"Alright crook, time to count up your sins. I won't let you bring tears to any more people." Running his finger along the brim of his hat, he finishes his investigation and heads off towards the elevator.
Alex grabs some flammable and puts it in his bag before entering the elevator.
As everyone enters the elevator, it closes and starts heading very far down underground, leading to the class trial ... It's time. Any evidence you have found will be useful eventually. Gather it all together and remember everything. The doors open, and it's time to begin.
REASEARCH GROUP TRIAL
START!
You stand in a room with 16 stands, one for everyone..... Including CakeCat, who's stand is taken by a funeral picture of her with a pink X in front of it. Monokuma sits in a throne-like chair behind Alexei's stand. "Welcome to the trial room!"
Well, this is definitely...okay, I guess? So, how's this going to go down, Monobear?
"..." It is time, huh? The time that we may find who killed CakeCat, if that is their real name that is. I got some ideas, but will they even help at all?
Hmm.. Fancy set up you have here. Let's get started. Sho then looks around before taking his spot, stepping up and looking around at the others, looking at the podium for Cakecake and grimacing, what a morbid thought, no use mourning though, if he wanted to get out of this without punishment, and avenge the victim, he'll have to find the murderer. Alright. Let's get started then. Would anybody like to share details? After that we can line out suspects.
Naoya notices the portrait of Cakecat with a bloody X over it, "Um, why is that...picture there?" he asks, curious of why even
Nobody here actually killed her, right? She was totally innocent. None of you would kill someone like that, right?
Gin
Who knows? People can get desperate if they think there time is running out. E-eh, no pun intended of course.
(edited by Gin)
"So it makes Marionette, Katsuo, and I suspicious, huh? After all, we did only have the 24 hour clocks assigned to us..."
(edited by Micah)
Cent steps into the trial ground ever nervous but it's clear there is no escaping this. The fate of everyone has been put into play....so it's time to solve this case. Cent looks over at Monokuma. "Yo-You wanna explain what we are to really commence here?"
Hey, I don't think that's a fair assumption.
"Simple, Velvet! Just because Pastry Face is dead doesn't mean they don't get to be in the Reasearch Group Trial! That would just be unfair!"
Shotaro steps up to his podium and looks around at all the others. It wasn't the first case he's had where a potential innocent was actually a terrible monster, granted it was never really that simple. And this would be no different. "The simple fact is one of us is a murderer. That's how Monokuma's game works. We wouldn't be here otherwise. And as much as I appreciate the gusto you have Sho, we should get a few answers first." Shotaro glares at Monokuma and awaits his reply to Cent.
R-Right, we better start listing our evidence.
"I think we should start with the motive."
"I said the rules before, Quarter, and I'll say it again! You guys gotta find out who killed pastry face! Get it right, I kill the killer. But get it wrong, and everyone BUT the blackened gets executed!"
"So the motive was the clocks we were assigned to. It made us to feel scared and made tention to get someone to kill somebody in that time period."
Actually, I'd like for us to list off what we know so far. That way, we can figure things out a bit faster?
@Gou_Fukami Good plan. The motive could be a couple things. Perhaps it was the count down on the clocks, or perhaps it was just because she was an easy target. I guess it's easier to kill someone you've never talked to...
Gin
YEah, the clocks were the motive. At least I assume so. I can't imagine someone wanted to kill someone I don't think we've met before for a reason other than that.
"I found a shitload of soot in the vents from room 1 to 13."
I think I have something, but it's not very important to finding the murderer...
"Wait, wait, wait! Let me get something straight you unbearable mascot! What happens if someone kills themselves? Is a trial held?" Shotaro doesn't believe that's the case here, but an explanation now would save hassle later potentially.
"What is it, Kido? We need all we know to get the killer; big or small."
Y-You see... there were large piles of stuff in front of the door, bookcases, shelves, etc. She barricaded her room because she didn't want to be killed, but she didn't know about the vents. When the fire started, she couldn't escape... I did the same thing in my room, and I know there's no way I could've moved my barricade to escape a fire in my room.
Would be kind of pointless if the beat killed us for no reason. Right? So this must be more than a suicide. Alexei had no idea what was really going on but meh might as well get participation credit.
"You got that right egghead! Even if there's a suicide, it still counts because you're mudering yourself!"
"That is interesting..."
(edited by Micah)
Gin
So the fire did start from the vents like I thought. That would explain why there such prominent scorch marks in and around the vents. She notices the fire and tried to escape, but there was stuff in the way. She moved the stuff away from the door to get out, but the door handle was to hot. She burnt herself on the handle and died in the fire. That's my theory. Any holes?
I-I'm sorry. I wasn't a part of the big adventure that led to all of this yesterday. I sat in my room the whole time. B-But that almost means there's no way I could be the murderer. I think Sho heard me in my room, so there's my alibi.
@Gin Did the fire start from the vents, or was something dropped into the room that caused the fire to start?
"Sounds plausible to me."
Hmm... it's an interesting theory...but let's think about how this fire started in the first place. How this fire started is vital to this case I believe, as it could indicate who started the fire in the first place.
I noticed that recently, someone has been to the incinerator. I don't know who, but I just thought I should share.
"I agree with your theory, Gin. But where did the fire start though?"
I wouldn’t say this is a great hole but more so a question of the door was not used and the vent was used my question is if the fire started from the vent could the victim not have enough time to escape. I’m curious where the fire’s origin started is what i’m trying to say sorry.... This discussion stuff may not be his strong suit all this pressure and attention felt bad to Cent.
Gin
Hmm... that's a point. I'd say the fire was lit in the vents and dropped in the room from there.
"I'll take that egghead remark as a sign of acknowledging my HARD-BOILED nature." He files that little tidbit away and turns back to the group trial. "It wouldn't be pointless if they had a good reason to have us die, but this is much too elaborate and much too early for a maneuver as desperate as that." Something being dropped into the room? "Oh! I found some containers of flammable chemicals that should've been very full but weren't. There was one in Lab 11 and one in Lab 12."
@Centunculus_fur I need to ask you something. When we discovered the body, you were covered in soot and chemicals and God knows what? Can we please hear your alibi?
There is one huge gaping hole to that theory given by that dude over there whom I didn't even bother to learn the name of. Alexei momentarily gazes over to Gin. The vents are amazing for sneaking around and are practically everywhere. I should know I crawled through them just yesterday. So if they were set on fire then how exactly was the killer able to move around and somehow barricade cakecat's door. Also wouldn't we have felt the heat of the lit up vents?
