A Mind Alight
The industrial region of Tokyo was familiar to many companies, with new ones rising up and falling while the old guard maintains their positions near the top. This dance among the lower groups often leaves vacancies in the area, where one company once functioned there would now be little evidence beyond their leftover warehouses. However, in spite of the inherent noise in the area from the many cars and deliveries to be had, a few workers began... Hearing things. Strange lights and sounds had become known to come from one of these warehouses, leading to rumors of it being haunted. Of course, no one had bothered to check yet, but it would only be a matter of time before someone got adventurous, or otherwise was dared to check it out.
A young man with messy brown hair and casual looking clothes would be riding on a scooter of sorts before stopping in front of the warehouse. His eyes would noticeably be closed but he didn't actually seem to have any trouble seeing. There was a strange small monkey-like creature that had appeared on his shoulder from out of nowhere but he didn't seem surprised by that as he stared at the warehouse. "Ah, Sonic. There you are. I've been looking for you y'know." Suddenly the monkey would seem to vanish from sight as it jumped off Leo's shoulder leaving him in surprise. He would suddenly get off the scooter removing his helmet as he wandered into the warehouse shouting for the monkey, despite it not having been seen going inside to any other who might've been watching. "Sonic! Wait! Where are you going!?!"
Leo enters the warehouse, opening its door to, at first find nothing out of the ordinary, there would be a brief entry section that didn't seem to hold anything of importance. Its when Leo enters the storage area that some.. Unusual things would be obvious. First, there are two long rows of shelves, filled with nothing but boxes with a soft, velvety material as padding. In the center of each box would be a gem of varying colors, mostly greens, blues, and yellows, however, on the higher shelves there are a few of more... Unusual colors, such as one that's the deepest crimson, one that shines with all the colors of the rainbow, and one of the darkest black. There's a stepladder nearby to help reach the higher shelves. Meanwhile, a faint noise can be heard coming from the backside of the warehouse, mostly a rustling noise as though someone were rushing about. The two shelves make a convenient little hallway to the closed door from which the sound originates
Leo would look around the warehouse a little scared at its creepy nature. It was like a place from a horror film to him which means there might've been ghosts of some kind or something else frightening. He'd jump as he began hearing noises from the door from the backside of the warehouse and begin to really become scared. Slowly he would approach the door, his eyes still closed but his fear easy to read on his face. "S-sonic...? I-is that y-you?" Knowing what he must do he would slowly begin to try and open the door. His eyes would open very slightly as if in self-defense as a light blue glow might be seen emanating from within his eyelids. "H-hello? Sorry for entering without asking..."
Naoya was just walking around for a bit before seeing the warehouse... "Hey...isn't that...?" He said aloud to himself as he remembers it was the warehouse that was rumored to be haunted. He stops and thinks for a good minute or so before deciding to walk in, "If I wasn't a Persona user...I would have walked away for sure...good thing I've dealt with ghosts before..." he stated, as he opened the door and came in, seeing a man inside, "Hey, what are you doing here?" he asks, as he tries to keep his guard up in case he may be a ghost or so
(edited by Naoya_Toudou)
Suddenly, a dimensional rift opened only partly away from the warehouse. A silver-haired boy stands in front of it, just walking out. He's clearly in a bad state and he sees the warehouse. He looks around and writes something down. "Odd... I-I don't want to go there right now... B-But I feel I have to..."
Leo would find the door opening easily, in fact it doesn't even seem to possess a lock, let alone be using one. Immediately inside is a small office area, or used to be anyways, where there used to be paperwork is no more than a strange collection of materials such as chalk, various herbs and candles, and for some reason a bobblehead of some anime character. None of it seems particularly important Of more interest is what lies on the other side of the doorway, its a wide, open area with little in the way of decoration, instead, a cloaked figure can be seen moving around a pair of large circles that has been drawn on the floor. Between the circles are a series of six runes, none of which seem to resemble much of anything. On each of these runes is a gem, much like the ones Leo had seen earlier, two green, two blue, two yellow, each on opposing sides of the circle from each other. Upon first glance there seems to be a body in the center, yet upon further inspection the joints and lack of detail in the face become obvious, giving it an appearance much more like that of a puppet than anything else. Finally, a dark-cloaked figure is standing near the circle, he briefly cracks his knuckles, as though proud of his work, only to overhear Leo and turn towards the door, tilting his head as he does so As Leonardo had before him, Naoya would enter the warehouse to find little of interest outside the main storage area, in which there are two long rows of shelves, filled with nothing but boxes with a soft, velvety material as padding. In addition, he is able to see Leonardo looking through a back door between the two rows of shelves
Naoya looks at the gems in curiosity, "I've never seen these gems before...not really during one of my travels, but still..." He said to himself before seeing Jason come in, "Hey, if you're someone who can take care of supernatural stuff, I don't blame you to come in, but if not, then get out of here..." he said, as he then notices the door where Leonardo is, taking his interest off the gems and on Leonardo, "Wait a second..." he said, as he looks through the back door between the two rows of boxes that contain gems to see him. He cautiously awaits what may happen. If the shadowy figure is to harm the boy, he would have to storm in and take him on.
