Your Shadow Self

I don't disagree with your logic, but how do you explain them not finding Sojiro's Shadow in 5?
To be that implied people without much distortion at least do not have their Shadows in Mementos. But if not, where are they?
And it is said in game Personas are the characters' Shadows. </quote>
I can’t say for sure, I haven’t gotten past Makoto joining. But Sojiro seems to have repented so his shadow would be bound to his Ego. Mementos is “the Underworld†of the Collective unconscious, it is closer to Tartarus in function, being where the Shadows that aren’t bound to an Ego reside and appear as Demons, but Mementos is designed more similarly. Normal people like us have our Shadows Within our selves.
The Persona is a reflection of your Shadow, If you have the Wild Card ability you can access a plethora of Persona within the Compendium. Most people don’t have the Wild Card ability so they are stuck with the Persona Reflected by their Shadow. But, I think it was arena, if the person was to falter to their shadow they would lose their Persona. The Shadow holds the Persona for the Ego, and when the Ego is Strong Enough the Persona is reflected.
Your Shadow Self
This is quite the interesting topic actually. In Certain Spirituality paths there is Shadow Work, it’s something I’ve done with my roommates. The last 2 games give better insight on how Shadow’s function while P3 gives a better idea of how wild Shadows can effect others. P4 shows how our shadows interact with us, while they normally aren’t as extreme and disturbing, by working on the Shadow we uncover the Persona, more often called spirit guides. P5 shows us the effects Sin/Desires can have on our Shadows, Shadow’s that reach Palace Levels are usually removed from their Ego. Being removed from the Ego the person is unmoved by any deals made to make them Better, seen with how the Palace Owners are so set in their ways until the Treasure has been stolen.
My Shadow is formless much like the Slime Persona, with mine it has “great Hair†as the only distinguished feature. My problem is that I have no direction in my life so I am stuck in perpetual “I Don’t Know†Cycles. I had changed majors way too much in Uni so going and finishing it seems a bigger task than I’m ready for. But working on my Shadow I was able to find Ophelia, of Hamlet fame, she is a Hanged Man, able to assume any role necessary. Now I am far from complete with my Shadow but working little bits at a time makes it easier. As for the dungeon it would probably end up being more of a maze than what we have seen.
But Everyone has a Shadow, even working through it to get an Awakened Persona leaves a Shadow. It’s a necessary segment of the psyche to help balance out your Ego.<div class='edited'>(edited by Centurion)</div>
