb had to have been made yesterday. Elmco suggests the idea that it was a two man job, one person for the materials and the other to make the bomb, and they both set it up. Setusna then claims we should focus on the people who went to the storage room after her, because the amount of gunpowder was higher when she was there. Anyone care to expand on this or fill in the blanks?" Oliver asked everyone. (Also this is not in order)
"All of this sounds right, I guess I should add i found crates that a person could fit in well. Is it possible more evidence are in the crates? Or maybe... Evidence is on the killer?"
(edited by Hana_Fujita)
"You know, there's something that's been tugging at my brain for a little while. I saw Tree enter the Storage Room a bit after the motive was announced. I didn't think anything of it at the time, but now that it turns out he's the 'Ultimate Terrorist'? I don't know about you guys, but... Things are starting to connect."
"Maybe so, but he didn't know his talent."
"So what? For all we know, it could be like second nature for him. Just like it's second nature for me to be great with machines. Just like it's second nature for Cards to be, ahem, 'lucky'."
"Oof, why are getting defensive all of the sudden? Something made you uneasy, huh?"
Oliver sighed and shook his head. "Tree looked shocked when he heard his talent. Which probably means, unless he was acting, he wouldn't even think of making a bomb unless he knew he could do it. Either that or there was an instruction manual but that also means he didn't know his talent.
"Well how about we ask the most likely suspect directly? So, Tree, Did you make that bomb or not?"
"If he was acting he would be the Ultimate Actor."
"I feel like giving you guys a hint! The only people that went into the Storage Room between the time the Motive was announced and the time the Body was discovered were Leo Orava, the Ultimate Fanfiction Writer, Elm Tully, the Ultimate Terrorist, and Setsuna Tamaki, the Ultimate Freerunner."
"Thanks, Monokuma, very cool."
Hmm. Then that only helps in my theory. She turns to Leo I'll like to hear your story, Mr. Fanfiction Writer.
"Okay, we have 3 suspects then.."
"Well if you going to ask us between a fanfiction writer, a free runner, and a terrorist, it's not going to go well" Oliver laughed
First, he's not a terrorist he's a cinnamon bun. And secondly we at the very least have some sort of alibi for Setsuna and My husbando. We really just need to question him. She sighed and looked over at them For now, anyway.
"Well that is one way to confess to someone you just met in 4 days."
"Yeah real bold of you" Oliver said scratching the back of his head. "So, let's refresh somethings right? What's Leo, Elm, and Setsuna's alibis again?"
(edited by Oliver_Romero)
“Two things to say. One, you’re asking what my alibi is but when are you referring to? Last night? This morning? 3 days ago? I have no idea. Two, how do we know the bomb was planted this morning? There’s no evidence that suggests the bomb was placed today, in fact, I don’t think anyone’s opened the fridge in 2 days, aside from the killer. Jin was hanging around the fridge for a while, and he deterred people from opening the fridge by claiming he ate the food. So, when was the bomb placed, if not this morning?”
Setsuna breathes out a sigh, sweeping some of her hair out of her face before she replies Alright alright, so we're taking it from the top again? Here's how my day went. First the day before the murder I got up at the sound of the awakening bell at 8 AM. Since there weren't too many others around I went ahead and got ready before heading down to the storage room around 9:00. While I was in there I saw a bunch of toys, sports gear, and these barrels of gunpowder. After... *gulp* Checking to see how the gunpowder tasted I grabbed a baseball bat to protect myself and a basketball to see if anyone was up for a game, this was around 9:30 AM. Since no one bit I went back to my room around 10:30 where I stayed the rest of the day, reorganizing my stuff and bouncing the ball off the wall. On the day of the murder I was once again woken by the morning bell, and this time decided I'd check out the library to see if it had anything cool. I remained there until the body was discovered at 12:30, at which point I went straight to the cafeteria. After that I tried to leave the... Mess behind me, and head back to my room, but Gazette pulled me over for questioning. I answered her stupid questions before heading back. Think that about covers it?
