A (possibly) Nice Night in the Park
It's a quiet night, surprisingly relaxed for the usually chaotic place that we inhabit. A very nice night to go to some unnamed park to enjoy the scenery, maybe spot a few stars. Either way, come enjoy nature... Niko taps away on his phone while he relaxes on a bench, seems he didn't get the memo. Though maybe he just wanted to enjoy the fresh air for once, or maybe he just thought he'd be alone out here.
A highschool age girl with long black hair passes through the park, letting out a sigh as she types away on her phone. She knew she oughtn't have stayed out this late, but it was easy to lose track of time. Her father was likely already asleep, so for now it was up to her. The girl walks past Niko, her eyes moving up when she notices the other person seemingly alone. Though she was much the same, they didn't seem to be uneased by it. So, they approach Niko, walking up behind them before asking "Are you waiting for someone?"
Niko almost drops his phone when he hears the random person. "Wuh-?" He turns around and looks at the girl. Not the first time he's been randomly approached in the nexus, and it surely isn't the last. Though he's changed quite a bit from when he first arrived, so might as well just answer honestly. "Nope, not at all. Just came out here to think and brood, y'know?"
The man elusively known as Marcus would appear. His usual traveling close and his closed pocket mirror at his side connected to his body via chain. He seemed content simply wandering about but seeing people sparked his interest. He'd approach them regardless the implied social norms, as if completely uncaring for such things. "Yo, you guys got the time. Never been one to keep track of that and I have a hotel reservation to keep. They get testy sometimes, y'know?"
"I see." The girl takes a step back with a sigh, her face seemingly stuck in a frown as she looks at her phone once more before asking Niko "Hard time at home I take it? I.. Understand. Still, it can be rather dangerous this late at night. Do you need me to...." The girl is interrupted by Marcus, leading her to quickly turn to the newcomer. She was already on her mobile device so it was easy to answer "9:38 PM. If I were to guess you're probably late." The girl promptly replies before adding "It would seem I'm running late as well."
Walks in "Man, it sure is quiet... I wonder if I could call Chrom from anywhere. It would be terrible if some unforeseen threat were to attack and we were separated."
{Walks in from behind, looking at phone.} "According to my free app, it says that I have taking 6969 steps so far. Boy do I love being active while still looking at my phone...What time is it again? I forgot."
The man would laugh non-nonchalantly before answering. "Oh good, so it's not tomorrow yet? That's when I scheduled it. Wanted to spend as much time as possibly getting a lay of the land since I haven't been to this part of Tokyo yet." He'd take a moment to hold the pocket mirror in his hand, not opening it to reveal the reflective part but rather just flipping it in his hand for a moment. "I'm not used to Tokyo anyway in general but helps to slowly learn. Bit bigger then cities I usually stay in."
"Oh, I'm not having any troubles at home, I'm just-" He's also quickly interrupted by the arrival of Marcus. "Anyway, uh, you were saying, miss?"
The girl does a double-take, glancing back at the man with the mirror with a bewildered expression before returning to her usual calm frown. "Of course its not tomorrow yet. Otherwise it wouldn't be today." The girl's voice is as even and controlled as the rest of her demeanor, giving no indication of whether or not they were joking "Its true that Tokyo is one of the largest cities on Earth, it'd be good for you to have a friend with you, especially as a tourist. Otherwise you might get taken advantage of." The girl puts her phone away once more, clearing her throat as she tries to recapture her train of thought with Niko "Right.. It getting rather late so one probably doesn't wish to stay out too long. Otherwise you might run into trouble. If you'd like I could call for a cab for you to go home. Or recommend one of a few places nearby if you don't feel safe with that."
"I'm used to traveling alone, last thing I need is a guide. Guess you could say I'm my own guide. Both in my travels and in my life." The man would ponder for a moment at that thought. "Maybe you could say the world is my guide in a way too. I only care about what's beautiful, after all. Actually, you sure you kids are alright out here so late? Now that I take the time to look you guys seem to be a lot younger then me." Despite feigning worry Marcus actually wouldn't change from his carefree attitude as if he was asking more out of the need to keep up his adult like appearance rather than the desire to actually act like one.
