Kabukicho -Shinjuku's Sleepless Town-
Shining red lights appear as the night falls. Neon signs with flashy logos and letters indicate open business, all day, and now all night. The streets were packed with men and women; the cars could barely get a chance to pass through if they even dared doing so. Bars, hostess and host clubs, restaurants and more made it the perfect target for adults; kids or young teenagers had nothing to be doing in this wild district. Despite this, the young girl is aimlessly walking around the streets of Kabukicho, alone in a red-light district in the which anyone could jump her and force her into "videos" through debts and force. In the same way, others may be called into this town because they feel lost or want to become lost. Because they are looking for a drink, or fun in the warmth of another, in a love hotel, or picking a fight with a random thug by walking into some shady alleyway. ooc: This is just for fun, you can join and leave at your leisure and do as you like
A cat lazily lays on the edge of some steps of one of the establishments. This nightlife isn’t his usual pace but it’s an interesting side of human life. His icy blue eyes follow the girl passing by. Quite young to be here, eh? It would be bad to not keep an eye out while she’s around. He yawns and sits up, curling his tail around his paws.
She was careful to avoid most people with the worry they may be drunk and will decide to fight or get too touchy. She was looking for something and she wasn’t quite sure as to how to find it. "Hmm?" Walking by the dozens of people, her attention is taken by the one cat that was staring at her. Without any fear, she jumps at it with a giant smile on her face, wishing to pet it. "Hey kitty kitty! What are you doing out here so late in the night?"
“Mrra?” The cat is taken by surprise, but... this feels nice. He’s not one to refuse the attention of a lady anyway. He walks back and forth so she can easily pet all along his back. Were she a Persona user, she’d be able to understand his meows as asking who she is and what she’s doing here, but it’s fine if she can only hear cute cat sounds. He likes this attention.
"Nyoho~? Are you trying to tell me something little one~?" Not understanding at all what the cat is telling her, she keeps scratching and petting him. In the end, having a companion in the middle of the night may be for the best when yakuza are just around the corner if one is not careful enough. "Do you have an owner?"
Further petting reveals a collar under the cat’s yellow scarf. Its tag has a stylish V on the front and the name “Morgana” written on the back. No address is given. Morgana meows and nuzzles the girl’s hand. He’s pretty friendly and looks well-fed, so he’s probably not a stray.
"Morgana...? Isn't that a girl's name? Doesn't matter, you're still a cuteeeee little guy." Realizing she had been too lost in her own love for cats, she stands up and looks around. "I'm looking for any type of manager around this town. Does your owner... own any of the establishments here or any at all?" She stands right there in silence with a big smile on her face, as if the cat would speak to her at all. "Right, you guys don't speak japanese. My mistake!"
The cat lets out a trill that might be described as amused. He stretches and decides to just trail behind the girl. There’s no establishments in sight that match the logo on his collar, so perhaps he’s just taking a stroll too. Oh well. He’ll be tagging along since this is no place for a lovely lady like her.
"Hmm~? You want to come with me then? I won't go too far, so tag along!" At the very least, she hopes she won't. Chances of running into trouble are high. "By the way, if anything happens... just run for it, okay? I hate to admit that I'm a bit nervous coming here, heh~" Truth be told, she knows the best entertainment is in Kabukicho, and there is no better place to learn about how to run a business that can go on for days and nights without end. But because of this and all the pleasures, peace comes at a price. She keeps walking, wanting to see how Morgana will react.
“Mrraw.” Morgana holds his head up proudly and pads alongside this lovely lady. Though his steps are carefree, his ears are on the alert for the sound of trouble. He hopes they’ll just get... catcalls at worst. He curses himself for that horrible pun. ooc: gonna commit sleep, if anyone else shows up for this thread our lil kitty will be tagging along idly
"I saw your name, it's only fair I should do the same, right?" She giggles. "You can call me Amy. It sounds just like my real name! Amachi, Eimi Amachi~!" She keeps laughing to herself up until the moment she remembers Morgana can't call her anything other than variations of "meow". Shrugging and going along the way, she stops to look at a single bar, now open. She wonders what to do now, if they will find anyone inside or if she should go in. "I don't have the drinking age but... just talking should be enough, right?" She looks at the her cat companion.
