My personal review on Pokemon Sun & Moon
So this is my first post on the Phansite and while I could review Persona 5, I think people may have done that, so I'll talk about Sun & Moon! I was away from Pokemon for a long time, but Sun & Moon pulled me back in. I loved the characters, all the new Pokemon, and I actually thought the features and stories surpassed anything in the series so far. I finished all the way through and had the most fun I've had with a game in years! unlike BW which I feel dragged on and insisted on itself with sequels I was fully immersed! Lilly and Lana were my favorite characters (Lana was especially so cute!), and the new Pokemon variants were awesome and made things more diverse to the climate. I think it's interesting how Pokemon is actually considering environmental developments in evolution for Pokemon and it shows they're really trying to move on and bring in players new and old! I just love Sun & Moon and think it's the best entry in the series since GSC, but that's just my opinion... Feel free to say what you think and if you agree or disagree! ^_^
I enjoy the new varieties of psychic type Pokemon. Psychic types have always been my favorite. Did I mention I'm psychic?
I enjoyed S&M too. The changes they made to accommodate new players, or casual players, really helped the game. The Alolan Pookeymanz are kyute too. I usually find it hard to get into a pokemon game. But I thoroughly enjoyed this one. Team Skull was funny And a lot of fun memes were born from this game. Iz a gud game. Good Job Pookymanz!
Can't say I agree. This was by far the worst game in the series for me. I hated the controls, setting, and Pokemon Bank (on the same system? Ripoff scam). I barely managed the first half hour and I hated every minute of it.
H-hated the controls? Aren't the controls for all pokemon games the same? Control pad to move, A to confirm, B to cancel/run? Who...... who complains about the controls in a pokemon game? It's not like it's a platformer or FPS or Fighting game or something.

I barely managed the first half hour and I hated every minute of it. Maybe make an actual argument instead of just straight up being argumentative for arguments sake. Like no offense my dude but your such a downer and for no obvious reason too. I just don't get the kind of pleasure one gets from that. Maybe chill and write an actual review? Or ya know just chill for a sec.

It's not like it's a platformer or FPS or Fighting game or something. The joystick sucks hardcore for Pokemon. The Dpad no longer controls anything, ie, movement. Remember when the stick was something different and cool in Y with roller skates? I loved that. Just another reason the game was terrible to me. Thoroughly unenjoyable to play. And you wonder why I don't want to talk to you, Ryoji? You'd bitch and moan about it the same way whether I wrote a 50 page essay or not. It's not what I have to say, it's that I DARE disagree with popular opinion. Looked to me too, the OP was okay with someone posting if they disagreed. And that's what I did. Didn't attack anyone, nothing. Just stating I don't agree with some base reasons. The issue? Again, that I dare disagree.

Wait, stop! I've come back from the future to warn about the negativity in this thread! In the future there's a single users negativity towards others that causes the future to become ruined! Quickly we must stop this or a rerelease of sonic 06 will come out!
Will the re-release be as terrible as the original? Cuz I'd be ok with that.
I'm with Nana here, if its bad enough then I would honestly be ok with a rerelease. Then again, I'm one of like, ten people who unironically love Sharknado. The first one at least, I haven't gotten around to the others yet
It'll be even buggier than the original with a new sonic clone named Cancer the Hedghog! You don't even want to know what their deal is!
I bet Cancer is even edgier than Infinite. At least, I hope so. At a certain point edge stops being cringy and starts being hilarious. At least in my opinion
I'm starting to look forward to this re-release....
I'm glad this has become a discussion! this seems like a nice place! Team Skull was funny but I think the anime could have been more faithful to their personality! I love the anime so much still but yeah :3 though TogoSystem, you said you only played for 30 minutes and quit? I think you should give it another shot and take it for what it is rather than comparing it to other Pokemon games, I think you'll enjoy it a lot more! and I really like the Pokebank personally. Even though we don't agree I like your passion! ^//w//^
As I played Pokemon Moon and Ultra Moon fully, I can say it's overall very good first time playing it. The graphics are pleasing to the eyes. The characters and Pokemon's 3D models are fantastic as well. As for the story, Ultra Moon's is a lot more interesting to say the least. As the Ultra beasts part take in a even bigger role. The rivals and companions you have, are pretty good to be honest. Hau is adorable and fun to be around with, although, his outgoing nature could annoy others sadly. As for Lillie, she was interesting to say the least. Her role in Ultra Moon was better than the original Moon. Instead of saying bye bye forever, she stays and continues to grow. Gladion is an interesting story was well, he hadn't changed much, but its for the best I guess. He does eventually come back after the Ultra storyline after a month of IRL time after beating Team Rainbow Rocket. I suppose Lusamine and Mohn got way more development for the story. So those were the good parts, but here comes the complaint. After you beat it once, you don't want to play through the story again. So much cutscenes throughout the story was just tiring, this is coming from a person who's a sucker for stories. For me the perfect balance for gameplay and story was in the gen 5 games, but that could just be nostalgia. Overall,it's a good 8.9 out of 10.

