Akemi-ya
(The lesser known inter-dimensional bar has just opened in the middle of nowhere. This nowhere being very literal as nothing surrounds the bar making it almost look like a cut out. A few scattered sakura petals can be seen littering the white floor hinting at life. Yet as far as the eye can see there is only white.) (Puffs of smoke rise out of the Akemi-ya chimney as a standard wooden open sign hangs limp on the equally wooden door.)
(A young man manages to find his way to the bar. He looks around the area, the blankness, confused, before deciding to open the door) Excuse me? Is anyone home? I seem to have gotten lost again.
A young boy in a black shirt with blue hair and eyes walks into the area. He had strange looking headphones in and looks around with a passive unphased gaze. He seems tired as if he's been through an ordeal of sorts today. He looks around as if coming out of a trance with a confused expression as he notices the white background around the bar. He then looks to the wooden door and walks up to it as the other person opens the door. "Hello? Is anyone here?"
(Upon opening the door Quattro is greeted with the welcoming scent of food and spies across from him an entire counter complete with plush chairs. occupying the rest of the space are traditional wooden tables complete with tatami mats and old style lamps. ) (Behind the counter cleaning a few glasses is a spectacled woman with long black hair and a face similar to Homura.)
(The woman almost drops the glass she is cleaning in surprise but manages to recover after a series of hand slip ups. She turns to face the two two new customers with a bashful face and waves at them.) Welcome travelers to Akemi-Ya. (She suddenly winks at the two while striking a pose.) Your new favorite bar and grill in the entire multiverse!
(Quattro thinks for a moment, before turning to the boy just behind him) Oh, thank goodness. I hadn't realized anyone else was here. Apparently this place is all sorts of messed up. Are you alright? (The young man notices the well-decorated place and smiles as he enters) Nevermind, follow me. It looks like this place is fairly normal. Oh, and don't worry about payment. I'd do anything for a fan.
Kazuya looks slightly surprised at the woman's behavior. It was by no means that unusual but she definitely seemed unique to say the least. With nothing else around he decided to walk in any way though. "Multiverse? Is that what this place is? I'm a little confused as to how I ended up here?" Kazuya looks around while returning to his usual passive composed nature. By no means did this bar seem too out of the ordinary but he was still on guard.
(The young man chuckles at the worker's antics and seats himself at the counter) Thank you for the introductions miss. Though, I'm not quite sure how I got here.... Multiverse you say? I've heard something along those lines before (The young man ponders for a moment, before straightening up and smiling) No matter, what is it that you serve at this fine establishment anyways?
Kazuya looks at Quattro and grows confused by his words. His first statment seemed normal but the second part didn't make much sense to him. "I'm alright but fan? I'm sorry but I don't really know who you are. Are you famous or something?" Kazuya decides to follow Quattro regardless. Whoever he didn't matter, it was safer to be with someone else rather than alone.
(As he looks over the place Kazuya is able to notice a lack of patrons and some dust gathered on a few of the tables. The bathroom door to the left looks a bit shabby while the grill itself appears to be active yet no one is manning it.) (The woman shifts out of the pose delicately placing her bandaged hands on the counter.) Well no traveler ... (The woman begins to fiddle with the bandages on her hands.) The multiverse is the greater set of the worlds all existing parallel to each other yet never interacting. This place just kind of happens to be the in between of all those many worlds. (She looks up at the two and sympathetically smile.) A quaint little rest stop if you will. Now as for how you got here I would assume by your own abilities. (Her eyes turn up in a thoughtful gaze as she puts a finger to her lip.) That is usually how the others arrive.
(Quattro looks at a bracelet on his left arm and thinks about it) own abilities? I don't think I have anything li- (Quattro is snapped out of it by Kazuya and smiles back at the boy, scratching the back of his head) My apologies, I was quite famous back home, but I see that doesn't really apply here. (Quattro bows to the others, smiling the whole time) My name is Quattro Vertrix, I am the East Asia dueling champion, at least, in my time, and recent comer to this..... Mixture of worlds. I'd like to consider everyone my fans, and I'm always sure to repay those who support me. I consider it my duty to spoil my fans a little.
(The woman suddenly and frantically bows at the two accidentally hitting the counter.) Ow! (She carefully rubs her now red forehead and offers an embarrassed smile.) I am so sorry travelers. Here you are calling me miss since I kind of forgot to introduce myself. (She once again bows with a bit more caution.) My name happens to be Homura Tamura ... You can call me Tamura for short. Now as for what we serve ... (She once again gets a thoughtful look on her face.) Well we have everything in the alcohol area but you two seem a tad underage. So I would recommend our famous grill which specializes in takoyaki and other delicacies.
