Lost District
Saeko sits on the corner of a street in a long since wrecked part of the city. The quiet, abandoned street is lined with debris and buildings slowly collapsing, hardly giving a hint that they were used as anything other than a backdrop for a warzone. Despite the damage and hardly pleasing atmosphere, it is a place Saeko seems to visit often. She leans back to rest, pushing her hair back with her hands, the pristine white gloves of her uniform caked with mud. In front of her, in the dirt, are some basic gardening tools. As well as a small circle of white flowers surrounding a single blue flower, all look recently and rather awkwardly transplanted.
* blindly following a faint trail of lovely chi energy, she walks up to the flowers and gazes at them, eyes closed* Hmmm.. They could use some proper gardening..
Surprised by the sudden voice, she turns towards the stranger and blushes a bit. "I... am no gardener." She says as her glance returns to her messy handiwork.
*A boy seemingly in his late teens stops walking right next to Saeko. His hands rest firmly in his pockets, and he turns to the girl next to him with a raised eyebrow.* Pretty flowers, better planting job than I ever could have done, but this is hardly the place for something like this, huh? Judging by the way you're dressed, you really don't seem to be the type to hang around dead zones like this one, what's up?
Hmm. I'll patch your flowers up ! * she opens her eyes and begins digging through the patch of flowers, slowly arranging them to make the flowers more at ease. *
[Kazuma arrives at the scene while clapping, looking at the "small garden" Saeko had in front of her. He chuckles a bit before speaking.] Who would've guessed we would meet again in a place such as this. It's very nice to see you again. [Kazuma waves lazily at her.] And it's nice to see you got yourself a hobby.
*Makoto walks in the area looking around* Damn, how did I end up getting so lost? And where is this place...everythings destroyed. *When Makoto looks in front of her she sees the small garden of flowers and seeing the lone girl* Oh, hello there. *Makoto shyly waves and smiles at Saeko* Thats a...uh...nice garden you have there. Reminds me of when I tried helping my friend help her plant vegetables.
She stands and backs up, witnessing Hong Meiling work as she looks with surprise at the other new arrivals. "Hobby, huh?" She sighs, while glancing around. "This place reminds me of war... After exploring this place, and witnessing that battle from the other day, I cannot help but think that this is a place of peoples lost homes... perhaps lost lives." She returns her focus to the flowers. "I just... felt I should pay tribute, I suppose."
( uh... she's not really lone anymore....)
well then it's a good thing you came across a fin gardener like me eh? haha! * she gives a proud smile*
[Kazuma walks up to the flowers and kneels down. Looking at them with a sense of curiosity.] I see, so people from other worlds also have these rituals to show respect. Maybe it's something all humans have? [He rubs his chin, contemplating the many possibilities.] Regardless, this is very interesting let me tell you. Especially the fact that this is one of the places people just don't fix at all, a real Ghost Town, lost from the minds of people.
I can get wanting to pay respects to the dead, not everyone is lucky enough to live as long as they would like, I guess. *Lowe bends down, examining the flowers for a second before standing back up and turning to Saeko again.* So, are you new around this place? I only arrived recently, it'd be nice to meet another newbie.
*Makoto looks around at all the flowers* Thats very kind of you, and these flowers are pretty. *Makoto sighs as she looks back at the ruinied city* It is sad to see all this destruction. I hope this city's people got out safe...even if some people did die.
Hey, do any of you have water or something like that ?
At the mention of other worlds, Saeko glanced up at the sky. "I suppose so. Different cultures sometimes develop similar customs, so maybe the same is likely of all worlds." She smiles at the flowers, and nods her head in thanks for Meiling's assistance. "They do look nice... I am glad such nice flowers. In my home- My... world, flowers were not so easy to obtain." After staying silent for a moment she turns back to Lowe, realizing she almost forgot to answer. "Yes, that's right. I have only been in this 'Nexus' for a week now, I believe. It seems I've been running into a number of new residents as well."
*Gamma walks by, witnessing the destruction. He briefly takes out a feather and examines it, before he hears Meiling and snaps out of his daze* Oh... Water..... If anyone has a container and some fire I guess I could makeshift it... *Looking around at the others he catches sight of Saeko, and shakes his head* Nevermind, probably a bad idea. The flowers are pretty, I hope it helps.
*Lowe laughs a bit and rubs the back of his head.* Wow, I've only been here for a little longer than that. Maybe two weeks, tops. It's pretty surreal ain't it? All this time spent in one "instance" of reality, and suddenly you realize there are countless. Really makes you feel tiny doesn't it?
