Then the Clock Struck 1:00
*The time was around midday when it happened. The two suns of the Nexus were high in the sky with one shining brighter than the other with a strange white glow. The clock that sat atop the clockwork platform floating over the Nexus finally was approaching the 1 o'clock position. Finally, it hit 1:00. A large alarm screeched from the clock and shook the city of Shibuya itself. Windows shattered as the clock continues to ring on before suddenly stopping once more and remaining silent. The Clockwork God was standing atop the platform.* "Finally, this game of ours..." "It will begin..." "It's time to see if you can change fate, children of man."
(The young man with hair so ridiculous it must be from a card game anime hears the clock ring as he walks the streets. Quattro smirks and looks around) Wonderful, it seems the game is about to begin. I hope they enjoy the show. Consider it my first live performance.
*Aitome steps out of a rift and clenches her hand, smiling as her eyes glow white, shouting out for all to hear Hehe... now you've done it! I'll change this cruel fate no matter what! The Wandering Changer of Fate is here! *Aitome then slumps over and facepalms at what she just did, eyes stopping the glow as she whispers to herself Yep... gotta stop that... It's embarrassing...
*The young woman steps out of an alleyway and stares up towards the platform that floats in the sky, clutching her face as she does so.* Finally... I don't usually get this impatient.
*From the shadows, a returning Black Samurai appears amidst the potential calamity* What a beautiful day for a beautiful disaster. I shall observe this event with interest... *The Black Samurai stands on standby for now, observing the chain of events*
"What is this game I may ask?", Atarashii asked for an answer from the @Clockwork_God.
*The Clockwork God looks up towards the sky as it begins to darken and before anyone can understand why the sunny day is replaced with a star-filled night. The white sun remains though and continues to illuminate the night ever so slightly though it's light never seems to light anything up. Gears begin spreading out all over the city from the clockwork platform and begins attaching themselves to random buildings and objects as more metal and mechanical parts begin forming between them. Eventually, cameras and giant screens begin showing up all over the city and display an image of the Clockwork Platform with the Clockwork God standing atop it.*
"Hello, and good day to you all denizens of this mistaken world or perhaps I should say good evening now." "This was merely a demonstration though of how warped time and space truly are in this world. You see, you are all living in an error." "I am Chronos, the very living embodiment of time and the director of fate. Furthermore, I have decided to do away with this error of a world. Worry not, I will not harm anyone here but instead will simply erase your false existence. You will return to your own world with no memory of this place perfectly fine." "Now..." "Onto the reason why I am speaking to you. I have decided to give a few of you a chance to prove yourselves and change the fate of this world. We will be beginning a game of my own creation with a set of rules specifically made by me. For the first trial, I have set forth, you will all have to correct a distortion in space that I have gone to the trouble of making myself. It will be as simple as finding something in this place that doesn't belong, oh wait, that's everything..." "I'm sure you'll be able to find it though. I've hidden it away within the shopping district and lucky for you as the error persists it erases everything around it! So all you have to do is search for signs of the world being deleted. If you wish to avoid such a thing then I'd suggest finding it fast before the shopping district is completely erased." "Well, better get started before you run out of time. Remember as well, if the contestants happen to all die in the process then this world will really be out of time...Good luck..." *The signal cuts out as it now shows live feeds of the participants of the Clockwork God's game instead."
*The Black Samurai chuckles to herself upon hearing the announcement of the one who calls himself Chronos* Does the God of time have nothing better to do? Alas, this world has no needs for gods or masters. Regardless, this game should prove interesting. *The Black Samurai disappears as quickly as she appeared. When she would appear again, it would be in the alley on Central Street, near Untouchable*
(Quattro laughs and attaches a disk to his left bracelet. The disk seems to have COMP parts spread throughout it) All I have to do is find something, right? Very well, this should be fairly easy. Consider this to be my Debute as the Nexus's premier duelist. (Quattro slaps a card onto his COMP disk and declares) Now then, let me introduce Gimmick Puppet, Scissor Hands, my first assistant in this little game. (A purple mannequin, roughly the size of a human, emerges from the specialized disk. Rather than hands, it has one giant pair of scissors.) Though, its hard to spread out effectively with just one, that's why I'll be bringing my next creature. Gimmick Puppet, Princess. (By laying another card on his disk, Quattro gets what looks to be a young girl's porcelain doll to emerge. It looks around, then the trio begin their journey to the shopping district)
*After watching Chrono's presentation, the lady begins bolting to the shopping district, passing up next to the Black Samurai on her way.* Of course he'd just toy with us. I can't just get to him plain and simple can I...