"Me? I've been working on something in classroom 2"
"What were you doing, Leo?"
"Writing..."
"So then Elm, I'm asking what you were doing between 9:00am yesterday to 12:30pm today." Oliver asked.
“I woke up a bit before 8, and went to the library. I was reading a book when monokuma announced that there was food. I was suspicious so I kept reading my book until I’m not sure when. Remember, there are no clocks anywhere so I can’t give you an accurate time. I think I was reading for a few hours before my curiosity got the best of me and I went to check out the fridge. Jin was there, and I read his note that said he ate the food. After that, I saw Geoff with his cooking stuff and started following him, leading to everything that happened with Hana, Jack and Leo. That’s everything I believe.” Elm stops for a minute. “Well what about you? What’s your alibi for the past day? I don’t think anyone has seen you for a while.”
Oliver was deep in thought before opening his mouth. "Ok it's like this: Setsuna was at the storage room at 9:00-9:30 am, then from 10:30 am for... "rest of the day" she was at her room yesterday. Today, she woke up at 8 am and went to the library till 12:30 pm when the body was discovered. Leo was working at classroom 2 from: ???, he was writing. Elm woke up around 8 am and read it book in his room until ???. He then went to the cafeteria at ??? and saw Jin and his note. Then he heard Geoff was making stew and followed him at ???, which lead him into Hana, Jack, and Leo's alibi. All this right? And as for me I was in my room moving as little as possible to conserve as much energy as I can"
"Okay, I'm gonna assume that Elm went out around 11AM to 12PM. While getting to the cafeteria would take like 2-3 minutes tops. I think I started to tell others around 8 or 9 PM."
"Hmmmm... I'm getting bored! Someone pull a huge twist or it's voting time!"
"All in all it's...." Oliver looked over to Leo "Really hard to find an alibi that doesn't hold water."
"Just writing is odd.. Like no bathroom breaks? No drinking water? Anything else then just writing?"
No bomb-making and arming breaks?
Looks simple to me Setsuna breathes out a sigh as she shrugs I doubt the nerd had any way to know how to make a bomb, at least I sure don't. Elm was confirmed to have been in first the storeroom, then the cafeteria, both after I was and before the body was discovered. Plus as the ultimate terrorist, he has knowledge. Therefore. Setsuna points her finger at Elm The killer is obvious.
"Set's right."
I don't want to hear who's the killer from a suspect. Gazette glares over at Setsuna Besides, aren't you overlooking some things? For one, how do you know there was not instructions planted there? Also I've been thinking of something for awhile now...
"N-no, that...that can't be right!! There is just no way! It's probably Leo or hell even Setsuna!!" (Hana slams the podium) "There is just no way!!!"
Setsuna glares back at Gazette, narrowing her eyes "You know what, lets humor you for a second. If there were instructions planted there, then how do you explain Elm being the ONLY one on the list of suspects who was CONFIRMED to have been first to the storage room, and then the cafeteria." Setsuna shrugs with a smug grin on her face "If you're going to try expanding the list by saying it was done in secret, then it could be anyone. Even you. Then suddenly we have no evidence at all."
"Upupupupupupupupu! It's time to vote!"
“Waitwsitwaitwait. I wasn’t in the storage room after you! I went in before you did!”
"Wha?! Now?! Not yet!!"
"Can we just get to the end with as little manslaughter as possible? I need a pack of smokes in exchange for my vote Bear, and the I'm going to bed."
(edited by Mitsuko_Fujioka)
"Hold on, Leo, what do you write?"
"Hmmmm, I changed my mind. There's one or two points that need to get a bit of spotlight... So keep debating for a while."
And Leo Gazette nods at Geoff and looks at Leo Can you show us it?
"Well, I left it back at the classroom, and if you let me go, I'll gladly show it to you," *Leo nods towards the door*
(edited by Leo_Orava)
"Well shit."
[Monokuma took out a piece of paper.] "It's riiiight there!"
