Of Jewelry and Swine
[There's a storm gathering over the small, old town. The black clouds make the sky darker than ever. Only a single, foolish person stands out in the windy streets: a jester, holding a bag and a letter.]
"So our grim reaper has called for another mission so soon? What fun~"
OoC: That a small sequel to the previous thread?
ooc: This is a series of many open threads, so technically yes
OoC: Okay then back to where we left off
IC: *Ruka looks at the jester in the bar a confused look* Killed by whom?
ooc: This is a timeskip to next day, so...
[The jester waves to the young lady inside the inn.]
"Hello there! I apologize for our last chat being cut short. But anyway, killed by the monsters, of course!"
The man wanders the streets, not even phased by the storms around him and glancing about curiously.
"Great, another new part of the Nexus... Just what we needed around here right?"
Before he can ponder what exactly this one is Tatsu hears the Jester saying something about a mission and looks him over.
"Oi! You said someone needs something done around here right? I'm curious what exactly this job might be... So he still hiring?"
He absently flicks the lighter out from his pockets, staring at the flames with a grin on his face.
Monsters? I hunt those. Can you give me some intel?
"My, a brave lass! But your bravery is misplaced. These are horrors dwelling within... ah, might as well explain to the kind sir over here while I'm at it..."
[The jester takes out a map from the bag, and opens it with a flourish.]
"The gentleman of noble birth that lives in the mansion up there is gathering heroes for a quest into the monster-infested Warrens. There's great rewards, but also great risks! Should you succeed, you are apparently promised both wealth and the joy of freeing this place from a terrible curse!"
[The jester bows, satisfied with his performance.]
A very hard-boiled looking man continues to paddle down a river that seemed to never end. He let's out an exasperated sigh as he dips his oar into the water once more.
"I doubt I made a wrong turn...so I guess I just keep paddling down this river."
Something about the atmosphere felt heavy and unwelcoming. Sweat begins to form along his brow as his eyes begin darting around at every little thing that moves.
"Those lookups better be worth it."
Tatsuya stares at the map for a moment, quickly taking note of the mansion's place upon it, with a shrug he nods the Jester and heads off for his new point of interest. For some reason letting this kid run off alone seems... Unwise at best, so he walks slowly enough it'd be easy to follow.
*Shinji walks out of the inn*
Yo! We havin' another raid toda-
*He smiles as he sees Tatsuya*
Hey! It's been forever. How ya doin'?

Roused by the call for adventure, the contents of a nearby tankard pours itself over the brim and off the table to come to a mostly human form.
"Monster infested you say?" it gurgles. "I would quite enjoy a good meal and some exercise after such a restful nap. Monsters happen to satisfy both those needs. Where again did you say to offer service?"
*Dio follows Akamoto out of the inn then looks at the sky*
"Damn, the clouds are so black."
[The jester stares at the... thing for a solid five seconds, then raises a hand.]
"Hey, barkeep, can I get a drink? I'm too sober for this."
[Tatsuya easily finds the mansion, the biggest building in the small down. It used to be a sight to behold, but time and the curse has weathered it down to a sorry-looking building. A man steps out of the double doors and nods at Tatsuya and his companions in greeting.]
No answer then. *Ruka leaves and explores this new part of the Nexus*
Tatsuya looks at the man before him and rubs his chin in thought.
"Hmm have we met before... I can't seem to recall anyone like yourself, sure ya aren't getting me mixed up with another bastard in red?"
He grins at Shinji as his voice betrays obvious sarcasm, it'd be pretty hard to forget the guy even after so long.
"Kidding aside I'm doing pretty well honestly man, things have been fairly quiet around the place... Well there's that Fake Kalib running around, but beyond him? The Nexus has been pretty peaceful."
He glances over Dio, what an odd outfit for someone to wear... Then again considering what he'd call normal that's a little off to say.
"Anyways yeah I'm pretty good. And uh hey there guy I don't know, name's Tatsuya Suou. Am I to guess you go by Dio judging from your taste in clothes?"
Observing the other patrons make their way to the mansion, the slime manages the closest to a smile it can manage at the jester and makes to follow suit melting into a puddle as it goes.
Shinji nods in respect to the man before turning to Tatsuya
Fake K? Guess I've been missing a lot lately.....
Facing the man again
So, where are we headed today?
[The man glances over the group. One new person, two old, and... he wasn't even going to question the slime at this point. It was harmless for now...]
"This should work... I think the jester told you what you need to know, yes? He should have the things you need as well... All I need you to do today is to scout out... this place."
[He pulls out a map from his cloak, unfolding it and pointing at a spot labeled "Warrens."]
"It has something imperative to stopping the spread of the curse in these lands. You won't leave unrewarded, of course."

[Ruka wanders down a path into the forest. She passes by a river, which... has somebody rowing in it?]
*Dio turns to Tatsuya*
"My real name's Diego, but people call me Dio. Also what's wrong with my clothes? They seem pretty normal."
Huh? Who is that? *She looks carefully at the person in the river* I mean, it is normal to row a river, bit this seems a bit off...
Welp, I'll bring up the rear of the party, like always.
Turns to the rest of the party
Who's gonna lead the way? Be tactics leader and stuff like that?