"........." im no good at this. I hope no one calls me out on the fire
Well, I'd like to present my first piece of evidence I collected. Star shows everyone an almost empty chemical bottle. I found this bottle in Lab 12. It's highly flammable, and it can be made into a gas I believe. I believe the killer used this, but they might have gotten some other chemical, so I'm not sure yet.
@Sho_Kasugi I'm a girl, idiot...
Hrm.. That sounds solid to me. I suppose the murderer would be the person who lit the fire in the first place. Although I would like to confirm something. When I was in the vents, I felt the fire, it wasn't normal. It was a special fire thanks to some strange materials. Was this fire in the room normal or strange? Is there anything that can confirm this? I believe the person who went to the incinerator is Cent, I will vouch for them to be innocent. I can confirm Kido was in his room, however, you could have left by the vents, so you aren't completely innocent, you are the Ultimate Illusionist after all. I can't rule you out.
So I think it's safe to say that this fire was started by chemicals... correct?
Gin
We figured that one out already, Alexei. The door was already blocked. Cake did it to try and save her, blocking the door from her side. It was a fatal error. Kido brought it up earlier, I believe. As for the heat, I'm entirely sure. Perhaps it was small when it started but grew out of control? Though that would raise a question. Gou said there was soot in the vents. Can that there through smoke?
That's correct, Kido. Does anyone have any other chemicals that might have been used?
"Before we go along...I'd also like to present something as evidence...just in case..." Naoya said as he got out the mop chemical he found, "A Mop Chemical I found in lab 12, I think it may be relevant since it was where Cake Cat died." He said. "Not to mention, it is extremley flammable and can produce very damaging smoke." he added,
ADDED EVIDENCE: MOP CHEMICAL!
Okay, that's good. Any other chemicals?
So it's safe to assume that the fire was started with the mop chemicals in the vent in Gou's room, then dropped into the room. Then who started the fire? Anyone see any suspicious person carrying around flammables?
Cent stiffened up at Kido’s commen. It was only a matter of time before that question was spoken of and he had the proof to protect him....but why was he so stiff? “Uh...Kido please forgive me but let’s save alibi testimony’s for later we are already fillied with questions we need to dissect them one by one. And I promise I will answer it once we get there.” Damn this is looking bad for him man up already. Anyway back to the other thousand of questions and he chose to answer Star since it catches his attention. “Well as you stated the chemicals in lab 12 were used but me and Micah also found something of note related to that. Chemicals were gathered and used in Lab 11 one flammable and other crossive it seems someone was mixing them together...”
Was hoping she wasn't that dumb but you can never tell with ppl. Alexei thinks back with a bored expression and comes up with something. Never was a fan of chemistry or anything of that sort. Yet I did dabble in it and while checking the vents I found a few drops of s mysterious something. No smell and really squicky to touch which means that it is likely flammable. Wouldn't want to be covered in this stuff. Evidence: Liquid in the vents~ That gross stuff also trailed in the lab area eck.
Ummmm... we're looking for who DID IT. I think alibis are VERY important right now. She glares at Cent
"I can confirm that Cent and I investigated Lab 11 for a bit. A bunch of corrosive chemicals were bunched together. Doesn't help that a flammable chemical was found near them as well. Bad news, they were all used."
(edited by Micah)
Gin
*Gin looks at Cent* What were you doing when Cake died, Cent? Just out of curiosity.
Hmm... interesting...okay, so the killer mixed chemicals together to create their murder weapon. Well then, let's ask ourselves now, how did the killer ignite the chemicals?
"Does anyone else have evidence they found? And which lab did that chemical trail lead to Alexei?"
I'd like to submit a new piece of evidence now! Star pulls out a list of chemicals and their properties. I found this list in Lab 12. It's possible we could use this to identify what the killer did and didn't use.
Maya, who has clearly been here the whole time would finally speak up. "It's not much, but I found that the vent covers his screws. Can't open em from inside, not without super strength or something anyways..." With that, she'd return to her musings and look around the room. Hmm hmm, how will this play out?
Oh snap I hit a few nerves ahhh this is not looking to good and so many questions are being flung around. "Ho-Hold on so much info is getting flung around if you want me to answer at least get everyone on page I either say something or get ignor-ignored!" it was true though if they kept chattering in so many topics what good will this be or maybe Cent is the one to adapt. Either way Cent takes a risk and yells out. "Everyone please we are throwing data back and forth without context and we please stay on one topic!"
The chemical trail obviously led to the only lab or two with an empty vent. Alexei didn't mean to be totally rude but his patience was wearing thin with all the back and forth. No one even bothered to test the chem stuff to see what it could which was boring. A flash fire would make the place interesting. Maybe instead of checking alibi's we should see if we are actually right about the evidence. We don't even know what most of the chemical stuff is.
Who all was in the vent last night?
Shotaro lets out a loud whistle and raises his right arm. "OI!" He raises his voice and shouts in a second attempt to gather everyone's attention. "Before we start pointing fingers and taking alibis. We should finish with the evidence we found. We aren't any closer to finding the culprit even if we move to alibis. We need to work together and think. Alexei made a good suggestion. We should find what chemicals were used."
I agree! We can use the chemical list to figure out some things too while we're at it!
I like the idea of testing chemicals, is it possible to light them on fire in the corner? I experienced the chemicals myself so I should be able to differentiate them.
Good idea. Anyone got a lighter?
"Ok so i'm assuming everyone wants to talk about chemicals. I have some understanding on it so i'm willing to also test and help out I guess..."
"I don't have a lighter, but I punched a guy so hard once he exploded. Then he grew to giant size."
Gin
Real helpful there, Banner.
"Guess it is good to see what started the fire. But are we certain that it is the same as Alex's fire?"
(edited by Micah)
Okay so we got lists and we got some with experience. Pushing up his glasses to look pretty cool right about now Alexei gets to work. So the stuff I found was odorless and very weird feeling. Can the type be found on the chart or is it known by anyone else in the vicinity? Helpful suggestions only please. We could also start with the stuff on the mop.
I'd like to present my final piece of evidence! Star pulls out a lighter. I believe this lighter was used to start the fire! This is the only known way someone could light something without a bunson burner that I know is in this facility, so it's better than nothing.
