I mean, I love Kira's mantra of having a quiet life and I identify with him on some level. Plus his stand Killer Queen is pretty awesome, and it has 3 abilities. Im not for him, I just think he's cool.

I have to agree with first half pro, second half anti. He was actually very clever and had clear yet "justified" motivations. Second half... he became just as hard to follow and hard to understand as his plans and gambits at the time.

And seeing as who the thread is made by, Lelouch is a terrible piece of shit as well, but at least he never lost sight of his original goal of trying to fix the world, and in the end, he actually did it.

At the end of the day, people still die whether they die a criminal or die a free man. Kira is self-righteous on his own but he represents the animalistic side of humans who have been wronged. Of course, it feels good to get back against those who have wronged you but in the end, we learn nothing from petty revenge. I'm not saying forgive and forget but acknowledge and grow up. Even criminals can have a change of heart. Death comes to those who are still idiotic and cling onto their path of destruction. Justice comes without Kira's help. Anti-kira.

Except in Light's case, it's not even a case of revenge. It's nothing more than pure self-righteousness. He found some power and his thought was to, in his mind, cleanse the world. Unlike with Akechi who you could say was manipulated and pushed into doing what he did by Yaldabaoth, Shido, and Society as a whole and knew full well what he was doing was evil, Light had absolutely none of that.

Do you know how often people get framed for things enough the police look into it, even if it goes nowhere? Or have false accusations put against them? Or are the only suspect in a case that ends up going cold?

For Light to be 'just', he would have to be correct every time he killed someone and people make mistakes. When it comes to the death penalty, people get killed only to be proven innocent years after all the time. Sure, he did research and looked people up before killing them, but he was killing more than dozens of people a day so how much attention could he give each 'case'? I'd bet good money that he managed to accidentally kill a whole lot of innocent people too.