Shinji remembers something and looks at the Mansion owner questionably
And what ever happened to Badu?
"Badu? She decided to sit out on expeditions for a while. Something about realizing she was not a 'lady of combat.' She has resolved to help create new substances and heal any diseases you may get, though."
[The man doesn't seem too worried about this. It's as if he almost expected something like this.]
"Hmm? Nothing wrong, just don't see names in golden letters most of the time is all, or at least I don't see that much."
He glances at the map before them, quickly taking stock of any notable things printed upon it,
best to get an idea of the area around them before leaving.
"Alright sure, I guess we can take a look at this. Anything we should know before heading out into the place? I'm not a fan of surprises after all."
He raises an eyebrow at the owner, face showing he doesn't quite think they've heard everything yet.
"I will take the front." bubbles the green blue puddle around the parties feet, rising slightly to become little more than a lump in the road. " It will be easier to consume the beasts from the front."
"Well, first off, I gave everything you need for the trip to that jester by the inn. Second of all..."
[He hesitates, trying to find the right words.]
"...You'll probably face a lot of pigs, to put it bluntly. Although our... slime friend shall find them tasty, even if they are monsters."

[The boat person rows away because they left ooc I guess.]

Shinji just leans against a wall, listening to everything and everyone as he watches the dark clouds roll past
"It is almost time for the divide. I must feed" sputters the slime. Glancing a few moments at the map it begins oozing its way toward the warrens.
"Well having things like golden letters on hats is normal in my world."
*Dio looks over at the liquid person*
"I could only imagine how you're going to consume our enemies."
"Pigs? Afraid I haven't a clue what those might be in the context of monsters, and that pause in your words tells me they aren't just normal pigs hmm?"
Flames seem to shimmer around the man's body as he stares at the owner, obviously waiting to hear more about these things before setting out.
"Same as you. Acid. Only sentient and not contained in any abdomen" the slime babbles. "and how rude of me to not introduce myself. I am called Prota."
[As the slime passes, a slightly-drunk jester hands it the bag.]
[The man nods.]
"That's right. They're mutated beasts that have a hatred of man. For animals, they're surprisingly organized. I suggest you be cautious, and retreat if you feel the need to. As I said, all you need to do is scout out the place and find the 'center' of the Warrens' corruption, if you can."
"I see then, understood we'll be sure to take care of what we can."
And with one final nod the man sets out, walking slowly enough the others can follow if they wish. The man's eyes look ahead of him as he walks towards these Warrens, hopefully they don't find any foes on the way... But best to check regardless.
Shinji quickly snatches the bag from the Slime made of acid, in an attempt to prevent it from destroying it and everything inside before following Tatsuya

*To the others, it looks like Dio is teleporting his way to the warrens*
"It is for the best" Prota agrees. " I am not yet an old enough slime to control what I do and do not dissolve very well. It is one thing to not dissolve anything yet to break my surface tension, another to carry it within me."
[As the four head out, their journey is surprisingly undisturbed. Ominous, but still lucky for them. They approach a hole in the side of a hill after climbing a short flight of stairs. The interior is dark, and doesn't have the most pleasant smell.]
He draws a blade from his back as flames burst up upon it, sending light around the room as Tatsu glances around as the light flickers and reveals some of the area to them. In specific he checks walls floors and ceiling for any traps, making sure to hold his arm up in a stop motion untill he's done.
Shinji takes his place at the back of the party
So, Sli-.. Prota takes point I guess, I'll be taking up the rear, anyone wanna volunteer for leader?
Or are we just gonna go in and do whatever feels right?
Prota comes to a stop in the center of the room stilling his fluid mass to feel the air and ground for strange vibrations.
[The walls are a combination of dirt and stone. Aside for a single grate halfway down the hall, there's nothing of note. Prota can faintly feel water flowing near where the grate is.]

*Dio lights matches to light the room up a little more*
"Usually enemies show up when we enter dark rooms, so be ready for anything guys."
Avoiding the grate Prota begins to ooze down the hall feeling along the base of the walls for any break that could accommodate him .
Tatsuya eyes the grate warily, perhaps there's something off about it? Or just a monster hiding inside. As the man looks he speaks absently.
"I guess if nobody objects I can attempt to lead, not like I expect anyone to stay organized but should be interesting trying for a change."
He turns away from the grate to give Dio and Prota a glance.
"On that note mind a basic rundown of what you two can do? I'm already familiar with Shinji but it'd be best if we've all got an idea of each other's skills. I mostly deal in fire magic but I've got... Earth, Water, Electric, and some others. Along with guns explosives and my sword. I'll allow Shinji to explain his."
And with that assuming the grate check told him nothing Tatsu sets off forward, walking slowly and quietly as he urges the rest to follow suit. Best to not be heard coming if they'll get in a fight.
[The walls are worn down, but have very few cracks around here. There may be more gaps farther in, although here, Prota's only option would be to either go through the doorway ahead or slide into the grate.]
[As Tatsu steps through the doorway, he's greeted with doors to the right, left, and front of him. There are no creatures, thankfully, but there's something else of note: a rectangular stone slab, sitting upright with a short wooden pole on either side.]

*Ruka tries to get the attention of the person on the river* Hey you! Can you come here for a second?
Meh, I'm mostly a sniper that uses Elemental ammo. I have magic, but it's not as powerful as it used to be. I also have a scythe for close combat, but I much prefer to keep my distance, hence the rifle and my insistence to stay in the back of the group.

