I know everything about the game and it's just Persona 5 with a couple of new things added on. At most it feels like a simple DLC, seeing as how the changes are very minimal. Of course there was new things added to the game, but that's really about it. The story is not done well, either, the plot twists were really bad, Haru's screentime was shafted yet again, and Kasumi is the only new romance. Plus Kasumi's valentine's scene is very obviously rushed. There are so many goddamn problems with it that it isn't funny. Also all the DLC together is 150 USD because Kasumi's outfits are not bundled with the other outfit DLCs.

I honestly don’t know what you were expecting, Atlas has shown themselves to have a MASSIVE hard on for remakes, and they usually don’t do much to the actual game (though P3 had a DLC tacked on in The Answer) and when they do it doesn’t go so well (IE Marie. Also The Answer). Still, Persona 5 was a good game, and Royal is basically Persona 5+ so if you haven’t gotten around to getting the original yet may as well go for it. It’s also worth noting that Atlas isn’t the only company to do this. Fromsoft released Dark Souls 2: Scholar Of the First Sin nearly 2 years to the day after Dark Souls 2 and they essentially just hit the shuffle button on enemy placement for it

Especially since the third semester is used entirely for the final palace and nothing else. not to mention kasumi feels more forced than marie imo

after a lengthy discussion on the site discord, we've reached a conclusion: p5r bad all in all, it's the same game for the most part, with an expansion added on for the full price. this is seeming to be the same as p4g, but much much worse due to it being on the same console as the original game, and only coming out 2 years later. any interest i had in it when it was first announced has vanished, and it seems to be a letdown. NOT TO MENTION ATLUS IS RELEASING IT IN THE WEST AT LEAST 5 MONTHS AFTER JP, KNOWING FULL WELL THAT SPOILERS WILL HAVE GOTTEN OUT BY THEN don't buy p5r, instead get p5s, since it's a completely new game with a completely new story, kasumi and akechi won't be in it, and it's releasing on switch as well thank you for attending my TED talk I can fully agree with you Elm I was really dissapointed with P5R's new content I was hoping that most of the new content would be fit into the story but in a nutshell Kasumi's character was ok I guess her main thing was that "HOO BOI SHE'S SO KIND ANSD SHE GOOD DANCE HPOOOOOOOOP" I like that there is more endings now but ever since Scramble revealed the whole epilouge thing I really did not care enough for P5R's new endings because I know that this aint EVEN CANON! The main problem is the price like why is it still $60! Ok I get the new music and new content but all of that is AFTER THE YALDY and StUF it could have been like $40 because the original is still a very good game and it's cheap too. and all the hype that was lead to this game it just kinda makes it feel all not worth it I am interested to see how Atlus USA handles the localization. Of course I'm going to buy it still but I just wish that they would have made it worth the $60 I am paying for. Don't get me started on the DLC that is a whole other topic for another day so good DAY!!!
