Hubris of the World Part 1: Existence that Proceeds Pride
*A flash of light lit the sky. It happened suddenly with no time for anyone to react but all at once the entire sky lit of in a shining white flash of light. When the light began to clear in its place was left a massive shining star that burned within the sky. It shined down onto a Dome like structure that sparkled ominously in the light. Even from a distance the world felt off now and the light emanating from the star sent a chill up everyone's spine as if it was something that...didn't belong.*
*In a similarly quick instant, a certain aura came over Mig. An aura that hadn't been there since before the incident in the Bunker...* It's time to begin...
*Gamma feels a shiver down his spine as he looks up at the star in the sky* I get the feeling I know this asshole. And he's got a lot I need to pay him back for. *Gamma grins as he looks at the sky* Besides, perhaps this will be useful to me.
*Analyzing this new happening from a distance, Em forms a Persona card in his hand, smashing it to summon Saul around himself.* Alright, threat of the week, gimme your data... About time something like this showed up anyways. *Saul's antenna like head points towards the light, scanning a small chunk of it within view.*
*Nobody sits atop a nearby building with a grin.*
[Standing atop a nearby building, Hazama looks up at the sky with a devilish grin.] My my, it's been quite some time. You kept me...no, you kept us all waiting. Let's hope the wait was worth it, haha. [He begins chuckling to himself, as he goes toward the fire escape of the building, likely intending to go down to street level.]
OOC: A different nearby building then the one with nobody on it, I guess? Man, we sure are descriptive in these parts.
OOC: Nobody agrees with your point. Allow me to say a building to the North of the dome. I'd say great minds think alike, but I'm not real....now am I?
*Delta would look up from his dojo to see the light flash in the sky. A grim look eases on his face as he dons his black gi.* It seems I woke up at a good time. Mammon, forgive me for what I'll have to do. Come, Belzebub! *Stepping outside he summons the Lord of the Flies and jumps on it's back. The Persona takes to the skies and heads towards the light.*
*It was pretty hard for Alice not to notice a light show of this magnitude so she'd turn her attention to the sky. The obscure feeling that overcame her after the aforementioned event had given her all the motivation she needed to decide on acting.* I see, so it's going to be one of those nights tonight. Well I had better not be late then. *She'd head off in the direction of the star, choosing to walk to her destination rather than fly... or whatever mode of transportation she usually uses.*
*Time and space seems to gather in an alleyway, condensing to the point where you can feel it with your fingers as it cuts open, Aitome stepping out and closing it, sighing as she gets hit by the flash of light Gah! What was that? That was not normal... *Aitome then takes a look around and notices the dome, Sheesh, can't catch a break, I suppose heros don't rest though. *Aitome then begins to run over to the dome, it might take a little while...
*As everyone approaches the light it grows brighter and brighter, but despite this, nobody ever feels blinded by it but rather driven to keep staring at it and following it further and further until a massive dome-shaped building is reached that sparkles in the light with a smooth white shiny exterior.* Bonus Nav Check So Em doesn't Kill Me: *The light leads to a dome shaped building with a convoluted interior, there's a large entrance area and then a hall that splits into two paths the lead to equally large rooms.*
*Gamma walks onwards towards the building, having yet to notice any of the others in the area* Alright, this looks promising.... What was it those Sins had again?... Well, whatever they're called, it should be perfect for me.
*Aitome approaches the dome breathing deeply from her run, putting her hands on her knees as she bends over to take a deep breath, Gah... not used to running so far... *Aitome then catches her breath after a little while and examines the bright exterior, looking for an entrance Gotta be something here...
*Nobody stands and stretches while standing on the edge of the North building.* Keke...quite a display brother. *Nobody would finish speaking and leap off of the building, landing on the ground with no sound. Nobody would proceed to walk towards the dome and make his way towards the entrance. Upon arriving, Nobody would proceed to enter and take the left path.*
*Wanders up to the building, not sure if anyone else is there...* Well, looks like it's time to finally put a bow on this mess.
*Now knowing his objective, Em begins to run his way over to entrance of the building, keeping Saul active as the Persona floats slightly off the ground.* Hmm... right or left... Well, questions for later when I meet up with anyone else here.
*The man with white hair floats above the city, but soon descends and lands in front of the dome's entrance. He observes the structure with a scowl on his face.* To think, you would truly go through with this plot. Prideful cannot begin to describe it, how fitting.
