Imaginary Vision - The Pale Cloud Above
[A strange man is waiting inside of the underground mall of Shinjuku. He is reading a seemingly old book; looking closer, you may be able to tell the name of the book is "The Alternative" by a man of the name Lester P. Melbourne, a sort of strange set of words pull together. This man, too, is strange, for he has no mouth, and his eyes can pierce even that beyond the stars. The people are purposly avoiding this man, and there is no reason to question such actions.] It's about time. [He says with no mouth, and no one seems to be able to hear...but you, the chosen few, the newcommers, but most of all, the Survivors, the three sacrificial lambs. He sits there, waiting for the moment to come, in which they will all gather by their own free will, in front of him.] Just to make sure, the ones in this RP are already set, you guys know who you are.
Tot Pop, a totally rockin' young girl who could often be found lurking in such areas was mostly keeping to herself, well, as much as anyone can be in a major shopping district. She was heading out of one of the stores when she hears something, the girl briefly looks around, only to find that seemingly no one else had noticed the person it came from. However, she doesn't find this odd at all, rather it seems like she's more in her element when she approaches Melbourne. "Took them long enough. Take it you've got the deets on my next gig? I'm rockin' and ready to roll!" The girl pumps her fist in the air with a cheerful shout, as though she's not even worried about being noticed talking about her next job. Not that most people would think any more of her than an overenthusiatic punk, with her black and white skull motif and the barbaric looking axe-shaped guitar on her back
Penny walked around the mall, looking extremely confused as she dragged around a red teddy bear that had rough patchwork. It wore a necklace that held a small, blue vial of...whatever. She tugged the sleeves and shirts of any passerby, but when none seem to respond, almost left the mall. That is, until she heard the man's voice. The little girl walked towards the source of the voice with an absent mind, walking right up to Melbourne and having to turn her whole head upwards due to the height difference. "Who are you, Mr.? Are you going to help Penny find her sisters?" She hugged the teddy bear tighter as she looked at Melbourne in the eyes, a horribly innocent smile appearing on her face. The sight of her with someone like him might attract a few glances from passerbys, but all Penny was concerned about right now was to "find her sisters". She giggled giddily as she waited for his response.
A blue-haired woman wandered around the mall. Even now, after over a year, she still wasn’t used to the crowded places humans flocked to. Fortunately, or perhaps unfortunately if the future isn’t favorable, the voice of a mysterious man drew her to a less crowded area of the mall. “Ah, you two girls seem a bit lost like I. Can I help you...? Oh, and hello, sir. Didn’t-“ She suddenly paused when she saw his face. Odd, but... she didn’t voice her concerns yet. This man could not be human, but I can’t say if he means ill or not.
There is this matter to attend to, Jessica Praise, that is very true indeed. But you will know soon enough. [A good groups was gathering around him, so he waited for a moment before "opening his mouth again.] Though my name is known amongst some of you, I shall...I must introduce myself, me. I am Lester P. Melbourne...you may call me Melbourne; I enjoy such designation. [He would take off the old fashioned hat over his head, and reveal a somewhat messy hair. When they saw his face, they could notice some very hard shadows under his eyes, one could assume they were made by the hat. But this is far from the truth. The shadows under his eyes are being casted by themselves, on their own. After this, he would close the book and put on his hat once more.] There is no need for yourselves to tell me your names, for I know everything already. [He makes a circle on the air with the fingertip of his thumb.] Rest assured, you are all getting some help, yes.
Tot would glance around nervously, as though trying to make sure none of the passerby heard them as she waves her arms in front of her as if she's trying to cross something out "Hey hey hey, real identities on the downlow. That's like, the first rule." Tot briefly mutters under her breath after confirming none of the normal passerby heard him "Bunch of amateurs." but with that little bit past Tot would soon return to her normal upbeat and spunky self, cheerfully greeting her other two companions "Pleasure to be workin' with ya'. Name's Tot Pop, and I take it I'll probably be leading our little excursion. Now then, if the gang's all here." Tot takes a step away and cheerfully makes a pair of finger guns pointed at Melbourne "Take it away info man!"
A out of place figured floats about the the halls of the mall one a spree to collect trinkets and stuffed them into his fancy robe that covers itself from the beams of light. It wasn’t to focused any particular person much more happy with its possessions but a voice in the masses catches this small spell punks attention and edges him closer to the source.[i] “A voice deeper then any other? Where does this sound draw fro-“ [i]It froze in place like as if put on ice when this Melbourne spoke his voice captivating him and his appearance spoke of something great almost something mystical yet imposing. “How sinister yet inviting...What help do you bring forth to use.” Being so entranced by this man you could catch this spell punk making some circular motions almost mimicking what the man is doing out of pure curiosity.
Penny looked around the mall, turning her head from side to side a bit slowly before looking back up at Melbourne, her look of confusion being emphasized a bit more. "Penny doesn't understand...is Mr. going to help Penny?" Of course, it immediately went away once she saw him make a circle in the air with his mere fingertip. Penny gazed at it in order to keep her focus, being shocked by the way it looks. "Woah, Mr. Bear says that's pretty cool, right Mr. Bear?" Dead silence comes from the red teddy bear, and she shook the teddy bear a bit before nodding at it. Then, she looked around her and saw the other people. "Penny has to work with others? Who are you all? Penny doesn't know..."
“A... pleasure to meet you, Melbourne.” The woman bowed. This man was unsettling, but that was no reason to throw away manners. But what business did these two young girls and a floating demon have with this person? A memory surfaced... it was him, yes. But why? “If I may ask, what kind of ‘excursion’ are we going on...? Oh, and I’m known as Primarina, dear, but Prima is what most call me.” She addressed that last part to Penny with a friendly smile. It was an odd name, but it was more of a species name than her own.

Working together or working alone, the fact remains that you have one thing to do. Survive, become like the Three Survivors. Will you have faith in a greater cause? Will you rebel and walk your own path? Or will you find the balance of both? [Melbourne movements seem to accelerate at a steady pace, almost like a machine moving perfectly as the circle become clearer. It is black in color, or rather, it seems like black, the human brain cannot exactly recognize a void and the closest thing it does to identify it is with the color "black". His finger gets quicker.] I am not the one in need for help, every one of you are. Perhaps in fighting to stay alive will you truly find what you seek. Perhaps it is mortality what you will discover. [His fingers stops dead on its track, but the circle remains.] The destination i this very city, but a different one. Back in November of 1992.
“So this’ll be like... last time?” Prima’s fingers curled around the gun concealed beneath her clothing. That same place, that same time... And those same demons. But what would be different? One thing was for sure: she’d have to be careful, and keep a watchful eye on these new people if they came aling, especially the human child. “I’m in no position to refuse. I’d regret not coming.” Even though she bowed with an air of actor-style grace, she couldn’t hide the slight nervousness in her voice.
"Ooooh, you're one of those mysterious types." Tot casually leans back, letting the tip of her guitar touch the ground and support her like she's not worried about the situation in the slightest, she giggles at Primarina's overly formal style and waves a hand "Man, you sound like you could use some chill. Well no matter, I was just kickin' it around here anyways. May as well come along."
The atmosphere was suddenly broken by the sound of lead piercing glass. Out of the shattered frame fell headfirst a stylish man in a grey trenchcoat, with heavy pockets sticking out. He shot a strange flair from a gun, errupting into smoke on the ground. A thump could be heard in the fog, soon dissipating and revealing the man standing up, his arms reaching out and aiming two pistols to his sides. "A little late to the show, am I? Not a problem, just got a little catching up to do. No need to explain anything to me, i'm sure it's cryptic and unneccesary anyways."
The Spell Punk would snap out and focus on this man wording. Cryptic just the way he likes it and thus he must come prepared to learn more. "Words in a jumble my favourite kind by very much. Though I must says I feel something underlying them....but how can I no to something potentially prosperous like this." It would give a clap as it remain still not sure what else to do but ponder his words. Specifically his very last ones.
"Penny's still confused. Maybe Daddy will be there. Wait, what is a 1992?" Penny looked around and gazed at everyone else, especially to Rowan's sudden arrival. Her yellow eyes lit up with excitement like they were actual lightbulbs. "Wow, that was so cool!" She looked towards Mr. Bear, and fiddled with the necklace she put on him. Penny leaned in closer as if he were actually saying something, even with the fact that nothing came from the roughly patched up bear other than ominous silence and a bit of stuffing. "Mr. Bear's going to let me go on the trip! Yay!" Even with the fact that she's still a child, the little girl will now be hellbent on going through with this like all the other adults in the room are.
Perhaps like last time, although I cannot guarantee it is the same. If it is fun, nothing else matters. [His image glitches out for a moment before the part of his face where his mouth should be at does, in fact, "conjure up" a mouth. His skin seemed to melt away as he opened his mouth, revealing a mess of razor-sharp teeth, covering his whole mouth from top to bottom. His size increases but he also gets smaller. The decoration too, shifts. It goes from bloodied to well cleaned, to ruined and decayed each time everyone blinks.] Let me take you back to November 13th, 1992. Some of you know very well what's going on in this very day. [Melbourne was gone from sight, and so were all of the people, replaced by new sets of men and women moving in groups with military equipment and white robes on them. On one side, some were preparing to go out, on the other, there were heavily injured ones; some had frostbite, some had awful third degree burns on their faces.] The situation is escalating too fast, no matter what we do, we can't hold them off anymore. [In front of the group they would see a man with long hair and a moustache, and the only thing between them and him was a big city map with various markings all around it. They would also come to realize that they had lost most of their "Powers" and "Equipment". They could feel it deep inside that they had a new set of vaguely related abilities to the ones they had beforehand and knew how to use them. As it stands, they may need to get weapons and armor on their own. Furthermore, any non-human would turn into their human equivalent. Prima was able to retain her weapon of choice, as it has the same exact energy the entire world, they’re in, and even Melbourne, exude. In the end, it would be best if each one took a moment to look at themselves and see exactly what it is they have and can do.]
Prima looked down at her hands. She hadn’t changed physically aside from her clothes, but she could feel something shift within. Her affinity for water had left her. All that was left was the ice from last time and... light as well. A remnant of her Fairy typing. She tried her best to recall the timeline of events from last time as she examined the map. First things first, she’d have to have her location and time in mind. “And with those injuries, there’s no doubt that demons are already here...” That thought sent a chill down her spine. Demons again. What horrors would they cause this time?

"Ah right, time for some action!" Rowan feels around for his gear from before, finding it missing. "Oh, right, we're in the past. Or, a simulation of the past at least. Guess I gotta work with whatever's lying around." He looks around for whoever's the highest ranked soldiers well enough to properly instruct him.
"Woah, hey!" Tot... No, Jessica would pat herself down, as though confirming the outfit change. Her hair is longer now, going a little bit past her shoulders, though its still rather well kept and frosted pink at the ends. She wasn't going to get any of her usual acrobatics down while human like this, but at least the largely leather uniforms weren't cramping her style too much. She keeps a simple black choker, though the accessory is worn down and looks like its seen better days, its also a bit reassuring. In spite of losing most of what she's used to, Jessica Praise was also aware of having a power similar, in form if not in function, and that bit makes her grin. "Jessica Praise rockin' the house, hope I didn't keep ya waiting!" she announces to no one in particular, striking a quick pose before actually checking the map
Penny looked around with a bit of nostalgia and glee. It's been a bit long since she's been in this type of environment. It was what she was made for after all. Her laughs were giddy, and her eyes were kept on everyone else, albeit very absentmindedly. "Wow, this reminds Penny of her times with Daddy! It's so much fun to be here!" Despite the fact that there are actually some people that are dying on the floor, the little girl seems to take pride and joy in attending with everyone else. She hugged her teddy bear and took a look around the place with a happy smile on her face. "Hmmmm, the situation looks kinda bad. You." The girl pointed towards the man with a long hair and a moustache, and then back at the map with her free arm. It was only then that she noticed that her sleeve was a different color, because of the dirty green military jacket that now enveloped her which goes awful with her current fashion. The bear that was in her arms also seemed to rattle a little, as if it was moving sporadically even if it stood completely still. The necklace with the blue vial that was previously on the bear was being worn by Penny herself. "What enemies is Penny facing? Penny and Mr. Bear wants to make them go boom!"

As the weird shift of the worlds take place the small Punk feels a strange shift in states, for a temporary moment it feels like its entire state of being has changed but he could not point what...perhaps it was these weird limbs fleshy limbs that have hands and feet...no that can't be it and besides he can just conceal them with big grand robe he has cover all his body and face how convenient. "Now this...this is quite the tacky change of scene what mysteries follow such a adventure if this is indeed the past." The Spell Punk would take a few steps very awkwardly with its hands dangling motionlessly almost like it was in its old body as it tried to march around most near the large map area to get accustomed to this weird feeling and have a gander at the large "relic" as it would consider it.
[Prima would realize they are still at the Shinjuku Underground Mall, even if it seems extremely different now. Of course, the date and exact time is very clear: November 13th, 13:00 hrs. It is also important to note that in the map, the highlighted places were: Kichijouji, Destinyland, Shibuya, Ikebukuro, the Tokyo Tower, Yongen-Jaya, Akihabara and the entirety of Shinjuku was highlighted.] [Rowan was indeed missing his usual gear, and as he looks around he realizes that the man in front of them is actually the one with the highest ranking. Conveniently enough, he seemed like he was already preparing to instruct the entire group. Furthermore, he was able to find out by simply looking around that the "armory" was in a room to their right, and the infirmary was to their left; people were going in and out constantly.] [Tot, or rather, Jessica would not find out much more than Prima, but two usually do what just one can better. She would notice various numbers around the areas, like numbers of missing people, of confirmed casualties, and approximates on how many demons are in each area. The area with the most demons was Shinjuku, the area with the most casualties is Akihabara, and the area with the most missing people was Destinyland.] [Penny on her side would notice that Mr. Bear would in fact look a bit...bloody, and his mouth shifted into that of one open with fangs. It retained its color, but his tummy was now open, with some...skulls inside of it. The man would then look at Penny and raise an eyebrow, however, he did not make a single comment on her age.] You...should be aware they are demons. That's what you have on your arms, is it not? What was its name again...? "Bugsbear"? Maybe you should check that small computer of yours. [Spell Punk would indeed find it difficult to explore the HQ, as people are all walking around. He would notice many civilians, of all ages and sizes hurdled up together trying to calm down; some are crying, some have a blank, cold stare on their eyes, alive, but with blood stains on their clothes. Some were injured, there didn't seem to be a single happy person in the entire building, as at best, some were furious, or crying in a horriyingly gutural way about their children and friends. However, as he walked around, he realized the HQ had two exits, on on the west and another on the east. Every shop had been repurposed to serve as a place for soldiers and civilians to stay at; for food; and for special medical care.] [The Resistance Man, right after replying to Penny, would speak up once more.] As you know, our leader, Yuka parted towards Gotou's HQ alongside that friend of hers that can summon demons. And so far, we're getting calls from everywhere, from everyone...and so, we're putting all our efforts into helping with all we can, because there is no point in getting in the way of neither the American army, nor the SDF. Is this everyone? There are some tasks I would like to ask you to do...but...they won't be easy. Still, I believe you are all the best equipped to deal with them, given your abilities.
