It's getting harder to breathe, since the source is near one of the vents, but despite the smoke the location seems to be... Lab 12, based on the distance. A few things are on fire and the fumes are very painful if inhaled.

Sho lightens up when he sees the skull! Nice! He tries to speed up and catch the skull by expending as much energy as he can, crawling with his arms and legs! Almost..!

Unluky for Cent, but Alexei is indeed in his room after passing out something fierce last night. The sudden arrival wakes him up with a start and his hands instantly curl around the nearest defensive item he has a blanket. What the hell man!? I was sleeping.

The skull goes limp, lifeless. Sho doesn't find the other skulls, but does notice some smell of smoke... Bad idea to follow the trail, though.

Cent Freaks out a bit yep someone was in here! He quickly jumps back up into the vents and continues to crawl through them to another stop.

The girl finally emerges from lab 11, with a half-melted clock in hand, metal still red-hot. She doesn’t say a word as she walks over to the Hazardous Waste Disposal, and disposed of the clock Well, that was useful

Alexei is left stumped for a few seconds with his best wtf face and then decides feck it. Time to follow the dude since something interesting seems to be happening. He struggles pulling himself up the vents and then persues Cent.

Cent only finds more bedrooms. He should probably head back outside... but a wild Alexei blocks his path!

Alexia chasing Cent seems to only quicken his pace such a stupid scenario he has got himself in. Instead he chooses to bash open another Vent hatch with his Hook and jump down to see if he can get away from the attention. By perhaps this will just make it worse.

The girl crosses her arms, sighing and shaking her head I had hoped these clocks were important to them, perhaps allowed them to keep track of us better. But that seems unlikely if it was this easy to break. You’d need an ultimate programmer to find out much more.

Looks like Vision Boy is braving this. The smoke becomes thicker around Lab 12's vent. It's more damaging than normal smoke if breathed in, and burns Sho's eyes. The flames, the source, are coming from a spot in Lab 12 that's very close to the vent. Into Gou's room Cent goes...

Shotaro pours the contents of his cup into the new milk cup. Quickly swirling the cup around, he then goes to chug the rest. "Gah..." He slams the cup down and shudders violently. "Thanks. Still tasted terrible, but strong is what I need right now. It'll help me stay awake!"

"In any case... I noticed a lot of smoke in the vents, around labs 11 and 12. I'm gonna check 12 out."

Wait ... Was that a machine??? Noticing the hook Alexei lets out a very unmanly squeal and almost throws himself out of the opened vent hatch. Luckily his lower half catches in the vent so he has time to carefully fall to the floor in a heap. His body will be absolutely sore after all this, but he doesnt seem to mind. He just tries to recover quick wnough to follow behind Cent. Hey wait up! I'm not mad about the whole break in deal. Serious! Just wanna ask about your sweet hook and maybe know what is going on! He shouts this to Cent.

Well, I'm bored. Might as well come with you. Yu don't mind, right Banner? *Gin smirks.*

"Yeah, it has to be Lab 11 or 12. According to the map 12 is most likely where the smoke is... And I'm going with you as well!"

He's right by the source now, but... It's something that's blackened by now. With a wooden pole that's in flames. Either a broom or a mop... but how is this smoke so painful? It's no ordinary fire. ...Monobuddy seems angry.

Cent looks at Alexei clearly hesitant to speak and still on edge but tries to tighten up and speak about her questions. “This hook it’s part of my model build it’s my age old weapon partner....so to say. Uhh my model being Centunculus_Fur forgive me we have not interacted....” He still looks uncomfortable about the whole thing but it’s clear that Alexia probably does not mind. He decides to explain about the animated skull and his vent exploration. “Again I apologize....anyway I should keep scouting around....and you don’t have to follow me the other are in the main hallways I think...” Cent takes a bit to look around the room he is in.

Hmm. Probably not worth risking our captives anger. Come on. Lab 12 can wait until after we've heard what the bear has to say. *Gin starts heading towards the meeting room*

"...Guess we have to meet that bear again..." Naoya said, as he decided to look for something to quickly heat, in the fridge, only to find some...pizza? "Argh...looks like I picked the short straw here...you go ahead of me Shotaro, I'll be there within a moment..." He said as he took out the pizza from the box and slammed it in the microwave and set it to cook for approximatley 4 minutes, as the box recommended.

