The next step
in an old business district buildings frequently become abandoned as the companies owning them collapse, change, or merge, bringing a sort of excitement to the daily life in the area. At least, everywhere but one place. A certain warehouse with a reputation for being haunted. Several people have been seen going in there, but not all of them seem to come out. At least, that’s what the rumors say. The dpor to the building itself is slightly ajar, as though inviting those daring enough to enter
Travelling around the world and visiting diferent places humans go, the Kushala visited those abandoned builds, it is a pefect place to look around without be worried to scare the humans. I don't know why humans leave this... they are so messy. With that said, the Kushala raised her wings to create a little tornado around her and leave a mark on the ground. Perfect, with that I'm sure another monster won't come, or he will regret it. While looking around, the Kushala noticed the door... it was calling her... she had to go! But she began to walk away. Nah, there is no need to... wait... I'm already inside!? Without noticing it, the Kushala ended up going inside.
Inside, The Kushala finds shelves upon shelves of spherical crystals, they come mostly in three colors, green, blue, and yellow, filling quite a bit of space in the warehouse. In addition, there are various unlabeled boxes scattered around, some of which are half open. Towards the back of the warehouse Kushala can hear asort of... Crackling noise
The Kushala stared at the shelves, she was completelly amazed because is the first time she sees things like those. What a funny thing! Those things are beautifull! The Kushala carefully walked around the room, trying to not break anything because that could annoy the human who did those shelves. She also looked at the boxes, she didn't opened them specially because she could break them with her claws. !!! The noise triggered her instinct and it told her she was in danger, this time she prepared herself for a posible battle. Her walking changed, she was moving very carefully to not make any noise and not alert that thing, she raised her wings, just in case she needs to fly and now she is starong at the source of the noise, prepared for anything.
What a strange place... A blue-haired woman hesitantly enters, but doesn't draw the white and gold gun holstered at her side. She picks up a blue crystal, wondering if it's a z-crystal or even a fabled Mega Stone... She tilts her head at the dragon. Did it notice something?
Kushala walks past a few more shelves, all identical, headed to where she hears the crackling, passing through a small, office door. Inside the office are stacks of books, scattered about the area at seemingly random. Everything fits some kind of madman, except perhaps a single bobble head, depicting a small, gray-haired girl with a similarly plain gray dress. In a moment, the sound stops, leaving Kushala with but one more door between her and the noise Primaries touches one of the stones, it feels surprisingly warm, and seems to light up from within upon contact. However, she doesn’t feel any sort of power from it. It’s light and warmth almost seem faint and distamt
While someone probably owns this, borrowing one won't hurt. She can just return it on her way out. Primarina holds the stone in her left hand, deciding to follow the dragon towards a faint noise in the distance.
(I've heard crazy humans who are obsessed with something leaves books in this way... seriously this place is a mess, this man could clean this... or she... I have to be carefull, if the human or monster behind this tries something strange I'll kilm him.) The Kushala continued moving in the way she was doing to not alert anyone nearby, soon, she reached the door, she lowered her head, she put her wings closer to her body and... Poof. Without opening the door she appeared on the other side... what? how she does it? I also want to know it. ...
The stone maintains its faint warmth as Primarina goes to the back office. She catches a glimpse of a small dragon, beforecit seems to just vanish. Walking into the office see above description Kushala appears on the other side of the door, landing in a small puddle of some kind of disgusting slime. It gets on one of her feet, and will probably take a while to get out. Gross. But for more interesting things, the Kushala would see a large, red pair of circles drawn in chalk. Around the edges she sees a variety of clear gems, like those earlier in the warehouse. And in the middle, seemingly unaware of her presence, stands the man she would recognize as Luard, typing on a tablet as a small, bluish blob with a purple orb at its center takes form Luard: almost there... Lets see... We have vitals this time. That’s a good sign. Perhaps this one will be stable at least
Odd. Did the dragon teleport or something? Primarina notices the bobblehead and picks it up, tapping the head a few times to watch it shake. She'd never seen anything like this before. Was this yet another human thing?