Jessica grins from ear to ear in anticipation of her first real mission in a while, even if its from these military rejects, and based on what she noticed on the map it seems like she might get to go to a fun place too, maybe she'll catch one of the still functional rides if she gets over to Destinyland. The young, punkish girl checks her pockets to see if she came with a piece of gum she can chew on to seem like more of an action hero as she asks the Resistance Man "Alrighty then, lay it on us chief. I trust you're not hopin' for us to run in empty handed, we'll need the deets, and of course whatever gear you've got ready before we head out."
Prima finished examining the map after she’d committed the noted locations to memory. While the man was speaking, she perked up at the mention of two certain people. “Yuka and Kazuya...” She muttered this to herself, although too quietly for anyone more than an arm’s reach away to hear. She nodded. “I’d be glad to help.”
Penny looks where her arm was, the one that was holding Mr. Bear...or rather, Mr. Bugbear as it is now. She seemed to have just noticed the change in Mr. Bear, and instead of being scared like most children are of the thing, was very ecstatic about her teddy bear's little transformation. "Penny likes this! Mr. Bear looks really cool! Can he make stuff go boom?" She looked back at the man when he mentioned a small phone, and decided to do what he had suggested and look it up on her little phone...don't ask where and how she got it. Well, the first question would usually to ask how slow does she type, but that's not too important. "Hmmm, so Mr. Bear...is now Mr. Bugbear? Penny was just getting used to Mr. Bear!" Upon hearing "Destinyland", Penny now feels obligated to go there, since it the name by itself would make Penny happy. She walked beside Jessica as Penny replied back to the Resistance Man. "That place sounds fun! Penny and Mr. Bugbear would love to go there!" The pink bear nodded it's head slowly, it's big blue button eyes seemingly staring into the man's soul. Of course, it still held itself in Penny's grip, not really bothering to let itself loose just yet.
The Spell Punk would look back and forth between the exit and the many...many people in anguish it dawns on him leaving a moment of displeasure. Though best not to dwell on it perhaps its why they were here in the first place he thought as he grouped up with the other to one Resistance Man "The Spirits call me here and now I answer. Seems a strong force as brought anguish how may I be of service in this counter endeavour." He stop himself and rethought his words for a moment. "No how way WE be of service to you my good sir."
[The man would then nod at everyone's resolve and...show some surprise at Penny's enthusiasm? It didn't matter, there was a job to be done and all he could do was to direct them to the most dangerous missions of the bunch.] Alright, since everyone's agreed I will now explain the things we need to sort out. [The man would get closer to the map and start by pointing at Kichijouji.] The father of our leader, Yuka, has been asking for help. He's running low on supplies and his patients still need help. We've been thinking about evacuating them, but the area is too full of demons to go through without any issue, furthermore, we've been receiving reports that there's some kind of...demon, a powerful one, lurking the area, not letting anyone get through. Then there's Destinyland, which, strangely, has been working all fine and well, despite everything going on. We've sent two other teams and not even a single person there has returned. We need someone to go there and learn what is going on...and comeback to let us now. Then, Tokyo Tower is currently under siege. Flying demons are attacking and both civilians and rescue teams are trapped inside. Furthermore, the structure seems to be in bad shape, so anyone with demon experience is good. Afterwards we have, Yongen-Jaya, that street is crawling with demons but apparently a group of people is still alive. We've been called by a man named Sojiro Sakura. He barely even sounded past his 20s, and according to him, they won't be able to hold on for much longer. He seems to have been able to notice there is some powerful demon commanding the weaker ones. Akihabara has been recently successfully evacuated, but a truck was attacked on its way out and some people stayed inside, so we're sending back a group of our men to get them back. This mission is important because some kids are involved in it, and although he's of high school age, it's still our failure which got them into all this mess. Besides, there may be even more people trapped. Then we got Shibuya, Americans and the SDF are close to fighting. We believe there most be a way to stop them, because if they fight now then the demons will be the last of our worries in the middle of an all-out war. However, I'm not sure of success in that one... Next, we have Ikebukuro, there is a rumor saying that a massive warehouse filled with supplies of all kind is in there and seems big enough to hold tons of people. If that is true then we could move everyone here there safely and abandon this place, why that's important is because... We're about to get attacked, or at least we believe so. Tons of demons have been slowly gathering around Shinjuku from all over the city, called upon by a strange horseman with a massive scythe on it. We know for a fact that they aren't going to attack anytime soon so it would be best if we took on these guys prepared...so if any of you actually succeeds, I would hope you comeback, if anything to get people out of here, or to defend them...somehow. [The man covers his face with his hand for a moment, stress being clear to everyone. Soon after, a mature woman with short hair walk in and tell the man something to his ear, then she would quickly walk out and the man would speak once more.] If any of you decide to go to Kichijouji we have another request. A girl of the name Ryoko Edogawa has been missing for a while and her mother is requesting any info, whatever. She says the last time she heard of her was from classmates seeing her go to the Inokashira park, so... At any rate, do what you find best. Once you've decided, gear up at the armory to my left, and to your right.
The Spell Punk would fiddle with its hand in the debriefing of sorts before taking it the weight of each task given. Each one seems to have a dire strain at hand and needed to be quickly dealt to cover ground. One task does catch it this punks interesting and makes a comment on it. “This Yongen-Jaya situation seems to have strange implications to it. A strong demon with the hierarchy to also command those below it. That would imply it’s a powerful influencer in this fight. And these people they could be important seeing as a strong commanding demon has entrenched himself in that territory.” The Spell Punk ponder for a moment on if this was the right call or something far to ambitious that the spirits could shield him from at all. But seeing as he’s always been cannon fodder for other perhaps the risk dog really matter all to much. “I believe recusing these folks will prove vital in perhaps in the intel department. Taking down the commander would also be ideal but ambitious and his forces would make this rescues mission for the goal all the more harder. Sir i’m willing to take on the task the spirts beckons it so it must be done though I could use any type of info or assistance if you will.” He gave a bow asking for clearance from the man. Though he could really use backup more so or anything as the approach would be treacherous.
“Hold it, so you’re sayin’ we have a fully functional amusement park still up, AND you want us to check it out? Rockin’!” Jessica Praise starts getting pumped, this would be the first time she’s been able to visit the place without sneaking in. Mind you it normally didn’t have demons running around, but if anything that’d make it more exciting. But for the sake of image she takes a deep breath and crosses her arms “I mean, yeah, I know the place pretty well and I’m good at knowing when to bail. I can get you the intel for sure, maybe even fix our little problem.” The Girl chuckles at Quintus and Raidou’s little squabble, amateurs to the last, but there’s no reason to be concerned for them. So the girl shakes her head, waving to the others as she heads for the armory herself. The girl would be looking for some kind of axe, preferably one with a similar size to her old guitar, it’s a bit of an old weapon type but effective if you’re looking to quickly strike one point. As for armor she was used to going without any, but that’s because it didn’t matter against her typical opponents, after all how’s a bulletproof vest going to help you against someone whose only ability is to overtune your senses until you fall unconscious? For now she’d look for something light, like a bulletproof vest. She’s hoping to get in the first hit, but it’s good to have some safety in case they bite back.
Prima bit her lip as she considered her options. There were many points of interest, but if they were all visited, the group would be spread too thin... so she’d have to choose something and stick with it. Ryoko and Sojiro were people she recognized, but Spell Punk had a point... plus, Raidou was clearly going to help the former. She bowed to Spell Punk. “If you need assistance, I’d be glad to help, sir. You shouldn’t risk confronting a powerful demon alone.”
"An amusement park? Penny always wanted to go to one of those, but Daddy was busy with other stuff to bother!" She gets excited and jumps up and down, being the little child that she is. Apparently her father didn't have the time to take her, which only adds to her excitement. Her Bugbear simply stays in the arm that holds it, going down whenever Penny jumps up and back up when her feet touch the ground. "Penny doesn't know what a demon is, but Mr. Bugbear will deal with them." She goes into the armory with Jessica, opting to look for a simple handgun since her dad and her sister taught her how to use it best. Afterwards, while she didn't really think she needed armor, Penny tried to look for something else, like a helmet, some gauntlets, or leggings.
"Alright, so, sounds like there are a lot of demons in this heehee-hawhaw place. Sounds like the perfect place to get some EXPERIENCE!" Rowan dashes barely on the ground, a light blur trailing behind him as he roams straight towards the armoury. Rapidly gazing over all the weapons, he decides to pick out the most lightweight and aggressive gear possible, as well as any viable assault rifle.
Whatever happens, please be careful. Surviving is the most important part of it all, to do anything reckless without being sure you can come out alive is unnecessary. It is true that we cannot save everybody, but we might as well try to protect what we have. [The Resistance Man would than walk towards his left, in front of a room called "Armory".] In here you'll find different types of body armor and weaponry we've managed to snatch from the Americans, Gotou's people and even some demons. It should be plenty for everyone here...besides, you will need it. You're the best of the best. [After saying this, the man would let them to their devices as he leaves the room and towards the larger halls, presumably among the many civilians and Resistance members. The armory is now free to use for the group.] [As such, and seeing as the armory is an entire store's worth in armor and weapons, they are able to find anything they see fit. Tot Pop is able to find among the myriad of items a two-handed axe on the style of Scandinavian Vikings, however, the blade of it seems to be a bit larger than usual. On the protection side, she is able to find a bulletproof vest that is extremely light, however, it is not of military grade, but more for the use of guards; black in color. Besides this she may be able to find a couple of tactical gloves for better grip, protection glasses, boots, etc.] [For Penny, the handgun selection was vast; Berettas 92F, New Nambus, Magnum Pythons and one old fashioned, old west-looking revolver. Just like everyone before her, she is able to find a pair of gloves for better grip; black, shin guards, and a military helmet complete with goggles.] [As Rowan looks for aggressive gear, he would find a simple assault vest with a considerable amount of pouches, complete with shoulder and neck protection. He would also find the usual gloves, shin guards, boots and helmets. Oh the assault rifle department, he is able to find nothing but M16s.]
With her choice of mission set, Prima chuckled and followed Rowan into the armory. She took her time in choosing what to get, as she already had a weapon. In the end, she settled on a lightweight bulletproof vest similar to what Tot found, as well as any helmet - she wasn’t really picky on which. Admittedly, she wasn’t knowledgeable about human armor, but this would offer protection while still freeing up movement.
Tot gladly takes the axe, testing it’s weight in her hands. It’s a bit heavier than she’s used to top end, but she figures that’s probably a good thing and as long as she’s here nothing’ll feel as good as her old guitar, so she’ll work with it. Next she takes some gloves and boots, they fit her style well enough and are practical too now that she’s going to start getting fatigued again, but decides to forgo any of the headgear, mostly for aesthetic reasons. Once she’s all suited up with the vest and all, she’d check on Penny, her partner in crime, to see how she’s holding up before laying down some ground rules. “Alright kid, nice to see we’ll be workin’ together. I’ve worked with quite a few rookies before, so just keep it cool and follow my lead and we’ll get out just fine.” Tot gives Penny a flashy grin while making sure the other kid has everything. Of course, once everything’s set we’d be good to head out to Destinyland
The Hooded one would follow Prima and Rowan in tow into the armoury and observe as they geared up. The armour sets and sleek weapons caught his momentary attentions but brushed it off, unfortunately it seemed none of the armour or weapons were anywhere suited for his stature or style of combat so he rather not dabble in such. “My magic and hooded cloak should suffice. Just make it quick those demons won’t be waiting on us...” He’d step a few step outside the armoury and waited for both Prima and Rowan to finish. He would try a bit of meditating before they set off perhaps hoping for blessings of good fortune from the higher spirits.
As Penny walks into the armory, she immediately feels compelled to look at all the guns with excitement, automatically name all of them as she passes by as if she already knew them all. She felt most attracted towards the old fashioned, western gun, seeing as there's only one of them, and takes it with glee. The little girl looks over to Tot once she picks up the gun. "Oh, hi! Tee-hee! Penny didn't see you there!" She turns back and reluctantly picks up the armor. Her older sister had always nagged her about her fashion, and this was absolutely going against it. She almost felt obliged to not take it, but her Bugbear nudged her towards it. Penny pouted out, but eventually put on the gloves, shin guards, and put on the helmet, letting the flower that rested on her head rest onto the helmet instead. "Penny's ready! Mr. Bugbear can't wait to make stuff go boom!"
He dressed himself in the standard armor, slinging the M16 across his chest and marching straight for the nearest exit. "Alright, boys, it's juice and jam time!"
(edited by Rowan)
“Juice and... jam time? Are we getting lunch on the way?” A confused Prima followed Rowan. She nodded to Spell Punk on her way out. “It appears we’re ready. May Arceus bring us luck... we’ll need it.”
[As they make their way outside, they may be able to recognize this place. They spent a good portion of their time in this area in the past, exploring and trying to find anything useful. It used to be filled with scared bewildered people, but now, all they see is injured people; scared, in despair, not even the kids, who are unable to process exactly what is going on, have much light inside of their eyes. Soldiers sit against the wall, sobbing. Mothers cry out names as they walk aimlessly. Fathers seem to be on the verge of puking. Brothers and sisters close together, hoping to not be separated as well. It's the wake of Armageddon.] [This group prepares to head out. It should be important to note that there are only two exits, the West exit, and the East exit. Their corresponding destinations are Yongen-Jaya, South from Shinjuku and relatively close compared to everywhere else, and then Destinyland, far away, at the other side of the city going straight from Shinjuku, through the center of the city, at the West end of it near the sea. It is one thing to try and take a dangerous mission...and another to even reach that place. Whatever happens, survive.]