"Could I see it?" Geoff would ask, reaching out a hand to be passed the paper.
impatient, Setsuna quietly drums her fingers against her podium oh wow, the writer wrote something what a surprise. Just read it already
[Monokuma folded it into a paper plane and then sent it to Geoff.] "It's a pretty good read!"
Geoff would unfold it, and read it over once, before reading it aloud to everyone
Leo immediately runs over to grab it, "Hey, that's personal!"
Geoff would reach up, jump back, and do whatever else trying to continue reading it aloud for everyone to hear.
(edited by dopl)
"Leo, what topic did you write? Smut? Or Killing? If not, then can you let us read it?"
(edited by Hana_Fujita)
Geoff (and everyone else) finds that, 1, it contains a description of Elm, 2 it contains some fan fic material involving Alice in Wonderland, and 3, the latest entry was from before the killing. *Leo's eyes hovered nervously around the room*
(edited by Leo_Orava)
Geoff read out entry about elm first to everyone, before reading out the third entry, not bothering anyone with the details of the alice in wonderland bits.
Hmmm. Interesting, I may need that first entry about Elm for...personal research. Gazette sighs and looks over at him Still, can we confirm that you wrote these and didn't have them planted?
"You wrote about Elm, why?"
"It's been a hobby of mine, honestly"
Setsuna shakes her head with a sigh I don't see what any of that garbage has to do with the trial. Its neither evidence for, nor against. And if he planted the thing, who cares? It still doesn't prove he had anything to do with the storeroom
"Alright I'm bored, voting time for real"
"Well, it looks like everyone's voted! Let's look at the results!" [A screen appeared behind Monokuma, showing that one of the two being accused had 7 votes while the other had 4.] "Hmmm... Well... I hate to say this, but..." [Everyone but Leo and Elm felt a chain grab them by the neck.] "That's the standard procedure! Better luck next time!" [All of them were pulled into openings in the wall, unable to see which of the remaining two was about to die...] ... [Or at least, in a parallel universe. You have another shot at this debate for a while, and then we'll vote again.]
"I'm thinking there has to be some piece of evidence we missed that would be the definitive proof of who did it. Anybody got anything?"
"Oi, don't look at me. I slept most of the investigation time, oversleeping comes from when some asshole bear decides to lock us in here and not let me have my GODDAMN SMOKES! Seriously, you want entertainment?! Gimme some smokes after this damn trial and maybe I can do more than sleep all day!"
Setsuna awkwardly drums her fingers on her podium before clearing her throat "Dude. I think you uh... Might have a problem"
"No such things allowed in a school environment! The ones of you that are supposed to stay alive are supposed to be healthy! Well, aside from the odd despair-induced disease, or the unstoppable blood-coughing fit, but thsoe are rare!"
"Wait, what?" Elm confusedly looks at Monokuma.
*Leo began writing physical descriptions of everyone*
"Okay, Is there a certain *something* we missed?"
(edited by Hana_Fujita)
"Like what?" Geoff would ask.
"You know, something leaked out of this trial.."
“Hold on a second... there was actually something I noticed earlier but I wasn’t sure if it was connected to the murder at all, however if we’re backed into a corner right now then maybe it’s just what we need to get us to the answer”
"What are you talking about?" Elm seems puzzled at Shoji's comment.
"Why wouldn't you bring something like that up sooner?" Geoff would ask. "Anything helps."
"C'mon, out with it!"
“I didn’t think it WOULD help, I just thought that it was unrelated... but if nothing else is working then this may be the key to the truth” “I saw a leak in the bathrooms earlier, it didn’t seem natural though. It looked like someone had tampered with the pipes at some point. I’m still not sure if it has anything to do with the case but if the pipes were messed with then it was most likely the killer who did it”
Elm thinks for a second. "But what would the killer need to tamper with the pipes for...?"
"I felt like we were missing something! But who messed with the pipes?"
