Let's talk about Mishima
Don't you think he was severly underdeveloped character?

Outside of Kamoshida's arc and few other scenes he's not present in the game. His social link (which is optional) covers more about him than the story itself.

He was degraded to MC's mementos request provider. I had high hopes for him after it turned out he made the in game Phan-Site (which contributed to PTs success) but in the end his role ended here.

What do you think?
He's sexy whatchu talking bout?
He is a cinnamon-roll who should have been part of the thieves.
Iactually made a space like design for him.
Maybe I should make a Persona for him as well.

He deserves more love.
I have not beaten the game yet, though I am fairly close. From what I can tell it seems like I may have had some of the last mandatory interactions with him.

I intend on trying to get his social link to max, and from what I have seen of it so far he's an interesting character with a lot of mixed emotions and motivations. Which is more than what I can get from others.

Considering how what he's doing to help the Phantom Thieves is pretty vital to the story, I kind of wish he had a more active role.
He seriously needed to be a P.thief i thought he was gonna join after the first arc.
I liked Mishima. At first I thought he was really pushy and a little arrogant, but he's a good guy at heart with normal flaws, and was loyal to the bitter end. One of the best character developments of the game.

I particularly liked his moment of badass near the end of his social link. He's a refreshing take on a character that helps out without being part of the action proper.
I love every facet of his character because I've been through feeling like a zero all my life. And seeing him uphold his justice, fall, and realize his errors was amazing for his growth.

TBH: when he first started doing phan site stuff, i was like "wow! When does he get his persona? He's totally gonna join us!" , and I wish he did, however he is crucial even without being in the party.
He was sorta shafted by a more important and aware of things cast.
I really like Mishima... but he reminds me of myself in ways I don't like, so that sadly detracts from his appeal a bit. I still appreciate him tho, and I wouldn't have minded him having a larger role. His character arc through his SL was greaaaat, and managing the phansite must have been really tough on him ;; how did he filter out all the spam and stuff that must have been on the site...
Mishima is a good kid. Don't understand why the game decides to frame him as pathetic, though. I really doubt all those mean answers you have would help his arrogance either - being firm is one thing, but a lot of your answers are sorta...mghkljhf;;

I'm surprised they underplayed Kamoshida's abuse, particularly since the game seems to be a critique of Japanese society. I was guessing he stayed in the volleyball team because he was afraid of disappointing his parents, the pressure to achieve something or at least FINALLY do something with his life...Or maybe I'm just projecting too much? But I feel maybe this is a common feeling in East Asian families, especially if you're a kid with no remarkable talent.

I did like the route they did take with him in the end, however; in some sense, they decided to focus on his past bullying instead. The development of his arrogance was understandable. It's disappointing most people fixate on how annoying he gets instead.

(endgame spoilers) cried when he literally saved the pt's ass from a GOD lol protag almost only gets to be mean to him ever. let him rot, Mishima

random side note, I can't figure out if he was Kamoshida's favorite punching bag or not
Mishima should've been a phantom thief tbh, he was already so enthusiastic about it. Also his s.link benefits are 10/10, exp is always good.
Yeah, teasing is one thing. But they never really treated him as an equal and that bothered me...cause I'm a jerk, even to my friends..but not 24/7
And not getting to see his thief suit and persona is really sad, I'm sure he would've been wicked!
Haha. I always thought if he was a PT, he would have a guardian angel theme...but instead of navigator, I imagined him having shields as weapons.
I thought that Mishima would end up having a palace. During one exchange of dialogue he seemed really full of himself and was trying to take all the credit so I would've thought the last palace would be the whole world with Mishima's distortion making everything to do with the Phantom theives and his treasure ending up being his cognition of the Phantom Thieves themself.
His code name could've been paladin and he woulda made a lot of RPG references like Futaba does
He needs a hug
that's all i have to say
hes eh. I started not to like him when his shadow was basically him being an attention grabber, but I felt bad for him when akira just.. left the shadow. hes a cool character but i have mixed feelings. easily my least favorite character in the game
make that 2nd favorite. fuck caroline
Physically MISHIMA IS ADORABLE. If you ask me, I would have a low key crush on him...What I didnt like about him is like Ryuji, the want recognition by their efforts. Their drives are tainted even in the beginning. I was also a nobody in highschool but I never seek recognition to the point Mishima had become sort of rampant. But got to admit he turned around...so yea. Hes a so-so character
I think that he should have been more major, i get that he don't get a persona, but i think he should have at least been accepted as a Phantom Thief and been let into thier meetings...Cos fucking Sae is in loads towards the end of the game and yet Mishima who is one of the most important characters, is not there. Also there is the fact that Mishima could have been amazing interacting with characters with Yusuke and Futaba more, since thier interactions were so funny when they happened. Thread is also the fact that whenever you hang out with the male characters on events, it is Mishima and Ryoji and then Mishima is barely there and Ryoji takes all the spotlight. He was an amazing character if you talk to him but he could have been a lot more if he was handled better, hopefully we can play as him in dancing all night.
He is also an adorable cinnamon bun, he reminds me a lot of Trisha Cappelletti
Will never forget how futaba asked him if hes an NPC XD i literally thought the same sooo omg..
He's a bland, unattractive, forgettable npc
I agree with most of the positive points on his character here so I'm not going to repeat much. I do like his arc though as a character and do respect him much more by the end once he gets his act together. It does feel limiting for him to have the role that he has and having the dynamic between the boys is fun. Ryuji still a bit of a bad influence on the guy.
