Conceptual Realms: Mind over Mind
It would happen within a open field just outside the populated city areas of Shibuya. A bright light that would be blinding to any nearby would begin rising into the air like a beacon of sorts. The light would feel almost enlightening in nature but its true intent was to call out for any who see it to find where it's originating from. This idea would be ingrained into the mind as a suggestion rather than an order. Even from the populated areas of the city this light was plain to see as it slowly began to fall back to the ground before compressing back into its origin point. The origin of the light would be a humanoid figure comparable to a male child but nothing about them exactly looked human save for their figure. Their skin was incredibly pale to the point of appearing completely white. Their hair was a light color as well almost looking bleached completely white and finally, their eyes possessed a light just as bright as the one seen before as if the bright light from before retreated into the child's eyes. Their expression would be emotionless as they wait to see who heeds their calling.
(A 7'3 snake centipede hybrid, would jump from building to building, but, he immediately stop, and stare at the light) ....."what the fuuuuuuuck?"
(edited by Reperzel)
<Activating Sequence.exe.> A slight hum from a hidden area, followed by the emergence of a purple being. Five spikes on the back of its head resemble head feathers, while its only eye, red and ringed with white, blinks at the fading glow. Six three-fingered floating hands follow the main body as this creature soars towards the area.
*Krishna appears nearby.* Well now. This could be interesting. I wonder who this one is?
Luard had been hoping to find an... Interesting subject for the moment, the man raises an arm to cover his eyes from the incredibly bright light, and that's when the idea strikes him. He wants... No.. Needs to know the source, and so Luard straightens up his coat, and heads for the area in question. Once there, Luard would of course find the child as described, Luard tilts his head, one eyebrow raised towards the child Excuse me, I feel like I should know you. My apologies if so, my memory gets rather.. Dull sometimes.
(He just simply stares at the light) .......whaaaaaaaaa the fuuuuuuuuuuck?
Upon any arriving in the area the child would look over to them briefly regardless of whether or not they should be detectable as if as long as any form of light touched them they knew they were there. The child in question would look toward Luard and address them directly but anything they might remember of the child's method of speaking was completely changed as if their voice was no longer the one coming out but rather the voice of something much less comprehensible. The voice would speak with complete clarity but lack any kind of pure emotion. "Yes, you have met this vessel before but I am currently using them for a certain task I need done and am normally incapable of this kind of direct communication with you physical beings." The light within the child's eyes would seem to grow brighter as it split to look around and observe all who began approaching. It would seem to begin addressing everyone nearby. Regardless of distance, all could hear the voice coming from the child clearly despite that their voice wasn't growing any louder. "It seems some have been drawn here. I'd like to offer that you approach me. I have a task that I require the assistance of sentient creatures such as yourselves for. Getting closer would make it easier for me to explain exactly what that task would be."
What is- The rest of what comes out of the creature's mouth is too garbled to understand. They float closer, their single eye blinking as they try to get a better look at the human-that-is-not-a-human.
Well, it seems some of you are already introduced to this... person. Well, if you need the help of a hunter of Tokyo, I, Kris, average wandering Bard and part-time Hunter of Tokyo. am at your service *"Kris" smiles warmly at the child.*
Akaji was standing around, not really doing anything, until he saw the light, at least. He decided to take a closer look... not too close, though.
Luard nods to the boy, so this is the Prometheus he named earlier, or at least their body. Luard grins, walking towards the child as requested I’ll aid you on one condition. Once it’s all over, I would like to attempt a brief analysis, just basic energy flow and stuff, you’ll likely hardly notice. I trust that will be alright? Luard looks over to the bizarre, purple creature, raising an eyebrow at it as well, almost as though the question were aimed at it as well
Naoya was just walking around, just minding his own buisness, but noticed the light, before being overwhelmed by curiosity. As he doesn't really have much to do at the moment, he looks at it a little more...
The light in the child's eyes would adjust itself to gaze towards all present before focusing first on the one who calls themselves Kris. The voice would sound almost pleased by this response. "Very well, then I shall present the task shortly, but first..." The light focuses in on Luard and their own proposal. The voice would once again become serious but not hostile by any means. "That would be acceptable but I doubt you'd be able to understand what I am fully even with your analysis. Though perhaps that's why you'd want to. Anyway, onto the nature of this request..." The light once again begins separating into different pupils within the eye and it focuses on the creature, Kris, and Luard. There's also a smaller less focused pupil focused on Akaji but it seems unsteady as if simply observing their position for now. The voice speaks in the same manner as before addressing everyone. "I request the elimination of one out of two of a species of beings that are somewhere between physical such as you all and purely conceptual such as I am. I'd say that in some ways they are similar to the being I currently am using to communicate with you all. The difference is the nature of their concept but I understand if this would be a bit beyond your understanding of the world as you see it. This vessel I am currently using was made from the conception of darkness and made physical through the introduction of light. These beings who I need one of which erased are physical manifestations of control. More specifically mental control. They wield a unique power to exert this control over beings of a purely physical nature but they can also only be eliminated by physical beings. If you would accept this request then I'd send you to the realm that they have invaded to exercise this power. Are there any questions regarding this task?"
OOC: Would it still be possible to jump in?
OOC: Nobodies gone anywhere yet so it'd be fine.
(edited by Meian)
The creature says something jumbled again. It coughs and tries again. Digi(unintelligible)? Or kill? It spins around once, although its hands stay in position. (unintelligible) said I can't kill humans, but I guess this doesn't count...
OOC: Most excellent, I'd figured as much but didn't want to crash in without asking. A young man with a blade on his waist wanders into the area, he'd overhear the gist of this little task and raise a hand up to this chin... Hmm, beings of control? Such things sound dangerous, and simply allowing them to roam freely would be like allowing the kingdoms of Heaven to do as they please, none shall decide the fate of humankind but humankind itself after all. He'd glance around at the others gathered, some being far beyond normal concepts, someone who seems to be a Tokyo hunter... But he's off like there's more to it, a young man with an odd air of power to him, and then the one in the coat. At that, he'd walk up to them an greet the group, sounding calm and collected as he gazes toward them. "Greetings, I can not help noting the... Odd task, about to happen here, as a Samurai I suppose I shall lend my blade. Now then, beyond these things controlling others, are there any dangers to be aware of? If I have learned anything from fighting demons, it is that one must always strive to know their enemy before striking."
And interesting task to be sure. I'll make sure to help out. It's what we hunters do, yes? *"Kris" glances over to Flynn, hiding his eyes under his hat.* Well, if it isn't Flynn. I've heard much about you, "saviour" of Tokyo. Hmm hmm hmm hmm. How wondrous it is crossing paths with a "hero".
Flynn looks over at Kris once again, there is something quite wrong with this man... That tone, the way he hides his eyes, what on earth is this person trying to hide? Hmm, perhaps it's best to try and poke at him a bit for some info. "I would not call myself those things, I did what I believed needed to be done and little else. Hero, Saviour? Hardly, I helped some, went against others, but in the end, I believe I made the best out of a poor situation. I am curious, from the way you speak I'd guess you are not overly fond of me." He pauses for a moment to try and eye the hunter's reaction, even as Flynn speaks there's a serene smile forming on his face. Despite saying what might be a threat, he sounds rather friendly and laid-back for the moment. "Perhaps you followed Law or Chaos? I can understand the merits of such ideas, safety, and freedom... I myself tried to strike a balance, and from what I could gather that is what most wanted, yet I understand that my actions did not please everyone."
Luard grins and clasps his hands together, wonderful, it seems that this whole event will work out wonderfully for him, especially if they're going against two.... Similarly interesting beings. And if they can be killed, all the better. Wonderful, absolutely wonderful, and our targets sound no less interesting. It hardly matters how complete my knowledge is, the important thing is to never stop seeking. Now, when can we.... That's about when the young man in a long, dark coat, overhears Flynn, its a perfectly reasonable question to ask of course, in his excitement Luard seems to have forgotten such simple details. Regardless, Luard would open his arms and briefly turn to his allies, Luard's voice takes on a bright, cheery tone, hardly able to hide his excitement at the idea of these.... Specimens I do hope you do not mind giving me the chance to finish one of our foes myself, no? If at all possible, I would like to be able to look into these things as well. Hardly even matters
Akaji stepped out from where he was hiding a little slowly, as if building up confidence. “I’ll come along, I mean, They do sound incredibly dangerous, but... I guess I kinda wanna see for myself.”