"They must've had to in order to change water pressure or something...but to have that much knowledge on water pressure and pipes, isn't Jin starting to come back into the picture as a possible suspect? Elm and Leo aren't in the clear yet of course, but you'd have to have a fair amount of mechanical knowledge to do something like that."
"... A pipe bomb! That's it! The bomb in the fridge was a pipe bomb! Shoji, where is your room relative to everyone else?"
“My room is right in between your room and Elm’s room”
"A pipe bomb? Those are literally made with pipes? I thought that was just a namesake..."
(edited by ElmTully)
"Your room is right between mine and Elm's, you say? Well well, looks like the picture is getting even clearer."
"I understand you're accusing me again, Jin, but how do we know it isn't you? You are the ultimate mechanic, and you have the tools for the job. How do we know you didn't do something to your pipes to help the killer? And plus, even if I somehow knew everything the Ultimate Terrorist knew, how would that help me tamper with the pipes? That seems like something only the Ultimate Mechanic could do."
(edited by ElmTully)
"Why would I help the killer?"
Geoff would look between Elm and Jin repeatedly. "So...one of you guys is the killer more than likely." he would sigh.
"Even if you yourself aren't the killer, you've been doing pretty suspicious things the whole time. Why were you trying to deter people from opening the fridge? Unless you knew what was in it?"
(edited by ElmTully)
"More like, are you the killer?"
"I was just tryin' to fuck with people. Cuz it's fun."
"And? That's it? You were fucking with people while we were all on the verge of starvation? Not only does that seem highly unlikely, but even if you were doing it to fuck with people, you were indirectly killing them by preventing them from eating the food that was in there."
"Hey, at least I didn't kill someone by using the fact that they were starving to their advantage."
"Wait!" Geoff would say, "How could the murder weapon be a pipe bomb?" he would turn to monokuma, "Wouldn't fucking with the piping be damaging important school property?"
"Dude, if this was ten days of starvation you would've been brutally killed! "
"If it's for a murder, you can damage the school property... To an extent. Razing the whole school is forbidden, but tempering with a pipe? Nah."
"Why the fuck would you do that Jin? Thats completely disgusting, and to whoever the fuck the killer is, you disgust me beyond all bounds. You don't get to decide that someone has to die for your own selfish purposes."
"I did it because I was bored, you dumb, dumb bitch."
"Calm the fuck down man, Mitsuko didn't do anything. She's the one making a reasonable point!"
"...Why did you do it Jin? Why did you kill Nobidy?"
"Well asshole, how about you gain a fragment of a braincell and find some goddamn way to entertain yourself rather than stooping to hurting those around you for your entertainment? God fucking dammit"
"I didn't kill him. Why don't you ask Tree why he did it?" [Jin turned to Mitsuko] "And why don't you stop fucking screaming about your cigs and start contibuting something to society?"
(edited by Masato_Jin)
"What the fuck did you call Mitsuko?! The only bitch here is you, who decided to fuck with all of us! I won't be surprised that you killed Nobidy for your personal enjoyment!"
"And now I revisit the point. What if there were 2 killers? Jin didn't go into the storage room, that is confirmed, but he possibly knew about the bomb in the fridge, he knows how to build a bomb, and it also lines up for the piping. I believe Jin is working with someone."
"I wouldn't kill someone for my 'enjoyment'. Because this game is some prime enjoyment. And if I left it this early? I wouldn't enjoy it!"
Of course you’d know exactly who he’s working with wouldn’t you muster terrorist. Setsuna grins as she nods to Elm
“Well, wait a minute” Shoji looks over to Monokuma “If Elm is right and there are two killers, then what happens? Do they both get executed or is it only the person who does the actual killing?”
"I haven't been screaming about them for a while, which you would be able to observe if you weren't so dead set on fucking with everyone at a completely inappropriate time. And hey, at least my screaming can be ignored and won't hurt anyone, ckntrary to your stunt which (at least helped) set up a fucking murder."