"... I don't have a lighter, but she does."
Star, could you test the chemicals?
Of course I can! Let's just put one chemical in the corner of the room, and then I'll test it.
"A lighter ok it's a fire source but what the hell did they use to light the room is my question it can't be one of the furniture or such so I'm guess some composition of chemicals was used and ignited....The only places were Lab 11 and 12 which we discussed were the known areas where you can snatch those chemicals."
Careful not to kill us all, okay?
Okay. So, which chemical should I test first?
Hrm.. That sounds like gasoline, if I recall, they add a smell component to gasoline when refining, so it could be gasoline without that component. Just a guess though.
Gin
If that's the case, someone would have to know how to make gasoline. Who would know that, I wonder?
Even if it's a guess it does sound reasonable. Alexei thinks for a second. I say we try the mop chemicals first since they were pretty effective with the Alex scenario. Someone might have even taken inspiration from that and remade the stuff.
Hurry up, guys.
Okay then, mop chemicals it is. Star takes the mop chemicals, move to a corner of the room and burns the chemicals.
The mop chemicals, when poured, have a smell that is very noticable as Star lights them. The smoke will be just about what Sho felt in the vents yesterday.
Nngh.. Yeah thats the same one as the one I experienced before. It's the mop chemicals alright.
Okay, so we know the mop chemicals started the fire. Where does that get us?
"I believe that could be what killed the victim." Naoya said, touching his left hand to his face, a bit of a habit from him anyway
"Question, why didn't we asked Alex what chemicals he used to cause the mop fire..?"
That gets us a free pass to the local arcade second person I forgot the name of. Alexei rolls his eyes and gets comfortable on that trial bench of his. I'll be real honest here I haven't paid attention to any of these proceedings or care about the victim. But anyone could figure that maybe you wanna find out the lab of those chemicals then or at least look to those with known use of them.
... let's just burn the other chemicals too? They might be related to the case?
What about the other chemicals? Perhaps we can test those? We know that the mop chemical was used to kill Cake Cat, that means that only people who have access to that could have killed them.
"Not to sure you wanna burn more chemicals maybe we need to keep some for later analysis? Your call peeps." Cent then walked over to the the scorching chemicals and tried to collect any ashes emitting off of kindling flames
@Alexei Specifically, we need to know which chemical you found in the vents. What were the properties? Was it like the mop chemicals we found?
@Starwaddle I want you to test the chemicals found in Lab 11, the one without the mop chemicals.
@Naoya_Toudou *She points a finger at Naoya* NO, THAT'S WRONG! Everyone here had access to the chemicals and the vent and the lighter. The question is who used them.
(edited by Kido)
"Considering this person was out combining and mixing chemicals it seems to be someone with a background in chemistry would you not say Kido?"
"Good call, Kido..." Naoya paused for a bit before asking, "Is that your name?" He sheepishly scratched the back of his head, "Sorry, I was unconcious while everyone was listening to Monokuma the first day..."
Sheesh who died and made ya boss. With a roll of the eyes. Alexei walks over to Star and checks the area for any residue of the mop chemical. He just needs a quick feel of it to see if its the same. Hopefully it wasn't all burned.
Star grabs the other chemicals and starts burning them, one by one in various parts of the room.
Lucky for him, there were a few stray drops that didn't get lit. It's hard to tell the difference between this chemical and the one in the vent, but it's not exactly a pleasant scent. The chemical from the mostly-empty Lab 11 bottle burns especially well.
(edited by Cait_Sith)
@Naoya_Toudou Yes, that's my name. I was out like a light too, don't worry. @Cent Yes, I think that's a possibility, but not a guarantee.
@Alexei Make sure to inspect the Lab 11 chemicals as well? What did you find?
"That one from Lab 11 burns more than the others, so... I don't know, it seems like it could be the one that burned Cake's room."
(edited by Gou_Fukami)
I say both chemicals were used. They were probably mixed together.
I think that's a safe assumption, Star.
"Both chemicals...but then that'll mean that we'd have to test them, but we aren't scientists so..." Naoya said sighing, though, in his gut, he knew something will tell them which one was used.
Oof okay this stuff smells so its not the same stuff I found in the vents. He swats at his nose to get the lingering smell out and wipes the stuff off on one of the walls. The mop chems were not used in the possible vent burning. The smell difference is clear.
So...now what?
Anyone got the other lab stuff to test? Alexei yawns while wondering about the length of this trial.
"Do we have more things to test? Or do we move on to the clocks? Because I've got a hunch when it comes to these clocks."
A... Alright The grey-haired girl, who totally hadn't fallen asleep shortly before this started. Nope, no way. Finally speaks up. She's clearly shaking a bit as she glances around the trial room So we know what chemicals they used... B... But how is this helpful? Everyone had equal access to all the chemicals
"Guess we have to check the one from lab 11, that's my guess.." Naoya shrugged, though, thought he found something that could have contributed to the trial, but whatever...might as well try to find out who's the killer.
"Well i guess we just narrow our list the mop chemicals are eliminated from the list and maybe if we find which specific ones were used we get a better idea on who this case went out. My hypothesis really. Most of Lab 11 chemicals are fishy since they have already been pre-used and gathered up we may wanna look into this and see if the reaction is something vital."
Hrm.. Well we could always check who went into what labs, lower our list of suspects down, I don't think that a person would be crazy enough to check every lab and then kill someone in such a short time. So they must have known about the two chemicals.
Our killer would have to know that there is also a lighter in the labs, so that's a thing too.
Anyone who visited the lab probably investigated enough to find the lighter. That's pretty important.
Anyway, let's move on to alibis. Where was everyone during the events yesterday?
"So we found the chemicals that were used, right? I have somethong to bring up..."
Go for it.
“Well we’re at many stake ends so whatcha got Micah before we advance topics?”
The grey-haired girl looks up, briefly shaking her head and muttering something under her breath I know I was in my room when the fire broke out. I.... Thought everyone was..... The girl glances down nervously, shaking her head again before Micah catches her attention, the girl's head bolting up to the sound of her voice W.... What is it?
"The clocks.. What are they made of? And when we found the body, the timer was at zero. You think this is important for the case?"
(edited by Micah)
@Micah The clocks were a motive. I don't think they had anything to do with the murder, though. I believe her clock wasn't one of the 24 hour ones.