Shotaro perks up at the sudden call to him. In his daze he seems to have found himself somewhere with people. With a grin, he'd row up to the shore and call out to the girl.
"Why hello there young miss! How can the great, hard-boiled detective Shotaro be of assistance?"
He takes off his hat and holds it to his chest as he speaks.
Sliding under the door Prota bubbles to the others of has moderate shape shifting ability and the fact that he is and acid slime capable of dissolving most anything save the densest of metals and for some reason wax. And of his fear of himself dissolving in water for he heard tales as a young puddle of slimes that had entered lakes and rivers never to be heard from again.
"Oh, I have a variety of weapons like, my revolver, these matches, and throwing knives. I can also stop time with my stand, THE WORLD."
*Dio follows Tatsu into the doorway*
The man steps up and around the slab on the ground, carefully checking out each door for anything amiss with them. Along with the rest of the room of course.
"That slab looks pretty screwy, it seems obvious but just steer clear of the thing alright? Now then which door should we take here hmm? If any have traps at least we can count those out... Maybe."
And a can of gasoline, Don't forget that, Hella useful in the last fight.
Shinji examines the rectangular slap
What is this? Some kind of monument?

[The doors are wooden, and the hinges are rusty, but they seem like they should work just fine.]
ooc: Also, Prota is cool. Just saying. So good job buddy.
Detective? I didn't expect one rowing down a river with a boat. Also I am not requiring any assistance.
The man shrugs and goes through the door on the left, really no good way to find out what's around other than by checking into them sadly. regardless he walks forward slowly as before, and looks around whatever area they've ended up in this time.
[Tatsuya's flames illuminate a few thin strands. They hang from the ceiling, and some even stretch between the walls.]
[Shinji can't make heads or tails out of the slab.]
He puts his hat back on his head before speaking.
"Well you see...my partner told me that a river led him to an interesting group and so I decided to investigate. Pretty impressive I know, but that's just what..."
He runs his right index finger along the brim of his hat as he hops out of the canoe.
"...hard-boiled detectives do!"
"Shall Prota check right?" the slime asks already slipping beneath the doors planks. stopping on the other side to check vibrations.
Meh, Guess it wasn't really all that notable in the end.....
Shinji follows the others, keeping an eye out behind him for any ambushes
*Dio looks at the slab*
"What would happen if we break it?"
*Ruka remembers seeing that weird bunch at the bar* An interesting group? Hey, may I join you on that?
Tatsuya looks at the strands for a moment before Apollo bursts forth in flames, a ball of fire growing in the Persona's hands, meant to shed more light the area. Tatsuya himself drops into a fighting stance, a small jet of flame bursts from his left hand towards one of the strands between wall before he puts both hands back on his sword.
"I don't like whatever that webbing is, if we're lucky whatever made it isn't around but I'm not betting on that in here."
He scratches his chin for a moment.
"I don't mind, but I've yet to see anyone other than you. So I don't know if this river is going to lead me to them..."
*Dio shrugs and follows the others as well*
[The flames illuminate the area, revealing multiple webs spread along the hallway. Proto can feel vibrations from somewhere. They're faint, and he can't tell if they're coming from the floor or the walls.]
We can only find out if we follow the river. My name is Ruka by the way. Nice to make your aquaintance
Shotaro gives a grin before stepping back into the canoe.
"Well then, Ruka, it's my pleasure to have you aboard!"
He reaches a hand out to her to help her into the boat.
The ball of flames expands in Apollo's hands, rather than keeping form it shifts into a beam and blasts straight down the hallway aiming to burn up as much webbing as possible, Tatsu himself simply looks on at the webbing to see if anything comes out of the burnt husk,
"Alright now's about the time something should happen if I had to guess... Hopefully whatever made these isn't too small."
Curious. Prota slimes back to the slab arranging himself around two of its edges, careful not to allow his tension to break, hoping to determine if, as he suspects, the entirety of these caves is sat atop an underground river.
Shinji watches the walls and behind them as Tatsuya burns the room, looking for any movement
*Ruka nervously grabs his hand and almost slips, but still got a grip. She then reached the boat's inside* That was close! Thank you!
*A strong invisible force stands behind Dio while he looks at the webs*
"Well you never know, it could be small."
"No worries, I'm used to dealing with butterfingers."
He pushes off from the shore with a laugh before dipping the oar once more. He slowly starts to head deeper down the river.
[Prota, atop this solid rock, feels faint movement from below. It has a different feeling than the other spot, though. It's as if the direction of the water isn't consistent in all spots of the Warrens.]
[The flames burn away, and an angry screech is heard... but not from ahead. Safe from the flames, four spiders drop down from the ceiling directly above Tatsu. The two green spiders sink their poisonous fangs into him, while the two orange ones scurry towards their burning webs.]
Shit!
Shinji pulls out his Grimoire and pushes a blast of wind towards the spiders, not strong enough to cause damage, but certainly strong enough to push them off Tatsuya

Where do you tink it will lead us? The vast ocean? A giant bottomless pit where no soul ever returned from? Oooh, maybe a magical dimension yet uncovered?
"I believe the goal was people. Adventure sounds nice but let's focus on finding that group before we find any of those other options."
He pauses for a moment.
"Do you know anything about the local ecosystem? I don't like the feel of this place at all."
"Hmph, so they aren't small."
*THE WORLD charges towards the orange spiders and tries to punch one of them*
The Persona floats back a bit as Tatsu sighs, flames bursting up in it's hands once again, this time simply covering the man in them entirely for a moment as a silver revolver appears in his hands. He takes aim at one of the orange spiders, to be exact the one that Dio isn't attacking.
[The green spiders fly off, forcing the orange spiders to leap out of the way. One orange spider is knocked against the wall by an invisible force with a splat, while the other is shot right through the head. Apparently, these things aren't that durable. Just annoying.]
[One of the green spiders sinks its fangs into Diego. The other snaps at Shinji, but misses just barely.]

