Mementos help?
I just got to the fifth area of mementos and I barely spent a minute in there before the sound
of chains and red screen came, so I booked it to the entrance. Does anybody know how long before the reaper shows up? Or better yet, what level should I be before I try and fight him? Please help

It's mostly random, but it's give or take about 15 minutes on average before he starts spawning. If he spawned within a minute of entering a new floor, that's just extremely bad luck. Change to a different screen and come back in and it should repair that.

If you're gonna farm the fucker, wait until flu season in-game. Flu = despair ailment = Reaper dies in three turns. Have lots of escape items if you find a Reaper without the flu. But if you intend on simply fighting him, look up a guide.

or you can max hifumi, because her rank 10 makes it so that escape succeeds everytime

Small tip, the Reaper is a chump, you can typically just outrun or dodge him. If you do get into a battle, make sure you have null curse and bless to not get insta killed and just do your best to run.
