Persona 3-4-5
So ive been contemplating making a story of the last three primary games, involving the shadow operatives funding the research of Futaba's mother, I believe this would explain a lot and have interesting implications, ideas anybody?
Ouch, no responses, fine we'll add a shipping if necessary.
Sounds very interesting, just depends on exactly how you wanna do it. The games aren't technically connected (apart from ya know, the whole Persona thing) so it would be interesting to see something like this.

And I would say no to the shipping, we don't want more Waifu wars, I barely survived the last one. I can hear people screaming now.
lol, agreed, although its cannon that 3 and 4 are connected and although subtle the Persona 5 does ref 4, such as Akechi being "The second coming of Detective Prince", and the posters of Rise...
I was debating of the story starting out with Naoto(4) investigating The shadow operatives(3), but comes into heat after Akechi's(5) crimes are revealed, being both famous detectives, investigating Akechi, Naoto finds out about the P5 cast, then realizes that Wakaba(5) research was funded by the Shadow Operatives, then proceed to have Futaba(5) to look into the surviving P3 cast
When I meant not connected I didn't mean like, completely severed in terms of plot (I worded it wrong, sorry, coffee needs to kick in apparently).

It sounds great honestly, and it has a good foundation. How would you handle the Metaverse and so forth? Would this be more down to earth than the games, aka not a lot of jumping around and summoning persona's?

I'm actually quite intrigued about this, if you do end up writing it (which I hope you will), I'd like updates and links please. I promise cookies and hot chocolate in return.
lol, so I was considering handling the concept of Personas either Q or Arena, But with obvious changes such as the trigger for 3 is the gun, 4 is the tv, or maybe I should just use the glasses for convenience, same with 5 instead of app we go with mask(I need to put alot of thought into it.), A possible basis conflict well....something drastic lie the research with the goal of somehow resurrecting P3 Protag Makoto(3)
but a focus should be less about the Persona and maybe more about the Shadow OP's conspiracies, its still in the workshop which is why I made this forum.
So more mystery than Persona, I like it. I think its more about personal preference with something like this. Who doesn't love a good mystery?

I guess you'd have to hear other peoples opinions, or you could write what you want to since sometimes, its best to just do that.
Well I would mind hearing your opinion and thoughts as well, like conceptualize it
Wouldn't *
Switched to phone so everything is annoying to type
Well, to me the basic concept is pretty solid, I like the idea and I like the direction you want to take with it as it really does get my mystery solving brainwaves going (I love mysteries as well so you could probably say I'm slightly bias towards this idea).

Plus I love the ideas of characters from different games/whatever in different series meeting up because it always makes me wonder what would the reaction of 'insert character here' be like if they met 'insert another character' randomly and so forth.

It also feels like you've sat down and thought about this, not had a random idea pop up in your head and then immediately plan to go ahead with it. It sounds like you've put some real thought behind it, and that you've realised where some parts might cause some issues but have thought of ways to counteract it or straighten it out without causing a paradox or simply making it so because you wanna write it.

I'd honestly love to read it.

However I have one tiny issue with it (and feel free to block me and never talk to me again after this because I'm a heartless idiot that needs a good slap).

I feel like resurrection is kinda overdone and just a way for people to bring back their favourite characters without completely getting rid of the reason why they died in the first place. To me, its a simple plot idea, and within the realm of 'fanfiction' or whatever you wanna call it, it's just a way for a person to say 'Oh I loved his character but they died so boo... wait a minute, I can fix that'.

However saying that, its not always as bad as I think its gonna be. Sometimes it can be written really well and it can surprise me (not that I'm suggesting you would sorta just throw it in there as a last ditch effort or anything like that).

Now, I'ma let myself and my obnoxiously long post out, I promise.
Seriously, I'm so sorry about the length of that post. Once I get going I find it hard to stop... ;-;
I think as far as a Shadow Ops story is concerned, Mitsuru and co. always receive reports about the incidents that happen concerning Personas too late to do anything (at least in regards to P4 and P5. They've obviously been doing something right to still be a thing when P4A happens). Them funding Wakaba's research seems like a stretch considering P5 never makes any sort of reference to the Kirijo Group, but don't let my words discourage you. It's a fan fic (or phan fic if that's what you want to call it) and you can take some liberties where you see fit.

To me the Shadow Ops don't really work as a force to drive questionable research since Mitsuru reformed the Kirijo group. But you know what might make sense (in my eyes)? You could use the Nanjo group instead if you're really intent on name dropping an important group for the funding of Wakaba's research besides the random people it really was.

Now if you don't want to go into P1/P2 territory you can have the Shadow Ops nosing around in Wakaba's research because it seemed suspicious but they couldn't find any solid leads to take action without breaking too many laws to cover up.

(Continued in next post. I think it was too long as one.)
Don't worry about how Persona summoning changes between the three games you're basing this around. With P4A it's pretty clear any Persona user can summon their persona the same in the environments of all of the games (Dark Hour, TV World and Metaverse).

I don't know how much this can help you, but don't get discouraged with writing the story. Make whatever changes to things you see fit, but be sure to do your research so you don't get things you aren't altering wrong. Come up with a more solid outline and maybe then come back to the forums to get some more feedback. As a fellow writer I cannot tell you enough how much having a good outline of where you want the story to go helps when writing. I hope I'm around next time this thread, or another on surfaces so I can see what you decide to do. Best of luck to you.
So then after waking up and reading what I missed I have to agree on the resurrection thing being over-used, while Delta
I agree their haven't been too many references to P3 in P5, besides the cult with the fortune teller, after doing some research it appears the Nanjo group and the Kirijo group were connected until P3 when they split and became business partners, although I do wish to have the Shadow Operatives more elusive then previously mentioned with the Kirijo group being more of a front or dummy organization, possibly merging the two groups may help Nanjo and Kirijo groups being merged and then becoming a more public identity to disguise the Shadow Operatives as, their organization was getting heat from The Japanese Government(P4 Ultimax) where Naoto is asked to investigate the Shadow Operatives TL:DR resurrection is over used, Shadow Ops are more secret Kirijo could possibly be a dummy organization, So what do you guys think?
now, that ive discussed it with some other people, we were thinking about the resurrection as the antagonistic goal
but, I am looking for goals or motives
Well, P3 mentioned a cult attempting to bring forth Nyx and the end of the world. In P5 many people worshipped Yalbadaoth, similar to that of a cult. Perhaps they would be trying to bring one of those gods back to kill/rule them.
an interesting point, it could be fascinating to see the cults combine
activate dead-post resurrection.
Hate to step in on mod territory, but please don't bump threads older than a week. It's in the rulez yo.
She's right ya know.
If you must at least try to make the bump post have effort put in.
