Cave of Mischief
*Around three days ago, a message was sent out to potential hunters with a mission. Apparently, a strange beast had been seen threatening hikers in a nearby forest and the patron had asked for help in clearing it out.* *If you decide to go, either by finding the request on an online message board, email or text from a friend or manager, heard about it from someone or just plain wandered into the area by pure coincidence, you'd see a shifty looking businessman in a purple suit standing outside the entrance to a cave muttering to himself.* C'mon. Where are these people?
after a while a girl, comes through the forest, finally arriving at the entrance to the woodland cave. She stands there silently for a while, just looking at the strange businessman. She didn't really think much of him, but there wasn't anyone else around. After taking a deep breath the girl shifts her weight around while asking. "U.. Um. Yes. Are you.. I mean. Is this the right place?" though the girl is careful to avoid eye contact, if one looked closely enough they might notice her slightly clouded eyes.
Apollo would find the post on a very secretive website, notifying a few of his friends including those in the occult club. He'd walk up to the strange business man, awkwardly waving as he approaches weirdly. "Huh? Don't you think it's a bit strange to be getting impatient when no one else has arrived yet? You're just early, dude." He'd feel a bit ashamed of his demeanor, relaxing slightly and dismissing his own comment. "Uh, sorry, professionalism isn't my forte. Let's just focus on the task at hand."
Bag? Check! Watch? Check! Badge? Check! The green-haired boy boldly approaches the cave. He greets the man casually. “Are you the one who made that request? Great! Gimme the details! The notice didn’t specify anything.” His manner of speaking is more of a demand than an inquiry. It’s like he’s going through the motions of something that’s sort of muscle memory to him, although with unwavering enthusiasm.
A young woman dressed in a simple black t-shirt and a pair of jeans would wander up to the group, smiling slightly while looking over at those gathered. "Ah, so I suppose something really is happening here. I'm Fate Testarossa, TSAB enforcer for what little that means around here." It isn't exactly like they have ownership of this city or planet after all, and chances are these people don't know who the TSAB even is. But she'll still use the title, just on the off chance. "You all know this could be dangerous, right? I'm fine with others coming along I suppose, but I don't want anyone who isn't prepared for danger risking themselves." She's mostly looking at Risako with that remark, but her voice is a calm and concerned one. Comforting hopefully, rather than seeming like some drill sergeant barking orders.
[Kazuo was hiding from the others, away among the trees, on top of them and hidden by the leaves just so he didn't have to deal with the rest.] "I expected a few people but... is that the new girl at school too...?" He thinks to himself. [He had his Rapier hanging from his hip, as well as his New Nambu in his pocket. Yawning, he would do his best to pay attention to what is being said, even if he might lost out on some important context all in all. For now, he planned only to watch and stay behind the group, merely following.]
Risako shrinks a little, trying to get further from the crowd. Only for the girl to freeze in place as she's called out. It would be rude not to say anything but they seemed really official and Risako hadn't really talked to that many people anyways. In a way they reminded her of her teacher but probably not as... Risako blinks, realizing she had just been standing there lost in thought for about thirty seconds while the other person was waiting for a reply. The girl gives a nervous smile and waves her hands in the air. "I.. I'm sorry ma'am I promise I won't get in the way. I'll just.. I mean. I... Need to get a little braver so I thought... A.. Anyways. I'll just.. Stay in the back if you'd prefer. Just um.. Let me come along if you don't mind.. Please?" Risako gives Fate a quick bow as she asks for permission. Even if that's not who she actually needs permission from, in any case. The girl takes a few slow, deep, breaths to calm herself while waiting for an answer.
Isla walked into the cave headfirst and smiling, looking right at the man in the purple suit. Isla had a small brown coat that reached her knees and a camera around her neck. She walked straight to the man and held out her hand. Hello! My name is Isla and came to take a couple pictures for my article! Pictures of the thing that's causing the trouble, um, what's your name?
Huh? Early you say? *The shifty Business man rolls his sleeve up and checks his watch, a stange looking thing with what like a greek Meander pattern around the wrist strap. His eyes seem to widden slightly.* Huh. Guess you've got a point. I was early. How about that? Ha ha. *The man smirks before looking at the group. He eyes everyone humming either approvingly or disaprovingly at the selection.* Well, I guess you kids'll do. Hey there. Names Dionysus. I'm a... Well, I guess you could say i'm a hunter of sorts. I suppose your here for the job I posted, right? *Dionysus looks at the cave entrance.* Well, some hikers saw a large beast around here and this is it's nest. Our job is to go in their and kill it. Seems like a deep cave mind. I'd be ready for anything. Questions?
Is taking pictures ok?
Fate chuckles and offers the girl a good natured smile, seems like a nice enough kid so there's no need to be rude... And as for the Enforcer's response, she'd speak up again in that same calming voice. "Don't worry about it, I'm fine with you coming along just... Look out for yourself okay? I definitely don't need worrying over, and if you want any help then feel free to ask." The girl is obviously trying despite being worried and spooked, so that makes it on Fate to try and watch out for her. At least in the older woman's eyes. As for their temporary employer, she'd speak up to him in a professional voice that's far more steely. "A few, what kind of creature is this? I assume you aren't exactly aware but anything could help. What kind of environment is this cave system as well, hot, cold, full of magical beasts? Non magical beasts? Old site where there used to be some kind of lab? Again, anything could help." She'd then go quiet, giving him a chance to respond. And for others to ask their own questions.
{Before proceeding onwards towards where everyone else is, the blue haired girl would immediately look up at the trees and shake her head in disapproval. Afterwards, she’d go and blend in with everyone else.} “Can I get better party members?” {Is what the girl in the back of the crowd texting on her phone would love to say. However, seeing as how some certain someone is trying to play themselves off as some stealth master, it’s better to keep quiet for the surprise to be more grand. Therefore, the girl stays in the back, all the noise that would emanate from the texting she’s doing on her phone and the tapping of her shoe is completely mute.}
"TSAB? Might've heard of that in passing." Apollo mutters before giving Risako a reassuring smile, turning back to Dionysus. "Dionysus? Isn't that the name of some Greek god, or something? Kinda funny considering my own name is Apollo. He was a...Roman god? The Romes based their pantheon on the Greeks, right? Welp, let's get to work." Apollo would start by carefully curling his left hand around the poke-kid's right, walking forward towards the entrance of the cave with the child like a guardian. "Anyone else hear a yawn? I better not catch any of you falling asleep!"
(edited by Sunna)
"E.. Alright.. Thank you ma'am." Risako gives Fate a few more quick bows, as if making more somehow made the gesture better, before straightening herself up again. They were just looking for information right now, right? That's good. It was a good chance to be useful. Admittedly Risako wasn't the best fighter, but if its information they need.... "P.. Please give me a second. I'll do my best, just.. I mean... I.. I'll explain in a bit." Risako takes a deep breath, closing her eyes momentarily before opening them once again. This time channeling some of her magic into her sight. She looks at the group around her, their secrets quickly becoming apparent as their true nature is revealed in terms a kid could understand. Tatsu would probably recognize this as Mage Sight. For example, when she notices Bardiche, Risako sees it glowing with energy, explained as something like the pure silver ring on the girl's right hand, but more self-contained and intelligent. More importantly, the girl focuses her attention to peer into the cave, hoping to get an understanding of its general formation as well as the entry area. In case the creature happens to be lurking close by.
"There goes the element of surprise. Hey Sana, how are you doing today? Don't tell them I'm around. I'll just tail behind the group because I'm curious." Kazuo thinks to himself, almost directly talking to Sana. [By all means, Sana has a knack for screwing inside his own mind. He figured he might as well just communicate if she was listening in. Still not moving from the tree, he would keep watching.] "I have your back, if you're into that." He thinks again.
“Ah, so it’s that kind of job! I’ll see what I can do! Hey, humans, let me know if you need advice! It’s a hero’s job to help the people.” Skymin just waltzes into the cave with his usual wide smile. He doesn’t really care what he’s going to find down there. He just has a job to do. If anything, he’s excited to see what this “monster” is.
Oh, an interview?! Isla ran to Skymin holding up a recorder she pulled out of her coat. Excuse me, but do you mind of I ask for some advice??
*Dionysus shrugs at Isla's questions.* I mean... does it have a flash? *Dionysus moves on to Fate's myriad of questions* Uh... it's a biped... no, that's two legs... uh, quadrupedal furry... thing? I .. I think? *Dionysus shakes his head, slightly confusing himself with his own ramblings.* It's a wolf, OK We're pretty sure it's Wolf. Just... just go with that. *Dionysus moves on to "Apollo". At learning the name, he gives them a strange look. He then shakes his head.* Apollo is the Greek version as well. And Dionysus is just a... a nickname. Yeah. I earned it in my career as a hunter and I just roll with it on jobs. *As Risako would scan her eyes over Dionysus and the tunnel, she would see that Dionysus is a pretty strong... something? It's like something is interfering with getting a full reading on the man. Other than that, she can detect that the cave system is large but can't get a clear reading on anything inside.* *Dionysus holds an arm out to stop Skymin going off on his own.* So. Everyone ready? *This was not an actual question, as proven by Dionysus entering the cave in front of the others.*
Huh? Isla turned away from Skymin and put away the recorder. She then pressed on her camera and nodded her head. I'll get a interview later. Putting it on night vision should still be a good enough photo for the front page... I can already hear the promotion already! Isla followed Dionysus and the group down the cave.
“Oh sure, I-“ Unfortunately, he’s interrupted by this Dai Nice guy. He pouts and kicks at the ground. He clearly wants to say something but he’s restraining himself out of the bit of politeness he has. Skymin keeps up this childish annoyance as he follows Dai Nice into the cave.
"Oh.. Um.. Alright?" She doesn't really understand most of what's happening, but Risako makes sure to stand a fair distance from Isla and Apollo. Their employer seemed a bit weird, but it didn't mean much. No one else seemed to have any weird feelings, not even the officer. So it'd probably be fine. Still, Risako has some apprehension. "Are you um... Sure this is the right place? I.. Didn't see anything."
Dionysus... An old name from earth myth, what a strange thing to be calling oneself but Fate won't judge for it she supposes. F:"Bardiche, ready up. And try to run a scan of our own on this place before we get too far in." B:" Yes sir, begining wide area search!" It's a spell that normally gets used by Nanoha, but Fate's learned it over the years. Being able to get a grip on places comes in handy, and the group would find a few dozen orbs of mana rushing past them further into the cave. In short, the aim is to create something of a map and gather data on whatever creatures they find. But there's no telling how well it'll work. Fate would also now be holding a black axe with a gleaming blade of yellow energy in her hands, dressed in a militay looking uniform with a white coat and blue dress uniform under it. At which point she follows behind their 'leader' with eyes darting around. As for Risako's question, that would cause Fate to be rather curious again. "Hmm... So your sensory magic of some kind failed then? Interesting, wonder if mine will do any better. it's possible that something or someone is cloaking this place on purpose, a spell designed to defend against detection, anti magic devices, a naturally formation that makes finding things with Mana hard... Lotta possible things that could do this other than just nothing being here." And that's only a few guesses, of course no creature is entirely possible too. So Fate is rather curious what kind of feedback her own spell will get, to say the least.
Apollo pets Risako on the back, showing no sign of awareness of her power yet possessing a resistence to it regardless. "Aight, come on guys, this monster isn't gonna hunt itself! Risako, Fate, stick close to me. I have a passive buff that gives me +25% DEF per cute girl adjacent to me." With that said, he would begin following behind his employer.
“You started getting cheesy so I tuned out before I heard something stupid.” {Sana says to Kazuo mentally and with a dry tone. Though she was there for all his bad jokes, the girl decides to merely roll her eyes and sweep her bangs to the side. She still stayed completely silent, intentionally staying at the back as she texted. With nobody watching her, she turned around and looked at the tree Kazuo was in with another blank stare. Sana holds up her phone and shows a random internet picture that’s supposed to be vaguely funny. If he’s stupid he’d give his position away.}
Fate would just stare at Apollo, blank faced and slightly annoyed before speaking up in a 'neutral' tone. "... Are you trying to flirt with me Apollo? If so I'm gonna have to shoot you down for many reasons, the fact I'm happily married being merely one of them." She doesn't move away from him for now though, despite the annoyance. The boy is sticking close to the front which is exactly where Fate needs to be in a time like this anyway, much to her chagrin at this exact moment.
"Oh um.. Y.. Yes.. S.. Sorry I couldn't help. ma'am." Risako briefly apologizes before getting patted on the back. The girl practically jumps out of her skin, taking a few quick steps away from Apollo. He started saying some weird things she didn't really get. But she didn't want to get close to him anyways. Instead Risako chooses to stay a little bit behind Fate, just as she promised. "I.. Guess we should go in then?"
[Seeing as everyone already moved into the cave, Kazuo would jump down from the tree, slowly rising up as he takes a closer look at the girl's phone.] "I have no idea why I thought you humor would be better than this." He thinks to Sana. "So you can be normal." [He smirks, letting a small chuckle escape him. There's no way he could allow Sana to know this was because of the picture, so instead, he focused his mind into him messing with her so she thought he was laughing at her instead.] "Why are you here, anyways? Not because of me, is it?" [He would keep both hands inside his pockets as he slowly walks while he looks at the group moving ahead, making sure not to make a sound as he does. Such is the reason why he is only allowing Sana to hear him. Not that he has a choice in the matter anyways.]
*As everyone enters the cave, Dionysus pulls out a flash light and shows everyone the way. Fate's scan comes back, showing they were entering a long tunnel winding down below into a relatively large, open area then into a far, far smaller tunnel and a smaller open area. Strangely, no life signs appeared along the way either. Like there was nothing in the cave system to begin with. And yet, as you keep going, faint thudding echoes from deeper with in. Dionysus frowns.* I'd be careful if I were you. She... erm... these wolves. They're known to be crafty bitches. Watch your front and your back, you hear?
(edited by -Dionysus-)
“Yep!” Skymin’s listening. Probably. He’s just living in the moment. He smiles at how his voice echoes in the cave. “Hey Dai Nice, do you know this wolf? Was she a friend? Or maybe...?” He laughs and drops the topic abruptly. Time to focus on adventuring again. March onward, humans!
Isla grabbed her camera and began to take a couple pictures. If nothing is living inside a big cave like this then it makes you feel like they were made really recently. Something this big? Recently? Isla's hat popped up and almost fell off when the faint sounds were heard. She pushed it back down before it fell. Whew that was close... sudden noises are gonna be annoying. You really know a lot about these wolves for someone who couldn't really say what they looked like Dionysus Isla narrowed her eye at him with a smile.
No life signs... But she can hear movement coming from up ahead, and their 'boss' gets more suspect with every word he says. She'd reply to Risako before dealing with that though. "You don't need to be sorry, and there's no need for being so formal either. Just call me Fate please, it's not like I'm your commander or anything. But trying to figure things out is fine, I wanna know what we're dealing with anyways, you did good! Miss...? " She realizes she doesn't know the girl's name yet, so might as well ask for it. And then there's Dionysus who she'd speak to in that professional voice once again. "You started to say 'she'... Is this so-called creature something or someone you know, Mr. Dionysus? If so, I wouldn't exactly be pleased with information being withheld from us... But yes of course, keeping wary is just good tactics." Unlike the strange humanoid being, the Enforcer isn't just dropping it. Picking up little details and pressing people on them is second nature to her after all.
Apollo would look back to Fate, taking offense at her tone. "Surely you're mistaken. My battle capabilities have nothing to do with my intrest in women. The only person that truly intrests me is my baby sister, after all. However, if you intend to shoot me down, I won't allow you to without a fight." Misinterpreting Fate's use of words as a threat, Apollo's summons his axe while walking and casually tilts it in Fate's direction, glaring in anticipation of her own attack. "Although, I'd advise against making such a bold threat in the first place."
"Oh um.. Sorry M.. I mean.. Fate." Risako meaninglessly apologizes again as she follows after Fate, letting the adult do most of the talking. Though it would be rude not to respond and introduce herself "Risako.. My name's Risako Kohiyo.. I uh.. Sort of snuck out. So I'd appreciate it if you didn't tell anyone." her father didn't really know much about magic or anything and Risako would rather keep it that way if possible. No telling how upset they might be if they learned Risako was leaving without permission
... The woman just groans out loud at Apollo's idiocy, he's never heard that turn of phrase? Geez, she'd shake her head at the boy while speaking in an annoyed but clearly not ready for violence tone. "I... It's an expression, it just means I'm not interested if you're flirting... Which I'll take on your word for now that you weren't. So we're cool man." As for Risako, the woman would wince at that while nodding. Sounds like Nanoha when she used to be younger... Though that family took the revelation shocking well in the end, she can't exactly say much bad about her in-laws really. "Ah, I see Riskao. That's fine, I would suggest telling them someday sooner than later though. Keeping secrets like that is tough, and I'm sure your family would understand. I am kinda curious what kind of magic you're using though, if you don't mind my asking." No Device, but that ring seems to contain the girl's mana... And more, does she even realize what it really means? Bardiche did while scanning, but who knows about the girl. Who would also find herself hearing the Enforcer's voice in her head for a moment. Oh and, in case we get seprated or anything for some reason. Do you know how to do telepathy? It's a really simple spell if not, assuming our magics are even remotely comparable. Just a good way to keep in touch during battles.