I know games 'get better', but I just couldn't stand it any longer. Even footage of it, like Nuzlockes, was agonizing for me too. It just doesn't resonate with me at all. And what is everyone talking about with a rerelease? What was bad? Apparently that's not either Sun or Moon to most people. Please elaborate.

Sonic 06 is the best Sonic game that you should totally go play. This is the game I'm talking about. You'd love it, TogoSystems. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sonic_the_Hedgehog_(2006_video_game)

Too bad when they get old, they lose all value....
(edited by TogoSystem)
cough
Spamming? I'm giving you an honest game recommendation since you asked what it is. To suggest I'm spamming when you asked for an explanation is quite the bold suggestion.

No. Trying to garner people against me in your first post, and "recommending" an inane game with no relation to Pokemon in the second. Both off topic. Not a meme topic either. Looks like spamming to me. Pokebank was a-ok that I disagreed. Too bad everyone else gets so pissy about it.

@Micah, I never want to get rid of my Y game, since I love the over world so much... Too bad when they get old, they lose all value.... It's a shame, but who knows what will happen?
Togo I'd suggest actually playing through the game before casting judgment. Because usually the people who see something through have a better idea of what they're talking about.
@Micah, I never want to get rid of my Y game, since I love the over world so much... Too bad when they get old, they lose all value.... It's a shame, but who knows what will happen? When you beat the entire post game, which are the hardest battles, there's nothing much to do. Can't restart because you'd lose all your Pokemon, and can't find Internet battles since everyone moves on, and start using new Pokes or new items, etc and can't interact with your old game. Hopefully the next Switch game will be something I will like. I can move them there and just sell Y thereafter. They certainly aren't going to Sun or Moon...
Sun and Moon is objectively the best Pokemon generation. It has this. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y9UdbaUVWr0
^^^ He's right.
Hazama knows whats up
Togo I'd suggest actually playing through the game before casting judgment. Because usually the people who see something through have a better idea of what they're talking about. Oh so now I have to beat the whole game to know for sure *I* hate it, and not the fact I was miserable my whole time through what I did play, the fact it's still the exact same game they've released for 20 years now and I've played them all until now and know what to expect. Your mentality is utter nonsense. Love that me saying "I didn't like it" = "It's a bad game" to you guys. Point out to me where I attacked anyone for a differing opinion on this game, or even I said it was even bad? Could've sworn all I said was here's why I didn't like it.

I remember my first time seeing the Ultra Space event in regular Sun/Moon. I was like "that's it, contest over, best Pokemon game ever."

Yeah, I agree with there literally having nonexistent post game in XY. The Looker quests were interesting though.
@TogoSystem I know you hate gen 7 so... Maybe try out Gen 4 or 5?