The Kushala turned to the green slim and she moved her leg trying to remove it. (I'm sure the sand will remove you, I can also remove that part of the skin if I need to... now I think about it I should eat a few minerals because I need to change some parts of my skin... later I'll do...) snif (that smell... I recognise it... could it be...) Her attention turned to Luard, for an instant she was about to lie down and say Hi, but when she saw the bluish blob and Luard talking alone, she decided to not be that friendly this time. Luard? What are you doing here? What is that think? she was calm, but her instinct was telling her to attack, for now, she will listen to what Luard has to say.
there doesn’t seem to be anything weird about the bobble head, it’s head shakes back and forth as expected. Though looking closer, Prisma can make out its red eye color, cheerful smile, and small puppet companion. Luard briefly looks up from his tablet, turning back to face the Kushala He almost sounds bored if anything It’s a magical lifeform. Not like Hate. Perhaps Artificial lifeform would be more fitting for this conversation. I’ve been trying to stabilize them for weeks now. They usually end up decaying in minutes. Not much success so far Luard is cut off by the blob finally seeming to take shape. It “glances” around for a moment, before starting to move towards Luard
The Kushala relaxed a bit, Luard is trying to investigate that things? Could he be woriied about Hate? Or... is he curious about her? I agree that... hugical... huform... ma... magical lif forn is dangerous, I would like to know why do you want to create one of that things? Do you want to find their weak spot? That could be very usefull. The Kushala was still prepared to jump, just in case that blob tries something.
Sorry, got caught up in some spring cleaning Setting the bobblehead down, Prima decides to take a look at the other stuff lying on the desk. She can't read, but perhaps some images will catch her eye...
I'm not looking to create something like her specifically. Any stable lifeform will do. As for why? Why does a chef cook? Why does an actor perform? Seemingly unaware of the movement behind him, Luard casually walks toawrds Kushala taking a long breathy sigh As a researcher, my job is to push the boundaries of what's possible. My predecessor proved that unique life, in some form, could be made. I simply wish to take his possibility, and turn it into reality. the slime creature seems rather slow to follow Luard... After a few awkward seconds, as though trying to prepare itself, the slime lunges towards Luard Prima opens up a few of the books. Even if she could read she'd find them to be filled with some bizarre runic script. However, there are some pictures of jewels, much like the one she brought with her, and various magic circles with different designs in them, three of which make shapes she would recognize, a roaring flame, a winding road, and a jagged bolt of lighting
The Kushala listened Luard's words... a researcher... she doesn't fully understand that, but if it is what Luard wants. I see, I hope you manage to do this Luard, if you even need help with something just ask me, I'll do my best to help you. The Kushala kept an eye on the blob, she was holding herself to not jump over it. The last time, that womans said something about... time's eclipse? Could it be related to that magical things?
Well, got distracted again. This time with getting my nonexistent tail kicked in Shadowverse. Prima leaves the desk behind and goes through the door the dragon had been in front of.
The blob manages to make contact with Luard's back, causing him to take a few rapid steps in an attempt to get away One moment. *sigh* I was hoping this one would be smarter. Luard rapidly draws a small pair of circles in the air, before thrusting his palm against it wind burst. The blob is knocked back a short distance, giving Luard the time to cast another spell thunder bind. a pair of electric chains emerge out of Luard's newest magic circle, taking hold of the blob's central gem to prevent further movement. That dealth with, Luard sighs and turns back to Kushala I should be fine on my own.... I just.... *sigh* I'm not sure why they just keep dissolving, no matter how much energy I pump into making them. Annoying. I doubt this "time's eclipse" would be related to my little pet project. If I were to guess I would say its a rare multiversal event, likely originating wherever Hate's home is. Perhaps if I were to go there myself..... Luard shakes his head I don't have that sort of time I'm afraid Prima walks in towards the end of Luard's conversation, notably seeing the dragon from earlier, a rather tall man wearing a dark cloak, and some sort of slime creature bound in crackling chains. The cloaked man looks to her, more specifically, the gem in her hand Please put that back. They're highly fragile and tend to explode when broken. Don't want any chain reactions going on and ruining the place
I'll ask Leo, I'm sure he or the bunny girl can come up with something. The Kushala turned back and she began to clean her leg. ... ... ... You feel... another presence in the room... a familiar one... could it be Hate? Indeed she was, Hate appeared over the Kushala and she sent a kiss to Luard, then she disappeared, that happened in an instant... like a flickering. Done. The Kushala didn't noticed it, but is strange because he has now a letter in his back, it is addressed to Luard.
A-ah, sorry... Prima takes a step back, but takes notice of the slime creature. She frowns and looks down at it... or up, if it's big enough. What... is that?