Alright! Time to get started! This will be easy! *Aitome then takes a look around, not before laying her eyes on @Forget-Me-Not, and putting her hand on her forehead, getting a headache and ripping her view off of the person, speaking in a small whimper Hnng... wh-why does it hurt... did I lose another memory? *Aitome then crushes a card as she walks towards the person, a Fox with 9 tails appears and attempts to claw itself up a tower as Aitome calls out to the figure H-hey! Do I know you? I feel... a sense of... something...
"Jesus, more trouble..? *sigh* "Okay, let's get this over with, but I'm sure it won't be the end...Why am I talking to myself?" Atarashii looks upon the clocks are figures around them. Spinning, spinning and more spinning around the time. "Would the time stop if one of the gears get stuck? Or will we all die...?"
*The woman looks back to the girl calling out to her, and smiles, before resuming her focus to her run.* I'll tell you some other time, Aitome. Don't push yourself too hard thinking about it.
*The Black Samurai appears in an alley behind untouchable while Quattro, the unforgettable girl, and Aitome arrive in the shopping district. There doesn't appear to be anything here but something already seems off about the area. The air is still and everything seems quiet compared to the usual bustling shopping district. It's almost as if time has stopped but the lack of people within the area makes it hard to tell. However, in the place of people there does appear to be something but it's hard to tell what that something is exactly.* *Meanwhile, as Atarashii observes the clocks a familiar figure appears behind him. The figure is made of many clockwork pieces with a mostly metal body and luminescent yellow eyes.* "I don't recognize you. Are you a new player who has come to play my game?"
Atarashii hurriedly goes to the shopping district, "I really shouldn't waste time, and I may have to work with some people as well... We just have to find something off ", right?" As the place seems to get colder and colder through the seconds of time, it's like they are near.
Atarashii turns around to see the Clockwork God right behind them, "Ah yes, but we already have met haven't we..? But I guess I'm new to you."
(Quattro looks to the other two with a smile and gestures to his puppets) No need to worry, Princess and Scissors may not be the strongest of monsters, but they are more than capable of finding an object. Allow them to search the furthest corners, risk themselves running into a trap, while we split up to search the nearer shops. (Quattro seems satisfied with his plans and orders Scissors and Princess to search both ends of the streets for anything that seems to be causing an erasure. Of course, half of the experiment is simply to see if anything bad happens to the monsters, they are rather fragile.) Oh, in the meantime, allow me to introduce myself. (Quattro turns to the nearest camera and bows) My name is Quattro Vertrix, Dueling champion and soon-to-be savior of this "Nexus". I trust you'll all find my work to be satisfactory. I'd do anything for my fans after all.
H-huh?!? You know my name? Hmm... *Aitome then paces around for a second before returning to her business, still thinking about it before shrugging I guess I can ask her about it later, no use in overthinking it, never been my speciality anyways! *Aitome then looks above and spies a tower, drawing a short sword and concentrating, reality condensing around Aitome as she does a swift slash, cutting open a rift to the top of the tower and using it to spy from uptop Anything up here?
*Aitome shouts out from her tower to the Green Idol, waving NICE TO MEET YOU QUARTZ! THE NAME'S AITOME KORICHI! RESIDENT SPLIT PERSONALITY MORON! SORRY IF I SAY YOUR NAME WRONG! I HAVE TROUBLE WITH THEM!
*The lady's eyes begin to flash as she begins to compare the current shopping district with her last time seeing it, which happened to be a few months ago.* Hmm... the time passed since my last visit is making this more difficult... Perhaps it'd be better to use more deductive methods rather than comparative... *She begins by inspecting whatever seems to be replacing the people, observing it from a distance before getting closer to it.*
OOC: @Aitome It took me forever to figure out you meant me. I take it "Green Idol" is referring to the "Vert" in his last name and Quartz is obviously for being similar to Quattro, yes?
Ooc: Yes, Aitome has trouble with names, most famous nicknames being Succoth Bennoth into Succmeoff Benoducks, Tatsuya being called Red Coat, Yu being called Silver Hair, Gamma being called Radio Waves, Kalib being called Kebob, the list goes on.
