Some of them might have been deleted. Early on in phansite's lifetime, a hacker came along and screwed with the forums. The guy found out how to use js to create posts, create messages, and other trickery. It was so bad that Mishima had to close the site for a day-ish, then reopen the forums.
The guy ended up helping Mish with some basic security (like delays for topic creation, message creation).
That person was me.
I did it.
I'm one of the first people here, and I found it by searching for phansite.com and then phansite.net for shits and giggles.
BTW, the reason that people have that "before x date" is because Mish originally didn't have timestamps for when users created accounts. It's a good solution to not knowing an exact date. The forum has evolved a lot since it was created, and Mish did a really good job with the themeing.
I miss those days, to be honest. It was pure anarchy, but you had a little bit of everything.
From shit posting, to RP, to memelords, to the Old Gods. It was grand.
As I told ya in the Chat, User 2 is Dummy, and I'm 26. I'm not sure who is between that now. I was relatively close to the start, but it was not very long (possibly hours) after I made my account, people went nuts with alts.
So much so, the site would crash every hour due to too many posts.