*Delta hops off of Belzebub and takes in the sight, talking softly under his breath to himself.* Always one to make sure your work was perfect. Could it have killed you to lay off on the brightness though? *Noticing some others, Delta wonders who else will arrive. Summoning his Persona masks, Delta selects the icy blue one and it attaches itself to his face. With that in order, he looks for an entrance before addressing the others.*
*Alice emerges from a nearby alleyway and looks up to the sky, checking to make sure that the star aligns with the dome. Afterwards she'd look around. She was right to expect people, especially familiar faces, but is more happy to find that she's actually not late this time around. The first person she'd notice, and thus acknowledge, would be Gamma, especially after overhearing his comment about Sins.* Sins you say? I take it you have an idea what's going on here Gamma? *Might as well phish for info while waiting for others to take the lead.*
*Gamma sighs and nods to Alice* Long story short, they're a group of entities who originate from here, the Nexus. See each other as one big happy family or something. Regardless, they've been a pain for quite a while, about time one of them gave back don't you think? *Gamma walks in to the building, looking around for anything unusual*
*The entrance to the building is two grand white door. One door is slightly open, specifically one the left side. It seems someone is already here...or are they? The doors begin opening by themselves revealing 8 plaques, 4 on each side of another set of doors. Each of them has a different description and have a strange icon displayed above. They seem to correspond to something, but what that is, nobody is quite sure. Another strange detail is that each has a light next to it as well, half the light on one side are lit up while only 1 on the other is barely shining at all as it flickers slightly every so often.*
*From Lucifer he leaps down to the ground, clearly not caring about a twenty foot fall. The man simply observes the group for a moment before shrugging and joining them, obviously not happy about this crap but as always... Willing to deal with it* Alright then everyone, what do we know so far? beyond Hubris has decided to be a dick and make some random building for seemingly no reason I'm sure is actually an evil plot? *Tatsu raises an eyebrow at them all before checking the building for any structural weakness one might use high explosives against*
Hmm..... well this is a puzzle I've seen more times than I'd like to see again. Guessing we need to deal with each of those plaques to open the big doors to our prize.
*Aitome stares at the objects for a second before throwing her arms in the air, scarf on her hoodie whipping through the air as she turns around Yep, I've got nothing, I don't understand it at all. I'm not very good at this whole puzzle thing.
It'll be much faster if we split up. So yeah, that's my suggestion. Predictably. I call the flickering plaque. Reminds me of Shiranui. *Gamma walks over to the plaque with a flickering light and inspects it for some meaning*
*Em eventually catches up with the others by the front doors.* Oh, we're dealing with Hubris again? I was wondering when he'd strike again... Hey, isn't Gamma still missing his Pride or something? I wonder if we'll get that back... Anyways, let's check these doors out... *Em peers through the open door, attempting to make out anything inside it. If it's dark, he throws a ball of light inside in order to see.*
*Nobody smirks as the others begin to enter. Nobody would talk under their breath.* I guess I'll let these people try their hand at this puzzle. Far be it from me to take from my friends. Kekeke... *Nobody would stand in the corner of the left room and wait for the solution.*
We don't really know anything right now Tatsuya. Nothing left to do be try and find out. *Delta enters and heads towards the doors. Despite it likely being a moot point, he tries to open the other set of doors.*
OOC: Fuck me sideways, I read it wrong. IC: *Em instead inspects what's inside the doors, the plaques and the symbols.*
*The man with white hair turns to Tatsuya, with a genuine smile.* My, if it isn't another Shining One. It is a pleasure to meet you, Tatsuya Suou. As for this situation, even I am unsure as to what Hubris might be plotting. However, I suggest we work with haste, otherwise Hubris may get impatient, and someone like him may get...rash without restraint.