Kazuya decides to sit down at the booth. This place seemed ordinary but he had trouble just trusting things for how they seemed, that lesson was ironed into his brain. He kept one hand in his pocket around a certain device while the other rested on the table. He looks over towards the two as he speaks. "I'm Kazuya. I'm a high school student back in I guess...my own world, though my life got a little complicated recently. Anyway, it's nice to meet you both. I still have questions about this place but I guess those questions wouldn't exactly get us anywhere."
(Tamura curiously gazes at Kazuya.) Well what sort of questions do you have about this place? I'm now kind of curious ... (She quickly bows to him.) Sorry if I am prying!
(Quattro laughs and keeps a refined air as he ponders the menu) There's no need to apologize miss Tamura. It happens to the best of us. Though, are you quite alright? Looks like you hit your head pretty hard. (Quattro briefly smiles back to Kazuya before looking at the menu) Lets see... Definitely too young for alcohol, so I think I would like filet mignon, medium-rare. Oh, and perhaps a soft drink to go with it. (Quattro turns back to Kazuya quizzically) Well, I doubt I can help answer those questions of yours, but I can at least make sure you get a decent meal. What is it that you'd like?
(Tamura straightens from the bow and once again feels at her head. She then waves away Quattro's concern.) I am fine traveler thanks for asking. This young lady has been through worse! (She huffs with pride as she walks over to the grill.) Your order is my command valued customer! (She raises he cooking instrument with finesses and then gets to work.)
Kazuya briefly looks over the menu before looking back up. He's unsure of the options here as he hasn't eaten a normal meal in quite some time. "Anything would be fine. I'm not particularly picky about anything." Kazuya looks back to Tamura and decides to try asking a few questions. "Well, I'll start off with something I'm sure wouldn't be too hard to answer for you. How exactly is it that you started working here? If this is a place between universes then does that mean that you existed between universes as well or are you from a universe of your own?"
(Quattro chuckles again and shouts back to Tamura) Alright, the young man doesn't seem to want to choose, so just get him the same thing I got. I'm sure he'll be fine.
I'll just make two filet mignons then. (Tamura takes out another slab of meat and continues her work. As her hands carefully handle the food she does spare an upward glance at Kazuya.) I was lost once just like the two of you and wandered into this place far away from my own world. (She pulls out a knife and begins chopping away with practiced dexterity.) After wandering in here I decided to take a break and sort of developed an affinity to here. (She smiles as she continues to exert energy.) Grew so fond of this bar that I never wanted to go back to my own world.
Kazuya looked down at the table pondering the idea of not wanting to return to one's own world. He could sympathize with such a line of thinking but he wasn't sure if he should stay. His memories of the last few days before coming to this world were still blurry but he still felt as if he had unfinished business back in his own world. What that business was he wasn't too sure of. He looked back up to the Tamura with another question. "Do you remember what your own world was like? I hope you didn't leave anyone important behind. Losing people isn't really fun."
(A tiny frown forms on her face as her grip on the tong tightens.) I certainly remember what my own world was like ... It was less then pleasant and .. a-and ... (Her shoulders tremble a bit) All the important people I knew died. I t-tried ... to fix things ... (She rubs a bit at her eyes with a sleeve then focuses on her work.) It just didn't work out.
The head pains start to rush to Kazuya's head once more but only lightly and thus he is able to ignore it for the most part. Something about the phrase, trying to fix things set him off in ways he had trouble understanding. The head pains grew more intense as he grabbed his head. "I think I need to use the bathroom..." Kazuya got up and walked over to the bathroom before entering, grabbing his head as the pain grew more intense.
(Tamura worriedly looks to the bathroom and shouts.) Well call me if you need anything traveler. I'll be happy to provide. (The bathroom Kazuya walks into is a single unit with a basic set up.)
(Quattro watches Kazuya leave, with an almost bored expression... He pauses for a moment, then seems to realize something and turns back to Tamura with a smile) Now now, I'm sure you did everything you could. But not everything is within our control. Besides, you're here now. That's got to be worth something, right?
(Tamura plates both dishes and drops off one dish in front of Quattro.) You may be right about that. (She gazes around the bar with a fond smile.) This place has become a home to me and hopefully it feels the same to you. (The second plate in her hands is put in front of the seat across from Quattro. She then bows to Quattro.) May you and your friend enjoy the meal. (She then straightens and makes for the door.) I need to run a few errands now but i'm sure the two of you can handle being in here by yourselves. Please don't destroy anything while i'm gone~ (She leaves the bar.)