My magic? It’s umm... The magic kind. Risako responds to Fate telepathically, both to not openly discuss her magic in a group and also to prove that she knows how to do it. Though it was a little unexpected that Fate could do it too. The girl seems to visibly relax a little Though Kyubey said it only worked between Magical Girls. Does that mean.. I mean. Are you a Magical Girl too?
"Turn... of phrase?" Apollo would merely freeze in confusion before un-summoming his axe, awkwardly chuckling in response. "Y-yes, I know what those are!" He exclaims this as if it's something to be proud of. "So... how we gonna approach this, guys? Anybody got a strategy?"
Magical girl is... A realative term, I'm a Midchildan Mage. Though my style of spellcasting also incorporates element of Belkain Magic, mostly in the intergration of a cartridge sy- no, I'm getting off track. My point is that telepathy is a pretty common form of magic across most systems in any given universe. Linking em up isn't hard with a little effort, which Bardiche, my device, is programmed to do. And what does 'Magical Girl' mean to you within your system of magic Risako? I can't exactly be sure if I count without detail, though I expect I'm not one. Her face is rather curious at this point, obviously unsure about the nature of this girl's power. Whatever Risako is, she clearly doesn't have much of a serious education in modern day wide spread magic of any kind, so maybe a more personal focused power which needs little true understanding?
“Strategy? We just find it and beat it up! I’ve got some stuff I can chuck at it if it looks tough!” Skymin shrugs. He’s the type to roll with whatever happens. Besides, with a party this big, things should be a breeze! He nods to himself, feeling proud about his preparations.
Risako's eyes glaze over a bit as Fate starts getting into how her magic works. It most certainly wasn't anything Risako had any expertise in, but she's at least gotten decent at paying attention and pretending it makes sense. umm.. well.. Basically.. It just means I met Kyubey, made a wish, and now I fight these things called Witches whenever they show up. I mean... We shouldn't have to worry about those... I would feel a Witch for sure. Witch obviously being a term she can't really describe. The girl looks about the walls as the group continues onward, making sure to stay a safe distance behind Fate in case something jumped out. Oh but I'm not completely clueless. Suzuki-sensei taught me a lot so if.. I mean if you don't mind... I can at least help.. A little bit.
{Sana flips her hair, taking pride in the fact that this stolen internet pic is something that idiots would like.} "I didn't come FOR you. I came to get some free entertainment, because I'm bored again. But of course some weirdo like you would eat this shit up. Now shut up and get in here so you can so you can surprise the scooby-doo gang." {The picture on her phone would be the equivalent to modern internet humor, something that can't really be processed but the brain somehow still thinks it's funny despite it. Though now that he's down from the tree, she'd immediately move away and back towards everyone in the group silently. Making no sound despite every one of her mannerisms being loud.}
[Kazuo shrugs as he continues into the cave and away from the group, far enough not to be noticed but close enough to hear their loud words.] "As you say, princess." He thinks. [Kazuo knew her enough at this point. Even if he couldn't read her mind like she does his, he still knew what she was probably thinking about.]
Interesting... Tell me more later, if you don't mind. And if you wanna know more about my kind of magic I wouldn't mind trying to teach you at all, but this isn't the time. And I appreactice the effort Riskao, it isn't a problem at all! "A strategy is a good idea, I suppose we should talk about what we can actually add to this ragtag team at the least before rushing in. I specailize in high speed melee and flight, though I can fight on the ground fine if needed too. I've got a few ranged attacks as well for a fallback, but my best work is done right in the enemy's face and hacking away with my weapons. Defenses aren't something I should be relied on for though, more of a dodger than a blocker. Who's next?" She'd look around at the group after finishing up that brief statement, it isn't a massive amount of details, but it's enough for them to have a basic impression of how she'll function when violence breaks out. And that's all they can hope for on such short notice.
O.. Oh. Alright. Thank you.. I'll follow your lead. Risako nods to Fate, listening to their general abilities. She wasn't going to have to worry about it anyways, but it'd be rude not to follow along. After Fate is done, Risako shakily raises her hand "U.. Um.. Basically.. I mean.. I can 'see' the world around me, interpreting stuff so I can understand it after seeing something. And well.. Right. If a fight breaks out I'd really rather be further away. I mostly do chains and binding and stuff. I mean, I can attack too but I don't think its a good idea in such an enclosed space." unless they entered some kind of pocket dimension or something. Any of Risako's larger attacks would be pretty likely to trigger a cave-in, which would be disasterous. So the girl's relegated to support
Hmm. Well, I mean. It seems to be a female wo- *Dionysus cuts himself off and stops, raising a hand to stop the party. Whether they do or not, Dionysus slowly raises his light. In the tunnel are three towering figure stuck in an awkward squat from the low roof of the cave tunnel, two in the back slightly shorter than the one in the front. If Fate and Risako are still scanning, they would only now be able to detect them, like something was hiding them from view until now.* Aw, I was worried about that... *Dionysus mutters so quietly only those closest to him could here. He then raises his voice.* Laesta-Woah! *Before he can finish naming the giants, the large on in front swings at him. Dionysus dodges under the giant and runs further in, coaxing the two behind to lumber after him. In front of you is the remaining, largest one blocking the narrow cave tunnel. It glares down at you with hungry eyes and licks it's lips. Seems it thinks of you as an afternoon snack.* -Battle Begin. Player Phase- Enemy: Laestragonian OOC: Time for actual combat. For my convenience, please add an action with move name, element of the move (Fire, Physical, Almighty, etc) and the severity of the move (Light, Medium, Heavy, etc) Also add number of times hit and any added effect the move may have. It helps me keep track of how the fights going. I think I can trust you guys to keep track of your own HP values this time right? K. Thanks. Bye.
“Oh right, you should know your teammates. Forgot ‘cause I’m used to adventuring with Rai only. Me! Call me Skymin! I can fly and I got nice grass and flying moves! Anything that lives in a cave, I can handle easy!” Skymin puts his hands on his hips and declares this boldly. His “wings” spread out to make himself look more important. ...Of course, after such an awesome speech, the introductions get crashed. Skymin glides backwards and closes his eyes. A faint green light surrounds him. Action: Growth (atk buff on self)
(edited by Skymin)
The Enforcer would stare her enemy, eyes narrowing as her Device begins scanning the thing. One of its main functions is to anaylze the target's mana and general defenses to try and find weakpoints after all, but that'll be done in the background. Her main course of action for the moment is putting this thing on the defense, or at least trying to do so. B: "Haken Form, Haken Slash!" The Mage doesn't need a wingspan to fly, and she's got good enough control to easily simply burst towards the massive beast's head while her device transforms into a deadly scythe which has a large amount of magical energy composing its blade. Her speed is enough of a blur that keeping up would be rather tricky even for those with speed beyond most humans, though she can't say for sure how quick this creature is of course. But it would find a blur of four reasonably powerful blows aimed towards its eyeballs, trying to impale them and blind it. Action: Medium physical four times to the eyes.
"So much for introductions. Skymin, let me be your shield. You don't look like your made for taking punishment." Following up on his promise, Apollo stands in front of the kid and summons his Axe, holding it up to the enemy threateningly. While not possessing the ability to fly, he could burst himself up into the air with the force of darkness pulsing behind him and rise to the enemy's head level. He plunges his axe straight down towards the enemy's face, aiming to slash out thier eyes. Helm Splitter (Moderate physical damage with a chance of significantly reducing the enemy's defense)
"O.. Oh.. Um... N.. Now?" Risako jumps, not really prepared to fight immediately. The girl takes a deep breath, focusing on the silver ring adorning her right hand as a faint glow begins to encompass her. Moments later the girl's outfit changes to a long, flowing silver dress, adorned with ribbons for a cutesy addition to an otherwise elegant outfit. For a weapon the girl has a long, golden staff adorned with a dazzling silver gem, shaped like a diamond. It took a little bit, but soon the girl would be ready Action: Transformation - getting ready to fight.
"Seems like they are about to fight something. Doesn't seem to be their target just yet." He thinks to Sana. [Kazuo would try to get a clear look at the thing, but as far as he knew it was only a giant and then another two targets behind. Within such small confines, there wasn't much he could do to help, but maybe he could prepare something.] "You can attack from a distance without people ever knowing it was you. What do you think?" [Kazuo would only prepare himself for now. He couldn't take a shot and he was not going to get too close anyways. Instead, he would focus on his right arm as it becomes covered by his usual Awakening Gauntlet: Clawed metal fingers; a metal layer on the back of his hand; a heavy manacle-like wrist protector from the which a long blade as long as his arms grows backwards, like a reverse grip blade; 4 plaques that move alongside his breathing on his on top of each other; all of this covering the black leather-like material going from his hand up to his upper arm.] "Nikkou Storm, let's go." [Kazuo's forearm gill-like protection would open and release a strange mist which would slowly move towards the rest of the group and giants, covering the area as if it was dust but not doing anything yet, not even getting in the way of vision. It would be impossible to tell it was coming from above too.] Action: Nikkou Storm (Releases Mist around the area. No effect.)
Isla backed away from the group with a wide grin. She turned on flash and pointed the camera to the wolf. Oh this thing looks cool! Action: Camera Flash: Light Holy damage. (Can cause blindness for a split second of the enemy is looking at it.)
"Thanks Captain Obvious, I didn't know that this cave adventure wasn't for finding some fossils and getting harassed by bats." {Sana wouldn't help anyone but herself. Which includes Kazuo, who isn't setting up a vibration field, how shocking. Instead, there's another technique that seems to be pulled out the ass with no rhyme or reason. That being said, she could hear everyone else in the group trying to fight right now, one of them even doing a Kazuo and saying the technique name out loud.} "I think that you need to stop saying those stupid names for your little moves." {From the cave, she uses Gregorith's eye as a source of vision, just for her. Two more severed eyeballs pop up beside her as she walks slightly forward, making no sound. The eyes all serve to enhance her vision, seeing through the darkness of the cave without even needing a light source of her own. With her selfish preperations made, Sana follows Kazuo as he makes his glorified smoke machine activate inside of the cave. What a great surprise.} Action Watchful eyes: (Summons two bewildered eyes. Grants vision to Sana. Currently only Sana.)

-Enemy Phase-
*The combonation of Fate, Isla and Apollo striking the giant in the head makes it step back, holding a hand over it's eyes and grumbling, staggering around a little* *It stops, regaining it's balance before growling. It's growl then turns into a bellow, echoing down the corridor and whipping up lose rocks across the caves that may scratch at you. The sent of rotting flesh fills the air that may make your stomach weak.* Action Laestragonian: Roar (Medium Wind Damage to all foes. Low chance of SICK. Those inflicted by SICK have their attack and defence halved)
-Player Phase-
Risako takes a deep breath, slamming her staff into the ground to steady herself as the wind blows through. Its gross, but the girl's not going to let something like this stop her. Not yet anyways. Now that the fight's started Risako's a fair bit calmer. Though the area might be covered in mist, it doesn't really mean much to Risako's magic eyes. So, the girl begins her small chant "May the light of justice become a chain to ensnare the darkness." Once her spell is complete, golden chains emerge from the ground around the giant, quickly coiling around and attempting to tie its legs together to keep it from moving for as long as Risako can hold it Action: Binding chains - severe speed debuff and setting them up...
Isla slid back from the wind, happy that she wore a coat because it blocked out the worst of the rocks. Damn, I missed that shot! Getting a picture of it roaring woul- Isla fell to her knees and covered her sensitive nose after she smelled the rotting flesh. Gah! I feel like I'm going to throw up... These are one of the times where having a strong nose goes against yous.
"It's necessary I name and call each and every one of them. It's not something you would understand." He thinks, yet again. [It's all about style to him, not to mention it helped my visualize what he was going to do simply. By giving his moves and the different things they can do a name, he can, without thinking, go into them with no effort. Like learning every card in your deck, it was necessary for his style.] "With so many tools, you can't just rely on brute force to save me each time. Lucky for me, most people around here only need you to hit them hard enough." [They were now getting attacked. But being so far away, it meant he could merely cover himself to protect his eyes from the dust. If this wasn't over soon, then the entire thing could fall on them. Even so, he could take advantage of this.] "Shouldn't have done that." [Kazuo would close his right hand as the mist around the area concentrates around the giant's figure and then have it turn into intense, focused currents of winds capable of cutting through flesh and rock with relative ease. Only the enemy would see itself affected by this. Hopefully the enemy's own wind attack would also add to this.] Action: Nikkou Storm (Medium Physical + Wind to 1. Uses up all the mist in the area.)
The Device would change its focus, magic flowing through Fate's weapon automatically as the winds begin to form. Dodging seems... Tricky at the moment, so she'll simply allow her weapon to perform another of its automated functions. B: "Defenser Plus!" The gleaming scythe would emit a barrier of mana around Fate, gleaming yellow power engulfing her and leaving the attack far weaker. It isn't enough to leave her totally unharmed, but it blocks the majorty of it and prevents the annoying side effect from occuring. Fate herself would speak out to the group, telepathically offering a minor plan to them. Well, the ones here anyway so not Kazuo or Sana. And she isn't sure who can respond besides Risako. Large creatures usually have a hard time getting back up, I see what you're going for Risako. Mind trying to help me knock this thing down, Apollo? She doesn't feel the need to explain the mental speech at the moment, and instead would focus upon rushing downward and slamming her Device into the chains Risako had created. Magical energy interfacing with them and attempting to reinforce the girl's spell, at the same time she would yank Bardiche backwards hard, aiming to pull it down to the ground with inhuman strength. Which might not be enough on her own, but hopefully someone else will help out there. The sudden wind storm attacking it for reasons unknown might be useful too, though it's worrying. Action: This really isn't a spell but, if it hits it'd probably make the speed loss worse. And more importantly is an attempt to get this thing on the ground. HP: 97%
"I don't know, that sounds a lot like an excuse for how much of a nerd you are, as well as inflating your own ego." {Sana doesn't really react to the roar of the giant, instead putting her bewildered eyes in front of her and slightly covering her own face. As the smell would've normally gotten to her, it's counteracted by a purple aroma, the scent of perfume.} "Not so much of brute force as it is letting everyone else do the work. Getting involved with you clowns is way too much of a risk for my aesthetic. I literally only planned to do nothing just to watch." {Her phone rings in her pocket. She doesn't try to summon back the eyes in order to immediately try and look at the giant more. With a quick glance, she smirks and then chuckles as if she was sent some modern internet humor herself.} "And watch I will." {Sana snaps her fingers, and a quick vibration is emitted similar to a mere fraction of an earthquake. Her presence lingers, but that's because of the eye left in her place. A simple, mindless, severed eye unlike the previous ones. The darkness of the cave would make it near impossible for one to know that she actually left the scene, leaving only the eye to watch the following scenes unfold.} Action: Snap - Go-Ho M. Stalking - (Summons watchful eye. Does nothing but watch the events. Only goes away when enemy dies or when it dies.)
Naturally, Apollo would descend to the ground after his opening gambit, landing quite a ways back from the giant. He looks at the chains, smirking and clearing his throat as he dramatically reaches his right arm towards the enemy. "Ah, ah yes, my gallant companion has effortlessly immobilized our foe." He then notices the effect of Fate's telepathy, looking to his left and right in confusion. "Uh, alright, I guess?" Apollo would stare condescendingly at the giant and all rocks would fall to the ground or revolve around him before hitting anyone. Following up on this maneuver, he manifests a cave-in on the giant, causing a cascade of hard rock to irritate and barrage the giant's front and exert a force pushing them backwards. Action: Specific Combat Maneuver (Heavy Earth damage + chance of knockdown) HP: 95%
Skymin’s eyes snap open as he’s blown down to the ground. Though he can fly, he’s still a creature weak to wind. He sneezes from the dust he kicked up and thus is less focused on the sickening smell. “Owowow... H-huh? Who’s there?” He looks around for the source of the mental voice but he only has a vague guess. He picks himself off the ground and points at the giant. “You want it knocked down? ‘Kay! Air Slash!” He brings his hand down and cuts the very air itself. A blade of wind shoots towards the giant’s face. Action: Air Slash (Medium Wind damage, small chance to stun or whatever equivalent is not game-breaking to our dear host)
-Enemy Phase-
*The Giant staggers back from the barrage of Wind and Earth. It growls preparing to charge forwards beut finds itself held down by Risako's chains. It pulls at them, further weakened by Fate's spell, growing increasingly frantic. After a while, it bellows again, before using all it's might to pull itself free. However, doing so takes everything it has. It pants heavily, slowly raising to it's feet.* Enemy Actions Unique Passive: Legacy of the Gigantomachia (Increases Laestragonian's attack and grants it one more action per turn when it's health drops below 50%) Turn wasted due to being trapped Turn wasted due to breaking free of the trap
-Player Phase-
Pulling itself back up is... Annoying, but she can handle this. Right then, hit hard and fast I'd say. I don't want this thing having a chance to live much longer since it's seemingly going even harder, let's finish this. With her foe distracted by their actions for a moment, she has a bit of time to prepare a more deadly assault. Her outfit would burst into another form, a tight black body suit that's seemingly far less armored, and her weapon appears as a massive greatsword made of burning yellow energy while a clicking sound echoes out from it. B: " True Sonic Form, Riot Zanber Calamity!" The vast expense of magical energy, the compressed mana she's pumping into it via her cartridge system, all in all it's a simply because Fate wants this thing dead sooner than later by far. "Jet Zanber!" Her speed was fast before, but now it's an impossible blur that's easily double her prior state. Enough that the beast would likely have no chance of evading the trio of incredbily powerful blows rushing from her sword which vents Mana wildly while elongating itself to go through more and more of the giant's body. It does have the unforntatue side effect though of leaving her a bit winded from the heavy amount of Mana being used in such a massive burst of attacking, she's left panting slightly in the air for several seconds after the attack concludes so hopefully it will be dead or distracted before that can become an issue. Actions: True Sonic Form, greatly raises speed evasion and attack power, signafitly lowers defense. Jet Zanber: Heavy physical three times, ignores enemy defenses and resistances, except blocking.
