Inokashira Park
*A lovely park is located around a pond, the pond is quite long, but narrow enough to easily see people on the other side.
Upon entry from the nearest train station many shops line the path, selling things from food to toys aimed at a younger crowd
In the western half of the park is a thicket filled with trees whose leaves have begun to change color, indicating fall is soon. Some people are walking through the park, mostly in pairs.
One of the lone figures is a young-man with lavender hair who is skipping rocks on the pond. Some of these rocks make it to the opposite shore, scaring nearby birds.
He seems to be muttering to himself, though all of the couples seem to notice nothing as they pass.*
*A slim man in a black hoodie with headphones on passes by*
Whoa, that's, uhh, Bgammax. I mean, not that I care
*Gamma hears his name and turns around, a rock still in his hand*

Alright, who are you and how exactly do you know my name? I mean, its far from the weirdest thing to happen, but well, this isn't the best day for me. Might be a good idea for you to buzz off.
Uhh, guess i'll, like, die or something.
*Teleports behind himself and stabs himself with a Lincoln park dvd*
Ami
*A high school girl was wandering near the pond when she saw Gamma and a man killed by an edgy CD*

Um.... is this normal....? Or did he just decide the end of the world was too much for him?
*Gamma blinks a few times and returns to throwing stones across the pond*
Yeah, I'm not even going to try to comprehend what just happened there.... I... I'll just move on..

*Several passerby look at Gamma and the other guy, the stream slows, as if people are avoiding the area*
Ami
So, why are you here, edgy guy? Deciding if you wanna be a bad guy or not?
*Gamma shakes his head and turns back around*
I'm not ed....
Dear god, I have been acting super edgy, haven't I? Well, that's not important kid. Life's a lot more complicated than "Good guys and bad guys". I just came here to vent a little.
Ami
Mmhm, mmhm, I know.

My sister says that time is really in flux lately... guessing it's related to all this talk about the end of the world?

You're involved in that, aren't you?
*Gamma sighs and bends down to pick up a rock*
Ok, care to explain to me who you are and what you know about me? Maybe some kinda stalker like that other guy.

*gesturing to the man in a black hoodie*
I really don't get why you're here if.... Y... You're just going to accuse me of something that... Ridiculous.
Ami
I come from the future. I know, crazy right?

You.... don't actually have to believe me, but I know Miggy would talk about you a lot.

And, well, you're not really as bad a guy as you like to make yourself out to be... are you?
*Gamma drops the rock and walks over to a nearby bench*
You're far from the first person I've seen to claim this. I don't really know if any of you are being honest, but I guess it doesn't matter.
I'm... I'm not being a "bad guy", am I? I just.... *sigh* I guess I'm destined to be a loner.
Ami
Bad guy, good guy, I don't get why you and my parents and everyone cares about that. All this fighting, what good is it ever really going to do?

I mean, what are you guys even fighting over at this point?
Well, obviously I can't really speak for anyone else, but it sounds like they fight for the sake of their friends or some crap. What that really means is that they're scared of losing anyone or anything, so I guess they lash out at anything they think as a threat....

As for me, well... Honestly I don't know.... I just kind of... Do, I guess. Maybe its foolish, or childish. But hopefully that much will be over with.
Ami
Well then that's sad....

But I bet you have something you're trying to do by fighting. Everyone does. Even if it's some petty reason like you're bored out in the sticks.

And.... what will be over with...?
*Gamma laughs hollowly for a few seconds before he responds*

I thought you knew? Seeing as you kinda opened the conversation with the end of the world and all. Soon enough I won't have to deal with you, Mig, or anyone else really...
I'll... I'll finally be all alone.
Ami
*She gasps at that statement*

You don't mean you intend to stay here... do you?
*The sound of clapping can be heard a few feet away, and a snarky voice rings out alongside it.*

You know man, if you're lonely maybe you should give dating a shot. Try a meetup site or something. Might make you want to die a bit less, y'know?

