I really am massively disappointed by the entire anime. This episode did not change that. Although I didn't watch Persona 5 The Animation yet but I viewed few seconds of random episodes, I agree with you, the game is masterpiece yet the same can't be said for the animation, the art is okay but rushed as it get bad during moving scenes or far away scenes. Dunno why they didn't invest more time and money on animation studio but most likely because the animation was just a "Promotional" plan to increase the game sales.

Dude, the all-out attack scene in the first episode is so poorly drawn, it looked like the work of a 9 year old.
