What are your favorite games?
We've talked about your first games, but what about your favorite ones? It doesn't have to simply be a single game as well, feel free to talk about multiple games. For me, my favorites would have to be... Xenoblade Chronicles X. I know it's a fairly flawed game, the story especially, but that didn't take away from the enjoyment I had from it. It's a game I can very easily go back to and play for a long while. Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days. Now look here - I am fully aware this is a terrible game. Well... not exactly terrible, but somewhat hated and looked down on. I won't deny it, most of the reason for this one comes down to nostalgia, but I can do what I want. Kingdom Hearts 2. This is literally the first game I have ever beaten, it once again has a nostalgia factor for me - however, this time the game is actually a good one. Even though this is the turning point where Kingdom Hearts goes from simply weird to just plain insane. Maplestory. I've been playing this one for ages... I think more than 10 years at this point? Wow... well anyways. Yes, the nostalgia factor is here too, but it's actually a good game now, I swear. I was too blinded as a child to actually realize how terrible the game was back when I played it, but they actually improved stuff and made it more bearable - still grindy as all hell though. And some honorable mentions go to Kingdom Hearts: Birth by Sleep, Yo-kai Watch, Donkey Kong Country 2, and Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Sky.
KIngdom Hearts 2. First game I played on a console I actually owned. First game I 100%ed on the PS3.
Kid Icarus Uprising. Simply a grand game, the dialogue and gameplay are both really good and its just really great. Super Mario Galaxy 1&2. Great music, great levels, I never get bored with Mario Galaxy, also it introduced best Mario character Rosalina. Dark Souls Series. What else can I say, I love the challenge and experience online with random peeps and friends. I used to not like it but that changed after I beat the game. Fell in love with the series since. Kirby Triple Deluxe. I love the kirby series and the final bosses are always good, and the final boss of this game was great and the final boss theme was a good jam. Paper Mario Thousand year door. What else needs to be said. I have more but I think I got through enough
No order, just as I remember, generally earliest to latest: Yu Yu Hakusho Tokubethuen: -SNES- the game that really got me into the SNES when I first discovered it. It's only Japanese, but a very unique fighting game and still playable even if you don't know Japanese. One of my favorite animes has the perfect fighting game. Bioshock Infinite: -PC- Only FPS I've ever played, and I've played it probably 4 times now. Love the story and gameplay GTA San Andreas and GTA V: -PC- Played both of these way too much. I've played every GTA mostly, but these are the two I always want to go back to. Pokemon Y: -3DS- Game that got me to buy the system. I think it's the best looking and best setting of any game. I'd keep it forever except that it's now outdated. Pokemon games don't stay fresh for long. Fire Emblem Awakening and Fates: -3DS- Some of the best story-driven RPGs I've gotten to play. I love the characterization, the storylines, and it's an intense strategy game. My first time ever playing FE was Awakening, and it drained me just to survive a fight. Draining but stimulating. Like that long hard run you take to exercise; you're exhausted by the end but you feel great at the same time. Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask: -N64 and 3DS- I never got too much into Zelda, but I loved both of these to an extreme level, to the point of playing them all over again on 3DS. Just great games overall, not much more to say past that. Chrono Trigger: -DS- Probably one of the most enjoyable RPG experiences. Layered characters, fun story, no grinding whatsoever and actually a lot of complexity hidden beneath its lighthearted surface. Persona 5: -PS3- No need to explain here. (I'm a casual so there's a lot I just haven't gotten to play at all)

