Part 2
I also love how the basis of the story for the game is all about defying fate and breaking the chains of oppression from a corrupt society and while the story might not be quite as hard hitting as P3, it's certainly not far from it. I really like how it initially starts out as a series of small individual missions tied loosely together, but the further you get into the game, the more you realize everything is connected in some way, even the smallest details can end up being very important later in the game, it's just brilliant the way the writers pulled this off. The cast of characters is great and they all have their own unique struggles which are greatly developed upon and tie into the main plot, making every character feel like a very important part of the game.
Basically all in all I'd say Persona 5 is a game that takes all the best features of past entries, including some that had been discarded in more recent entries, and builds on everything, while introducing its own new ideas and fixing most of the flaws, making it a godlike combination of P2, P3, P4 and SMT: Nocturne, thus creating the ultimate Persona game.
P.S. Makoto best girl.