(edited by Akaji_Ryuu)
Oh no, I'm not a follower of the Angels or Lucifer. Don't worry. I truly do admire you, Flynn. You're a worthy saviour of humanity. My family would call one such as you a Godslayer. Hmm hmm hmm. *"Kris" take out his flute, brushing some dust off of it and turning away from Flynn, smirking.*
That... Does not put his mind at ease, if anything it simply raises more questions about his tone from before. So quickly switching to a more friendly persona, this man clearly has something he's trying to hide. No sense worrying about it now though, but he'd best keep an eye on Kris. "I see, well then your thanks are appreciated. I do what I can after all." With that, he'd turn over toward Luard and nod, there doesn't seem to be any good reason not to grant the man his request after all... "I feel no issue with that request, so long as our lives are not in danger from the attempt I shall gladly allow you to finish off one of our foes."
The light would first focus on the creature's inquiry however undecipherable it may be. Its tone would be more direct than before as if trying to get to the true purpose of this task. "It doesn't matter to me how you erase them. As long as they no longer have the ability to produce thought. Their power only works as long as they remain sentient. Though, I'd prefer any uninvolved beings to not be harmed in this process, at least not to the point of lack of sentience." The light next focuses on Flynn and their question. Their tone now shifting to something more hesitant as if trying to associate what would possibly be a threat. "This realm is foreign to your own but not so different that I would call it unsimiliar to a regular land. However, while there are beings closely related to what you may call human these beings have mostly already been influenced by your target. Their light robbed and replaced with another's light. It's not a pleasant state for them to be left in which is why I seek to free their own light once more through the elimination of the one who manipulates them. Other than that I'd be cautious of spherical physical manifestations of control that these beings are known to carry around their own bodies. Touching them or absorbing them might result in the loss of your own free will." Finally the being focuses in on Luard's statements with genuine curiosity in their tone regarding their intent. "Only one is required to be erased in this but if the other stands as an obstacle then, so be it, though the other is mostly passive as far as I am aware. They haven't even amassed any under their control which is unusual to me given that they are beings of control. However, you are free to do whatever you please in order to achieve your goals." Finally the light would address the group as a whole. "If that is all that you wish to ask then are you ready to begin? If so I shall send you to the other realm right away."
Beings placed under the control of their foes, that is not a good thing... No need to kill them, if anything he'd consider freeing these beings part of the goal here as well. "I see, yes I am quite ready for what this place may hold in store. There is no sense wasting time, and I feel no need to simply wait around while there is work to be done. I would ask that we attempt not to kill those under the control of our foe, violence is not a favored thing of mine, despite my skill in it. If possible, I prefer to solve things with negotiation."
The situation seems unpleasant, but I am prepared. I am ready. Let us go.
Overhearing the being addressing Flynn's concern, Luard would sigh, what he was aiming for unfortunately requires contact, its short, but still somewhat of a risk if these creatures have a barrier as was claimed. Regardless, that leaves all questions answered, so far as Luard knows, so the young man once again spreads his arms wide and smiles I do believe we are finished now, I have the general idea, watch out for their slaves, preferably don't kill those, bombard the being itself from afar, then once it has been greatly weakened, allow me to finish it. Sounds like a simple plan, only thing to fear is in the execution
“Y-yeah... I’m ready...” Akaji then looks over at Flynn “I agree we should try to avoid any unneeded deaths.... but... uh... are we even able to avoid them..? We might be forced to kill them... though, I really hope we don’t...”
Seeing as everyone was in agreement with the task the light within the child's eyes would begin growing brighter and brighter as it began leaking from their body almost like a liquid but far too bright to properly identify. It would almost bee as if it began flooding the area and covering all around it within the light. They'd almost be drowning in it but it didn't appear to cause suffocation of any kind. For a while, all would feel as if they were drifting within a bright light in the middle of a large open space. Floating within it as if they were floating in an open sea of water. Shortly after this phenomenon, the light would sink away as all would be left in the middle of a forest clearing. The forest itself would certainly look alien as the tree would seem to take on an emerald hue seemingly sparkling in the light as if made of gemstones. The grass beneath their feet, on the other hand, would have the texture of a green dirt and fall apart just as easily. Directly in front of the group would be a man-made looking path leading out of the forest. To their left would seem to be a more natural path deeper into the forest. Finally, to the right would be a section of the clearing completely covered in flowers with crystalline petals and four winged butterflies seeming to land on the flowers to suck up a ruby looking nectar. In the middle of the clearing would be a small stone with a shining light within it similar to the one in the child's eyes earlier. A voice would come from the stone. "I welcome you to the realm of paradise. A realm in which leisure and the concept of beauty exist in physical form. Though the embodiment of the world's rules has since left it for an unknown reason. Perhaps that may go over your head but typically there is a being I suppose you could compare to a god that rules over each world. They don't often take on physical forms but this detail shouldn't matter since they're absent anyway. If there is anything you need simply speak to the stone I have left for you but be warned that communication might be difficult at times as this world isn't completely part of my domain."
The purple creature floats around, looking at everything in awe. The person's words fly in one metaphorical ear and out the other. Wow... Pretty... And as for those things... I could have Big Bro (unintelligible) alter their (unintelligible) after I... They aimlessly float in a random direction.
Luard closes his eyes and raises an arm in an attempt to protect his eyes from the brightness, annoying, to some extent, but it is no true problem. After a while, the light somewhat fades, prompting Luard to open his eyes once more to glance at his surroundings. For now, he approaches the stone, and his benefactor inside of it, and bends over to pick it up before asking Which direction should our target, the harmful being, be in? If you are aware of it, that seems like a massive time save on everyone's part. This... Place might be nice, but I'm afraid I have more to do than stand around admiring it
*"Kris" walks around in a small circle, observing the surrounding area.* Hmm. It looks like... somewhere completely different to Tokyo, that's for sure. I can imagine why this place would be called paradise. It seems that this place is also devoid of life. It would seem my demons would just dirty this place, so I will refrain summoning them here. You don't mind this I hope. * "Kris" seems to look at Flynn as he says the last line before looking away and staring at the sky.*
Unlike Luard, Flynn doesn't really have that much to worry about as of late... Despite his many travels, a place like this is rather new for him. And he can't help but admire it's beauty for a moment, still there is a job to be done and it should be his focus. Kris's words cause Flynn to shrug, for now, it's fine but if they're needed the best know when. "If our lives are in danger from the lack then I would suggest simply using them regardless. It is quite wonderful here, but I am not about to die simply out of a desire to preserve beauty. And yes I agree with Luard, we have work to be done and knowing where our target is would make things far more simple."
The stone's light seems to shift for a moment as if something is being processed through it. "It's hard to determine an exact position for your target as they've spread themselves out quite widely amongst the residents of this world. Up ahead it would seem that parts of their presence are in higher concentration. The forest also seems to possess other beings that aren't related. As for the other being of control that I mentioned, I detect them quite a ways up ahead. They're much easier to identify as they've only spread themselves into one other entity. However, you wish to proceed is fine but once you exit the forest I will not easily be able to contact you as the interference will begin to increase." The creature drifting away from the rest of the group would find that the forest from up above seems to shine like a treasure trove. A distance behind the group and past the forest would be a beach where the sand seemed to shine like gold and the water took on an orange hue to match the sky overhead making it look as if it was constantly sunset.
Beach... As if hypnotized, the creature floats down towards the coast, eye gleaming with excitement. Its hands are outstretched as if it were spreading invisible arms like wings. The mission is less important than this at the moment. The best way to describe this would be "childlike wonder."
Then I will be careful. I can take care of myself, Flynn. Don't worry. *With a light chuckle, Krishna starts walking down the path.*
Flynn nods at the hunter and begins walking off after Chimera... They're not exactly looking very aware of things at the moment, and he can't help being concerned for their safety all things considered. Flynn would draw his sword in his right hand, and place his left hand upon the gauntlet over his right arm, absently preparing to conjure demons and glancing around the area as he walks forward.