[The river eventually takes the two towards the open ocean. A sea-weathered cave can be seen in the distance, and some creatures swim in the murky water.]

Shove off!
Shinji draws his scythe and slashes twice at the green spider that snapped at him
torn between feeding and curiosity, Prota flirts with its fear of the potential danger benneth the slab and allows itself to flow over one corner and begin to dissolve the stone.
"Get off of me!"
*Dio pulls out his revolver and tries to shoot the spider two times with it*
"Okay Hyperion time for Salvation!"
Rather then attacking once more the man decides that letting likely poisoned bites go untreated would be fool hardy, Apollo gives way to a figure made entirely out of light as a healing wave washes over the party. Curing both damage and other effects as Tatsu looks on.
The ocean, huh? Wait! Look! There is a cave!
The man notices the creatures and does his best to avoid them as he rows towards cave. With his free hand he'd reach for a small device from within his jacket and fasten it to his waist.
"Be ready, Phillip."
W-who?
[The green spider is shot, falling limp to the floor. Its companion barely survives the scythe blow and runs towards the door the group had come through, trailing a green liquid.]
[The Salvation is weaker than Tatsuya expected, but it's enough to cure the poison and restore everyone's energy. Lucky him.]
[The old stone dissolves slowly, and the chains attached to it clatter to the floor. It eventually gives way to the dirt and stone below.]

[A few dark shapes bump against the boat, shaking it, but still move lazily through the water.]

Bewildered by the sudden burst of light from the doorway Prota splashes to the floor below and pools amid the debris of stone and chain. Feeling for the vibrations around it.
Shotaro remains still before rowing. Allowing the things to pass by.
"Ah! Sorry! I was just asking a friend to give me strength! Don't worry about it."
As the rocking stops, he continues to paddle.
Huh. Alright, lets head to the cave then.
You ok Tats?
....... Aww heck, Of course you're fine.
Shinji's scythe vanishes
Sorry, that was my fault, I wasn't watching enough.
*Dio spins his revolver then puts it back in his holster*
"We all should of been paying more attention it's fine, for now let's just make sure this doesn't happen again everyone... Tch, healing ain't working right either. What a lovely place isn't it?"
He sighs and checks to see if his foe is gone for good, assuming the thing went awayTatsuya walks forward slowly making damm sure to check the walls ceiling and floor from now on. As he walks the gun vanishes just as quickly as it appeared.
"Regardless of this not being good at least I think we learned something here, now come on I don't wanna spend all day in this place or something."
[The vibrations are clearer to Prota now. He can feel water flowing towards the west. He's a little distracted by the sudden appearance of an injured, oversized green spider.]
[The flames on the webs die down, revealing a door at the end of the hall.]

[The cave is dark, almost too dark to see. The current is their only guide among the shadows and occasional splash of some creature.]
Shinji runs to the door, then cracks the door and peeks in,
Thankful for the ability to see somewhat well in the dark

[The room inside is empty. Ominous, but perhaps lucky.]
now more reassured that no danger is present Prota throws himself at the newly arrived spider with the sudden violence of a lightning bolt enveloping it entirely absorbing its mass as it dissolves and growing in size.
In spite of it looking empty Tatsu still checks the Damm celling, no one ever thinks to do that after all. Once he's done with that the man looks over the rest, searching for a door or something he can move forward with.
OOC: 100 post!
The next room looks empty guys, shall we go on?
*Dio suddenly appears in front of the door*
"We could've just cut down the spider webs and then entered the next room."
*Dio enters the next room*
[The next room is empty as expected, with a door leading to the right. Said door is wide open.]
[As Proto happily devours the spider, he realizes that he's alone. Better catch up!]
Don't worry detective, I have an ability. *Ruka spawns her keyblade and engulfes it with a fire spell*
Shotaro is completely caught off guard by the blade and fire.
"But now we're sitting ducks with a bright red, fiery target on us Ruka!"
stretching up out from the hole, Prota oozes through the open door, greedily devouring the corpses of the fallen spiders in the corridor and growing as each dissolves. catching up to the rest of the party he bubbles about the strange flow toward the west and the room beneath the slab.
I can fend it off if neccessary. No worries.
Shinji follows behind, watching their backs and noticing Prota, gesturing to it to have it join them
Yo guys, Prota coming up from the rear, seems he's not being followed by anything.
[Prota has joined the party!]