Niko shakes his head. "Uh, actually I'm fine out here, I can protect myself, if that's what you're worried about. I mean, I'm not the most skilled but..." He tries his best to look confident. "I can totally deal damage if I really need to."
"Right." The girl casts a brief downward glance at the reminder that she was, indeed, supposed to be home by now, but her dismay is soon covered up once more. "I was invited to a party by some of my friends and we lost track of time so I was just on my way home. I'll likely be scolded for my carelessness but father knows I can take care of myself so I doubt he's worried." The girl checks her phone once more before setting it in her pocket, so as to not be distracted by it again as she addresses Niko "I wouldn't really worry about criminals, someone like you or me isn't really much of a target anyways. But if you plan to stay away from home for a while you'll need to be ready for when it gets cold. Or rains. As well as have a way to earn money, though I suppose one could also beg."
"Well, I was only asking because, you know, being responsible or some junk like that. I don't doubt people around here can handle themselves anyway. People around here seem a bit more unusual then those I met when traveling around Europe." The man would finally go back to his mirror, staring at it for another moment. "I'm not very competent myself, just lucky. Though I guess I can pull something off when pushed every now and again."

Niko sighs. "I already said I'm not out here because of home troubles, I'm just out here to think is all. I can get home just fine. Hell, I don't think it's possible for me to have home troubles, since I'm living on my own."
"No need to make excuses. You're entirely right after all." The girl solemnly shakes her head before letting out a sigh and closing her eyes. "I simply hadn't expected to be lectured twice in one night is all. Really as long as you're careful there's not much to be afraid of." The girl maintains her even tone and opens her eyes once more. However this time she doesn't really have much to add "I suppose I ought to apologize for coming off as overbearing then, you've probably received a lot of speeches like this. Its a bit of a bad habit I developed over the years."
A young woman with green eyes and brown hair would snicker a bit after overhearing part of that little chat, she was merely quietly walking through the park dressed in a pair of jeans and a t-shirt with obviously fake blood stains. But after that little speech she'd interject in a snarky tone while twirling her hair. "So, do you always just walk up to random people and question their life choices lady? Or is it only on specific days, is this 'ask something personal at random day' and I just hadn't heard!?" Her tone and wry smirk say it all while absently waving to the pair, and Marcus as well. Though hell if she really knows what to talk about besides making fun of that girl. "Anyway sup how's it going, busier than I expected given it's a park in the dead of night. What's up with that?" She'd query in a casual voice, not really able to come up with a specific topic so might as well try and make small talk.
OOC: Sincerest apologies, it appears I fell asleep. I sincerely hope you weren't awaiting my return. IC: "Lady? Are you referring to me?" The highschool girl turns to look at the newcomer with a sigh. "I was merely expressing concern for one of my peers, the same as one would for any of their friends. You do have friends right?" much as before, its difficult to tell whether they intend the question as a joke, seeing as their serious expression has hardly changed since they first arrived, continuing to look intently at the newcomer "It really wasn't anything you needed to get involved in, if that's how you felt."
While Niko liked watching fights ever now and again, something within him just compelled him to try to defuse it at least a little bit. "H-hey, let's not escalate things, okay? I mean, I'm going to assume both of you had no plan to but, hey, just in-case y'know?" He scratches the back of his head as he replies to the newcomer. "Well, I came out here to think about all kinds of philosophical things and such, and also for the fresh air. Plus there was just... Something in me telling me to do it, I guess?"
"Whatever works for you best, kid. Nothing more beautiful in life than following your own instincts. Just make sure not to do anything I wouldn't do. Things get pretty messy when people bit off more than they can chew, get me?" Marcus seemed to chuckle a bit at his own sentiment. The man didn't even seem to acknowledge any kind of feud, perhaps out of disdain or simply because he didn't feel like even trying to calm things down.