“Meow...” Morgana swivels his ears to the sides of his head. The smell of alcohol is potent to him even out here but there’s nothing stopping Amy, so he’ll come along anyway. It should be fine if she doesn’t drink anything, right? He waits by the door for her to open it.
"Morgana, say meow if yes, or nya if no." She crosses her arms, staring at the door into the bar at the same time she makes the strange distinction of sounds. "Do you...fight other cats frequently? Can you defend yourself?"
“Meow.” Morgana briefly questions what he just said since those sounds are basically the same thing. Then again, this girl’s talking to a cat, so...
"Was that a yes or a no? Now I'm not even sure!" She laughs loudly at her own lack of thought as she pushes the door open and heads into the bar, giving time to Morgana to step inside too. The place itself was small. There’s a trio of small tables with a pair of couches each by the walls, and the bar counter on the opposite ends. The selection of drinks is massive, and the bottles had all these varying shapes and labels. "This looks fancier than I thought it would be, but not by that much." A group of men wearing showy suits enjoy their drinks in their own corner as the bartender keeps looking at the girl and cat that just arrived. He asks what is up with them, so late at night. "No, no! I'm just... looking around is all!" She says loudly, getting the attention of the other men for a moment before they start whispering. She sits by the counter with both legs tightly closed and looking down. "This is intimidating...~" She mutters.
Morgana leaps onto a chair beside her and sits down. Well, they’re here, for better or for worse. This girl’s just looking for a manager right? A place like this feels a bit off but it might have decent advice. “Mrra.” He gives Amy a look that says “pull yourself together!” then keeps watch for any trouble. He can hear confused whispers at worst so that’s comforting... for now.
Amy turns to look at Morgana and manages to tell what the cat is trying to tell her after thinking about it. "You're right. Thank you, Morgana!" She looks up at the bar tender and raises her hand, catching the man's attention right away. He asks what's up and if she's even of age to drink. "I'm an adult! But I-uh... I wanted to ask you about running this place. I-I'll be a manager one day and uh..." Amy continues to explain her situation to the bartender as he chooses to pay attention. It's more interesting than the drunk thugs on the other table. Amy reveals she's the heir to an inn that belongs to her family in the outskirts of Tokyo and decided to take a year before entering university in order to gain experience and knowledge from all over the city to better understand what it means to be a manager, as a way to motivate herself. The thugs, noticing Amy had gotten distracted, keep looking at her with their scowls as they talk to each other. Their words are clear, they intend to talk to her and get on her good side long enough.
Morgana quickly loses interest once he’s got the gist of her story and instead watches the thugs over at that table. He sits with his paws under his belly. This is the perfect position to get into a pounce if he needs to. His glare is less fierce than he thinks it is since he looks like a cat loaf right now.
The men are a group of four; their flashy suits make it clear they are anything but salarymen with their accessories and tattoos. They remain silent, nodding before three of them leave through the door and the last one sits right next to Amy. "Hey, boss. Can you put it in our tab?" he says as he keeps staring at Amy. The bartender agrees as he leaves for a moment with guilt in his eyes. "May I help you?" The man smirks as he gets closer "You lost, little lady?". Amy shakes her head awkwardly. "Then why don't you come with me and have some fun? Night's still young, all the best hotels are open." Amy shakes her head again and freezes as soon as the man puts a hand on her shoulder. "Please..." The man keeps insisting.
Morgana wiggles his body into a hunter’s crouch and his fur rises. This guy just oozes “yakuza.” First step to this issue is getting Amy out of this place. With a powerful leap, Morgana sails towards the man’s face, claws extended to add some lovely red marks to this jerk’s tattoos. He’ll latch on in a hissing and yowling fury.
A hooded figure enters the bar, ignoring the scuffle. He sits roughly two stools away from the action as he waits to be served. He drops a briefcase beside his seat with a loud thud. He fiddles with something in his robes, but makes no effort to stop the burly man and his advances nor the cat's offensive. He is simply an unwilling bystander.
