What is the best mainline SMT game to start with?
I heard about Shin megami tensei after I played persona 5 and I was wondering what mainline game should I start, any suggestions?

That threads locked due to inactivity This ones not And by the way I recommend "If..." it's one of the easiest mainline titles Or "nocturne" the most popular All the smt games before Persona 1 and Jack bros. (if you count that) are untranslated and will require you an emulator

"Easiest" they say. Anyway, 4. Original SMT 4. Or Strange Journey. Both are available on the 3DS E shop and Strange Journey is avalible for a DS emulator if you're really that much of a cheapskate.

As the second Dx2 stan on the site, I'm legally obligated to say Dx2. All jokes aside 3 or 4 seems to be the general go-to answer. I personally haven't played any mainline, only Devil Survivor (which is also a decent game to ease into if you're the kind that likes SRPGs). I just realized that this is a week old thread but hey, no sense in deleting what I've typed.