"...but perhaps it was set once the person died, after all, Monokuma DID mention that it had a fate worse than death, NOT death itself." Naoya brought up
“They could have possibly been a fear motive for our killer the assumption was they felt through into panic and murdered out of fear of the timer. It would be easy to say the 24 hour clock people are the suspects of this claim but we can’t be certain at all...”
The girl shakily raises her hand, taking a deep breath before answering The clocks are made of a standard iron covering for a largely silicon motherboard common to all digital clocks. Though, I think its safe to say our captors consider them important somehow, considering that.... The girl pauses for a moment, cat ears still on her head as she looks off to the side and nodding before she continues T... They punished me for breaking one. If it was irrelevant they wouldn't have bothered
"When the motive happened, Katsuo, CakeCat and I got the 24 hour ones though. Doesn't the timing seemed off?" What am I thinking?! It most likely Isn't important for the case...
@Naoya_Toudou What's that got to do with the victim's death or who killed them?
Well, I don't have a motive. As for an alibi, I was sleeping. I heard screaming, so I woke up and kicked the door down. Why did I kick it? Because this is me we're talking about.
As I said before, I was in my room the entire time. I blocked it with bookshelves just like the victim as well. Although... I'll admit, as the Ultimate Illusionist, I could've turned invisible and left the room. I didn't it, but I'm sure that's hard to believe...
Gin
The 24 hours clocks put Lucky, Casanova and Marion in a suspicious light. Are they our only suspects? But, if you want my alibi, I was drawing in my room. *Gin tears a page out of his notepad that has a variety of shapes on it and shows it off.* The emblems here include the Hojo, the Tachibana, the Shimazu. I do it when I get antsy. I do it when I get antsy.
(edited by Gin)
Hrm.. It could be another person of a longer clock trying to frame a person with 24 hour clock. We can't rule out that possibility. As for me. I was in my room trying to recover from the fire. I think it's safe to say I wouldn't have tried to investigate the lab if I knew what the chemicals were
"I'd like to mention something about the clocks, too. The 24 hours were the ones closest to a 'punishment worse than death', which didn't do much in the end. However, the pressure is enough to make one of them stressed enough to kill. The most likely scenario is that the killer is one of those with a 24 hour clocks. Or at least, that's what the killer wants us to think. I'm thinking the killer is a part of the 72 hours club, and timed their kill just so the 24 hour clocks would reach 0."
@Gou_Fukami Wait... you're definitely on to something...
Hmm...I might be spitballing here, but what time were the 24 hour clocks set to go off?
“That’s actually really clever Gou that would be a major throw off this gives a reason for why the other two groups would kill over the 24 hour group.” Cent felt like dodging the question a bit since it was a vocal one but spoke up. “I guess we are also talking alibi’s and I’m guessing you all want mine right?”
Marion..... The grey-haired girl looks off to the side, balling up one of her fists with a sigh, before looking back to Gin before monotonously repeating, almost as though she had rehearsed this My name is Orchis. Like the flower she so loved. Please call me such. the name thing finally settled, Orchis turns back to Gou, tapping her fingers on her own podium as she does so You can't rule out the 50 hour people either, if they waited until the last moment its possible they wished to see what the "fate worse than death" was in case they had to kill again to receive more promotions
@Centunculus_fur Yes, please.
@Starwaddle Same time as the announcement, that's for sure.
Alexei wakes up from his pleasant nap with a snort. We still doing this trial stuff ...?
@Alexei Don't nap in the middle of a trial, idiot!
We're doing alibis right now, Alexei. Where were you during the events and can anyone back you up?
Well sorry bossy person. This was taking too so long that I just passed out. He yawns once again for added effect.
(edited by Alexei)
Gin
*Gin gives Orchis a thumbs up* Flora it is. Now then. Back to the matter at hand, yes?
“Alright....i’ll bite. So after the announcement to head to our dorms which many of us followed I decided to stay back I was curious about something in the incinerator room there was a shaft that lead upwards but was blocked off by metal bars so I decided to try and find some corrosive materials in the storage area to burn it off. Long story short it ended up working a bit but I was there for most of the night till the body discovery scrounging through the incinerator and storage room....Yeah sketchy I know...”
@Centunculus_fur I trust you... but is there anyone else that could back you up?
"......." good. No one has pressed him for an alibi
I can back it up, I was watching him while he tried to go to the incinerator. I didn't observe the chemical usage though.
“Actually I do have two pieces one is just comes down to my physical strength and abilities. The vents as you should know can be accessed and you can reach other people’s rooms I did it for both Alexei and Gou’a room during the skull incident. We say the fire was started by someone going through the vents into a room, my alibis come here. Gin when you observed the vents at all did you noticed any physical damage to the hatch or such when you looked at it?”
Nope no one can back me up. He shrugs. This is what happens when you don't like people. I can say though that I was in the closet and decided to come out with the screams. Sad to say i'm not free anymore ladies. He smiles at his own joke.
@Alex_Liang Pipe up! Alibi time!
Orchis perks up a bit, the cat ears on her head twitching as she hear's Cent's alibi. The girl glances off to the side, muttering "of course master." under her breath before finally taking a deep breath and standing up So you admit that you were the only one NOT in your room at the time leading up to the murders, not only that, but as a robot you have little to no reason to fear fire, indicated by your exploration of the incinerator. In addition, you're in the 50 hour group, the one with the most motive to get their killing done as soon as the 24 hour group's time was up, correct?
Gin
Hmm. When I was looking at the vent in cake's room, all I found was a bunch of scorch marks. No damage other than that I don't think.
I think it's safe to assume that the killer poured a trail of the chemicals leading into the room, and lit it from there. Thus, he or she was able to light the flames without having to break the vent and would explain the scorch marks.
"Did we ever get an explanation for the soot that spans in the vents around every room?"
@Gou_Fukami Smoke.
Actually, the soot just spans through rooms one through thirteen.
Gin
Hmm. If that was the strategy, they'd risk setting themselves on fire, wouldn't they? Unless of course, they had something to do it for them. Now, what do we know that is small enough to travel with vents easily and not be risky to lose for the one setting the fire?
Natsuki had woken up from the announcements made by Murder Bear and so she grabbed a quick bite from the apple and headed down the elevator to the trial room with everyone else. She also got some evidence from Murder Bear. They're were 3 skulls, but from what she was told, they were patrolling skulls? So, she got up and showed what she had. Well, I only got is three skulls, but they were patrolling the halls in the floor? Think they saw anything suspicous? Think they might saw the killer?
