Apparently she was talking to Akechi in the trailer and talking about the Phantom Thieves and how she doesn't support them and wants to investigate. So shes either a new confidant like Marie or theres a new dungeon where she becomes a new party member which seems unlikely. Another thing could be a whole other side story based on her with Akechi during the events on P5. If thats the case I wonder if she helped him get through the palaces like Kaneshiro's when he mentions seeing someone with a black mask. Either way we got to wait until next month for more details

Agreed, a side story with Akechi could help establish his character more while also delve deeper in his past and story. I wasn't a fan of Akechi's character too much, but if they did that I'd be happy. Just wondering how that girl plays into it, if she'll be the playable character with Akechi as partner or vice versa.

There is no such thing as me being dead, if Atlus really wanted to confirm it they had the anime to do so. Instead they made things even more uncertain by making Akechi's voice reach Joker like every other confidant right before the final boss.