Leo's first reaction would be that this was a demonic ritual of some kind. He would begin shivering more as his eyes would open all the way revealing the patterns embedded all over them. Strange unknown symbols would be glowing in a blue light forming circles leading to his pupils. With the eyes fully open they'd immediately begin seeking the truth of the world. Leo would now detect the aura of those nearby and be able to tell if they were human or not and how much power exactly they possessed although only vaguely as he could only measure this by an invisible aura surrounding them and its color. Leo would stagger back a bit looking at the figure before turning back to Naoya and automatically already be able to tell that Naoya was human. "S-sorry to intrude!!!" He begins backing up once more and stepping away from the doorway before crashing into a wall and falling down.
"Supernatural..?" His skin was pale, and he carried a black notebook with him. "I-If it's something to do with Personas, I can handle that... Shinigami too, probably..." He adjusts his grip on the book, even though he's still clutching onto it for dear life.
Looking around the area, Leonardo would be able to tell that the cloaked figure was not only human, but somewhat stronger than average, it would be nothing particularly impressive, he's probably seen several more powerful entities than the cloaked figure before him. In addition to this, he would notice more about the magic circle, each of the gems generates a weak aura of their own, the green two would be that of various monsters, the blue two would give an aura similar to that of humans, and finally the yellow two would seem to give off pure energy, as though it hadn't come from anywhere. Faint lines of energy seem to connect the gems to the puppet in the middle, though very little is happening there as of now. With Jason and Naoya having caught up to Leo, they would both see the room as described above, cloaked figure slowly approaching as he removes his hood. Now able to see the cloaked figure's face, Jason, Naoya, and Leo would catch sight of his short, black hair, an unruly mess about his head, almost as though he simply hadn't thought to groom in a while, in addition, his eyes are a faintly golden honeydew, in stark contrast to the figure's dark outfit. With a sigh, the man would finally see fit to speak up No need to be so nervous, unless you happen to have touched something. These gems are very fragile, and in most cases entirely impossible to replace. Just hold still for a moment. With that, the cloaked figure would rapidly draw another pair of circles in the air with his left hand, if no one feels the need to interrupt him, he would thrust his palm into the center of the circles, sending out a faint pulse to resonate with the life energy of those present, giving him a vague idea of their vital signs, things like heart rate, and breathing, in addition to looking to sense any supernatural power on or around them.
"Ah crap, I don't know what to do... If only Yuko was here..." He flipped through his notebook and clicked a pen, then realizing something. "..Crap, I don't know that thing's name..."
"Keep your guard up right now, fellow Persona user..." Naoya said, as he calmly watches the unhooded man doing some circles and so whilst keeping his hand on the handle of his sword. Naoya's gaze is a bit intense as he tries to predict in his mind what may happen next.
"I-I'll try... J-Just not in the best state..." He pulls his mask from his hoodie pocket and keeps it handy from here on out.
Leo would begin to relax upon seeing that the cloaked figure wasn't some unknown entity but a human being. He would get back on his feet and look around now with his eyes open. He wasn't sure what was going on but if there were no ghosts involved then it wasn't that strange from his everyday life back home. Leo would look over to Jason as well to ensure that his paler skin didn't mean that he was a ghost or something. The glowing eyes would seem to almost stare straight through him but they in truth would only be looking for a possible aura to indicate what he was exactly. "Sorry, I really need to stop watching so many horror films. I'll try to be careful. Oh, uh, sorry for being rude but I'm Leonardo Watch. Would you mind giving me your name as well?" The scan would return the result of Leo being a completely average healthy human being. No magic, no super strength, and no supernatural circumstances. In almost every aspect he was a normal human save for his head. From his eyes, a massive amount of energy would be stored on a level that possibly could be compared to that of a nuclear bomb. His brain itself seemed to have been adjusted to handle these eyes overtime as well.