*Tatsuya sighs, obvious annoyed at the whole not being able to just blow it all to hell thing after he realizes that, as per usual the bitch Hubris has left no structural weaknesses.* Geez you'd think these enemies could be more considerate of others, I just wanted to blow up some building is that too much ta ask? *He shakes his head and shrugs before turning to one of the plaques, trying to figure out what the hell magic if any flows through these things*
*Alice, having since entered the structure, looks around at the varying plaques. Finding Gamma's suggestion to be the most productive, she'd head off towards one of the plaques and begin to read the description of it.* It would seem that the masterminds of these places are quite fond of their puzzles. To those that actually enjoy solving these, maybe it's considerate? *While reading over the description of the plaque she had went over to, she'd tap her chin.*
*As everyone enters the room the plaques stand out above all else. Gamma goes to inspect the flickering one. The inscription reads, Greed. An icon displaying a circle with a cross through it can be seen above the plaque, next to it a flicking light.* *All the plaques seem to follow this pattern as they display the names of sins, the lit ones being: Envy, Pride, Sloth, and Emptiness. The rest have no light on and feel less...vibrant almost.* *The other set of doors within the large room open normally. As Delta attempts to open them.*
*Gamma sighs and shrugs* Looks like these are just the sins. Not sure why the lights, guess its a status check of sorts. Regardless, its all extraneous information. Nothing to do but move forward. *Gamma quietly makes his way past Delta and the others to enter the next set of doors*
*Nobody would look over the lit plaques with a grin before sneaking past Delta into the next room. Nobody looks around the new room.*
Hmm.... a memorial of sorts....? Or is this implying we can't progress until we--- *Sees Delta open them* Wow, denied a puzzle. I'm... okay with this. I had enough doors dealing with Mammon.
That was... unexpected. Hubris... This won't be easy, will it? *Delta's eyes close for a second before a faint being of snow appears behind him. Taking the initiative, he steps through the doors to see what lies ahead.*
Aren't these those sins? What are we supposed to do about this... *Aitome gets closer and puts her hand on Emptiness, feeling if its a button or simply just a piece of decoration before seeing Pinky move forward, following behind Hey! W-wait up!
*Tatsu follows, his eyes darting about the place as they do when in a dangerous area.* Heh no puzzle... I'm now more suscpet of things but still. It's better than the usual where we spend hours dicking around for no reason with something we should just blow up or burn or. *He continues listing numerous better ways to ki er slove puzzles as he walks forward*
*Em follows the others into the next set of doors. He turns to Tatsuya while walking.* So I saw earlier that we've got a split path aheads. Hopefully we'll just be able to go together and not split our forces. Man, this would be a good time for two Navigators, actually...
How... anti-climactic? But progress is progress! *She'd move on ahead with the others after stepping away from the plaque she had been previously investigating.* It would seem that you're quite on point Gamma. I'd almost wonder if this is all just an elaborate trap set by you! *She smirks. Clearly even she finds that possibility unlikely.*
*The man would inspect the plaques, looking at each one carefully, and with an almost sad look in his eye.* To lose ones that humans would say you...loved. I must ponder if I have ever felt such loss. Such anguish. I must also ponder if a creature such as Hubris is even capable of feeling something such as that. Hm, a matter for another time. *The man floats through the large doors, still thinking to himself as he proceeds.*
*The next set of doors leads to a hall that splits between left and right. A bright light can be seen to the left of the hallway, but something about the right catches the eyes of a certain few, a gray robed figure can be seen just in the corner of these people's eyes as it walks down the right path. Perhaps, only those with a bond to the individual can follow down the right path but the left feels as if it has more overall importance.*
*Aitome steps into the hall and notices the glimpse of they grey hood, eyes widening as she runs over to it, chasing after the individual with as much speed as she can muster H-hey! Come back here!
*Gamma catches sight of the figure to the right, as such, he attempts to wave the others towards the left path* Now now, I think we all know how this goes. You losers should go the other way, so we don't end up in each others' way of course. Its the brighter path, so its probably more important anyways. I'll simply ensure nothing is missed is all. *Gamma sighs as he walks down the right path*
*The man would stop at the fork, and turn to the others. It seems he either hasn't noticed the figure in grey, or perhaps doesn't want to say anything.* Perhaps it would be best to go our separate ways here, for the time being. I shall do down this path, any who wish to accompany may. *The man floats down the path to the left, not waiting for anyone's response.*
*Nobody looks over to the robed figure with a wry grin, before turning towards the left path and walking towards the light.*
*Em continues to go down the left path, the cloaked figure not grabbing his attention, despite the fact he'd most likely recognize the person wearing it.*
*Mig sighs at the people going right, it's not that she couldn't guess who that was, it was more that she more or less gave up on him becoming anything but a weird hermit a while ago. So she goes toward the light path.*
*Alice narrows her eyes at Gamma as he departs. She clearly didn't take too kindly to being called a loser and got too caught up worrying about it to even notice the eye-catching person to the right. She'd storm off down the left path, rambling to herself.* "Loser" he says... He's going to get it later.