*The Clockwork God looks down at Atarashii. His eyes are devoid of any kind of emotion but his voice seems to sound almost human in nature.* "I am always curious of new arrivals but I do not usually present myself to mortal beings. However, I decided to make an exception today for today is a good day. One where I finally begin my purge of this broken world.* *The puppets go down the street searching it but whatever is causing the erasure seems to not be obvious as of yet. Nothing of note happens to the puppets but as they come back something seems to have changed slightly about them.* *Aitome looks down on the shopping district and as she does she seems to notice something strange about the way it looks but can't quite place her finger on it. All she can tell is that it looks even more lifeless and it didn't look this way when she was back on the ground.* *The unforgettable girl begins observing the figure that's in the place of a person. From a distance, she is unable to tell what it is but as she gets closer the figure seems to turn to static in the shape of a person. The static seems to become more unstable as they get close to them.*
Hm... *At this point, the Black Samurai is grasping at hunches alone, looking for any place that would be considered significant in the eyes of the public. She then has an idea. Swiftly maneuvering her way through the alley, she enters the back of the Arcade through the emergency exit*
*After observing the one figure, she begins to observe all of the figures in the room, attempting to see where they've all bee coming from, and see if she can follow that back to the object that's causing them to be this way.*
"Hmmmm, I wonder if you can help me a bit then. I can't seem to remember my world at all you see. I'm not sure if I even belong in the world of Persona, can you help me with that? Please?" Atarashii looks at the Clockwork God hopefully, but it could be false.
Nothing obvious.... doesn't look like its out in the open... *Aitome then thinks hard and an idea pops into her head, looking directly above her in case the distortion is in the sky, Perhaps it's getting ripped into the sky!
(Quattro stands there and nods as the puppets emit a series of clicks and other noises) Alright, its very clearly not on the street itself, which means that it must be within the shops. It would take quite a while to search every last one of them, but for thoroughness sake, it would be safest. Very well, I'll simply need a few more. Lets try this one. Gimmick Puppet, Des Troy. (With a third card added to the disk, a mechanical horse, formed entirely of mannequin arms, legs, and torso, emerges from the COMP. It stands by the other two puppets and awaits orders) Very well, now it is our job to search each and every shop. We don't know what we're looking for, but there should be some sort of spatial distortion we can find soon. (Quattro holds his disk carefully as the puppets spread out, Princess and Scissor-Hands moving on the opposite side of the street, searching each store as quickly as they can, and spreading out in opposite directions, while Quattro and Des Troy do the same on this side)
*As the Black samurai enters the arcade she notices that something is very clearly wrong here. The walls and cabinets lack color and in some places, blotches of static can be seen. There is only one arcade cabinet that still has color but something feels more off about it than the others.* *The unforgettable girl notices that a majority of the people seems to have walked from the arcade. It seems the source of whatever made them like this must be there.* *The Clockwork God seems to almost scan Atarashii with his eyes. He responds with a cold impartial tone.* "I see, so that is what you seek. I'm afraid I cannot simply help you with that. Interfering with someone's fate is something I do not normally do unless extreme conditions are met where they shift from the course of their fate." "Fate, however, is something that can be changed but only by those with strong wills. I have an idea..." "If you want my aid in restoring your memories then why not beat my game? As a special favor, I shall grant you some of your memories in exchange for beating these trials but the amount I will restore depends on how well you do. Does that sound like a deal that would interest you?" *As Aitome looks up into the sky they notice that the sky is no longer blue but seems to be taking on a grayer appearance.* *Quattro's puppets search every shop until they reach the arcade which they don't seem to be able to get into. It seems something is holding them back from entering. The color of the puppets seems to have faded slightly as well.*
(While investigating a few shops, Quattro checks his disk and notices the puppets seem to have changed somewhat) Alright.... Looks like they found it. Kind of surprised they're still in one piece personally. (Quattro leaves the building he is in and finds his three puppets lined up outside of the arcade. He shrugs and makes his way over to the trio) Very well, it seems the distortion is here. Though, I'm not sure why you guys can't enter. Des Troy, try throwing Princess inside. (Quattro opens the door for the puppets as Princess climbs on top of Troy. Troy then bucks wildly, attempting to launch princess through the open door. Whatever she ends up hitting will probably crack the puppet, but either way Quattro would try to enter the building personally after this attempt)
"Okay, deal. I should try to look for distortions with the others, yes?" Atarashii looks at the shopping district, "Well farewell, for now, Clockwork God. Gotta help out." Atarashii starts to sprint towards the shopping district again, and hears some voices. Luckily, not that far away.