“Yes I was out of my room and yes I was in the 50 hour group but hold on Orchis and I will explain.....and robots can’t have concerns for their lives and systems I may be rust but I need to take care of myself...Robophobe..” He then turns to Gin and nods at his confirmation but then Kido shuts down his first alibi....oh this ain’t good. “Oh you...make a good point Kido...then allow time to move to my second point of evidence.” Cent Pulls Out two Test tubes carrying ash samples and shows them to the other students. “Anyone wanna guess what this is?”
I was asleep. My skulls can vouch and I couldn't climb into the vents
@Natsuki The skulls never found anything, if I heard correctly.
"Cent was actually testing the differences of the ashes while I was in Lab 11 with him by the way. "
Gin
That would be the point I was making. If I'm wrong about this, I apologise ahead of time, but... well, we've already seen Alex's skulls able to fly through vents easily. Is it to much of a stretch to say he could have used one to set the trail of chemicals?
Interesting... Uuhh Kido was it? I mean, the skulls might of at least give us something useful? Saying this with a concerned expression on her face while tapping on the top of one of the skulls with her finger.
@Starwaddle Look at the map, Room 12 is next to room 16, not 13.
She shudders at the sight of the skulls and tries to avoid looking at them. Clearly she's terrified of them.
“What Micah said one contains the ashes on me and the other is the rooms ashes both are different compositions complete so I can say those ashes were not me near a fire at all.”
@Gou_Fukami Riddle me this. Why was the vent in YOUR room torn off with force?
Monokuma yawns. "Come on, this is getting boring! Hurry it up already!"
(edited by The_Murder_Bear)
"... What? How?"
Oh...well, that's weird I think. You'd think they'd all be numerically ordered, but I guess not.
You didn't know? I investigated your room, and the vent was torn right off the wall.
So then.... Orchis glances down for a moment, taking a deep breath and concentrating, only for her line of thought to get interrupted by the bear. She immediately glances up and shouts You know, it would be faster if you would let us think.... Now... Where was I Orchis puts a few fingers on her chin, taking a deep breath as she considers the next bit
"... How the hell? Why?"
"Sorry." *recalls skulls to bag* "well, my younger, smaller body is too short to get up there"
@Gou_Fukami I don't suspect you... but I do think it's interesting...
"Actually Kido I can explain why his Vent hatch was knocked off.....I broke it off when we were chasing the skulls....Don't believe me ask Alexei for verification."
@Alex_Liang Hey! You haven't given us an alibi yet. Where were you, and what's this about burning mops. You'd better explain everything in detail right now.
Hmm, then I guess these skulls aren't helping anyone then... She scooted aside the calcium-heavy and dusty skulls aside. She quickly dusted her sleeves and shivered a little since she realized that they used to belong to someone once.
as the skulls return, Orchis finds her train of thought again, the girl's eyes light up as she points to alex Don't be ridiculous it would have been easy to use a stool or something to boost up to the vents. In addition, you're clearly comfortable with fires, and your skulls could have easily been used to pour and light the chemical with no risk to you. Could probably clean themselves off too
@Centunculus_fur Well thanks to that, an innocent person died. That's clearly what the murderer used to get in.
"That is possible, but where are the stools? I didn't see any around here."
Gin
Alex didn't need a stool. Allow me to say again, because I'm not sure people heard me the first time. And again, if I'm wrong about this, I apologise ahead of time, but we've already seen Alex's skulls able to fly through vents easily. Is it to much of a stretch to say he could have used one to set the trail of chemicals?
"You are correct, Gin. But, Alex, what are your skulls made of? What is inside them?"
Orchis flinches, returning back to shaking as she tries to formulate the words T... The point was that being short doesn't mean you couldn't enter the vents. If nothing else you could easily reach it by standing on your bed. But.... as he said. Orchis points to Gin, taking a deep breath to steady herself Even with that being said, there's no reason Alex would have had to enter the vents at all. Even if he was in his room, he could easily have sent his skulls through the vents, to lab 11, collected the chemical, poured it in, and lit up the room. Plus, he has a tendency to use fire, as exhibited by the mop incident
"Well i mean he's not the only one that uses fire and chemical and such lets make that clear...actually that does bring something up since we been talking a bit about it for so damn long and I clear my alibi's up.." Cent reaches back and finally reveals his evidence 'Katsuo's Clock' "Not sure how relevant this is but I found this scrapper right here I do believe this belong to that....Katsuo fellow...Found it in the Waste Disposal area damn thing is scorched and corrode as hell....I'm pretty sure somebody went ahead and was playing around with it but the effects look....concerning."
@Centunculus_fur Weird. So, it was just destroyed right? Not like a bomb or anything?
Orchis nervously glances off to the side, taking a deep breath and shaking her head before raising her hand a few seconds later I can answer that one. I was trying to find out what the bear did to these clocks so I cracked one open to see what was inside. Nothing seemed out of the ordinary, so I destroyed it to see if they would be upset. they were, and that's why I have these. Orchis points to the cat ears atop her head, punishment for the 24 hour people once the time was up
"So you took his clock and tampered with it in there?"
(edited by Micah)
"Yeah the damn thing was burnt and corroded to hell that's some mad chemistry....Orchis why did you set it on fire and melt it? What did you happen to use on it?"
"My skulls are skulls. The human kind. And, kido, the burning mops were so that everyone would stop chasing my skulls. And I was asleep, thinking about soul eating. And Gin, that would not be possible. (D&d skulls have a dex of 8ish, so less than normal so not enough skill)."
Orchis takes a deep breath, putting her right pointer on her lip as the girl giggles a little and speaks I asked Katsuo for his clock while everyone else was exploring the vents. First I removed the back plating to examine it for any sort of bugs our captors might have put on it. There wasn't anything that stuck out, but to be safe I went ahead and destroyed the thing. With the clock gone, anything our captors might have needed it for would be rendered useless. If they didn't react that meant the clocks were irrelevant and nothing was lost. However, the bear got angry with me for it and brought out a replacement immediately. That means the clocks must matter to them to some extent. Perhaps they help to keep track of us? It could have been how they keep track of who is in what time group Orchis's eyes are downcast, focused on the front of her podium I thought we might have been able to confuse them and fool the punishment like that. Guess that doesn't matter now though. As for the how, I needed lab 11's bunsen burner for it, only useful inside of that room
@Alex_Liang You're a very likely suspect... If you burned the mops creating smoke, it would've have kept others away and shielded your crime from being seen.