"You son of a bitch! I swear to god after this... GOD!" ( Hana clinches her fist) "I swear to you you'll be beaten up, Jin! "
(edited by Hana_Fujita)
Elm turns to Setsuna. "And why would I work with Jin, of all people? I've hated his guts since day one. Even if we were working together on building a LEGO set, I wouldn't be able to stand him for one minute. It's fundamentally impossible for me to work with Jin."
(edited by ElmTully)
"And yea, fuckface bear, I was wondering that too."
"If there are two killers, the only the one that actually killed gets punished. The other one is treated as just any other student."
"But in this case, is the person who set the bomb the killer? Or who assembled the bomb?"
Agreed. I wouldn't let Jin anywhere near my husbando. She glares at him What kinda of leak was it? Like water or gas?
“Oh that answer’s easy. You wouldn’t. This whole ‘two killers thing’ is just a ruse you invented from day one to get us off your trail.”
"To answer Ultimate Terrorist's question, the one who set up the bomb."
"Hmmm... So therefore, someone who wasn't Jin could have set up the bomb, making it so they are technically the blackened, while Jin did mostly everything else."
"I didn't touch your stupid bomb, Tree."
Elm glares at Jin. "Shut the fuck up, asshole. If we get through this trial I'll make it so that you're the next victim."
"Sorry, Jin, seems like you aren't well liked. Therefore, not many people would believe you, asshole."
"Uh, the piping rules out everyone else right?" Geoff would ask.
"Oh, I'm gonna get through this trial. But you won't. Because you're the culprit."
"And, Elm, please don't."
Elm keeps glaring at Jin.
"Elm, please. I'm not a fan of him either, at all, but lets try to keep things civil. No one, not even this asshole, deserves to die at the hands of another."
Gazette also glares at Jin Where was this leak and what kind was it?
"Why are you looking at me? I ain't the asshole that tempered with the pipes."
Setsuna clears her throat before hitting the podium to get everyone’s attention The piping rules out everyone but Jin, Elm, and Geoff. I doubt Geoff would have revealed it if he were the killer, as it is the only reason to suspect him. Jin wasn’t on the list of people in the storage room. Technically it’s possible that Elm, Leo, or I got the stuff for him. But. Setsuna brings one finger into the air As you do thoughtfully mentioned, no one really likes him. Only the blackened gets away, so his associate would have no reason to not eat him out. Therefore. Setsuna points at Elm with a grin The only option is left brings us right back to you
"See? Set gets it."
"It..just...I won't believe it! I-I just can't! "
"Upupupu... It's time to vote! For real this time! No ammount of ungodly luck is gonna save you all!"
"I uh, I didn't bring up the pipes." Geoff would say to Setsuna, "Shoji did." Geoff would pause, looking at Elm. "Why would you do this?"
(edited by dopl)
"...."
"Also, why are you covering Jin's ass? You specifically stated you could be an accomplice, yet you're the only one sticking up for him. That seems suspicious to me. You also seem to really want me dead."
“The only person here I kinda like is Hana. I’m certainly not suicidal, so if I DID know anything about it, I’d eat him out right away. No more excuses Elm, it’s time to go.”
"I'm just......."
" Elm... You reminded of me of my little brother... I just can't... "
"Well, I guess we're dead then." Elm looks toward Monokuma.
Mitsuko sighed. "I still have no clue who it is. God help my deductive reasoning that never works where it counts."
Mitsuko, standing next to Hana, patted her back gently in support. "It'll be okay. You've gotta be strong though, okay? Otherwise we won't be able to get out of here."
"Gah.. I..."
hmmm Gazette glares at Hana slightly for talking to Elm, but then looks away. Why was there a leak? No way it was just an accident, considering that... wait... What was used to make the bomb?
"It's okay Hana, but if we don't work through this you'll never get to see your brother or other family again, right? So we gotta stay strong and get to the bottom of this so we can all get the hell out, okay?"
"Listen here, Miss Thirst-ass, there was a leak cuz someone took a pipe from their bathroom to make the bomb."