Luard glances around to his companions, holding the stone in the air as he does so Very well, you heard them. The being we're looking for is outside of the forest, somewhere. Though our benefactor will have a hard time contacting us once we have left, regardless, those of you who are going in that direction now, may wish for his assistance. After holding out the glowing stone for some time, to see if anyone wishes to accept it from him, Luard would turn to the left path, deeper in the forest where many entities of this world are supposed to reside For now, I do believe I shall look into what other manner of creatures live in the area, I shall catch up as soon as I can, don't worry.
Akaji followed the Chimera and the others. quietly, keeping himself to himself
(edited by Akaji_Ryuu)
Along the coast of the golden beach many different shells off an oddly pristine white coloration would rest on the surface of the golden sand. The sand itself could also be noted as being much softer than normal sand and much more refined. The water would gently brush against it as well but the waves seemed to be growing larger for some reason. An almost enchanting echo can be heard somewhere off the coast but as quickly as it rings out id fades away. The sound could only be described as a chime of some kind but sounding much more organic like an animal letting out a noise. Deeper within the forest Luard might already feel that their being watched as they pass by trees of many shapes and size. Among the trees, many small creatures might be found including odd cats with ears far larger than average and small frontal arms with tiny finger-like paws. They also seem to be attached to a sort of webbing underneath but its hard to see exactly what the creatures fully look like. There would also be small rodents but only there eyes could be seen through the darkness of the forest as only the cat-like creatures had moved in close enough to be identifiable. Strange noises could be heard deeper in that almost sounded like a rustling of sorts. The swing of something hard against stone could also be heard up ahead as if something was being harvested. They could not yet fully be made out but there appeared to be someone up ahead. The stone would simply shine curiously dimming its light down as if to send a warning of some kind to Luard whether they were looking or not.
Hm? The creature looks around for the source of the sound, managing to find a rough direction it came from. It begins flying that way, three of its hands picking up some shells off the sand. They're very pretty shells. One of the people it digitized said you could hear the ocean in them. Very nice.
Flynn would walk after the creature, gazing around warily as he wonders exactly what kind of dangers this beach may hold... He can't help thinking of seemingly harmless buildings full of demons, perhaps something lurks below the sands simply waiting to leap forth? Or maybe the water? Either way, he's more focused on searching for foes than admiring anything.
unfortunately for Luard, he is far too focused on the creatures to pay the stone any heed, unfortunate that he was stuck with it, yet there's no harm in keeping it close, for now, Luard tucks the stone away in his cloak, near a large, silver blade he does his best to conceal. glancing around at the cat-like creatures, some kind of wild animals, likely native to the area, well, this is what he was searching for anyways. So, Luard brings out his right hand, quickly drawing a simplistic pair of magic circles, a few runic markings decorating the edges between the two. Luard focuses on the circle, sending out a faint, almost undetectable pulse of energy, one likely to resonate with the creatures in the area and give Luard a basic analysis of their strength, general magic abilities, and life signs as we would know it
Akaji runs after the chimera, seeing it fly off, as he was keeping an eye on it. hoping it was going toward the sound of the chime, and not something else.
* "Kris" wanders around the beach, strangely not leaving any footprints.* This is quite the beautiful place, no? Leaving you in a daze is it, Flynn?
The sound of the chime would ring out once again but louder and more clearly. It almost sounded like the voice of a woman. The creature now flying above the orange seas would suddenly have the water directly in front of them begin bubbling and shaking before a whirlpool of sorts began forming. From the sea, a gigantic humanoid being with fin-like wings and blue skin would arise. They wore a cloak made from what looked to be scales and had their eyes closed. From their head, orange strand of thick hair would flow in the sea breeze. They radiated with elegance and beauty. The strange humanoid sea creature would open their eyes to reveal that they were blood red and begin opening their mouth to release the chime-like noise at full volume also showing off a row of sharp blue crystal-like teeth. They raised one of their hands causing the water below to rise into a solid form that would try to wrap around the creature and drag them down into the sea along with the humanoid figure. Luard meanwhile would scan all lifeforms in the area. The first of these creatures was the cat-like creatures. They seemed to have two arms and four legs. The arms seemed to be more akin to primitive hands with webbing attached underneath for simple gliding whereas their legs had sharp claws on the ends of them. Their bones were actually very light and easily broken allowing for them to be more nimble and strike with speed rather than strength. Other than that they were mostly non-hostile with qualities comparable to wild cats. Next were some of the rodents that happened to not be prey to these cat-like creatures. One was a strange round creature of sorts with a hard shell on its back appearing to be made of the bark of the trees. They appeared to be slow in nature but with strong legs capable of launching their hardbacks into predators in order to stun them so they may get away. Some of them even seemed to be able to shape the bark into different patterns using tiny drill like claws on the end of their legs that were mostly useless for combat. Their saliva was also heavily adhesive which would explain how they're able to stick the bark to their backs in the first place. The final reading would oddly be that of an average human or seemingly average. Their magical ability seemed to be higher than average and there was something off about their life signs. It almost seemed as though their body was functioning...too rhythmically. As if something was manipulating their health and body functions in a specific way. There was also something off about their brain function in general as if signals were being transmitted from elsewhere and manipulating their body rather than signals being sent from their own mind.
Time for night, good bye The creature's body becomes transparent, and the attempt to grab it results in everything just passing through its body.
Luard takes all the scan data in, quickly taking a tablet out from under his cloak and cradling it against his right arm so he can rapidly type with his left, after all, he needs to record as much of the information as possible before it leaves his mind... Perhaps he should develop an automated method of recording, yet in some ways its the most entertaining part of his job. For now, Luard would glance around at the creatures and, careful to step quietly and carefully in order to not disturb the cats or rats, walks towards this last signal, that of some manner of human. Another time he may have chased the animals in hopes of learning more, but these things are dangerous, it would be best to avoid angering them if possible.
Flynn sighs as something rises from the sea to try and strike them down... He'd tap a button on his COMP and a glowing green pentagram takes shape in front of the man. "Come, Loki!" A tall man with purple skin and a white robe over his body appears, he'd glare at the thing rising up from the ocean as a large set of 3 icicles takes shape above his head, each of them would quickly rush out toward the beast in front of them and aim toward its chest. Flynn, on the other hand, waves his blade about for a moment, a quick shout of Garudyne would cause rushing winds to take shape behind the ice spikes, the winds blow behind the ice at a great speed and mix into it, small blades of air forming on the surface as the icicles pick up more speed. With that, Flynn would begin dashing away, his demon follows behind as they attempt to escape from this little battle, for some reason he doubts that this is their target.
Hmm. I suppose I shall aid you in the beast retaliates. * "Kris" plays his flute. Combat Tara (Parties stats up), before running after Flynn*
(edited by Krishna)
OOC: Taking a brief break to eat.
The icicles would strike the strange woman-like figure directly in the chest region. The scale robes would absorb some of the impacts but it seemed the extra force of the wind would allow them to slice through the robe and draw blood. The monster's blood would be a strange mix between orange and blue that seemed to mix in a way that seemed impossible but even just that strike was enough to make something indescribable form out of the monster's mouth. It was a sphere of many indescribable colors that sparkled brilliantly in the light. The monster would fall back into the sea almost lifelessly as if all the wind was knocked out of its body. The sphere that could only be called beautiful seemed to bounce in the air for a moment as if portraying something like joy before floating after Flynn as if trying to follow him back to the forest clearing. Flynn and any who followed him would find themselves walking back to where they started. Before them would be the path forward out of the forest and the path off to the side leading deeper within. Luard would carefully approach the person in question without alerting them to his own presence. The person seemed to be male and quite average in both height and weight. They were trying to break the bark off of a tree with a metal tool of some sort. The tool looking like a cross between a sickle and a mining hammer. There was no emotion in the person's expression as if they were simply doing a job and nothing else. Their eyes also glowed with some red light that almost could be described as oppressive.