Hmm... this makes no sense to me... the sky is changing, the people look weird, so many things happening yet none of it helps me, grrrr... *Aitome then starts to get frustrated, pacing around with heavy steps as her eyes glow blue, trying to calm herself down as she takes a heavy breath, Well, moping about up here isn't going to help, perhaps someone else has a clue. *Aitome then draws her short sword again and cuts a rift to the floor, walking towards Quarts
(At Aitome's sudden appearance, Quattro would stand behind his puppets, Scissors lunging towards her, before Quattro realizes its ok and motions the puppet to stop) You should really give people some warning before just showing up like that. You could have given me a heart attack. Anyways, I do believe we've found what we're looking for, at the very least, something's preventing my monsters from entering this place. (Quattro shrugs and heads towards the door) Considering all the talk about not belonging I'm willing to guess Clockwork thinks this sort of extradimensional help is cheating. Oh well, I'm the one who decides my own fate anyways.
(may I join in?)
*Aitome seeing the scissors realizes that she had made her last mistake to a pair of school supplied tools, staring straight into them with fear ridden eyes, gulping and accepting her death, her life flashing before her eyes before it stops and she almost faints, O-oh! Am I still alive? Wh... o-oh o-kay... pull yourself together Ai... *Aitome then takes a few breathes before responding again, Right. So the thing is in there yet we can't get to it, well then we will just have to make our own entrance won't we! I agree whole heartedly! I won't let this place be held down by some "fate"!
*Quattro has Troy bucks Princess into the arcade no noise is herd. When Quattro looks inside the arcade he finds that Princess has not broken but rather become a staticky figure. The card reflects this as her attack and defense have also become 0/0.* *The Clockwork God waves goodbye to Atarashii before speaking to himself briefly.* "An interesting one. It seems the fate already planned out for you is quite interesting indeed. I look forward to seeing how you will influence this world or perhaps another instead." *Atarashii has now entered the main area within the shopping district as well.* *Aitome is now where Quattro is as well and is observing the same things he is.*
"Gah, I can't find anything in here, but the sky is all weird. And there's a lot of static..." Atarashii said as they rummage through area with all their might, "Junk, Junk, and more junk... Is this really fate? That means it's kinda luck based, but a lot of people are participating, so that's good. More of a chance that finding the error is someone's fate, right..?" Atarashii starts to go through more and more stores, but it end up the find a rather strange snow globe. "A snow globe? Is it really it or is it a joke?" Atarashii puts the snow globe in their hoodie's pocket, enough to fit it in.
(Quattro sighs and attempts to shake Princess into moving again while the other two dolls remain outside near Aitome. If Princess stirs he will send it out to investigate the arcade, if not, Quattro will have to do so himself. Meanwhile the two puppets outside seem to be looking at Aitome. Creepy.)
OOC: Brb, gotta go for about 15-16 hours. School sucks by the way.
*Aitome looks between the two dolls and begins to fidget around, obviously not calm as she scuttles to the side of the arcade and takes a breath, hopefully out of sight of the dolls I hope they aren't g-ghosts.. w-well... time to bust in. Just stay calm... 9 Tailed Fox! *Aitome then summons forth a card and crushes it. Summoning the fox which glows white and covers itself in hard light before crashing into the arcade wall to make a new entrance, Aitome then attempts to walk into the arcade and take a look
OOC: Perhaps we should resume this some other time. Seems like everyone has left for the moment.
OOC: Okay, and I should sleep right now, so have a good night/day.
OOC: I'm growing tired as well. If it's okay with everyone could we resume this possibly tomorrow?
OOC: Probably a good idea, I was going to be busy in the morning anyways, the rest is appreciated. And now, I sleep.
Ooc: it's cool! I'm fine restarting this another time!
OOC: Bump to see if anyone's here.
Ooc: Aitome lives!
OOC: Card boy here
OOC: *Raises hand.* Present. *Lowers hand.*
*A blue blur appears*
OOC: Alright, we can resume then. I was hoping Aratashii would show up as well but I guess they got hung up on something.
*Despite Quattro's attempt to get princess back up the doll seems unresponsive. Not only that but it also feels much heavier than it normally would. Quattro and Aitome begin looking around the arcade and notice that the interior of the building along with most of the cabinets seem to completely lack any color. Splotches of static also seem to cover the walls and seem to be growing at a steady rate. Only one arcade cabinet seems to fully have its color near the back of the wall.*
(Quattro sighs and approaches the cabinet) Seems Clockwork here has something against Puppets, unfortunate. How am I supposed to show what they can do? (Quttro shakes his head and takes out a few coins, putting them into the machine to see if it still operates) No matter, whatever this game is, its worth checking out.