*Not noticing the figure in grey, Delta continues towards the left focused on the light.* Hubris, I'll have to deliver his last feelings to you.
*Tatsuya runs down the right path after debating for... No time at all really, he doesn't like working with that idiot Gamma but for a friend it's not even a question* You can play loner like the dumbass you are when my friend isn't counting on you Gamma! Oh and stay behind me we both know your thing is ranged combat. *His Persona shifts to Lucifer begrudgingly letting go of Apollo so as not to get in the way of Gamma's ice and darkness, for once he's actually taking this seriously*
OOC: Side Path Thread to avoid clutter https://phansite.net/forum/topic.php?topic=10852
*The rest of the group continues to journey down the left side as the light grows brighter and brighter until eventually it all at once stops as they aproach a open door. A familiar child with white hair can be seen in the next room. They sit on the ground and look around with a confused looks.*
*Nobody circles behind the child with a vicious grin, just waiting behind him.*
*Watches the kid for a moment, trying to place exactly who.... she's fairly sure it's Superbia, but not 100%...*
*The man stops, and kneels down next to the child, bending down to one knee.* Greetings, young one. It is unlikely you know who I am, but I assure you I am quite familiar with you. I believe I already know the answer to this query, but what exactly are you doing here?
*Em takes a step back and leans on a wall, looking at the child before them.* Been a while. You're, uh... looking good..? Ack, I've never been one for small talk. What's your deal, man?
*Superbia looks up to the stranger. He stands up and look over to the others as well.* I was simply here on personal business. Something about this place... It feels familiar to me. The real question would be what are you all doing here? This isn't exactly the kind of place one visits normally. You saw the light in the sky. That's his light...
*Alice enters through the doorway and spots the mystery child. Whoever it may or may not be, she's yet to meet them so has little to no idea as to who they may be or the significance they have in tonight's events. She remains quiet as to let the others do the talking while she tries to get up to speed with the history behind this "Hubris" and what this child's being here might entail.*
*At the mention of the light Delta approaches Superbia.* You know about Hubris? How are the two of you related?
I did.... but this really isn't the place for you. If you stick around here you're liable to be... to stop being yourself.
Pretty sure Hubris made him, or something, Delta. Anyways, this whole thing just showed up in our, "realm," if you wish to call it that, and we're investigating. That's about all I got for ya, Subia.
*Superbia looks down as Delta mentions Hubris.* I was put together by Hubris. Like a puppet meant to serve him. That's no longer who I am though. I think I've found a purpose of my own, but what exactly it is, I am not sure.
*The man smiles at Superbia's response.* Yes, you have the potential to become human yourself, even if you were not brought into existence as one. Even now emotion stirs within you, and even more so a drive to accomplish a goal. Both of those aspects make humanity what it is. I believe this goes for each of your kind, you can all become more than what you were created to be.
Heh, purpose? Isn't it simple, really? Your purpose is to live, and be yourself. Just like everyone else.
I see... Well then, once you find the purpose- *Delta's eyes contain a sudden intensity as he continues.* Don't let it go, no matter what. Keeping what it is that makes you yourself is one of the most important parts of life. *Delta's eyes lose the seriousness and he looks around the room for a path forward.* If you're not here to stop us I've some words to give Hubris... and probably a fight too.
*Em frowns at Superbia's response.* I'm real happy you found something, but unfortunately inside of you there're vital parts of two of my friends. Er, well, one friend and one ally. I'd gladly offer to help find a way to keep you alive and get them back to normal.
*Nobody would laugh and approach the child, leaving his presence unknown to all but Superbia.* The child thinks they've found meaning in their false existence! Oh wonderful! Kekeke! *Nobody would cease speaking and walk in front of the child, his grin filled with malice.* A beautiful and enigmatic existence. One that defies all conventional logic.
*Superbia suddenly freezes up, for the first time since they began their existence, a look of fear plants itself on their face.* W-who's speaking to me...? W-why...What is this feeling?!? What are you...Where are you?
*The man seems taken aback at the outburst, and raises his guard.*
*The sudden expression of fear that the child gives off puts Alice into alert mode. She couldn't tell if the child was hallucinating or if it was, for some reason, reacting negatively to the group's words. Her first instinct is to look around the room for anyone that hadn't entered with the group.* What in the world? What's the matter Subia? *Subia, of course, referring to Superbia but she figured Subia was its name as it was the only thing she had heard it been called by.*
*Nobody's malicious grin grows as they speak, becoming seemingly tangible but only to Superbia.* I am right here and I am nothing. Just as you were, and just as you shall be again. The feeling is fear I'd assume, fear of the unknown, of death. Worry not, this won't hurt. *Nobody reaches forward resting a hand on Superbia's chest.* The moniker bestowed upon my nonexistence is Null. Pleased to meet you for the first and last time.