saints row 3 (and well all the saints row games really) why? because im messed in the head and i enjoy those kind of games and they feel kinda personal in some of the scenes with the characters, and bc you can make your own character i still need to play the first one :))))
saints row 3 (and well all the saints row games really) why? because im messed in the head and i enjoy those kind of games and they feel kinda personal in some of the scenes with the characters, and bc you can make your own character i still need to play the first one :)))) Huh. I actually enjoyed Saint's Row 2 but was totally put off by 3. I never thought it was a great series though, but something about 3 just really got under my skin. Tone AND gameplay wise.
saints row 2 to 3 was really different haha saints row 2 was very serious whilst 3 was really chill, i played 3 first and then 2 so i was kinda like "woah, the mood totally changed" and well, i havent played saints row 4 in a couple years (steam sale made me buy it and will prolly play it in a couple minutes) but overall 3 was prolly my favourite game from the franchise
Devil Survivor 2, particularly Record Breaker.
1. Katahane. It's not often you get a yuri game that's just the total package. This one is. Lovable characters, a bright and interesting world, a great story, and a sweet, fluffy and realistic romance. This game is just beautiful and it is just perfect to me. I love that unlike some other yuri stories, this one puts more development into the love between the two girls and the lewd stuff is just secondary. And despite being short, it means more because the passion that they have feels real. Katahane, always my gold standard. 2. Aoi Shiro. Also a lovely yuri visual novel with great characters, a clever story and a very creative take on Shinto mythology. The romance here is subtle at best and the most intimate you'll get is a kiss, but it's done so perfectly that it doesn't matter. It's so beautifully drawn, the characters are cute, interesting, badass and unique in each of their own ways. The story told is brilliant and the bonds make everything better. That being said, Aoi Shiro is also one of the most difficult visual novels in existence, and every choice you make will effect things down the road for better, or much much worse. I just love this game. I wish it got more love. 3. Persona 5. What more can I say about Persona 5. As a weird person who has also "lost a place to belong", someone who has been shot down by shitty people so much, with a desire to change everything, P5 resonated with all of me. Unlike in P2 where I cared not for illusions, or P3 where I never truly feared death, or P4 where the plot was imo messy, P5 fully pulled me in and made me feel everything it was trying to do. The will to stand up for yourself, rebel, change your life and reality and fight against cunts who do nothing but destroy people's will to live... The Futaba arc as well was very close to my heart and made me cry. Not something games can just do to me. I truly felt like a game understood and spoke to me as a person and told me go wake up and do something. This game is powerful to me and I'll always hold it dear. Mona and Futaba are also my two favorite characters in the series. Futaba is brilliant, intelligent, and reflects all the good things I see in myself. And Mona is absolutely beautiful, amazing and just the perfect being to have by your side, atleast to me. Even if the ending was a little crazy and off the wall, I love you Persona 5, thanks for existing.
Spectrobes - particularly the original, it was a nice twist on the monster-tamer concept by allowing your character to fight alongside the beings, as weak as they are, and offered highly-limited control over your monsters. Of course, a lot of the difficulty came from incompotent AI controlling the strongest characters, but it was a fun concept I was glad to have experienced Fire Emblem (or FE7, Blazing Sword in Japan) - As my start on turn-based strategy FE7 will always hold a special place in my heart, it can be enjoyed as a simple game mechanics-wise, and tells a good story that gets more complicated as you replay it and find secrets. While the final villain starts off seeming like an irredeemable monster, when you learn more about him, I couldn't help but pity the guy. Tales of Graces F - This is probably the longest game on my list, Graces is a time-sink that will take a loooong time. It has enjoyable characters and by far the best combat system of any Tales game. Plus, in the update there's a significant amount of post-game content, and another arc to help you level up to it without requiring a playthrough of the whole game again, something I MUCH appreciated.

Earthbound, Mother 3, Klonoa, TF2, Tales of Xilla, and Resident Evil 4
Pokemon HGSS (specifically soul silver, that's the one I played) Is my favorite handheld game. First Pokemon game I played, and the story, characters, and art was beautiful. I loved everything about the game. Kirby Air Ride will always be my absolute favorite game ever. Kirby is one of my favorite games ever, and I love racing games. The action of this one and the absolute sheer speed of the game was amazing in every aspect. Love it so much.
Azure Striker Gunvolt: My favorite game overall. Though it did face a couple of localization problems when it first came out, once the non-cut content came out in the U.S. it made the game a whole lot better. And I like 2D platformers. So this really succeeded Megaman more than Mighty No 9.
Whoops, forgot Danganronpa 1. Excellent character driven visual novel. Murder mystery, makes you feel like you're in the same situation as the protagonist and encourages you to dig deeper in the characters and setting each time you play. Only one I've played thus far, so can't say about the others.
Pokemon White, Black 2, Platinum, Soulsilver, and Moon: Really enjoyable games, I cried a couple times. Really addicting game once you start being a fan. Miitopia: The fuck, it made me cry and a character basically committed suicide. Pretty odd and funny for most of the time. Animal Crossing New Leaf: Moe, Lobo, and Kiki are best villagers. Pretty chill game, I love it. Tomodachi Life: I cried when a couple divorced, but a pretty chill game fam. Persona Q: It's lit fam, the only Persona game I ever played. Mostly because I don't have a PS4/PS3. Note: All games mentioned have great music