... Star opens a bag of chips and starts eating, tuning out the conversation in favor of thinking about complicated and bizarre ways to kill people.
Gin
You'll forgive me if I don't believe that without an explanation, Alex.
@Alex_Liang If you really aren't the murderer, then please, explain yourself. Your life and all of our lives are on the line.
"She died much later than the whole skull incident and, where is my last skull? I have four but I have only gotten 3 when I sent for them" Alex starts playing with an old femur.
"Lab 11 oh right that place were you the one that rearranged the chemicals and stuff into one group Orchis? I tried examing them for some experimentation but they were again all grouped and all were used?"
She almost vomits seeing the femur T-Then... that's because it likely burned in the fire you started. Shouldn't YOU of all people know where the skull is?
Orchis shakes her head, looking back to Cent I did organize them somewhat, but the only chemical I used was the strongest solvent I could find in order to dissolve the back of the clock and get a look at its insides. The other chemicals had nothing to do with me.
Gin
Yes, but you still had your skulls much later than the skull incident. After all, you just now got rid of them, yes? *Gin shakes his head* Regardless, it could have been possible you sent one of yours skulls into the vents with the chemicals and then set the trail on fire. This fore also could have burnt up your skull. It's just a theory at the moment, but you can't deny it's a possibility
"Actually, I have the missing skull on me. I wanted to break it open to see how he was using them."
"Umm.. Hey, Gou, do you still have the skull you caught in the vents by any chance?"
Seeing the skull, Kido almost passes out
@Micah "I just said I do."
Gin
Y-you have the last... You could've said something before, you know that Banner?
"do you think you could do what one of my skulls could have done yourself? A human skull is not made for dexterous actions, and in fact the most dexterous part of the head would be the tongue, which would rot. And for the first thing, I was with Micah, remember that? And for the murder, I only had enough flammable to light the mops, and my vent is still there, meaning , since I didn't leave after I entered, I couldn't have done the deed."
@Alex_Liang You say you only had enough to light the mop, but are you really telling the truth? After all, we found an empty bottle of the mop flammable AND an empty bottle of the flammable used to kill Cake.
Cent look and seems to try and show a gesutre of appology to Orchis. "Appology then it seems my cruiosity was sowing to many seeds of doubt, seems to drive anyone mad."
Where?
In the labs, where else?
Wouldn't that flammable have someone's handprints?
Gin
And you think we have the means to take finger prints here? That would makes things to easy.
(edited by Gin)
Well, I remembered something about using cocoa powder for the same effects so.. And also gin or kido, what are your alibis?
I was in my room with the door barricaded. Sho is my witness. Granted, I could've snuck out invisible, but I didn't.
"Gin was with Gou and I for most of the time."
"Hey kiddos, don't tell me you forgot about this!" Monokuma holds up a skull in a 'To be or not to be' pose. "This was found in the vents!"
Gin
Yeah, couldn't have done much without Lucky and Banner noticing me running off. *Gin looks at the skull Monokuma was holding* Another one?! Alex! Explain!
(edited by Gin)
"A 5th skull?"
Orchis takes a deep breath, glancing off to the side before, turning her attention to Alex, Orchis furrows her eyebrows and finally slams a fist on the podium in front of her This is getting absurd, can't we just end the trial already? Alex is the one with the most motive, the most ability, and he's the only psychopath here with an inclination to kill for fun. Its obviously him. Orchis gives the fifth skull a sideways glance, before shaking her head What of it? I'm sure that unholy idiot brought plenty of skulls if he can just leave them lying around.
Was sho seeing you in the room?
"...A skull..." Naoya said to himself as he remembered what the skulls do, "Does this mean that it saw what happened?" Naoya asked, assuming that the skull possibly saw what happened.
Hmm...say, Orchis, why is your old clock scorched? I think you said you only used a corrosive.
Hmm? Why are you so hasty Orchis? You have been oddly on edge the entire trail. You never did give us an alibi did you?
@Alex_Liang No, but he heard me.
After seeing the skull, Alex got pissed " who moved it?! That skull was to watch for vent activity, and since it was taken out, nothing! And I do not kill for fun too. If I did try, someone would have a bullet in their head, or be totally unmarked
Gin
*Gin looks at Alex* Do you... care about those skulls or something?
"Skull, what did you see?"
@Marionette Hey, calm down. I know I said I suspect Alex, but there are still loose ends to tie up. Our lives are on the line.
"...Hey Alex did you have anyone helping you with the skulls?"
Orchis sighs and shakes her head, glaring at Star That wasn't my clock, it was Katsuo's. And as I said earlier, I used a bunsen burner to melt its circuitry to test if it was important to our captors. Guess you were asleep or something. Orchis glances off to the side, before shrugging her shoulders and looking back at Sho Like I said, I was asleep in my room when the fire broke out. I heard the sound and rushed over to get a fire extinguisher for Gin to use going in there. I just don't want this dumb trial to take longer than it has to. The sooner we're done the sooner we get our lives back
@gin Yeah. That skull that monofuck has was the Necromancer who killed my teacher and whose soul I sold to star @micah No
(edited by Alex_Liang)
...The skull doesn't respond. It's broken.
Okay...but why burn the circuits? Wouldn't it be easier just to smash them? And that soul...I totally forgot about it. Whoops!
(edited by Starwaddle)
Gin
*GIn closed his eyes and let out a long sigh. His breath fogged up as is it were a cold day. He then opened his eyes* Alex. I was wrong. I'm sorry. *Gin looked at Orchis* Flora. Where did you get the fire extinguisher I used to put out the fire in Cake's room?
(edited by Gin)
"Wait but even then Corrosives should be the only material you need to melt the thing. Shorching the thing would barley do a nick to it honestly so I don't see why you need to do it. Look you need to calm down and be patient this trial ain't ending anytime soon we are stuck in a deadlock as it is.
