[WORLD OF HORROR] [ACT 1] [THE ALARMING ACCOUNT OF ABNORMAL ARMS]
In a dark room, a figure boots up an old computer screen, it's bulky and unwieldy, still, the screen flickers to life. Buttons are pressed as a floppy disk is inserted and a world opens up. [WORLD OF HORROR [TOWN OF 000, JAPAN 198X] You are a normal 000 arriving in 000 Town. Perhaps drawn in by mysterious happenings, or returning to your home town. Regardless... Rumors of robed figures disappearing into the woods, people mysteriously vanishing, monstrosities lying just under the surface of the sea. Something is drawing you to this town. In a location in this town, a group gathers, placing a large mirror within a pentagram inscribed on the floor. The Old gods are attempting to break the thin barrier that exists between our world and theirs. Gozo, the thing forsaken by God, has awoken. ... The train arrives at its final stop. And you step off. It is up to you to delay the inevitable and seal away the Old God once again. Save the doomed town. small OOC blurb. Enter with any character. Note that this will be a multi part adventure appearing whenever I have time. (Haha) It'll mostly stay open, there is an emphasis on powerless characters. Feel free to be proficient in skills, but no inate magics or what not. Also note a separate canon. Feel free to include a small backstory as well. Be a student, adult, whatever floats your boat. But be aware. There are things in mirrors that you don't want to see. P.S. 000 means a blank/Redacted
Tadashi Yagami, age 27. Just your average detective, that's all he is... At least in theory, the truth of it is he's come into this place chasing after rumors upon rumors of strange goings on. Things that don't sound possible by most standards, but he knows they could be true. He knows there's far far too much which could be true in this madhouse of a world. The man steps off the train with a sigh, he knows cults in general, but without a specific name of these jackasses, there's no telling what they may be up to... "I get the feeling it's going to be a long day, long week even. Oh well, nothing to do for now except figure out what I'm dealing with on this case." He's dressed in a simple outfit, black slacks, a grey t-shirt, and a long thick leather jacket that's concealing a bullet-resistant vest under it. Carrying around a gun would draw far too many questions, but he does have a heavy wooden staff in hand which he plays off as merely a sign of being what some might call eccentric. It is of course for bashing people over the head but still well within the legal carrying range. He'd just observe the train station for a moment after stepping out, both wondering if anyone seems intent upon keeping an eye for newcomers and if there might be others arriving into the town who seem... As out of place as himself.
A young man would step off the train, seeming to be around college age. This town...it was where his grandparents once lived and he was staying there for the summer so he could have a quiet place to focus on his work. He was aware of the rumors but such things didn't really bother him. It wasn't that he didn't believe they could be true but as a pioneer of VR programs he had seen equally as weird results form from his own experiments. A quiet getaway was worth it anyway.
As the two steps off the train, they may notice a distinct lack of people, come off the train, and a large amount of people go on. It seems that these would be the wiser folk, leaving while they still can. Otherwise, he may notice a news broadcast on a nearby radio or a number of pamphlets line the wall, maps, regional information, and tourist attractions. The tourist attractions seem particularly untouched as dust covers them completely
The latest to step from the train is a high-school aged girl dressed largely in black leather. Unlike the others it seems, the girl had known these streets all her lives. She'd gained a bit of a reputation as a rough one, in part due to her involvement in the game scene. Still, she took care of her own. And one of her guys had gone missing. It wasn't unusual for someone to get injured after picking a fight, there'd even been a few deaths in the past, but it was rare. And none were nearly as sudden. That's what leads to the girl's irritated demeanor, tapping her foot impatiently as she simply can't wait to get started
Atsuro Kihara, the high school student with a handbag containing his laptop strapped around his shoulder, steps off the train. He walks a few steps forward before looking at the ground, sullen. "Heh, what am I doing here all by myself? I should've asked Kazuya or Yoohoo to come with me." He then tilts his head up, looking for a bench to sit at which he would go to if there was.
Alex walked in casually at the station, secretly thinking to himself Work alert, damn. Some quasit spots some rival activity and I'm the only guy around. Alex would have whined, if it were not as serious as it was. Hidden under his robe, he had a pistol, the one thing he had with him. "Who are you." The fourteen-year-old kid in the black robes said to the sullen teenager with the bag. Got it!