*Through a hole in reality steps a slim detective, dressed in his usual dark formal attire, hand on his hip. He turns to Gamma, and flashes him a cocky smirk.*
*Gamma chuckles a little*
Isn't everyone staying here? I most certainly don't plan to die, so obviously I'll have to stop....

*He looks up upon hearing Honoka and sighs*
Speak of the devil and he shall appear. For crying out loud I don't plan on dying. Though, that may be in your schedule, its most certainly not in mine. I don't get why that's so hard for people to understand.
Oh come ON now, if I wanted you dead then I wouldn't be batting for the team that wants to save people, right? That seems pretty counter-productive, if you ask me. Don't worry, I'm not here looking to pick a fight, violence isn't usually my thing anyway. I just thought we should chat.
Ami
The team.....

*she pauses and stares at the detective, slowly narrowing into a glare*

You.... you're that Detective, aren't you.
*Gamma sighs and shakes his head*

Yeah, that might be what YOU want, but you're an idiot if you think blowing this place up will help just because some guy with high-and-mighty ideas said so. If it weren't for the fact I live here I wouldn't mind that much, but I kinda do, so EXCUSE me if I take issue with it.
Oh, you know me? I'm flattered.

*He does a dramatic looking theatrical bow*

You can call me Honoka, everyone else does after all. It's a pleasure to meet you.

*After that, he turns to Gamma with a smile*

You're living in a nuclear factory that's on the verge of a meltdown. A little theoretical change of scenery couldn't hurt you, could it?

*He looks up at the sky, still smiling*

Besides, you don't seem to enjoy this place much anyway, nor the people in it? Where could the harm come in blowing it sky high?
Ami
Honestly, maybe I should ask Sis and Shino about this....

Since we never delt with this when we come from. So there's certainly a solution some way to fix all this.

*she looks up at the sky as well*

And honestly, you say that Mr. Gamma doesn't like this place or the people here. But he secretly likes them, I think. YOU, however, seem content to just destroy everything. And you'll probably try to destroy the next world, too.
*Gamma looks around, irritated*
According to some guy I've literally seen twice who never deigned to lower himself enough to explain, sure, this place is going to blow naturally. Pardon me for considering that as a less than reliable source.

As for this place, I.... I don't really care about it. But seeing as I LIVE HERE, I would kinda like to not explode, thank you very much.

*Gamma casts a sideways glance at Ami*
And I don't need you butting in on my conversations. I.... I don't know what gave you that idea as well.... But its... Ridiculous to say the least.
*The man shrugs*

Go ahead and live in denial all you want, but whether you believe in what I'm saying or not, I'm sure you can tell the pot is going to boil over soon. Everyone's on edge, and sooner or later everything is going to be set in motion, I'd recommend picking a side by then. I'd hate for a smart cookie like you to get caught in the crossfire. As for you...

*He turns to Ami*

I don't want anyone to die, quite the opposite. I...I'm just a normal human. I can't bring forth magical entities or cause explosions with a slight of hand. I'm just myself, but now I've been given a chance to do something. A chance to save people. If I can prevent even one death with this little plan my boss is cooking up, then I'll be satisfied.
*Warps in*
What's this about an explosion?
Ami
Mmhm, mmhm, you want to save people. You're a good natured detective.

*she stares Honoka in the eyes as she viciously stomps the ground in front of her.*

Sure....
*Gamma sighs and shakes his head*
I'm pretty sure I've picked a side. Namely the one that isn't asking me to believe them just because they said "I don't wanna kill anyone". And then proceeded to calmly shoot someone down anyways. Not like she's dead of course, but its the thought that counts.

*Gamma notices Shinji's appearance*
Oh, hey, long time no see. You've missed quite a bit. Some idiots want us to believe that destroying the Nexus is for the greater good. Whenever I ask for evidence I'm simply called an idiot, so I'm willing to bet they don't have any and just want me out of the way.
Destroy? So, I assume they have some way to warp space and time and create a subspace to collapse on itself?
*He waves his hands in front of his face defensively*

Woah, woahwoahwoah. Calm down here, as I said violence isn't my thing. I came to talk. Anyway, you can believe who you want buddy. I really don't care. I'd gladly show you some proof, since I have a way to now, but I imagine your mind is already made up. As for you blue-hair, those are some big words you're throwing out. To make the short of it, get out of this "reality". Staying here will only get you killed.
I have no idea what half of that means, but I do know they're able to get around by slashing through the air and opening a portal. At least that's how Yu ran after I confronted him. So if you end up fighting them, take the weapons fast so they don't just wimp-out of their problems.