“...Let’s hurry. We should get there quickly if we move fast enough.” The sights around were almost too much for her. Prima gestured for the two to keep moving, and started on the path to Yongen-Jaya. She was relying on her memories of the modern city and the map to find her way, although she suspected roadblocks would come, knowing their luck.
The Spell Punk would snap out and follow the other two down the path. He would keep his eyes sharp scanning the area as they move forth. "I don't know all my way around such a place so i'll just be keeping my eyes and senses peel. When we get close remind us cause we should start to lay low and not catch any unwanted attention."
“Hey hey, don’t mean to be a downer but try to be a little quieter. If you go off on everything we see it’ll be a lot more trouble.” At this point she’s almost regretting being paired up with the kid, but as long as Penny can keep it together there shouldn’t be too much of an issue. It wouldn’t be long before Tot’s usual cheerful smile was back and she gestures for Penny to follow her through the west entrance, since their destination was towards the far west “Now come on, we’ve got a party to catch.”
"But, Penny thought wars were supposed to be loud...wait, this is different isn't it?" While Penny's scratching her head trying to figure out what Tot is trying to say, Mr. Bear just shakes it's head slowly slowly while it rests in her free arm. After a few seconds she sighs out, finally getting what being a little quieter means. "Hmmm, you remind Penny of Tabitha..." She looked up and now realized that she actually took a bit long to process it, now seeing Tot where the west entrance was. While her short legs were walking casually towards their destination, Mr. Bear actually tugged Penny to where they were supposed to go, forcing her to run instead of walk in order to keep up with him and not fall. "Penny's coming! Don't worry!"
[On to the West side, what awaits the Destinyland Pair is a long, long way. It's interesting to note that on this side, scattered military uniforms are easy to find, and so are civilian clothes. Of course, they would not be able to find anything of value so close to the HQ, as everything has probably been scavenged already. Regardless, the sky maintains a strange red tint, looking like a warzone. Claw markings on the street, bullet cases and rifle magazines are scattered; there must have been a fight recently. They are also able to hear a distinct neigh from somewhere, not to mention, some very loud cackling from a source that did not seem to have lips or a tongue. If they remember the map, they will know that up ahead, a few kilometers from their position, is the Imperial Palace and it's vast, gigantic garden. In their immediate sight, however, they would find a clear street. Everything is silent; not even cars are in their way,]
"Man I wish I could call this a ware, that'd be pretty cool. This is more of a.... You watched any of those old spy movies? Its more like one of those missions" Tot Pop would chatter cheerfully with Penny as they went along the empty streets. They're not far from HQ yet so if some kind of disaster happened they'd pretty much be safe. Though Tot isn't Japanese, she'd have lived here long enough to recognize major landmarks like the Palace. However, the palace isn't their destination, and big, flashy places like that probably attract unwanted attention, so she'd take hold of Penny's hand to guide the younger girl as she keeps talking "There are only two... Er, three of us." Tot corrects herself to include Penny's bear "Instead of a whole army, so we've gotta lay low until we find one. That's when the real fun stuff happens." while the pair continues talking, Tot would try to guide Penny to a side street to go around the palace, they're not here to meet whoever took over the place, so it'd be worth taking a detour if they can.
Of course, the mention of old spy movies also has Penny just drawing a blank, not being able to figure out what those are. "Somebody snuck onto one of Daddy's planes and almost made it crash. Does that go with what Penny is doing right now?" Her voice was a little bit more quiet, though only a little bit. Now she's just not shouting all the time anymore. Of course, the bear with her follows Penny, resting in her arm as she hugs him. It nods slowly at Tot when she corrects herself, as if to show approval. "Penny misses playing with her toys. It was fun to watch stuff go boom. Mr. Bugbear will let Penny have fun though, right?" As if to answer her question, the teddy bear nods slowly once more, staring at Tot with it's big blue button eyes. Penny follows along with Tot in order not to get lost, but also struggles a bit in actually keeping her attention on the mission. Her bear incessantly has to force her not to go where the big flashy places are and keep following Tot.
(edited by Penny)
[Tot decides they should actually avoid the Imperial Palace. As the pair of girls walk around the impressive trees and flowers, they can see something happening inside. The elderly emperor and his wife, perhaps their guards and their children are all being taken to the backyard forcefully as they scream and plea. The terrible creatures are red in color and wearing dark blue clothes; Oni, demons of the Brute race. They quickly move to execute the unfortunate "heavenly family" with their massive weapons, even counting how far each head rolls. After they are all gone, one Oni raises its muscular arms in victory, it would seem that the head of their 13-year-old son had rolled the furthest away. Luckily, the pair had not been yet noticed by the Brutes. To their right, the Oni. Ahead of them, more streets...but they seem to be vibrating a bit, like something is walking closer, and closer. To their left, a tilted building, resting on the side of another fragile looking one.]
[Finally, the Yongen-Jaya crew heads out into the wilderness to save the people of that unfortunate street. Heading down south, they would first notice strange energy emanating at the distance, and the faraway neighing of a horse; quiet cackling. The day is clear and there are no clouds in the sky. Even though it should be blue, an eerie red shade covers everything above. Building are in complete ruins, cracking, broken windows, card in flames, and blood spluttered. They may be able to catch some flying demons going nowhere, the corpses of Oni, melting Jack Frosts, wingless Pixies. If they look hard enough, they may be able to notice half eaten human body parts. So far, nothing too bad has appeared on their tracks. The road is mostly just a bunch of rubble and abandoned cars getting in the way. On top of them, the train tracks seem to be standing just fine but, as one would expect, the trains are all out of service; they hear nothing. At the side of the street, at least one four stories building is open. Ahead of them, the streets are getting harder to get through, so while that may slow them down, it won't really stop them.]
"A strange horseman..." Prima repeated the words of the man from earlier. Was... whatever was ahead that thing? She shook her head. No, the noise must have been a horse demon or something like that. This reasoning with herself did nothing to ease the tension, though. Everything here was completely and utterly off. After squeezing around yet another car, she spoke quietly to the others. "I think we're getting close. Let us keep attention to ourselves to a minimum."
Tot raises an eyebrow at Penny, sounds like her dad's pretty messed up, but then again who doesn't come from some kinda broken/freaky family nowadays. The girl simply shrugs "Yeah, probably. We're gonna bide our time until we can make a really big boom, but you'll have to be good until then, or all three of us will be in trouble." again, going out of her way to mention the bear since they both seemed to like that. Tot keeps a fair distance away from the Palace, making sure to keep a firm grip on Penny's hand so the kid doesn't run off, when she hears the sounds like screaming. Tot silently curses to herself as she tries to ignore it. However, Tot doesn't manage to tear her eyes from the scene, shuddering silently instead. Teach had always said to remain observant and thinking, in any situation, so in part as a distraction, she tries to differentiate the Oni. While she would likely notice many minor details, the importan thing was that none of these seemingly tribal... Creatures, had any major and obvious markings to denote leadership. Which means their commander probably wasn't there. "Just... Try not to mind it too much, come on." thinking the creatures are likely to move elsewhere pretty soon, Tot would try to lead Penny to hide in the tilted building until the demons moved on, and hopefully see if they can find anything while they're in there.
It would node in approval on Prima's words and slip close around the cars before peeking its head above momentarily staying high on alert. "Quite agree Madam we must be approaching a dangerous stronghold soon enough...as for that horse if I can even call it...I recommend to stick near the cars for cover don't find yourself expose in an open area, I get the feeling this cover will be good for our safety." The Spell Punk would trail along right behind keeping tabs on both of its allies but also keeping itself in check
(edited by Spell_Punk)
Penny simply tilts her head in response, not really getting at what she says until she hears the word "boom". Which actually makes Penny ecstatic, but instead of letting it out, she just keeps it to herself. She has to be good after all. "Fine by Penny. Mr. Bugbear says that they appreciate you including him." As the little girl follows Tot, pouting a bit due to not being able to explore freely with Tot keeping a firm hold on her hand and also her teddy bear pushing her forward where Tot goes. Though, her teddy bear nudges her to make her look where the family was being executed by the Oni demons. Once she sees the whole murder scene occur when they go through the forest, Penny's eyes light up once more as she tries to get closer to watch. "wh-" Before she could say anything however, the bear shoves her backwards, and then pushes her away from the scene, forcing her not to say anything as she passes by. The girl gets into the tilted building, looking back at her bear. "Tee-hee, that was so fun. Mr. Bugbear thinks so too. Penny wanted to see it all though, phooey." Her voice was quiet, she crossed her arms and huffed, turning her head away. The teddy bear nods, and then goes on to scavenge around the building with Tot in order to try and find something.
[The streets keep vibrating, and even the building seems to cower at the power of the incoming footsteps. After a couple of minutes, it goes away. Whatever it was that was outside scouting the streets was bound to be massive and slow. They are now inside of the main hall of what seemed to be a hotel that had seen better days; there are some suitcases abandoned, with not much around. There are some first aids spray lying though, three of them to be exact, useful to treat recent injuries. Looking inside of the building itself, they are able to tell that the apparent main pillars of it are busted and quickly collapsing, which means that the structure won't hold on for too much time, and that is bound to make some noise and an ample mess. But, since they've been inside of the building for quite a while, they also hear the sound of moaning, although miniscule, almost as if the voice was coming from a child...or something close to it. In the dark of the close-by emergency stairway, there seems to be a faint light, like that of a lamp.]
Rowan catches off to the rest of his group, stuffing the last remnants of a hogey in his mouth and licking his fingers. "Apologies, fellas, I seemed to have lost sight of you guys for a bit. Now, let's get down to business, where's the target practice?" He gives off a large smirk, holding his gun in the air and fiddling it around a little. In addition, he neglects Spell Punk's advice to take cover and starts running out wide in the open, guns blazing.
Upon seeing the suitcases, the teddy bear brings some of them towards Penny, along with a single med spray in case she needed. Penny giggles as she scooped up the teddy bear with a hug, the bear not reacting in the slightest as she looked at him. "Thank you Mr. Bugbear. Penny is glad to have this stuff." Penny immediately got to checking what was inside the suitcases. But as soon as she heard the slightest sound as soon as it reached her ear, her legs jolted upwards and made her standing immediately, the barrel of her revolver spinning in preperation that something actually came. "An enemy?...Hmmm..." Her reflexes were shown to be good at least, but it was only for naught. Probably. She sighed out, and gazed towards wherever Tot was. Her gun pointed towards the staircase as she gestured her to check it with her. "Penny doesn't want to go there alone. Can you help Penny and Mr. Bugbear?"
Tot would quickly go around the lower floor, grabbing the other two first aid sprays, not needed yet but its better to be safe than sorry. She'd also check all the suitcases for any leftover gum they might have, not that many people packed gum, but you never know. After a quick scan and noting the big creature had left a while back, Tot was ready to move on, when Penny seemed to notice something "Yeah? I got ya kid. We can't take too long though." Tot would keep one hand on her axe as she nods to Penny before approaching the stairway. Hopefully Penny wouldn't end up shooting her by accident as Tot takes notice of the strange light "That what you were talking about? Who's there? We won't bite as long as you're cool."
[Prima and Punk decide it would be the best course of action to hide and keep on moving. The neighing they originally heard was quite different to the one they can listen to now, as this one is weaker and agonizing. Something inside of them made it clear that these two noises were from quite different origin points. Regardless, moving among the cars proves to be a challenge for them, not because they were too big but because in some cases, they were pilled against, and on top each other. They are right; however, they are closing in towards the weak neighing, and the sound of people yelling loudly; gunshots and metal hitting flesh. Moving further ahead, they see a humanoid creature wearing a white tunic...with the head of a horse, colored green. It seems to be calling for help in a strange language no one with experience with demons will be able to understand. Of course, it's alive...or at least it used to be, as Rowan immediately moves in, guns blazing as one would say. The demon quickly dies without doing much else. Soon after, red energy would leave the dead demon's body and... nothing. Nothing had happened, no demon was rushing in to face them. All that remains is the entrance to the smaller street to their left. They had reached Yongen-Jaya, and strangely, they were unable to hear anyone else fighting anymore. It was all absolutely quiet.] ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [Tot actually does find some gum among the suitcases, as it turns out, some people just can't get over the sweet taste of gum whenever they feel anxious. Tot then calls out to the small lamp light inside, and it seems to ignite once more, but...weakly. They do hear something, however, a faint "Ho". Whoever is inside, they cannot say anything louder. Soon, a small rock falls from the top of one of the main pillars of the building.]
Now armed with a packet of Gum, Tot would go to town, gladly popping a piece in as she turns back to Penny "Whatever it is, it seems like its hurt. They're not a threat if you wanna look closer." Tot would begin chewing as she approaches the emergency staircase, with the building starting to collapse Tot would break into, not quite a run, but at least a jog as she approached the lamp "Alright, come on, lets see the problem. Doesn't sound like we have too much longer here."
Prima blinked. Then blinked again. "I... can't believe that actually worked. I'd be more mad at you if it were not for the current situation. While I am glad your reckless actions did not cause us any trouble, I am far more concerned about the lack of problems." She drew the Tundra Seal and pointed it at the entrance. "I assume you want to take the lead as you... tactfully did earlier? Go forth, but I shall watch our backs." She'd then step forward, lagging behind to make sure no enemy was following. While at least Rowan would be watching their front, Prima would be scanning everywhere else for danger.
"Ah, alright. Demon Deathing Squad, roll out!" Rowan speedily marches towards the streets, swiveling any light his gear would have around to check for any demons hiding. "So, who wants to die today?"
While Penny actually felt a bit suspicious, she nodded at Tot, giggling a bit as she put her revolver away. "Penny thinks that too. As Daddy told me, if they're a broken toy, they might be able to be fixed." The little girl gestures at the teddy bear to come over where they were, the bear tilting it's head sideways before eventually coming in once it saw the building start to deteriorate. Of course, Penny wouldn't keep this out of her mind, but right now, something else is happening. "Penny's here. Anything broken? Gone boom?" She asks the question to whatever was hurt in a childlike manner, both to give it the impression that she means no harm and that she'd probably be willing to play. If anything were to happen, the teddy bear was right behind her, staring blankly at where Penny was with it's big blue button eyes.
