Java the Hutt: late night scene
In spite of the sky’s daunting shadow, the city moves on, timelessly. Just as always, with so many people you’ll find the streets are about as packed at any time of night. Regardless, a small, unassuming cafe remains open for awhile longer, much to its owner’s regret. Outside of the cafe is a fairly simple sign, featuring a large, slug-like creature drinking coffee. Inside the cafe has a futuristic theme to it, with well-tiled floors, solid white walls, and smooth, slick tables and furniture. The floor seems rather well-laminated, perhaps too well, as it feels a little slick. Regardless, the Lavender-haired man inside yawns and busies himself by cleaning a few leftover mugs
*he walks in as he stretches as his phoenix pet perches on top of his helmet* Lukas: I am so tired...
The store-owner Almost drops the mug he was cleaning, but managed to catch it in time. He sets it down before heading to the counter So, end of work or just about to start? Usually people come in for a quick jolt just beforehand, but you look like you’ve got your hands full
Lukas: Try fighting out IMC grunts and Medici Mafia goons in New Meridian and comeback to me on that...*yaaawwwwn* *his Phoenix fluffs up his feathers as it molts out the old ones*
(edited by FM_Pilot)
The storeowner sighs and watches the bird’s feathers drift to the ground. Before he seems to realize what he’s actually doing and clears his throat Yeah, things are crazy all around here. Anyways, can I get you anything while you’re here? Or are ya just lonely?
Lukas: Pure black coffee and a bowl of cricket for my pet Scorch Mark. *he takes a seat*
The storeowner begins searching around the back shelf as he continues talking I’m afraid we don’t sell crickets here, would probably need to find a pet store. As for your coffee, any blend preferences, or would you like something standard?
Lukas: Black Rifle coffee please. *he gives his pet a bird treat*
Danksuya seems to have a hard time navigating the crowded streets on his motorbike with the crowd that's there, to his dismay not speaking also doesn't help him as he slowly inches down the road, eventually sighing and choosing to park on the nearby street, taking off his helmet and deciding to wait out the crowd, stepping into the cafe as he looks around curiously, he wasn't one to head into cafes so it was a new experience for him ...
*Walking past, Inari sees the store.* "Might wanna take a peek..." *(It's... Gamma!?)* "Brother, why are you here ?"
Black Rifle... Alright let me see... After a few moments of searching, the storekeeper stumbles upon a small bag of the beans. He begins to brew the coffee, simply putting the beans in the machine and adding water. Soon he turns back around and sees his new client Been a while hasn’t it? Well, I guess you know how to find me now, eh kid? Anyways, can I help you while you’re here? Gamma hears the familiar voice and sighs, looking back at Inari I got a little business of my own. Some old couple was about to retire so I got a pretty good deal I’d say
(edited by Bgammax)
Danksuya turns and sees Gamma, what a pleasant surprise, perhaps this little foray into the cafe wouldn't be so bad after all, he then gives Gamma a small nod and marks the location of this place mentally ... Danksuya then turns to the menu and points towards it, looking slightly confused, perhaps he doesn't know how to order? ..?
 Hmm... "I want an extra large banana smoothie with whip cream on top and a burg please."
Lowe enters the establishment, yelling out through the door at someone. THE DOG DOESN'T LIKE ME, GET THAT THROUGH YOUR HEAD! He rubs his head, sighing and swearing under his breath. He then turns to enter the cafe proper, but seems apprehensive. The clean, almost stainless interior seems to have him worried about walking in, especially given how much a pain this must have been to get running. he pokes his head out the doorway again, this time yelling: THIS PLACE IS REALLY CLEAN, KEEP THAT THING OUTTA HERE. With that, he carefully plops into a booth as he smiles at the man behind the counter. You're that guy I've seen around GYM, right? I think Tatsuya mentioned a guy with pink hair a few times, so I assume that's you. The color really sticks out, 'ya know? You runnin' this little ship?
*Lukas panics and aim his Flatline auto rifle at Lowe* Lukas: FRONTIER MILITIA ON YOUR KNEES!!!
Alice approaches the establishment as well, holding the dog that she ended up kind of walking away with from that time she visited the pet store. She frowns at it, sets it down, and ties its leash to a lamppost situated just outside of the cafe before heading inside shortly after Lowe. It's safe to assume she was the one he was yelling at as she'd soon carry on the conversation inside. You know, he might like you more if you weren't so mean to him! Now he has to wait outside! She steps over to the booth Lowe was seated in, crossing her arms and narrowing her eyes at him. If it wasn't obvious enough Alice is clearly upset with him, so much so that she hadn't yet taken notice of the other guests until Lowe pointed out Gamma at which point she'd turn to acknowledge the others. Good evening, please excuse this... childish outburst.