*Gamma looks back to Honoka*
Speaking of which, mind handing over, or at least dropping your equivalent of Yu's sword? I'm much less inclined to trust someone who can just run away whenever the consequences of their actions catch up with them.
Those "Big words" means that I actually know what I'm talking about. Unlike you, who can't even seem to explain your reasoning with evidence.

*Looks at Gamma*
Seriously? People are really ripping reality to pieces just to get around? Ugh..... Grand.....
*Gamma turns back to Akamato, eyebrow raised*
I mean, I only heard a vague explanation, but isn't that basically what you do every time you warp? You just don't need a tool to do it for you.
If you want proof, go ahead and ask the boss man himself, I'm just a pawn or something. he won't attack you unless you do it first, so go ahead and talk with him. So sorry though, but I don't think I can give these up. They're kind of one-of-a-kind, and they were a gift anyway. It'd be awfully rude to just throw them out, right?

*He draws two pieces of black metal, a noticeable gem is visible at the tip of each, glowing brightly even in the sunlight.*
*Gamma sighs and shakes his head*

And again all you can offer is the words of some stranger. Not much of a detective, are you? I was hoping you had something that might actually hold up as evidence well, anywhere really.
Instead you're sounding like a cultist. "Just talk to our charismatic leader, everything will be so much clearer once you hear the same thing from him." Honestly Honoka, I question your intelligence.
bombs
(also, honoka go back to being a school idol i miss µ's)
Ah, a place to rest! *Space_Cat sits down on a bench and purrs*
So basically, you admit you know nothing, and blindly follow some leader? Right..... Sorry, I'm a scientist, give me evidence, or you're just pulling crap out of you ass.
*Gamma looks around and notices the bomb and Space_Cat*
And the first people to come around and NOT talk about the world exploding are spaceman and some kinda sentient bomb.....
Somehow I'm not even that surprised anymore.
I came to show you a bit of proof, or at least try to. Here.

*He unfolds one of the pieces of metal, revealing a blade hidden within. He slashes at the air, creating a hole in space itself. On the other side is what looks to be a city, mostly abandoned but seemingly in decent shape.*
Honoka...
*Gamma looks over to Shinji for a moment*

Well, you're our resident dimensional hole expert, or at least the closest one we've got. That place in or outside the Nexus? Seems like an important question to answer.
Ami
*Ami, who had been sitting quietly unti now, looks at the portal*

Oh, wow, you have another world through there. Lemme guess, that's where he wants us to go.

How does that prove this world is doomed? And how do we know know that world isn't just some trap to capture us and rule over us?
What are you doing here?
This is what the boss man calls The Rift, it's like this Nexus place...only without the constant threat of exploding. Look, even if you don't believe me you can't deny that there are constantly gods coming down trying to destroy this place or everyone here. I put my faith in that not being an issue here, not the word of some leader-type.
Shouldn't you be with your master? Or did he finally come to his senses?
You found an alternative? Good for you.
As for YOU.

*He turns the cat*

get outta here. You're making me nauseous.

*The detective sneezes, his cat allergy setting in.*
We're supposed to maintain the Gods in this universe. One gets out of hand, we either take care of it or hire another god to.
Also, it's not my problem you're allergic to cats. I've had a long, tiring day, and i'm not moving from this bench.
Ami
I mean, what's stopping gods from descending anywhere.

You really think crazy evil beings are gonna stop just because you popped the ball we were fighting over and gave us another ball?
*Gamma looks over at Ami*
While it could easily be a trap, IF its outside the Nexus it does at least prove that their leader isn't just some nutjob trying to kill us. If he tries to enforce anything there're enough people against that it shouldn't be a problem.