"Oh how brash of you could have at least heed my warnings...but lets not dwell on it you did your job lets move on." Slipping in to join the others in the middle of the fact, since both Prima and Rowan were focusing on keeping their eyes on the lookout the small Punk would focus on channeling on his energy encase a emergency spell was in need. "Not really keen on dying. Infact lets just keep it low ok I rather we actually make it to our destination and not die from a reckless plan sound good." He shoves Rowan to get his attention and get the point across clearly bothered it but leaves it just at that even if he decides to ignore him. "Now then how close are we to our destination. Can't help but feel were closing in on it cause the lack of demons is quite unnerving in itself doesn't help my nagging curiosity."
You are an arrogant one, child. [Rowan was the first to walk in, and so, the first to hear the voice of a very creepy, almost decrepit old man, Punk being the second one. They also assume it's coming from an old man. It was coming from somewhere they can't exactly pin point. Prima was in luck, as no demon figured it was a good idea to follow inside.] Your fate lies beyond this corner, you simply are to make a right at the end of the street. The human corpses shall be your guide. [The sound of bones hitting against each other was obvious. The street itself was long with only three deviations. First one to the right lead to nowhere in particular, but if one were to try and find the origin of this voice, then it would be from somewhere around there. Next, there is another street to the left; a woman lies there with her skin completely dried up, lifeless. At the end of the street, there is sharp turn to the right. As the voice said, the corpses were piling up, but it was unclear what exactly were those. If they belonged to humans or something else that barely looked like one.] ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [As both girls approach, the lamp would light up again, revealing a pumpkin with carved eyes, mouth, and a wide, pointy hat to match. Under it, a dark blue robe and a... floating white globe? Holding the flickering lamp.] I'm...hurt, ho. Help me, ple-heese, ho. My name is Pyro Jack. I was attacked by no-good Oni bullies, ho... [The light inside of Pyro Jack's lantern is getting weaker by the second, and so, two rocks fall off the pillar.] I will be your minion, ho... if you save me...
Rowan rolls his eyes and shouts im the general direction of the voice "Well, excuse me for trying to have some FUN!" He then blinks for a couple of seconds and then turns to Spell Punk, glaring at him. "Hey, why don't you lead for a while, genius?" He looks for a nearby lamp post and leans on it until Spell Punk responds.
“I’m not sure this is a good idea... is there any other path...?” Prima muttered to herself. A glance down the first path revealed nothing of interest, and it was clear that the second path... well, it had that woman. Prima hesitated, then, ignoring the voice’s directions, headed down the left street for a quick look, although was prepared to dash back out at the sound of any kind of commotion.
Penny giggled a bit, nodding back to her teddy bear to let him know that it's alright, and immediately went and used her own first aid spray on the Pyro Jack in an attempt to heal it. "Aw, don't worry. Penny has it covered." She looked back towards Tot, standing next to the Pyro Jack as she spoke out. Her tone of voice being extremely similar to a child wanting to keep a stray cat it found on a sidewalk. "Can Penny keep them? Pleaaasseee? Penny and Mr. Bugbear promise to take good care of them." The teddy bear tilted it's head to the side as it examined the Pyro Jack, probably trying to assert dominance, but still showing friendliness since it isn't actually hurting it.
For her own part Tot stands back and chuckles before patting Penny on the head and talking to both her and Pyro “Yeah, we saw into those Oni bullies earlier, pretty nasty customers. Looks like Penny’s already decided.” With the Jack takes care of Tot would look back towards the still crumbling pillar, she keeps a casual grin but speaks more urgently “We’ll take you along, can you move yet? If not I can carry you, place’ll fall apart any second, time to beat it.” Tot would Once again take Penny’s hand and, if necessary, sling Pyro Jack across her back to hurry towards the entrance and back out into the streets. Hopefully the large creature hadn’t swung by again, and they could continue their long trek
It moved a bit ahead of Rowan by his request and start evaluating. "Very well then if you want me to be our shielding helm very well then. I would say following the body of corpses would be a interesting trail to foll-" It lose its train of thoughts as Prima made a detour to one of the left streets and was visibly confused as well as it followed. "I guess were taking a pit stop to see what's down here instead." It sighed and silently moved to the corner of the left street and popped its head around the corner almost preparing for something and being fully ready to book it there and then.
[Prima and Punk would not find much, or get much from their investigation, other than a clearer detail of what happened to the woman who died in such terrible conditions. She was sitting against the wall in a position similar to a monk meditating. It was clear that she had been crying, the tears remaining still falling to the ground. However, she skin's state make it seem like she had died months ago. Looking more around the street would make some other peculiar things come to light. Different ceremonial items and tool were all scattered around, and fleeting will-o-wisps are surrounding the area, lamenting. They all keep saying "Daisoujou", "Help me", "Who am I".] ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [As soon as the first aids spray makes contact with the injured Pyro Jack, his wounds are healed immediately, almost as if the energy was amplified by his own inherent magic. The cute demon would quickly re-ignite his lamp and illuminate the entire dark place, revealing scorched remnants of Oni.] Thank you, hee-ho! I'm forever in debt with you! My name is Pyro Jack, ho! I will accompany you as thanks forever so take care of m-hee! [Penny's computer would then quickly light up and absorb Pyro Jack as he turns into a bunch of pixels. The screen would then list, from top to bottom, Bugsbear and Pyro Jack. It also has other information like a piece of text saying, "Summoned 1/3" and "In Storage 2/6". Checking Pyro Jack's status would reveal also that he can Absorb Fire, but is Weak to Ice. On skills, it says he has Agi, Maragi and Tarunda. Soon after, the building would make a deep, strange noise as 8 other pieces fall off the pillar.]
"Nice, got a little..... OH." Tot would stare at what's left of the Oni for a bit, that was directly next to this small, friendly creature in a dark staircase... He didn't look that harmful, but if it can do that much to one of those brutes... Tot chooses to believe the Onis are actually pretty weak. With the building creaking and about to go, Tot would give Penny a chance to... Handle what just happened on her own before reminding the girl "Alright, show time. If we're lucky maybe we'll make a few more friends on the way. For now we better bail." And by bail she of course meant, get out of the building. Tot would make sure Penny's following her as she gets back out the hotel's front entrance and on their way before the whole place collapses
“These are... spirits?” The Will-o-wisps reminded her of a gastly. Sinister ghosts from horror stories back home. But with these, it was more depressing than horrifying. A tragedy more than a tale of fear. She took a deep breath, spun on her heel, and nodded to her companions. “We can’t turn back. I am ready, but are you?”
"Wow, that's pretty cool. Penny likes." Seemingly, the little girl didn't really react to what came in wake of the little creature that she just recruited in her ranks, but inside, she was actually even more excited that she chose to let the Pyro Jack stay with them. "Tee-hee, Penny has a new friend! Let's go now." This time however, it's Penny who grabs Tot by the arm and runs out the building, when it's usually the other way around. While the grip may not have been too strong, the little girl actually ran pretty fast. Of course, the bear was faster than her so naturally, it'd probably be out of the building first.
The Spell Punk would eye the corpse and then the ceremonial objects, for a moment greed in such wonderful artifacts clouded its mind as it crept a few step towards these objects but then snapped out realizing what he was even here for. “Huh? Right right we should carry forth again, albeit hesitant the spirts have put as much investment into this as I do...let’s keep moving forward preferably down that road of bodies..” He would signal for both to move down the next the direction the voice originally told them to go through. He would signal for Rowan to also catch up and follow in tow as three’s a crowd a good crowd.
[With Pyro Jack recruited and the hotel abandoned, the pair head out and continue their way towards Destinyland. A look around would reveal the streets with some massive footprints, just one of them was bigger than Tot. Luckily, whatever made it was gone, and so were the Oni. Their way was mostly clear. The road ahead of them would lead to a big bridge that would take them finally to the first third of their journey. Eventually, the building would fall at the distance and the cries of a dozen demons was crystal clear. In front of them was the Eitai Bridge; nothing too amazing but the issue with it is that it was heavily damaged. It was bending at the middle, and it had a massive whole on the bigger part; signs of a past battle. It was possible that it could fall at any minute. It would seem that this was becoming the norm for their adventure, so either the situation was getting worse for every minute that passed, or they simply chose badly.]
Tot would be a little surprised at Penny’s enthusiasm, but smiles with the girl as the pair run outside “Least now we’re gettin’ in the mood a bit. Hopefully not gonna be too much further.” It was in fact, too much further. Tot would look at the oversized footprints as they went by, doing her best to keep her voice low as she comments “Man, that thing looks totally wicked. Hope we don’t meet it.” She grins when she hears the shouts after the building collapses, the more demons run over there the fewer we’ll have to deal with after all, only to soon come upon the damaged bridge. Tot taps her foot for a bit before asking “Think we should find another way? We’re not too heavy so it probably won’t break when we cross, but it’d be good to have an out. Especially if that huge one crashes the party.”
"But before we confront the boss..." Prima turned around again, this time to face the Will-o-wisps. She took a few steps forward and gave them a respectful bow. "Pardon me, but if you can hear me, is there any way we can help you? Do you know what happened here?" She wasn't expecting a very coherent answer, but it might give them some info on what the group would be facing.
Penny turns behind her to look at the Building collapse and hears the demons screaming out. Her eyes lit up once again as she giggled happily, holding onto her teddy bear. “Tee-hee. They went boom.” When she looks at the bridge, she pouts and starts to complain a bit, though her voice level was still kept to a minimum. “This is where big sis Tabitha would just fly across with a plane. But I don’t think I can do that here, phooey.” She looks back at Tot, nodding in agreement. While she would usually be happy to take risks, it was mostly because of what she could’ve been able to do instead of what she can do now. “Penny thinks that’s a good idea. Mr. Bugbear does too. Where are we going to go though?” The bear nods, and turns it’s head to try and find an alternative way for Penny since she’s too busy thinking to do anything.
“Well then, that settles it, there’s gotta be more than one bridge, so let’s get rolling!” Tot would try to remember if she saw another fairly close bridge on the map before they left. If only she’d brought one with her routing might have been easier, but if not she’d simply try to lead the pair south for a while in hopes of finding one.
[Under the bridge and around it is nothing but the water that forms the Sumida river. This structure, the Eitai Bridge, is around the same level as the water and so, falling is not much of an issue... unless something is lurking under the water, furthermore, going through here will take them through the city. To the South, they will see that just water awaits, as the Sumida river connects to the sea, and although there is a smaller island close-by with bridges connecting to it, you can tell it won't lead to Destinyland. Meanwhile, the North reveals another bridge that is a bit taller than this one, but also bigger. It is the Great Sumida Bridge, that is part of a massive highway that connects the entire city, but also may lead towards their destination while avoiding the city.]
Tot looks down south, while the island is neat and probably relatively space, they’re here on a mission, and the island isn’t it so south it out of the question. Which leaves the north path, it’s a large and fully functional bridge, probably occupied by something or another, but with their only other path likely to collapse before leading them back, they’re likely to have to deal with whatever’s lurking on the larger bridge anyways. Tot would brush some of her hair to the side, spitting out an old piece of gum before popping in a second and offering a third to Penny “Want some kid? Looks like we might have to crash a party pretty soon, make sure you’re ready, and stay behind me, cool?” Tot looks to Penny for confirmation before heading over to the larger bridge along the river, there’s not much cover here along the riverbank but it’s also harder to get lost that way
Rowan glanced back at Prima, furrowing an eyebrow at their attempt to converse with demons. "Ah, yes, I too enjoy conversing with embers on the street when there's a whole battlefield just around the corner. You do you, I guess." He continues on ahead of the seal, sighing heavily and following the Spell Punk down the road of corpses
"I am but remnants of my old self. I barely remember my name or who I was once in life." [The will-o-wisp says.] "But beware, Daisoujou is close, he will not stop until all of our homes and its people are turned into spirits, like the family I vaguely remember. He calls it salvation, and our bodies... the souls he takes, they turn against the living." [The ghostly embers float away, trying to remain close to its brethren.] "Get out of Tokyo, we're all but finished..." [Rowan and Punk would instead miss out on the information Prima received, as they were already ahead and walking towards the end of the street. The bodies they would find were various. They were for the most part certainly human, but they were missing eyeballs, body parts, they would even have their entire torso open, but missing all organs. Their skin, too, was in decomposition. Other bodies included the barely humanoid demons, Preta, and the more monstrous Ghouls. At the end of this brutal aftermath, a group of men can be seen sitting against the walls while catching their breath. Some of them were checking if the demon that had presumably just killed were really gone.]
Penny smiles at Tot when offered the gum, gladly taking it and ripping the stick in half. She immediately puts the first stick in her mouth, and tries offering the teddy bear some. Since it didn’t get it as soon as she put it near him, she just added on with the half stick that she got earlier. “Fine by Penny. No problems here, tee-hee.” The girl picks up her gun and spins the barrel of the revolver playfully, listening to the sound it makes. The bear nudges her forward and Penny now follows Tot in relatively quiet manner with her gun in hand.
“Daisoujou... I’ll remember that name. Thank you.” With the spirit’s words still echoing in her mind, Prima ran to catch up with the others. She kept her gaze on the path directly in front of her until she eventually reached them. She let out a small gasp when she saw the humans. So not everyone was dead... right? She tightened her grip on her weapon. “Excuse me! You, over there! What happened here?” She didn’t dare get too close, so she raised her voice so the men could hear clearly fron a distance.
[Their way towards the bridge was a quiet, uneventful one. At times they would see unknown flying creatures high above, making their way towards the centermost parts of the city, as if called by something or someone. And strangely enough, other flying, humanoid creatures would slowly get away from there. Most were using pieces of armor, some were female, blonde and with black leather around their bodies. At times, they were blue, translucid creatures. Regardless, they would reach the Great Sumida Bridge, and ahead of them laid a very clear-cut road. To their sides, nothing, as it was all covered by very high walls. Some cars were left there abandoned but in comparison to the rest of the city, this area was mostly barren.]