Akia shrugs and waves it off, clearly more amused by the reaction than anything else. "Hahaha, oh don't worry kid I'm not about to bust out my Epithet on some random girl. That'd be a pretty stupid move for one, showing your powers off in front of people for no reason." She'd snicker at that thought, who just walks around using their superpowers casually like that? Idiots mostly in her experience. "Anyway relax girl, I was just messing around. As for you kitty, sounds heavy to me. Maybe it's some weird thing going on. And hah, biting off more than ya can chew huh? Yeah I'd know about that kind of mess." She speaks rather quickly, it's all easy to understand but there's a clear rush in both her words and the gestures she makes while going on.
“I wasn’t starting anything.” The girl almost immediately snaps back “All I did was explain myself to my elder, as asked. There’s no issue.” Though her response was swift, the girl’s expression and tone remain constant, giving little indication how they feel. “That’s certainly a strange reason to come all the way out here. Still, it’s good to follow your feelings. Maybe there’s a reason for it.” Finally, the girl breathes out a sigh before looking to the older woman “I am relaxed. Though I have been told I seem a bit uptight, so I understand the confusion.”
OOC: Sadly I have to get to work now. She just smiles and absently starts trying to climb a tree while replying to the younger girl. "Pff, alright then I guess that's fair. Maybe I'm just too laid-back? Oh and the name's Akia! I was sorta wondering if any of you all could answer a question of mine, what's up with this city? I definitely don't remember coming to Tokyo recently and yet here I am!" She doesn't really seem... Distressed or bothered by ending up somewhere at seemingly random for no reason, one might compare her to a careless kid if not for the obviously sharp eyes and aura of general experience she seems to possess. More like someone resigned to madness happening than merely foolhardy. "Was sorta curious if that tends to happen to people a lot here, just showing up with no rhyme or reason."
"You're definitely too laid-back." The girl agrees with Akia, though the older woman's introduction reminds her of another thing. The girl stiffens up a little, before apologizing "Right, I'm sorry, I ought to have introduced myself earlier. My name is Sen Megumiba, I'm a first-year in high school and the daughter of a prosecutor in town here." Sen briefly bows in introduction before looking back at Akia with a bewildered expression "Far too relaxed indeed. People don't just appear out of thin air, you must have simply forgotton how you got here. Which is rather unfortunate if you had something important to do."
The woman would burst out laughing loudly upon hearing Sen say that people don't appear out of thin air, a rather unfortunate event given she's by now perched herself upon a branch and in her distraction ends up plummetting like a stone through the air. "Pffff! People don't appear out of thin air? What kinda boring world do you live in Mundie? Next you're gonna tell me people aren't randomly born with superpowers or something!" Catlike reflexes send her back onto her feet in very short order, and Akia just shrugs a little bit while going onward. "Anyway, nice meeting you I guess Sen. As for me having anything important to do, unlikely. I'm just your average Inscribed drifter is all so chances are even if you were right, I just wandered in. Nothing to be stressed out about!" She'd proclaim that cheerily, clearly believing her own words... And once again starting to climb a tree while looking down at Sen.
Niko pipes up. "Actually, the first day I came here I... Sorta just appeared here as well. One moment I was walking to a convenience store and then the next thing I know, boom, I'm in Shibuya." He shrugs. "Well, I mean, if you couldn't already tell, I'm not from around here. My name's Niko... Niko Lucis."

“Oh, are you alright?” Sen first moves to ensure the safety of her new... Associate, but seeing the other girl practically bounce back alleviates her fears. “You... definitely seem like the type. I suppose it’s probably nothing to worry about then.” Sen chuckles a little as she looks back at Niko. Two very similar stories it seems, the girl couldn’t help but wonder at the coincidence as she crosses her arms “It appears getting lost has become somewhat of an epidemic. Still, I’d be glad to show you around town while you’re here. I know a few good ramen shops.” When Sen looks back Akira is already climbing another tree. The older woman actually somewhat reminds her of a friend she made a while back, “Are you sure you should be climbing again? You fell mere moments ago.”