How did it break? For gin: s'ok
(edited by Alex_Liang)
Orchis takes a deep breath, shaking her head as she mutters to herself. After a few moments to regain her composure, she starts explaining monotonously I used fire to make sure I destroyed all of the circuitry. Crank it up high enough and you can melt most of it, eliminating anything our captors might have used to keep track of us in it. Orchis looks over to Gin, tilting her head and nodding I went to lab 11 to get it, although lab 12 also has similar lab safety gear. 11 was the closest one, so it seemed most prudent. Finally, the girl twists her hair between her fingers, thinking for a moment before shaking her head I was getting impatient, it took so long to burn through the metal covering. I would have used fire from the start but that risked destroying its circuits before I got the chance to observe them. After all, at its highest potential a bunsen burner can be used as a makeshift blowtorch
Gin
According to the map, Lab 14, Lab 13 and the supply closet would be before Lab 11. We were in a hurry. Wouldn't it have been quicker to check in there to see if they all had similar safety gear?
That doesn't make sense. You hada high corrosive on your hands, why use fire at all? You could just take thing out and then dissolve everything. The logic doesn't make sense to me.
"Really that seem odd Orchis you went to Lab 11 over 12 even though 12 was way closer? Seems rather odd you are so attached to lab 11 for some reason don't you think?"
Yeah.. But then she was in a rush soo but she would look in the closer ones soo
(edited by Alex_Liang)
Orchis sighs and glances over to the side, nodding before looking back to GIn and what if there wasn't? I didn't know for sure, and it would have wasted several minutes checking everywhere in all three locations, only to end up at lab 11 anyways. This was... Much safer. The girl quickly turns back to Star glaring at her with a sigh are you deaf or something? It took almost ten minutes to eat through the back of the clock, it would have been much longer to dissolve the motherboard as well. I used fire to save time once I was certain I'd need to destroy the thing. Orchis tilts her head at Cent, glancing down at her tablet before shaking her head lab 11 is slightly closer than lab 12, assuming you can't walk through walls, they're along the same hallway and 12 is closer to the turning point.
Why don't we test it then? Can we grab a bunsen burner and this corrosive? I volunteer my clock to be used.
@Marionette Why did you have to use corrosives and fire at all? Couldn't you just smash it open? If not, I'm sure Cent or Gou would've done it.
Fair enough, but what was the rush? It's not like you had to go anywhere. Is it possible...you knew you would be in trouble if you were found out?
Gin
*Gin nods at Sho* I agree. We should test these claims. I think they're pointless now anyway, so I can't see the bear having a problem with it. I'll leave it to you, Vision.
"Whoops I messed up my graphical locations." Ladies and Gentlemen worlds dumbest robot in existence. "Anyway why not try that plan out Sho i'm suddenly curious hey i'll even offer my clock to help out."
Orchis mutters to herself, looking off to the side before glancing back up at Kido out the corner of her eye smashing isn't very thorough, it leaves all sorts of big pieces. If they planted something in the clocks, smashing may not have destroyed it. I used the corrosives to look inside of it, then fire to destroy it as a test. The girl shudders for a moment, taking a deep breath and looking back to Star I.... I knew they'd do something about it if the clocks were important, so it... Definitely crossed my mind that I could be punished for it.... And I was right about that. Orchis gestures to the ears on her head to make the point before looking at sho I say go for it, if it'll end this meaningless line of questioning
Understood, lets try it then, what corrosive did you use Orchis? What about the fire? I'm assuming just a bunsen burner on full heat? Sho then takes his clock out and place it in the center of the podiums, looking to the bear Can we leave to the lab? We have to grab a few things.
No need. Chaos powers, activate! Suddenly, a bottle of the corrosive and a bunson burner are in a corner of the room. Bunson burner won't need gas, so go ahead and do you stuff.
"Already got you covered Sho." Cent pulls out chemicals from his storage compartment these are all from lab 11. "I never got to actually examine these throughly so you can use them."
...It'll take a while for the corrosives to eat through. Many seem to have been tested, but only certain ones eat the metal... The bunsen burner won't do much to the outside, but the inside is another story.
Orchis takes a deep breath, nodding to Sho I'll point out which one I used, no point in describing it. I did just use a bunsen burner at full heat, nothing too fancy. Orchis looks over to Cent as they pull out a variety of chemicals, she examines them for a moment, before pointing to the strongest corrosive (yes, that's really the description i used)+ it was that one. I didn't want to wait around all day
"Alright, I'm getting bored. 30 minutes left, then it's voting time! We gotta hurry this up!" once time runs out dm/pm cait and tell them who you think the culprit is
Hmm...wait...if you used a bunson burner, why were flammable chemicals out too? That doesn't make much sense if you ask me.
"Well the chemicals seem to have done more danage then the Busan Burner can ever do so that wraps that theory I guess? So that leads back to the main question why did you need to burn the thing at all the corrosives clearly did it more efficiently?"
Orchis sighs and glances about for a moment, muttering to herself before shaking her head and glancing at Star beats me, there were a bunch of chemicals out when I first got there, I didn't bother reading and putting all of them up before starting. Just a coincidence. Orchis looks back to Cent, raising and eyebrow before saying with a shrug the corrosives are better at eliminating the outer shell, I only melted the inside, which the bunsen burner is highly effective, and much faster, against. Exactly like I said earlier. This line of questioning is going nowhere
Thanks everyone. Now, lets begin the experiment. Taking the corrosive, he begins to pour it onto the clock slowly, careful not to spill it after waiting approximately 10 minutes he checks the damage before using the bunsen burner at full heat to see if it would scorch Hrm.. I see.. Well, your testimony lines up correctly with what we have shown here.. We have no reason to use this as evidence then. You're off the hook I suppose. I suppose that leaves Alex as the most suspicious.
"I agree with that, Cent. So Orchis, did you used the burner to make sure it was destroyed fully or something? If so, it must have taken quite some time, huh?"
A coincidence? Maybe...maybe not...to be honest, I think you might be the killer. Why would chemicals just be laying around all grouped up? After all, if I remember correctly, only corrosives and flammables were grouped up. Nobody entered Lab 11 that I remember...well, besides you. I might be having a moment of bad memory, but my gut is just saying that something doesn't add up here.
Orchis takes a deep breath, smiling as she nods to Micah Exactly as I said earlier, I used the burner to melt the inner workings of the clock, I didn't try to destroy the whole shell. It didn't take too long, only a few minutes. Much faster than the corrosive would have worked.
Is that really the truth? Something is off... "Is that it? It felt we we finally got somewhere..."
(edited by Micah)
"Sho, earlier you were doing 'something', that's why the skull thing started. What were you doing?"