"..J-Jason. Jason Shinegimi Quinlan." He adjusts his glasses. "N-Nice to meet you."
"I guess I should introduce myself too..." Naoya said, as he fidles with the earing on his right ear, "I'm Naoya Toudou, nice to meet both of you." he said, before touching his face a little, thinking about the fact that there were more persona users than he thought, "Say, did you make contact with Philemon already Jason?" he asks.
"Phil...emon?" He stands confused, fiddling with his glasses. "I'm... not sure what you mean."
Naoya sighs as he puts his hand to his face as he sighs in disappointment, "The guy who grants people persona powers, unless you defeated your shadow like some people...how did you get yours then?" he asks, slightly disappointed about the fact that Philemon is more absent in these new persona users.
His scan done, the cloaked man sighs, he takes a bit of a closer look at Leo, staring directly into his eyes, some sort of powerful ability, considering his generally low readings elsewhere, it is likely to be either a blessing or an artifact, after looking over Leo for a moment, the cloaked man nods My name is Luard, I'm a researcher by trade, looking into all sorts of supernatural occurences. For example, those eyes of yours, you wouldn't happen to be willing to donate them for my research would you? I can wait for you to die first if you prefer, with that much energy in one spot its probably only a matter of time. With his little note to Leonardo finished, Luard turns to Naoya next, almost as though inspecting a prime specimen, he briefly looks over Naoya before mentioning As far as I can tell you're the only persona-user present. The power of identity as it is called. Regardless, would you be willing to act as a sort of test subject for me? I ask for rather little, simply to be allowed to remotely scan you twenty-four seven for a little over a week as you go about your regular life. Whatever that is, I don't really care what you do, its the readings that are important. Luard briefly looks over to Jason, eyebrow raised, he didn't seem to possess much of anything himself, but perhaps Luard's scan simply overlooked it. An unfortunate glitch, but nothing of import
"I... was in Mementos, and... me and the person I was with encountered my shadow. He... had both of us cornered, so... I awakened to my initial Persona. Agamemnon." He examined his mask more.
"Mementos...Someplace in the nexus I think?" Naoya said as he turns back to Luard, "You won't find much about my usual life...unless when I use my persona, speaking of, would you allow me to demonstrate?" Naoya asked slightly up beat...somewhat of a remnant of another personality dwelling beneath his subconscious.
Leo would once again grow nervous at the mention of his eyes. The subject of his eyes being removed seemed to bother him a lot as it would most but he almost looked used to people saying things like that. "I don't think that'd be a good idea to remove them. I was told by a doctor once that having them removed in exchange for normal eyes might be seen as interfering with the contract that was made when I got them which can have consequences I'm unaware of. Otherwise, I'd rather keep living if you don't mind though I don't know if these eyes would even keep their power after I die anyway."
"Not in the nexus." He assured Naoya. "In the cognitive world. Hard to access..."
Luard sighs and nervously glances around the room, the circle is still there, just as Luard left it, the young man rapidly shakes his head before looking back at Naoya I would simply scan you for the fluctuations of energy involved when you use that persona of yours. Though I would appreciate if you did not feel the need to demonstrate in my lab, there are too many fragile objects. next Luard looks back over to Leo, so it was a blessing of some kind, no matter, the scientist shrugs before walking back to the large circles near the middle of the room For the record, I wasn't threatening to kill you or anything, Its more like donating your body to science post-mortum, it happens occasionally even among normal society, though most people prefer a funeral. My point being it would simply happen whenever, no additional risks for you. finally, almost as though he had forgotten his guests, Luard would bend down near the edge of the circle, between two of the six gems scattered around it, before Luard thrusts his palm down to the circle's edge. With this, it would slowly begin to glow a faint red, growing stronger over time.
He finally notices the circle. He's visibly worried and steps back. "W-What is that?! A-Are we gonna d-die?!" He steps back and pulls a dagger.
