there are a lot of little things you can do to help!! try to avoid loud noises or sources of bright like(like monitors(the program f.lux can also help!!)) for an hour before going to sleep!! also, forming habits that you do before you go to sleep can also help your body get into sleep mode!! things like light cleaning, showering, brushing your teeth, etc., around the same time every night can help!!
getting sunlight when you wake up can also help align your sleep cycles to what you need!! if you can't get decent sunlight, you could also look into purchasing one of those artificial sun lights(these are also good to help combat symptoms of depression if you spend a lot of time indoors!!)!!
additionally, you should try to avoid using your bed for anything but sleeping or adult rated things!! things like watching tv, playing games, using your phone, etc., while in your bed will make it more difficult for your brain to go into sleep mode!!
if you drink any caffeine during the day, you should try to avoid drinking it 6-8 hours before you go to sleep!! surprisingly, caffeine can have a long-lasting effect on your body that interferes with sleep even long after you've drank it!! alcohol should also be avoided!! while it is relaxing, it unfortunately also lowers the quality of your sleep!!
sorry for the huge infodump but i hope something here can be useful for you!! good luck in the future!!