Well if you need, I have a bunch of seedlings back at the mansion. You're free to come and get some! Just look for a perpetually frozen lake!
*Makoto looks down at the flowers once again* What was your world like? Its sad you werent able to expirience this type of beauty in yours. *Makoto closes her eyes and sighs* Hopefully you'll be able to see more of this worlds beauty. Theres quite a bit.
( why are you guys not interacting with each-other? it's making things super stiff)
OOC: It might be a bit stiff, but that tends to happen whenever most people focus on one (Saeko in this case) IC: *Gamma sighs and steps back from the group* Well, it looks like you guys can handle anything that comes up. I'll just be around in case anyone needs me. *Gamma walks across the street to lean against a ruined building, where he begins tossing and catching a small shard of ice*
Saeko awkwardly nods at Meiling's mention of a perpetually frozen lake with a look of confusion in her face before addressing Makoto. "My world... is small. I lived in a rather small city, surrounded by desert. When my home... When I left, I came across other small settlements, but they were few and far between. Outside of my home, there was not much to see but sand and the beasts of the desert."
( I can understand what you mean but I don't really see it as an issue, considering Saeko's mostly formal nature and the fact that we're all strangers IC. )
(gamedge being edgy as always) Sounds like you came from a pretty barren place! I'm betting this place is all kinds of confusing to you !
I-I'm sorry to hear that. A world like that seems harsh to live in. I went into a desert only once, and found it hard to be in it. There was also a small town in it, filled with monsters. I couldn't possibly imagine living in it though...it must've been rough... *Makoto glances back at the flowers*
*Gamma pipes up from his spot across the street* Well then, its only fair if we all give a bit about our homes, is it not? *chuckle* Don't want miss Saeko here to be the only one. My home was pretty boring, lived in a small town in the middle of nowhere. Nothing to see for miles but trees. It was peaceful, if nothing else. Though perhaps a bit dull. Everyone already knew each other of course, as small communities tend to. Only thing of note was the lake about a mile out, bit far to walk, but there was never much else to do anyways.
Huh, well since we're all talking, might as well fess'up! I live in a mansion close to a large frozen lake. I live with my mistress, her maids and a close friend of hers. I'm the gardener and gate-keeper of the mansion! * she says proudly* I live a pretty peaceful life !
*a mist appeared around the area and a strange quiet laugh was heard around the area* Kufufufu... *a man appeared walking at this area but it is a little bit shadowy to see, but when he walks a little bit, he was fully seen* So this street is quiet interesting.
*Gamma chuckles when Meiling says peaceful, before catching sight of the mist. He looks around the mist until seeing Rukudo, when he waves over to the stranger* Looks like you're just in time for our wonderful storytellings. We were just starting to get homesick. Care to join us?
"Your worlds both sound so unique... It may have been dull, Mister Gamma, but as you said, it was peaceful. The gardener here also seems to know peace well." Saeko almost seems like she's holding back tears. "Peace... is something I rarely had the pleasure of experiencing. The beasts made it difficult... For all of us."
Well, peace is a big word when you talk about my world. There's always some youkai or other committing mischief here or there.
I guess I can share a bit of my world, though really it's nothing special. It was peaceful, I guess. Truthfully, I didn't think magic or anything like it was real, thought it was all something out of a video game, you know? Then, one train derailment and deal with some guy with white hair later, and boom. I'm here, and suddenly have the ability to fight. It's been a long learning process, haha.
*mukuro laughs with his quiet laugh* Kufufufu... And which storytelling you want me to listen?
*Gamma sighs and looks around the street once more. He takes a moment, studying his crystal intently, before responding in his usual, monotonous tone* Trust me, peace is kinda overrated. Sure it can be pleasant, but its also really boring. *chuckle* Guess its true what they say. Never know what you have until its gone. *Gamma looks back at Lowe, as though studying him for a moment, before looking back to his ice* You're never really done learning, but that's alright. Simply hang with it, and you'll eventually get somewhere. *shrug* Or not, after all, maybe there's no need to go anywhere.
*Makoto puts her hand on Saeko's shoulder* I'm sorry you had to live such a hard life there, it seems...terrible. To live in a world like that, a world with no moments of peace...I couldn't imagine that... *Makoto smiles at Saeko* I hope you can find some peace here. Even if there are fights, that do happen here...you deserve some peace.
Iceman is right! You can learn something new every day! Sometimes even multiple somethings!