As the samurai darts off for the clearing, he'd send up a large blast of electricity behind himself. Whatever is following he doesn't like it, the flash might well cause his pursuer some damage, but if not at least it'll hopefully slow the damned thing down a bit. Loki raises its hands and conjures a wall of ice behind them, stretching out to about 40 feet wide and 15 tall, hopefully, a barrier can be of some use too.
Luard watches the person for a moment, careful to remain hidden, based on the strange light in his eyes, as well as the man's slow, impassionate movements, it is likely that they are one of his target's victims. It is likely that the target in question is sentient, to some extent, but has a low opinion of humans like Luard, thus it may not be wise to attempt to speak to the being directly. This red light in the man eyes can probably be assumed to be some trace of the target's energy, or at least related. Luard briefly looks at the stone within his cloak, considering a brief consultation with the being that brought him there, however, the stone's glow might attract unwanted attention before Luard is ready for it. After weighing these options, and several more, Luard sighs, he moves around the forest in an attempt to get a fair distance behind the person while remaining unnoticed, before stopping in order to begin making another magic circle. This one would be significantly larger and more complicated than the previous one, still consisting of two minor circles with runes between them, the circle would emit a faint glow, one that would be fairly noticable if the man turned around as Luard sends a more focused pulse, this time aiming to distinguish between the man's own life and that of the light controlling him, as well as the manner in which they are connected
Flynn would soon realize that the attacks would be useless in stopping the entity as it seemed to just pass through any of his attacks. The entity would fly straight next to Flynn seeming to just passively follow him rather than do anything directly. It almost seemed to not notice Flynn attacking it as if it didn't realize what it meant to be attacked physically. Luard would be able to silently get behind the person in question and would successfully manage to start scanning it. However, suddenly the figure would turn as if his fluctuation of magic set something off for it. Luard would be able to tell that the man was alive but in a deep state of sleep similar to being in a coma. The signals were being sent from somewhere behind Luard's correct position at quite a distance and were being drawn in via a strange substance within the man's skull shaped into a sphere. For a moment it was as if the man was taking a moment just staring ahead blankly before his eyes lit up a bit more and the aura became stronger. He'd begin speaking in a calm yet direct tone as if not accustomed to his own voice. "How strange...I know you're there. A physical being that I nor my sibling have no control over. Not that I would expect them to be trying to gain direct control over another. Where did you come from? Are you from another realm? Certainly, I'd know if there were others to become apart of my influence."
having been caught, Luard has little choice but to step out completely into the open, diplomacy it is then. The cloaked man yawns, stretching his arms behind his back in a show of nonchalance while his mind races at a hundred miles per hour. Careful not to let the energy show in his voice, Luard speaks in a monotonous, almost bored tone. Those are all very good questions, where to start. My name is Luard, and I am indeed from another realm. I am a researcher, focused primarily on various more... Interesting forms of life and, as you may have noticed, their spiritual, mystical, life energy, whatever you wish to call it. I am unsure of the name of the realm I came from, as this is my first time outside of it. My primary goal here is to study all manner of beings native to this realm, such as your honorable self. Luard briefly bows to the being in a show of respect, before straightening up to continue As such, I have a request to make of you, if you would be so kind as to indulge me, and am willing to do many things, so long as I maintain my own will of course, in exchange for this request.
He's got no time for this nonsense, but that orb almost seems akin to the things they were warned about... Flynn simply keeps moving, for now, looking back at the orb now and then to make sure it hasn't decided to try and attack, but for the moment his biggest worry is catching up with that cloaked man and informing him that the beach has nothing of note. And hopefully, he'll have found something more useful in that forest.
The man would seem to think for a moment pondering Luard's request. It almost seemed for a moment as though he might try to assimilate Luard then and there or at least try to but then something seems occurs to the being. "Actually, there is something I could use another mind's help with. Relinquishing on already under my control to do it would be annoying, not to mention that I can never be sure if they'll even do as I command. A while ago another being ruled this realm. They are the embodiment of what this realm is. The concept of beauty, its embodiment. They've always craved a physical vessel as beauty is best conveyed through the physical world but they've also always had trouble obtaining one because of their own vanity. That is however until my sister appeared before them along with me. We wished to fight them off this world but in the end, the most we could do was drive them away. They vowed to come back though with a proper vessel of one of the more dangerous creatures in this world in order to relinquish our control over their people and to take my sister as their vessel. I want you to find them. In all honesty, they interrupt my control of these people. They also obviously would attack me on site and try to kick me out of this realm but an outsider like you could easily deceive them. All you'd have to do is destroy them while their part of a vessel and that should disrupt their form as a concept as well. If you do that I will acknowledge you as an ally and allow you free roam of my kingdom." Flynn would venture deeper into the forest to try and find Luard. The orb still following behind them shining with a multi-colored light. It didn't seem to be approaching too closely to Flynn but it was as if it was simply watching them from a distance. As Flynn and the strange orb got closer to Luard and the man, the man would begin to pause and drop to his knees grabbing his head. The man's brain signals would be changing as if they were waking up and the entity's control was weakening.
(edited by Meian)
Flynn looks toward the man, this orb... It's connected to their foe, but perhaps not in the same way he had first thought? Does it interfere with the control of this thing somehow? Flynn walks closer and greets them. "Well, I have found something rather odd at that beach. And judging by our the reaction of our new friend I am guessing that he is being affected by this little device in some major way... The question becomes, is this to our benefit or will it work against us? On that, further testing seems needed insofar as I can see." He'd glance between them with a curious expression, Luard seemed to be talking to... Well, attempting to speak with the foe does not, in fact, say there's an issue, Flynn himself is in no way against negotiating with enemies after all. It could be a problem, for now, he'll leave it be, but best keep an eye on Luard.
Shortly before Flynn and the orb arrived, Luard would nod in assent and open his mouth, though the stone on him may disagree to some extent, however, before a word is uttered, Flynn and the orb would emerge in the area, disrupting the conversation. After a brief moment, Luard turns around, of course finding Flynn and... Some orb, one thing clear about it is that it had no real physical form, and was, in some sense, beautiful beyond description. For the moment... Luard pauses, feeling, perhaps a pang of pity for the being, yet, his research takes priority, in this case, that means earning the trust of this place's ruler. So, Luard steps towards Flynn and the orb, briefly bowing to the pair, before cracking a smile. This is, indeed, to our benefit, though it would be best to be well away from him before discussing the matter further, perhaps that initial clearing would be good enough? In fact, your little discovery just might be the perfect solution we needed. With that, Luard would wave for Flynn to follow him back through the forest, to the initial grove where they can talk in... Not exactly isolation, especially if the orb continues following them, but at the very least away from the ruler
Get away... For some reason the thought of that puts Flynn on edge, he's rather curious to see how the orb keeps effecting this man after all, though perhaps he's simply being needlessly paranoid? Either way, Flynn keeps his eyes on the man upon the ground for the moment. "Not curious about the reaction? I can not deny that I would like to see more of the orb's effects upon this person... Though, there is merit to leaving it be no doubt."
The man on the ground would simply seem to pass out. The orb had some sort of effect just being near him the completely cut off the entities control over the man. His brain waves are normal but it seemed as if the struggle that freed him left him completely exhausted. Now with no other way to explore the only path left would be the ones leading out of the forest. The stone Luard is carrying would begin lighting up again and the orb would almost seem to react oddly to this. "Ah, there you are. I was wondering where you went. You're supposed to be ruling over this place but it seems our enemy had tried to rid you of your own realm. I've brought these people to clear our problems up. Please try not to force them into becoming your vessel. They are valuable assets if we are to complete this task." The orb seems to move up and down rapidly about 3 times as if to confirm that it understands. It continues floating near Flynn.
"Well, with that said and done there is nothing for us to do with this man. I shall take the lead for now." Becoming... Not too shocking all things considered, but if nothing else the thing seems to understand that they're aiming to help it as of now. With that, Flynn would begin walking down the path out of the forest, there's quite a bit here he doesn't understand, what Luard was saying to that person before they fell out of control, what exactly will happen when this being is dealt with, so many questions and so few answers. Hard to make a decent choice at all, but for now, he'll simply try to gather a bit more info. "I am curious, however, did our passed out friend say anything of note to you? I can say that I sadly have only met a being which attacked and refused to speak, but he seemed rather less hostile given how close you were standing to him without suffering an attack."