Gamma sighs and brings Danksuya a small sheet of paper with a pencil. He looks about high school age, so hopefully he’s literate Almost forgot you don’t speak. Well, since I don’t know sign language you’ll have to write stuff for now. Gamma grins when he looks back to Inari, before shaking his head Well, I should be able to get a smoothie for you, but I’m afraid we don’t have a grill. We’ve got some pastries to go with it if you want. That’s about when Lukas starts pointing his gun at people, prompting Gamma to take a deep breath Hey, no shooting in my establishment. I’d rather not have to pay for any damages, especially after what PK did. Gamma proceeds to bow to Lowe in apology, casting a glance back at Lukas Sorry about that, people around here can be excitable. Anyways, it’s Lavender, not pink. Please remember that. I mean, not really much better but... Anyways *sigh* Yep, finally got a place of my own, took a few months, but I’d like to say I’m doing fairly well. Thd coffee machine dings, prompting Gamna to quickly head back there and pour Lukas a cup of coffee, setting it down in front of the soldier at the counter And there we are, took long enough
"Fine, I'll settle for a coffee." *Inari sits down, before pulling out his 4 days of homework out of his bag.* "I'll need a lot of coffee for this. You open 24 hours?"
Gamma tips his hat to Alice as she walks in the door, chuckling lightly to himself. He glances at the dog outside the door... and sighs You know, I don’t mind bringing in pets. So long as they don’t cause too much of a problem. Had a dragon try fitting in here once. Didn’t work very well. A... Abyways, point is your dog should be no issue Gamma turns back to Inari before checking a nearby clock If I was open that long I’d probably go insane. Kinda the only one working here for now, so I can’t afford that kinda thing. I’ll probably close up in about two hours or so. In the meantime, do you have any preferences on your coffee? Or will anything do?

Danksuya stares at the piece of paper and then looks at Gamma, swapping between the two as he sighs and puts his hand up against his forehead, sighing as he takes then pencil with a spin and starts to write Yeah.. I don't talk much, just not my style. I've grown accustomed to not speaking so sorry if it's a little jarring. Anyways what do you have back there? I don't really go to cafes so I have no idea what they offer. Danksuya then turns and sees the gun, backing up a bit as a bit of fear enters his eyes, it was scary being right up next to the real deal, however, he takes a breath and calms down with a flick of his lighter as he overhears Lowe ..? Danksuya then overhears that this person was related to Tatsuya, perhaps he could shed a bit more light on his doppelganger, perhaps know what he's up to and what not, couldn't hurt afterall
*He injects Stim into his coffee and chugs it down* Lukas: Much better... *he drops $23 of credits and falls asleep*
Lowe sighs again as Alice makes her entrance, and quickly chokes on his own breath as he stares down the barrel of a gun. W-woah! P-put that shit away, what did I do?! Gamma's words at least calm him down, and the initial shock seems to have worn off, so he decides to continue talking, every so often glancing back at the now sleeping man to make sure he wasn't trying anything. G-geez. You'd think a guy can get a cup of coffee with a friend and their mutt without having a gun pointed at him. He dances his fingers on the table absently, before perking up as he notices Danksuya watching him intently. This guy...doesn't he look just like Tatsuya? Albeit a bit younger, but still the same face and hair. The eyes are different too, they look much less...tired. This one's full of youth. He knew this Nexus place was a conglomerate of different universes, so seeing another Tatsuya isn't too far fetched. You...lookin' at me? What's up?
Alice's face lights up once Gamma states that he's okay with pets. She'd first turn to Lowe and grin at him, as if this somehow made her win whatever argument had been occurring between them, before bowing to Gamma. Thank you Gamma, I'm glad someone here understands that pets aren't so wild if kept under proper ownership! With that said she'd hurry out to reclaim her dog before coming back inside. She'd decide to take a seat in the booth across the table from Lowe, keeping the dog within her lap as if to spite him with it.
!!! Danksuya simply stares in shock at the armed man falling asleep, he then draws his sword, looking quite panicked, was this normal in this world? What was going on? He's not gonna kill everyone right? Danksuya then prods the Pilot with the blunted end of his blade, trying to see if He'll wake up or if he's safe from his terror
"Make the coffee wake me up." *Inari puts on his headphones and plays Eurobeat to work faster.*
Gammasighs And brings Danksuya a smaller form of the menu, like most businesses it states what kinds they have in both beverages and foods This should tell you everything you need to know. Coffee’s bitter and good for a jolt of energy. Then there are pastries to go with if lf course. Gamma doesn’t even seem to notice Lukas falling asleep, simply taking the credits and putting them under the counter. It was clearly more than enough. Gamma sighs and looks back to Alice My main policy is to not disturb other customers. So long as you don’t do that too much it’s fine. Finally Gamma grins and heads to the back, reaching for a cup of The recently prepared Black Rifle coffee, pouring it and setting the cup in front of Inari This should help. One of the stringer blends I’ve got here. Nothing magic, just solid caffeine
Danksuya turns away from the strange sleeping man, shaking his head and trying to forget about it as he reads the menu, perhaps coffee could calm his nerves from the encounter, Danksuya then turns to Gamma and uses the pencil to point at a black coffee, tapping on the words twice with the tip to signify he would like a cup ...