Pokemon Colosseum & XD- They were the first Pokemon games I had played with a focus on story and it was just really cool. Plus the Shadow Pokemon idea as a whole and catching other people's Pokemon was pretty cool too. The lack of wild Pokemon is disappointing, but at the time, I honestly didn't mind that much. I also had a lot of fun with XD's training battles and bingo cards. Tales of Berseria- Easily my favorite Tales cast ever. Unless you count Bienfu, there's not a single character I dislike even a little. Velvet also became one of my favorite video game characters ever. Watching her get broken down actually got to me. But the biggest reason is of course, Tunnels. DBZ BT3-As far as DBZ games go it's honestly overrated as hell and I much prefer Xenoverse's mechanics, but I still have a blast overtime I go back to this. It's just some good fun. Pokemon BW 1 & 2- First main series Pokemon games with a focus on story and it was actually really good, though BW 2's was a bit weaker. It does make up for it with PokeStar, which is surprisingly fun, and PWT. Gen 5 also has a very underrated Pokedex. It has freaking America the Pokemon for crying' out loud. Tales of Vesperia-First Tales game I played. Loved the gameplay and it's still my favorite out of the Tales games I've played. Love the art style and I wish Bamco would go back to that. The story isn't as great going back, but it's still not bad Spiderman 2- My first open world game. And Spidey is my favorite super hero of all time. I just loved swinging around New York and beating up bad guys. It was also funny as hell. InFamous 2- Not a whole lot to say other than I just enjoy the hell out of it every time I play and like going between good and evil. Gears of War 3-Second shooter after Halo and the first one I actually spent time playing. Still a lot of fun even though I've never been online. Also Cole. Kid Icarus:Uprising- Loved the characters. Loved the gameplay. Loved the complete disregard for the 4th wall. Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker-My first(console) Zelda game (it was either this or LttP on GBA). I absolutely love the art style and I love just riding around on the sea and coming across the all small islands. The other characters are great too, especially Ganondorf. The only thing I hate is, of course, Tingle. That thing can go die in a house fire. The Wonderful 101- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZKUrWCXuuXQ And of course there's Persona 5, but I think I've mentioned that a number of times.

Persona 5 - I can honestly switch out 4 and 5 equally, I love them both so much. Witcher 3 - The atmosphere, combat, and lore of this game are phenomenal. I hadn't heard of the series prior to this installment, and I must say 3 is such a damn near perfect game. I was drawn in almost immediately Mass Effect 2 - I'd put Mass Effect 3 here because it's a damn near perfect game, apart from the ending. Now the ending to 3 doesn't ruin the rest of the game for me, but as a whole I have to give it to Mass Effect 2. Last of Us - What an emotional rollercoaster, then again I say that about most of the games on here. I was really late to the party in playing this game, but it certainly lived up to the hype. I was so emotionally attached to Joel and Ellie, and absolutely fell in love with the game. Nier/Nier:Automata - I remember when I played the first Nier back in 2011, that game held such a special place in my heart primarily due to the story/characters/music. When they announced automata I was completely blown away, and it absolutely blew the first game out of the water in terms of combat. The story and music are pretty much on par, sometimes even better. That's my top 5, and with the exception of a few of them, sometimes I switch out a couple games. Here are some other games I love: Fallout 3, Jet Set Radio, Yakuza 0, Fable, Sonic Adventure 1/2, Bioshock Infinite, Animal Crossing, MGS 3, Dishonored 2. Oh and I need to give an honorable mention to the Sly Cooper and Ratchet and Clank games.