"I feel like they've got it now. No need for me to do anything anymore." [Kazuo could easily tell Sana was somehow gone, even if he could feel something besides him. He sighs, wondering why she even bothered showing up. He wondered if she was checking in on him wondering he was thinking about her. That's a weird thing to say.] "You know, you are not as annoying as you were a while before. I think I'm getting used to you watching me all the time." [It was such a weird thing to admit, but then again, it's not like he had much to hide from the person who keeps reading his mind and has seen who knows what, even in his own private moments. The idea creeps him out still but not as badly as he figured it should.] "Why are you like that? All aggressive with words and such."
"Ah, that might work. Let me try." Apollo either forms eight stalagmites out out of the ground or levitates ones already present. He would propel these formations towards the chest of the enemy. While not being overall inaccurate, things just had a way of occasionally going wrong for Apollo, and a barrage such as this would be less likely to have every strike hit its mark as opposed to a single concentrated attack, although the general effect would be much more devastating in the end. Stalactite (Stalagmite) Rain (8x medium damage to one foe)
“Alright, I’m on it! Energy Ball!” Green light forms in the palm of his hand. It swirls and grows into a basketball-sized sphere. Skymin smirks and points at the giant, sending the ball flying to explode in its face. He could use another grass technique, but there’s too many people here. Action: Energy Ball (high Earth(?) damage, 10% chance of lowering magic resistance)
R.. Right. Thank you. Risako's relieved to see her little binding trick rewarded, though the giant wasn't going down yet. She holds the chains as long as she can, but in terms of physical strength the giant is obviously way stronger. Risako pauses to take a deep breath Fate was the only one actually close to the creature right now, so as long as Risako aims low it was safe to attack. "May the light shine upon the just and pierce the darkness." With this chant, Risako focuses her energy into the crystal at the tip of her staff, before taking aim at the lower part of the giant's chest, launching a single, brilliant beam at the creature Action: Shining beam - heavy Holy damage at Giant
Isla walked back and pointed her camera at the monster again. I don't need to fight that thing, since it's all the way over there and everyone is using ranged attacks I'll probably be hit anyway.
-Enemy Phase-
*Despite the wild bluster from the Laestragonian, it's body proves just as susceptible to sharp objects and lasers than any normal person. It staggers backwards and collapses to the ground with a loud thud. The giant has been slain.*
-Battle End-
*With the giant dead, nothing stops you going after Dionysus, who headed further into the cave with two of the Laestragonians on his tail.*
Well, let's go! I'm getting that interview! Isla hopped over the dead wolf and charged inside the cave.
Skymin just flies over the body (which he deems just knocked senseless) to catch up with Isla. “Are you sure those giants will let you get an interview?” He’s completely missing the point but he knows Dai Nice is in a bind so he’s tagging along anyway. It’s a hero’s job to make sure everyone is safe!
Apollo would alight upon seeing the success of the team. He flashes a proud smile at Risako, revering in her prowess. "Nice job, Sako-chan! That was some impressive work! Now, let's get going, the forces of evil await us!" He would then attempt to use his divine ability of aggressive handholding on Risako, forcing her deeper into the cave like a child, simply walking over the giant's body.
Of course, I mean, the fact that I even tried to talk to it is good for publicity. If it's bad then I'll kill it. If it turns out it's actually good, then I'll make sure we find a middle ground. Isla fiddled with her camera and and stretched her arms. She smiled at Skymin sweetly. If everyone else wants to kill it even if it's good, then I'll just make sure you they can't.
"Nothing, huh?" [Kazuo sighs, shrugging. He didn't really feel like following around anymore. Especially since Sana just showed up and then left; not only that, he didn't really feel like getting involved with that group, especially if Apollo was going to be there.] "You almost got me killed last time, I'm not giving anyone a second chance for that." [He allows his Awakening Gauntlet to go away as he turns around and decides to leave.]
Fate would sigh, stepping between Risako and Apollo. The girl clearly isn't gonna be comfortable with physical contact from someone she doesn't even know, so Fate would attempt to cut that off before it can even occur. It doesn't take her more than a fraction of a second to move there after all. "We should probably keep moving, but I don't know about dragging anyone along Apollo. Now let's just... Try and figure out more about what's going on here." She still thinks their employer is shady as hell, even while heading forward and transforming back into her more armored slower barrier jacket with her weapon held in it's axe form again. And sticking close to Risako of course, since apparently some people want to drag around anxious children, the girl in question would hear Fate speaking mentally as well. Sorry about that, some people really don't have much tact. I figured you wouldn't wanna be dragged around though.
"Oh.. Um.. Pl. Please..." while Risako tries to stutter out an excuse to avoid getting dragged along, Fate steps in to actually protect the kid. Risako lets out a sigh of relief. Letting the adult handle the situation as she stays a safe distance behind Fate Th.. Thank you. I'm not really used to crowds so I um.. sorry.
"Gah!" Apollo was caught off guard by both the sudden halting of his actions and the apparent impoliteness of them. Rather than overreact, however, he'd merely stand back and start playing with some rocks. His emotional state would be reflected in his current enthusiam for the mission. "You guys go on, then. I'll hang back here for a bit."
*Slightly further in to the tunnel, you find Dionysus leaning against one side of the tunnel no worse for wear. Against the other wall are the other two Laestragonians, one clutching it's stomach in pain and the other with a heavy blush and a dopy grin, both incapacitated.* I can't believe she brought along some of Laestryagon's brats. Dammit, messenger. Your information only said it was that damnable beast guarding her. *He stretches.* Well, I guess I'd better go help those kids. They're probably... *Upon seeing the group, he trails off.* Huh. Done already. Not gonna lie. Didn't expect that. Ah well. Let's get a move on. That wolf should be nearby I'd reckon. *Dionysus turns on his heel and proceeds further into the cave, assuming no-one tries to stop him. According to Fate's map, they're nearing the large chamber in the cavern's depths.*
(edited by -Dionysus-)
Isla pointed her camera at Dionysus and snapped a picture with a smile. Lead the way! Isla stayed behind him and started to bite the tips on her fingers.
“Huh. They look too out of it for an interview. Oh well. Bye giants!” He hovers right behind Isla after waving goodbye to the defeated giants. He crosses his arms and gives Dai Nice a big smile. “See, we were fine! There’s a hero like me on our side so it was a piece of cake! Is that the last of them? Or is the wolf coming up soon?”
Fate's eyes would narrow slightly as she overhears the man muttering... A name? He knows something else, doesn't he. "Laestryagon's brats? That's a name for sure, mind explaining who's it is and why you know them... Or why one of those beasts appears to be drunk?" Dionysus, greek god of many things but... Wine is among them, or maybe just mind altering things in general? Fate isn't sure she only knows the myths vaguely, but there's a connection to intoxication. Perhaps it's just why he has this title, but she can't shake the feeling something is off. "Also according to the map Bardiche has created, we appear to be nearing a large centeral chamber of this place. If heavy opposition will be anywhere, it's there. And my curiosity aside, I do think these creatures seem dangerous... " Her misgivings and suspicions would be more accurate, but she'll refrain from outright accusing for now. Instead begining to move forward once again after giving their 'boss' a chance to respond.
Risako sort of nods along with the others, perfectly fine leaving Apollo behind as she continues following Fate like some sort of duckling. They don't really have anything to add to the conversation, just continuing along while looking around for danger
*Dionysus sighs* Don't you keep up on your greek mythos? Laestragonians, sons and daughters of Lystragon, son of Poseidon. In the old days, they stuck to Ortygia though eventually they migrated to Charon's shores with the rest of the ancient monsters. Or so the myths say. As for why the giant got drunk, here's your answer. *Dionysus pulls open his jacket. lining the insides are a number of pockets each filled with a differant bottle.* They didn't call me "Dionysus" cause I like a good drink. I'm a bit of a potion master, so to speak. I create conconctions that turn into vapour. This vapour can cause various effects, like causing the effects of drunkeness or just skip straight to the hangover. Speaking of which... *As he walks, Dionysus pulls out a small bottle of light green mist. He opens it and sprays it around. Everyone feels a bit lighter. The parties health has been fully recovered and all status ailments recieved have been cured. Dionysus puts the bottle away.* As for the reason we're actually here, there may be some bitch who own's the wolf we're hunting. And that bitch may have stolen something from... a group I'm a part of. That part of the mission is a bit more confedential than I'd like, so, obviously, I weren't just gonna spill it in a memo. But you lot seem to handle yourselves well enough.
The young woman shrugs slightly, greek myth isn't exactly her area of expertise but that... Well it doesn't explain how he knew these things were related to them, but sure she'll run with it. "I see. Fair enough then I suppose. And I can't imagine you would want things being stolen spread around everywhere, like say in the news." Her eyes briefly flicker towards the reporter, even if the man is suspect as hell there isn't any need to be a pain for him on purpose. And with her questions... Somewhat answered, the Enforcer would simply shrug a bit and prepare to head off towards this main chamber. "I'd expect an ambush up ahead, the next area looks pretty big so it'd be a good place to have various forces. If this woman is thinking tactically at all, it'll be filled with opposition."
"So um.. If we just.. Get the thing back. It'll be good?" Risako nervously asks, still staying a little bit behind Fate. Her voice is pretty small, but she tries to speak up enough for Dionysus to hear her. The potion makes Risako feel a bit better. But she didn't really like wolves. Especially if it was a really big one.
“Easy! I dunno if I can get the thing back but I can handle the wolf part! I just want it to show up already...” He pouts a little. How hard is it to find a wolf in a cave? Speaking of caves, he tries to remember what time it is. It was sunny when he entered but he can’t keep time by the sky in here. That’ll be important for his strategy.
Apollo would now stick to Kazuo's old role, staying a bit behind the party but not really participating much in the mission anymore. He felt he'd be better off as a reserve unit. Besides, he wanted to save himself some embarrassment, not really feeling comfortable just leaving entirely. So, he merely just awkwardly drags himself along, kicking any rock he sees on the way.
Isla nodded her head and started to write something down on a notepad.
Glad we're all in agreement. Now then. *Dionysus and the others step into the room with Apollo hanging around the doorway. Dionysus turns his flashlight off. It's uneeded. The room is covered wall to wall with a number of glittering gemstones that seem almost strategically placed to light up the room. On the other end is an open path to the smaller inner sanctum Fate detected. Suspicously, nothing seems to be in the room. You are free to proceed onwards. Dionysus himself pauses in his advancement, slowly eyeing the walls of the room though doesn't say anything.*
Isla's hat nearly popped off her head again before Isla pushed it in place. She felt her hair on end and squinted her eyes. Something isn't right here. Probably. Isla hanged back and closed her eyes. She focused everything on her nose to try and see if anything was out of the ordinary.
The woman would pause as well, absently looking around as about 4 orbs of mana form from her Device absently, their purpose obviously being to quickly scan through the room once again. She was able to get more detail after getting closer before after all, so hopefully that'll be true again... "Risako, could you try and scan this place? Hopefully being further in will let you get some more details, I don't trust an open room like this being so absent of anything dangerous. And please, nobody go rushing off." Her grip on Bardiche tightens slightly, eyes narrowing while looking around the worryingly empty room. Her last comment is mostly aimed at the hyper active humanoid really, but there's no need to single him out so directly, just tell everyone.
"R.. Right! On it." Risako sounds much more enthusiastic now that she has a clear idea. As before the girl closes her eyes to focus before opening them dramatically to scan the room. She'd caught a glimpse earlier so Risako wasn't expecting to find much. However, she'd at least be able to tell if there was some kind of illusion preventing her from seeing more clearly.
Skymin lets everyone else scan the room and instead flies up to check out these shiny gemstones. He’d get yelled at for rushing ahead anyway. “Whoa... this is crazy...” He attempts to pull one out. Key word: attempts.
Apollo would still hang out by the door, merely acting as an overseer at this point. He would look around for anything that may catch his eye, but not actively investigating. He seemed wholly unmotivated by this point.
*There would be no need to detect any sort of Illusion. Risako and Fate would both detect as a powerful signal suddenly bursts out as a large creature crashes down from above, grinding a claw against the earth before circling around and landing between you and the way you came from. Unlike what Dionysus had been claiming, this beast was certainly not a wolf. It was instead a lion with bat like wings and a snake for a tail and a goats head glaring down at them like it was riding the Lion. Dionysus clicks his tongue.* Eris' guard dog. Get ready! *The beast roared ready to attack. However, from it's position, Apollo would be in a prime location to get in a suprise attack as it had no idea He was there.*
-Battle Start. Player Phase-
Foe: Chimera Unique Ability: Synergy (Chimera is immune to certain elements and can attack up to three times as long as certain conditions are met. Maximum of 2. Conditions currently met: 2 .)
Skymin nearly bonks into the wall from that shock but he smacks his cheeks to get himself focused. His body glows with the colors of the gemstones around him. The reflected light invigorates him like a plant that just got watered. Action: Growth (Increases attack)
"Saw that coming...." Risako mutters to herself from near the room's entrance. She wasn't psychic but as Fate mentioned this looked like where one might expect a boss. Rather than make an immediate attack, Risako continues searching, this time focusing on the Chimera to get a general view of its strengths, weaknesses, and abilities. Action: Scan - analyze an enemy's strengths and weaknesses - targetting Chimera
(edited by Kohiyo_Risako)
"Crap, my house keys. I knew I dropped them somewhere around here. Good thing I noticed before I got too far." [He had returned to take a few keys near the tree he was hiding in earlier. Seemed like they fell out after he jumped.] "Alright, I'll see myself out now" [He leaves, fulfilling the narrator's bit.]
{The eye that was left behind at the scene didn't specify who the enemy was. It's not the giant that got bullied to death, it's actually Kazuo. Because the enemy is Kazuo, the eye follows him until he or it dies.}
Despite having the advantage, Apollo felt no sense of urgency, electing to retreat backwards into the cave to gain some measure of invisibility. Hide (Removed from active party, cannot act or be targeted)
F: "Raging energy, and lightning's speed... I ask of you, turn our enemies to dust" The woman's voice is entirely focused for a moment, flying into her chant about a second before the beast even appears. And as she finishes, the robotic voice of her Device would join in upon the incantation while being aimed at their foe. And the sound of a cartridge clicking into place would echo through the chamber as Fate smirks a bit. Both: "BINDING TRIDENT SMASHER!" Burning yellow energy would quickly leap up onto her device, the power of lightning imbued with a heavy mana amount of mana gathered forth by her both her weapon and her own chant. In a mere split second, the large beast would find itself beset upon with a barrage of three powerful beams of electrical energy flying through the sky at nigh impossible to evade or block speeds. Not only that, but the power would linger in a diminshed form if it struck true, aiming to form a rope of sorts between the beast's snake tail and its front which would being strangling it horribly tightly. Action: Binding Trident Smasher: Heavy elec X3. 50% chance to... Normally bind for a bit, but in this case since it's trying to strangle probably inflicts a damge over time instead if that works.
Woah they do exist! Isla hung back and took a photo Hey monster is there any reason why you're fighting?