Leo would look over to where Luard was. He had gotten a strange aura reading from the gemstones earlier but he didn't think to ask about what was going on. Despite being in another world he still had a job to do even if his job became quite a lot harder. "What are you doing here anyway? It's nothing dangerous, right? You don't seem like a particularly bad person, so...Oh, you said you were a researcher! So this must be an experiment of some kind. What are those gems anyway? They seem to have a life force of their own."
The circle's glow would fade for a moment as Luard looks back at his... Companions. Jason almost seems ready to fight, definitely not something Luard can afford in his own lab. But unfortunately he can't think of much to do about it, so for now he focuses his attention on Leo So far its perfectly safe, though I have yet to really succeed, if I did then, well who knows what might happen? As for the gems.... I think it would be best if I showed you Without further comment, Luard would focus his attention back on the circle, if Leo is still using his eyes he might notice Luard's aura grow slightly fainter as his energy spreads throughout the now glowing circle. Once the whole circle is lit up, Luard steps back, his part apparently finished. Now the gems would glow slightly, a faint stream of energy going from them to the puppet in the middle. To answer your question, those gems are the last remaining piece of some being's life force, each of them unique. As for the experiment, its about to conclude, really the set-up was the hardest part after all
He puts his dagger back in his pocket and looks at the portal again. "Explain why this... portal was opened."
Leo would back up a bit to observe the experiment from a safe distance. He noticed Jason panicking and decided to try to say something to comfort him. "I wouldn't worry too much. It's not like this experiment would destroy reality or anything. You'd need a much larger area for something like that. Oh, and it'd require a lot of power. At worst this might be some form of alchemy to create a demon-beast but I've never actually seen anyone use alchemy so I wouldn't even know how that would work." Maybe not the most comforting to some but to Leo these words would put most from his own world at ease. Random monster attacks were pretty common but as long as you had the street smarts you knew how to survive them. Regardless he'd begin focusing back on the experiment using his eyes to see exactly how the energy was flowing. His suggestion of creating a monster might not have been too far off though it seemed to be not as much of a monster as something else. "Seems like your transferring energy to that puppet. Are you bringing it to life? That's actually pretty cool. Well, as long as it doesn't go crazy and start attacking people...hahah..." He would give a bit of a nervous laugh at the end but it was more to comfort himself as he was always afraid that telling jokes like that would jinx them to come true.
The second this Leo said alerted him and he put his mask on, changing him into his Metaverse outfit, or Trickster's Admiration. "If there's a chance I'm putting this on." He looks behind himself to check for anything.
Luard breaths a sigh of frustration, of course he supposes this is some attempt at small talk, but for the moment he is focused on the experiment Just watch, it wouldn't be an experiment if I knew the results. In spite of his words, Luard seems a little downcast, almost as though he disliked what he was expecting. As for the experiment, it seems to be going smoothly, the gemstones' aura doesn't seem to change too much as their energy flows into the puppet, soon, the puppet begins generating a small aura of its own, though it doesn't seem to belong to a human or monster. In fact, it most closely resembles that around the yellow gemstones, but larger. Finally, the circle ceases glowing, leaving the gems to their own energy. Similarly, an aura emits from the puppet in the center, yet it doesn't seem to be moving. After a few moments Luard sighs and shakes his head Looks like another failure. at this point I'd be glad if it randomly decided to attack me.
Leo would stare at the puppet strangely noticing the aura. He hadn't seen something inanimate being given an aura so it was odd to him yet he decided to let the puppet be as he wouldn't want to potentially interfere with anything Laurd wanted to do with it afterward. "Hmm...I guess I'm not much of scientist myself so I don't think I could really say or do anything to help but it looked like whatever you were trying to do was going to work with that aura around the puppet. I guess maybe it'd take more than just energy to bring something to life though."
He takes a vial of... something. It's a deep red substance, and he shakes it. "Consider adding this, it may help."