*Delta stops his search for way forward and focuses on Superbia. He instinctively places his right hand on the Persona mask on his face and waits to see what happens. Unsure what Superbia is up to.*
*Em puts his right hand hand on a sword, and readies himself for a threat.* Tsk, I'd throw out an attack, but I don't want it to backfire... Superbia, please, tell us what's going on!
*Superbia begins looking highly distressed as Null places his hand on his chest.* W-what are you doing!?! Stop...I don't...I don't want to disappear! I-I... Gamma...Ene...Hubris...Was it so wrong...that I wanted to exists! I want to be alive...I am real...I am-
*The man looks at the boy with almost pity, and gets close. His guard is still up, but he tries to calm the boy down.* Superbia, you mustn't allow yourself to be blinded by your own delusions. You are your own being, child. Not a servant of Hubris, not a simple shard of two human beings, you are yourself.
*Superbia's words cut into Delta deeply, and for better or worse, he dashes towards him. Hoping that somehow, he can help the child if he closes the distance. Reaching a hand towards the child is all he can do at this point, as a plea to fight on begins to form on his lips.*
Your existence is a farce, child. Accept your fate. From the void you were birthed and from the void you shall return! *Nobody would allow their arm to lose its physical properties as he'd plunge into Superbia's chest, fishing around for a familiar warmth.* Please try to be still and silent. Wouldn't want the others to make a mess of you, now would we?
It's not wrong! It's not wrong at all for ANYONE to want to exist! Don't tell yourself silly things like that. Ene got better, Gamma got better!
*Superbia remains motionless for a moment before Null grabs onto the core of it's being, the flame of Pride.* P-please...help...m-me... *Superbia's state of being seems to become ever so slightly thinner.*
*Em can only encourage Superbia as he hesitates to act on the situation at hand.* Come on Subia, fight back! You can be your own person if you want! There's nothing wrong with it!
*The man is at a loss for what to do, and simply reaches out to touch the boy's face, almost like a parent would their own flesh and blood.* Child...
We can't help you, only you can find the will to live. You just gotta grab onto that thing and hang on tight! Hold it so tight you can't think of anything else!
No no no, child. You shall be the one to help me! Ignore them and accept your fate. Farewell, child. *Nobody would pull a small white flame out from Superbia's chest.*
*Reaching Superbia, Delta frantically wonders what he could do to help the child before whatever is happening runs its course. He loses the icy blue mask he was wearing before as it fades away. Delta attempts to grab Superbia and tries to move him back, hoping for the best in this situation filled with unknowns.* The only way we can help you is if you fight against whatever this is too! Don't give up!
*Alice kept her eyes on the child up until his plea for help. She felt the urge to try and assist but knew just how powerless she was to prevent Superbia's suffering, at which point she'd look away and close her eyes. All she could say was:* I... I'm sorry.
OOC: Everyone can see the flame, however Null is invisible. For now.
*Superbia falls to the ground as the white flame is extracted. His body begins burning up as he looks up with tears in his eyes one last time.* I...I'm sorry, Gamma. In the end, I wasn't strong... I wish I had that strength you were talking about. I'm just weak after all, too... I-I'm sorry- *Superbia fades away as the last bit of their being fades away. Superbia is gone...but nobody still remains as something more.*
Oh, I see what's going on here..... *a flick of the wrist, a name in the air, oh look it's an ice tree, trying to trap the flame in place* That isn't going anywhere, Hubris.
*With a maniacal grin, Nobody would plunge this light into their chest as he steps away from the boy. A flash of bright light engulfing the room as Nobody assimilates the false shard.* Kekekeke! Finally, this amazing power is mine! The child paradox was more than the boost I needed. *After the light fades, the figure is perfectly visible to all in the room. He turns to the group with an eerie grin.* And now I can make more friends! Kekeke!
*Clenching his teeth, Em withdraws his sword, and points it at the bow visable Null.* You've to a pretty twisted version of friends, pride-stealer! Now give back Superbia, or else I'll cut you down where you stand!