Having monitored the situation, and relatively certain of the red light's control having slipped, Luard breathes a sigh of relief, with one less being present, that leaves him able to discuss matters much more freely. As such, Luard turns to Flynn, bringing the stone out from within his cloak in order to allow their benefactor more ease of conversation as well. I was merely hoping to avoid any matter of valuable strategizing in front of our enemy, a sentiment I think any sane man would agree with. Luard briefly closes his eyes and looks down, for him, the entire situation became somewhat more complicated, but ultimately all he truly needs is to be on the winning side, whoever it may be. But now that they are gone, I can much more openly discuss this finding of yours. As our benefactor mentioned, they were the original ruler of this land, and have the ability to disrupt our opponent's control, to some extent. As such, our first order of business should be aiding them in finding a vessel, a physical form with which us mortal creatures can communicate with them and they will be able to aid in the potential upcoming conflict. his piece spoken, Luard would finally look up, only to see Flynn walking away, the young, cloaked man jogs in order to keep up with his more-fit companion, wherever they are going for now
(edited by Luard)
True enough, Flynn cannot deny the value in evading such things after all. A form for the being eh... Perhaps a demon would do? He will not give one up for good, but the Minotaur might well serve as a body for this thing at least for now. Loki... No, not that one, either way, he turns to the stone and poses a question. "Quite so, though I must admit I am quite glad we found out how far that control breaking seems to go, speaking in front of our foes would be foolish to an extreme. That said, I may have an idea for this finding a physical form, I am... Well, a demon summoner is a word for it, and assuming that our friend there would give up its host when we are done, I would be willing to lend one of my demons to serve as a vessel." Flynn looks toward the not quite there thing before them, of course, that would mean he's able to dispell the vessel whenever he pleases as well, but there's no need to tell their friend of such a thing. Best keep one's tools hidden, and if it's never needed all the better.
As the two exit the forest the stone's glow would begin fading away. The light would simply say its farewell as the signal seemed to be fading. "This is where we part ways for now. Once the task at hand is complete I will communicate with you again. I trust your judgment whatever it may be. You all have the right to think for yourselves as well but I only hope you will see that others have that right as well..." The stone would finally go dark as the stone lost all light leaving the two only with the strange orb floating near Flynn. As they made their way out of the forest buildings that seemed to be made of the crystal-like substance the trees were made of comes into view but the crystal the buildings are constructed from seem to be much more compressed leaving them to look a solid green. Walking forward Flynn and Luard would find themselves out of the forest and in a much more open area that looked like a village, however, all the buildings were very simple in shape and size and seemed to all be constructed in a neat and organized fashion. In the distance, a palace or sorts could be seen. It was gold in color and shined more brightly than everything else. From within the houses, they might realize they were being watched by emotionless red eyes. It seems everyone here had been assimilated as well but they didn't dare approach the two out of some sort of fear of the orb with them. The fear was identical in all their eyes. Throughout the air and primarily above the buildings red spheres that didn't seem to be liquid or solid would float. It would seem that these spheres were the manifestations of control they had been told about. There weren't many paths to follow from here as everything seemed to be geared towards heading towards the palace. Finally, an older looking man with red in his eyes would stand at the end of their path. He stays a few feet back in order to try avoiding the orb's effects. "So, it seems you have a friend with you as well. I've changed my plans. Head for the palace immediately. The embodiment of beauty will follow those it believes are loyal to it. Especially since I know of its goal. It wouldn't dare avoid trying to find my sister. So all you need to do is bring them to me and I'll destroy them before they have a chance to do anything. You understand what I'm saying, humans?"
Flynn would tap a few buttons on his COMP, and before too long a 12-foot tall man with an ox's head stands behind him. Flynn points the orb toward it before smirking over at the man, a bone-chilling look crosses the samurai's face as he gazes back at those red eyes without a hint of emotion. "I am afraid to say that I have struck a deal, I see no reason to simply allow you to control all of these people unhindered, it reminds of me the goals of YHVH and his angels, so to your rule I say no thank you. Beauty, if you care to take my demon as a vessel, for now, I would be agreeable to that, the Minotaur is not much to look at sadly, but I can assure you he is, in fact, capable of speech, unlike your current form, and quite deadly in battle at that."
As for Luard, he simply shrugs, ultimately it matters little to him what happens, so long as neither group has particular reason to be upset with him, he can easily claim an allegience, for now, he looks over to Flynn's COMP.... Capable of bringing forth entities of great power.. Definitely a device worth studying, if at all possible. One point for his side, regardless, Luard glances at the orb, their main point of concern, before glancing back at Flynn, with a sigh, he steps closer to his companion, before whispering in hopes that the red-eyed man cannot hear him In this specific case, I do believe it would be best to work with them, at least for the sake of getting to the palace, we can easily protect the orb there, however, such open aggression from the start may make the whole path more difficult, regardless of our choice, he's essentially offering a free pass through half the trip. Personally I have no preference, still, it is best to keep one's options open.
The red-eyed man would scowl as the other residents come out with the same looks on their face. They would surround Flynn and Luard as the red orbs from before begin circling around them. They all at once begin speaking in perfect unison. "You would dare oppose us? We offer a simple deal. Bring the embodiment of beauty to us. We are many and you are few. Do you not understand what a hive mind means? It means all these simple-minded humans belong to me and you shall soon become part of me as well if you resist my commands." The embodiment of beauty takes no chances passing into the Minotaur as their eyes are filled with a multitude of bright colors. From the Minotaurs mouth comes a graceful voice that spoke as if it were singing. "This form will do for now but it isn't quite what I'd prefer not that I can afford a preference at the moment. My superior ordered me to leave you both alone for the moment and you aren't my final goal regardless. Whatever you plan to do I shall follow."
"Hmm, I see your point... We shall come along, for now. Very well, let us go to this palace." He's no intention of allowing this damned hivemind to do as it wishes, and if the being in his demon were to go through the mind of Flynn's minion it would quickly realize that. Countless battles with the so-called forces of "Law" have not left him fond of those who control the will of others, nor is overly fond of pure Chaos, but Law holds a special place of hate in Flynn's heart. Still, for now playing along might be best... If it's even an option after that show.
In some attempt to smooth the whole incident over, Luard bows to the older man, casting a quick glance at the other residents, something like what he had expected their response to be, regardless, the young man glances back up at the older man, taking him to be the main shard at this point My apologies for my companion's.... Outburst. As you may have been able to tell by his impassioned speech he has a bit of a.... Past, with the concept of control. Regardless, if you truly seek to alter the plans, then I believe it would be best for us to follow you to the palace for now, after all, there's really no need to fight if it can be avoided, is there?
The older man's red eyes glisten as he steadies his glare. It seems he's a bit hesitant to respond but he begins smiling along with the other residents that begin backing up. It would seem that on closer inspection they all wear generic clothing as well, all of which are dyed red. After a moment of concentration only the man now speaks. "Yes, it really matters not which side you're on. It'll all be the same in the end...The man would look over towards the palace as a group of large mammals would be brought over by some of the residents. They would appear to have blue feathers but would be four-legged with the feet that would expect to belong to a bid. They would also possess the heads similar to what might be found on larger land-based birds. The older man would mount one of the creatures and gesture for Flynn and Luard to do the same before beginning to make his way to the police on the beast. "Well, hurry up! Don't keep me waiting in the palace for long."
The immediate crisis averted, Luard would sigh before heading to and mounting one of the mammals in question, it is interesting in many ways, and were there less time constraints he may have performed a full analysis on it, for now, Luard simply brings out his tablet and begins making notes as to the creature's general size, shape, feel of its feathers, and other simple observations anyone could make. He remains silent, then it occurs to him that he has no idea how to actually ride it.
Flynn sighs and gets onto one of the damned things... He can't help but feel like this is a poor plan, but even if it's a fight, he'd prefer not to simply murder everyone in his path. So, for now, he'll just play along, might be time to bring out that demon soon though...