Persona 5 -It was my second platinum and I played it for the entire summer. The game is astounding and currently my absolute favorite. Middle-Earth: Shadow of Mordor -I first got this game for my brother as a birthday gift, and he told me I HAD to play it. At first, I didn't enjoy the game, but as time progressed, I fell IN LOVE with the game, and it was my first platinum. Dark Souls 2 -No, I didn't put the wrong number. Dark Souls 2 was there for me during a depressed time, and it actually most likely saved my life. It isn't my favorite for gameplay and stuff of the sort, but how sentimental it is. Kingdom Hearts 2 -I originally had the game when I was a kid. I actually managed to beat Sephiroth when I was younger. It truly is currently the best KH game right now. Uncharted 4: A Thief's End -It was one of the first Playstation 4 games I got for the console. A friend got it for me for Christmas, and it is highly addictive. The story is actually the best story in any game I have played.
1. Persona 4 Golden: First persona game I've played. I got the true ending on the first play through and am going back to do an Izanagi only run 2. Hotline Miami 2: I have 60 hours in this 4 hour game. Have A and S ranks on every level and absolutely ADORE the colors. 3: Sonic Adventure 2: Even though im only 15 and grew up in Sonics dark ages, i love this game to death and is the reason i continue to call Sonic a good series. Lets hope Sonic Forces is any good. 4: Kingdom Hearts 358/2: I always remembered watching my older brother play KH2 on his PS2 since i was little, and this game was the only KH game i played and finished. It also helps me understand the story a bit (idk how) 5: Jet Set Radio: SOOOO visually appealing. Weird story all in all, but the colors are great, the gameplay is fantastic, and boy do i love playing as Yoyo
huniepop
So in the order of which I can actually remember them, my top 4 games of all time: 1. Bloodborne- As someone who tried the first Souls game, gave up on it an hour in, and thought "well fuck that shit" was a legitimate way to combat these games, I wasn't looking at gameplay when I bought Bloodborne. What sucked me in was its style, and admittedly I never thought I would beat it. Lo and behold, the style brought me in and the gameplay, narrative and overall challenge kept me going even to beat it. 2. Spider-Man 2/Web of Shadows: Already cheating but in most ways I can't separate these two, they both hold the same amount of love in my heart, one for being one of the first games I've played and enjoyed with my personal hero as the star, and two because it feels like the best Spider-Man game to have come out and features a whole slew of characters including best Villain Venom, and Best Girl Black Cat. 3. The Room 2 (IOS): Sooooo yeah. I'm gonna get flak for this because it's an IOS game, but honestly it is just so good! The puzzles are difficult but reasonable, fun and very interesting. The atmosphere is just dripping puzzle horror, and for those of you that have played it, the card room is one you'll always remember as freaking you out. Sure the first one started it and the third one continued it, but the second one perfected it. 4. Pokemon Mystery Dungeon Explorers of Sky: The feels this game brings man. And this game has a special award in my heart. Being the only game ever to make me cry waterfalls. It may not seem like much, but I am very emotionally distant from most games I play, so the fact this one broke my icy heart is amazing.
1. Zelda, pretty much any. Due to being a fanboy 2. Spyro The Dragon - My first game as a kid, and still my favorite, I bought a PSP Vita solely for playing this one game at any time I wanted. It's a collect-a-thon without too many gimmicks, the gameplay never changes, so you always know what you can do at any given time, and the levels are both short and easy..... Except Mystic Bog, Your 3 frame frog attacks can go die. 3. Megaman Battle Network 3: White - The first game I ever 100% completed, it's got a fun, interesting, and creative battle system and a nice story. 4. God Eater, Only when playing multiplayer though. 5. Left 4 Dead 2, i.e. the only gun game I'm decent at - I haven't played it in a year, but it's STILL my game on steam with the most hour's logged.
1. Kid Icarus Uprising - My favorite game of all time. While it's controls are a bit awkward at first, the game is still incredibly enjoyable, and worth every 3DS owner's time. Though, in my opinion, this game is much less enjoyable on an XL. The larger, and therefore heavier device makes playing it a bit annoying. 2. Pokemon BW and Pokemon B2W2 - Hoo boy, I never have enough time to praise these games. Aside from being the height of my attention to the series, I find the fifth generation as a whole to be extremely enjoyable. Anyways, give me a few months, and maybe I'll be able to pick a winner of the two. 3. Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadows of Valentia - Not the best entry in the series gameplay-wise, but easily the best story and character-wise within the last few years of Fire Emblem. Now I love Awakening and Fates, the former being my first entry into the series with a special place in my heart and the latter having the amazing Conquest route (And Ophelia), but SoV has it's own qualities which make it honestly shine over those two in everything but the gameplay. Mainly the map design, which is absolutely atrocious in some places. Also, both Path of Radiance and Thracia 776 are pretty damn close behind SoV in terms of my favorite FE. Both are stellar, although I really recommend you don't go into Thracia 776 blind. Honorable mentions: -Pokemon Sun and Moon -Animal Crossing New Leaf -Okami and Okamiden -Halo 1 (Good, juicy nostalgia... I should play it again sometime.)

The writing in FE remains my favorite aspect of it, but I REALLY did not get into Valencia's game play at all, despite actively trying to. Should I still give it a try? I did love all of Awakening and Fates.

-Super Mario Galaxy -Fire Emblem Fates -Persona 5 -Red Daed Redemption -Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild -A Link to the Past -Earthbound -Danganronpa 1 and 2 -Mega Man 2 -GTA V -Binding of Isaac Just to name a few
Persona 5 - because futaba, but seriously i love the game's story and characters, the gameplay is pretty good Kh2 - i love the kingdom hearts series for it's gameplay (mostly because the storyline is a complicated mess) and i think kh2 perfected it with drive forms Skullgirls - my favorite fighter of all time because i love the artstyle and gameplay,my mains are big band and robo fortune and i sometimes use beowulf