*Dionysus pulls out one of his bottles He uncorks it at blows the smoke at the Chimera, causing the beast increasing discomfort.* I'll support you guys. Just don't do... Wait wait wait- *Dionysus tries and fails to stop Fate's attack.* Do anything stupid. Like that. Oh boy. Dionysus Unique Passive: Unknown Power (Increases the parties chance to inflict status ailments and increases parties resistance to getting inflicted with status ailments.) Dionysus: Maeneid's Winde (Heavy Psy damage to one foe. Chance to inflcit Brainwash on Female enemies for 1 turn. Target: Chimera)
-Enemy Phase-
*Fate's attack breaks the Chimera out of the stupor it was going in from Dionysus. The electrical power absorbs into the beasts skin, channeling towards the goat head. As Risako's scan finds out, the damage is nullified.* Chimera Data Strengths: Fire (Null), Electric (Null) Weakness: Wind Status: Poison (Immune), Down (Immune), Instant Kill (Null) *Fate would notice three seperate points of power eminating from each of the three heads. One from the Lion, one from the Goat and one from the Snake. The Lion is easily the most powerful.* *As the group wait, the Lion head roars. Each head channels power. From the Lion, Three balls of flames fire out, heading at Fate, Skymin and Dionysus. Electrical energy charges into the goats horns. With a bleat from the Goat head, a swift beam of lightning zaps at Risako's feet. Finally, the snake head rises up before breathing a poisonous mist at the whole party.* Chimera moves Lion Head: Fireball (Heavy Fire Damage to three random foes. Target: Fate, Skymin, Dionysus) Goat Head: Thunderbolt (Heavy Electric Damage to one foe. Target: Risako) Snake Head: Poison Breath (Medium Curse Damage to all foes excluding Apollo. Moderate chance to poison.)

Welp I tried talking to it. Woah! Isla darted out of the way to try and avoid the curse.
“May the light shine upon the weak and give protection to the just!” Risako rapidly chants as she noticed the Lion head beginning it’s attack, putting up her barrier just in time for the thunderbolt to strike. The lightning dances along the edge of Risako’s shield before being directed back at the source. Of course considering the scan she doubts it’ll actually have much of an effect. After the first attack her barrier is dispelled, leaving Risako vulnerable to the second breath. Fortunately she was already somewhat resistant to poison, with Dionysus’s potionmaking the poison non-issue entirely, leaving the girl almost unharmed “The creature is weak to wind if anyone can stir something up.” In a fight Risako’s voice can be heard much more clearly and confidently as she lets her training take over Action: light barrier - reflects the first magic attack. So Reflecting Thunderbolt
Wind... That isn't her usual style, but Mana is a versatile thing at heart, it won't be as strong as her normal attacks so maybe it would be best to use that in conjunction with a physical attack, enchant the weapon rather than fling pure Mana. Naturally though before she can do that, she'll have to dodge or defend against the attacks somehow. If it had actually focused on her there'd be a decent chance of one or two hitting, as is she manages to avoid the ball of flame with a rush forward while her weapon and outfit become the massive blade and lightly armored black bodysuit again. F: "Rushing winds and whirling death, come forth and slice my enemies down to nothing!" Both: "Hurricane Slicer!" The sound of a cartridge clicking out would again rush from Bardiche, and roaring winds burst up around her blade as the woman moves with impossible speed to deliver a quartet of strikes straight towards the goat's head of the beast, hoping to if not sheer the thing off entirely at least leave it distracted before getting back to evasive maneuvers. Getting hit in Sonic Form really wouldn't help her, not to mention the backlash from using cartridges so quickly. Action: Hurricane Slicer, medium physical/wind damage 4 times. True Sonic Form, greatly enhances dodge/speed and attack power. Cartridge overuse, inflicts 5% damage. HP 95%
Skymin dives down and lands with a roll to put out the flames eating away at him. He sits up and grumbles. "That wasn't fun... Ah! On it!" He shoots up a few feet into the air then sizes up the chimera. He brings his hand down and cuts through the poisonous cloud. His blade of air arcs straight through the mist and at the head of the beast. Action: Air Slash (Medium Wind to head)
*Dionysus takes the fire ball and is knocked backwards. Luckily, thanks to his psasive, he nullifies the Poison and gets back to his feet.* Ugh. So. You kids do know how to deal with Chimera's right? *Dionysus takes up a defensive pose.* Dionysus: Divine Retribution (Prepares to counter)
-Enemy Phase-
*While the reflected attack does nothing, the Chimera is heavily buffeted by the wind and flinches under the gale. Then it rears up and roars in anger. It's heads raise up once again. The Chimera's jaws ignite before it breaths fire towards the party. The goat bleats, firing a ray of lighting at one of the rocks lighting up the room. It riqouches before firing electric rays from multiple angle at seemingly random, the bolts dropping down at Skymin. Meanwhile, the snake hissed and snaps at the air. The wounds from the wind blades begin healing as the Chimera regains it's strength.* Chimera Attacks Lion Head: Fire Breath (Heavy Fire damage to all foes) Goat Head: Thunder Rain (Heavy Thunder damage to three random targets. Target: Skymin X3) Snake Head: Unity (Heals self. Move effectiveness increases with how much conditions for Unity is met. Current Conditions: 2.)

Fire shouldn't be to big of a problem, my camera is fire proof after all. Isla stood firm and put her guard up.
"Oh boy." Skymin flies upwards, but he's stuck between a many-headed serpent lady and a whirlpool woman, because he's shocked for thinking he might actually get out of this without any scrapes. The result? One Skymin twitching on the floor. He regains enough motor control to grab something round and blue out of his bag and shove it into his face. Action: Item use (High heal)
Having used her actual barrier earlier, Risako is left with little recourse but to take the fire, using her staff to part the flames and minimize the damage. Still, the girl is overall pretty fragile, her dress starting to show some wear. Meanwhile the girl tries focusing her thoughts, directing them to Fate Um... Please hold out your hand. There's something I can only do with other Magical Girls hoping Fate gets her telepathic message, Risako keeps an eye out for the older woman's flyby and jumping to give them a high five as they go. If Fate agrees to it, they'd notice some of Risako's power flowing through Fate's armor and to Bardiche, enhancing their next attack with Risako's chains of light. Action: Connect - adds light Holy damage and a medium chance to bind to each of Fate's hits this turn. Bind - prevents movement for 2 turns, but does not stop attacks that do not require movement, such as the breaths this Chimera is fond of.
The woman would see no issue going along with it, the wave of fire is... An annoyance, but Bardiche's cry of Defenser Plus while Fate rushes towards Risako at an incredbile pace would ensure the flames only marginally harm her rather than dealing the full brunt of their power. Upon making contact with the girl, she'd quickly realize there's a decent amount of foreign Mana flowing through her weapon... Yeah that'll work. Thanks, think I can do something with this! B: "Blitz Assault!" It doesn't take much time for her to be right ontop of the beast again, this time flowing through its snake head repeatedly in a blur of motion which would individually not deal much damage... But the fact her oversized weapon has delivered about eight strikes in two seconds or so would make each one's low power mean very little indeed. The holy power currently burning into the beast with each blow ontop of Fate's own raw physical damage no doubt not making it any better. Action: Blitz Assault- Light physical eight times. + An added hit of light holy for each blow that connects in this use. HP: 90%
Apollo peaks out through the entryway at the battle taking place, noting the various skills used by the participants. Feeling somewhat calm, he mutters under his breath. "Seems they can handle themselves." He then sits down against the wall, pulling out his notebook and starting to scribble. "I wonder if I should just go..."
*When the fire breath hits Dionysus, the shifty hunter shimmers for a second. The CHimera is suddenly struck by a sudden, almost invisible blow to the Goat head.* Aim for to cut the damn heads off. You are not making this situation go by any quicker *Dionysus reaches for the green bottle from earlier and spreads the smoke in that bottle around the room.* Dionysus: Life of the Party (Moderately heals all allies and increases their attack by 1 stage)
-Enemy Phase-
*The Chimera is blitzed by the combined powers of Risako and Fate's attack. Each slash cutting into parts of it's body, 2 at each head and two at the torso. The Lion and Goat heads seem to have escaped being bound but the snake head sinks to the ground, weakened. The goat rears it's head breathing out a cloud of black mist into the air. It floats over the party before releasing a storm of bolts down on them. The Lion head meanwhile lunges forwards, dragging the snake head along the ground roughly as it does, a slash at Risako with it's claw.* Chimera Moves Lion Head: Heavy Slash (Heavy Physical damage to one foe. Low Chance of Bleed. Targt: Risako) Goat Head: Thunder Storm (Heavy electric damage to all foes.) Snake Head: Bound (Unable to move)
-Player Phase-
Skymin recovers enough to get to his feet and points at that annoying lion head. “Hey, I’m not used to chime meras! This one’s mean... Air Slash!” A stronger blade of wind aims to slash the lion head’s neck. That’s the most annoying one for him. Action: Air Slash (med wind to lion head)
Healing, lovely. That'll keep her Barrier Jacket running smoothly for a little bit longer... And hopefully Risako will be alright thanks to it as well, since Fate really needs to capitalize on her enemy's mistake in this case. F:"Two can play at the game of powering up with their foe's attacks, Bardiche, gather up the energy aimed at us!" B: "Yes sir, lighting collection and conversion to Mana beginning!" Perhaps unsurprisingly, the woman who throws around electicaly attacks is also rather good at dealing with them. She isn't able to defend the entire group, but the bolt aimed at Fate herself would be drawn into her massive weapon and give it a crackling aura of Mana and electric energy. Both: "THUNDER ZANBER!" The blade would elongate again, becoming massive enough to strike at all of their foe's parts for a few moments while another cartridge clicks and drops to the floor. Much like Jet Zanber before it, this particular attack would overload the enemy with enough power and mana to render their resistances or defenses null and void. Combined that with the increase in attack from Dionysus, and the fact the coursing energy in the massive blade as Fate tries to if nothing else hack off the stunned snake head while likely damaging the rest some, there's hopefully a good chance she'll get one off. Action: Thunder Zanber: Heavy physical/elec 3 times, ignores resistances and enemy defense. Chance to inflict paralysis.
"E.. Eh? Why me?" Risako stutters out as she stumbles backwards away from the lion. Its unfortunately not enough to actually avoid either attack. While the girl isn't bleeding, she is pretty seriously injured now. But before the beast can run away she stutters out "S... Scattershot!" pointing her staff at the lion head and sending out a burst of 6 light spears at point-blank range. Normally this shot-gun like attack would spread out, but with such a large target directly in front of her it would be near impossible to miss. Action - Scattershot - 6x Light Holy targetting the lion head HP - 40%-ish
I don't think they can handle this on their own... gah, I really wanted to keep this a secret the entire time if I could have. Isla scratched the base of her finger, making her blood slide and turn solid. They mad claws at the tips of her fingers. She took off her hat to let her cat ears free of being caged. They were the same color as her nails. Isla crouched down before charging at the beast. She climbed on it and ripped her claws to the goat head's neck. Severe physical attack x2
Apollo is caught off guard by the sound of a raging storm, shocking him to action. Hastily, he rushes into the battlefield straight through the electric jolts only to notice Risako getting injured. "Guh... how unexpected." Not letting the electricity flowing through his body hinder him, Apollo rushes to Risako's aid, standing in front of her and summoning his axe in a defensive stance. To protect her, he manifests a wall of stalagmites under the lion head and piercing all throughout the chimera's body, with a few in front of the beast to soak up the brunt of its attack. "Alright, what's the damage?" Mamagnadyne (Heavy Earth damage to all foes) - HP 88%
(edited by Sunna)
*Dionysus releases purple smoke from a bottle and watches as the beast inhales it. Though the after effect wouldn't do anything, the intial damage would be enough. Dionysus looks over at Apollo.* Well. Look who finnally stopped sulking. Dionysus: Toxic Mist (Medium Curse Damage to all foes. High chance to poison)
-Enemy Phase-
*With all the punishment it takes, it's no suprise when the Lion head sags, taken out of comition. The goat head takes charge of the body next, making a strange growl as Isla attacks it before slamming it's head down at her in retaliation. On the ground, the snake head manages to release it's poisonous fog out of it's mouth as it slowly recovers from being bound.* Chimera Moves Lion Head: KO Goat Head: Attack (Medium Physical damage to one foe. Target: Isla) Snake Head: Poison Breath Synergy Conditions: 1. Chimera's Fire Nullifaction has been removed.
-Player Phase-
“Oh no you don’t!” Skymin steps forward into the poison the snake puts out. It swirls around him, getting sucked into his body. His scarf turns a deep purple by the time it’s fully gone. Exhaustion from that aside, he came out perfectly fine. Action: Purification (absorbs Poison Breath. Cannot be used again until Seed Flare is used)
F: "Oi, I'll leave the offense up to you two for now. I'm gonna try and get Risako back in fighting shape again." As she rushes towards the girl her armor would return to its cloaked state from before, leaving the woman with greater defenses despite its lower of her speed and power. The drawbacks don't matter much though for her current purposes. B: "Physical Heal!" Mana would quickly form in Fate's hand which is placed upon the girl's shoulder, flooding through her body and quickly causing at least a decent chunk of the wound's she's been building up to recover far more quickly than they otherwise would. Additionally, Fate would simply stand near the young girl for now, preparing to block whatever attack comes her way next. That Barrier Jacket substitute of yours is... Kinda flimsy seeming, doing okay Risako? I'll go ahead and block for you a little for now though. I should probably try and teach you some shield spells or something later if you want. Action: Physical Heal - High healing to Risako.
(edited by Fate_Testarossa)
The mists flying around in the air would not have any lasting effect on Apollo, simply causing him light fatigue. He responds to Dionysus, admitting his own fault somewhat. "What can I say? I'm no professional." He then takes a more agile stance, putting one foot forward in preparation. "Tch, trying to outdo me, are you, Fate? Very well, i'll show you the extent of my power." Apollo circles around the snake head, moving fast enough to get behind it. In one swift motion, he raises his axe above his head and cleaves it towards the snake neck. Default Attack (High damage) - HP 84%
With Apollo's protection and Fate's healing, the girl would begin feeling quite a lot better. Physically, anyways, as her dress is mended to near full capacity. The girl can barely stutter out "T... Thank you..." Risako's face visibly reddens as so many people go out of their way to help her. Its a little embarassing to get this much attention, especially because of her mistakes. Its supposed to look heroic. Traditional defenses don't mean much against a Witch so its helps me be more confident. Its true that her dress wasn't really practical for combat. But that wasn't really the weakest thing about her "T... The light illuminates the darkness, seeking out evil without fail. Starshine!" the girl quickly chants another spell, stumbling over her little chant before waving her staff at the creature. This time its only a single ball of light, but its also perfectly controllable. With unerring accuracy Risako swings her staff to guide the ball into the serpent head Action: Starshine - Medium holy to Serpent head. Can't miss. hp - 90%
Hehe hey goat Isla held on to goat's neck ripping her claws as deep as she could.
*Dionysus smirks as he watches everyone work. He uncorks the green bottle again and sets everyone up for a finisher.* You got this. Dionysus: Life of the Party
-Enemy Phase-
*With it being distracted by Starshine, the snake head can't do much to defend as it's lopped off from the main body by Apollo, leaving only the goat head remaining. With rather loud Bleat, the Goat throws Isla off it's body and takes flight, floating in the air before using it's Electrical power to charge the crystals around the room. They shine dazzingly bright before firing rays of electrical energy everywhere.* Chimera Goat Head: Dazzling Storm (Medium chance to daze before dealing Severe electrical damage to all foes) Snake Head: KO Synergy Conditions: 0. Poison Nullification removed

Isla laid on the ground doing nothing before pointing her camera at the monster. One last shot before you go.
Skymin falls to one knee, but he had been quick enough to cover his eyes. The wind around his body howls and condenses into one final Air Slash. The wind blade aims for the last head’s neck. The goat may be flying high, but it’s nothing to a hero’s blade! Action: Air Slash (med wind)
The brightness is enough to blind Fate for a moment... There is the issue however that her Device doesn't rely on eyesight, nor even have it in any way a human would understand for that matter. Thanks to being set up to protect the small girl she is thankfully this time able to use her own mastery of electrical to protect Risako along with herself. Massive arcs of energy building up on Bardiche as she points the giant blade toward their foe and... Holds out the weapon towards Risako. "I think you've given me an idea, though I can't be too sure this'll work but... Let's give it a shot, can't beleive I never considered mixing the Mana of two mages like that till you did it." If Risako did indeed touch the weapon she'd find an incredbile amount of Mana pouring through her system, gleaming lighting channeling onto the girl's staff and giving it a wild arc of power. "Alright, let's see how this goes! I'm curious what you can do with all that extra Mana honestly." She actually sounds a bit excited by the potential in this mid battle experiment frankly, inspired entirely by the young girl's own trick mere moments ago. Action: Connect - Serve Electrical damage added to Risako's next attack, pierce added to next attack.