Luard raises an eyebrow, looking to the air over Kushala. Did he imagine it.... Come to think of it, his back seems a little heavier, like there's something stuck to the ooze. Curious, Luard checks... To find a letter addressed to him. Perhaps it wasn't his imagination... Or the slime's a lot smarter than he credited it for. While Luard opens the letter, he briefly glances back at the creature and almost absentmindedly notes Its an artificial lifeform. Or a prototype at least. They're not very stable, so they try to hold themselves together by draining life from other beings. Worst they'll do is tire you out, but the stuff takes forever to get out of your clothes. Thankfully its odorless most of the time
Note: "First of all, baby Magic life forms are very unstable, you can't create them in the nexus because eventually they will collapse. You have to understand: How we've borned. How we grow up. And specially, what kind of magic are we. We've gained conscience thanks to a paradox in the time's eclipse, if you want to create a paradox, just change the future in your world, the change must be very big like a few humans did, for example Say... ops... a bit more and I tell you what I shouldn't... well, good luck on your experiment. Hate." Is everything alright Luard? The kushala stared at Luard and the note for a few seconds. Is that letter important?
I see... Poor thing. Doesn't seem very threatening, either. Prima takes a few steps towards it and holds out a hand. Hello there.
OOC: Going to bed, good bye
Luard briefly rereads the note. The question brought up is, of course, why they would feel a need to contact him about it. Perhaps his efforts interest her as well? It would be difficult to make a paradox without knowing this world's history. Even if he did how exactly he would go about changing it is another matter. However, these Magical Lifeforms they referred to are beings primarily of energy yes? Which is why they are unstable for the most part. Pure energy can't stick together very well. Luard breaths a sigh and hides the note away in his cloak Its nothing really. Just confirmation that my current method isn't likey to work. At least not without breaking the fabric of space-time first. Which is somewhat harder The orb at the center of the slime seems to look at Prim, desperately. It is largely unable to move, but makes some feeble attempt to reach out towards her, if what Luard said is true it might be trying to sustain itself.
OOC: Edits aren't working right now, but good night
nighto Prima thinks for a moment, then holds out the hand with the strange blue crystal, trying to put it in the slime. Maybe this would work... or create an explosion. But the little guy seemed weak enough that this risk was worth it.
Some of the creature's mass sticks to Prim's hand, and it begins to feel like she's been carrying that crystal all day. As for the gem itself, it gets absorbed into the creature's mass, travelling through the slime to its own crystalline core. The two gems float next to each other, before the larger purple one absorbs Primarina's blue. Luard sighs and finally pays more attention to them. and what exactly was the point of that? These energy crystals don't exactly grow on trees you know. Probably took about twenty minutes to get that one. Its still going to collapse eventually. Feeding it just delays the inevitable
I don't know. I just... wanted to help it as best as I could. It's upsetting to think that this creature won't live long, but there's really not much she can do about it... Why create these, anyway? She sits down by the slime, giving it a soft yet slightly tired pat.
once again Prim's hand goes into the creature, the exhaustion is beginning to spread past her hand now the more she touches it. Luard watches with a raised eyebrow before shaking his head These things are mere failures, consider it a stepping stone towards my actual goal. To create life. Not like a golem or some other form of machinery, a being capable of living, breathing, thinking, and acting on its own... These.... Well, as near as I can tell the primary problem is that their fo..... Luard stops himself and begins thinking, as they are the creatures are highly unstable. Their current state tends to dissolve rapidly. It might be difficult to stabilize them as they are, but perhaps there's an easy way around that...
I... would be careful going about that. I've heard about a legendary pokemon that was created artificially by humans, one with a cold heart... Prima sighs and stands up. Nevermind. It's probably just a rumor. But playing Arceus is no easy feat, just keep that in mind. She waves with a slimy hand, then leaves. She never gave him her name, she thinks a few seconds later, but no big deal.
Luard looks after Prim as she leaves. Nothing to worry about. After all, he can hardly stop now, that much is for certain. With no one else around, Luard breathes out a sigh A heart? Probably not referring to the literal sense. Well, I can't really control what they're like. That would defeat the point after all. Finally, Luard looks over at the slime. Looks like its starting to decompose already. It probably has about another thirty minutes or so of life if left on its own. But there's no reason to let it go to waste like that. Swallow it whole Fafnir. [Fin]
