I mean you can say his cases are faked, but he still is a pretty observant and smart guy. He did think to keep the second card (the one with what I think was a Durarara reference; but it might just be a coincidence) when no one else did.

Not saying he's better or worse than Naoto, just saying he's smarter than a lot of people give him credit for.

Akechi didn't really perform many great feats of knowledge. When the same Shujin students are always hanging out (one of them basically shouting he's a Phantom Thief) it's not that hard to solve that mystery. Idk anything about Naoto tho