Shotaro can't make heads or tails of this guy. Would he really risk his head for a snack? Something felt very wrong, but he didn't have time to question it. "Right. Well, I'm off!" He quickly tears out of the cafeteria and towards the meeting room. It should be a short sprint, best to be quick.

the girl mutters something under her breath, like talking to herself, and silently heads to the meeting room

? Not yet.. Sho tries to endure for a bit longer and gets onto his back to try and kick the pole out of the way to get a good view of the object before leaving and moving to the meeting room, if he can't kick it he gives up and gets out, he's going to die if he keeps it up

He hears Monokuma’s announcement and then Alexei’s comment and nods in agreement. Ri-right..We should Head to the meeting room then so let’s make haste I guess.” Cent grunts a little in uneasy and starts to crawl his way to the Meeting Room checking back to see if Alexei follows.

The mop broom thing falls over, knocking some more over. The smoke thins out once that happens. Those were definitely the source... and off to the meeting room he goes.

Alexei snubs his lingering excitement and follows Cent with a pretty passive look. Figures he wouldn't get anywhere with Cent for now. As much as I like machines this bear model is pretty annoying sometimes.

Monokuma just stares blankly at Katsuo. "Yes, I would actually. Anyways, for you, I shall give you a new clock with the old time back" He throws Katsuo a clock that has the current time for those who had 24 hour clocks, about 8 hours left. He also gives star her old clock back. "But as for you, ultimate puppet..." He looks angrily at Marionette. "For breaking another person's clock, now you're grouped with the 24 hour group!" Marionette's clock is brought down to roughly 8 hours.

After a little while Sho looks somewhat less charred and smoggy and speaks up, directing his words at the bear Alright, now that's that settled, do you mind explaining that fire? What exactly happened there, and what are these skulls?

The girl freezes, shaking for a moment as she mutters to herself. After a few minutes, the girl mutters a little more loudly I understand. before simply getting up and heading out of the meeting room

Sho stares suspiciously at Alex, it wasn't exactly a strong case, he wanted to get through this without murder but it was looking increasingly likey that it wasn't going to happen. Why would you hide the skulls? It just doesn't make sense, you knew we were looking for them. What did you use? Tell us!

He listens to Alex’s testimony before leaving the room to do his own stroll but now he was bored he realizes that things are getting tense so he should not go do anything stupid but....curiosity has been unfinished. And to quench his feeling Cent decides to head into the Hazordus Waste Storage/Disposal to shave some time.

...Might be a good time to wrap this Phase up. Any secret actions or murders, speak now or forever hold your peace. This area has drums and containers of chemicals with warning labels abound. Certainly not too safe if an accident happens.

Can't we just like ya know ... Temporarily kill someone? Alexei knew the others would be kinda annoying but things were getting a bit too riled for him. Time to throw some dogs a bone. If someone's heart stops then it should technically be a death even if we shock them after.

Oh no well guess I tried. Alexei says this with minimal enthusiam. He didnt really think it would pass but one could try. Well if anyone needs i'll be in the supply closet contemplating life. My room isn't exactly safe anymore.

She'd simply watch quietly from the corner forbidden now, not really having an idea or time with which to do anything... Gah, this whole mess of secrets and lies is beyond annoying. Killing monsters is one thing, but people? She's never really done that before. Now seems a bad time to start.

Cent looks around the the chemicals present are fascinating but not filling his current boredom he notes it down for later use. He checks his Pads and realizes that there is a incinerator in the room over he makes haste in that directions to see if anything else can satisfy his boredom or answer anything that has been happening.

Lab 12 houses the still-burning remains of a bunch of mops. There are flammable and hazardous chemicals in containers. Lab 13 is as she left it.

Okay, let's see about making this place a bit safer... actually, it feels like it's already safe enough. I'll just head to the cafeteria then to get some food. I'm starving. Star heads to the cafeteria, hungry and bored.

"Time to explore I guess." He waves dismissively to the bear as he exits the room and heads towards Lab 14. It might be good to get a feel for this place in case something comes up.

The mops emit a nasty-looking smoke. Star eventually comes across the kitchen, with enough food for an army, so to speak. Lab 14 contains many plants, from crops to weeds to clovers. They appear to be in water and soil with different "ppm" of certain substances depending on the "group".