Niko smiles. "I don't need to be shown around or anything, I already know quite a bit of Japan by now, mainly since it's been months since I first appeared in this strange multiversal blend of people." Although, he does think about one thing... "Though, I would like to know about the ramen shops. I love ramen."
Akia shoots Niko a thumbs up while absently hopping higher, by the time she sits down the woman's about 20 feet above the ground. "Heck yeah Niko! Embrace the supernatural madness, that's just life sometimes." Akia then just laughs, smiling brightly and slamming her fists together with a a great deal of pride. "Haha, don't worry about that I take way worse hits all the time. I remember this one dude, his Epithet was... Strength I think? Bastard hit like a truck, because he hit me with one!" The tone of her voice is one that's looking back on fond memories of some childhood passtime, rather than the attempted murderer surviving it was. "A little fall definitely can't do me in, so don't worry! Also ramen sounds great I love that stuff!"
"Well then, we can all meet up for Ramen sometime." Sen remarks with a grin, bringing out her phone for the moment "Most of them are closed now, but if we exchange info we can meet up at one after school sometime. Sound alright?" Sen looks up at Niko, ready enter their contact information in, they can contact people they know less after all. As for Akia... They're starting to sound almost worryingly like someone she knows. Definitely inappropriate for their age. Sen silently swears to remember their name "Just because you're tough is no reason to put yourself in danger." The girl sighs and shakes her head once more "still, I suppose I shouldn't lecture you. Do you have a phone too? It'll be easiest for us to meet up that way."
Niko nods happily. "Yeah, that sounds good to me!" He gives Sen his contact info. He's always wanted to try genuine ramen but he never really thought about ramen since... All of the crazy stuff that happens in the nexus.
She'd laugh and climb down again without skipping a beat. Arms gracefully gripping onto braches along the way before she carefully lands with a slight bow. "Hah, lecture me if ya feel like it honestly I'm used to hearing that kinda stuff. As for a phone, I do but it probably shouldn't be working!" Akia reaches into her pocket and pulls out some off brand smartphone... Which causes her to stare like gazing upon a dead person walking for a few seconds before speaking up in a slightly confused voice. "Uh... Okay well it is working, that's a thing. Wild considering I'm sure I don't get service here but whatever. OOC: I'm not coming up with an actual number but pretend I did. Oh and also, either of you know where I might find someone willing to fight? Preferably who has some kinda superpowers." She'd ask like that's the most casual thing in the world, despite the obvious strangeness of such a question. Akia finds it perfectly sane and reasonable while grinning at then cheekily.
Sen makes sure to add both Niko and Akia's numbers to her phone before checking the time and putting her device away once more. Of course, Akia manages to casually add something at the end that causes Sen to simply give her a blank stare. As if she couldn't believe anyone would say that out loud. "Right... Anyways, I'm already running late so I'll head home. I'll be sure to add you two to a group message and we can see about meeting up. Tomorrow maybe? My schedule's.. Actually pretty clear."
A place where people are willing to fight... Oh, Niko knows somewhere exactly like that! "Oh, yeah, there's this place called GYM, it's basically where all kinds of people fight each other for the fun of it. Pretty sure a lot of the visitors have supernatural abilities of some sort." He looks at the time. "Oh, I should also head home too. Gotta study up on stuff to make entrance into Japan's high school system just a little easier when I get to that age. It was nice to meet you all, see you guys tomorrow, hopefully." He begins his walk home, turning on some music on the way... "Everyone it seems Has somewhere to go And the faster the world spins The shorter the lights will glow And I’m swimming in the night Chasing down the moon The deeper in the water The more I long for you" ...Everything is going to go like clockwork...
"excellent. I'll be sure to contact you again soon." Sen nods to Niko and her other new... Companion? Associate, she supposes. There's no other word for it. With everything else done, Sen continues on her way home, as she had always intended. Her father would probably be resting by now, still she didn't look forward to the inevitable conversation she'd have about coming back so late. But in the end that was to be the least of their worries.