[As soon as Ruka says that, something taps her shoulder. A tentacle from above.]
Shotaro shakes his head as he prepares for battle.
"You're up hot stuff! Show me what you can do!"
"Where the heck did you go? Well whatever at least you're alright, anyways on to the next door now?"
Tatsu begins checking the doorway for anything off, just because it's open doesn't mean there aren't traps. Assuming he found none though he'd then go through said doorway and take a look around the next room.
*She cuts the tentacle from the body of the creature. She then picks up the tentacle* Ew! So slippery! *She focuses the flames on her blade at the tip and shoots it at the creature and misses intentionally* I hope this will scare it off!
*Dio just looks at the doorway to the right and walks over to it*
"Well, this has to be an obvious trap."
[Tatsuya finds nothing but rust, and opens the door. The hallway has some wet spots, almost like tracks of an animal that just stepped in a puddle. Propped up on a wall with some sticks is a sheet of stretched skin. Something is written on it.]

[Screeching comes from above. The cavern shakes, and many more large tentacles shoot down, picking up the boat in one swift motion. It's hard to see in the darkness, but they're probably at least fifteen feet in the air now.]
This place honestly seems more creepy than dangerous, even those spiders only got us cuz of an am-.....
Shut up Shinji, don't tempt fate...... just keep an eye out for enemies from behind......
Did anyone else just feel the cavern shake?

The man glances around the room, checking if what exactly made those tracks is around... Or on the ceiling.
"Somehow I don't think we've seen the worst of it Shinji, now then who wants to go look at writing!?"
Tatsu scoffs and assuming his search revealed nothing walks close enough to read it... While remaining as far as he can, wouldn't do to assume anything here is safe after all. The notable shaking of the place is in fact slightly worrisome.
"I'm pretty sure everything in the damm place felt the cavern shaking there. What's doing that can't possibly be good so hopefully it stays the hell outside."
growing more voracious with every feeding Prota sloshes into the room, tasting the pools as it passes in the hopes of blood and and gore to further swell its size.
[The writing is in another language, but the strange symbols are still disturbing. And... now that he thinks about it, this seems a lot like human skin...]
[Tatsu is left with a new perspective on their situation, for better or for worse.]
[Prota can practically taste the creatures that left the watery tracks. He becomes more ravenous, kind of like a hungry man smelling something cooking.]

Shinji pulls out a camera before looking at the writing through the viewfinder
If I've learned anything about places with this kind of atmosphere, it's to never look at any words with a naked eye.
Curses tend to be abundant.
[Shinji can't decipher the writing either, but isn't as disturbed for some reason. Probably for the best.]
*Dio looks around the room*
"I've seen scarier things in my life."
*He then notices the writing on the skin and starts reading it*

Also, I just remembered that the process is to take a picture, then look at the picture rather than the thing itself.

[DIego, familiar with such scary sights, can understand the implications of this strange writing and the human skin it's on. This doesn't bode well for his confidence...]

In my defense, I haven't done this kinda stuff very many times.....
Probably got some sort of minor curse from that....
Take the picture next time idiot.......
For a heartbeats time Prota pools about the feet of those gathered in the hall ominously like a wild cat waiting in ambush. Regaining some semblance of sense it begins making his way to the end of the hall and pushes its way under the door eager to find its next meal and not wanting to consume those it came here with.
[As Prota slides underneath the door, he catches the attention of a pig-like creature. Its forelimbs are unnaturally long, and are the only support to its body due to its pitiful hind legs. It sniffs at the slime and grunts at another of its kind. Another pig, with a drum and a more human body structure, squeals at the doorway behind it and beats its drum.]
Shotaro is heavily startled by the large beast lifting them up. He struggles to maintain his balance but manages to do it somehow.
"Alright! Let's get going Phillip!"
He reaches into his coat once more and pulls out a purple USB stick that's labelled with a letter J. He presses a small button on the stick.
"JOKER!"
The USB cries out with a loud voice before Shotaro poses with his right arm bent like a V.
"Henshin."
After he speaks those words, a green USB appears inside his belt. Pressing it down before inserting his own USB, he'd then proceed to pull apart the arms of the device. His belt now in the form of a W would speak up.
"CYCLONE! JOKER!"
In an instant, the once average looking detective was replaced with a being clad half in green and half in purple. Said being would look away from the beast before turning back to it with his purple hand posed as a finger gun.
"Now then, it's time to count up your sins!"
With that he'd prepare for the beast's next move, along with his current companion.
Alright, well, we know there are pigs behind the door.
Shall we?
Shinji pulls out his Rifle and loads it

The man shrugs and examines the room for a way to proceed, he's certainly seen worse than some dear body with spooky writing... Perhaps that says something about how much sanity he has to start with however.
"Time's a wasting right guys? So let's get a move on and..."
The man hears a pig screaming at Prota and sighs to himself, one thing after another in this bloody place isn't it?
He draws his gun once more and looks for the source.
*After hearing the pig's scream Dio's eyes widen*
"So, he wasn't kidding about there being pigs here."
*He then does the same as Tatsu and looks for the source of the pig*
[The squeals are coming from behind the door. Pretty obvious.]