Whatever Alex's plan may have been, I think it failed. Perhaps his plan was to lure someone into the vents with the skulls, trap them in the there and then have them die by breathing in to much smoke. But something went wrong, and everyone got out alive. Speculation of course. Heh. Guess I'll start caliing Alex Killer then. Heh heh heh.

Hmm...it would be too easy to poison the food, given all the chemicals around here. It would also be easy to dispose of the evidence because of the incinerator. I wonder if there's a way to contact that bear to see if there's a rule on poisoning food...

"The effects of chemicals on agriculture, hm?" Shotaro walks around the lab looking at the different plant subjects and making a mental list of any dangerous plants or chemicals. "I wonder what an ounce of prevention equals out to if I were to bring it down to parts per million. Heh."

No dangerous plants, except if they picked uo stuff. Example: ones in lead-infused soil or water. Cent can't climb the shaft, since there are metal bars in the way for some reason... The end of the Phase is here. As the day wears on, the clocks tick down... Maybe everyone should get to their rooms in case of a murder.

While the clock ticks and the end of today draws near....To late to stop now he’s gotta know what’s going on here. Luckily the robot has an idea, Cent moves back into the Hazordus Waste Storage room and tries to find some really corrosive acid or chemicals to melt the bars down easy there has to be some of it. Don’t worry they can’t melt Cent he’s made of rusty Australium.

After taking some time to catch her breath, the young, grey-haired girl breathes a sigh of relief and, still shaking, heads back to her room, closing and locking the door

Hmm... Well, we think on this later. I'm heading back to my room. Careful nothing bad happens to you guys on the way back. You're fun to hang out with. *Gin waves to Micah and Gou as he leaves the lab and returns to his room.*

"I'm going to the Cafeteria to get food and water. After that I'll be in my room, okay?" I don't know what to think right now, for now I think I'm indifferent with Alex..

"That's it for today." With a solid grasp of the room's contents and layout, Shotaro exits the lab and returns to his room. However this time he spends time scouring his room for any oddities. Such as the very obvious vent. "Well that won't do. I gotta sleep light..." Mentally preparing himself, Shotaro locks his door and lays down. His training should be enough to wake him if something makes a noise. He probably won't be getting much sleep.

The narrator is back. Phase end. As the clock ticks down for the 24-hour people, the crackling of flames grows louder. Smoke comes out of the rooms' vents. A cry, muffled by the walls but still audible, is heard above a roar from one of the rooms. Pained and long.

*Gin notices the cry and looks up from writing in his notepad.* Huh? What the heck? Has it been 24 hours already? Or was that... No. No, it can't have been... can it? *Gin waits a second before sighing* Ugh. Might as well. *Gin leaves his room to see if he can find who screamed, hoping it wasn't anything to dire*

The agonized screams eventually stop, but even without sound to guide the curious residents, there is smoke coming out from under one of the doors... Cake's, according to the label. That one other person that had holed up in their room most of the time.

After having slept for some time, the grey-haired girl wakes to screaming and the smell of fire.. Fire. Noting the smoke coming out of the vents, the girl takes a deep breath, before unlocking her door and heading over to lab 11 to grab the fire extinguisher and blanket, just to be on the safe side.
Gin
Is that a... fire? Shit, someone's in there aren't they? God damn... *Gin goes to open the door to Cake's room, tapping the handle to make sure it wasn't going to burn him.*

The handle is rather hot, but not so much that it's impossible to open. Wrapping a piece of cloth around your hand a few times or a similar action could probably minimize injury.

I am starting to smell smoke. Is it coming from the vents?! Wait... Somebody is screaming! Oh fuck... ( Micah burst through their door in a panic.) "H-Hey! What the hell is going on?! Is everyone okay?!"

after retrieving the fire extinguisher and blanket, the girl takes a deep breath, and brings them back to the common area between the rooms. Visibly shaking, the girl offers Gin the fire extinguisher, leaving the fire blanket beside her Y... You might want this. I'm... Not so good with open flames.

Star rushes out of her room and tries to kick the door in to Cake's room. Fire fire fire fire!