Everyone please don't be mean to TogoSystem he has opinions too! I love how passionate he is even in the face of so much backlash! Anyway to stay on topic I think Alolan Raichu is the cutest Alolan variant and electric/psychic is a awesome and unique type combination! I took my Alolan Raichu to the end and it did really really well ^^
@TogoSystem I know you hate gen 7 so... Maybe try out Gen 4 or 5? I've played every game so far but (version exclusives not counted) Black and White 1. I'm pretty well Poke-versed. And I can wait for the Switch version.

They don't have a lot of extra content that you can do? Oh dear, it seems my life has been a lie... This means, what, exactly? I don't like playing the game. I don't care what there is to do inside it. I'm not the type to suffer through a game to get to multiplayer. The story in Pokemon games are hardly award worthy, or even very good for me, but I at least get into exploring the world. If I don't like that, the game has nothing for me. Sorry me not liking it bothers you so much, but that's what I think. And thanks, Pokebank. At least you get it.
So all games are just five hours or so? They don't have a lot of extra content that you can do? Oh dear, it seems my life has been a lie... We all have different opinions, some don't like gen 7 and some do like gen 7... Why make him play a game that he doesn't like the feel to it? I mean I loved the story of Majora's mask, but I wasn't able to complete it sadly. I'm horrible at LOZ games...

And I can wait for the Switch version. Ah okay then, I guess you can.. Go through the Pokemon contests in Sinnoh or Hoenn? Or Shiny hunt with the PokeRadar? Maybe play around with the Pokemon Musical or Pokestar Studios in Unova? Until the Pokemon Switch game at least.

I mean it's one thing to look at a game and think it's kinda boring Tbh I skipped over XY for that reason. It could be a great game but I'm not gonna say it's bad because I found it to be boring. But when it comes to games that I do find somewhat interesting to me it's only fair that I give it a couple of hours or finish it completely.

I'll try the Switch game and we'll see how it goes for me.

I'll be sure to tell you what I think.
I'll be sure to tell you what I think. Oki doki!
Nice. So it's only okay when YOU do it. Right. Now that's where you're wrong. I can't say that something is bad because I found it to be boring.... repeating myself here. However you claim to have played a bit of the game. Saying that you have played a bit is fine, but saying you don't like it because of some nitpicky things first of all, and probably only an hour or two in a game that would probably take 60+ hours to do everything is a bit of a... some word for not very clear. Now should you play all 60 hours? Not really, but it takes more to gain a full grasp of the game. Either just doing the main story or a quarter would probably be fine depending on the game.
So now the fighting has stopped.. Let's talk about our favorite Pokemon! Mine is a tie between Cinccino and Maractus (you can tell my first Pokemon game was Pokemon White haha...)
(edited by Micah)
Eevee Eevee is the best to me They're like lil foxes
Eevee Eevee is the best to me They're like lil foxes Oh I remember the first time seeing Eevee! It's so adorable!
I have a Whimsicott that I throw out against anyone. She can just about KO any Pokemon one on one, and if not, directly cripple it for the next one. My own set no one else uses and she's my favorite to use. But just Pokemon wise, I've always loved Jigglypuff. That defines adorable.
Tbh I don't really like the evolutions of Eevee that much Just a regular ol' Eevee is good enough for me.
Eevee, vulpix, and the Shinx line.

To be fair, sometimes it just takes a short time to realize a game is not for you. However, it's not justification for saying the whole game is terrible. You can at least say you personally didn't like it, though. (Exception: broken or overall terrible games such as Sonic 06.)
(edited by PrimPrim)
Personally...I never finished my copy of ultra sun but i intend to dispite my lack of progress and I finished sun but at first I was actually worried about how ultra sun would be. But I was proven wrong,Which I actually plan to get as far as I can in it

You're mistaking me saying "Didn't like it" with "terrible game". They are not one and the same.
I know. It's just that you come across as meaning that due to your tone and overall personality. I could go more in-depth as to the reasons behind this, but I guess it's best to just drop this conversation altogether.
