@Holy_Grail I am above other humans by this point. I have ascended above the masses and have obtained the power to use them for my own benefit. I don't care if that brings their ruin, that is no matter to me. And also cup, I WILL hold onto my fate and neither you or the Phantom Theives will stop me from achieving my goals. You may be above the masses but you merely sit atop a throne of them. As long as your boat sails on the waves of the people all shall be well .....but what happens then? @Holy_Grail What makes me different? I HAVE the power to follow through with what I say, and I will not be tossed aside so easily! I will make a lasting legacy on this country and that legacy will keep the ignorant masses in their place. My boat has always been in dangerous waters, simply because I have had to prove my dominance over the world, which I have done time and time again. So yes, I DO think I can win. I will steer this country the way I want it, not how you want it!

And now that I think of it , I think yaldaboath has more in common with him . As a being wanting to institute order over mankind rather than just blatantly destroy it .

I can see what you mean by that, Justine. I suppose they both do have similarities in that aspect. However the reason I saw such a striking semblance between him and Nyarlathotep.. (or me, I guess?) was because of how they both were born from Humanity's corrupt will, with Yaldaboath setting out to grant mankind's wish for Safety and Ignorance, and Nyarlathotep attempting to grant huamnity's wish for destruction. Still, he certainly does have some similarities to YHVH as well, moreso than most antagonists in the persona series.

Well yaldaboath isn't born from corrupt will. He's mostly will gone corrupted? He's their wish to just have someone make decisions for them , make their life easier yeah? But he ends up simply taking control really. But the parallels are there. Frankly you have something similar in 4 also.

Ameno was about mankind wishing it's own destruction , same for nyarl , and yaldaboath​ is mankinds wishes which essentially lead to ruin and self destruction out of pure laziness.

And nyarl I don't think was granting a wish. It was part of a bet with Philemon that mankind would prefer to destroy itself , so he kept trying to lead mankind into it's own destruction. I don't think he was the manifestation of it was he ?

Yeah, Nyarlathotep is more just cheating on a bet. I guess what I really meant was how he himself is supposed to represent the darker side of mankind's collective unconscious. Though now I see exactly what you mean about the differences, seeing how Nyarlathotep is just about outright destruction, where Yaldaboath's ruin wasn't mankind's wish, but a product of it.

Though I feel Ameno Sagiri is more akin to Yaldaboath, since Ameno meant to grant mankind's wish to no longer suffer, and thus decided to turn them into shadows. So in that aspect, Ameno is more like Yaldaboath since the ruin they bring about isn't for destruction but for a live free of pain, which brings about destruction with it.

Indeed so , ameno is just granting the wish of the people to no longer suffer. Which is the same as yaldaboath , he just tries to allow people not to have to make hard decisions.

Both are products of people trying to escape their problems , and the end solution to those problems is to just give everything up