Lowe's eye is notably twitching at Alice's provocations, but he seems to calm himself down a little, sighing and scratching his cheek. Jeez, you're both pains in my ass, y'know that? He seems to mumble something else under his breath, but before he can be asked about it he loudly calls out for a soda and a glass of water for the both of them.
Alice would first address Gamma regarding his cafe's main policy, turning her head so that she was looking towards him at the bar. I didn't think I was that much of a disturbance! What about that time you worked at the games store? I was a good customer then, right? I'm relatively tame until certain people start acting a little... out of place. After having mentioned "certain people" Alice would then avert her gaze to Lowe, just in time for his "lovely" comment. You're one to talk train boy! Besides, if I'm that annoying then just tell me to and I'll leave.
The winds of the Nexus were still new to Shotaro, however he still followed them as if they were that of the Windy City. The winds die down as the man finds himself outside of a familiar sounding business. He looks at the sign with a grin. "Java the Hutt, this should be that guy's shop." He opens the door to the shop with a smile, his eyes surveying the room and its guests. A man and woman with a dog, cute couple. Lukas, sleeping in a coffee shop? A young man with blue hair, and is that eurobeat? Nice. Second to last is a quiet looking young man, something about him is highly intriguing. And lastly, Gamma. "Oi, Gamma. Long time no see!" He walks into the store and takes a seat at the counter, smiling at his acquaintance with the lavender locks. "Mind if I get a house blend? Black please."
Danksuya then notices Lowe's gaze and question, scratching the back of his head as he wonders how he was so blind and deaf, he then turns to him and nods ... Danksuya then thinks for a second as he nods at his question, speaking up as using the paper was far to inconvenient at this point Hey, I hear you know Tatsuya? I suppose he's my doppelganger, I'm Danksuya, nice to meet you.
Lowe sighs again, seems Alice is very good at making him exasperated. No, no. Don't take it like that. I...forget I said anything, alright? He seemed nervous, not even making eye contact with the girl, and he turns his attention to Danksuya. His voice was...just like his master's. Dank...suya? Er, yeah I know him. I guess you could call him my teacher.
Alice lowered her head, unable to help herself as she smiled. She sensed the passive tone Lowe had taken in response to her and decided to react accordingly. Gee, you don't need to get so down about it Lowe. But if you insist I will forget everything you've ever said to me! She was playful up until he mentioned some variation of -suya, at which point she became interested and turned to face this Danksuya. Do you mean Tatsuya? You both have met him before?
*Danksuya looks stoic as ever as he hears that Tatsuya is teaching Lowe, he never really thought of himself as a mentor but it could work in theory, he then thinks for a second as he responds Hmm, that's interesting to hear about, we may look alike but he's like another person entirely, this Nexus is pretty strange... *Danksuya then turns to Alice, flicking a lighter before responding Mmm, in some dark shadow world, not the best place for introductions but I suppose it's going to be jarring meeting yourself 20 years in the future *Danksuya then looks out the window and sees that the crowd has opened up a bit, he then turns to pair and gives him one final nod as he begins to walk out of the cafe, turning to Shotaro Oh, you seem like a snazzy guy, you should help out that guy over there if you got nothing better to do, girl troubles I think. *Danksuya then steps out of the cafe without waiting for a response as he hops onto his bike and drives out with a vroom

Shotaro turns to the young man with a nod. "Kid you're pretty alright. Very..." He runs his right index finger along the brim of his hat before ending in a flourish of his hand. "...hard-boiled of you." The man then turns his attention back to the couple, perhaps it'd be best to sit this one out. Hard-boiled or not, women were always a mystery.
All Lowe could do was pinch the bridge of his nose, were all women like this? Lowe mostly grew up around men, what with his mother being gone, but now here he was with this handful and in a reality where his best friends were said handful, a middle-aged stone-heart, and a weird alien guy. Yeah, he's become a bit of a mentor of sorts in recent times, don't forget I'm a lot less accustomed to this supernatural stuff than most of you guys are. I just throw trains around. He smiles at Shotaro, and waves him over. Hey come on, don't just stare. Don't be a stranger, come sit down!
Having watched the more youthful Tatsuya depart, Alice noticed Shotaro and began watching him after having seen Danksuya interact with him. Once Lowe had beckoned him over she quickly turned to face the train boy again. Do you know that person too? My you certainly get around, don't you train boy? She couldn't help but grin, right back it with her naming conventions for Lowe while the dog in her lap began to squirm around. He wasn't too happy with having to sit still for so long but Alice had attempted, and largely succeeded, to quell him with a short session of petting.
