First off, throw the ender eye I think (it was either that or the thing it turns into to when you combine it with that blaze rod thingies. I don't remember names well but I know what I'm talking about) and follow where it goes. Then keep throwing them until they land somewhere, once it lands, dig there until you find an underground area. Sometimes there's a mine in the area, sometimes not. Then look around until you find several end portals. Some will have ender eyes on them, others won't. Put ender eyes on the ones without. The portal will then open, then hop on in. I hope this helps. But from my experience, you can commonly find the area by villages.