"M.. me?" Risako's a little hesitant at first. All the times she'd practiced it had been with her mentor which... Didn't end up so well, but hearing the excitement in Fate's voice causes the girl to smile. eagerly nodding to Fate "A.. Alright. I'll put it to good use." Risako briefly touches Bardiche, letting the power flow through her as she had done several times with her mentor before. Once ready, she takes a deep breath, pointing the sparking tip of her staff at the Chimera's final head "The light shines upon the just, becoming one with the storm and a blade to pierce the darkness. Sparkling Thunder!" With this new power boost Risako's usual ray of light begins sparking violently, becoming one with the lightning and flowing together as a beam of destructive force that aims to pierce through the remaining head Action - Sparkling Thunder Severe Holy + Severe Elec. Pierces resistances.
Noticing a dangerous beam of highly destructive energy barreling towards his enemy, Apollo takes care not to get in the way, instead running back for cover as the duo of mages make their assault. "That's... I could never contend with such raw energy. This is just ridiculous..." Apollo sighs, relaxing his muscles as he merely observes the enemy Defend - HP 75%
*The electric holy beam pierces the Chimera. With a earsplitting bleat, the Chimera crashes into the ground and starts fading into ashes.*
-Battle Over-
Heh. Not bad kids. You took that Wolf out like a pro. Now all that's left is... *A slow clapping fills the room. From the enterance to the caves inner sanctum, a figure appears. A small blond girl in a purple dress and a golden hoodie saunters of of the cave.* ???: Well done. Well done. You killed that puppy like it was a Saturday Morning Breakfast Bagel. That was quite impressive. *The figure gives them a childlike grin. Dionysus narrows his eyes.* Eris.
"Hmm?" Apollo would be pleased to see the new figure make their appearance. He would approach them and kneel to their level, giving them a friendly smile. "Eris, is it? My name's Apollo. Nice to meet you." Forgoing any sense of ration, tact or sense, Apollo would hold his hand out to the girl to offer a handshake as a polite gesture.
Skymin flutters to his feet and bows his head. “Um, sorry for killing your pet, Miss. It was trying to eat us.” Yet again, completely missing the point. Skymin snaps out of his slump and flaps his “wings” excitedly. “Nice to meet you, Miss! What brings you to a cave like this?”
"Its over..." Risako lets out a sigh of relief, smiling back at Fate once the creature is defeated. But they don't have long before Eris appears. With both Apollo and Sky running forward. Risako clears her throat a bit to remind them "She's the bad guy here remember? Don't get too close.."
The woman would shoot a thumbs up towards Risako while smiling... But that little moment is quickly brought to a halt by her turning her eyes upon Eris with a curious and wary glance, standing between the younger spellcaster and their enemy with her blade aimed forward. "Eris huh... So I take it these minor crimes against nature are yours, something leads me to beleive you aren't just a kid based upon the quality of your 'pets'." It's a sharp contrast to her interaction with... Everyone up to this point, their 'boss' has gotten a bit of suspicion from her, Apollo annoyance, but her tone at this point is downright implicating she's ready to strike to kill at any moment. "It would be nice if we could all just walk away from this happy without any need for more violence, but somehow I have a feeling that isn't your intention. Am I right on that?" Whatever she is, it isn't hard for the experienced mage to tell Eris is strong. That part's obvious to anyone with a good feel for mystic might who's paying attention, thus the fighting stance she stands in currently.
*Eris just giggles at Apollo's sudden knightly attitude and Skymin's innocent introduction. She then looks over to Fate and Risako and smiles widely.* Eris: Honestly, I'd love to be able to move on without anyone else bing hurt as well. But I'm guessing the God of Layabouts isn't about to let that happen, isn't that right? *Dionysus remains silent.* Eris: Ah. No need for the silent treatment, Dio. But really? Is Thunderballs so busy that he could only spare you to bring me in? Talk about an unfortuante turn of events. Thugh I guess why these mortals are here with you. *Eris adopts an innocent stance, placing her hands behind her back and rocking on her toes.* Eris: So then. Tell me. Has Dio told all of you why you're really here? Dionysus: Don't listen to her Eris: Oh. What's the matter Dio? So defensive. It's almost as if your hiding something? Eee hee hee.
Risako nervously looks back and forth between Dio and Eris. It takes her a second, but while the girl is nervous, she's not inattentive. And the real reason may have been mentioned "You stole something, didn't you Eris?" what that something was Risako had no idea, but even if neither of them were trustworthy, there was an easy way to resolve it. "If you'd both let down your defenses and show me the object, I should be able to see what's going on."
Fate's eyes are still narrowed, but she... Can't deny the entire job was suspect, and that Dionysus has dodged questions with falsehoods. Well carried ones, but there's just something about his answers and familiarity with this woman that leaves a nagging feeling there's more going on here in the enforcer's mind. "In all honesty, I don't totally trust either of you. But I'm willing to hear you out I suppose... Nothing against you Dionysus, but your answers have left me with more questions than resolutions up to this point. Though I will admit, I'm not exactly warming up to someone who has deadly monsters in a cave any random idiot could walk into either. Not to mention the fact I hear you are indeed, a thief. I guess what I'm saying is, I'm giving you both a chance to tell the full story as you see it. " She's undecided at the moment, and giving both a chance to come clean seems best... Riskao's suggestion isn't bad either, and she'd nod upon hearing it. "And that's a fine point too, I wanna get to the bottom of this one way or another. Maybe letting her take a proper look would be to all of our benefit." In the end she'll probably side with the one that 'hired' them. If there seems to be any truth in his claims of Eris's theft at least.
"We were... here to defeat that chime mera, right? That was the only mission we had." Skymin tilts his head like a dog. He's not sure what the deal with these two is. Heroes are supposed to help those in need but he doesn't know how to deal with... whatever this is. He shakes his head and turns around. "Hey Dai Nice, what's going on? I dunno who this little miss is but we shouldn't keep secrets. If you're a good guy, you shouldn't have a problem with telling the truth, right?" Skymin doesn't even notice that his question could come off as a threat. It's just logical to him.
Apollo stands up, sighing irately at Fate and Risako's battle-ready nature and Dionysus' non-convincing attitude. "Honestly, you guys are acting like children. Did no one ever think to look at the full picture before casting judgement?" He gives Dionysus a suspicious stare as if to press him for a response. "Dionysus, Eri-chan, what reason do I have to take up arms against either of you? As it stands, neither of you have any grounds to prove each others' guilt. And I won't condone needless fighting, either. If it comes down to it, i'll restrain the both of you myself."
Fate would just shoot the boy using a god's name a withering look while responding to him mentally. You may have noticed, that we are both in fact trying to get more information and that I just asked for the full story as well as a chance for Risako to gather proper data. I'm not entirely sure what your idea of acting like childern is. But I don't include showing basic caution and readiness in the face of powerful supernatural beings to be 'childish' in the least bit. Nor am I sure at all how I'm casting judgement before looking at the full picture while asking to look at the full god damn picture. Her mental tone to him is rather annoyed in fact, at this point the boy's tested her paitance a bit too far for Fate to simply keep ignoring it.
Apollo scratches his head, seemingly confused by Fate's use of telepathy and unsure of how to respond. "If possible, do you guys think we can wait turns before speaking up? I seem to be missing most of what my companions are saying." He would raise his voice as he tacked on that last statement as if to provide an excuse for his demeanor, as well as urge Fate to practice patience and understanding in this environment.
(edited by Sunna)
Ugh... Isla rolled to the side and picked herself up, all groggy and stumbling. This is why I don't want to fight I always end up getting more hurt than the rest of them. Isla's ears perked up seeing the woman walking inside. Isla pulled out her recorder and pointed it at her, but Isla stayed where she was. Hey! My name is Isla, can you do an interview before something goes wrong?
*Eris gasps before laughing* Eris: A thief? Is that how Dio has portrayed me as? That's hilarous. Dionysus: That's what you are. Eris: Oh, now you're just lying Dio. *Eris shakes her head.* Eris: As much as I'd love to just show you what I "stole", I can't. After all, it's not exactly a physical thing. All I'm guilty of is knowing too much. And because of that, Dio and the rest of the twelve bullies want to silence me. Though we gods can't die, so they'll probably just lock me up in Tartarus for a decade or three. Again. Dionysus: She's lying. What she stole was an artifact of great importance and she's likely stashed it in the back of this cave. Eris: Oh come now. I may the Goddess of Mischief, but that doesn't mean I always lie. Dionysus: Give it up, Eris. You're outnumbered here. *Eris smiled looking around at the others expectantly.* Eris: Am I though?
Ugh looks like things are already going wrong. Isla perked her ears to listen to anything that was probably all around them. While she did that she put away her recorder.
Apollo would stand by Eris' side, casually rubbing the back of his head with his right hand. "Ehhh, you're kinda making her out to sound like a Robin Hood, Dionysus-san. Or, more familiarly, Prometheus. Either way, your punishment sounds way too harsh. I may only be 18 years old, but as a fellow god, I feel this is overstepping your authority. At the very least, should we not abide by mortal law and work with the local police to enact justice? It's not like you own this land." He summons his axe, plunging it into the ground. "But what artifact could possibly be so important that you need to recklessly involve a band of unwitting mercenaries to retrieve? How much worse off would you be if you just dropped this thing entirely and forgot about said artifact?"
Skymin looks back and forth between the two arguing gods (excluding Apollo). He doesn’t want to end up in a fight. He doesn’t even know what Eris stole. But she could be lying. Although... an idea comes to mind. He smiles and puts a hand on Eris’s shoulder. “Don’t worry, I believe you! You still stole that knowledge though. Maybe you can give it back then? If you tell him what you learned, then you’ll have ‘returned’ the knowledge right? Or you could tell it to me so I can take that knowledge back to the would-be client.”
"Um.. G.. guys.." Apollo and Skymin were already going on Eris's side, which made it hard for the girl to speak up. Rather than make her suggestion out loud, Risako just goes back to telepathically messaging Fate Shouldn't it be easy to check? If its an object like Dionysus says we should be able to find it back there.
Honestly, I'm torn between that and just... Leaving. I could get out of us here if you want Risako, let them sort out their own issues if we can't find any proof one way or another. It's a good suggestion though, I'll give it to them. It's an option, and the rest frankly aren't people Fate is that concerned with... The young girl's safety has quickly become her main focus here, maybe it's just that she has a daughter not much younger than Riskao, maybe it's that she hates seeing kids in danger even when they chose it themselves. Whatever the case is, her goal has gone from 'finishing this job' to 'defending the kid'. That said, she would still offer up the girl's suggestion in a collected authoritative voice. "If you really haven't stolen anything, you wouldn't mind letting us take a look right Eris? If there's no object to hide then of course, we simply find nothing. So, care to stand by your words?" Goddess of mischef, in her own words. She can probably use illusions too. Not sure how well I can break through them if she does but I'll try, keep your guard up even if she agrees kiddo. With that the Enforcer would silently begin weaving magic upon herself, an effort to see through illusions and defend against their formation... Though even while empowering it more than enough to get past all but the best mages, she can't be sure it'll help against a god any. Worth a shot though from where she's standing.
*Eris gives a wry smile and a shrug at Fate's suggestion. Interestingly enough, despite the young girls claims, Fate is unable to detect any illusion around the so called goddess* Eris: Sure. I don't mind having girls peek around my room. But no boys allowed, alright Dio? *Dionysus growls.* Dionysus: This is a waste of time. Let's just knock her out and deal with the rest later. Eris: Oh no. Is Dio scared of being caught in a lie? *Eris gasps.* Eris: The mean mister is going to try and hurt me. Oh woe is me. Save me, young travelers, save me. Dionysus: Enough of this. I'm not about to let you go unchecked, Eris. *Dionysus looks ready for a fight. Eris shrinks in her spot, looking vulnerable. Despite this, she's likely a strong being if she thinks herself a god. Neither seem to be telling the whole story. Whoever you chose to side with is up to you.*
(edited by -Dionysus-)
Skymin takes his hand off the girl's shoulder and frowns. He's got even less of an idea of what's going on than before. Dai Nice is trying to beat up a kid, though, so that's a mark against him. Eris is also feeling evasive, so that's a mark against her... Ah, screw it. What kind of hero uses a tally system as a scale anyway? He gathers his thoughts and... marches over to Dionysus and tugs on the man's ear. "If you're not gonna tell us anything or behave, you don't get to fight. You're trying to beat up a little girl too! Come on, come on!" He attempts to drag the man by the ear towards the way they came in.
O.. Oh? You're wanting to go? its clear that peaceful talk had broken down by now and since Risako didn't really know anything about Dio and Eris's argument to go one way or another, she'd really feel bad about supporting either of them. Its not very heroic, but neither is fighting someone innocent. So the girl will remain silent, leaving the actual decision to Fate A.. As long as you can drop me off back home.. I guess that'd be fine.
Honestly? Kind of am, though I do want to see what exactly is back there too... Lemme take a look before I make any final choice. "Right then, I'm gonna go check out that room I suppose..." Without skipping a beat or dropping her spells against illusion, the woman would just vanish from sheer speed and begin moving into Eris room. Aiming to take a quick look at the place and with any luck figure out something else about what the hell is going on her. If anything happens let me know, I'll be back out before it can get too bad, promise.
Apollo unsummons his axe, shrugging and sighing with exhaustion. "Dionysus, I don't want to fight you, I only want to be Eri-chan's friend. To that end, i'll intervene if you do anything unnecessary. Otherwise, you guys do whatever you want. I'm just gonna rest for a bit." Despite having done fuck all, Apollo takes a few steps to the side and sits on the ground and creates a stalagmite behind him, resting his head on it.
Isla grabbed Skymin's wrist to stop him from dragging Dio. She closed her eyes and smiled warmly, but kept a menacing edge to her voice I've written a lot of articles, so let me tell you that girls like Eris trick people the most. We should hear what both as to say right?
Skymin huffs and stops, but doesn’t let go of the man’s ear. “I know. It’s just that he’s not saying anything when asked and I don’t want a fight. Wait... oh! You’re a reporter right? Maybe you can cross examine both of them!” He bounces excitedly. This unintentionally leads to more ear tugging.
Isla grabbed Skymin's fingers to pry them off. Her claws should persuade him to let go. Sure! Let go of him first.
“Owowow, okay, sheesh...” Skymin lets go and resigns himself to standing in a corner. Women can be scary sometimes...
*Eris can't help but giggle as Skymin tries and fails to drag Dionysus even a step backwards. A cat like smile appears on Eris' face As Isla tries to get everyone to calm down.* Eris: Ah. You don't trust me, miss Cat. I'm so sad. *Meanwhile, at the end of the small corridor and in the second large chamber, Fate wouldn't find much. A small table, a single leather chair and a wide screen tv with a show paused. However, even to a novice mage, something incredibly powerful can be detected even if you can't see it.*
Ugh, of course she talks like that. Alright, can you and Dio please tell me what started this? I won't be recording this and I won't add anything you don't want me to. I promise.
Skymin doesn’t have much to add. He just sits down and waits for everyone to finish chatting. ...Is he even getting paid for this? He hopes so.
Apollo, too, doesn't have much to add. He simply relaxes in place, not paying much attention to Dionysus anymore but silently admiring Eris.
Risako can't help but giggle at the others' antics, though she elects not to join in. Instead she'd take a deep breath to give Fate a small telepathic message We.. We're fine here. Did you find anything?
The Enforcer is no novice, she's been at this a while and has plenty of training. With a finely honed sixth sense she's actively focusing on at the moment and Bardiche helping out feeling the energy source isn't hard at all, she'd attempt to perfom some scanning magic and see if her Device can get a clearer picture of what it is. And try to feel out the exact location, aiming to physically take hold of it even though she can't see with her eyes.
*Dionysus points an accusatory finger at Eris.* Dionysus: That girl stole something very important. It's an object important to one of the big three. She couls use it to cause floods and earthquakes. Like hell am I letting her keep it. Eris: What? No. That's quite the eleborate excuse, but I know why you're here. *Eris begins pacing around the outside of the cavern.* Eris: You Olympians want more power. So, you're plotting in secret to destroy one of the major pantheons. You'd bring Ragnarok early to the Norse by your own hands. And you think me knowing about your little ploy will ruin the suprise. That I'll go blab to some big wig in the Norse inner circle like Freya or Thor or Loki. Riiight? *Eris giggles, leaning forwards.* Eris: And you've tricked these lovely little mortals in helping you dispatch me because you prefer party to work. So rude. *Fate would easily be able to find an object at the very back of the cavern hidden behind both an invisibility spell and a bunch of boxes. It seems the same spell used to hide the Chimera and Laestragonians was also used but the magical aura still allows it to be felt fairly easily. Upon appraoching it, Fate would feel a sudden chill from the item. If she still goes to grab it, she would feel the pole of what seems to be some kind of spear but the invisibility spell makes it hard to see what type of spear it is exactly.*
This talk about pantheons isn’t sticking, but Skymin leans back against the wall and chimes in anyway. “I dunno what’s the big feud between your two groups, but I don’t know who to trust since it’s all contradictions. That one lady went to search for the thing, so problem solved, right? We’ll know who’s telling the truth depending if she finds it or not.”
