It was a neat feature, but I don't miss it to a degree that I think about it a lot.

Akira has what would be my weapon of choice anyway (daggers), so.

The original idea behind the MC having multiple weapons was because you could not control your party.
This allowed you greater freedom with what you were doing, and could strategize easier because each weapon had it's own "element".

They removed it for balancing reasons.

Though, I would be lying if I said I wouldn't have died if I saw Joker using Yusuke's moveset with a katana.

I prefer them just having a specific weapon. I never used anything beyond the swords anyway. Joker would look weird with anything except a Dagger in my opinion.