Cent takes a Monopad and immediately leaves the Meeting Room to avoid the other. He begins to scroll through the pad to see what info it pertains and it clicked real quick. “Oh..Oh no. Current outlook negative.” the info on this pad that he observed has him to say the least guilty as charged. Cent dashed off to his Dorm room without hesitation but left he left his room unlocked in his haste.

Natsuki woke up from what she thought was a quick nap but when in reality, she slept for the whole day. She sat on her bed, stretched her arms out and started to yawn. She looked at the time on the clock and saw the remaining time. Oh. Shit. This is not good, this is not good, this is not good, this is not good, this is not good.... Repeating that same phrase over and over again, doing this for a good 5 minutes until she got a hold of herself and started to process what she needed to do. She looked at the tablet and looked over the other's information. After she was done reading it, she slowly got up, unlocked the door and quietly went into the cafeteria to get some food. While getting the food, she smelled something burning, but from the baking experience she done for some time, it wasn't burned food. Her legs started to tremble a little as she was thinking of the worst. She hold the urge to vomit and instead, grabbed all of the food and ran towards her room where she locked it and placed the food on the bed where she started to eat it slowly. Afterwards, she was exhausted and slept on her bed again.

Monokuma's punctual morning announcement cuts in. It's only a few hours till the trial... ...speaking of that, it might be best to check the file... "The victim is known as Cake Cat. The body was discovered inside their room, room 11. Estimated time of death was 3:47 PM. There are burn wounds covering their entire body. Inhalation of smoke caused loss of consciousness under two minutes before death. Specific cause of death is unknown, but it is a combination of oxygen deprivation from smoke and the damage done by the flames." This investigation period will be to get a general idea of the crime scene, etc. At the end, each person will be given a specific piece of evidence that they can reveal at any point in the trial they find convenient (evidence is given through PM/DM obviously)

Cent was awake for most the night paranoid and concern about how his misadventures landed him in the eyes of a suspect. He left his quarters as soon as he heard he could and looked around to see if anyone was around. He made his way over to room 11 the room of Cake Cat and waited there for others to arrive. Granted he was not looking forward to them or willing to say anything to them.

Along with some piles of burnt stuff to the left and right of the door, scorch marks cover anything flammable. The fire was really strong... obviously, our victim found that out firsthand. Cent's room has some soot on the ceiling, but that's true for rooms 1-13 in general. It doesn't appear too out of the ordinary...

Cent follows in to observe the scorched destruction of the room he look around before approaching some of the ashes scattered down on the floor and start to collect a bit of it. Apparently the robot was carrying a test tube on him and placed these ashes from the room into it. Next he walked over to Gin and tried to motion his attention to ask something. But would he even believe or want to talk to him? Would anyone for that matter? "Er..Hey...Can you do me a favour? Is there any like damage to the hatch of the vent or like clawed or scrapped marks anywhere on it?"

Lab 12 has some nice burnt mops on the floor. They were obviously lit by Alex, although they've fallen onto the floor from Sho trying to kick at them yesterday. Should Sho's room be unlocked, not too much of interest is there either, unless he put some stuff on his dresser or something. The vents are notably blackened. The burnt smell lingers here especially.

Nothing but clothes in the dresser. Although they've seen better days... There are flammable, poisonous, irratative, corrosive... lots of chemicals! The flammable ones on the list are most notable... No solid thing was dropped in, but it's difficult to tell the source either way, since rooms 1-13 had signs of burning and smoke from vents...

...The stuff on the handle smells suspiciously like roast chi- ...no. It's burnt flesh. The body is in front of the door. Lab 11 isn't too disturbed, although many chemicals are gathered on a table for some reason... In addition, Cent is now experimenting with the ashes. The byproducts of the fire are easier to find this way... The incinerator ashes have a notably different composition than the other two samples.

Anything helps right now. I'm going to head over to the hazardous materials disposal room. My theory is that someone used chemicals to start the fire, so I'm going to see if they got rid of the chemicals yet. Ehh? I'm Star. I'm definitely not the murderer if you're thinking I am. Alright the ashes are separate now Cent is loaded on alibis to explain that mess but still the search for answers is not enough. Vent put the ash samples in storage and the data of the different compositions is shall really help. Next he walked over to the chemicals gathered together...Odd why are they even grouped up at all?
