I have to admit, he looks really handsome with those glasses. It would be nice to have him aa my lover, but his mother has prevented me from getting close to him.

Fake, I mean I am a glasses Person myself and usually squint my eyes a lot when I don't wear glasses.

I've heard a lot of people say they're not correctional, but I've never seen an official source on that.

I'm skeptical that he'd wear the same pair of glasses literally all the time in his day to day life if he didn't need them. I doubt that he's Velma without his glasses, but he probably still does need them.

Until I get an official confirmation from somewhere that that's not that case, I'm just going to assume that "his vision is fine and he just wears them for fashion" is just something that everybody assumes because everyone else assumes it.

What confuses me: In the flashbacks where Akira tried to save that lady from Shido, he didn't have glasses, but then he shows up to Leblanc with glasses!

The girls didn't want him to wear glasses at the summer festival, and he didn't, they also never mentioned contacts either!

OOC: i believe he does not need them to see properly, but they are prescription. I wear glasses not to help me see better, but to help my eyes focus. Theoretically i could go forever without them and see fine but it would strain my eyes.
I believe Akira's are similar, or at least somewhat close.

TL;DR: some people need glasses all the time but are fine without.