Er, gonna have to ask you to forgo your equipment Alex. I'm alright with a pistol if you can justify it, but I can't allow you to start with magic and special items. This is separate from other canon/timeline at the moment. More investigators step off. More food for the 000. They may notice a duo of school girls chatting about local gossip and horror stories in a corner, or a policeman with his cap covering his eyes as he moves a suspicious package
Mino would walk over to the older looking detective since they seemed to be the only adult here. "Hey, you know what direction 000 street is? I haven't been here since I was a kid and kind of seems like there's no locals nearby. Any clues?" The young man wouldn't show much besides a sense of nervousness but those feelings were mostly directed at the others present, as if they were foreign entities to the introvert who just wanted to get back to work.
Tadashi would sigh a little bit while glancing at the cop, he's picked up a talent for following without being too obvious about it over the years. For now, he tries to do just that, wanting to figure out what this cop may be moving around before he attempts confronting the man. Bothering the police openly seldom goes well for a PI, but only time will tell if there's enough of a crowd or cover to let him either blend in effectively or just stay out of sight while observing from the shadows. Upon hearing the young man speak to him though, Tadashi would smile a bit and shake his head slightly. "I can't say that I do in this case, no. I'm pretty new in town, just came here trying to get away from the bustle of the big city and all you know? Gimme a few days and I should have the layout down, but not yet."

"Hey, you awake?" Alex pestered Atsuro some more, looking for a reaction, but if that never came (say in five minutes or so), He'd walk absentmindedly over to the two girls, eavesdropping while looking like he was doing something important.
Tadashi follows the policeman rather easily, while the crowd is thin, the policeman doesn't seem very perceptive of his surroundings in the first place, if Tadashi continues to follow, he would see the policeman take the box out of the train station and into the nearby woods, placing the box down before digging into the dirt with his hands The girls mostly talk about nothing. Test marks, boys and the latest beauty products, however a few things are more interesting then the rest, such as a story about a pervert peeping on people in the vents of a local apartment building.
Atsuro would ignore the boy pestering the him the first time. When asked again, he asks the boy, with a slightly confused and skeptical tone, "You need something?" He would attempt to avoid eye contact, instead looking at whatever maps would decorate the wall.
"You live around here?" Alex asked, he didn't know about this place at all, and someone had to know. Those girls were a dead line, so he had to follow a new one, with this skeptical fellow he was talking to. He really hadn't much to say, but he was sure that he wanted a partner of some sort, needed even, so he was to try softening his approach.

He'd wave goodbye to Mino, or try to. Not like he's gonna stop the guy from following via force but... "Anyway, I gotta take a look into something. Might see you around again. And the name's Tadashi Yagami, nice meeting you, I suppose." The detective does indeed keep following, it's what he does best after all. He'd aim to get close to the cop before speaking up, close enough that if they try to draw a gun he can just hit the fellow before it becomes an issue. With that hopefully done, his aim would be to speak up in a cheery tone while smiling brightly. "Good evening office, mind if I inquire as to why exactly you just dumped some strange package out in the middle of the woods? Now if I had to take a guess, I'd say you wanted that hidden for some reason but... Why?" He gives the other man a pointed look, absently gripping his staff just a bit tighter and hoping to get something of a useful answer from this. Of course if they move to attack, he's willing to hit back, especially out here in the middle of the woods with them alone.
The maps show key locations scattered throughout the city and other locations nearby. Such sights would include a school, downtown district, hospital, beach, distant village and finally a light house. Thrhe map only gives the locations and not any information, more could be found on the specific pamphlets on the specific locations. The police officer seems to ignore Tadashi as he continues to dig at an abnormal pace, his fingers bleeding into the earth as he scratches away at rock, only when he had dug a big enough hole for the box and dropping it inside does he turn to Tadashi. His eyes without pupils. Instead Tadashi would see himself, a reflection of the world. The police officer would then drop to the floor, as blood gushes from his fingers, as the hole he dug is filled with his own blood,
Mino wasn't sure where else to go. He wasn't sure where Tadashi was going but it was probably better than just remaining in place. He'd hesitate for a moment before beginning to follow the detective albeit at a distance. "I...uh..." No good, he had no idea what to say or even if he should say anything. His specialty was the virtual world not the real world.
