If so then only from a gardner's perspective would that work since a gardner would classify a tomato as a fruit and would most likely agree that tomatoes are easier to manage than pineapples. However, if from a culinary standpoint, then you'd be comparing a vegatable to a fruit since chef's classify tomatoes as vegetables because of their more savory flavor profile and comparing vegatables to fruit is just wack.