Seems she really did have something she didn't want anyone finding hidden back here Risako, not sure if this makes our 'boss' totally trustworthy. But I'd say it makes Eris less so given it's directly counter to her claims. The mage would indeed power through it, she doesn't much like things being hidden from her after all. Investigator's instincts cause her to find hiding in of itself a cause for alarm. After taking hold of it, assuming she could the woman would begin walking out with the weapon in hand and look over towards Eris. "I must admit... I am curious why miss goddess of mischef, you happened to claim you had nothing to hide at first. Despite having a rather well disguised weapon hidden in your room, a normal person would have missed it no doubt. But I like to think I'm a bit better at investigation than the average person." The fact she's holding something in her hands, even if it's something nobody can see would make the woman's actual point rather clear. And just in case those who can't see or feel magic doubt it, she'd stab the thing into the ground and hopefully cause a clear sound of metal slamming down. "So, any explanation for that or do you want me to just guess?"
no no no wait wait wait! Isla pointed at Eris and Dio. Let's look at this from both points. Dio wants us to take back something she stole. Eris says that he's lying and just wants to kill her. So, here's a question for Dio, what proof do you even have that she stole it? And Eris, can I ask you why you are inside this cave and what was with those monsters?
"Floods and earthquakes?" Apollo snickers at this comment, covering his mouth with his right upper arm as if to stop himself from breaking down in laughter as stands to face Dionysus. "Oh my god, dude. How weak do you have to be to have to rely on an artifact that does such a minute task?." Apollo would revel in the humor of the situation for a moment before taking a condescending glare at Dionysus. "If that's really what this is about, tell "the big three" that I could demolish them in a flash if I so wished. And I don't need paltry trinkets to do it." Apollo then calms down a bit, looking at the item Fate had procured with disinterest. "Honestly, I don't see why there has to be this big of a fuss over this, can't we check the bible to see who's right?" Apollo would have a pensive look on his face, betraying the comedic intent of his comment.
U.. Understood. I guess I'm ready then Risako didn't think Eris would go without a fight, but if Fate found something... Important to the big three. Greek Gods. Can cause floods and... Oh. "D... Did you steal Poseidon's thing?" Risako asks, partially out of surprise. When Fate returns that'd pretty much seal it. Risako briefly shakes her head before calmly asking Eris "You don't think... I mean.. It'd be better if.. You just came quietly?"
*Both Eris and Dionysus give Apollo a look that heavily imply that think he's an idiot.* Eris: Ooooh. The mouth on this one. Dionysus: Don't be a hubristic idiot, mortal. Of course they don't need the artifact to use their own damn powers. However, the problem is that the trident can grant others the same authroities and THAT is the problem. * Eris continues pleading her innocence right until Fate stabs the invisible Trident into the ground, which causes the ground to shake slightly. Dionysus laughs upon "seeing" the object* Dionysus: Well what do you know? So, who's lying now, huh? *Eris gives Fate a cold glare.* Eris: You won't supposed to find that, tattle tail.
"Um.. Actually he's a... Lot like you..." Risako mutters. It was supposed to be for Dionysus but at this point it wouldn't be surprising if he didn't hear her. Instead the girl looks at the others, mostly to Fate as if seeking confirmation when she asks Eris "So um.. Are you going to give it up easily or... I mean I'd rather not fight if we don't have to..." but Risako is totally expecting Eris to get ticked off. She used a fair amount of magic last fight so they could be in trouble if this one dragged on too long.
Skymin flutters to his feet and claps his hands together. “Good job! Let’s go home. Glad we could settle this~!” He turns around and starts trotting towards the way they all came. He’s not even considering what Eris could do.
Apollo's eyes would fill with dark intent, glaring at Diomysus as if they were nothing but a mere demon. "Hahaha... hah... hah... that attitude really... pisses me off!" He would then zip over towards Dionysus at a speed that would give them some trouble responding to. Gathering strength in his arms, Apollo delivers a punch to Dionysus' gut with the potential to cause considerable pain. A dark aura would pulsate around Apollo, giving him an intimidating and frightful air. "Hah... hah..." default attack
(edited by Sunna)
Skymin pauses for a moment. “...Dude.” He gives Apollo a look then keeps walking.
*Dionysus gives Apollo a strange look as Apollo lands his punch. Dionysus doesn't flinch but he also doesn't retaliate. He's just confused at what Apollo was trying to accomplish. Eris would have probably laughed if she wasn't so angry at being called out by Fate.* Dionysus: Are you finished?
Dionysus would suddenly hear the mage's voice in his head, sounding rather annoyed with Apollo. ... I'm taking this artifact and getting out of here, I'd be happy to return it to the proper owners later but there's no sense in leaving it with a chance to end up back in her hands. If you need more asistance after I've stored it, it'll take me some time to get back but I can. With a bit more help at that. Since she walked out here her device has been counting down, caculating some rather complex math problems and getting ready to perform a rather serious spell... As she appears next to Risako in a blur of motion, the two would be engulfed by a gleaming light while Bardiche speaks out. B: "Dimensional Transfer, cordinates locked, exiting now!" In only a second more they'd both be gone from the sight of those gathered in the cave. Fate still holding onto the divine weapon and just sighing as she looks over at what appears to be, a normal house. It's rather large and there's several other homes on the street near it, but this particual building seemingly belongs to Fate by the way she just walks up to its doors. F: "Well, that was quite the adventure we just had wasn't it. I can take you home straight away if you want, shouldn't be too hard to figure out if you give me a rough location in that messed up gathering of demensions... I'd offer you dinner but, I did say I was gonna try and get back there. Should probably bring my wife along too if I'm really fighting freaking gods." She just sighs while absently sending the woman in question a message, mentally of course. It would take a few mintues for her to arrive though giving Risako plenty of time to respond.
"E.. Eh?" Risako is caught by surprise as the world around her vanishes in the blink of an eye, only to be replaced by an idyllic neighborhood. With nothing else to do Risako slowly follows after Fate, taking a moment to calm her racing heart and drop her transformation, returning to her casual attire. "Its.. So small." the girl absentmindedly comments before she even realizes Fate was talking to her again. Risako steps back, scratching the back of her head as she thinks of a reply "Um.. I mean.. If its no trouble... I really did mean to help.... But... No, its probably for the best... Just... Make sure to leave me a little bit away... I.. Um.. Father would be upset if he learned I was sneaking out. I.. Shouldn't stay too long."
Apollo would seem unphased by the lack of an effect his attack had, instead placing his hands in his pockets, none the worse for wear. "Who could tell? I'm not exactly an amicable entity, especially when under emotional duress. I do have a soft spot for little girls, though. So my sister's a big help when I get like that." He would awkwardly laugh as if nothing had happened at all, taking a look around the room casually. "Hey, Eri-chan, do you play video games?"
Um.... Isla scratched the back of her head starting to feel out of place here with all the talk about gods and random attacks. Well... I'm going to go write my article... unless anyone here has anything to say! If not then... Isla started to shuffle to the exit.
Fate would laugh upon the girl uttering she finds the place small, geez... Must be from a rich family or something, she can kinda relate. F: "Eh, maybe a little bit on the small side I guess. But I kinda like it that way, it's a nice place and it doesn't take us forever every time we wanna clean or something." She also would have vanished for... Only a few seconds, no longer holding the weapon and seemingly happy enough with its safety for the moment. Upon her return, the woman would be besides another young woman with brown hair tied in a ponytail who just sighs while waving to Risako. And speaking in a friendly tone. N: "Geez... Fighting gods huh, can't say I think bringing a kid along for that kind of job is a great idea." F: "Of course, which is why I'm taking her home before we deal with that. Speaking of which, kinda need a location to take you to Risako." The brunette would cough slightly while walking a bit closer to the young girl, obviously realizing she's forgotten to introduce herself. N: "We do need that yes. Also hi, Nanoha Takamachi's my name and it's nice meeting you! Though I guess we don't have much time to talk at the moment." Both mages would simply go quiet for a moment at that point, waiting on the girl's reply with patient smiles on their faces.
*Eris gasped as Fate vanishes with the trident.* Eris: SHE STOLE MY POINTY STICK! Dionysus: You stole it first. Eris: Fine. She stole my STOLEN pointy stick. *Eris rolls her eyes.* Eris: Well, this has all gone to Hades in a hand basket. Well fine then. If you won't play fair, don't expect me to play the same. *Her eyes flash. Fog rolls into the room, blocking everyone's vision.* Eris: And yes Polly. I do LOVE playing games. How about I teach everyone a real fun game... *When the fog fades, in Eris' place is no longer a young child but that of a young woman in a similar purple dress and hair colour. She floats slightly off the ground, her red eyes glowing and a cocky smirk on her face. A golden apple floats around her right hand. The exit is blocked by a mysterious force.* Eris: Play dead.
-Battle Start. Enemy Phase-
*Eris giggles, strange smoke gathering around her hands. She then fires it as a pulse, sending it through the room. Everyone who opposes her would feel weaker from the fog. Strangely, the fog seems to avoid Apollo. Apollo would hear a voice whispering in his ears.* Eris: You hate Dio and the others, right Polly? They think your weak. Why don't you show them who the true champion is. Eris Unique Passive: Discord (Increases chances of inflicting Mental ailments. Increases damage to foes inflicted with a status ailments) Moves Innocence (Decreases all foes stats by one stage. Avoids Apollo) Persuasion (Attempts to sway Apollo to her side.)
-Player Phase-
“H-hey now...” Skymin squints at the fog and stumbles in what he thinks is Eris’s direction. His body glows to strengthen himself and provide some light. “Cut it out Eris! The person who stole your stolen spear thing is gone!” Action: Growth (used to cancel out atk debuff)
Damn it! Isla growled and turned to Eris. What is the point of this?! You lost your pointy stick and none of us were going to do anything to you! Killing us won't get it back, you need to change Fate! The woman fate, I mean.
“O.. Oh. You don’t have people cleaning for you?” Risako remembers Damon talking about something like that, so she figures it’s probably the same situation. Soon Fate’s gone, then back with her... Partner? Risako jumps at the other woman’s sudden appearance, but she doesn’t want to be rude, so the girl quickly straightens her self up to bow. “R.. Risako. Risako Kohiyo. I.. Live in Kohiyo manor a few miles south of Tokyo. In that um... Whatever you call it.” Risako nervously fiddles with the silver ring on her left hand before adding. “J.. Just make sure to drop me off a little bit into the woods around it. If anyone sees you they’ll have so many questions.”
Apollo, rather than immediately attack, gathers mana in his body as he steps to the sidelines and takes on a devilish smirk, some of the anger still residing in him. "No, I don't exactly hate them, Eris. I'm simply a creature of impulse. Doesn't mean I hold a grudge or anything. And besides, I don't exactly stand to gain much from fighting here." By dismissing Eris' attempt at swaying him, Apollo has essentially claimed neutrality, clutching his fists as he plots a devastating attack. Rationale (next magic attack does 3x damage)
Both of them would laugh slightly upon hearing that, Fate speaking up with a slight shrug as her Device begins running caculations and scans within Tokyo based upon the girl's vague but just barely workable desired location. F: "Pff, servants. Nah, I mean we could afford them but I'd rather take care of our own home honestly... Though I won't deny that magic makes it faster, at least some things. Oh and Nanoha, where's Vivio anyways?" N: "Ah, she's out with Einhart at the moment. Last I heard they're practicing a few spells together. Those two are determined to get better than any reasonable standard says they should be." The blonde would chuckle a bit before her Device begins speaking, light gleaming wildly as the three suddenly find themselves just where Risako had asked to be. In a forest not too far from the girl's own home, at which point Fate would absently hand her a small device that seems to be a metal chip of sorts. It doesn't look too different from the golden triangle shape Bardiche has in standby, besides being silver instead. F: "Commuications device, doesn't do anything expect contact people but that offer for lessons is open whenever if you decide you want it. And we... Should probably get ready to head back soon, see you later Risako." N: "Mmm, I'd be happy trying to teach you a few things too sometime if you want. But for now... I guess we're gonna find out whatever nonsense is going on over there after Fate left." It wouldn't take long for the blonde's black lightly armored barrier jacket to reappear, and with what looks a gold tipped spear with a red jewel in hand Nanoha would don a white military-ish uniform that's a sharp contrast to the simple white blouse and pair of shorts she'd had on before.
*Dionysus straightens up his suit.* Dionysus: Alright Eris. If that's how you want to play it, why don't you teach us the rules. Better yet, how about you show everyone an example of Playing Dead. *Dionysus takes one of the vials from his jacket and tosses it at Eris. It explodes on contact, raining fire down upon her.* Dionysus- Molotov (Heavy Fire Damage to one foe. Chance to Burn. Target: Eris)
-Enemy Phase-
*Eris pushes off the burn, extinguishing it with a wave of fog that surrounds her before she vanishes. Apollo would still here her voice.* Eris: But you already know that they look down on you. Someone as powerful as you. Are you going to let them push you around? *Eris reappers behind Skymin and places a finger to the back of his head. A sudden sharp pain fills Skymin's head along with a high pitched ringing. His vision distorts, making him unable to tell friend from foe. Eris giggles before dancing around him and floating back in the centre of the room, eyeing everyone with anticipation.* Eris Moves Persuasion Madness (Heavy Psy damage to one foe. High chance of CONFUSION for one turn. Target: Skymin) CONFUSION: Unable to tell friend from foe. AOE attacks will hit friend and foe alike. Single target moves will hit a random target. Lasts one turn.
-Player Phase-
(edited by -Dionysus-)
Apollo chuckles dismissively at Eris second attempt at persuasion, patiently keeping an eye on her as she moves around the room. "Well, Eris, the thing about strength is: You need to know how to pick your battles. If you go out exhibiting your full strength to anyone that challenges you, you'll eventually either exhaust yourself or they're simply learn how to counter it. And besides, strength alone doesn't entitle someone to special treatment. With that being said..." Tilting his head to the side and concentrating his energy, Apollo generates an earthquake in the area which would violently shake the room and pose as an obvious hazard to anyone still around, damaging them with either debris or impact as they possibly topple to the ground. Tremors of the World’s Heart (Heavy earth damage to ALL + high chance to inflict STUN for a variable amount of turns)
*Eris sighs at Apollo's actions as the roof begins falling, the tunnel's structure now comprimised.* Eris: And he thinks himself worthy of the real Polly's name. Ugh. Fine. Be stupid. I'll just do something. Time out. *The room is filled with fog. After it clears, everyone finds themselves outside just as the entire cave collapses from Apollo's stupidity. The magical barrier is still up to prevent escape from Eris' "game". it's just a lot sunnier now. Earth damage still hits the entire party, except Eris who's floating, but it's a lot less likely of stunning. And you know. Instantly killing everyone by burying them in rocks and mud.* Eris: That should fix that. Alright. Time in. Dionysus: What do you know? Eris did something useful for once. *Dionysus pulls out his green bottle and releases the mist around the area.* Dionysus- Life of the Party: Moderately Heals all allies and increases their attack by 1 stage
(edited by -Dionysus-)
Risako closes her eyes again in expectation of the rush that... Never actually came with interdimensional travel. It was simply something the girl was going to have to get used to. When the group arrive they find Risako’s home is closer to a fortress than a house, a sprawling complex that took up much of the clearing that was made for it, with stone walls towering ten feet tall that seemed to come straight from a history book. Easily large enough for several families to live in without even knowing each other was there. It hadn’t really occurred to Risako that Fate had a family. At least her last mentor didn’t, so she felt a little bad about taking up so much of their time. The girl faintly nods to Fate in reply before adding. “T... Thank you both. I’ll keep it in mind.” Before accepting the communication device. She didn’t really want to waste any more of the pair’s time so the girl briefly bows before heading towards the back of the manor, where she would be able to get in to the castle’s garden through a small hole in the wall the girl kept carefully concealed. Just in case.
Apollo would be dumbfounded at Eris' comment, looking at her with confusion. "Worthy of- it's my fucking name! And how was that stupid? A cave-in would end all conflict in the most efficient manner, easily incapitating everyone present. I could've just as easily undone it, at any rate." He would then glare at her irrately, taking an argumentative tone. "Why are you even bothering making a fuss about such a triffling matter anyway? Do you guys just get a kick out of starting shit for the pettiest of reasons?"
“Huh...? What is...?” Skymin falls into a daze. His hovering prevents that earth damage but he’s still scrambled from that psychic attack. There’s... lots of enemies... Apollo is an enemy too so... Everyone is...? RNGesus drives his next target, and that target is Eris. Sunlight is drawn into his body and explodes as a burst of green life energy. After the attack, his scarf is red again and flowers begin to grow around him. Action: Seed Flare (High... Earth damage to Eris? Not affected by her floating at least. 40% chance of reducing magical defense by two stages)
Ow ow ow! Isla put her arms put to help block the earth damage before turning to Apollo. Her eyes were furious. Hey you stupid Sun God watch where you're aiming! Ugh... what's with him, is he taking to take everyone down?! Can anyone do something about this fog? I guess I can sniff and sense her out but she's using it to attack.
