Personally, Minato (Makoto, Yuki, whatever) is my favorite because of Persona 3, and he isn't personality driven, like the other stories eventually did. He's literally just a blank character, and you fill in his personality.

Might mean death, who gives a foop, at least it would be an interesting death.

I was sort of obvious. Didn't surprise me much, my friend caught onto the pancakes conversation really early into the game and pointed it out, he still hasn't gotten to the traitor part yet, but I was flipping out when I heard it. Was sort of disappointing though, they sort of took the persona 4 plot again, and threw it in there.