"Aah! Morgana!" The yakuza attempts to break free from the cat's sudden attack and his screaming is muffled. Amy snaps out of it too, jumping out of her chair as she catches the bartender just standing outside, doing nothing, seemingly used to this situation. "M-Maybe Kabukicho is not such a nice place to come see this late at night, ha~!" She was trembling but still went to get Morgana on her arms as she runs away. The yakuza man holds his face in pain as he soon too starts chasing after the pair. "Morgana why did you do that!? Actually, thank you for that but still! He's going to kill us now!" She had a few conflicting emotions on her face. Gratitude, fear, excitement; she was having fun running away like nothing would happen. The man keeps following alongside his friends. The streets get smaller too and there are too many ways to go. "You live here, right? Which way do we go?" Amy allows Morgana to move freely and to pick a way, any of them. Be it the alley to the right or to the left; the street keeps going too.
A little girl grips the Yakuza's left hand as he is chasing the pair, restraining his movements and stopping him in his tracks. "Hello, Yakuza from Yakuza."
Morgana lets himself get grabbed and gets carried along for the ride. Damn, those guys are moving fast. The feline tugs at his muddled memories of this district then settles on a direction. He leaps out of Amy’s arms and darts into an alley to the left. Hopefully that little glowing girl(?) would buy them more time.
"This way kitten." A mysterious-looking girl beckons the pair from the left alleyway, which hasn't been cleaned in such a long time trash has started to pile up near the dumpster. The girl is wearing a rather fancy dress to be found in this kind of place, carefully hiding her left eye behind her bangs. Still, there's an air of confidence about her that suggests this isn't her first time visiting the area.
"What is happening anymore!?" Amy had no time to properly think and act accordingly. It was simple enough to follow the cat and then the new strange person. At the same time, one of the yakuza men is stopped by the strange little girl and looks down, confused. "What's this all about!? Go back to your parents or something!" He yells, trying to be let go and follow the other three of his criminal companions who go into the right alleyway. "That... maybe that was a bit too dangerous for my liking." Amy catches her breath, giving Morgana a thumbs up and a smile to the new person. "Hey! Thank you for helping us too! You..." She looks from top to bottom at the fancy dress and puts her hands on her own cheeks. "Did you get lost or something too?"
The rest of the Yakuza would be impeded by a raging fire erupting right in front of them, forming a wall which engulfs the entire path forward. "I cannot allow you to commit crime. That would be bad."
Morgana puffs his chest out and purrs. Still, he does wonder who this new lady is. His icy blue eyes stare up at her. Young for this place too, but more confident. The Yakuza are gone so chatting is on the table.

"Do I look that lost?" The girl raises an eyebrow, giving Amy an inquisitive glance before kneeling down to pet Morgana. "No, I'm actually a regular here. Bit of a rough crowd but you can have a lot of fun if you know where to look." The girl chuckles to herself before speaking affectionately to the cat. "Those mean thugs were after you weren't they? Don't worry, I'll make sure they get what they deserve." most of them had already ran off, but that was fine. The girl remembered seeing them in the neighborhood a few times before, which meant they wouldn't be hard to find later.
Considering the sudden display of terrible power, the yakuza scream in terror as they try to run away from the little girl who just used fire. "I-I'm sorry!!!" They say as they run for their lives with no will to fight and even change their way of life. This last one is a big maybe. "Y-Yeah, that one guy was hitting on me! I think. I think it was hitting on me. Would it count...?" Amy didn't know. What she did know is that she needed to bow at the stranger. "Thank you very much! My name is Eimi Amachi, but my friends call me Amy. Who are you, miss?"
Asami would extinguish the fire in an instant, running off in the direction Amachi went and running into the alleyway too. One may notice the intense aura of light she gave off. "Yo, I got rid of those Yakuza that were chasing you. What's your favorite JoJo part?"
"Hm?" The girl looks back up at Eimi, as if having just been reminded of their existence. But at the very least they were helping the kitty, so she couldn't have been too bad of a person. So the girl deigns to stand back up, returning Eimi's bow with one of her own. "My name is Tokisaki Kurumi. I see you're friends with this little guy?" The girl asks Eimi while bending down to pat Morgana on the head. Unfortunately their little meeting was interrupted by the presence of a spirit who practically radiated energy. Kurumi gives the child a friendly grin, maintaining a calm and friendly tone "Well thank you very much then. Personally I preferred part three's simplistic nature and complete formula rewrite, but its hard to hate the classics even if part one ran a little bland."