*The lady follows close behind Quattro, inspecting the arcade machine with him.* If you're struggling, don't hesitate to call on me. I happen to be good at games. I can tag in if you wish.
G-game? Hmmm, ill watch for now! I don't know how to play... *Aitome then turns her attention to the other cabinets, checking inside the casing and what not
*The arcade machine appears to simply be titled Q. It has a rather simple design of purple and black and the title screen is black with simple white text. As Quattro inserts the coin the screen seems to break out into static for a second before revealing a start screen that simply states: Press start. The button layout seems simple with 4 buttons to symbolize up, down, left, and right rather than a joystick. There's a select button as well as a button in the corner that simply reads: Add Player.*
(Quattro looks at the "Add Player" button and inserts another coin before pressing it) Alright, whoever you are. You claimed to be good at games, apparently this is co operative. So we may as well do it together. I'll admit, I specialize in duels. (Quattro chuckles) And somehow I doubt we'll find any children's card games in here. (Assuming one of the others agrees, Quattro would begin the game after 2nd player confirms)
*The woman chuckles, before joining him at the machine.* Very well. Let's do this, together.
OOC: Here! Sorry for being late, gotta love music huh? Probably will be on for an hour, not gonna make the same mistake again! "Huh, what's going on the arcade? It seems like a lot of people are in there..." Atarashii walks out of a store towards the voices of the other players of this game.
*Aitome disappointed in her findings returns to the party and shrugs, staring at the screen with interest So, looks like this is the key, you better not lose! I'll see if there is anything that might help...
OOC: Well, I'm no GM, but I figure I'll do him this courtesy while he's typing up. (Outside the arcade Atarashii is able to see two figures. One is a purple mannequin whose hands have been replaced with a giant pair of shears, while the other would be best described as a horse made from varying mannequin parts, primarily torsos and legs. Both simply stand there motionless as if awaiting something)
"What are those..? Puppets? I have never seen them before, but maybe they can help?" Atarashii called to the two puppets, "Hey, have you seen anything strange at all?"
*As Quattro inserts another coin and presses the add player button the machine seems to undergo a strange transformation. However, what is odd about this transformation is not how it transforms but how it doesn't. In almost the blink of an eye, it seems as if the player just has another set of buttons on the opposite side of the first and has increased in size oddly. As the unforgettable girl joins Quattro at the machine and Quattro presses start they are greeted with a screen showing a pixelated arcade with a sprite with yellow and red hair and a white coat with yellow rims and another sprite with white hair and a black dress. Quattro controls the movement of the former while the unforgettable woman controls the latter. There are arrows pointing to the front doors of the arcade.* OOC: Thank you for the assistance, Quattro.
OOC: Gah, sorry, I messed up the time, I have to go to sleep. School was hell with under 4 hours of sleep fam. Probably will be back around 14-16 hours again, sorry! :( I'll probably bump the thread when I'm back okay?
*The lady examines their surroundings, before pressing on the directionional pad to where the arrows are pointing.* I see no reason to waste time examining the surroundings. Let us make haste.
OOC: Alright, I'll talk to you again then, then. Get some sleep and I can make sure to try to keep you involved in this plot when you're able.
Alright, well, from what I know, arrows are usually included for direction. So obviously.... (Quattro navigates his sprite to exit the arcade door) I'm going to assume it gets more complicated from here. (As for Atarashii, neither of the puppets respond in any meaningful way. They lack any sort of mouth, or eyes, or any other apparent sensory device, and if it weren't for the weird positioning you might think they're some strange person's hobby. They both simply remain there, motionless, with the horse faces towards the arcade door while the head of the one with scissors looks out into the street) OOC: No problem mate, figured there was no reason for you to have to bother with remembering the random puppets
Hmmm... This is weird... Is this some kind of simulation? *Aitome then stares at the screen for a second before turning to the door in the real world, checking for real life sprites
*As the sprites exit the arcade they are brought to an outside area not dissimilar to the area around the arcade save for the fact that this area seems to be completely devoid of color. In the middle of this outside area is a black circle that seems to be different from everything else. What's different about it is that it's perfectly round in this pixelated game and almost seems to pop out of the screen in an eerie way.* *Aitome looks over to the door but see nothing of interest. Though they see nothing they can't help but feel as if someone is whispering in their ear.*
*Rather than moving her character, the woman instead moves her hand to touch the odd circular object on the screen directly using her index finger.* Just a hunch, but... maybe.