*Gamma glares at Honoka*
However, I find it hard to believe its anything more than a trick to get us to stop resisting, like you and Yu have. So then, is there any evidence that this "Rift" is actually outside the Nexus, and not another part of it. And that the Nexus will explode, rather than just continue perpetuating itself and bringing in more worlds.
Some parts of the world are out of my jurisdiction, including this one.
That's probably another world. The Nexus is the only subspace of its kind that we've observed.

And almost every world has gods that try to destroy it, so that argument is basically invalid.

The nexus pulls things from all time and dimensions, It's only natural it would pull gods in as well.
Look, this specific...cycle was caused by some god I couldn't give any less of a shit about. Suckoff or something. That in and of itself should put you on edge. Through this hole though, is not only a world made for humans by a human, but one we can keep watch on. That seems like an upgrade to me.
But what if that human abuses it? How can we trust NotIgor?
*Gamma sighs and looks back at Honoka*
Unless that world has also been dragged into the Nexus, in which case it goes with everything else. Looks like somewhere you'd send people just to get them out of your hair. Think Australia, the British sent prisoners there simply so they wouldn't have to deal with the problem. Everyone runs there, away from the Core, then your boss blows the place and everyone with it.

And based on what Shinji said, I'm willing to bet I'm right.
Ami
For humans, by humans, blah blah blah.

What about robots? Or half-breeds? Or nekos? Or people who don't conform to your standard of humanity?

Besides, a world made by people sounds pretty cold and bleak compared to one that was made naturally.
At least there are multiple gods who created this world, who can keep check on each other.
And how can we be sure that NotIgor's ideals please everyone? What if he thinks that a high-tech civillization, with nature completely out of the picture, is what's best?
That's too much power.
Do you really think I was saying "No non-humans allowed"? If you're going to argue semantics, then I have no reason to stick around.

As for this "Nexus", it's creation isn't very pretty. Neither is it's history. I don't know about you folks, but I can get behind the idea of not dealing with the headache-inducing bullshit that comes normally with where we are now. We're offering you a blank slate, a place where we all go after this Nexus place blows for the final time. Come on, he wouldn't blow himself up would he? If his goal is destroying the Nexus, that means no reincarnation. It'd be a stupid plan to kill himself for good for no reason.
Here's a solution. What if the people who wanted to experience everyday normalcy go into the Rift, and the people who want to live exciting lives stay here in the Nexus? There's no need to destroy this world if you've created another one, just leave it.
Stay here and be doomed? Yeah, sounds REAL exciting.
Or do you think everyone's idea of happiness is having a perfect world? Do you know how dull and boring that is?
Oh? So you claim to know its history? And its creation? Inform me, And I don't want words, I want sources, Sources I can check myself, Sources I can confirm.
*Gamma sighs and looks around*

For some people, destroying the place would be good enough. Not everyone has grand ambitions. I.... Can see someone just being sick of everything, wanting to make it go away. Some problems aren't solved by just moving somewhere else. Some things will follow you forever.
Ami
I'm surprised you aren't saying a chance to become as gods, honestly.

After all, first come first served, right? Why, someone could make the Diet Building their own personal palace while everyone who waits squabbles over apartments.

Total societal upheaval....