Tot would look up to the sky, there were quite a few of these demons, though hopefully none of them noticed her and Penny, or at least none of them cared. As they carried Along, Tot would go head and try to strike up some casual conversation with Penny, more to fill the air than anything else "So you mentioned your sister earlier, Tabitha right? You two get along well or what? I'm actually an only child so I dunno much about siblings. Like to think of my crew members as family though." Once the pair finally make it to the bridge, Tot would let out a bit of a relieved sigh, it seemed pretty empty for now, hopefully a sign for what was on the other side of it too. For now she'd stick near the wall, so as to be a bit less noticable as she crosses the bridge "Not as bad as I thought it'd be. Guess they've all moved on. Probably for that army thing or whatever boss man mentioned."
Seeing the sight of some other men was either relieving or alarming given their behaviour. Prima's call to them doesn't really help but causes the Punk to jump and step back a bit. "Shouldn't you have waited before calling out to th- you know what why do I even bother after the fact...Yes you there! Are you in need of perhaps some sheltering or safety?" It would awkwardly wave its arm in the air and step back a bit more. It would briefly try to hone in and prepare itself to cast a spell incase this group was less then friendly.
Rowan also shouts in synchronization with the others, sounding more monotone than them. "Yo, where the demons at?" He patrols around to the sides a little, surveying the area as well as swiveling his gun around the various corners, investigating the darkest area and alleyways more intently
Like Tot, Penny would look up at the sky, mesmerized by all the demons that traveled through the air above them. Though her demon-watching was cut short when Tot tries to make converstation with the little girl. "Tabitha's pretty fun. She makes stuff go boom. She taught Penny a lot of stuff. Penny has another sister. Isabella? Penny forgot." When they arrive at the bridge, Penny almost went and walked in the center, but her teddy bear made her follow Tot and stick along the walls to be more conspicious. "Alright, Penny will be sneaky. Tee-hee."
[A man with slick, wavy hair and a pair of aviator sun glasses would raise his head and look at the group getting closer. He immediately knew who were this group of people that, one, were crazy enough to be outside with what's currently happening and two, were so crazy prepared with gear.] I take it you're the guys...and girl part of the Resistance, right? My name is Sakura, Sojiro. And here with my friends we've been simply trying to survive, but the monsters just keep on coming. [He would grimace as he turned to face one of the corpses closer to him.] Whatever is doing this just keeps reviving them, our friends, my neighbors. Each time it's more and more, I don't even think we can survive another horde. [The man sits down once more.] Is the base you guys have any better? I don't want to leave this place crawling with these... abominations. But unless we somehow get rid of their leader, that ain't happening. [Rowan would look for the demon that may be hiding, and he finds nothing physical. However, he is able to feel a somewhat oppressive aura inside one of the alleys. It beckons him, asking if he would want to stay there and face whatever it is that hides among the bodies. The rattling of bones can be heard. And at the same time, random bodies from all around the area start to move an stand up. Sojiro and his other companions sigh in an almost defeated tone.] For how long...? ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [The "Angels" are able to completely abandon the city and disappear into the distance as the pair are able to tell. Where are they going, they do not know. More importantly, the usage of this highway makes their journey significantly easier, as they face next no opposition. No obstacles, no nothing. In fact, it should be noted that there's a somehow low noise somewhere. It's coming from all around, in fact, it follows some kind of rhythm, like a melody. Eventually, they would come to find that the highway ends in the middle of another one that lead to both the East and West. At the far-off East they may be able to notice a faint, eerie shadow covering the never stopping Ferris wheel, small dots seemed to be circling it, flying all around the amusement park. Meanwhile to the West, a highway that may very easily lead back to HQ. There was always the option to go back. The rhythmical white noise grows louder, changing into a melody of high frequency sounds going in and out.
Tot finds herself subconsciously tapping her foot to the unknown rhythm, the girl was still a rocker at heart, though she doesn't know what it is, she keeps up with it well enough. Of course, they hadn't gotten close to completing their mission yet, so Tot'd crack a grin and start walkin' "Huh, then sure, if you'd like you can think of me like Tabitha. Partners in crime and all that." Tot would hold her clenched hand out for a fist bump, if Penny even knows what that is, before continuing to the east towards Destinyland. "You catchin' those beats or is it just me? Bit too techno for my liking, but hey, never knew demons could rock it."
The teddy bear spun around and swayed in response to the rhythm, while Penny just skipped around unironically matching the rhythm to a tea. However, when asked about it, both Penny and Mr. Bear would just tilt their heads in confusion. "Penny doesn't know what you're talking about. Mr. Bugbear might." The Bugbear would mostly just stop slump over when she said that, raising it's short arms over it's head to cover it's button eyes in disappointment. Penny doesn't really know what a fist bump is, so she does the motion and then pulls away immediately, as if she gave a very weak punch that touched her clenched hand. "So you're like Tabitha. That's nice."
“It’s as they said... the demon is raising the dead. While our base is in better condition, I cannot say if it is a massive improvement, given the citywide situation... although it is at least not overrun like here. We shall do what we can here, but we would be more than glad to escort you back if things become too dire.” Prima tensed up at the sight of some bodies moving. That couldn’t be good. She drew her gun, although she didn’t have a set target. She muttered to her companions. “What’s the plan? We cannot afford to wait too long.”
[As they get closer to the amusement park, the rhythm turned into a melody, which turned into a quite old, somber tune. If any of them were to recognize it, they would know it's a complete cover of Nocturne opus 9 number 2 on the violin, many playing at once. The slowly spinning Ferris wheel becomes a testament to the somber aura of the place. The demons above, Succubus and Incubus, many of them, flap their wings at the same time, moving in a rather bizarre way... as their method of dancing. At the gates in front of them, two demons with four arms and a blade in each hand, Taraka, are guarding the entrance. They may also be able to hear the laughter of a small child inside the still functioning park.] "Uncle Red" and "Uncle Black" [The voice seems to call out to these two with joy. It is also important to note that the walls protecting the park are rather ruined, and some areas seem to be lower than they should be, that with rubble at their feet.]
The Punk would feel ready to strike as the arcane magic it has been channeling ignites its robes in a soft blue ember. It would look at the group of men then at the rising forces and try to evaluate the best course of action before commenting back to Prima. "Well a first priority front and foremost was to get these men to safety. We need to direct them back to the base at the very least and buy them enough time to get a good distance away from here, that means we have to slug it out. So if may can you give them the coordinates or a pathway back? It would look over at Rowan and yell for him to come back so they could stick together seeing that he's lingering a bit farther away from itself and Prima. "Good Champ mind coming back we need to hold out and get these people back to safety....if you do this I promise you get to vanquish ever corpse here just get back!"
While she does know music, Tot's tastes are more up to date, so all she'd recognize it as is something classical. And boring. Tot would shake her head, casting a quick glance around the field. If their goal was simply to break in, then they'd be better served heading around the walls, however if they got caught in there getting out would be another issue. So instead, Tot whispers to Penny "We'll see what's up, but just be ready to bail, cool?" giving the younger girl a chance to confirm she got it before walking out in the open and waving to the Taraka guarding the gate "Yo, pretty nice setup you guys got here. Name's Jessica Praise, nice little operation you guys got here." Tot would curl the end of her hair as she finds her gum has lost its flavor again. While she waits for the demons' reactions she'd go ahead and spit her gum out in order to replace it.
Penny reached closer and felt that the music to her was like a recollection of sorts. It reminded her a bit of her dad. But other than that note, it actually was pretty boring to hear the tune without her father around. "Ok." Was all she had to say before catching her bugbear that was floating behind her and holding it in her arms, like she usually would before it had became a demon of hers. She walked out, tilting her head at the demons that guarded the establishment. "Hi. I'm Penny. Can Penny and Mr. Bear have fun?" As always, her words sounded innocent and childlike. She actually was careful in not trying to reveal it immediately, but other than the rough patchwork, blue button eyes, and it's magenta red colored fur, it looked pretty similar to a certain demon.
[The Right Taraka would sniff the air as both approach, after which, she would turn to The Left Taraka.] It reeks of Magatsuhi. No, magnetite. Something that does not belong in this world is somewhere around here. [Both Taraka would slowly turn to face the two girls. Although their first instinct is to attack and consume, for now, their task is another.] To have fun is the only rule, Black Count says. To let the girl roam is the only precaution, Red Baron says, [They do not hesitate in opening the massive gates that lead into a massive amusement park. A giant Ferris wheel that doesn't stop. A carousel with some very hard to make out horses. a shooting range with peculiar targets. Costumed "people" walking around rather awkwardly. And of course, a rollercoaster that waits for visitors. Both demons gesture them to come on in.] You are to play with the child should she approach you. Have fun.
"Oh, sweet. You two are cooler than I thought." Tot wouldn't really question the situation, running inside and trusting Penny to come with her. She'd start by heading to the shooting range, hasn't practiced shooting with an actual gun, but it shouldn't be too hard right? Tot would nod back to Penny assuming they followed her "You ready to go for a high score kid?"
Though the bear would rattle in her arms a bit, noticing the two demons true nature being hidden, it decided to leave itself hidden as well. Penny, however, was happy as always, getting closer to them to show her thanks, while also mocking the fact that they can't kill her on the spot. "Thank you! Penny appreciates it a bunch, tee-hee." Her eyes darted around the place in excitement, immediately making her way towards the ferris wheel until Mr. Bear nudged her to go where Tot was as he always did. "Penny's never seen these before! As Daddy said, 'you shouldn't waste bullets sweetie'." Her teddy bear back in her arms, slumping it's head backwards again to try and look at the sky idly with it's button eyes. "Penny never understood what he was trying to teach though."
[The flying demons above were in trance, as Mr. Bugbear may be able to tell. They weren't acting normally, in fact, they were almost very clearly being controlled by something. As soon as Tot approaches the shooting range, a man with a very wide smile and eyes wide open would approach them. He had a straw hat, black pants and very dirty vest of white and red, though one may wonder if the red was even paint. On top of it all, he had a white robe.] Welcome girls! Would you like to give our wonderful game a try!? [He would gesture towards a pinkish, dilapidated wall with holes on it and blood stains. The man would then point at two tickets in his hand.] If you win, you will get two free tickets to ride either on the Ferris wheel or the carousel~! So give it your best shot, if you dare.
"So your dad has a lot of guns then? Cool, maybe you've got some of his talent. May as well test it out right?" Tot keeps up a casual conversation, since Penny brought up her dad anyways, it seemed like a natural place to start, especially since it linked up to where they're going. Once they arrive at the shooting Range, Tot meets the man's smile with an almost equally wide on of her own "Oh sweet, free prizes? Sounds good to me. I was hoping to check out the ferris wheel anyways."
"Oh, but Daddy has a lot more toys that he lets Penny and Tabitha play with, tee-hee!" Her tone was obviously that of a happy one, the girl's family making her giddy instead of just blank. She meets the man at the stand with a wider smile than both him and Tot, her excitement skyrocketing upon seeing the shooting range. "Woah, that's so cool! Penny wants to play, too!" Mr. Bugbear tilts it's head in confusion while looking upwards, though overall still being idle in Penny's arms. Penny's head tilted in confusion as well when she looked around, trying to find something else to shoot with since she doesn't want to use her revolver. "Daddy told me that 'six-shooters' were unreliable sometimes, so where can Penny find another toy?"
Sorry, sorry little missy. You will have to use your revolver, but there are tons of ammunitions, so rest assured! A group of people came with tons and tons of them after all! [The man moves his head from side to side, almost breaking his own neck. After this, he would leave box after box of different types of ammunition on the counter, including for Penny's revolver.] Just know! You will have three chances, and you must fire all three shots! All three have to hit something in order for you to win this prize, so get ready! [He would quickly disappear from sight. He would then peak from the sight before showing up again with a box on his hands. A faint meow can be heard. The situation is almost comical in the frantic way the man moves. Putting the box on the floor, and then pressing his back against the wall, he would forcefully pick up two cats from the box, so hard, the cats seem to be in pain, but unable to do anything.] Three shots, and three targets! Will you be today's winner? I hope! My friends were unable to properly kill me!
Penny lets out a bit of a sigh before she loads her revolver, spinning the barrel quickly and aiming quickly, winking and letting out giggles here and there. "Alrighty, Penny's ready!" Once she saw the targets however, Penny immediately got her focus off shooting and moreso on the cats. "Awww, they're so adorable! Penny wants one! Penny want!" She picks her revolver back up though, and ends up shooting all tree of her bullets right at the man instead of the kittens that he's holding up. Despite her looks, the skill she had with the gun made it so that they all had aimed for the head, straight and consecutively, in a horribly calculated manner despite how little time she had to prepare. Though, if the man decided to try and block the shots with the kittens in his hands, he'd actually find that none of them would be tasting lead anytime soon, since she secretly loaded the gun with non-lethal bullets.
[The bullets would hit the man's head but he would not fall. Or die. Nor did the kittens. His smile quickly goes away as his wide eyes fill with tears.] You had to kill me, please you should've killed me! My frien-the Resistan- [From the very entrance of Destinyland a sword would fly at high speeds and impale him against the wall, making a few cracks on the wall. The man dies immediately but does not let go the cats. There not a single shriek, but a sigh of relief coming out of his ruined lips. The Ferris wheel stops, the carousel does not spin anymore, every light goes out and the cats meow loudly before puking out their guts.] So clever, are you. [The classical music that once filled the park, stopped. The flying demons slowly descend to the ground, in complete silence and with their hands clapped together. A violin makes a quick few notes to add drama, and the voice speaks again.] Will you apologize? Miss Alice is quite upset.
Tot kinda just stands there for a few moments, blinking... It was most certainly not the game she was expecting... And even more when she sees the guy just get impaled out of nowhere. Tot would shake her head, she's seen similar scenes before, though its usually not as sudden. The girl quickly regains her composure and piping up, quickly putting her hand over Penny's mouth to keep the kid from saying something dumb "Hey, it was just a little joke. Kid just wanted to give a bit of a surprise. Don't mind letting me talk for her do ya?" Tot would slowly bring her hand closer to her axe, not quite touching it yet, but she's already scanning the place for an escape route just in case "We were just hopin' to look around the place since we heard it was still running. Hadn't been able to get into a sweet joint like Destinyland before, so we were hopin' to play around a bit. Hope our joke wasn't in poor taste."