Despite any inexperience they might have the creatures seem to be perfectly compliant as if trained for new riders. Perhaps the entities that came to this realm had no experience riding such creatures either. Regardless the creatures move forward at a much fast pace then it'd take to walk. After about an hour or so of riding the palace would stand right before them. Beauty would seem to be able to keep up with the minotaurs form but it would seem as if the demon itself was worn out. Beauty's colorful glow would begin to subside allowing the minotaur control to continue following Flynn normally. As the group entered the palace any who was paying careful attention might notice something odd. There were some strange violet spheres lingering above the palace walls as if watching the group enter. Beyond the walls would be giant garden surrounding the palace with a multitude of plants of both red and violet coloration. They would begin approaching the door into the main chamber of the palace but there was what appeared to be a girl just turning the corner around the palace moving through the garden. The red-eyed man didn't seem to notice her as he continued marching forward. The doors began opening as he dismounted from the creature and gestured for Flynn and Luard to follow him inside. A sudden pressure could be felt. It was an oppressive force of some kind almost beating against the two's minds and commanding them to obey but it was just a feeling and nothing that could actually make them submit. "Don't make me wait too much longer. I don't have much patience."
That feeling servess only to ignite a burning rebellion inside of Flynn, a large part of desires to call up the most horrid beasts he can and begin ordering them to murder as many as possible without a second thought. Still, he'll not give into doing the kind of things Lucifer would approve of, instead, the Minotaur vanishes into his COMP. He'd silently walk forward, that same smirk on his face as before while the man looks around... And what on earth was the deal with that girl? The foe didn't note her, but Flynn himself is paying far more attention to things it would seem.
Luard began to open his mouth, upon seeing the girl, considering Flynn's MO, he may very well be able to convince them to... The train of thought is lost when Luard feels that.... Oppression. Is this what it feels like to be those... Slaves, for lack of a better term? It matters not, the mere idea that this being would have the audacity to try ordering him, of all people... Luard takes a deep breath, glancing at Flynn for the moment, he, of course had hardly any clue what was going on, and that gives Luard a great, if somewhat wicked idea. Since the orb is following Flynn anyways, and the red-eyed man seems impatient, Luard attempts to silently break off and follow the girl around the corner
The red-eyed man already turned away and walking into the chamber wouldn't notice Luard breaking off from the group. Within the palace would be a long hall one might see in a royal palace and of course at the end of two long lines of red-eyed subjects is the king. A multitude of about 30-50 red sphere circles around the individual in the throne. They don't even appear to be that old with red hair and four eyes. Two eyes on each side of their face. Other than that and a slight red pigment to their skin they'd appear almost human but the aura around them is more oppressive as one might get closer. They smirk as if almost acknowledging Flynn's rebellion almost as if the idea of rebellion just makes them feel more engaged with the situation. "Finally, you made it. Welcome, outsider. You've probably already guessed it but I'm the concept of oppression in the flesh. Now, shall we cut to the chase? Hand over the embodiment of Beauty so that I may cast them out of this realm. This place and the people here belong to me and my sister now and ain't nothing gonna change that. Do I make myself clear?" Meanwhile, Laurd would follow the girl further into the garden. As he turns the corner he'd see the girl sitting with one of the small cat-like creatures from before in her lap. Unlike the ones before though this one had a violet glow in its eyes similar to the hair color of the girl and question and the many orbs floating around her and of course the pigment of her skin. She was petting the creature for some reason despite what should be obvious just by observing them.
Flynn is more observant than he appears, and he'd quickly tap a few buttons on his COMP after getting out of Luard's earshot and sigh. In a rather more subtle summoning than normal, a tiny young woman in a blue leotard with wings hovers before him. Pixie:"Heya boss, I'm guessing ya need something do quietly by that lack of our usual lightshow?" Flynn:"Yes quite, there's a man in a black coat, everyone else here is dressed the same he stands out badly, follow him, eavesdrop, tell me what you find out." Pixie: "Aye aye boss, I'll make sure that we don't lose out on too much info here. Hopefully, he doesn't pick a fight, I'd hate to have to turn him into ashes on the ground." With that, the Pixie would fly off in search of Luard, she'd find the corner he walked down fairly easily, and attempt to find shadows high up from which to watch the man. Flynn simply keeps following the red-eyed man at this point, he hates having to send her out alone... But Pixie's safety isn't really what worries him, more so the trouble she could stir up if this becomes a battle, God knows the little demon won't spare Luard's life if he angers her... Pixie would keep caught up with the man, she simply aims to listen on any talks between him and the woman, the boss did say to just gather info after all. Flynn stares up at the concept of oppression, simply seeing such a being is enough to make his blood boil. "I do not see why I should simply take your word for this, oddly enough the one who sent me here seemed quite sure that you have a body. That which lives can die, yet I am no fan of death. I am however curious, do you simply see lives as playthings for your amusement? Tools to be tossed aside without a second thought when you are done? I do not wish for violence to happen, but I will not allow you to simply kill the idea of Beauty either... Surely there is a better way? Is it possible to work something out between you two?" Flynn is almost sure that the answer here is no, and he can't exactly say that it would shock him... Beings of law such as this, they don't tend to be the most reasonable at all. He can't be sure of the other one, but at least it doesn't seem quite as keen on enslaving... Perhaps.
(edited by Flynn-of-Mikado)
Looking upon the scene, a few things become obvious to Luard, first, the girl in question, likely the red light's sister, at least that's what he had assumed so far, seemed to enjoy the presence of animals, she was much gentler than her brother, overall more compassionate, all factors that are likely to make her easier to talk to than the brother. At the moment, he needs to ensure her and the concept of Beauty are in the same place at the same time, to that end, Luard hides behind a pillar, quietly bringing out the silver blade he always keeps hidden in his cloak, and, after taking a bracing breath, uses it to cut a gash in his own side, its a little worse than he had intended, but the desired effect is had, leaving a cut across part of his cloak from which Luard can be seen bleeding, after hiding the blade once more, Luard limps out, towards the girl, tightly holding the wound at his side. Luard glances off to the sides, and is sure to add a hint of fear to his voice, all the better for the sake of his little act H... Hello? Is there anyone there? I... I need help... P.. Please? after "just noticing" the girl, Luard stops a fair distance away, holding his side in such a manner as to appear entirely non-threatening. He makes a show of widening his eyes as he glances at her own, violet color P... Purple... Not Red... T... That means you're not one of them, right? I... My friend.... Luard briefly glances about, as though panicked, or perhaps worried he might be caught at any moment, its somewhat of an elaborate trick, but perhaps the swiftest way to get some amount of pity.
Opression just smirk back at Flynn as if he just heard a joke. "I shouldn't have even expected a purely physical being like you to understand. No, more so that it's beyond your understanding. The way we think and feel is completely different than anyone you've probably ever met. Do I see people as playthings? No, I see them as things that my concept applies to and I must always follow the rules of my concept. It's not a matter of free-will even if we for some reason think we have that now. Tell me, do you really think we all just became what we are by chance? Believe it or not, at one point all us embodiments were non-sentient. All just simply beings of our own concepts and nothing more. Like...machines...We only had those rules and nothing else. It was the light that gave us all this...curse. To think and feel as more than just a concept. For some its the highest form of enlightenment. For me, it just means I'm that much more aware of what I'm doing. Then, there's my sister... She had to rewrite her own rules because of it so she's burdened with a vow to never harm others in any way. That's why the concept of beauty is appealing to her. It'd overwrite her own rules further and free her but like hell will I let some foreign being take my only family from me. So Beauty must not be allowed to remain in this realm. Now, you can either hand over the concept of Beauty so that I may destroy it or futility resist. It's your choice and believe me when I say that I'd love for you to become another extension of my will." With the mere snap of his fingers all the subjects lining the hall pull out strange spears with electricity running through the blades on top of them. Around 30 of them surround Flynn and Oppression as the orbs continue circling around them. The girl with the violet-hair would get up from the bench with a composed but worried glance. Even her voice was calm as she approached Luard. "That injury, did Oppression do this? He shouldn't be attacking people. Hold on, I'll heal you so just stay calm." One of the violet orbs would approach Laurd where he's wounded and begin radiating with a strange light. The injury would seem to begin to close to at very least stop the bleeding but it wouldn't be healed completely. The girl had to focus intently as the cat-like creature climbed up to her shoulder.