Still, at least here we can still influence the world somewhat. There? It seems you've already got it all figured out. And it looks like Tokyo, boooooring.
We don't have to be doomed, you know. We can fight for the survival of this world, as long as we stay. You just believe that no matter what, this world will die, when that isn't true.
You better believe that those who are willing will fight until the bitter end. And if they don't succeed, they may just try to build this world again, piece by piece. It may not be an exact copy, but with multiple people working on it, it will cater to everyone.
And if you refuse to help when the time comes, this world will not live up to your standards, and you will not conform with the rest of society, because they shared their ideas and what they want, while you sat down in this perfect world. Perfect for NotIgor, at least.
You let someone else have the power. You didn't do anything about it, and now this perfect world will be ruled under an iron fist. Sure, he may listen to the people, but he still decides how the laws are chosen and made, and he can ignore you.
After this, if you stay, then more and more people will find a way back to the Old World, which has either been saved or rebuilt. They will start anew, creating new ideas. Meanwhile, you, in what you thought was a perfect world, will be destroyed. A world needs conflict to be good. A perfect one will destroy itself from the inside. And eventually, it will become purely chaotic.
And if the Gods interfere, then we united, will drive them back.
Well said.
*claps*
Very well said.
OOC: that was totally deep
Umm... sorry, I got into another one of those speech fits.
So, what are you doing here, Akamoto?
Looks like this is over.
Bye.
*warps away*
Jeez, talk my ear off why don't ya?
Did you listen to any of what I just said?
Fine, fight for a doomed world. See if I stop you. I'm just letting you know that when everything goes to shit that you have a safety net to catch you. If the boss man turns out to be a piece of shit, we throw him out of power. Again, it's the potential safety I put my faith in, not someone else's word.
Ooc: nicely done
My point is, that nobody is going to like this new world. It's under control by one person, it's creator.
*Gamma grins and shakes his head*

The term is a monologue Spaceman. I guess I can see where the sentiment comes from, though I'm not as interested in rebuilding the place. As you are.

Sorry Honoka, I just can't put my faith in the idea that this "other world" is really safe. Not without some reason to believe so.
OOC: thanks, i'm thinking of becoming the new patrick henry
I could tell this was a waste of my time, people like you all never listen to anything but your own speeches. Whatever, I didn't come to convince you all. I came to do this.

*He begins chuckling to himself. He plops the identical copy to his own knife in Gamma's hand.*

I trust you to get these people out when things go to shit, or don't. See what I care.

*He steps through the already closing rift, and for a split second a sinister grin is barely visible on his face before it closes behind him.*
He just won't listen. I should check if he has a Palace later.
@Bgammax A monologue, you say? That's a weird name.
*warps back*
Sorry, you said something to me?
What were you doing here? I don't think you were here before...
I heard talk of the nexus and sciency stuff, given my Mother runs the multiverse science research organization, I thought I would figure out what's going on.
I was just giving a very long speech about the Nexus and the Rift in response to Honoka.
Ami
Man if you really could rebuild this place without wiping everyone's memories, that'd be the best.

But... I think they kinda wanna set off bombs that'd destroy the entire thing, hence giving Gamma that knife there...
Bombs? I'll have to find them before they set them up.
*Enters and sits down under a tree, looking slightly depressed* ...
*Gamma sighs and accepts the knife*

Whatever you say man....
Good grief, is it too much to ask for a quiet day in the park? Well, nothing I've tried recently works out anyways... Guess its a curse of its mine.
Ami
Honestly I guess it's just a lot of people see you as important to their plans.

*blinks over at Rom* Hey... who's he?
*Notices Ami* Oh, uh... Hello there.
Ami
Hey.... is something wrong?
Heyo Rom
Just got a lot on my mind, I guess.
*Rom takes out his notebook and flips through it, a slight smile growing on his face* Well, it's nice to meet you. *Reaches his hand out to Ami for a handshake*
Hey, Shinji.
I don't even do anything, no clue why everyone wants me so badly
*sighs*
I'm just gonna.... Go find a bench somewhere. What a drag...
*And so Gamma walks off to a bench significantly away from Ami and Rom, watching the birds and the trees*
And, no, I was here before that, I was just trying not to laugh at how dismissive and evasive he was being.
Ami
*Shakes the hand*

Don't worry, a lot of us have things on our minds lately. It sucks, all this sucks, when's the true ending again?