[The tentacles lift the boat up a few more feet, until the Rider is face-to-face with a hole that's probably a mouth. Rings of sharp teeth line the edges. A few yellow eyes open to examine the prey.]
Frenzied with hunger Prota floods over the nearest pig and sends it careening into the druming beast as prota lunges again eager to grow its size.
Shinji hides, taking cover using the doorframe and opens the door, noticing the two pigs, opts to aim at the drummer
Tatsu moves behind the door as well and glares at the pigs, 3 bullets flying from his gun aimed at the head of the longer one, no sense starting out with anything major here after all.
*Dio walks over to the door and enters the next room*
"Out of all things, we fight pigs."
[Shinji takes aim!]
[One of the misshapen pigs is knocked into the drummer, squealing as Prota starts dissolving its skin. It hacks up something onto the slime, but this barely does anything.]
[Its friend, however, is spared that fate, and hacks some acidic substance onto Diego.]
[The drummer is cut off as the three bullets strike, one ripping its ear clean off. It squeals again and beats its drum, rallying its friends and filling Shinji with dread...]
[From the hallway, a massive beast charges forward. To put it bluntly, it's the pig version of a centaur. With a roar, it slams into Prota, sending him flying into the wall to stun him.]

The purple half of the man waves a hand in front of his face.
"You, my friend, need a mint."
Quickly pulling another USB from his purple side's waist, he swaps his purple USB for a more silvery one.
"METAL!"
"CYCLONE! METAL!"
A light moves from the split down the center of the man and moves across his purple half. His once purple side is then replaced with a dark silver variant with a large metal rod in hand.
"Time to get to work!"
The man strikes at the tentacles holding the boat up. His goal to weaken them and be dropped back to water level.
Shit.... focus.....
Shinji takes a little more time to make sure his aim is good,
Then let's loose a bio round on the drummer
Tatsuya reaches into his coat and draws a flashbang grenade, a quick shout to everyone to cover their eyes and the man tosses it into the crowd of pigs aiming to stun them as he looks away. Hopefully the others react quick enough to evade being hit as well.
"Ugh, you're going to pay for that you little piece of shit!"
*THE WORLD grabs the pig with a tight grip*
regaining itself after being thrown across the room, Prota once again lunges for the pig it had begun to digest. All its might and viscosity working to the end of keeping its meal restrained. Even trying as it does to envelope the other pig beasts in the room,sending what tendrils of slime not currently constricting the first of it feast to entangle and ensnare.
*Ruka, feeling mocked by the tentacle creature, finishes it of with a few sift strikes* Grr, I hoped I could scare it away, but it taunted me instead!
OoC: I gotta sleep now, lets continue another rime
[The Drummer is struck in the chest. It falls limp from the shot alone, and is easily drawn into Prota.]
[The pig squirms inside Prota, although its struggles are mitigated by the blinding flash.]
[The other pig is snatched up by an invisible force. It begins to cough up something, but is dazed by the flashbang.]
[The swinetaur covers its eyes and retreats to the back of the room.]

[The tentacles squirm, making the boat sway dangerously. The creature panics and shoves the boat towards its open, tooth-lined maw.]
[Ruka's strikes cause the creature to close its eyes. Its grip on the boat loosens, and a tentacle grabs her and throws her into the darkness. She's fine. Probably.]

Due to the amount of focus he put into sniping, and the lack of peripheral vision his scope give him, Shinji completely misses the warning and takes the flash at full force in his aiming eye

He covers his eye in an attempt to regain vision faster, hiding behind the doorway
"Hold him still."
*Dio throws a fuel can along with a lot of lit matches at the pig*
"Shit sorry man, uh if it makes you feel better at least the were stunned pretty bad?"
Tatsu winces at the effect on Shinji. Before snapping his fingers and summoning forth Satan, the Persona glares at the pig before darting closer to it. Something akin to a gun forms on the beast's back as it rushes at their foe, firing a blast made of some kind of glowing energy right at the Swinetaur from nearly point blank range.
Nah, iz ok. I should have been listening for stuff like that....
Hurts like hell tho. Hahaha
"Ah ah ah! No biting!"
The green and silver man would proceed to strike at the beast's maw as his next attack. Swinging around his metal rod and striking at anything within range of the rod.
[The pig in Prota's "body" soon falls limp, and the slime can feast!]
[The pig is hit by the fuel can and bursts into flames right after. It squeals and runs into the nearest liquid... which happens to be Prota. Painful for them both, but more food for Prota!]
[The Swinetaur can't dodge, and only holds its position due to its sheer weight. It rushes forward and whacks Satan's face with the butt of its staff]

[The teeth begin to enclose the Rider... at least, until he starts whacking them. The monster screeches and lets go of the boat, trying to spit the Rider out.]
Closing his injured eye, Shinji puts the rifle away and pulls out his grimoire, firing a bolt oflightning at the swinetaur
Luckily it was only my right eye. So it's not like I'm blind....
The Persona almost seems to laugh as the staff slams into it, a shimmer barrier forming that sends the blow straight back at it's foe... Or it normally would, but for some reason instead the Persona is harmed a bit by a of wood flying into it, regardless it keeps course. And once that's done a glowing ball of light magic forms on the Persona's tendril, spinning it around at a fairly high speed the being stabs right towards it's foe's chest aiming to send the ball inside.
*Dio swiftly shoots the swinetaur with his revolver four times with amazing precision*

Caught in the burst of lightning as it courses through the now fallen swinetaur, Prota falls limp, polling around the three partially dissolved corpses. A few long moments pass before Prota regains its senses and once again begins dissolving the pork buffet now some how accelerated by the charge still dissipating in its slime body.
"careful where you blast that electricity" Prota gurgled. " I thought i would be evaporated"
[The combined attacks leave the Swinetaur wide open, and it slams into the wall. In a final desperate attack, it lunges towards Shinji with surprising speed, throwing its spear and striking his arm.]
Get Bent!
Shinji Quickdraws his scythe and throws it at the enemy with his uninjured arm, then he checks his arm for bleeding or disease

Tatsuya sighs at the dammed thing being alive and draws his sword, darting up behind the pig his blade glows with flames as the man quickly aims to tear it's head off with a stunningly fast swing.
"Would you just fucking die already? I'm not in the mood for all this from a bunch of pigs."