Penny stares blankly at all the things that occur right in front of her eyes...daddy would be proud...if it didn't lead to this...the death of the man, the death of the kittens, it doesn't faze the little girl. What fazes her is the situation. Daddy would be so mad...seeing it all go into checkmate in the blink of an eye. Daddy would be angry. Penny would be in trouble. Mr. Bear would be taken away. "Penny's sor-" Her revolver dropped to the ground when Tot would cover her mouth, Mr. Bugbear going limp in her arms but it'd still hold on tight. It was shocking enough to the girl, it made her mad to see her lose. Tears almost came out until her yellow eyes go completely blank, as if she had fainted. Her whole figure was frozen, but the little girl was clearly still alive, pulse radiating and heart beating. While it may be concerning, given the heat of the situation...it isn't noticeable in the slightest. "..." Penny nods in response to what Tot says.
Oh, and of such bad taste it was. It is not polite of guests to make a mess or worse, to break the rules... the owners imposed. Isn't that right, vermin? [All of the Succubae and Incubi applaud at the sign of a violin playing a single note. All, but one. That Succubus was doing her best not to comply, and so, her demonic body ends up cut in half by some kind of concentrated energy blast.] To accept those apologies, is not my duty, I am but an executioner. Miss Alice, should we let them off? They, too, are from the Resistance. Just like the groups that got here before. [A light would illuminate the shape of a small 5-year-old blonde girl, wearing a blue dress, standing at the top of the Ferris wheel. She looks down at the pair with curious eyes, wondering what to do.] I'm not sure Uncle David, they are like me, like Alice~ [Tot Pop, looking for a way out in the middle of the darkness is able to notice a strange portal. Looking at it long enough would relay information directly into her brain, proof that, whatever this was, was not natural to the reality they were at. Looking at it would certain words surface from the millions of options inside of her brain; "Safe Escape", and "0/1". Besides this, there was the main entrance to the amusement park, now being guarded by the two Taraka.]
"I thought the only rule was to have fun?" Tot raises an eyebrow, letting go of Penny, though she's not sure what the kid'll do, holding them back kinda agoes against the message she's going for. The only known way out has some sort of requirement she's not sure of, though she could try slipping past the two guards, outnumbered as they are that's a last resort. Tot simply shrugs, keeping a positive, casual air about her as she continues. "And honestly, I think we can have a lot more fun living. Now that I'm thinkin' about it, you guys manage to find any instruments around here other than those violins?" Tot would gladly try to change the subject away from her and Penny, and if she gets to use her other talents that would be all together. "I'm actually a bit of a musician myself, mostly play the guitar. If you've found somethin' like one I could show ya."
As Tot lets go of Penny, the little girl actually goes limp, almost transitioning to full-on ragdoll until the bear that was holding her keeps her up. Due to this, the girl seems as if she's standing normally, the teddy bear that she holds in her arms is completely still, and the girl seemed to be the one in control. "..." The eyes are the windows to the soul, they say. Too bad her yellow eyes can tell nothing but emptiness. She doesn't even bother trying to pick up the revolver anymore, seeing as where that lead her. "..." The girl simply nods along to whatever Tot is saying, finding herself unable to actually speak up.
It is important Alice is the one having fun, do not misunderstand. [The "Fiend" would take interest in Tot Pop's reference to the violins, and figures that there is no more point in remaining hidden. From the box in which the cats used to be kept, a skeletal figure would slowly emerge. It was dressed in medieval clothing and was also, of course, playing the violin. This time however, Tot would feel weird, like have the intense impulse to dance right then and there. Whether she does it or not however, depends on her will power.] My name is David. I live for the music, and I am here to entertain Miss Alice in the name of both Black Count and Red Baron. Every single one of you is but a toy. [The Fiend would float closer to the pair, cackling.] So no, you don't get to play. You're played with. [David would begin playing his violin in a frantic way, with passion, with emotion. Alice, on the other hand, claps at the rhythm of the music and laughs. This time, the bodies of both girls would feel the impulse to dance, stronger than before. It was for the best to wish that their will power was enough to escape somehow, or fight.]
Tot starts moving with the music, though she manages not to fall into the same dance as all the demons around her. Now that its all said and done, she's actually quite upset, one with this prick who thinks he can tell her what to do, and two at the kid who threw them into this mess to begun with. On the plus side, now that the niceties were over with, she finally gets to express her opinion on the selection. "You seriously call this crap music? You've obviously practiced it, but that's just the problem. You're just going through the motions, rehashing old ground everyone's heard a dozen times before. Where's the passion, the soul, the... YOU, in it? Now this is more my speed." Tot grabs Penny's hand, looking towards the entrance, or rather, at the walls to see which one would be most easily climbed as she snaps her fingers with a shout "Doresido" The sound of her finger snapping would reverberate through the main area at Destinyland, those her spell might hit, like David or any number of the dancers, would hear the sound seeming to come from all direction. As far as actual damage it would cause little more than a headache, but hopefully it would disorient them enough to give Tot and Penny a good chance to book it.
Penny would simply clap her hands together and laugh like Alice did, only this time it only lasted for a few seconds, her foot slumping hard to the beat until it actually made a dent in the ground. Now that the little girl looked up, her eyes were now the most basic shade of blue instead of bright yellow, and her smile was more twisted than it usually is. “Heh. She’s acting up. No worries. It’s all fine, I can assure you.” Her voice was actually the same pitch and tone, but there was no emotion left. The happiness and supposed innocence was now gone and replaced with one that was horribly robotic. Once the girl’s hand gets grabbed however, she doesn’t try and stall, she tries and runs along with Tot at a fast pace. “Maybe this will do something. Maybe. Masukunda.” The bear in the girl’s arms would extend it’s short arms forward at where all the other monsters were, making them move a bit more sluggish and lower their chances to evade attacks. As if that was even useful.
[Tot's Doresido is able to land on 4 of the total 9 enemies. Four of them being Incubus and just one being Succubus. Of course, David wouldn't like that his music was insulted both verbally and physically, and as such, orders the remaining demons to quickly give chase, but Bugbear's Masukunda works, making every single enemy more sluggish. Alice was having a blast.] Hahaha! Uncle David they are getting away, the funny sisters are getting away~! [David, angry and insulted, decides against voicing his complaints. Alice far surpasses him,] Yes, it would seem that way... [The remaining 4 demons; three Succubus and one Incubus quickly close in, and right in front of them are the Taraka, prepared to not let them pass if they are to choose the gates. However, escaping by going over the fence is still possible. To their right is a particularly weak structure, and to the left, is one that is already pretty broken down, but it leads directly into the sea.]
(edited by Melbourne)
"Alright kid, here we go!" Tot would first look towards the ocean, since they're not only gonna have to get out, but also get away from the place. However, she doesn't know if Penny can swim, and the first rule is not to leave anyone behind. So instead, Tot runs towards the already weakened part of the fence to their right, slinging the sizable battleaxe off her back and straight into it. Its at this moment that she silently blesses her choice of weapon, inconvenient, maybe, but very nice for breaking things "Whatever you do, we don't stop running till you're back at base, cool? Just like the way over here."
Though the girl’s first instinct would be to attack, she chooses not to as of now since it might actually be more of a bad idea than it seems to be now, what with all of the enemies around. The stupid revolver was left behind, but there were better guns back at base. Speaking of base... “You don’t have to tell me twice. Triple Down! She points both of her fingers at the weakened part of the fence, making Penny’s Bugsbear fling three of the skulls inside of it’s chest at it in an attempt to help break down the fence. Once the fence was broken, the girl would keep running, her eyes not seeming to blink as her legs went in a certain algorithm making her only able to run and not look back.
(edited by Penny)
[The pair's way was free of enemies, so their attempt at breaking down the fence via Bugbear's Triple Down and Tot's Axe was successful. And so, they manage to slip away from the grasp of the flying demons who were quickly closing in on them. David would play his violin once more, and the demons would stop dead on their track.] Alice thinks that it was fun! It was super fun! Now let's get back to playing with the other people! [The girl claps as the duo keep running away, now with a clear idea of what happened to the poor men and women who came here before they did. David, however, had been attacked by their words, by their insolence, just like humans all around do. He would play a melody of doom as the Taraka slowly approach the "escape door" of theirs.] I have but one last act to show you, my dear. Feast your eyes on this! [One note, his final one. The Taraka would aim their hands at the pair and launch their swords at them with the same strength and precision used against the poor Resistance Member from before. 7 blades, from each of their arms, of course, minus the one used before. Tot and Penny would find it difficult to be hit with most, that is, 4 of them. But three hit them and go through the body parts like a knife cutting paper. One of the swords get stuck on Tot's upper back, on the right side. Meanwhile, the remaining two would get stuck on Penny's right and left leg.] From up there, you will see how they fare. [Alice claps with excitement before waving her small hands.] Goodbye, friends! Let's meet another day~!
Tot was just about to breathe a sigh of relief when she notices the first sword fly by her. She has about enough time to think “Oh shit”, before one of them finds itself lodged in her chest. Fortunately it missed her heart, but not by much. Tot stumbles forward, grabbing the blade of the weapon as she tries to find a nearby building for cover, dropping her axe to make it an easier trip as she drags Penny along. “Could have.... Went better.” They’re obviously not going to make it back like this, but if they can find a safe place to rest for a bit and use the medicine they might have a chance.
Rowan yelled back at Spell Punk with a tone of urgency. "Forgot that, I can hear a boss fight approaching. If I can take down this guy, it'll be smooth sailing from there. There's no time, so trust me on this one!" He would shoot at the wall behind him, aiming to cloud himself in debris. Next, he would hurry towards the sound of the rattling bones, loading a clip and spraying it down into the alleyway at random in hopes of catching the demon off guard.
"I- oh- nevermind. That is it, then. Gentlemen, hurry to shelter if need be. It seems we will have to stop this problem at the source." Muttering a few less-than-ladylike things under her breath, Prima took off after Rowan, shooting at any enemies blocking her path.
Penny keeps running, and went a bit of a fair distance. At least until the blades had gone and went into her legs, immediately making the little girl fall. No screams of pain nor agony, her face is emotionless and her blue eyes stay wide open. “...” The girl simply pulls them out and almost tried to limp her way over and follow Tot. The bugbear follows the pair close by, and while she’s being dragged by Tot, her eyes now blue are still wide open, her mouth saying something in a robotic voice. “How was our performance? Rate 5 stars.” Of course, the message kept repeating itself in the exact same tone of voice and volume each time, but if Tot were to listen closely, there was the sound of people arguing hidden from behind the automated message. Specifically, it’d sound like a pre-teen girl and her father. The words “broken” and multiple synonyms for the word could be deciphered if Tot bothered.
“How very...Alright Gentlemen I guess you will need to start running now. May you have blessings of a safe return, I shall keep most of these rotting flesh busy and we will snuff the commander of this uprising.” The Spell Punk would follow in suit behind Prima and Rowan, it would take its own turns blasting the rising corpses buying some time for men and it’s group but also causes it to lag greatly behind the other two by a good distance.
[Both Penny and Tot end up badly hurt after their encounter with the demons and the Fiend. As they gain distance, all of them laugh very satisfied with themselves at the terrible injuries both were subjected to. Despite this, the managed to get away. As they slowly try to make their way back to the base, and as Tot scouts for anywhere they can stay at, she finds a side to the highway that has broken down, making a rubble bridge into the fourth floor of an apartment. The sun is now going down, setting and hiding behind the ruined building at the center of Tokyo, right in front of them, to the West. If they look back, they may notice the dark slowly giving the stars their chance to shine, and the Moon is... larger than it usually is; it's massive, as if watching, waiting for something to happen.]
[AT AN EARLIER TIME, SOMEWHERE ELSE.]
Ah, so you, too, insolent child, desire to face me. It was not necessary to do so, but if you wish... [He was a shadowy figure, sitting on the floor with a strange hat on, and yet, they could not make up his face. He would raise one hand and snap his skeletal fingers, and the world around them would slow down, and then stop completely. The neighborhood of Yongen-Jaya trying to escape; the zombies attacking the living and pursuing them also stop dead on their tracks; birds in the sky remain motionless. The trio would then be sucked into the ground, only to land in a barren wasteland with a red sky and thunderous clouds. In front of them, a skeleton wearing monk clothes was waiting.] Why do you fight death? It is the fate of the people in this city to perish. Only in a quick death will they find true salvation from the torment.
Prima fell to one knee upon landing. This being had the power to stop time, and bring them to its world... it reminded her of the legendaries of her own world. She gathered her courage and stood up, only to bow to the demon. "Mr. Daisoujou, is it? I apologize, but I do not see the same 'salvation' you do. I only wish for the safety of the people of this place. I have seen this place saved before in another time, and I know it is not impossible to save it again. While I would rather not face you, unless you can end your plan and torment these lost souls no more, I have few other choices but to fight... and one of my companions is eager for combat, it seems."
Once Penny starts breaking down with weird blue eyes, Tot is very, very confused, but it doesn't stop her from dragging the kid along with her, though she winces every time she ends up bumping Penny's legs, they shouldn't remove the swords yet since it slows the bleeding "The heck... Is up now? I hope... Most kids are easier." After finally dragging the delirious kid somewhere relatively safe, Tot takes a moment to look at the pair of them. At this point she's lost a lot of blood, and had she removed the sword earlier it probably would have been worse. Fortunately, she still has the two things of first-aid spray. It probably won't fix them up completely, but it may stabilize them. "Never actually... Had to do this, but..." After taking as deep a breath as she could, Tot would slowly drag the sword out of her chest, before applying one of their first aid sprays to help close the wound. Next she'd tear off a bit of her jacket to act as bandaging and cover it while it heals. "Gah!... Never.. Again." Tot would take a short break as she looks over Penny, before doing the same thing with her, slowly removing the swords from her legs, and then applying the last of their first aid spray before covering the injuries with what's left of her jacket. It was a bit of a crude set up, but all things considered its about as much as she can ask for. "Now... Its just.. Waiting."