And without arrows, we get the obviously suspicious object instead. Alright, may as well figure out what all the buttons do, to be safe. (Well, the only button left unpressed is the select button, Quattro presses it to be safe before he has his sprite approach the black circle, and hits select again) Though, perhaps only one of us should check it, in case its a hazard of some sort. (Quattro looks over to the woman and chuckles) Alright, you check one way, I check the other.
Strange... I thought that screen was showi- *Aitome then freezes upon hearing the whispers, going pale and drawing her shortsword, turning around shaking a small amount Wh-Whos there? Explain yourself!
*The unforgettable woman touches the black object on the screen. Nothing appears to result from this aside from an oddly cold feeling emanating from the screen and a chill being sent throughout her body.* *When Quattro presses select the first time a message appears on the screen briefly reading: This was a place of joy. As his character moves closer to the object the air in the arcade grows colder and the screen seems to shake slightly and become a bit darker. Pressing select again brings a new message on screen: I don't want to be alone but this is a fate I've cursed myself to.* *Aitome turns around only to see nothing. Another whisper is heard from behind her.* Whisper: "Stop the game..." *The whisper then begins breaking down into incoherent voices.*
(A chill moves down Quattro's spine as he presses select again) H.... Hello? Is there someone there? This is a.... Strange message to force through. (Quattro quickly turns to his partner) Is there anything you can make of it?
*A boy in an American Revolution rebel outfit is watching the group from a distance*
*Aitome begins to shake in her boots, pulling her sword close to get chest and responding to the voices, eyes wide with fear Wh-why would I do that! I-i shouldn't listen to ghosts! It's not real! Ghosts aren't real!
*The lady pulls her hand back, before staring at it for a second. She then turns around the looks out towards the entrance of the arcade.* Perhaps we should be focusing less on the game and more on real life. Check where this is representing, perhaps we'll find out answer.
(Quattro nods and continues with the game) Very well, I wish you luck. There's obviously more to investigate here, so I shall remain. Besides, if something did happen I'd be useless without my puppets. Thus, its probably best if I leave the real world to you.
*As Quattro presses the select button again more text displays on the darkened screen: Press Start to begin. A group of strangely distorted arrows points to the dark circle.* *A staticky figure seems to walks up to Aitome and whispers to her.* Figure: "Cursed...Don't play...Stop the game..."
"I wonder what those kids are doing." *He leans on a wall while still looking at them*
G-g-g-g... *Aitome then starts to step back from the figure, waving her sword at it in attempt to fend it off, backing up directly against the wall and falling to the floor, N-no!! G--go away! Please!
Alright, apparently I'm not getting much more out of this. Very well, strange point-and-click. I'll play your little game. (Quattro smirks and moves his figure into the obvious black void of suspicious evil. Once he makes it, he hits select again, just to be sure)
*Jiyu simply sees a group of three in an arcade. One appears to be observing the entrance of the arcade, one is shaking nervously as they look around and begin swinging a weapon at what appears to be thin air, and one appears to be playing a game on an arcade cabinet.* *Aitome swings her sword at the staticky figure but it seems as if the blade simply passes through the figure as their form begins to destabilize and they vanish.* *As Quattro has his character walk into the black void the screen suddenly bursts out into static before going dark. Suddenly the lights in the arcade as well and even the natural light from the windows. It appears that the entirety of the shopping area as been immersed in a pitch black darkness.*
*Aitome panting from the strange encounter falls completely onto the ground and lays there staring at the roof for a few seconds, dropping her blade to the side and muttering to herself Ghosts aren't real... Ghosts aren't real... Ghosts aren't real...
Alright.... Come on. Work you stupid thing. (Quattro seems annoyed as he presses select a few more times, if nothing seems to change he simply begins pushing the directional buttons in hopes of causing something or another..... If all else fails, he bends down to find the "return change" button most arcade machines have, and pushes it)
*Quattro tries pressing the select button repeatedly as well as pushing the directional pad to try and get a response from the machine. With no luck, he finally tries to push the return change button on the machine. A slight whir is heard as it grows louder and louder before sparks shoot out of the machines return slot and the staticky blotches spread to all the walls before they disappear completely revealing the dark outside which slowly becomes illuminated by a black circle in the middle of the street.*
OOC: Are my monsters still around or have they vanished/become useless? (not like its hard, these little guys are mostly cannon fodder, especially Princess)
Wh-what's happening? *Aitome then turns to Quarts and speaks out, trying to get her attention Um, did you do something? What's going on? I'm not sure that should have happened...