Oh, so you admit it? Who else will have the knowledge to know to use a pipe for a bomb?
Elm looks at Gaz. "Gunpowder, Nitroglycerin, a fuse, and a motion detector - and now a pipe, coming from Jin. At least those are what was missing from the storage room."
(edited by ElmTully)
Thank you, Elm. I think there is only one person with this knowledge. Makes out with Elm
(edited by Gazette_Luizen)
"Hana, everything will be okay, okay?" She said, in a way to support Hana but also herself. She quickly grabbed Hana's hand and held it in support. "Everything will be okay."
"Voting time is over! Thanks for your participation!" [A screen appeared behind Monokuma. On it, the heads of Elm, Jin, Leo and Setsuna appeared. A number appeared below everyone... With Elm being in the lead.] "Upupupu... HA HA HA HA HA HA! You got it right! The Culprit of this case was Elm Tully, the Ultimate Terrorist! Any last words?"
"Y-yeah..."
Mitsuko squeezed Hana's hand gently. "You okay?" She asked in a low voice.
"What...the f-fuck... I can't b-believe this..... I-i trusted you, Elm..!"
(edited by Hana_Fujita)
"Elm...Why?"
Gazette drops to her knees blank face It... can't be... true..
"Elm..." she said in a voice that contrasted her normal tone. "Why did you do it?" She moved closer to Hana, and moved her hand around Hana's shoulders to comfort her.
Figured. Elm, your such a bad liar. An expert at bluffing can see through ya easy enough. *Jack shrugs*
[Jin simply stared at the screen, silent, for a few moments.] "Damn, I know you guys don't like me, but... Eh, I guess this isn't really the time for jokes, is it?"
"Well... It was fun. I mean, it was pretty obvious, and I do feel bad for the people who believed in me. But I'm a terrorist. I never forgot, I just took an acting class a couple summers ago. Regardless of what the turnout was, I had a lot of fun. And I have you all to thank for that. I was on the run for 2 years before I got dragged in here. And by dragged, I mean I willingly joined. The Mastermind was very persuasive. Well, take me away Monokuma. Thanks again everybody." Elm turns around, facing everybody. Even facing imminent death, he has the widest grin on his face. Wider than any he's had before. He turns back around and screams at the top of his lungs: "It's showtime!"
"... did you plan for Nobidy to die or was that just by chance?" Oliver asked Elm.
"ELM! THE FUCK!"
"Let's give it everything we've got! Iiiiit's punishment time!" [A robotic arm grabbed Elm by the neck and pulled him into a hole in the wall. Then, the screen behind Monokuma flashed a new image, that of what seemed to be a title screen.] The Execution of Elm Tully, Ultimate Terrorist: 9 Outta 10+1 [Elm is tied up, on the top floor of a skyscraper. The sound of a jet engine is heard, and Elm can feel some rumbling. Then, a plane crashes right below the floor Elm is on, shattering the ground. As the building crumbles, Elm falls for multiple stories, before finally stopping in a thunderous thud. Then, the last thing he sees is a falling steel beam, which crushes him.]
YOU BASTARD Gazette rushes over to him, unclipping her pen and charging at him
Mitsuko let out a shaky breath and held Hanas shoulders tight. "Unfortunately, this is what has to happen. We cannot kill each other. It's not up to us to choose who lives and who dies, no matter what the circumstances or turnout...at least, that's what I believe."
"...." (Hana dropped down to her knees) "Is this..what...despair feels like..?"
[Monokuma drop-kicks Gazette to stop her]
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOo She looks up to see him being pulled away, a growing face of terror takes her body over as she watches him get executed. What... the...
*Jack smirks, holding back laughter.* Now that's explosive. Heh heh heh.
"Yeah, it's pretty funny."
Geoff just stood there starring in shock, unable to move or look away, despair clear on his face.
Mitsuko said nothing, but helped Hana to her feet. "...yes dear. This is despair. And at this moment...there's nothing we can do."