Even when the little girl was put down, the message still kept going. Throughout the whole process, the bugbear sat close to Penny, in an attempt to comfort her when she wakes up. Once her legs were healed, the message would finally stop repeating itself, and Penny's eyes would now resemble static. ???: "Daddy, Penny's broken! I've told you a lot of times but you still won't listen!" After the voice could clearly be heard, her eyes now gave a picture of a girl that seemed to be older than Penny, looking outside from it. The background from what the girl seemed to be inside a lab of sorts, an ominous looking old man wearing clothes that resemble that of a scientist standing by her, presumably the one that is called "Daddy". ???: "How fascinating. I didn't account for any of that to happen. Perhaps I'll need to try and work out these malfunctions once she gets back. This test run was exciting to say the least. Thank you for helping, Tabitha." Afterwards, her eyes would close, and she opened them up again, revealing them to be bright yellow once again. Instinctively, the girl would rub her eyes weakly, grabbing Mr. Bugbear in an instant before looking back at Tot, suddenly feeling in a bit of pain. Her voice was more meek than usual, and she didn't get to be giddy due to her body hurting, specifically her legs. "What happened...to Penny?...was Mr. Bear...hurt?"
Tot blinks a few times, looking back at Penny. She.. Probably wasn't supposed to overhear that bit. There was... Definitely something wrong with Penny. But Tot didn't know what, and worrying the girl wouldn't do any good, so Tot started smiling again, speaking fairly casual as they waited "Mr. Bear's perfectly fine. You can.. Uh.. You can see what's up with your legs, but I think we're gonna make it. Just need to rest up a bit until we're both good to go, then we can head back."
Penny laughs weakly, she tries to move her legs but immediately feels that they're aching badly, and gives up on it. She hugs the bugbear tightly, tears almost forming in her eyes while the teddy bear doesn't resist, leaning it's head onto her chest. "That's nice...Penny's going to sleep now..." Her head slumps down, her eyes shut, the bear resting in her arms. Penny didn't even bother to note about the situation they're in and decided to take a nap in the middle of nowhere. To anyone that just passes by and sees them, the girl even looked to be dead.
The Spell Punk would fall besid the other two before fluttering back to a standing position to see this shadowy figure. It would try to read its aura and the area around them but only comes up with a sharp feeling of death, this was someone of great power and fighting seems to be less then advantageous. Rather the Spell Punk would stand beside Prima and bow as well to show respeclot to the potent figure and help Prima. "I to also sense great power and I plus the waving spirits with me must deerly respect that. My good sir we wish not to fight as a Spell Punk some more dipomacy and peace could help lead us both to better goals its been done before as this madame here has just said. That said if you stand in our goal to keep the peace and mend the wounds of this era we will provide resistence, so would it not be better to avoid a tussle?" It would glance at Rowan then at this Mr Daisoujou and secretly pray that they don't have to fight someone that seem so potent in the arcanes to posses control time and space. Just for once reasoing win out...
Rowan, after the two besides him say their piece, interjects while snapping the fingers on his right hand rapidly. "Yeah, yeah, i'm sure you've got some big philosophical reason for what you're doing. I've got my own reasons, sure, but what does that matter in the midst of battle? You think we should just lay up our arms and let ourselves be wiped out? Set an example." He points the scope of his M16 at the demon, loading the clip and steadying it slowly whilst backing up in preparation for any response.
(edited by Rowan)
Tot would watch the sunset for a while, it felt good to simply rest there, but she also knew they couldn't both afford to sleep, and she couldn't really rely on the kid to keep watch. She looked over at Penny's sleeping form, and though she briefly considered waking the kid, what good would it do? They might not be able to walk anyways, so there's only really one thing to do. After waiting several minutes to make sure the kid was really asleep, Tot would bend down next to Penny, making a "shhhh"ing motion at her bugbear to suggest they be quiet, before silently picking the kid up, piggyback style, in hopes of not waking them. "Can't risk staying here all night... Just got one leg of the journey left.... But its a long one." Tot would look outside, making sure the coast was clear, before she decides to simply walk back to the base the way they came, it might take a while, but its likely to be safer than an unknown path, especially since they managed to avoid most of the danger on their way out.
There is nothing to discuss, I have but one task: To bring salvation to the wicked hearts of people; to give fast, painless death before all hell breaks loose. You will all die by my hand, do not fight. [Daisoujou would remain in the same spot and simply make a mark with his right hand by drawing it on the air. After this, a small bell would appear, which he would ring. The bell would then conjure up a powerful ray of light that would hit everyone, Makouga.] I shall restore the order of the universe, you, outsiders do not belong in this world. [The demon would then start meditating. This would make Punk feel strange, as it something was being forced out of him. Using Meditation Daisoujou had absorbed Punk's "spirit", which would make his skills harder to use, and Daisoujou's easier to launch.] Accept fate! ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [Tot would find the coast absolutely clear, and the sun had almost gone out as she, with Penny on her back, decided to brave the road and be on her way back. She would most likely not face much opposition, as demons had all headed somewhere else entirely. In the distance, she may be able to still hear Destinyland's wicked tune, as the stars get brighter, and the city is lost.]
Prima braced herself for the initial spell. The blinding light scorched her body, but despite that, she took the attack rather well. “So he uses light... better not use that, then.” She closed her eyes and searched her new powers for something to use. One word escaped her lips. “Masukukaja.” The entire party would feel lighter as a green light washed over them. Prima took a few quick steps back and raised a hand, channeling her energy for her next move.
Rowan felt his skin burn slightly, but shrugged it off and began his own assault. "Fuck it, i'm crippling this bitch!" Rowan aims at the arms of the demon and fires a single precise shot at the limbs using the skill Armshot.
The strike and capture of his soul would throw the Spell Punk for a loop as it tried to pick itself off the floor ever so weakly the spell of Prima would aid him in recovering quicker though from this to get up.. “And they say we are problem in these times... my thanks madame, demons these days show no class but brute aggression I must say...lots of painful aggression i’ll give them that.” The spell punk would take its time to move toward the back line of the the group and begin to channel Gryva but find a great difficulty to do so with the curse placed upon him by Daisoujou, if somehow successful it would use spell more so as a counter attack potentially to block a attack flung their way, if it fails which it would most likely then it’s pretty vulnerable to be struck down again.
[Rowan's Armshot is successful, and as such, Daisoujou receives a considerable amount of damage, but not only that, he sees his bell be damaged as well, the beautiful, golden bell had a dent, which would surely lower the capacity of his own abilities. Furthermore, the trio had increased their agility.] And yet you choose to struggle. Especially you, Primarina. You, out of everyone here, deserve death the most! The only salvation the humans will face is extinction. [Daisoujou would ring his bell once more, casting Agidyne on the blue-haired girl. But Punk's Gryva made sure the fire was contained, reducing the its power into Agi. Daisoujou would look confused. The spell was certainly one belonging to his own reality, but for it to be used as such, it was unbelievable.] Outsider, the order of the universe must not be contradicted. If you asked a human to willingly die, would they? Humans reject their own mortality and even fear it, when it's as natural and normal as their ability to breath. I was a human once, but in accepting my mortality I ascended to a plane beyond. Humanity was never meant to last into eternity! [Daisoujou would start meditating again. This time, they would be surrounded by a strange cloud that would make them either feel Confused, Charmed or so relaxed they would Sleep right then and there. Daisoujou's Preach had such power. But no one is afflicted, Daisoujou seems conflicted.] Soon, your luck shall run out.
Prima expected the flames to swallow her up, but to her surprise, Spell Punk’s quick thinking lessened the attack to a tolerable level. She pat away any bits of fire that caught on her outfit and smiled at Spell Punk. “Thank you, Spell Punk, although use your energy wisely.” The cloud made her head spin, yet its effects didn’t take place. She raised her hand again towards Daisoujou. “While I agree humans cannot avoid death, as you said, it is the nature of humanity to fight against it. That is what drives all life. Therefore, though your reasoning is strong, it will not cause us to waver in our decision.” As she spoke, her mind raced. Spell Punk couldn’t weaken the attacks forever, and Daisoujou definitely still had some tricks up his sleeve. She couldn’t fight as a pokemon anymore. Like her companions, she had to think outside the box. Find a weak point... A marowak had its bone. A farfetch’d had its leek. And Daisoujou had a bell that preceded half of his attacks so far. Prima would use Bufula, but only when Daisoujou revealed the bell to ring it again. If all went well, the icy attack would strike the bell to knock it out of the skeleton’s hands.
"Heh, you still talking? Maybe if you focused on battling as much as you did idle chatter, you'd actually get people to listen for once." Rowan, noticing his heightened speed, rolls low to the ground and circles behind Daisoujou. Loading his rifle, he jumps in the air behind the demon and waits for the target to turn around, shooting a single bullet aimed at the legs. "Let's see you get a turn in with this!"
The Spell Punk would falter a bit to the ground feeling a bit exahusted but tries to recollect itself and get up once again. "Worry not my good madame just keep your attention not he target and i'll worry about the smaller details." The Spell Punk would try to channel its own inner energy which you take quite a lot out of the small one but it had a keen plan. Noticing Rowan's attempting a flanking maneuver and Prima's attempt to cast a spell it would make for a quick pincer attack. The Spell Punk would move to the side of Prima a bit and try to channel out a Crystal Dust Spell, anticipating that Daisoujou could potentially turn on Rowan pretty quickly it would fire at that moment and split his attention even further between the three. The use of this spell would harshly drain it and it not a guaranteed as its concentration to cast them was withered greatly.
Do as you as please, fate shall be completed all the same. To be in agony before crossing the River Styx... a slow, tortuous end. Remember my words, you will have a taste of the most horrible demon on this Earth before the Sun goes down. [The Fiend would cackle as his jaw unhinges in an unnatural way before going back to normal. The demon was going to attack once more, but Rowan's quick movements stopped him from doing so just yet. Although the demon was sitting on the floor in a meditation pose, he would find the one shot to his leg rather uncomfortable. The damage was not big at all, but he could feel his concentration slipping, and so, his ability to hit, evade or attack before any of them.] Always so loud, you remind me of those wretched Brutes. Perhaps you would fancy those Chaotic demons. [Daisoujou pulls out his trusty bell once again, preparing powerful lights that would burn Rowan away. But in the group's enhanced agility; in his own decreased "stat", he would find the Bufula directly hitting the bell would make him absolutely miss the strike, instead hitting the ground besides Rowan rather than him, avoiding any kind of damage. Of course, Daisoujou would resent such damage done to himself.] The bunch of you are quick thinkers, I will give you that. [He would try to attack once again but Punk's Crystal Dust would pack a punch. The Fiend would receive a good amount of damage, but not only that, he would also stay frozen in place, stopping him from acting. He would need a moment to recover from this.] This, you shall pay for this...!
“Here is our chance. I suspect he will retaliate with all he has when thawed, so strike hard if you can! Bufula!” Not wanting to risk any innate resistances with the Tundra Seal, Prima instead sent another icy projectile at the skeleton. The faster their opponent was down, the better. After the frost had faded from around her fingertips, she watched carefully for any sign of Daisoujou breaking out of his status. Freeze wasn’t a commonly-seen ailment where she came from, but its duration was unreliable.
"Quite agree lets poor everything we have at it!" The Spell Punk would channel a bit more energy it has in itself to cast another Crystal Dust the aim here was to time it right with Prima's to make the frosty attacks more potent together and keep Daisoujou under cold wraps. Yet such quick back to back casting really causes the small Punk to fall to the floor for a bit trying to catch its breath and regain some strength that it has still lost.
"I've been waiting for this!" Rather then aiming for a more precise shot, Rowan instead opts to unleash a barrage of bullets spread out around the demon. While the enemy's chest was in the scope of the gun, Rowan's handling and the gun's own knockback would cause some bullets to miss their mark.
[As Daoisoujou laid frozen by the earlier attack, he is once again struck with powerful Ice moves that lay waste to his endurance... and his patience, but that wasn't even the end of it, because Rowan would quickly follow up with a barrage of bullets. Daisoujou's monk robe is all but ruined with random bullet holes that are still burning. Despite this and luckily for the Fiend, he is able to recover from his Frozen state, there was no way the same thing would work again, especially in such a quick succession.] I am... angered. You are but mere children in the face of inevitable defeat. However... it is a mistake on my part to look at you lowly, instead, I shall accept you as my equals, perhaps even my superiors. [Daisoujou would ring his bell as an invisible orb surrounds his body, Makarakarn. He chuckles.] Therefore, I shall put my all into salving you three, and the people of Yongen-Jaya. [After saying these words, Daisoujou would ring his bell, and then a strange mist would surround the entire group.] God has already written down how this battle will end, so He who controls the universe knows its rules, and so He also maintains the order that revolves around Him. Accept it, there is no other choice. [Prima would be inflicted with Charm and Punk would then fall victim to Sleep. However, Daisoujou's Preach had no effect whatsoever on Rowan. Punk shall stay asleep until he receives damage of any kind, but of course, this should allow him to rest and recover some of his energy. Prima, on the other hand, will remain Charmed, quite possibly, for two possible actions. Not knowing what to do, she may, in fact, either buff Fiend, or attack her allies.]
The Spell Punk would fall to the floor and lay there fast asleep most likely trying to have a good dream or mediation to reclaim its energy and maybe other good blessings. Aside from that its almost just a body bag on the floor.
Rowan's eyes dart around the battlefield, noticing that one of his allies wasn't in a condition to fight and the other was acting strange. He approaches Daisoujou from the nearest side and runs up his body, backfliping off at the head with a kick to disorient the enemy. He lands a good distance back and breaks into a roll, preparing to dodge or weaken upcoming attacks.
Prima’s senses blurred as a giddy feeling took over her entire body. Who was friend or foe was mixed up in her head. There was only room for thoughts of Daisoujou. With a dazed smile, she held up her hand. “Masukukaja!” This would only affect Daisoujou, acting against the debuff Rowan had caused earlier. Time would tell if Prima, still swaying happily, would recover from her affliction before any more harm to the party could be done.
[Daisoujou would cackle at his own return to form thanks to Prima's Masukukaja. The Fiend would quickly realize how easy it was now to aim his abilities. At that moment, however, Rowan approached him and attacked him in a rather regular way. Despite this and most of his opposition out of commission for a few more moments, he would turn and look at Rowan.] Do not think it will be easy to get away not, insolent child! [He would ring his bell, and from the ground below Rowan a powerful burst of fire would erupt, Agidyne. After this, the Fiend would ring it once more, not content with his previous fire. A blinding ray of light would fall down on the young one and hit him with all it's got, Kougaon.]