Kazuya looks into the mirror of the bathroom as his eyes flash between their natural blue and a bright red color. He struggles for a bit as the pain begins to subside and his eyes settle on red for the moment. He walks out of the bathroom and sits back in his spot. A strange smile crosses his face as he seems much different from before, almost like another person. "So, in other words...you lacked the power to save them? Or was there another in the way that you simply couldn't overcome?"
Noticing as the girl leaves he simply looks forward with the same eery smile from before. A commanding aura seems to surround him as he looks at the plate with his piercing red eyes. "So, who are you anyway? I mean, before coming here. You act pretty high and mighty so you're probably someone powerful right? I doubt anyone acts that way without reason."
(Quattro smiles and waves as Tamura leaves) Don't worry, I'll keep my fan under check. Nothing should be happening. (Quattro glances back to Kazuya, and sighs, apparently tired) Sorry, seems you just missed her. They're leaving the place to us for the moment. Not that I mind.
(Quattro smiles again at the question, and nods) Well, of course. I am Quattro, middle child of the Vertrix family. I am the East Asian Duel Champion, which in my world led to me being quite well known..... Of course, that doesn't mean nearly as much here. All things considered, which is why I recently hosted a dinner, to make myself more well-known again. (Quattro smiles and takes a few bites of the steak) Now that I think about it. Perhaps you'd like to see what I can do? Consider it a bit of my service.
Kazuya looks up at Quattro with a smile on his face. His curiosity peaked as to what Quattro's unique talents may be. "I'm interested enough, power is everything in this world so if I could gauge your power then maybe I could become your next biggest fan." Kazuya cuts a piece of the steak with his knife and picks it up on his fork before eating the piece.
(Quattro smiles and brings out a small business card, it has an address that leads to a mostly empty construction yard on the outskirts of town) Well, I very well can't do anything in here. Especially not after that nice lady asked us not to break anything. However, perhaps we could meet here tomorrow. I'm hosting a fan event where they get to face me. There's even a reward for anyone who wins.
Kazuya accepts the business card and looks it over. He pockets it and looks back to Quattro with a smile. "Sounds like fun. I'd be happy to go." Kazuya continues eating the steak with a somewhat large amount of hunger, almost as if he hadn't eaten well in days. Of course, he still retains his manners but he consumes the meal rather quickly.
(Quattro smiles and holds his hands together) Wonderful, I'm so glad you'll be able to make it. I promise I'll do my best to give you the service you deserve. (Quattro turns to his meal and poorly attempts to hide a smirk as he eats. He retains a refined manner as he works through the meal, though it seems to be an effort for him)
(A white door suddenly appears in the middle of the bar. It appears to lead back to the original universe from which both people came.)
(After finishing his meal and wiping his mouth, Quattro looks back and sees the white door. He looks at it quizzically) That clearly wasn't there before. Whatever could be the purpose of it. (Quattro walks over to the door and considers opening it... As it seems... Familiar) OOC: Seriously, is there a catch? Would be rather unfortunate if a legit chance to return home happened to pop up right now. I'd imagine Quattro'd take it.
Kazuya looks over to the strange door with curiosity. He gets up and walks over to it while examining it. Before long he gets up and looks over at it with his red eyes gleaming. "How strange...A white door? Why would this appear here? This must be some kind of trick made by a demon to lure people to them."
(A friendly chime can be heard from Akemi-ya signaling in a new day of business. All the lights of the traditional bar and grill turn on as the front door swing open with a gentle click. It is a pretty cute scene despite the blankness surrounding the actual business.) (Inside the bar section of the shop Tamura can be seen happily cleaning glasses while humming a rather strange tune.)
*Gamma's hardly paying attention to where he's going, instead checking a small, rectangular device in his hand. He nearly walks into the outer wall before finally noticing where he is* What in the blazes? *sigh* well, I can go at pretty much anytime. No reason not to check it out. *Gamma walks in the door and sees Tamara, he ends up laughing* Is this seriously where you've been? I'll admit, I expected something more..... Dramatic. Guess I'm not the only one unable to find a cool job.
(Tamura looks up at Gamma with a perplexed look.) You have been looking for me? (She looks around as if trying to find who Gamma might be referring to. Finding no one she then points at herself.) I don't think I ever met you ... (She suddenly bows.) Sorry if I did and then forgot!
*Gamma watches Tamura for a moment, blinking* Excuse me? It was only a fe.... *Gamma seems to realize his mistake and takes a deep breath, scratching the back of his head* S.... Sorry. I seem to have mistaken you for someone else. I.... Well I hope I didn't come off as rude. *Gamma briefly whistles before making an attempt at a subject change* So..... Have any hobbies?