I guess I should go visit Miggy in the hospital, too.... *sighs* I hope she's alright, the future wouldn't be the same if she was hurt badly.
*Rom starts writing things down in his notebook, suddenly becoming a bit more intense*
*Akechi notices a group of people in the park and wonders what they were doing so, decides to approach them*
Hi, what's going on around here? Would you mind me butting in too?
I don't mind. The more, the merrier, right?... At least not to Gamma right now...
Welp, I'm out, see ya.
*warps away*
Ami
Hey Akechi.
*looks up from his notebook* H-hello...
*Passes by* What is this place?
*Finishes writing in his notebook* It's about time I should go somewhere else... *leaves*
Hi, is there anything going on at this moment?
I truly find this scenery quite beautiful
Maybe , i can ask these folks where i am...
*Gamma looks over to Akechi*
I sure hope nothing's going on. I just came here for a break and everyone seems after me
* he gives a calm smile to Gamma*
If nothing is happening maybe we could go to a cafe.
I've seen 2 of them on my way here and they seem to be good places, what about it?
*Gamma raises an eyebrow and stands up*

I don't have the greatest history with cafes, but if you're offering well, this place's kinda been ruined for me anyways. I guess I can follow suit.
Alright then, i'm gonna lead the way then
* Akechi walks almost at the end of park where a modest stand with a couple of tables and chairs in front, all of them white*
This is the place, i know it's less than Leblanc but they seem to have a more variety on food and drinks, would this be alright?
*Gamma follows Akechi to the stand and smiles at his concerns*
Honestly, at first I kind of thought you weould try to drag me to Leblanc. That place bets more business than it should, but that's neither here nor there.
Its much calmer out here. I could use this sort of break....

*Gamma blinks a few times*
Sorry, I don't think we've ever met. You can call me Gamma. May I ask for your name?
Surely Gamma, My name is Goro Akechi i'm a rookie detective, i was just taking a day off from investigations and i decided to pass by.
So then, shall we get something to drink at this place?
* Akechi sits on one of the chairs near a table *
*Gamma follows suit and sits on the opposite side of Akechi*
Well of course, that is what you're supposed to do at a cafe.
*Gamma looks at the menu for a while before waving over to one of the workers*
* Akechi waits for gamma to order and then takes a softdrink and some pancakes *
So Gamma, what takes you here in this park in the first place? I'm curious
*Gamma orders some black tea and after blowing on it for a few seconds, begins sipping*
Well, these last few days have been pretty stressful for me, so I came to the park to wind down a bit. *shrug* That didn't work out so well either, but at least I tried.
Oh, so that's the reason *his expression changes to a more plain one* well, i hope this helps a little.
* he drinks a bit and bites some of his pancakes *
*Gamma sighs and looks around*
Its certainly a change of pace. Though, you act like you suspected something more... Grand I guess. Dissapoint you much?
*Warping in, Robin waved at Gamma as he sauntered over*
Yo!
How ya been bro..?
Oh, surely not i hope i haven't offend you in any way but, as an ace detective i always have to be ready if something happens ha ha, and i can't seem to be able to let my habits go not even on my day off.
*Akechi finishes the drink and keeps on biting on his pancakes*
*Gamma sighs and shakes his head, sipping more of his tea*
Sorry about that, I've been a little on-edge lately. For some reason it feels as though the universe conspires to keep me fro-

*Gamma soon takes notice of Robin*
m relaxing. Hello again Robin. I'm doing as well as ever, just a little frustrated.
*Robin grinned before seating himself next to Gamma, throwing an arm around his shoulder*
Man, if you are that frustrated, you wanna spar...?
*Gamma sighs and shakes his head*
That is the opposite of what I want right now. I don't want to hang out, I don't want to spar. I just want SOME chance to relax or at the very least SOMETHING I plan to go right.... Is that really so much to ask for?
*Robin nodded*
Alright, then let's relax.
Hmm...
Parks are your thing huh..?
*Gamma sighs and finishes his tea*
No, not really. But this place seemed much calmer than most cafes, like Leblanc, are. But of course, the weirdness had to follow me here too...
Good grief.
*Finally, Gamma stands and walks back off towards the rest of the park*
Well, it was a lovely chat Robin, but I'd rather be alone for a bit if you don't mind.

*Once he's a good distance away Gamma carefully looks over the knife Honoka gave him*
This knife is probably like Yu's sword, able to open rifts.... I should probably tell Homura about this.... Though of course I'll keep the tool for myself... Once I figure out how it works.