Unfortunately for Rowan, Prima’s random actions weren’t over yet. For her final action under the influence, she righted herself and, facing Rowan, waved her hand. “As he said, stop fleeing! Bufula!” This time, the icy attack soared towards Rowan, following the skeleton’s barrage. Prima’s eyes still had a cloudy look to them afterwards, although she appeared more confused.
Fast asleep. Do not disturb while dreaming.
The flames serve to not only scorch Rowan's face, soften his armor and boil his insides, but to also cloud his view. Rowan bolts in the direction he was currently facing til he was met facefirst with an evaporating blast, knocking him to the ground and melting the armor left of his chest to dust, the flesh underneath singed from brief exposure to the purifying light. Wasting no time, he bolts towards the source of this torment and attempts to grapple Daisoujou by the neck, lifting him up. He snipes the demon directly in the head, suddenly making note of the cackling sounds of ice behind him. In a last-ditch effort, he tries to toss the demon in the direction of the attack heading towards him, or at least get it near enough so that he wasn't the only one caught in the blast.
[Daisoujou was certainly satisfied with himself, as for a moment, Rowan seemed like he was about to bite it. Not only that, but Punk and Prima were under his spell. What he did not expect was for the arrogant child to keep running forward, effectively, taking him by surprise.] What is this...!? [Makarakarn cannot reflect the damage that comes from guns, so the damage he takes is critical. And not only that, but Rowan manages to pull the Fiend up and throw him in the direction of the Bufula used by Prima.] This isn't how it's supposed to go! Don't! [Daisoujou could not believe what just happened. Luckily for him, the Bufula hits, but is reflected right at Prima. Around this time, Punk should be waking up, as the effect of the inflicted Sleep do not last for too long. Daisoujou was hoping to eliminate at least one of them before the others came back to their sense, but it would seem he was a move short of it. He would end up on the ground before recomposing himself. His entire getup was ruined, and so was his temper. If there was to use numbers, then one would say he is down to 56%.] You, who keep fighting! You shall have a taste of total punishment before I bring thee salvation! [Daisoujou, knowing the effect was to pass regardless, decided to launch a Makouga, aiming to burn with light everyone around him. Then, he would follow up with a quick Meditation session, draining some of Prima's "spirit" to replenish his own.]
The icy attack hitting Prima square in the chest snapped her back to reality. Daisoujou’s light show and Meditation on top of that were enough to knock the girl off her feet. She coughed a few times and pushed herself up to a sitting position. “What... happened...?” She shook her head. Her memories from the charmed state were still fuzzy, but she knew that one of her allies was gravely injured and another had just gotten back into the fight. She glared at Daisoujou and stumbled to her feet. “I will not give you the chance to harm my friends any more. Bufula!” Prima ran forward while launching that icy spell again, but she could feel the strain of her reduced magical energy already. Still, while Daisoujou would hopefully be hit with the spell and thus distracted, Prima hoped to get between him and Rowan if possible - provided it wouldn’t end in friendly fire, of course.
(edited by PrimPrim)
Rowan shoots the bell of his adversary twice consecutively, crippling their method of offense and nearly breaking it. Choosing the count his blessings, the hunter gets behind his feminine ally for cover. He shouts out to the two accompanying him, his voice jagged and scarred. "I need healing!"
The Spell Punk would get up with a yawn and stretch. It felt incredibly irritated and a bit soar, it would clutched it’s head and pull the hood of its robe down to cover itself from the lighting. “Give me...a second to recenter myself...just have to...” It would channel some energy and with a flick of it’s robes cast a Mediarama spell to help refresh the party a bit and itself as it stumbles a bit backward try to recentre itself
[Daisoujou was starting to get desperate, his move set had been stagnating for a while now and they were now all healed and ready to keep going, of course, such healing would probably not do much for the most terrible of the wounds, but it was still a new breather. Furthermore, Rowan would damage his bell further, effectively debilitating the capacity of his spells. That's not even counting Bufula hitting him straight to the face.] Die at once! [He would shoot out two waves of Makouga, but because his bell his damaged, the spell would be downgraded to Makouha. This would start breaking Daisoujou's concentration hard.] What is the meaning of this!? All you had to do was to give up on your lives, you vermin!
Prima tanked the brunt of the Makouha, not even bothering to dodge due to shielding Rowan. Still, it was an easy feat with Daisoujou's weakening power. She lifted up her head and stared into Daisoujou's eye sockets. "We're not going to 'give up' anything. As I said before, it's the nature of living beings like us to fight against death. Perhaps you haven't fully realized the implications until now. Bufula!" Though her breathing was becoming more and more strained, Prima didn't lessen her icy assault. She couldn't afford to let up for a second.
"What's the matter, Getting too salty for you?" Inbetween one of the demon's attacks, Rowan shoots in the general direction of it from behind Prima, ducking afterwards to avoid stray flares that might curve around towards him.
“Ah yes I feel much better...and now we shall continue where we have left off I suppose.” The Spell Punk takes notes of Daisoujou’s frustration and how his focus diminishes which each failure of his attacks. This hatches a small idea inside and a way to keep its allies secured. It would move forward a bit and channel some more energy for another Gryva spell and prepare to use it as a counter attack move to defend its allies while they go on the offensive or itself. This would in the end still cause a costly drain again causing it to knee down to recover a bit.
Stop it, stop it already! [Daisoujou found himself to be feeling weaker by the second, and angrier too. He was failing, he was not going to win this. Even worse, he kept getting hit by the same Bufula, by the same bullets that had reduced him to about 13% of his total capacity. His robe and hat were nothing but rags at this point, and keeping his meditation position was next to impossible.] My fire...I shall cremate you! [His usual Agidyne would come at the ring of his bell, but the bell, broken down and almost useless; his own spirit fading away, it would be reduced to a mere Agi. but what makes this worse is Punk's Gryva, that would reduce Agi into a mere spark that would at most frighten its target, Prima.] I will bring salvation...! Salvation! [His bell would crack as he goes beyond what he can possibly do by casting a second attempt at Agidyne, this one indeed hitting Prima dead on. After this, the Fiend does his best to remain in position in order to finish them off.] The world is going to end, there is no point in struggling... ! Can't you see? I'm trying to save you from the worst of all hells... !
Prima couldn’t hold back a scream as the Agidyne scorched her, but she bit her tongue and did her best to get rid of any flames that clung to her clothes. The air around her chilled as she held up her gun. Gathering ice turned to mist from the heat on her body, drowning the fire and pain of the burns. “I am sorry, Daisoujou, but...” She took aim at the skeleton’s head. Frost crept up the length of the barrel. “We don’t need your salvation.” Though the bullets were of the light element, Prima channeled enough magic to give them the ice needed to deal damage to the Fiend. All it took was one pull of the trigger.
(edited by PrimPrim)
“I must agree your ways of salvation just don’t work. And seeing how we can’t be civil still.” The Spell Punk would get back up before channeling another spell of Gryva to lock Dausoujou in place so it can stop him in its tracks and leaving it open to the final barrage of attacks from Rowan and Prima. “It seems we must cut your endeavours short. A pleasure doing business otherwise I suppose and I would very much like my soul back as a return fee.” After casting this spell he would fall again back on its knees again due to the strains on it and excessive use of magic spell. Perhaps next time it will try to bring a weapon or just not get its soul snatch in a fight.
"Hol' up, before we finish this guy lemme steal his set." Rowan closes his eyes, his body filling with aquamarine spiritual energy. He envisions the way Daisoujou had reflected the ice and lets the energy flow through him to the demon. In a flash, the energy had faded back inside Rowan and his eyes retained a blue glimmer, the reflective power now in the back of his mind.
[Daisoujou would be hold in place quite successfully by Gryva, even inflicting damage he did not expect he would receive in the form of gravity forcing him into the ground, crushing the bell completely. Rowan, on the other hand would copy his ability without much of an issue.] No, impossible... ! [Would be the last thing he would say before getting hit by Prima's last attack. His entire skull disappearing, leaving nothing but a floating skeleton behind, as the effect of Gryva wasn't bound to be there for long.] ... Well done, you have bested me... But this... does not change a thing... Before the Sun goes down, you will all... die... I... shall meet you at the great beyond... [The rest of the Fiend's body would soon turn to dust, the only thing remaining being a Mala Necklace. They could immediately tell what this one object could do: While it does not cover the body, it does offer a special kind of energy that helps resist the attacks coming from elemental magic, namely, Fire, Ice, Wind and Electricity. It would remain on the floor until someone decided to claim ownership of it. After the battle was over, the would wake up at Yongen-Jaya; the zombies had all died and turned into dust, meanwhile, Boss and the others looked tired.] I dunno what you all did but it worked... they just... they lost. They are gone, they can rest in peace now... [It would appear that their group was fighting the creatures for quite a bit while they took care of Daisoujou.]
[After the battle, the three of them would feel a sudden surge in power. Rowan was now able to take far more punishment than before, and is able to use Crossfire, which deals medium damage to a group with his weapon. Punk would not see his constitution improve but his spirit was stronger. He can now use more spells before feeling any tired. The change is significant. Primarina, on the other hand, would notice her skill, Kouha, had become stronger, turning into Kouga.]
Rowan notices the necklace, reaching straight for it upon witnessing the defeat of the fiend. He slings it around his neck and feels a surge in his ability to endure magical attacks. "Huh, this may come in handy if I wanna tank more attacks like that." He raises his gun in the air in triumph, smiling and saluting his allies while bowing to the citizens. He then reminices about the battle. Wondering about the mass number of zombies, he realizes a method to effectively take down a group at once. Beginning the return trip, Rowan waves back to group "Let's hurry and return before anything bad happens!"
The Spell Punk would also try going for the Necklace but Rowan yoinks it and is already heading on his way back leaving the Spell Punk to blink for a bit and groan in disappointment. It made its was over to Boss's group and would just let them catch their breath before helping them out. "My apologies for leaving you out in the dust. Allow me to help you back to the safe haven and I can mop as well along the way hehe...." The Spell Punk would wave for Prima to follow before it starting the trip back as well with the group of civilians, asking them questions mostly to pry any info out on what they saw here or of other value.
Prima was exhausted, but despite that, she could feel that new light energy within her grow stronger. She put a hand against a nearby wall to steady herself. Although they had won, Daisoujou’s last words still bothered her. What could it... her eyes widened in shock. Of course, how could she forget? The sudden chill that coursed through her body paralyzed her, but she snapped out of it when she heard Boss’s voice. She gave him a small smile and bowed. “It was difficult, but these poor souls’ bodies are no longer under that demon’s influence. We... should probably get back to the base. Especially you, Rowan. You took quite a beating.” She sped up to catch up with Spell Punk. As they journeyed back, that worried look returned to her face.
[The men and group of young survivors slowly begin to move out of the place. As it stands, they would take about two hours to get back to the base. As it stands, they would get there at around 05:30 pm. But once they leave, in the same exact place the horse-head demon was agonizing would be a white portal. If they were to look at it, some information would go into their brains: "Safe Escape" and "0/2". There is something telling them that the way back to the base will be one without any issue, however, in front of them lays an alternative.]

"You didn't? S-sorry. I must have heard it somewhere." Prima looked away, but as she did so, the portal caught her eye. She stopped in her tracks. "That wasn't there before... hm..." She slowly nodded to herself. It was odd, but... "Perhaps we should take a detour into there."
Spell Punk would eye the portal and back at its compatriots and the looks on their faces. "Uh pardon me but shouldn't we be return back to base with these people we came to rescue....not that I want to complain i'm also curious....but we did just fight a strong being should we not rest..." The Spell Punk was very indecisive yet a small part of it wanted to know more anything at all. It would float a bit closer to this portal to get a look at it very skeptical of this thing.
"I just know that something... bad's going to happen soon. This might be our only shot of doing something before, well... have you heard of an ICBM? I don't know the exact details, but it could destroy the whole city." Prima began to approach the portal.
"Who's to say the ominous portal will lead us to safety? Let's just take the long way round before we forget how to walk." Rowan makes a step in the direction of the way back, looking between each of his allies before deciding whether to burst into a sprint.
"I can say that it is safer than walking back. Besides, we have already manipulated fate once, and this path may give us an opportunity to manipulate it again." The seal-turned-human was dead set on the portal. "However, if you do not trust my choice, then you are free to go back with everyone else. I cannot stop you."
"Heh, that's quite rash of you, splitting up may be worse than any other decision. The mission should come first, at any rate." He winks towards Sojiro, waving to and accosting him. "Excuse me, sir. There seems to be a major conflict at hand." He points to the white portal "We have no idea where this could lead, but it has been suggested that it'll make the return trip easier. Our top priority is to see you to safety, so i'll escort you through the path of your choosing."
[Sojiro would look at the trio of survivors before looking back at his friends and then back at them.] .... What would make the trip easier? You're pointing at nothing, kid. [Sojiro would sigh. It doesn't seem like they can see the portal.]
"Ah, I see..." Prima nodded. That definitely meant this was important, then. "I'll go on in, then. If you wish, lead these gentlemen back to the base." She bowed to Rowan, then entered the portal.
Rowan turned towards the portal and stared at it for a few seconds before turning back to Sojiro and shrugging "My apologies, it must've been a mirage. Let's return to base so I may get diagnosed as to the state of my mental health." Rowan begins marching back on the trail leading to the base.
The Spell Punk was rather confused by both their actions. But more importantly Rowan decided to casually walk back to base and Prima just went off on her own to who knows where. "Oh for god sake why is everyone always rushing into danger... Leaves me to bail them out." Though a bit agitated by the actions of both splitting off. Seeing how Rowan had Boss's group and Prima was on her own it was probably in the best interest to follow her through the portal and maybe stop her from venturing to far solo into the unknown. And so the Spell Punk follows right after her.
[And so, the party splits up. Rowan lead the men back to the base, meanwhile Primarina and Spell Punk would go into the strange portal. It would quickly go from "0/2" to "2/2", after which, it completely disappears. Rowan, on his end, would safely get back to the base at exactly 05:30 pm, completing the mission. ]