Pixie simply watches with a mix of shock and disgust, in part she wants to blow Luard's cover... But Flynn said to watch, not meddle as she sees fit, so the tiny demon stays inside the shadows and quietly seethes. "I see, so you would deny her wishes simply to keep her with you? I do not speak for anyone else, but that does not seem like a good way of showing one's love to me. Perhaps if she desires this, she should be allowed to have it?" Flynn isn't willing to give up the ghost yet, and he senses a great deal of feeling... The being before him seems to care for the idea of family, so the samurai shall attempt to strike at that point. "I will not stand between you, for your reasons are... Understandable, but I do believe you should take your sister's feelings into account more, if this is what she truly desires, then is not horribly cruel to her for you to slay this being? I understand not wishing to lose someone, but should those we value not be allowed to make their own choices freely?"
Luard breathes a real sigh of relief as the injury begins to close, at least enough to stop bleeding, that much was due to his own carelessness, he never heard the name oppression, making his confusion genuine and audible O... I never got a name... T... They had red eyes... All of them... There were so many.... I'm just a researcher.... with his injury mostly healed, Luard would step back, getting a little distance from the orb, he eyes the orb curiously for a moment, before looking back towards the throne room P... I.. I'll be fine... B.. But... M... My friend is still in there... as he is mostly healed, collapsing isn't much of an option, though, instead, Luard gets down on his knees in a begging position, occasionally glancing back towards the throne room between pleas I... Is there anything you can do to help him? I... Y... Maybe you could talk? I... Luard would take deep, calming breaths, so far as Luard knows, his main objective is to get the girl and Beauty in the same room, the closer the better, after that hopefully the issue would resolve itself
Opression would just give Flynn a tired look while still smirking. "Sorry, but that's against the rules. I can't just change my mind like you humans do. That's what makes your minds so weak. Free choice? That's never been a choice. I'm the embodiment of Oppression and her the embodiment of Control. Control might be able to become someone's own self-control but oppression always has to oppress even if it hurts those around them. Maybe a sorry existence but I intend to play my role out to the bitter end regardless of what others might think. Now, enough talking. It's time for you to be oppressed as well." Two of the red orbs would fly down attempting to hit Flynn directly and try to fuse into him. If one of the orbs can land this might be the end of him and his ability to choose how this all ends. Meanwhile, one of the subjects would step forth and attempt to stun him by shocking him with the sphere. Control would hesitate for a moment to think but then nod her head. "Alright, I'll see if I can convince my brother to allow you and your friend to leave unharmed. That shouldn't be too much to ask of him. Attacking strangers is too far even for him. Come with me, I promise you won't be hurt anymore." She would wave to him as she walks towards a side door leading into the main chamber room of the palace, waiting for Laurd to follow before entering.
Luard simply nods and follows Control, occasionally glancing around fearfully, as though still worried he might be chased. Regardless, Luard stammers out a brief thanks I.. T... Thank you madame. Y.. You're a saint. since his injury is fine now, Luard would stand tall and walk straight in order to follow the girl, now he can only hope that this Beauty would really be able to solve the issue at hand, after all, Luard has effectively picked a side now, not much in the way of going back to be had
Even as the orbs begin to fly, his demons would already be taking shape, Loki once more, as well as the Minotaur, and finally, a man dressed in a yellow kimono and holding a katana. Flynn would quickly dash aside from the orbs, the man's blow that was aimed toward him would find itself halted by a very angry Minotaur taking it on instead, the beast would roar in rage and attempt to slam its fist straight into his skull. "I see, your existence does sound quite sorry yes. I will attempt to make your death as quick as possible, concepts may live on, but I shall put an end to this body of yours. Please, do not make this more painful than it must be." Flynn makes a bold move, he'd dart toward the main body of Oppression as a white glow takes shape around his katana, assuming that things are as Light claimed and the foe can be struck, the almighty energy coating the blade would hopefully slice right through as Flynn moves with blinding speed. And assuming it did, then their foe would now find himself very weak to force. On that note, Loki would send a wave of it flying right at him, Zandyne taking shape in the demon's hands before rushing out as a simple blast of force aimed toward Oppression. Finally, Masakado would raise its hands as a glowing white almighty energy takes shape in them, it would rush out in the form of an arrow to try and strike out at all their foes, one for each in the room, and those who are struck by it would find themselves taking the damage as though they were weak to almighty.
Control and Laurd would enter the room to find the group of red-eyed subjects surrounding Flynn as red orbs flew around the room. Control would step up near where the fighting was taking place and begin raising her voice. Control: "Brother, stop this! Let these people go! Harming outsiders is taking things much too far!" Her shouting would fall on deaf ears as they all were much too busy fighting each other to heed her. Flynn's initial strike to make Oppression weak to force would be much too fast for him to anticipate but the blast of force would be blocked as an orb came down forming a shield of sorts. The orb would break upon being hit by the force and shatter before vanishing completely. 29 orbs remained. The subject trying to stab out at Flynn would be knocked to the ground as the red vanished from their eyes. They were now unconscious and it seems Beauty's presence had freed them. The wave of almighty would be blocked from hitting Oppression by a group of the subject who would all get hit wiping out an entire ring of them. 19 subjects remaining. Oppression would just smile in response to Flynn's word as he sent out three more orbs. This time the orbs would remain in the center of Flynn in his demons before bursting into a blast of smoke and fire. The subjects would now stand between Flynn and Oppression attempting to shield him from any attacks Flynn and his demons might send out. Oppression: "This is exactly what I wanted! To exercise my power and rule over others! This is what I was born for! Now, hero, end the life of the villain before you! Then and only then will my fate finally reach its end! Tyrant and kings, those who rule with power always fall. That's the way it should be." Control hearing Oppressions words would take a step back with a look of shock. Control: "Brother...what are you...?"
Luard glances around the situation in genuine shock, he hadn't thought it likely to get this violent without his presence, Luard sighs and steps to Control's side, rapidly drawing a pair of circles in front of him Well, this is a right mess, isn't it? My apologies for pretending to be so useless milady, it seemed like the best way to get you here, though I am sad to say it may be past the point where talking is of use, if nothing else, there is another way to stop your brother, and though I know not the details, he shouldn't have to die. his piece said, Luard finishes drawing the runes, the border of the circle would be filled with various, zig-zagging marks, many of which resembled thunderbolts, Luard aims the circles to a point in the ceiling between Flynn and Oppression, before sending out an arc of lightning in hopes of cracking the ceiling and causing some rubble to fall, hopefully getting everyone's attention to further his point, Luard shouts I believe there is someone you forgot to consult, everyone, cease your pointless bickering, lets try to resolve this like actual, intelligent beings.
Those who... Hahaha, oh how amusing it is to hear such things. He isn't wrong of course, but to see such a being act this self-aware? It's rather stunning, he's used to the blind and self-righteous idiocy of angels, for a moment Flynn is at a loss for words, the shouts of Control would cause him to hold a hand up to his demons for a moment, their attacks coming to a sudden halt as they heed their master. "I see, so that is what you have known this whole time... I must admit, it is rather shocking for me to hear, most of the time I would not grant such a request... Part of me feels as if I should, but yes the man in black has a point. Though I am not entirely sure it shall be so simple to work out, all things considered. Still, I am hopeful that we can work something else out, now that she is here..." Flynn would simply stand back for now, absently taping a button on his COMP, unseen to anyone else nearby that act would actually dismiss the Pixie who had been following Luard, he'll ask her about the man's actions later. At the moment, he simply watches and prepares to defend himself if need be, perhaps Luard is right that they should attempt to talk things out. Flynn isn't quite sure it will work, but the thing's family no doubt has better chances than he does, so he'll give her a shot... He'd have to quickly step back as a bit of rubble nearly crushes him, however, magic hmm? No shock, but what sort is this one? Persona? Demons? Something else?