[Thankfully, the swine didn't strike anything major. Speaking of the big guy, he's knocked off balance, giving Tatsu an opening to slice its head clean off. More food for Proto!]
[There's a doorway to the north, although some noises come from the eastern door.]
Shall we look to the east? Make sure whatevers there can't sneak up on us? Or avoid in an attempt to keep battle to a minimum?
*Dio looks at the two doors*
"Hmm, how about we split up?"
"I'd suggest against it, we've had enough trouble all as one group so going different ways seems like a less than stellar plan. That having been said I'd prefer to go... North, let's try out this stealth thing for a change eh?"
Tatsuya checks the door for traps, and as always would proceed through it if he found none. This time moving low to the ground and attempting to be as quiet as possible, aiming to keep to the shadows as much possible he puts any lights he may of had out.
Shinji also quiets down and stealths behind the group, watching for enemies behind them
The silver and green man would then swap out the green USB for a red one.
"HEAT!"
"HEAT! METAL!"
A yellow light seems to coalesce over the green side, which as it fades, fills the air with a blazing aura, and the green is now seen to be red.
"Time to finish this! Metal Branding!"
The man would then remove the silver USB from his side, and insert it into the rod itself.
"METAL! MAXIMUM DRIVE!"
The ends of the rod would then ignite, as the man attempted to spin it defensively, striking out at the monster.
[As the group ventures past the north door, they are soon stopped by a wide river, with a chest sitting at the near bank. The cries of some beast echo across the waters.]

[Good news: the monster doesn't like fire.]
[Bad news: because of the fire, our tentacled friend has dropped from the ceiling, eventually landing with a splash that can be heard by the others. If the brave hero doesn't move fast enough, he'll be body-slammed into the river.]

Prota, still dissolving the last of the swine, sludges about toward the rear. Hesitant to approch any closer to the torrent of water crossing the parties path.

The man then places a yellow USB into the belt, his left now becoming yellow.
"LUNA!"
"LUNA! METAL!"
The yellow side's arm stretches out in an attempt to reach anything to slow his fall. It seems to stretch far beyond the arm's original length, spiraling around, searching the dimly lit darkness.
"Falling never hurt us before, but I still don't like the concept of swimming!"
The man hears the splash and runs off towards it, whatever the hell that was it can't be good right? And upon seeing the tentacle beast he's sadly proven right.
"Gah another one... Okay then Apollo time for BLASTING BLADE!
Tatsuya swears at the sudden entry of yet another fie, and worse then that someone is fighting it? Jeez better help the guy out. Apollo appears and stands next to Tatsuya, between the two of them a large sword made from fire forms and both grab onto it's handle, then they'd leap to the air and spin forward before tossing the thing right at it's center. Then assuming the attack struck it's mark Tatsu would clap his hands together causing the thing to explode in a ball of fire after being burried inside his foe.

*Dio just watches Tatsu do his thing*
[Upon seeing more fire, the creature dives underwater, mitigating the damage. Its slimy hide is struck by the frost bullet, although it seems to annoy the creature more than anything. It shoots three tentacles out of the water and flails around blindly, at the very least knocking over the chest to reveal a piece of paper.]
[The Rider is lucky enough to grab a rock potruding from the wall, and drags himself to safety.]
Right, Frost is a No-Go.
The next round he fire's is a compression round
*Diego turns to look at the creature right before it dives into the water*
"What the hell is that?"

Does it matter what it is? It's got tentacles.
Kill anything with tentacles, they have a tendency to not be able to tell the difference between men and women.
"Hmp, diving eh? I've got an idea for that... COME ODIN!"
Apollo vanishes into the air as a tall man wearing an eyepatch and carrying a spear takes his place, Electric energy gathers around the spear for a moment before rushing up into the air and then crashing down in a bolt upon the area the creature is in. Hopefully the water conducts this better than fire.
"What do you mean they can't tell the difference between men and women?"
*Dio quickly shoots one of the tentacles six times with his revolver*
[The tentacles retreat, and the monster's whole body shakes. It bursts above the surface and sends out one of its countless tentacles, writing something into the ground with its black blood. Many mismatched yellow eyes stare at its work.]
"Bai... Qu..."
[More tentacles spread out and write the two symbols in various places on the walls.]
Nope! Not looking!
Shinji closes his eyes and fires a Lightning bolt at the water in the monsters general direction
Tatsu closes his eyes as well. His Persona however is a bit braver, rather then simply shooting a blast Odin's spear glows with electrical power as he dives straight at the beast, focusing entirely on his for to try and evade seeing the symbols as he moves to jam his spear into part and begin shooting lightning through it's body directly.
"Uhh ok... THE WORLD, I guess?"
*Suddenly, a lot of knives start flying at all of the tentacles including the monster itself*
The man begins to lower himself, searching for solid ground, his eyes lighting up the way.
"Say, Shotaro. This experience reminded me, that I have a craving for takoyaki!"
His left eye lights up in response to the statement.
"Does anything EVER phase you, partner? That's clearly not an octopus, and takoyaki isn't a hard-boiled food, it's fried!"
[The beast is both pained by the electricity and, quite frankly, really pissed off. The knives only add to the black blood pooling down its body. A tentacle slashes a cross-like mark right at the shore.]
"Shi!"
[It seems to have an idea, and it wraps its tentacles around Odin, slamming him onto the mark and putting a dot with a line on his chest.]
"Mu!"