F: "Mmm, please do. But for now... We're off, right Nanoha?" N: "Absoultely, let's go!" It doesn't take long for the pair to just... Vanish, an intense aura of power forming around them both as they appear in the battlefield eh, directly behind Eris in fact. Massive waves of Mana flowing between both mages as their Devices build up energy, energy which in Fate's cases is quickly being subsumed into Nanoha's weapon and causing her own power to grow even further. N: "Raising Heart, blaster mode level zero!" R: "Of course master!" The flow of power rushing from Bardiche into Raising Heart would suddenly begin taking the shape of a massive beam of entwined gleaming pink and yellow energy that doesn't take more than a second to complete. All: "BLAST CALAMITY!" The now named spell would rush towards Eris with impossible speed and even if it were evaded, would begin trying to track the woman by curving in mid air. It's an incredbile amount of magical power built up by the simple combination of two already powerful mages who know each other all too well placing a signfigant amount of both their power into a single attack. Though Nanoha now looks a bit worse for wear and has a few scald marks on her hands from the heat building up in her weapon after that. F: "Sorry about having to step out for a bit, wanted to put the weapon and Risako somewhere safe. Also this is the backup I promised!" N: "Heh... Yeah that's me, Nanoha Takamachi, I'd say more but it can wait till we're done." Actions: Blast Calamity, severe (or in this case colossal) Almighty X2 to Eris. Blaster Mode 0, raises all damage dealt by one step, inflicts 5% damage to caster each spell. HP: Fate 100%, Nanoha 95%.
*Due to confusion, Skymin's attack would instead target Apollo. Skymin is no longer confused*
-Enemy Phase-
Eris: Wait, who are y- *Eris is cut off by a sudden double blast, sending her out of the sky. She gets up, growling.* Eris: Cheap shot. *Eris gathers her power into her fog again and fires it as a blast the party, spreading the damage Eris just took back to the whole party. It was split up so no one person would take the same amount of damage but due to the intensity of Fate and Nanoha's attack, it would still put on pressure. Eris would then grab her apple and pitch it, sending it at a fastball at Isla.* Eris Moves Damage Impulse (Medium Almighty damage to all foes X2) Golden Apple (Medium Psy damage. Inflicts Confusion and Rage if the attack hits. Target: Isla) Rage (Forces the user to use a Physical Attack Next turn. Lasts one turn.)
-Player Phase-
Ow! Isla hissed and stumbled from the almighty damage. What the hell, why didn't that laser ki- Isla then fell back from how the golden apple bonked her on the head. THAT'S IT!! Isla jumped at Eris like a lion and clawed her stomach with her claws. Heavy phys damage.
Neither the narrator nor Skymin object to this target result. Skymin finally gets back to his senses when the almighty damage hits. “Huh...? Oh, right! Gotta focus!” He cuts his hand through the fog and sends out a blade of wind towards Eris. Action: Air Slash (med wind to Eris)
Gah, the blowback of almighty energy against them doesn't exactly help Nanoha or Fate's health, but their Barrier Jackets seem to be holding mostly fine despite that slamming into them. N: "Ouch, reflecting damage back at us, and you call me cheap? Talk about not being able to take what ya dish out lady!" Standard tactics again then, Fate rushes forward with her massive blade, aiming to swipe through Eris again and again at an amazingly rapid pace. It's nothing fancy, just well aimed quick swipes that would cause some harm through sheer volume and the user's own strength. Then there's Nanoha's spell, a massive barrage of 16 gleaming pink orbs of magical energy rushes out from her weapon and begins moving towards Eris with a burst of speed. Curiously the attacks are perfectly capable of moving around the swordswoman, and indeed would home in on Eris almost effortlessly with incredbile grace to back up their speed. F: "Honestly kind of hoping you'll quit soon, but don't worry, we can keep this up for a while if we need to." Actions: Fate, Blitz Assault, Light Physical X8. Nanoha, Axel Shooter, Minuscule Almighty X16, cannot be dodged. HP: Fate 85%, Nanoha 85%.
Skymin's attack would have absolutely no effect on Apollo. He would simply give them a look of concern, forgoing all destructive intent. "You okay there buddy? These are gods you're dealing with, and you don't seem particular resistant. You can always duck behind me for cover, if you'd like." Following this, Apollo would listen to Skymin for a response, not paying attention to anything else on the battle. Action: Nothing. HP: I forgot to keep track so i'll say like 80% I guess not sure if he ever got healed or anything.
*Due to her blurred senses due to Confusion, Isla's instead strikes out at Skymin. Isla is no longer confused or enraged.* *Dionysus grits his teeth. "She's making us kill oursleves out here. Urgh. Why must Eris always be such a pain in the neck?" Dionysus takes a purple bottle and blows poisoned smoke at Eris.* Dionysus: Poison Concoction: Medium Curses Damage to all foes. High chance to inflict Poison
-Player Phase-
*Eris grits her teeth as she's buffeted by the hail of attacks, the wind parting the fog for a second before it reforms.* Eris: You don't get how this works, do you? You mortals are supposed to roll over and die. *Eris seems to be angrier than before. Recalling her apple, she raises it into the air, creating a dazzling light that may disorient everyone who looks upon it. Using this as an oppurtunity, Eris splits in two and seperates, each clone smirking wickedly.* Eris Actions Strife (Medium Psy Damage to all foes. Moderate chance to inflict Confusion.) Illusion (Creates an Eris clone.)
-Player Phase-
The claws hurt slightly less than Apollo’s existence. Skymin, though injured, is just done. “Hey Eris, can you not hit me for a bit? I gotta take care of something. Thanks.” He proceeds to turn around and, with a wide smile, slap Apollo. A blade of wind slices a moment after that slap. Action: Air.... Slash? (Miniscule phys + med wind to Apollo)
Skymin's attack would deal as much damage as Apollo himself dealt to Dionysus, only serving to distract him from the effect of the apple's confusion. "Very well, then. For the sake of raising my combat efficiency, i'll put you out of commission." Apollo thrusts his hand forward, a barrage of sharp concentrated darkness pelting the area around Skymin, threatening anyone hit with impalement. Knives of Night (8x dark medium atacks dispersed among a 2.5m radius around Skymin.) - HP: 73%
(edited by Sunna)
Fate is able to evade the attack, vanishing from sight with an impossible blur of speed. Nanoha doesn't fare quite as well however, and would end up struck directly by the attack, thankfully for her however the shout of her device in her head manages to keep the mage's focus on target for now. The blonde would begin chanting under her breath before a sustained burst of wind appears, rather than a burst designed to damage the enemy this spell's true purpose is blowing away the fog for a sustained length of time and hopefully clearing the field up for them. Nanoha meanwhile focuses on what she does best, long ranged blasting of every enemy in sight. In this case another Axel Shooter would rush towards their enemy and the illusion as her weapon once again glows red hot. The attacks are now spread out between both versions of Eris to hopefully get rid of the illusion, but each one contains a good deal more power as she grits her teeth slighty from Raising Heart's overheating. Despite that though, the woman would begin speaking in a curious tone to their enemy. N: "Roll over and die...? No thanks, we've got plenty to live for so I can't say I'm planning on listening to some stupid order like that. I'm kinda curious why you think that way of us though, what gave you the impression people can just be treated like their lives don't matter Eris?" HP: Nanoha 70% Fate 85%. Actions: Blaster Mode 0. Axel Shooter, light almighty X8 to both copies of Eris. And Fate shall try to get rid of the fog for at least a while.
Hey! Isla after her rage fell off finally began to see more clearly. Apollo might be one of the strongest people here, so we need him to help fight Eris. Apollo! Could you please stop attacking your team mates and help us fight Eris? We need your strength!
Cat's got a point. Focus you two. *Dionysus pulls out another molotov potion and tosses it into the air. It shatters, raining fire down on the two clones.* Dionysus: Cluster Molotov (Heavy Fire Damage to all foes)
-Enemy Phase-
*The Eris clone on the right shrugged at Skymin's request.* Eris #1: Sure. Go for it. Eris #2: Works with me. *The multi powered attack rains hell on the two clones however, neither seems to flinch. With a smirk, they glance at each other. One vanishes while the other surrounds itself in mist, preparing something. The mist forms a barrier however. Only a powerful combination of attacks will get through it. The second clone appears behind Isla and does what the main Eris had done to Skymin earlier, sending a splitting pain through the cat girls head and dulling her senses, before sliping back into the shadows* Eris #1- Fog Barrier (Enters CHARGED state. If enough damage is done, knocks unit out of CHARGED state and inflicts STUN for 1 turn) Eris #2- Madness (Heavy Psy damage to one foe. High chance of CONFUSION for one turn. Target: Isla)
-Player Phase-
Apollo looks away from Isla, showing signs of irritation and disinterest. "Why do I have to fight them? Because they are deemed evil and I would be good for doing so? Will I simply be locked in ceaseless conflict for choosing to stand for anything?" He would look towards the barrier that kept them trapped in, musing to himself as he ignored everyone else trapped with him. "No, I only seek to protect those who I can enjoy being around. I'm not fighting another person without a good reason."
N: "... Alright then, guess I can't let you finish getting ready. Raising Heart, full power full throttle!" The blonde mage actually [b]winces slightly upon hearing her partner screaming out that little phrase. It's almost never a good sign for one's enemies, nor for Nanoha's health. A concern that would be proven entirely two valid as two floating metal objects rush out from the woman's device and suddenly begin gathering up just as much magical power as the white devil. N: "STARLIGHT BREAKER!" Turned into a horribly powerful weapon and tripled as her weapon burns into flesh and vents a massive amount of steam. Despite looking far less powerful than its counterpart though, Jet Zanber is still quite the deadly attack and coming from a woman with already incredible speed and attacking power that would hopefully leave Eris reeling for a moment. Actions: Nanoha: Blaster mode level 2, does not enhance the power of Nanoha's spells at all. Casts each spell 2 additional times, consumes 25% HP each spell. “I’d say you’re the bad guy, Apollo.” Skymin flies upwards, but some spikes still scrape his legs. He tosses a blue berry into the air and chomps it, healing his injuries in seconds. He spits out the remains and crosses his arms. “I’m not leaving you alone until I get an apology for trying to kill us all.” Action: Self heal
Apollo frowns at Skymin with displeasure. "You're trying to wrest an apology out of me? I already said before, you would not die. I have complete control over my powers and I could easily keep you alive no matter how much earth you're burried under. Is it just that you lack faith in your fellow men? And besides, you should apologize to Eris for not leaving sooner. What kind of world do we live in where a little, pretending to be innocent, girl is so ruthlessly interrogated in their own home?"
Apollo! She's attacking us and trying to kill everyone! She even attacked us first why is this an argu- Isla turned to Apollo, making her unable to sense Eris behind her in time. WEAK! Isla fell down with her eyes dazed and stunned. knocked down.
*Dionysus eye twitches at Apollo'scomplaining.* You. Brat. Would you stop with your stupid, immature, little tantrum and focus on the god damn demon woman trying to kill us? Enough with your pouting and your whole "my powers are stronger than anyones" bullshit. Use those oh so holy powers of yours to help or use them get the hell out of the way cause all you are right now is a problem I do NOT need right now. *Dionysus puts up his guard* Dionysus: Divine Retribution (Guards and waits for an attack)
-Enemy Phase-
Eris #1: Ah. Be nice on the toddler, Dio. Sure he sounds like he's being annoying, but he really is- *Eris is cut off by Fate and Nanoha's attacks tearing through the fog shield, sending Eris #1 smashing into the forest floor, dazed. Eris #2 takes her place* Eris #2: As she was saying, he really is helping by distracting all of you. Oh, and Dio, I see you there. Don't think I'm so stupid. *Eris #2, seeing her other self downed, raises up a shield of fog. Dionysus clicks his tongue in annoyance.* Eris #1: Stunned for 1 turn Eris #2: Divine Retribution (Guards and waits for an attack)
-Player Phase-
“...Oh right, we were fighting them. One sec.” Skymin makes a finger gun at the fallen Eris and forms a green energy ball. That orb flies at her and explodes. Action: Energy Ball (high Earth to Eris #1)
Apollo breaks out in hearty laughter at Dionysus sudden change in tone, smilingly at him mockingly all the while. "Ahaha! Oh, i've been waiting to see that reaction! That's just the kind of performance that earns you a couple free attacks, old man!" Apollo stares at Dionysus with a murderous grin, crossing his right arm against his chest and slamming it to the side, causing a large rock modeled after Earth's Moon to materialize in the air above Apollo. This would influence any aquatic matter present on the field to Apollo's benefit, acting as an extension of his will. It would also exhibit a peculiar sense of gravity, causing small chunks of grass and dirt to revolve around it. It also could natively repel certain attacks and had sufficient endurance to withstand quite a bit ordinary attacks. Once it was summon "Eris, you should know I specialize in fortitude and protection. I highly recommend you use your powers of confusion on me to leave the enemy unguarded." Apollo: Summon Lunar Icon Lunar Icon Passive: All allies, save for Dionysus, have their water, ice and earth skills boosted by 25% while their resistences for those skills are raised by 25%
With one stunned, and the other defending... Now seems like a perfect moment to catch their breath and get back into fighting shape. Nanoha would simply focus upon healing herself, magical energy quickly rushing through the woman and reinforcing her Barrier Jacket after burning away much of it fueling her attacks. Fate on the other hand sees Isla struggling to stand and would rush over, both offering her a hand up and aiming Bardiche towards the young woman with a slight wince. Glowing soft blue light rushes from the sword and covers Isla, starting to alleviate the worst of her wounds. F: "You doing alright? That last hit looked pretty bad so I figured you could use a hand, if you don't need any more help though I'm gonna get back to hit... Hopefully we can knock this woman out soon." Actions: Nanoha used Physical Heal, Nanoha's HP returned to 85%. Fate used Physical Heal on Isla, Isla regains 40% HP. We are not healers, but i'll have to do.
Thanks! I really thought that was it for me haha... Isla dusted herself off and groaned. Isla kept her claws pointed at Eria and dashed at her. She turned right in front of her and moved her tail like a whip to attack her. Medium Curse Dmg
Now what is he doing... *Dionysus pulls out a purple bottle opens the top and rolls it over at the Eris'* Dionysus: Poison Fog (Heavy Curse Damage. Medium chance to poison)
-Enemy Phase-
*Eris' fog deflects Isla's attack. Eris giggles as the fog swirls around her before blasting her with holy energy, launching the cat girl into the air* Counter: Divine Retribution (Unavoidable Severe Almighty damage to the person who attacked Eris #2 first) *Eris number one groans as she gets up. Her form seems like it's glitching out, releasing a large amount of fog before vanishing completly. The fog travels to the now revealed to be real Eris and surrounds her.* Eris: You guys are doing well. I'm impressed. Somewhat. I think I should reward such rampant perserverance. *Eris floats in the air, surrounding her self with a shield of fog. The fog is even thicker than when the clone tried the same move earlier.* Eris: Fog Barrier+ (Enters CHARGED state. If enough damage is done, knocks unit out of CHARGED state and inflicts STUN for 1 turn. Increases Defence by two stages and Resistance to Physical, Gun and Almighty attacks for 1 turn.)
-Player Phase-
Ah! Isla fell onto the ground harsh and groaned. Sorry Fate it backfired right away... Isla got up and started to charge at Eris again, this time she used her claws to scratch twice at her stomach. Heavy phys dmg x2
(edited by ita-Isla)
Apollo raises a brow at Eris as she covers herself with fog, finding her praise undue "Impressed? Why would you be impressed? Anyone could fight like a demon if their life depended on it. Besides, you're pathetically awful at fending off multiple enemies at once." Apollo then walks up to the fog barrier, glancing it over with slight curiousity before turning to Dionysus. "As for what i'm doing, isn't it obvious? I'm going to subdue Eris so I can have a little chat with her. I wassss just going to let you guys do that for me, but your reaction was just so funny it managed to get me into the fighting spirit." Apollo then focuses on the barrier once more, keeping his gaze locked on it as he thrusts his right hand forward and assaulting the barrier with darkness fashioned into cutting blades. As he does, his icon then harnesses the light shining down on it and reflects it in the form of a concentrated beam burning anything in its path with intense light. Lunar Icon Passive: All allies, save for Dionysus, have their water, ice and earth skills boosted by 25% while their resistences for those skills are raised by 25% Apollo: Knives Of Night (4-6x light dark damage dealt to the single random foe) Lunar Icon: Kougadyne (Heavy Bless damage dealt to the only one foe)
“Thank you, Mr. Moon.” He specifically thanks the Lunar Icon instead of Apollo. Skymin draws solar energy into his body and releases it as a burst of seeds and green light, hitting Eris. The seeds cling onto Eris and those that fell to the ground bloom beautiful red flowers. Action: Seed Flare (Med Earth dmg, 40% chance to drop mag def by two stages)
As another cartridge clicks out from Fate's blade the mage winces slightly, it doesn't hurt her much yet but she's still overloading her system a bit. Even so, letting up now of all times seems like the worst possible option and so her extending energy blade would keeping on slicing, not even slowing down in the slightest bit from Eris's barrier. Cutting past barriers is the entire purpose of Jet Zanber as a spell after all, well that and cutting victims in half but Eris seems rather resistant to being cleaved in half through her chest as Fate is currently attempting to do. N: "Full power once more Raising Heart, break shoot!" The added floating devices would once again shoot forth from her weapon, and a signifant amount of magical energy rushes forward around Nanoha's device in mere moments. This particaul spell is another massive beam of energy, though somewhat less powerful in terms of raw strength it too bears the advantage of being espeically potent in breaking through shields and barriers, a fact which would hopefully come in handy as the wave of power quickly engulfs Eris entirely for a moment. By the time their attacks have finished, both mages would be staring across the battlefield watching the dust settle with wary eyes. F: "... Honestly kind of hoping that got her, though somehow I doubt it too." Actions: Nanoha, Blaster Mode level 2, casts Nanoha's spell two additional times. Exelion Buster: Heavy Almighty X1 to all foes, ignores resistances and defenses. Fate, Jet Zanber: Severe Physical X2 one foe, ignores resistances and defenses. HP: Fate 75%, Nanoha 55%.