Frinds, huh? Oh, that's right, I remember you now! You're the asshole who told me I have no home and no self! *the tree breaks, but the shards of it still hover in the air, pointing at Null.*
*The man trembles, not in fear, but true anger.* Throughout all of the Akashic Record, throughout all of the archives, there was always one constant. In the vast, nearly endless expanse of data and knowledge, there was one consistency. Nothing. Emptiness, the number zero. Throughout the records there would be blank space, as if something was there. I see now that represented you, Spirit of Emptiness.
*Delta clenches his fists in anger after Superbia fades.* Damn it... It's like Mammon all over again. I didn't think I'd have to deal with this until we reached Hubris... I'm sorry kid. *Then Null finishes the job and Delta turns his attention to what was once just nobody. Ramses is summoned behind Delta without a command.* Pharaoh's Thunder... *Delta speaks the name of the spell and a giant bolt of lightning attempts to strike Null down where it stands.*
*Alice looks back once the previously nonexistent man came into view. She'd glare at him, upset for, at the very least, the emotional trauma she endured from the child-like Superbia's pained final moments.* An invisible man, no doubt subservient to this Hubris being. What's your deal? Why must it cost the life of an innocent!? *As she proposed her questions, Seraph would be summoned and descend upon her as the others preparing for battle was all the proof she needed to anticipate a fight.*
*Somebody covers their face with a hand as they burst into laughter, bringing it to their side shortly after.* Oh how you flatter me, my dear sir. But to see my notoriety giving me such a bad rap, well it leaves something to be desired. But come now, smile and make merry! No need for your scowls and anger! *Somebody snaps his fingers as a block of ice appears above him and blocks the lightning and shatters into brilliant shimmering particles. From the path they took to get here stands Gamma.* See? My good friend Gamma even sees how petty this squabbling is. Kekeke! *Somebody would turn to Em with a grin.* Oh! Pardon me for stealing what was stolen once before. That child was a thief that shouldn't have existed! *Somebody would then turn to Alice with disgust.* I admire my brother, but I am not his follower. I am my own being now! *He'd snap once more as a sea of flames comes from the path where Gamma is, removing the remaining tree bits. Out from behind Gamma steps Kalib.* Ah! More friends, see?
Oh, invasion of the body snatchers, huh? Let me guess, everyone who bonded with you you stole a piece of and can now replicate them. *pauses, thinks for a moment, and seems to realize something* You've been doing that for a while, haven't you? Impersonating people, I mean.
*Backing away from the flames, Em slashes his Persona card with his sword, with Saul flowing up around him.* He didn't steal the pride, Hubris did! Superbia did nothing wrong! Why blame the son for the sins of the father! Saul, Sukunda! *Saul releases a dark green light, attempting to flow around Null as well as the incoming Gamma and Kalib.*
*The man closes his eyes, and places a hand on his hip. The wires that appeared on occasion when he did battle shoot out of his back and wrap around the man. Eventually his entire body is encased, and a light escapes from within the cocoon. In the man's place is an ever shifting red cube with dimensions that should not physically be able to exist, the cube has the same color as his usual garb, and is suspended via wiring. The man's voice rings out over the room.* OOC: https://vignette2.wikia.nocookie.net/megamitensei/images/1/19/Alcor_forms.jpg/revision/latest?cb=20131027045549 Top right image, because that is a bit much to explain. IC: To sacrifice the existence of a mere child, and one with so much potential simply to maintain...no, achieve your own existence, and then to use your newfound existence to attempt to harm the humans I love so much. You are unforgivable. *Holy energy forms over somebody's head, and the light strikes down below with righteous fury.*
Brother...? To think he'd have forgotten one... *Delta clenches his right fist again as Ramses points his staff at him.* Pharaoh's Thunder! *Lightning launches from the staff into Delta, causing his entire body to become electrified, leaving numerous sparks in his wake. Lunging at Null, Delta throws three quick jabs at it's head; right, left then right again before ducking low and attempting a left uppercut. I.e. Triple Lightning Jab into a Lightning Uppercut.*
I-is this some kind of trick!? *Being unfamiliar with the man that had once ceased to exist, she couldn't tell if its two allies really were Gamma and Kalib thus their appearance catching her off guard. Noticing everyone else engaging the enemy, she decides she must as well.* I suppose it will be made clear in violence... At the very least, we'll avenge that innocent boy! *Alice would begin to pray, intent on charging something up immediately rather than going straight to an offense. She doesn't know what to expect so defense would be the safest option regardless. Also, Alice just assumed Superbia's gender so someone should probably check her privilege.*
*Gamma shakes his head as the pair approach.* G: You idiots really can't be trusted to do anything, can you? Superbia was a flawed existence, and to think I played a role in making him. Leave it at that. Null is an ally. *Kalib looks uncomfortable at Gamma's words but nods.* K: Come on guys! He stole from Ene and Gamma! That kid was already on borrowed time! Hell, Null would've been on the floor if we didn't show up when we did! *The pair are then covered in a dark green light and shrug.* G: Is this really what you want? *Kalib pulls a trident off of his back as Gamma readies a staff.* K: Don't make me do this Em! I don't want to hurt you! *Kalib would then look at Alice with a pleading look.* K: Not you too, please! Just stop this! All of you! *As the pair approaches, Somebody is busy getting the stuffing beaten out of him with a large grin spread across his face. He'd snap once more.* Kekeke! You'd hurt your friends? Truly? And I'm the monster? ???: ENOUGH! *From behind Kalib and Gamma runs in ya boi, Joker.* J: Mig! Why are you doing this?! That's my friend! *Somebody would stand and look to Migrant.* I have done nothing of the sort my dear. These are all very real people! All of your little friends!