(Wrong account, oof)
OOC: Its fine Jason. IC: I wish that were the issue, would be much easier to fix if it were simply non-living, just watch. Luard briefly glances back at his companions, looking over to the vial in Jason's hand for a moment before clearing his throat Subject twenty-one, stand up. As soon as the order is given, the puppet begins to slowly but surely get to its feet, its awkward joints making it difficult for the being to progress. Luard simply sighs in disappointment, shaking his head before giving the next order. Subject twenty-one, come here. Having gotten to its feet, the puppet would slowly lurch towards the group, its limbs offering a somewhat awkward yet robotic gait to its stride as it walks towards Luard. As you can see, it is, by most standards, alive, it is capable of moving under its own power and possesses a life force. Unfortunately, I am not after just that, its relatively simple to create a mindless drone in that way, however, they're little more than just a machine. His piece said, Luard would reach out into the puppet's chest, left hand going straight through the wooden material as though it weren't there, the puppet's aura would slowly fade away, or rather, it would shrink and transfer itself to an area in the puppet's chest near Luard's hand. Seconds later, Luard would remove his arm, bringing a yellow gem with it. Have you ever seen a real, living being follow orders so well? It goes against nature, though these things may be able to move, they're far from being truly alive
"I see..." He looks around a bit more. "I asked this before but I believe it was overlooked, what is this place?"
OOC: sorry, I was busy shopping for a bitNaoya looked at Jason as he changed into his trickster outfit, "A...immediate change of outfit? That's a new one..." Naoya noted to himself before he looked at the puppet, "Being truly alive...? I don't like the sound of that, honestly..." He said silently as he summons his Persona, Seimen Kongou, a purple humanoid being with blue flames encircling it. "Let's be prepared just in case..."
(edited by Naoya_Toudou)
"I suppose I should be prepared too... Come, Osiris!" Osiris appears behind him, it's golden locket shining in the dimly lit room.
OOC: Not sure if there'd be any point jumping in now, but if it's alright I guess I'll join.
OOC: Go for it, I don't really mind. Its somewhat of a bizarre semi-casual anyways
[A young woman with a bored expression wanders through the night. Her eyes pass over various buildings without even a second glance, right up until she spots the one those odd noises have been coming from.] "Hmm... I just wonder, what might be in here? Hearing things, strange lights, all kinds of rumors abound, a spirit perhaps? Or maybe some Magus has set up shop and not bothered to hide very well? Either way, it might just turn into something interesting if I check this out." [That in might, Shiki would lazily walk through whatever entry is most apparent. She's not feeling the need to treat this like a serious break-in or something. Not when it's just rumors and guesswork on her part. But, She would check around corners and look up at the roof now and then as she walks through the place, no sense being utterly off guard after all.]
Jason notices her and jumps out of pure fear. He pulls his gun and aims at her. "S-State your business!
(edited by Jason_S_Quinlan)
"Calm down for a second Jason, don't jump the gun like that." Naoya said as he motioned his hand to lower Jason's gun. "Who are you, are you friend or foe?" he asks the lady, slightly intensifying his gaze at her.
"Jump the gun? More like PULL THE GUN! WHO THE HELL ARE YOU?!" He knock's Naoya's hand off his custom made 9mm.
OOC: I was hoping to wait for Leo, but I suppose if they're busy. IC: Without its energy, the puppet would soon collapse to the ground, returned to its regular, lifeless shape. Luard sighs and places the yellow gem in his hand to an area within his cloak. Overhearing Naoya and Jason freaking out, Luard briefly turns around, only to meet their personas. Luard clenches his teeth, before shouting. I JUST ASKED YOU NOT TO SUMMON THOSE IN HERE, MY RESEARCH STATION IS VERY FRAGILE, I WILL NOT HAVE YOU BREAKING MY IMPORTANT THINGS. As there is only one real entrance, Shiki enters through the same door all the others had, at first there wouldn't be anything out of the ordinary, just a small greeting area. Its when she gets to the main warehouse that she begins to find something unusual. The large, central area of most warehouses is largely empty aside from two long rows of shelves, filled with nothing but boxes with a soft, velvety material as padding. Looking around the shelves, she would soon see a door, with the space between shelves acting as a sort of hallway between them, That's when she hears a shout coming from the back room
"Tch! do you really have to be THAT paranoid?" He said irritably, but he doesn't try to put his hand on Jason's gun again. He then looks back at Luard, "I'm sorry about that..." he says as he does a bit of a bowing motion before turning to Jason, "Also, we should be more mindful about that later..."
(edited by Naoya_Toudou)
"Who said we'd break anything?" Jason chuckles sarcastically.