Morgana purrs and leans into the pets. Tokisaki’s a nice girl, although he wonders what she’s doing here. Ah well. She must be tough if she can talk about handling the thugs with such confidence. In hindsight he wishes he could have gotten their names but he trusts this girl to handle it herself.
"I think part two is the better one. The protagonist always coming up with a new plan and winning by sheer wit and ingenuity against beings far beyond humanity you don't see in such a fun manner too often!" She quickly replies. "Yeah, we’re friends! I came to this town with some business in mind. It didn't go as I had planned though." Amy decides to join in on the petting of Morgana. This little cat saved her after all. If she could, she would take the little guy back home. "Lucky for me, we met by chance and then he saved me from those scary guys inside the bar. His name is Morgana by the way!"
"Ara Ara. Fond of the courageous hero vanquishing an immortal foe are you? Well, I did say you can't fault someone for loving the classics." Kurumi pauses for a moment. While there was nothing special about the answer itself, the girl's reasoning was far more intriguing. For now, Kurumi picks up Morgana, holding the cat loosely so that he has all the freedom to escape he might want while holding them close enough for Eimi to stroke as well. "Morgana's a cute name, but I'm not sure it fits such a strong man. He looks like he's seen a fair amount of trouble. No wonder he's your savior." Though the girl maintains a loose hold on Morgana, she can't help but comment on Eimi's business. "Shouldn't you be getting along then? You never know what kind of terrors might lurk at night. Kihihihihi." Kurumi lets out a high-pitched, almost witch-like laugh
"Hmmm~ Maybe it has to do with my type. I'm into the kind of man that never gives up and finds solutions in the blink of an eye and pulls through against all odds with brains over brawn~!!" She covers her cheeks with eyes closed, giggling to herself as she pictures her kind of guy. Letting out a long sigh, she looks back at Kurumi with red on her cheeks. "Ooh~ I'm okay, they just caught me off guard. I can fight against people just fine!" She keeps a silly grin on her face as she prepares her fists to punch the air. As she does the initial two punches, she goes for a third. It creates multiple afterimages, making it seem as if five different arms followed along. "See? See? Do you know how to defend yourself too? N-Not to be rude or anything but you don't seem like a normal person!"
Ah, such bliss. Morgana purrs while the conversation continues. It’s not so bad being a hero. His counterpart must have loved attention like this. He’s content to just be held like this, although eventually he’ll have to be on his way... actually, that depends. He doesn’t really have anywhere major to go. Unless it’s to pester that one human for fatty tuna. That’s definitely an important stop.
Asami nods as the girls give their opinions. "Mmm, good answers, personally I like the direction the series went with Steel Ball Run." She then giggles at Amachi's mention of a normal person. "Haha, what are the odds you'd actually run into a normal person? I bet even the cat has some sort of supernatural power."
"Ara are. This city sure is full of surprises." Kurumi lets out a light chuckle as she continues watching Eimi. She wasn't the first person Kurumi'd met, and the girl doubted they'd be the last. But that was just fine by her. "Can't a girl hold onto her secrets? Look too deeply and you just might get bitten." Kurumi flashes a wicked grin, a look of hunger briefly crossing her eyes before she closes them to let out another high-pitched laugh. With only that last ominous warning, Kurumi passes Morgana off to Eimi as she walks in the direction the four thugs ran in. "I'm off to eat. Take good care of the little one now."
"Eeeeh? So soon? At least give me your number, I don't know many people around Shinjuku!" She pouts as she gives herself time to think. "I almost forgot about school, but it's been a few months already. I miss those guys." Lost in thought for a long while, she comes back to it, deciding to properly see the time. "This late already!? No kidding I should get moving before the trains stop! Bye weird girl, bye Morgana! See you again at another time so don't die or choke on tuna!" With that said, Amy is gone from the area, following the exact path she followed before their dead-end.
“Myaa!” Morgana meows farewell then pads off into an alley. For a moment, a tint of red can be seen in his eyes, but it reverts to blue when he steps back into the lights. That was an eventful night, but where to go now? Some fatty tuna sounds nice... time to pay that fish selling human a visit.