*Wires shoot out of either side of the cube, attempting to impale somebody from either side.* Do not be swayed my fr- *The voice cuts off, and goes silent for a moment before resuming.* ...Do not be swayed by these illusions. I cannot trust the word of a creature that slaughters others for it's own selfish desires. Until I draw my last breath, I shall stand against you Spirit of Emptiness.
*Em smirks as Kalib sides against them.* Ah, I remember the first time Superbia and I met like it was yesterday. You know who sided with Superbia the entire time? Kalib. You know who really wanted Superbia to become their own thing? Kalib. And I dunno what connection Gamma and him have, but Superbia's dying words seemed awfully contradicting to this. Basically, you're a shit actor. You can't even get their motivations right! Now how about we make this serious! Fusion Storm! *Em builds up some Light, before releasing a flurry of balls of light and hard light daggers at Null, Kalib, Gamma and Joker.*
*Stares the Joker down.....* Get that faker out of my sight! The real Joker wouldn't be standing there stopping me from protecting people.... from protecting her. These are not real, these are just cheap copies you made from people when they showed that they like you! That's the fake Kalib! *Another signing of the air as a barrage of fireballs descends from above, all targeting the Kalib specifically!*
*Alice couldn't help but be swayed by the words of her supposed adversaries. Luckily her true allies' words were all she needed to convince herself who's who and to eventually finish her prayer.* Maybe I'm just ignorant but... I did buy the act for only a second. But I won't be fooled twice! It'd be a disservice to our friends if I accepted these obvious fakers as the reality! *Her prayer finished, her allies would notice shimmering light surround them momentarily before being absorbed into their bodies. Alice's blessing has placed a regenerative effect on her allies as to provide minor relief should they fall victim to an attack.*
*With electricity still flowing through him, Delta ignores Null's words and continues his assault. Pivoting on his right foot, Delta would kick his left foot at Null three times, from legs to torso to head before slamming it back down and attempting to unleash the rest of his stored electricity with a right straight. Triple Lightning Kick to a Lightning Straight.*
K: So be it. This is your decision! *Kalib spins his trident around with aplomb before slamming it into the ground. Leonidas appearing behind him.* K: Here come the buffs! SPARTAN ROAR!! *A multicolored light appears around all the enemies as Leonidas lets out a mighty roar. And no sooner does he finish do Joker and Gamma guard and stand behind Kalib as the light comes crashing down, Kalib taking the hits as he looks up at the flames from his weakened state.* K: Lucky me! *The flames collide with Kalib as he is brought back to full health as Gamma and Joker poke out from behind him.* G: Shiranui! Ice Age! J: Arsene! Maegiaon! *The dragon and gentleman thief appear behind the men as tendrils of darkness rise and attempt to hold people to the ground as the spreading ice approaches. The goal being to freeze them where they stand.* Ah ah ah! Watch where you're aiming! *Somebody would leap back in an attempt to have Delta strike the wires with electricity.*
Hmph.... holding us down, huh? Nice plan, but I've learned a thing or two since this trick was first unveiled. What killed the Ice Age....? Gamma being attacked! *a terrible joke, a flourish, and look at for the rain of lightning bolts! This time targetting the Fake Gamma!*
*The darkness simply phasing through him, Em is able to easily dodge the ice spreading towards him.* Ha! You're nowhere as good as the real Gamma with that! Now, take this! GIGANTOMACHIA! *Saul fading away, an angelic mask now appears on his face, and it's ripped off. His second Persona, Samson, appears behind him and immediately smashes the ground with his fists, sending an invisible ground-traveling wave of pressure out towards the enemy.*
*After two of the kicks Delta would stop and channel the remaining electricity into his hands. During this, masks would once again appear and circle around his head before a dark blue one would attach itself to his face. As long as this mask is on, ice directed towards Delta would find itself repelled back to whence it came. For the approaching tendrils, he would simply try to punch them away while trying to close the distance between himself and Null.*
N-no not curse! You two had better stop the fake from using that ice stuff! *Alice would typically fly away in this situation but the room most likely isn't tall enough to escape the tendrils by air. On top of that, she's all too familiar with curse due to it being her most common weakness and is quickly restrained as a result.* *Although she couldn't save herself, she'll certainly try to save the others as she commands Seraph to start fighting back the other dark tendrils with weak, but plentiful, blasts of bless-based magic.* At least provide cover fire Seraph!