OOC: I'd say the other two are still alright.
(Quattro shrugs and heads to where the entrance used to be, finding Scissor-Hands and Des Troy remaining there) I have no idea what's happening, but it seems our trial is continuing. (Quattro removes Princess's card from the disk, causing the puppet to return to the COMP, useless for a while. Quattro turns to the black circle and speaks to Ai) My main piece of bait is gone, but if you'd like I can still send in Scissors, or Troy. None of these monsters matter anyways. But I'm willing to bet its a portal of some sorts. Not going to get anything useful out of sending them.
*Staticky figures begin moving towards the figure and kneeling to it as if to beg it for something. Many of them can be seen crying on the ground as the figure seems to grow and shift. A voice rings out from it as it begins to form into a more square shape.* Dark Figure: "I-I-I-I s-see n-n-now. E-e-everyt-thing is so much c-clearer to me-me like th-this..." *The figure begins taking on a much more fleshy tone as it seems to shape into a coffine with a large eyes staring at the group from the center.*
*Aitome getting flashbacks from almost dying to scissors waves the request away and walks over next to Quarts, sighing N-no! That's okay! You don't have to summon them just yet! We should figure out what this circle means thoug- *Aitome then gets cut off by the figure, drawing her sword again as her she takes a deep breath, eyes glowing red as she smiles smugly Guess I'm gonna have to beat ya up! Unless you have a better idea!
(Quattro shrugs, then looks over to the figure) Well, I'm not quite sure what's going on here. Scissors, go ahead and approach it. After all, you're expendable. (The purple mannequin lumbers towards the figure awkwardly, almost managing to trip over its hands at one point) I wonder, perhaps it would be a good idea to bring out something more.... Serious?
*The eye looks around at the staticky figure before noticing the strange mannequin approaching. The coffin itself seems to convulse for a second before opening up to reveal a line of intestines that latch onto the puppet and try to pull it into its mouth to devour it. Four human legs sprout out the bottom of the coffin as it pulls on the puppet.*
*Aitome seeing what happened seems to grow a bit disturbed, looking away to protect her already fragile mind from the horrors and drawing a second blade, wielding one sword in each hand as she stabs them into the floor, eyes glowing fully red Might wanna stand back for this one! Blazing Star! *The swords then seem to glow a bright red as 2 pillars of fire, blessed with light strike up from the floor and swirl around the figure, slowly but surely moving towards it and burning it away with bless and fire
(The Scissors clumsily attempts to lash out at the intestines, but there's really little it can do to resist, as such, it gets dragged into the coffin and destroyed. Quattro removes its card from the disk) Well, its a good thing you didn't try getting close. This looks like a fight, so I'm going to go ahead and bring out something much..... More impressive. (Quattro grins and puts down a few more cards) First, Gimmick Puppet Necro Doll comes out easily. (A short moment, and a coffin forms out of the COMP, lying on the ground. The coffin opens, and another doll, similar to one a child may use to play nurse leans up out of it. However it doesn't seem very capable) Following him in turn, Gimmick Puppet Magnet Doll. (Another figure seems to piggy-back out of the COMP with the coffin. It resembles a humanoid, though it is formed entirely from ball and socket joints) And now, we build the overlay network. (The two puppets come together and merge into a purple orb that flies into the sky.) Meanwhile, you keep it busy. (Whoever Quattro was referring to, his horse mannequin responds, approaching the coffin in turn. It nears the flames, but doesn't seem too badly scorched)
*As the fire slowly approaches the fleshy coffin it quickly closes shut and darkness back into the black substance before falling to the ground as the legs from before seem to fall off. The staticky humanoids kneeling around the coffin scream in pain as the fire passes over them before disappearing. The human legs from before start to squirm as the develop into strange human-like creature with no color to their pupils and more monstrous features. The run through the flames leaving themselves heavily burnt as one sprints at Aitome while the other tries to get near Quattro.*
OOC: If everyone's tired then we can delay this further.
