I need your help guys.
My friend does not want to play Persona 3 because he only plays "deep and strategic" games such as League of Legends...

Help me help him with some nice arguments.
How 'bout "You suck and I don't care about you anymore"
How about "lol LoL"
LoL, deep and strategic... Ok kid.
Well, you could point out the complexity of the fusion system and how min-maxxing is practically required for the higher difficulties. Combat itself is more of a puzzle based on preparation it seems.
You could point out how the theme of narrative is about accepting the inevitably of loss and that it's explored through the development of the cast as you play through the story. Plus, the combat itself is fairly difficult and will require decent strategy even on easy mode.

If you're talking non-portable you can also point out how it's as much about fighting the enemy as it is not getting screwed over by your allies.
I mean, tell them a guy sacrificed his life to save a kid.
Tell him that there are hot girls.
I'd say the inability to control your party members adds an extra layer of strategy and planning you won't find in many other turn-based RPGs.

...although that might be more hurtful to your case than helpful. I tried!
ditch him he aint your friend anymore
Call him a console peasant and then tell him a true member of the PC master race can admit Persona 5 is one of the best games of all time
If he likes League of Legends, then he should love Persona 3.

Trying not to get fucked over by your team-mates, and in turn trying to not insult your allies when something goes wrong? They're the same game.