Iceman? I could have sworn my name came up..... *Gamma sighs and shakes his head* Regardless, there are some new faces here, so I suppose sharing names wouldn't be amiss. *Gamma steps into the middle of the street, as though presenting himself to the world* Name's Gamma, or at least that's what I like to call myself. far from the most popular thing to call me unfortunately, but well, it is what it is.
Oh come on! You know I'm just teasing you Mister Gamma!
"'Never know what you have until its gone'. Yes, I can understand that. Even in such a harsh world, I still miss things from my home." Saeko flashed a gentle smile at Makoto and nodded. "Maybe so... thank you, miss-" Saeko's expression changed to one of surprise. "Oh! I apologize, such a conversation and I did not even introduce myself to some of you. My name is Saeko. Saeko Murakami."
Did I introduce myself? Well, in case I didn't, my name is Hong Meiling!
*Makoto gives Saeko a warm smile* Nice to meet you Saeko. My name is Makoto Niijima. I hope you enjoy some of your time here, and I also hope we can become better aquatinted with eachother.
Surprisingly, that last comment wasn't directed at you Meiling. Its more for all the people who think my hair's pink. Its Lavender by the way. Not, that's its any better, but at least that's more accurate, right? *Gamma tosses the ice over his shoulder, heading back to his spot on the opposite wall, where he once again begins examining his feather*
It seems like there are some storytelling that I'm not interested in, but you would be interesting after all. *mukoro looked at gamma again, but red eyes eyes with "一" in his left eye* We might meet again, until then... *the mist disappeared even with mukuro with it*
*Gamma looks around at the others, and laughs for a moment, before composing himself enough to speak* How do I always attract such weirdos. *chuckle* Who wants to bet he'll end up asking me to rob a bank or something. Maybe try telling me about how great I am? I don't know whether or not its good that I can joke like that.... Seriously, it happens way more than you'd think.
*Lowe was spacing out, probably thinking about how much he hates trains* O-oh! Thanks for the advice, guy. I'm still new here, but I want nothing more than to learn what the deal with this place is and live a normal life. *Lowe smiles at Saeko, and extends his arm* The name's Lowe, by the way. Nice to meet ya, Saeko!
"It is nice to meet you Miss Nijima, Mister Lowe and you as well, Miss Meiling. Perhaps in the future I will inquire about those seedlings you mentioned." Her smile fades as she turns her attention to the pink, yes pink, haired man. "I seem to recall you holding a feather once before as well, Mister Gamma. Do they hold some significance?"
Ah. [Kazuma quickly stands up and looks around in confusion, and tries to fix his hair with his hand. He, somehow, fell asleep out of nowhere and looks clearly embarrassed by the whole situation.] My oh my, how rude of me, to fall asleep in the middle of a conversation. Oh well, it's not like I missed anything too important... [He looks around to notices Gamma. He rubs his chin with two fingers.] I was right, nothing too important.
*he passes by the group while holding his Hard Light auto rifle*
*The man with Lavender hair, that is the color Lavender, which is more of a purple than a pink, though a really light purple, quickly hides the feather in his coat pocket* Its nothing really.... The feather was just a bit of a gift.. From a friend. Haven't seen her in a while though... *Gamma begins shifting his weight between his feet, as though finding it difficult to stand still* Not that its important of course. I just... Look at it sometimes. Is all
Feel free to come by anytime! though, for now, I have to go! If I stay any longer, sakuya will probably knife me for staying away from my job too long! See you all later!
*Lowe smiles and starts walking away as well.* Well, Murakami-san, I'll be seeing you. I think I'm feeling a craving for something salty. Maybe some ramen? *He leaves the area pondering this very important question*
Saeko waves at the two making their depart. After they're out of sight, she checks her pocket watch. "Hmm, perhaps I should take my leave as well. It was nice to meet some of you, and have this calm chat."
Probably a good idea. After all, I imagine there are better places to rest. I'll just remain here a bit if you don't mind. *Gamma waves at the others before taking out another ice shard. And tossing, and catching, and tossing, and catching...*
And of course I fall asleep for the juicy bits, I swear I'll get you one of these days, Morpheus. [A green circle of magic appears on Kazuma's back as a serpentine chain is shot, propelling him into the air.] Well, I guess I'll have to use the next chance... My luck sometimes, seriously. [He shoots from his hand the same chain towards a nearby building, latching onto it. Kazuma grabs on and launches himself to the roof, leaving the area.]
*Makoto waves and smiles to the rest as she walks away. She then looks ahead and thinks to herself* Now, hopefully I can find where I need to go...