Atsuro would briefly glance at the kid, "I'm afraid not, just visiting, is that all?" He would then turn away, taking a few steps away from the boy, keeping him in the corner of his eye so as to seem like he was looking completely away
"Well, uh, I'm following you then." Alex accentuated that last word with a snap turning to point at Atsuro. He pressed on with that notion of following, adding, "We can't stay here, can we?" Alex did his best to push through the barriers and try to make some sort of rapport with this tired seeming highschooler and finally admitted, "I'm Alex. You?"

Tadashi's eyes go wide, he's seen people do some strange shit before but this... This is obviously not the work of a man's own free will at all, and he doesn't have the medical knowhow to save this guy. Mayb delay it though, but is it worth it trying...? And then there's the box, the very obviously dangerous box that he'd eye while speaking out to Mino a bit. "So you saw that too then? No sense trying to convince you everything is fine and normal, it isn't. I'm here in truth, to try and solve that. But who knows if I can figure it out before things go sideways beyond repair... Now, I feel like we should try to do something about that box. But also, if anyone sees us here they might think we killed this cop..." He doesn't speak on seeing that strange reflection in the man's eyes, no sense in speaking on more occult bullshit than needs to be said at the moment. "Truth is we're not in a great spot right now, but my gut says leaving that box where anyone could find it is a bad play... Or it would be if I could store it anywere safe, nowhere to do that for now so let's go." He can't aford to stick in this area long, and lugging away a box would be rather suspect. Plus keeping the thing in a cheap motel room that he'll be renting just isn't secure enough to be of use. Tadashi needs allies here, other hunters like himself hopefully. Right now, he just wants to try and avoid being a murder suspect.
As the policeman continues to bleed, the box begins to get soaked in the blood, better make a decision fast. The policeman's arms also begin to twitch oddly, might just be your imagination but do they seem... Longer?
Atsuro shakes his head, avoiding staring at the stranger and crossing his arms. "Bit straightforward, don't you think? Thing is, you're a complete stranger. Following me around for no reason is just too creepy. Goodbye." Without saying another word, Atsuro walks away and heads out the train station.
As Atsuro leaves the train station, he would happen upon a road with a small playground next to it. In the playground a small girl with a backpack would be sitting on a set of swings, crying to herself. There are no other people around.
]Well, that was a waste. I'm leaving, anyways. He had exhausted all the possible things he could do here, and so, he headed into the woods, looking for what to do next. He had nothing to say either, and so, like the quixotic person he was, he left.
(edited by Alex_The_Returned)
Atsuro would look around, concerned. Once he saw that no one was around, he approached the girl, speaking with a panicked tone. "Hey, kid, what's wrong? Where are your parents?"
"My grandparents...they own a house here. If we could find it then we could go there...but I'm not sure if I remember where it is..." Mino wasn't sure what they could do about the bleeding man. He'd begin feeling a little spooked by the twitching body. His grandparents house...it was definitely further down the street, right? Yeah...but there was a turn somewhere. If he could find the street finding it would be easy but he had never payed that much attention to it as a kid.
As alex walks to the woods, he happens upon two people and the corpse of a policeman covered in blood. His arms twitching and writhing, something isn't right. The child responds to Atsuro through tears as she attempts to wipe them away with her hand I... I don't know... I don't know mister.. As she cries a tag shines on her backpack from the sunlight detailing the address of a an apartment building.
Atsuro would try to soothe the child, gently stroking the air in front of him. "Hey, calm down, kid, I can help you." He notices the tag and points at it. "There's an address on your backpack, is that where you live? Would you like me to take you there?"
"Whar the hell?!" Alex reaches for his gun, a bit panicked, but doesn't draw it. "What happened here?" Then Alex, who knew his tropes well, walked over to the policeman and shot him in the head, for good measure.
The child calms down a little, nodding as she gets up from the swing Sure mister.. I don't know roads or how to read so I'm a little lost.. Um.. You aren't one of those monsters I've been hearing about are you?
Atsuro looks confused for a moment "Monsters? You have some imagination, kid. My name's Atsuro. Let me just look up that address real quick." He's pulls his laptop out and holds it with one hand, using the other to search the address on google maps.
The shot rings out from the forest, a spray of blood flies from the policeman. Dead. For good. However, the man arms keep growing. And growing. And growing. A meter longer then what they should be. It doesn't end. heyo, small narrator note. I gotta run to play in a league tournament right now. So uh, same time tommorow if I don't sleep in!
The Horror time approaches