Tatsu could see what that will do... But instead the Persona vanishes, certainly the Summoner feels some damage from the attack, but he isn't seeing what that does.
Instead the man pulls a frag grenade out of his coat and blindly tosses it towards the sound of his foe, shockwaves in the water should do at least something to it.
Alright. I wanna kill this thing before it finishes writing, Fusion spell Tatsuya?

[The monster is blown back, then raises a tentacle. Not paying any attention to the substance spreading out into the water, it reaches for the "Shi" mark.]
"Hai qu..."
"I'm game Shinji! Tell me what ya got in mind and I'll give it my all."
*Instead of gasoline coming out of the fuel cans, black oil pours out into the water*
"Heh, now then."
*Dio lights a few matches and throws them into the water making the flames spread out into the water*

Apollo appears once more and a torrent of flames pours into the winds, the fire burning hotter and hotter untill it becomes pure blue. By this point in theory water should simply turn to steam on contact, and with that the man flashes Shinji a thumbs up as if to say shoot right the hell now.
Shinji thumbs back, then unleashes the Firestorm on the monster at full force
Hehehe, I missed doin' this crap.
"Can't say I blame ya man, now then let's see where this goes from here shall we?"
He smirks slightly and observes the maelstrom of fire dancing across the water, steam pouring upwards from the river and the flames Dio had created even mixing into the wind adding a bit more power.
[The creature screams as the water, which normally stopped the flames, only fueled them due to the gasoline. Its eyes close, but are still practically melted by the heat. It hurls itself into the river and half-swims, half-sinks away. Blind and injured, it's not going to be a threat anytime soon.]
[The uncovered piece of paper from earlier is blown away. It lands at Shinji's feet.]
Picks up the paper and takes a picture of it, then looks at the picture to read it
Think you guys can finish it off?

[The paper seems to be a rough map of the Warrens, with each area labeled in messy handwriting. The various places are given names such as "FOOD PLACE," "CUT PLACE," and, in a room marked by an important-looking symbol, "BIG FLESH." It seems the task of scouting is complete with this strange guide...]
"Wow, it worked. Just as planned."
*Dio walks over to Akamoto and looks at the paper that he just recently picked up*
Tatsu sighs in relief and glances for whoever the masked guy was.
"Well that one was pretty tough huh? Hey, I wasn't expecting anything so exciting in this place so I guess we'll call this a win!"
Tatsuya walks over towards the chest and checks it for traps, assuming he found nothing the man would crack it open and see if there's anything good.
Meh, it's a map......

But yeah, that was loads of fun that I haven't had in a while.

[Smart move on Tatsu's part. There's a mechanism that certainly isn't for opening the chest, and Tatsu feels he doesn't want to find out what it does.]
The man scans his surroundings for his boat, hoping to leave now.
"Shotaro, don't you think it got destroyed? In all that fighting?"
His right eye lit up as he asked himself that question.
"I wouldn't put it past that monster, but how are we gonna get back to the agency without the boat! It was yours after all, and it isn't very hard-boiled to leave your partner's things behind!"
He takes a look at the trap and attempts to figure out how to disarm it, assuming he has a good idea he'd then do just that. Otherwise he'd draw another frag grenade and hope what ever is inside doesn't happen to be breakable.
[No reliable way to disarm it, but thankfully, the blast doesn't damage the gold inside.]

So, shall we return to the Hamlet? It looks like our jobs done for the day.
"Oh neat gold... Grenade proof gold at that, unusual all things considered but cool."
He looks over to the Kamen Rider before him... Or at least they look a lot like Genm did. And those eyes, hmm perhaps they're really two personalities in one body? How that goes he's got no clue but they seem to be debating with them self.
"Oi you alright masked man? I can't say I'm happy about you dragging that here but either way it's a good thing honestly. I am always glad to help people out so uh yeah. Oh and by chance would you happen to be a Kamen Rider? I met someone else with similar armor that used the term so I'm curious."
The man hops into his boat, and uses his staff, which now seems to stretch all over the place, as an oar. The boat flies off as though it has a motor.
"That certainly wasn't a play, partner."
His right eye lights up again.
"At least you'll have an interesting writeup tonight, Shotaro!"
The man is gone from the cavern, off to his home.
"I think we should, it is getting late out."
*Silver Bullet comes charging into the room just as Dio jumps on the horse*
"Perfect timing, again."
Tatsuya nods at Shinji and Dio, muttering something about mega rude presumed Riders as he walks off towards the village. By the time he's out of the cave the man summons up Luicfer and rides away into the night sky.
Shinji exitsthe cavern, and warps back to the Hamlet
*Both Dio and Silver Bullet go back to the inn to rest for the night*
