Persona 5 decussion thread
What part of persona 5 would you guys like to discuss? I hated all the scenes where Ryuji talked because his actions toward Mona were totally unjustified.
I hated how Ryuji was basically handed the Idiot ball whenever it was needed for the plot, or even just for humor. Seemed kinda unnecessary and made me feel a bit sorry for the guy.
Let's discuss persona 5 ending and what happend
Why do you hate me this much?
@Ryuji-Skull wrong profile photo
Ryuji's okay, honestly I hate Ann, I kinda think she's the most useless character in the game, at least for me. Not a fan of her character of confidant, and never found any use for her in combat
@Bgammax but, being an idiot was part of Ryuji's character. It wouldn't make sense if he started acting right. I mean, they could've given Ryuji a development arc where he gets smarter, but he's not that important of a character to develop.
Why didn't Mona disappear?
@Mona
Ryuji being an idiot is fine, but when they use it as an excuse to do the obviously MOST INCORRECT THING repeatedly it gets pretty worn-out and he becomes annoying.
@Hibiki Lady Ann works as hard as she can! Besides, it's not right to judge someone based on their worth, it's what's inside that counts!
@Bgammax i'm not sure I understand what you're talking about.
EVen if he's not the smartest of the bunch, i feel like Ryuji's stupidity was a bit overplayed some-no, most of the time after the kamoshida arc. and saying ryuji getting mad at morgana unprovoked? Morgana was always the worst about constantly needling him with insults about what a dummy he is, it got on my nerves a bit (i still love you morgana don't worry). Although there were times when ryuji should have calmed down and not let Morgana get to him and shouldn't have encouraged the kitty to up and leave, i'd say his dislike towards teh cat was at least a little justified, even if it cause dproblems.
@Mona @Bgammax
Ryuji being an idiot is fine, but when he's used as nothing more than a plot device to kick off the next Palace it gets pretty worn-out and he becomes annoying.
What's inside Ann? You mean a Persona that learns one good skill?
@Mona awwww Morgana , you love her so much , do you
Then I'll help
Also access to Tarunda (and Mind Charge late-game) plus a little bit of backup healing makes Ann a character i had in my party the entire game! She's far from useless
@Hibiki it's not fair to judge her like that...

What are your persona's skills?
@Mona
its most pronounced during the arc where Mona leaves, even when he recognizes they need Mona he's still overly insulting in his apology and gives us what (in my opinion) is one of the most annoying parts of the game for no real reason.
When I first learned that Mona leaves, I thought it was going to be some big sad heart touching moment of everyone coming to realize how much they needed Mona.

Nope, it was 100% Ryuji's fault and 0% Ryuji learning his lesson.
Everything about when Mona left and leading up to it was awful for me, I agreed with him on the point of going into the palace that everyone else was being scared about and Ryuji was god awful for the whole thing >>'
(I also still don't see Ann not being more useful than the majority of other chars but that arguments happened before so nope.)
On the plus side, Ryuji at least DID something after his arc of the game ended.

Unlike Ann who immediately faded into the background and never did anything of note again.
I hate Ryuji so much. He revealed the truth of the Phantom Thieves what... ten times??
Realistically he would've gotten the whole group caught and/or killed by being careless.

...Though some of the things the whole group did together was questionable at best too but.
@Migrant she may not be a major plot point (Ryuji being one was forced) but she does contribute to the Phantom Thieves by discussing things as shown through text.
Ryuji was an objectively terrible choice for team member. He just makes life harder for everyone, and somehow never learns from his mistakes. He's really sweet in animated cutscenes, but otherwise he's rude and vulgar
To be fair a lot of other chars didn't particularly stand out in doing much for the group outside of their arc either. Yusuke also did a whole load of nothing but he's still great.
I personally don't like Yusuke, he's always incredibly pushy yet smart in person, but over text he just asks obvious questions and pisses everyone off.