[Hmm, rather interesting building... She can't exactly say it's that odd to her, but it doesn't scream of normal to be sure. Wonder if this person really is some kinda magic user? Well, only one way to find out.] [As she trudges on into the back, she'd suddenly find a gun pointed at her... And someone asking if she's Friend or foe, she doesn't even know these weirdos... Who the hell pulls a gun on somebody that fast anyway? Christ, what is with this place? First that weird snake thing, and now she's dealing with some jackass who's got a gun.] "Listen, if you wanna fight then I'm always game. But the name's Shiki Ryougi and I'm just looking around, word on the street was weird crap has been happening around here. Which just so happens to be a hobby of mine to look into. Now, I'm not sure if you always react to people by pointing guns at them, but from my point of view that's pretty good cause to start fighting. Still, I'll give you a warning, put it down, and nothing has to come of this."
He'd put his gun back but stay on guard. "Jason. Jason Shinegimi Quinlan. Not nice to meet you." He snarls and looks back. OOC: Nice description of Jason there. "some jackass who's got a gun."
Naoya sighs annoyed before he decides to introduce himself, "Naoya Toudou, a current wanderer and a bit for a persona user.
Leo would simply be observing the situation for now. He wanted trouble the least of anyone but seeing two people fight didn't sit well with him. He would move over between the two and try to put on a friendly face while keeping the two away from one another. His eyes would still be wide open, less so as a threat though and more because it was simply more comfortable for him to have his eyes open. "H-hey now, no need to fight. We should all get along, right? For Luard's sake at very least since they've been kind enough to let us watch their experiment." Leo would also quickly take a look at Shiki's aura to see if she was a human or at very least try to determine how much energy she had from the size of the aura.
Luard's eye twitches a little as he regards Jason and Naoya, notably, neither of them had retracted their personas, Luard briefly considers his options, they were apparently the kind of people who wouldn't mind causing a scene, something he would rather avoid so close to so many valuable objects for him. You... Still... Have them out. As I've mentioned time and time again, my research is highly fragile, I don't care if you're trying or not, if I find a single orb has been shattered you're replacing it. Oh, fantastic, another person enters, Luard briefly regards the new woman, hopefully she didn't steal any of the orbs from earlier. With a sigh, Luard glances between her and the others I haven't heard any such rumors, though to be fair I actually don't get out all that often, and when I do I have far better to do than pay attention to idle gossip.
"oh, my apologies..." Naoya said as he desummoned Seimen Kongou.
"Ah. I apologize." He retracts Osiris.
[As Leo stares at Shiki, he'd find her aura pretty sizeable. She's clearly got some kind of power to her... Beyond that, there's an odd sense of death flowing around it as well, she's entirely human. But for some reason looking at her nature would cause the boy to feel as if he's staring at someone all too close to death.] "I'm fine with not fighting... Well, I won't lie I kinda came looking for a fight honestly. But I'm still not going to just start killing for no reason, it'd be pretty stupid if I just went around pulling my blade over every tiny slight. As for you Quinlan, I can assure you the feeling is mutual, I'm oddly not fond of having weapons pointed at me." [She sounds entirely casual, not even a hint of fear can be heard in Shiki's voice despite the fact that moments ago a lethal weapon was being aimed towards her. At that, she looks around the room a bit more and spots... Whom she assumes to be this Luard, so he's running some kind of science project huh? Might be worth looking at.] "Anyways, I'm curious what kinda stuff you doing back here? A place this odd can only mean a Magus as far as I know, or whatever the local term is for magic users, point being I'm gonna guess you aren't some usual scientist right? And yeah, can't say I blame you, if I weren't bored beyond belief around here I wouldn't be checking into that stuff either. Yet alas, here I am."
Luard sighs and shakes his head, at the very least the big guns are out, his material should be mostly safe for now. Without waiting further, Luard begins to walk past the others, stepping into a small office space with a single desk. For those who didn't notice earlier, rather than the paperwork of an ordinary office, the rather barren area was lined with pieces of red chalk, various herbs and candles, and for some reason a bobblehead of a long, white-haired person, likely some anime character. Thank you for putting those away, now please do not start a fight in here. As I've said who knows how many times, I would very much like for my things to not be broken, thank you very much. Luard opens a drawer, bringing out a single, velvet-lined box from within it. Apparently satisfied, Luard takes out the small, yellow orb from his coat and carefully sets it within the box, turning around to answer Shiki's question Where I come from the term is wizard, though I have usually been called a mage around here. I don't really care for either term in particular. As for my research, I am looking into the spiritual energy and flow of living things, the more magical the better, in order to properly determine how they function, and ultimately emulate it. Unfortunately so far all my efforts have resulted in a golem of some sort, little more than a magic-fueled machine. That just won't do. I won't have succeeded until I finally create something truly alive. that said, Luard heads back towards the front of the warehouse, likely to place this gem with the others in his storage area
He looks at the notebook that sent him here, and thinks: "Damn this thing..." He looks around a bit. OOC: Just a warning, I have to be off to bed soon.