Crap Crap everything backfired am I wrong was I just chasing a false hope? I thought I was leading us to a killer but is seems I only lead everyone to doom....this feels awful like...despair "Gah dammit...maybe i'm wrong.....well at least that explanation explained why all the chemicals are grouped and used but yeah nothing..."
Orchis takes a deep breath, muttering something off to the side before tapping her fingers on her podium If that's all the questions we have, I believe we can get started voting yes? Time is almost up anyways, there's not much left to follow new threads.
"Orchis, tell me this, how many flammables were near the group of chemicals in Lab 11?"
(edited by Micah)
Orchis glances at Micah, shrugging with her eyes closed Like I said, I didn't pay attention to all the chemicals. I don't know how many of them were flammable, I simply looked for the strongest corrosive and used that
"Orchis, do you know if anyone was there before you in Lab 11?
I don't, I didn't see anyone in there when I entered, but they could have easily left. Similarly, anyone could have come in during the evening after I burned the clock and I wouldn't have been aware of it
I.. Prefer not to answer.
"Wait which ones were the strongest? Actually cruious never got the time to use any of them but they all look very useful to experiment with."
(edited by Centunculus_fur)
From what I remember, only Orchis has been in Lab 11 before the death. That's all I've got.
Sooooo.... Who is the culprit then?
@ sho Just say it! This is life or death, goddammit! Your fucking secrecy is not worth more than the lives of other people!
"So Orchis, did they all look full or..?"
Look, I'm not the culprit, so why would you put the blame on me? There isn't any evidence. What it seems like, is that you want to shift attention off of yourself.
For the most part, yes, there didn't seem to be much missing before I left. Its likely that the culprit entered after I left, and set everything up while the others were sleeping. Orchis casts a sideways glance at Cent, before shaking her head not to point anyone out specifically. But we do know one person whose presence fits that time line
(edited by Marionette)
...now that's just wrong! Why would Cent need a flammable in a fucking incinerator!?
"But that can't be right..Cent and I entered pretty much together. When we went in there, the chemicals were bundled up and were used. If one was used it would have been a different story..."
(edited by Micah)
Orchis takes a deep breath, glaring at Star with a huff Wonderful observation, he wouldn't if he spent all his time in the incinerator. Now whoever it was who killed them definitely needed to bring a flammable through the vents in order to pour it into the victim's room and burn them. If you don't have anything intelligent to add, maybe you should just shut your mouth Orchis raises an eyebrow, loking over to Micah with a sigh, before glancing between her and Sho I think this is more than enough to require an explanation for you, the one person who's hardly been seen, and are oddly evasive about where you were today. Sho Kasugi
@Marionette The incinerator didn't even connect to the vents if you remember correctly.
Orchis sighs, looking back over at Kido No, I don't remember that, I've never been in the vents, and was only in the incinerator room to trash a clock. I most certainly didn't investigate their connections
...hmm? I thought the theory we had going was that our killer used a trail of liquid and then set it on fire. What you just said was that the killer straight up poured and then lit the flammable. It might be a small detail, but you've been acting a bit suspicious now, like you're trying to pin the blame on different people. Even then, you knew burning the clock wouldn't work, so why trash it in the incinerator? Things just don't add up anymore.
"Even if Sho was dodgy how would he have done he could have grabbed the chemicals light it up and how would he dispose of it not like he had the any window to do it?"
Ack.. I can promise you it's not me. I don't have a motive, nor do I have the means to kill anybody. As for my secrecy, I don't think you would like my answer to what I was doing. So, I shall refrain.
@Marionette Do you have anyone to reaffirm that? I don't want to suspect you, but you seem like a likely suspect. Please! Prove me wrong...
"Alright, times up! Time to vote! Wiiiiith some viewer help! Anyone who's watching right now can go online and vote with the cast of this killing game!" in other words cait is gonna make a voting thread, and this is also where we're gonna call it for the night. People in the thread must also vote in voting thread.
Orchis just blankly stares at Star, scratching her head for a moment as though trying to solve some impossible enigma, before sighing and shaking her head First off, fire did work. We JUST tested that. Two, I didn't throw it in the incinerator specifically, I threw it in the same room. Things would add up if you bothered remembering any details at all. Orchis sighs and shakes her head, looking between Sho and Cent I'm just saying, he was likely around the lab in the timeframe between my leaving and Cent's entry. I'm not some evil genius, you'd have to ask Sho how he did it. But I think his only defense "you don't wanna hear the answer" speaks more than enough volumes Orchis looks over at Kido, muttering to herself before glancing off to the side and pointing at a point on the wall she's been looking back to this whole time Of course, Master has been watching me this entire time. He knows I've never gone to the trouble of going somewhere so out of my way
I think I know who is the culprit, some cracks slipped through...I think.
Tears form in Kido's eyes. She tries to hide them, but obviously can't I... I don't want to send someone off to die... Isn't this just as bad as murder...? I'm so sorry...
Nngh.. Sho's face gets contorted as Orchis keeps pressuring him, feeling the burn as he tries to come up with an excuse, is this how it felt to be chosen? To have judgement passed on him? I.. I suppose I don't have anything to defend myself with.. But I'm innocent! It's somebody else!
Nevermind. PM/DM me. Public poll idea scrapped. Just... do this. Vote by 4 EST I guess. I'm just gonna freaking sleep.
(edited by Cait_Sith)
enough of this shit *Alex points a pistol at Sho* "What. Were. You. Doing."
Cent froze up! Dammit no it's all coming down to this they didn't even properly pin anyone down he messed up! The culpirit was there it had to be Orchis the bits were there but he failed......he let the blackend slip right into easy street free from doubt....guess he has to go with a damn gut feeling on this one.
"Woah now Soul Stealer! I thought I had hidden that gun but obviously you found it! Now put it away! You can't kill DURING a class trial!"
"Alex, please calm down! I-i Don't think Sho is the cultprit!!" Fuck fuck fuck fuck! Oh my god please don't do it, Alex..
Sho is initially shocked when he sees the pistol, moving his arm to the holster on the side of his leg but finding nothing, so he resorts to his gift, peering into the future by concentrating as a blue aura surrounds him. Seeing where the bullet would go he calms down and speaks Sorry. But I'm not speaking. Try all you want, you are not going to hit me. I have the gift of Vision. The only way I'm dying is that we get punishment from the bear, and if I get punishment that means we couldn't find the killer, meaning we all get punishment. Unless you are the killer.