OOC: Did Psyduck die?
(Seems that way. It is pretty late.)
OOC: It would appear as though Al Capone has fainted. RIP. IC: *Somebody would continue dancing around Delta, keeping a fair distance away.* It's funny really, you all immediately get on my back for ridding the world of sin when you all do that like it's going out of style. A bit of a double standard, no? You haven't even given me a moment to speak. *Meanwhile, the trio is assailed by the subterranean shock wave, toppling the group save for Kalib. Gamma is then struck by the bolt of lightning, shocking him. Kalib's eyes light up with flame. By this point all of the ice and darkness has faded.* K: Enough is enough! I'm not a fake and I'm done fighting my friends! *Kalib then approaches the group after mounting his trident on his back.* K: Let's just hear him out. He has a point. Hell, I would've killed Superbia if that was the only way to help Ene. So let's just calm down for a moment. *The flames in his eyes glimmer as he offers a warm smile.*
I believe it's time to put an end to this, Null... *Thousands of spears made of white flames begin filling the air as a man with a rather prideful gaze walks into the room.* This game end now... I have much more important matter to attend to then caring for an insect like you... I should have dealt with Superbia myself to avoid such a cruel fate though.
*Delta stops trying to attack Null and backs off at the sudden appearance of Hubris.* Didn't think you'd show up so early.... And as for you Null. Even if he had to die in the end, it should have been on his own terms. Not just for your gain! *Continuing to eye the spears warily, Delta addresses Hubris again.* So what are you hoping to accomplish by showing up now of all times?
*Hubris looks over to Delta but his eyes lack any interest.* I've said it before and I'll say it again, I am a savior and Null is one who would wish to destroy the potential I've been slowly rising from the masses. That in itself is already a crime against the world. Isn't that enough reason? Besides, with my plan so close to completion, I can't afford any interruptions.
*Somebody would stop kiting Delta as he snaps his fingers, causing Kalib, Gamma and Joker to implode into a void and disappear. Somebody would turn to Hubris with a grin.* Ah, the prodigal son! Always the favorite, never shunned. A good life all in all. *Somebody would look at all the flaming spears before looking back to Hubris.* Superbia shouldn't have ever existed. Your own pride got the better of you brother, and I was the one to gain from it. Granted, it was a bit more gruesome than I wanted but oh well, that's how it goes. *Somebody scoffs at the showboating.* And please, as I am now...you are no match for me. I am no insect dear brother. But I shall respect your wishes brother. I know all too well when I'm not wanted. *Somebody begins to fade and leave.* Kekeke! Savior? Oh how bold of a statement...you know exactly what we are brother, monsters. *Somebody is gone.*
*Hubris frowns at Null's remark as he looks around the room.* I believe now that, that is over it is time for you all to take your leave. Soon the sun of Pride shall shine upon this world and when that time comes, you best all be prepared... *Hubris disappears in a flash of brilliant white flames as the building begins to fade away, leaving everyone outside in the middle of nowhere.*
Monsters you say... I have a hard time believing that myself... *Delta sighs before teleported somewhere else.* I hope you're ready for us Hubris. I can't let you do as you please. *Summoning Belezebub, he takes off for his home.*