OOC: Don't feel bad about it, honestly its starting to get late for me too, fast approaching 11.
OOC: I don't, just assuring all of you.
"Making a living being? Huh... I think there's some kinda magic back home that can deal in that, but I might be wrong? I've never been one to study up on that stuff all that much, but uh sounds kinda like a Homunculus or something." [Making life huh? This guy is some kinda hardcore Magus to be sure, even if he's no fan of the term it sure as hell fits... Hmm, she might just want to hang around this one, he seems likely to get into interesting sort of things. Then again, who knows?] "Anyway, I don't think that I can be of much help to your research. I'm not knowledgeable on magic much myself, but if you happen to run across any trouble, well I'm always game for a decent fight." [She shrugs and begins looking around the room a bit more, she'd actually follow Luard out toward the front. In part simply due to it being near the exit really, but she is curious about what he's doing... Wait, those gems, yeah that would make sense, but meh might as well see.]
He looks at Shiki with an unsure expression on his face, examining his gun and keeping it close, in case she tries anything. "How and why did you get here?" He blurts out, not realizing what he said.
[The woman just stares at Jason blankly... In contrast to her usual emotionless face, at this point she simply looks very confused.] "I... Walked? It's just an old warehouse in Tokyo, what part of this is hard to reach? I... Are you on drugs? Is this what drugs do to people? I'm not trying to offend you, I'm just utterly stunned by that question." [She actually sounds shocked, huh. "How did you get here". For once, even she's left completely without a clue. Is this what it feels like to not know what's going on? Geez, she suddenly feels very bad for a certain someone who never understands the crap his friends get into.]
Leo would sigh sensing something bad coming. He would decide to leave it for now as Shiki seemed a little dangerous even for what he usually deals with. He also had to leave soon as he still had to find Sonic who he assumed had left a while ago already. "I've got something to take care of so I better get going. Thanks for letting me observe your experiment, Mr. Laurd. Maybe I'll see you again some time!" With that Leo would walk out of the warehouse and get back on his scooter before driving away.
As Shiki might have expected, Luard steps back into the storage room, waving at Leo as he passes before walking along the shelves. He doesn't seem to care too much for order, simply placing this box in the nearest open space he can find. Luard shouts after Leonardo Farewell, and do think about my offer if you would. I'm more than willing to pay. Luard chuckles at Shiki and Jason's interaction, he's starting to like this new girl, if nothing else she might be very helpful, not that he'd need it, but perhaps if sentiment turned against him... No matter, Luard shakes his head before bowing to his two remaining guests I hope you have enjoyed your short little tour of my workplace, of course, I haven't succeeded in making... Well, I'm not aiming to make a human that's for sure, but beyond that I suppose Homunculus fits, fortunately this realm seems to have plenty of what I need. Luard looks over to Jason with a grin, after all, he is a Persona user, so far none of Luard's puppets have had any form of identity of their own, but perhaps if he learned more... Luard shakes his head giving Shiki and Jason an excited grin Well, no matter, I trust you have enjoyed your stay, so unless you have further questions it would be most kind of you to see yourselves out. With that, Luard gestures to the warehouse door, though they are still in the most fragile area..... Perhaps he should keep the more important gems separate, something to think about later.
Naoya sighs as he starts to leave, "Ah, I might as well take my leave as well...See you Luard." Naoya said as he starts to walk out of the laboratory...
Is this the end?
(edited by Fenris)
OOC: I guess, I expected some comment from those who were left, but I suppose they didn’t wish to
So is it the end? I kinda want to know what happens next.
OOC: Yes, since no one seems to want to ask any questions, there is no reason to continue this further
T-T it was really good though. I hope there is some kind of sequel
OOC: I mean, probably at some point. The primary purpose of this was to establish Luard’s motivations and hint at a few things, I do still intend to follow through, though perhaps not anytime soon
Okay I'll just observe for now so I can maybe join in later when I learn how do this RP thing correctly