Oh don't worry I often get mistaken for my many identical counterparts. (Tamura smiles and takes a seat by the counter. She then folds her hands on her lap and thinks.) Well I am currently the owner of this fine place so that should give you a hint. (Her eyes widen as she comes up with something else.) Oh! I also enjoy chatting with people from different places There is so much to be gained from it. (She pats a seat next to her and looks at Gamma.) So where do you come from young one?
Wait.... You know about that sort of stuff? And you still th- *sigh, n... Nevermind. *Gamms looks around the place warily, before nervously sitting next to Tamura* D... Do you mean directly? As in "where was I last?" Or originally, as in "where was I born?" T.. There's really not much to the second one. But I was last in the Nexus.... Sort of.... Multiverse joining place. *Gamma scratches the back of his head* You probably know something about it. I guess
(Tamura maintains her smile as her eyes take on a somber tone. ) Yeah I know a bit about your Nexus ... It's where our resident Satan resides. (She awkwardly laughs.) I hope you guys are doing all right in that place. The rest of us Homuras try to avoid it.
*Gamma chuckles for a moment* We have so many Satans there the title has kinda started to lose any meaning. *Gamma sighs and looks back to Tamura* She's really not so bad, if you get to know her. At least, that's how I've always felt. *Gamma laughs again, looking st the ground beneath his feet* I've seen like, four people in the multiverse I feel I can talk to, and half of them are Homura. Weird, Isn't it?
(Tamura thoughtfully looks at the counter.) Well there are plenty of us crossing dimensions just to save one person. Can't say i'm too surprised at hearing that. (She taps away on the counter as she speaks.) Yet I am surprised that you can call the rogue one a friend. She is not exactly on speaking terms with the rest of us. She hasn't even paid a single visit to this place. Which is pretty odd.
So, what? This is some sort of hub for you? *sigh* I guess teamwork makes the search more efficient. But, well... *Gamma moves around nervously for a few minutes before finally getting the courage to speak* I've..... Kinda been hiding most of my life. After all, no one cares if something's wrong, no one really wants to know how you feel. You're just..... Expected to be fine, to be strong. She's one of the first people to see me... Without the mask so to speak. And be ok with it. *Gamma takes a deep breath to calm himself, though his voice is still shaky* Honestly, if it weren't for the both of them, I don't know where I'd be now.
(Tamura shamefully looks away from Gamma.) I think I understand. Sorry for insulting your friend ... (She then realizes what Gamma said at the end.) W-Wait both of them?
*Gamma looks up and blinks for a moment* Yes.... Both of them. There's the Satan Homura you know about, she l.... Well she saw me at a low and asked for my help, then encouraged me when I needed it. *Gamma scratches his sleeve briefly and sighs* The other one is much younger. May have slipped under your radar. She kind of saved me from a witch, Charlotte, and told me to try being more honest. Guess this is it. Oh!! Almost forgot. There might be a third. I found a feather like Satan Homura's near a house in the desert, and when I asked the one I knew about it she claimed to have never been there before.
Wait three of me in the same dimension! (Tamura groans and presses the heel of her hand into her forehead.) That is just asking for trouble. Last time a Homura meet up occurred everything went up in flames ... (She stands up and walks over to Gamma putting a comforting hand on his shoulder. She then gives a thumbs up with her free head and tears up as she smiles.) May the great Godoka have mercy on your poor home.
*Gamma shivers a little and let's out a weak laugh* I'm sure it can't be too bad. After all, I managed to mediate between the young and Satan Homuras once. Then their second meeting no one really seemed interested in starting something anyways. H.... How bad could it be? *Gamma sighs and looks back down* Though, if something did happen, not much I could do to stop them. Especially since I threw the feather away.
(Homura begins to tremble as a strange curved smile appears on her face.) Oh it can be very bad ... I suggest investing in some insurance if you own a business. (She nervously laughs as she carefully pushes Gamma out.) Oh look at the time it is getting rather late isn't it. Wouldn't want to get you in trouble or anything. (She quickly does a good luck symbol and peers at Gamma through the door.) Please don't tell the rest of the Homura's in your world about this place. I would like to have an intact bar and grill. (She then puts up the closed sign and shuts the door.)
That was..... Sudden..... Well..... I guess. *Gamma looks around at the emptiness and sighs, pulling out a small jeweled knife* I'd rather not wander for hours. So.... *Gamma slashes the knife through the air, opening a rift to part of the Nexus. He steps through the rift and closes it, leaving little evidence of his presence*