Oppression seeing his sister would immediately frown. It wasn't a look of annoyance or a scowl but simply a miserable look. The king who oppressed all before him knew that there was one weakness to his concept and that was his own lack of control. Now that Control was here he couldn't use that excuse anymore. Oppression: "Sister, I..." The stone in Luard's pocket suddenly began lighting up brightly once more as it began to resonate with a power the laid dormant all along. The stone began floating to the room's center and a bright light would emanate from within. The lights voice would once again speak with absolute clarity. Light: "A touching reunion I'm sure but I do not believe this was your task, humans." Suddenly both Control and Oppression would look fearful at the presence. Light: "Did I not make myself clear from the beginning? Control does not need Oppression. The freedom of the light comes before all else." From the stone a burst of energy would sprout. Meian would appear before everyone with a ball of light energy floating around him. Meian at very least seemed to be themselves but they remained quiet and simply observed. From Flynn's Minotaur, the orb of many colors would once again emerge before standing near the light as well.
for a while, Luard had forgotten he even had the stone, so little had it mattered to him, yet, right now, in some ways he was glad for it. Luard sighs, finally leaving control's side to stand off on his own, Luard leans against a nearby wall, flashing a wicked grin while shrugging his shoulders My intent was to give Beauty an opportunity to take his preferred vessel, from where they would be able to handle Oppression without me needing to lift a finger. In order to do so, I had to bring the vessel in question to the same area where Beauty was, unfortunately that happened to be an active war zone between Oppression Luard gestures over to the red-eyed figure in question, before making another towards Flynn and my little companion here. But, to his credit, he did at least find Beauty, giving me the chance to even attempt such an act.
"I do not believe I am bound to follow a task set forth, my goal is to do as I feel needs to be done not that which I am told. I kill when I must, yet here I see another path and thus I shall attempt to take it, regardless of what you feel." Flynn shrugs, he was expecting something akin to those damned angels that simply wished to rule for the sake of being in charge. Instead... Whatever he may be, Oppression is clearly not pure evil, the concept itself is not a good thing to be sure, and yet that which represents it does have some redeeming traits. "Besides that, I do not seem to recall saying that he must die, I said that I would free these people and that shall happen one way or another, and if Oppression must be slain for that to happen so be it. But I would prefer to avoid such a thing happening, I am not your servant any more than I am his, Light. As for you Luard, I have no idea what to make of you, but your plan is... Not all that savory from where I am standing, yet I cannot blame you for coming up with such a thing. All in all, I simply care that the people of this world be free, the rest will work itself out from there."
The mass of light would seep into Meian once more as the child was overtaken by the light. The light would speak through Meian clearly but with an almost apologetic tone. "Of course not, it was my mistake." Their eyes seem to light up as suddenly a prism of light forms around Oppression. Light: "Let me ask both of you. Do you truly think this being can live as a sentient creature without abusing their light? Are you willing to take responsibility under the case that your assumption is wrong? Believe me when I tell you that I will make sure you are accountable for anything that happens from this point onward. Even from the beginning, I told you that the choice was yours. I never intended to influence your will in any way. Now that we are all here though I must ensure that the free-will of all involved is protected at all cost." The sphere representing Beauty would fly toward Control. The girl would hold the orb in her hand before finally accepting it with a smile. A dramatic shift in her energy would begin taking place as her whole body radiated with the glow of many colors. Her eyes and even her hair would now take on the same multitude of colors that seemed to be flowing freely. She would once again speak but her voice would sound like that of an angel singing. Beauty: "Finally, both vessel and embodiment are free. I've reached my preferred form thanks to you in the black cloak. I believe I owe you. How strange it is to say that I owe a physical being but that's why I admire the physical world so, it's capable of so much and yet also so little."
Luard grins, he casts Flynn a sideways glance, the man claimed to be a samurai, yes? Of course he would have some major sense of honor, it was an inevitable difference between the two. After eyeing Flynn for a moment, Luard shrugs, before looking back at the Light In all honesty, it hardly matters to me whether or not Oppression can live peacefully, as I requested from the beginning, I would like to finish him off myself, after all... Luard looks over at Oppression, carefully studying his physical form, as he only has his eyes for the moment, he looks at Oppression, not as another sentient being, but rather, as one would look over a favorite toy, or a particularly interesting animal They're so very... Unique. Interesting. It would be a shame to let all that potential go to waste. Finally, Luard looks over to Beauty, they do seem much happier now, a mere side effect of his intent, but most would argue a good one, Luard himself would seem rather careless on the matter, stretching a little before addressing them Do not thank me, your current state was simply highly convenient for me. Though, I suppose I might have a simple request, assuming you have the ability to split off parts of yourself like Control and Oppression could.
"I do not wish to see any senseless death, but if Oppression truly wishes to die as a tyrant than I shall not stop that from happening..." He'd look toward the being that moments ago had asked to be slain, indeed it would seem to him as if it's unlikely... Yet even so, it's simply not right to cut someone down because they are likely to cause issues later on. "As for if he abuses it? I would gladly cut him down myself in that event, and I would ask you send me back here to correct what I have left behind. As I said before, the people of this place will be free, if he wishes to infringe upon that then I shall not allow it. Yet, I would argue he ought to be given a chance, no more than one though." There's a deadly serious tone and a burning look in the man's eyes as he stares down Light, he really would prefer if it doesn't come to that, but he will not allow the freedom of these people to be taken. If that is something Oppression simply cannot stop doing, then he shall have to perish.
The light prism would fade away freeing Oppression. Meian would simply gaze over towards them as they instead walk to the wall and press their hand against it causing the surface to melt into a pool of light. The light would glow brightly as Meian looked back. Light: "It seems I shall leave the decision in your hands, after all. If you want to cut them down for experimentation then feel free to do so or if you want to let them live to give them another chance then that's your choice as well. I will depart for now. I believe I have a few promises to keep but forgive me if I have to delay that until later. There is much else I need to get done." Maein would step into the pool of light disappearing beneath it but also leaving it open for anyone to use. Oppression would look over to his sister now fused with Beauty. He looked confused like a lost animal but he also smiled even if only a little. Oppression: "I...think its time I go back to my own realm. This world is...getting a bit boring for me." Beauty would look back towards Laurd before bringing out a multicolored glowing sphere in her hand. Beauty: "Something like this or did you want the pure essence of control? I'm sorry to say that control's power doesn't exist separate from mine any longer."
Luard looks at Beauty's sphere for a moment, before reaching out with his right arm to accept it, a thin veil of energy covers his hand, to allow more ease of handling it, Luard grins, nodding to Beauty as he closes his hand around the sphere No, this will suffice. Purity is a non-issue for me, it simply gives me more to do. Thank you for being so understanding. after accepting Beauty's sphere, Luard would approach Oppression, transferring Beauty's sphere to another area within his cloak To be honest, as my companion would prefer, I can easily live with letting you go. I would simply like a fragment of your self, much as I asked Beauty. That is the request I had this entire time. As you seem to be able to willingly separate, I trust this isn't too much to ask. Afterwards, I don't really care what you do.
Oppression quickly brings up an orb of his red energy and tosses it over to Luard. Oppression: "Happy now? Try not to touch it directly. I don't think I really would want direct access to your mind. Something already tells me that might be a bad idea." Oppression would begin walking away towards the throne as an orb came down and flattened itself onto the floor until a red pool formed before him. Oppression: "Guess, I'll be leaving now. Beauty, you better take care of my sister otherwise I'm coming back to get rid of you for good." The embodiment would step into the pool before sinking in. The pool would quickly begin drying up before vanishing.
"Well then, I see no issues with that... I would make one more request, is anyone here able to send us back to where we came from? Well, in my case I'd prefer to go back to my own home, but I believe that might be well beyond your power." As awful as things can be there, he's got a job to do back home... Still, he won't find a way to go back without asking, and if it fails he might as well keep sorting things out. No sense in refusing to help these people simply because they're not of his world after all.
Beauty would gesture towards the pool of light left by Meian. Beauty: "That should take you back. I believe it was left for you intentionally though Light really should describe their intent better. They tend to forget how little physical beings understand at times."