*Dionysus shakes his head.* Whatever. As long as you're helping now. *Dionysus pulls out a yellow bottle and opens it. The fog surrounds his allies, excluding Apollo just to spite him, filling his allies with new energy.* Dionysus: Party Hard (Increases all allies attack and defence by 1 stage. Excludes Apollo.)
-Enemy Phase-
Eris: Crud... *Suprised by the sudden attack from Apollo and Fate's defence piercing blow, Eris is once again blown back from her fog barrier. She groans, trying to get back up to her feet.* Eris: Of course you chose now to stop sulking Eris: Stunned

Now is the time to strike! I'll make you acknowledge that I scratched you! Isla swung her claws at Eris' stomach quickly since she was already in front of her. Heavy phys dmg x2
“This is our chance for an all-out attack! Hiyah!” Skymin charges an Energy Ball between his palms, then thrusts it out Hadouken-style. Action: Energy Ball, high Earth, yeah
Apollo crosses his arms and looks at Eris with disappointment. "Understand that this is for your own good." He points a finger at her, his icon taking on a crystalline sheen as it envelops Eris in a field of chill. He then swipes his hand across the air in front of him, shards of stone forming in an arc around him before propelling towards Eris. "And don't worry, I won't hurt you any more than I have to." Lunar Icon Passive: All allies, save for Dionysus, have their water, ice and earth skills boosted by 25% while their resistances for those skills are raised by 25% Apollo: Mamagnadyne Lunar Icon: Bufudyne
All these high-powered attacks... And she isn't done yet, the two mages would shoot each other a smirk before pointing both their weapons at Eris from opposite sides of the field, and after the rest of their allies have slammed into the woman they'd spring their own attempt into action. First magical energy from Nanoha's spear springs to life around the goddess, gleaming blue and forming an almost crystal-looking cage around her, the woman would find her magical power having a rather tough time flowing through it. If she were at full strength there's no doubt she could break the spell regardless, but hopefully with all these wounds it will slow her down some. Secondly, electical energy would rush wildly from Bardiche and flow into the Crystal Cage formed around her. Power settling within it and doing nothing... So long as she isn't trying to apply any power to the cage anyway, whenever she does Eris would find horrible arcs of lighting coursing through her body. There's no guarnette it'll actually hold her, but at the worst she'll suffer for escaping. At best, this might be over. F: "We'd all prefer if you just give up now, though we can keep fighting if we have to I suppose. If you were a human I'd probably call this cruel and unusual punishment, but I don't play softball with self-proclaimed detities." Fate's tone and face are cold as she stares down the caged goddess, weapon arcing a bit as she glares slightly. Action: Shocking Crystal Cage, attempts to capture enemy by cutting off the flow of their magical power. Electrocutes victim for severe Elec should they apply any magic against it despite that.
*After getting battered by the enemy assault, Eris would slowly get up. Noticing the electric cage around her, she would snicker.* Eris: Ooooh. This is new. Dionysus: Give it up Eris. You're through. *Eris shrugs* Eris: Man, you guys are so boring. I just wanted to have a bit of fun. *Eris smirks before sitting down with her legs crossed, repeatedly tossing her golden apple in the air and catching it.* Eris: Well. You got me. Go on. What do you kids want?
-Battle over-
Apollo perks up once the battle ends, despite giving Fate and Nanoha cold stares "Gotta say, you little magi have some pretty neat spells. I might have to develop countermeasures just for 'em." He chuckles before turning back to Eris, giving her a stern look. "Ah, I actually have a few things i'd like to talk about, but first, would you mind transforming back into a child? I find that form to be more... pleasant."
Ugh, why do so many people have such big egos? What is it going to take to make them say at least "You pushed me farther than most."? A nuke? Isla sighted and scratched behind her two red cat ears. I don't really have anything much to ask you personally. I'm going to stand here and wait to attack you when you somehow escape. I can write the article from the questions everyone else ask.
“I just wanted to go home. I would have done that, but you threw a tantrum.” Skymin pouts.
Fate would snap her fingers upon hearing Skymin mention going home... Right, the barrier is still up around this place. How annoying, given she's above torturing people to try and make them obey the woman would simply sigh heavily while aiming her Device towards the magic Eris had placed to try and trap people. F: "Oi, Nanoha, gimme a hand with trying to tear this stupid thing down would ya? And I'd prefer if you didn't do that Apollo, arms races are never fun for anyone involved after all. And I can assure you, it'd start an arms race on our side too. " N: "Ah right, guess she does still have it up. Let's see if we can't do something about that then... And Fate's right there, we'd have a bunch of problems if you went and started something like that Apollo. Now!" All: "BLAST CALAMITY!" The machines, the mages, all their voices would sound out wildly as power finishes charging up and the same display of power that had blind sided Eris when Nanoha joined the battle would appear again once more. Instead of aimed towards the goddess this time the vast manifestion of magical power would be focused upon trying to break through her defenses and create a hole through which the barrier can be left by smashing the truly overwhelming display of power which burns away even the ground near it and leaves a crater behind from splash damage. If it works or not.
*Eris shudders at Apollo's request.* Eris: Ew... *Dionysus smirks at Isla's request* Dionysus: Yeah. Go ahead and tell everyone two greek gods had a fight in a random ass cave somewhere. Let's see how many people believe you *Eris then laugh at Fate's attempt to break down the barrier. Despite the crater left near the point of impact, the barrier doesn't weaken. If anything, it seems stronger.* Eris: Oh come on. Did you try to destroy a magical barrier with more magic? You're just fuelling it at this point. *She looks down at her nails.* Eris: But if you really wanna go home, I'm feeling generous. Release me from this cage and I'll drop the barrier for you.
The woman would glare slightly, sighing heavily as she stares at the goddess and then Dionysus. F: "What possible reason do we have to buy her word? You're a god too, aren't you. So can't you remove this barrier somehow, or is it beyond your power? We can figure out something given enough time, though it would probably be a pain to do..." N: "Mmm, stupid mistake to think magic could tear it down of course. At least not in such a brute manner... We have other choices we can try, and I don't exactly see any reason to take this woman at her word either." They'd simply begin toying with their Devices a bit, it is made of magic after all... And they do know things that can harm and negate magic, stolen tech mostly but eh. It might just help, more likely to be of use than trusting a proven liar at any rate. F: "Anyone have other ideas though? I'm open to suggestions given trying to figure out things via experiments might take some annoying amounts of time."
Apollo blushes at Eris' response, looking around the room as if trying to avoid making an awkward situation worse by saying the wrong thing. "Uh... um- so if you guys are Greek gods, what are you doing in Japan anyways? Did you guys have to get Passports or could you just teleport in?" Apollo seems to dwell on his own question, realizing just how little he actually knew, both about gods and international travel. He remembered something called a VISA that some people used on television
“Hm... no idea. I guess we can free her if we’re not taking her with us? Oh, or maybe we can threaten her with having to talk to the creep!” ...He means Apollo.
YEAH MAYBE I'LL ALSO TALK ABOUT HOW A MAN HAS WINGS AND HOW THERE'S A OFFICER FROM SPACE HERE NAMED "FATE" AS WELL! YOU KNOW WHAT?! Isla took out her camera and took a picture of Dio and Eris. MAYBE PEOPLE WILL BELIEVE ME.
*Eris looks bewildered at Apollo's question.* Eris: I mean... yeah? We're gods? Human laws are for humans. As long as we don't annoy the Shinto, we Greeks can move as we please. *Dionysus just rolls his eyes at Isla before looking over at Fate.* Dionysus: Nah. Eris is pretty strong when it comes to magecraft. Even among the Olympians, not many can unweave a curse Eris has cast. But there is...ugh...one person. Gimme a moment *Dionysus sighs before reluctantly going for a cellphone in his trouser pocket. With the press of a button, rainbow colours slowly roll down the screen. He walks away from the group.* Dionysus: Yo. Iris. Yeah, it's me. Listen, Eris is being a prat. Yeah, I know. Not much of a suprise huh? *Dionysus laughs hearily at the person on the other side of the phone. Eris looks confused.* Eris: Iri... Wait, who is he- AH! *Eris stands up, grabbing at the cage bars.* Eris: DIO! DO NOT CALL HER IN! ANYONE BUT HER! Dionysus: Yeah, I need... Gran's help with this. Yeah... Yeah, I know. But she's the best we got. Her barrier absorbed some real powerful magic. It'll be tough even for Auntie to burn through so... could you. Thanks. I owe ya one. *Dionysus hangs up and sighs.* Eris: NO! COME OOOON! WHY! Dionysus: Last resort. I didn't want to either but It was your own damn fault for being so upidy. *Eris puts, dropping back to the ground in a huff. Dionysus leans against the caved in cave enterance.* Dionysus: I'd back away from the wall if I were you, mortals. Gran Hecate can be a bit... rough.
Isla walked to the walls of the cage and leaned against it to slide down like the smol bean she is. She then pointed her camera to the sky and set it to ACTION TAKE.
(edited by ita-Isla)
“Oh boy, I gotta see this!” Skymin sits down as well and awaits the metaphorical (or possibly literal) fireworks.
Apollo seems equally bewildered at Eris' response, unaware of the fact that gods didn't follow laws. "Shinto... that would refer to me, right? My mother was one of those, at any rate." Then Dionysus calls someone on the phone, seemingly out of desperation. Apollo notes this in a monotone voice, cocking his head in Dionysus' direction. "Ah, how conserning." He then shakes his head, continuing to ignore the situation at hand as he attempts to continue his conversation with Eris. "So, do most gods think like that or something? My generation seems a lot more gentle-natured, in comparison. Then again, you guys are ancient."
*For a few minutes, nothing would happen. Then, those who could sense it would feel a sudden powerful magical signature appear near by. A few seconds later the wall Eris set up would crack and shatter, kicking up a cloud of dust. A wicked cackling could be heard beyond.* ???: Is that weak thing what you were havin trouble with, Dionysus? What's the matter? Losing some of that godly strength? Or are all those parties making you flabby? Dionysus: Hello. Gran. *Dionysus sighs. Eris turns around and tries to supress her presence. As the dust cloud settles, two figures can be made out. One is an old woman in a red cloak leaning an gnarled wooden cane. The other is a far younger woman in a suit who's long hair seems to shift between colours in the sunlight. The younger woman, Iris, bows places a hand on her chest and bows to Dionysus.* Iris: I brought Lady Hecate as requested, Lord Dionysus Dionysus: Preciate it Iris Hecate: Heh. So, what is this parade of misfits I see before me? A pair of sub par magi? Some woman dressed up as a cat? Some winged youngster? And the last one just eminates a foul aura. Is this the best you could get, Dionysus? Dionysus: W-Well I- Hecate: And you, Eris. *The girl in question flinches. She slowly turns around, the corner of her mouth twitching into a nervous smile.* Eris: H-Hey. Gra-I mean Teacher. W-What are you doing here? I was just out on a strll and- Hecate: Don't lie to me, child. Iris has told me what you did. Can't you stay out of trouble for one decade? Eris: W-Well I um... Hecate: And getting caught in such a piddly magic trap. I thought I taught you better. *The old woman shakes her head before looking over at everyone else, giving them a warm smile.* Hecate: Ah, my apologies, dearies. It seems my pupil and great grandson caused you a spot of bother. Please do try and forgive them for their foolishness, would you.
(edited by -Dionysus-)
Skymin flutters to his feet and smiles at Hecate. “It’s fine. Thanks for getting us out of this barrier, ma’am.” All’s well that ends well. Hecate can deal with these two.
(edited by Skymin)
The appearence of two more gods causes Apollo to grow nervous, making his speech more stuttered and less confidant. "Ah, that's... more gods than i'm comfortable dealing with. And 3 i've never even heard of. Just my luck." Apollo would timidly approach the pair of gods that just arrived, staying a comfortable distance away from them as he addresses them. "M-my name is Apollo... -no-kami. It's... nice to meet you. ...Er, was that too upfront? I don't have much experience when it comes to socialization."
Fate would simply nod a bit, with the barrier gone at the very least she can go back and get the spear... Unless it was somehow stolen by someone else, despite her being the only one aware of its location. F: "It isn't a big deal, I've dealt with worse things than this before... At any rate I'll go retrive something now." Nanoha would have to think for a moment before recalling exactly why the other mage is vanishing, and would simply stick around till Fate returns several seconds later. Hopefully with the spear in hand, though if our GM has other plans for it that's fine too. I'll simply wait till he responds and I know if we still have the item in question before going further.
Oh wow.... Isla took a photo.
*Hecate looks at Apollo in amusement. She cackles.* Hecate: Dionysus, I like this one. He's funny. *She walks over to the cage and places a hand around too of the bars. The cage seems to react but Hecate seems unbothered, absorbing the magic from it in a matter of seconds, pulling the spell apart.* Hecate: Not bad. But not good enough. *As Hecate grabs Eris by the scruff of the neck, the young girl walks over to the returning mage and extends a hand.* Iris: Lord Poseidon's Trident, if you would please. *Dionysus pushes off the cave wall with a heavy sigh. He nods at Fate, signalling his approval of giving the stolen item over to the girl with the strange hair. Dionysus himself fumbles with some bottles in his jacket.* Dionysus: Well, this was a mess. Here, for your efforts. *Dionysus offers his mortal allies a black bottle. He grins.* Dionysus: Maeneid's Wine. Enjoy it.
(edited by -Dionysus-)
O-oh wow... Isla took the bottle. Thank you so much I... I promise to write a good article about you! Isla turned around and ran back to town, waving goodbye.
(edited by ita-Isla)
Skymin’s not the drinking type, but a reward is a reward. He takes the bottle and waves goodbye. After a running start, he’s headed off into the skies. That was certainly an adventure.
The blonde woman would indeed hand over the weapon, hopefully it will be returned to its proper owner and this can all end at least for now. As for the reward, both mages would take a bottle with slight grins on their faces. F: "A mess indeed, it's over now though and that's the important part... Can't say I expected to get involved in anything like this just doing a minor side job, but it was actually pretty fun in the end." N: "Fun... Heh, not wrong there partner~ I haven't gotten a good solid workout like this in a while honestly, anyway I guess we're drinking tonight! See you all later, maybe~" Magical wine made by a god isn't exactly something they expected to be trying tonight, but sure why not. With the item returned and their reward accepted the pair would simply vanish from sight once again, heading back into their home and simply relaxing for now with all the violence over.
Apollo would perk up upon being complimented, some of his nerves being settled. "Heh, I guess I am pretty funny. Well, no use lounging around out here. Be seeing ya, Eris." Should Apollo be considered one of the "mortal allies" whom Dionysus each gave wine to, he would politely accept and keep it with him. Otherwise, he would disappear in a flash of darkness, returning to his humble abode.
Dionysus: And there they all go. *Dionysus breathes a sigh of relief.* Dionysus: This job was such a pain. I need a drink. Iris: Should I inform the other regulars, my lord? Dionysus: Do just that, Iri. I'll hold a party that blows the walls of Olympus tonight. Ah ha ha. *With a small smile and a bw of her head, Iris vanishes in a rainbow coloured mist. Dionysus turns to Hecate, still holding the pouting Eris in her right hand and her cane in her left.* Dionysus: 'Preciate the help, Gran Hecate: Aw. It's always nice to see the grankids. Now then. I'll return this one to Olympus and be on my way. Baba has invited me over for tea. Dionysus: Heh. You old ladies enjoy yourself. I'll deal with this. *In a flash of light, all the gods vanished, leaving only a slight opening and caved in hole behind in the silent forest.*