What are these things? Zombies? Doesn't look like it enjoys fire though! *Aitome then uses the right blade in order to fend off the strange thing while her left blade lights ablaze, after a split second Aitome drops to the floor and does a sweep with her leg in order to try to trip the beast, spinning the right blade as she stabs directly into its head, as the left blade gets slashed acrossed its chest, hopefully setting it ablaze If you need help just call! If you can't handle a simple enemy that is!
(Quattro steps back as he finishes the summon, effectively merging his two monsters) Now, come forth the Melodius player of Heaven. ( The solid orb seems to open a hole in the sky, from which a new monster descends. It takes the form of a large, roughly twice the size of the average human, green mannequin with a red Roman Soldier's skirt. A single, mechanical wing emerges from its left shoulder, unfurling into mettalic, white feathers and a "40" brand upon it. Its chest splits into two, revealing a series of strings inside as the puppet draws forth a large sword, with a triangle cut-out in the middle. The puppet drives its blade into the ground ahead of the human-like creature that emerged from the coffin) Number 40: Gimmick Puppet, Heaven's Strings. Its about time we gave these people a show truly worth watching.
OOC: My apologies, I was searching for my previous description of number 40, I can work with it either way really.
Ooc: up to you, if you think it's for the better to stop we can, I'm okay either way
*Aitome's swords strike the monster in the chest and head before it lights on fire in a glorious burst and falls to the ground as a burnt clump of flesh. Number 40 drives its blade into the ground as the creature stops seemingly not understanding the situation and freezing up in confusion.* *As the fire around the coffin dies down it begins growing arms and legs all over its body as it uprights itself and takes on a flashy color once more.* Flesh Coffin: N-n-n-not g-g-good e-enough...NOT GOOD ENOUGH!!!
OOC: I'm fine. Was just wondering with the slow response times but I do think I'll wrap this up soon.
*Aitome whips her blades off the corpse and watches it die, checking over it Ugh... disgusting... that thing is flashing though... what could it mean! I suppose fire worked so let's burn it so ash! Flame Drill! *Aitome then puts her arms out to her sides, crouching as fire begins to charge at her feet, exploding into a mass of flaming pillars as she gets pushed into the air, spinning and directing the flames around her, turning towards the figure and blasting again at it in a fury of flames
(Quattro takes his chance to back away from 40 and bows to the nearest camera, clearly enjoying this chance) Not good enough? Why, I've hardly gotten started. In fact, the show begins now. Heaven's Strings, begin by ridding us of the nuisance. (Number 40 remains between Quattro and the creature as it drags its sword out of the ground, swinging it towards the figure. after its upward slash, 40 attempts to cleave the figure in two. Meanwhile, Troy, the horse-like mannequin near the coffin, charges the creature, strings trailing from its somewhat fragile body.)
OOC: Is 40 attacking the humanoid creature or the coffin?
OOC: 40 is attacking the humanoid, as that is the figure directly in front of it.
*Aitome unleashes a volley of flames upon the coffin causing it to burn in a mound of flames as a child-like scream can be heard from within the coffin. In retaliation it approaches Aitome and opens up as the organ like appendages begin trying to wrap around Aitome to drag her in as well.* *The humanoid monster doesn't stand a chance as 40 slashes at it before it can even react. It's split into two pieces that fall to the ground as mounds of flesh. The horse-like mannequin charges into the coffin and almost knocks it off balance but it quickly corrects itself with its many limbs as multiple limbs reach out to try and grab the mannequin.*
(Upon colliding with the coffin, Troy breaks apart, within the mannequin is a large quantity of strings, some of which attach to the coffin. The strings don't seem to hinder its movement, but are nearly impossible to remove) And now that the first one is down, Heaven's Strings, turn our gaze upon the last. Destiny String. (Number 40 spreads its single wing and quickly flies by the coffin, lashing out primarily at the organ-like appendages attacking Aitome with its sword-arm, and grabbing a few strings as it passes with its left. The Puppet stops a short distance away from the coffin, keeping a tight grip on the strings) Now then, if you wish to back away, miss Aitome, please do so. Heaven's Strings is more than capable of finishing this off.
OOC: Seems we'll have to hold this off anyway...
OOC: Yep, alas, poor PK. Slain by sleep in the end.
OOC: Well, I'll try to resume this when I can. Until next time then.
OOC: my apologies, I don’t think I’ll be able to finish this. Good luck to the rest of you.
OOC: l'm back and things are sure getting interesting! Atarashii rushes in to try to help Aitome, pulling out a pocket knife. "Hey what are you doing to them!?"
